Afterthoughts: Showtime!

Game: Princess Peach: Showtime! (March 22, 2024)

Console: Nintendo Switch

Hello hello!! I'm trying to wrap up some to-do list stuff before I go off and take care of some irl junk. And I'm pretty much done with commissions for the time being sooooo... Let's move on to some of the fun stuff: talking about video games!! And not just any video game, but a game all about the most beautiful pink princess in the medium, Peach!! OH I LOVE PEACH SO MUCH-

VERY happy I was able to get a copy of this game, as I was extremely broke when it launched. But my brother very generously bought a copy for the house, so you can consider this afterthoughts sponsored by them, I suppose!

Typical stuff, this is NOT a review! Just me throwing up my thoughts about the game so people can get my jumbled mess of ideas. If I ever talk about anything that interests you, please play it!

SPOILERS FOR PRINCESS PEACH SHOWTIME AHEAD!! DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT IT SPOILED!!

Opening

So, yeah, I've played some Mario. I'd even go as far as to say that you could maybe consider me a Mario fan again. Maybe. And, well, I like Princess Peach. If you've been following me for a bit, you probably know I LOVE Peach! She's cute, she's pretty, and I think she's been PAINFULLY underused in the series the last few years. Did you know she's a powerful spellcaster? Why don't we get to see it more? I'm very thankful we're FINALLY seeing her be playable in more games again.

I was actually a HUGE fan of Super Princess Peach on DS, and I thought we were long overdue on a sequel for years. So naturally I was SUPER stoked when they showed that teeny tiny teaser a while back. Fast forward, and the game is here and... I love it! I actually think it may even be better than SPP! It's super cute!

Stuff I liked

So for starters, again it's SUPER cute! You'd probably expect as much from a game about Peach. But no it's REALLY damn cute! From the plot about a theater being taken over, to the framing of levels being stage shows, to Peach's outfits changing in each level. This game is ADORABLE! Easily up there with the recent Yoshi games as some of the cutest Mario games ever made!

It's also super good looking, I'm not a graphics expert but I think it's a damn good looking game and I think Peach's model and animations in particular look GREAT! The whole game is full of TONS of life even though it's all fake cause it's a stage show lmao. Even character designs are REALLY full of life and interesting. I'll admit I thought Madame Grape's design wasn't that exciting when I first saw it. But it grew on me and the Sour Bunch have some FANTASTIC designs! The enemies but ESPECIALLY the bosses. And Stella is also SUPER cute! Usually you'd worry new little marketable sidekicks like that would be annoying but no, Stella was fine! I like her a lot!

Speaking of the bosses, the gameplay in general of this game is REALLY good. I didn't play the demo but I remember people saying it was like a baby game. Which made me nervous. But now that I've actually played it, no I loved the gameplay. It's fairly simple and some levels you can just blast through like its nothing. But it's FUN and some levels are genuinely tough. I had a BLAST with some of these stages! And the different gameplay styles are all fun, I don't think there's any I genuinely disliked or dreaded having to do. Even slower and more boring stages like the detective ones are fun and cute! My favorite level types were the more action focused ones. But in particular I really liked Western and Ninja levels. I was really impressed by the fact they made stealth sections in a platformer that DIDN'T suck! But back to the bosses, they're REALLY good. I wasn't expecting anything too challenging but the snake, cat, and lion really did give me a bit of a run for my money! I was particularly impressed with the lion and cat, they were VERY creative and interesting boss fights. And of course, the final boss RULES. I CAN'T BELIEVE THE GAME ENDS ON A SHMUP TYPE BOSS FIGHT LMAO!! I think it makes sense because every level type is a new theme, but it was particularly great for me cause I LOVE Shmups! Put Peach in MORE on rails shooters/shmups in my opinion! The whole finale was SO good, and SO cool. It was surprisingly emotional and Radiant Peach is DOWN RIGHT GORGEOUS!!! I knew there had to be a special final boss super form and I was STILL so in love with it!

Speaking of special forms, the biggest high light of this game is obviously Peach's transformations! I'm LOVING how much we're seeing Mario characters get to change their outfits lately. Mario in Odyssey, Yoshi in Wooly World, and even Luigi in the LM3 multiplayer. It's a LONG overdue and welcome change! And seriously, seeing Peach in all these wonderful new costumes and outfits was, no questions, the best part of the game. They're all REALLY well made, I like that they're all so unique and not all just pink. It's nice to see Peach in different colors cause I was SHOCKED with how much she ate the Ninja costume. Green is SO good on her! I love seeing her in jeans, seeing her in hats, seeing her with different hair styles. It's genuinely LOVELY and I could stare at these costumes FOREVER! WHY IS SHE SO HOT!!! My favorites visually are probably Mermaid, Cowgirl, and Figure Skater. But that's not even where her new outfits end! I was FLOORED when I found out you can customize her main dress! THAT'S AWESOME WHAT THE FUCK!! During the game they give you new colors and patterns for Peach's dress so you can make her default outfit look a little more YOU. They're not all mind blowing changes, but it's cute and an extra feature they didn't have to include! I LOVED the gradient dress that went from white to bright pink.

Over all the game is just filled to the brim with life, a shocking amount of things to collect and do, and some REALLY fun and engaging levels! I was fully expecting to like this game, but personally it REALLY knocked my expectations out of the water!

Damn and another little bonus note, I didn't remember any of the music, but hearing the OST again while I write this. It's nice!! Assassin Disco is playing right now and that is GOOD!

Stuff I didn't like

But of course no game is perfect. I have a few nitpicks here and there. One is that, while I do like the Theets and I think they're noses being lights that emote with them is cute. They're something about them that's just missing that special punch? Like they're SO close to being perfect, but they just don't 100% land for me design wise. But I guess that's probably for the best since they have to have so many different designs through the game. I personally was also a little disappointed that the Sparklas were just fancier Theets. I think they maybe should've been the same species as Stella so they really stood out and I understood what made them so important compared to all the other Theets acting in the plays. But this is kind of a nitpick honestly it didn't ruin the game or anything.

Then there's the whole issue with the cover art. Yeah I really don't like it. I think the original looked cute! It's very VERY weird to have one Peach front and center that looks NOTHING like any other Peach on the cover or in game. And yeah it's just the cover art, but you see it a lot. It's WEIRD. And I'm grasping for stuff to say I didn't like about this game cause it was so good. I remember people being like "well it's GOOD she looks like this cause now she can actually emote" which seems to be the catch all argument against feminine designs or designs people dislike without having much of a reason to. And personally I'm starting to think it's kind of a bunk argument. Peach emotes just fine in this game! And I actually think they make her look INCREDIBLY cute! Any design can emote and be expressive if you actually let them emote and be expressive. But again that's a small issue, this LITERALLY makes no impact on the game lol.

Outside of small things like that. My main issue with this game is just that it feels a little short and repetitive. It's not THAT bad, you only have to play the same level theme 3-4 times to get the ending. But like, it just feels like there should be more. But at the same time, I really have no idea how you could fix this issue. There's already 10 different transformations, each with their own gameplay style more or less. It's kind of a lot! So I understand why they didn't make more and risk having some just not be good. I guess this type of weird stalemate issue can only be fixed... With a sequel... Please... Peach deserves it.

Final Thoughts

YEAH!! Princess Peach is back too it would seem! I kind of can't believe it, it really seemed like they just didn't really want to ever give her the starring role again. But I'm SO happy to see I was wrong! And personally I think they really knocked it out of the park here! This game was cute and fun way beyond what I was expecting. And I can genuinely see myself coming back to 100% it. I mean, ANY game that has Princess Peach in jeans is good in my book!

No but seriously, fun game! I loved this a lot!

Yeah as I said at the start I'm trying to wrap up stuff I'm doing so I can go deal with some OTHER stuff and get things prepared for next year (hopefully) in my life. Currently I've been playing my ASS off trying to beat a game that's completely brand new to me. It's part of a long running series I've actually never beaten a game from before so I'm excited to see it through.

Start of Something - A Single Snare (Pt. 7)

-Writing a little series on here as a warm up! In accordance to @orangelegs‘s Hogwarts AU! Updates won’t be on a set time, but they’ll come eventually-

Oh, here I am! And not super late! How peculiar! Sorry to Logicality shippers- Logan is... well, you’ll have to read. Sorry in particular to @patton-cake! But also- Remus warning. He is Remus, and writing him makes me laugh and cringe all at once. What a beautiful character. 

Meanwhile, Roman is out of his gear and preparing to leave the pitch. Out of the corner of his eye, he notices a certain bespectacled commentator. 

Logan, that’s Logan, right? The one Patton told me about, Virgil’s friend, Patton’s crush, yadda yadda yadda. 

I hope that’s Logan, or else this is going to be idiotic. 

“Hey, Loganberry! Come over here!” Roman calls out. The other players of the Gryffindor team smirk and twitter about, wondering what the star chaser wants with the nerd. Roman silences them with a hand. “I’m going to walk and talk with Specs over there, alright? Don’t do anything stupid now,” 

“Can’t promise it, soon to be captain,” one girl purrs. She’s been flirting with him for the better part of a year now, but Roman will never give her the time of day. There’s no attraction, none whatsoever on his side, and why would he get into a loveless relationship like that? He’s waiting for true love, something that makes his heart sing and stomach flutter. Love at first sight, right?

“Aww, you flatter me. Some of you know the way to my heart, hmm? Either way, see you,” Roman casts them a sultry wink, and then waves for Logan to follow him. Logan adjusts his glasses suspiciously but obliges.  

“Roman. What do you need?” Logan gets straight to the point. Roman smiles wide. 

“Do I need to want something from you to talk to you?” 

“Usually, yes,” Logan answers astutely. Roman blanches. It’s true: they always want something from him, whether test help or pointers, never to actually talk. 

“Poor chap! I wish only to speak with you about your friend, Virgil. He’s tutoring me you know, and I heard that you two were close, so I was wondering-” 

“If you could learn about him by pestering me,” Logan sighs. 

“Uh, yeah?” 

“My response is no. Apologies,” Logan shoots him an indescribable look and continues his brisk pace across the field. Roman dashes forwards to catch up. 

“But why? Is he hiding something? Is there something I should know? Why are you not telling me?” 

“Because I respect Virgil’s privacy. He can tell you when he wishes,” 

“Oh. Well. Hmm,” Roman ponders. He makes a good point. “That’s fair enough, I presume. You’re a good friend to Virgil,” 

“You think so?” Logan squints, looking towards the castle longingly. There’s something in that sidelong glance that Roman can’t place. Something about it that makes Roman sad, that reminds him of being younger and desperate for love. It’s disheartening to try and understand, so he stops. 

“Yeah, totally,” Roman says, casting him a thumbs up. Out of nowhere, a large green putrid cloud appears. Roman groans: Logan looks incredibly befuddled as he coughs with the gross stench that fills the air. Manic laughter from inside the cloud only confirms Roman’s suspicions.

“Remus, what in the good name of Dumbledore are you doing?” Roman demands, unsheathing his wand to point it at Remus as he approaches from the cloud of Dungbomb smoke. 

“Making an entrance, what else?” Remus cackles. Roman rolls his eyes, putting his body slightly in front of Logan to protect him from Remus’s unpredictable antics. 

“Does it have to be so-” 

“Stinky??” Remus shrilly cuts in. 

“No, I was going to say so untimely. I’m trying to have a conversation with Logan, I have no time for your oddities,” Roman waves him away. Remus pouts.

“You never have time for me anymore, bro bro! Don’t you love me??” Roman coos, pressing up his own cheeks in a nutty way that Roman rolls his eyes at and Logan looks at curiously. 

“Who are you?” he questions, blatant and robotic. Remus turns his attention to Logan. Logan has no clue what’s going through his head: he presumes it’s either dirty or violent. 

“The name’s Remus Prince, at your service, nerd,” Remus extends a hand to shake with a goofy smile. Logan’s about to take his hand when Roman slaps it out of the way. 

“There is no way you’re genuinely going to shake his hand,” Roman hisses. Logan sighs, already knowing that this is going to be difficult. 

“Uh, yes way, dick-suck,” Remus sticks his tongue out. 

“Bitch, please, the last time you did anything genuine to anyone besides Janus you were too young to understand what the word genuine meant. And even then, you never wash your fucking hands!” Roman scoffs. 

“I’m sorry, do either of you have any sort of need for me or can I go to Transfiguration homework now?” Logan adjusts his glasses, perpetually tired. 

Both twins chorus in with a chirpy “Yes!”. 

Then, “Why do you need to talk to him?” 

Logan feels odd: is this emotion what being wanted feels like? Roman glares at Remus, Remus smiles a wicked sharp-tooth smile at Roman. 

“Both of you, state what you need. In an orderly fashion, please,” Logan instructs. 

“You already know,” Roman sighs dramatically, still giving his twin a side eye, “I came to you to ask about Virgil.” Logan’s eyes narrow. 

“What about Virgil?” 

“His motivations? Passions? Hobbies? Anything, really. All I know really is that he enjoys making fun of me, watches my games, and wicked smart. Oh, and that he’s friends with both you and Patton but not Janus and Remus. Besides that, nothing!” That is a lot more than nothing, Logan thinks to himself drily. 

“Falsehood. And once more, perhaps engaging in a conversational interaction with Virgil will provide more enriching than pressing me for information,” 

“But-“ 

“Next,” Logan adjusts his glasses. Roman huffs indignantly. 

“Oh, oh, that’s me! Hiya! I wanna ask about Virgil too!!” Remus squeals. Logan blinks. Why is Virgil so popular these days? Because of Roman and Patton?

Is he going to forget about me? All these people fawning over him...

No, no, don’t be ridiculous. 

“What do you want with Virgil? The both of you, answer honestly. I do not appreciate liars.” 

“I’m asking because he’s sooooo cute!!!” Remus’s voice is too shrill, too much for Logan. He winces. Roman gapes at Remus. 

“Whaaat? You and… dark and stormy? No, you don’t even know him!!” Roman accuses. Remus bats his eyes at Roman. 

“I think I know more than you do anyway- I know he’s gay, and I know he’s adorable and don’t you just want to eat him up? I could gnaw on those fingers for weeks on end, oh yes Daddy-” 

“How- what- Remus-“ 

“I have never seen you and Virgil together, much less heard him talk of you!” Logan glares. Remus shrugs, smiles maniacally once more. He’s insane, Logan thinks. A complete madman. 

“Just because you can’t see me doesn’t mean I’m not there~” he sing-songs. Roman gags. 

“You’ve been stalking Virgil??” Roman accuses. Logan goes white: So creepy. 

Remus grins widely. 

“Oh gods, Remus, the poor stormcloud- you worsen his anxiety, you know that?” Roman reprimands, protecting Virgil and his security. Logan’s eyes widen, and he looks to Roman. 

“You know about Virgil’s heightened anxiety?” he asks. Logan, before now, had thought he was the only one trusted with that information. He thought he was special. But this reminds him, starkly, that he is not the object of Virgil’s affections. That he is ‘just a friend’. It is infuriating, and stifling. If Virgil could only see that Logan had been there for him all along- 

“Yes, of course. He told me today. A good thing too, I’ll be more careful when I serenade him as payment for tutoring!” Roman booms a laugh. Remus mimics him mockingly, to which Roman casts a glare. 

“No, no, no, you best not, Roman,” Logan’s words come out of his mouth before he can bite them back. Surely, if Roman starts singing to Virgil, he will fall deeper in love and-  Roman and Remus both look at him confusedly. 

“Whyever not?” 

“He… he won’t like it,” Logan feels a bit idiotic with the lacklaster explaination. He’s sure that if he was given more time he would do better but- Roman isn’t exactly the fastest broom in the locker when it comes to intelligence. 

“Why not, Logie?” Remus purrs, inching closer to Logan, who grips the strap of his bag worriedly. “Virgil would looooove it if Roman sang, right?” Roman pulls back Remus from harassing Logan. Remus giggles at Logan’s blush. 

How in the world does this boy who looks like he just crawled out of a trash bin know that Virgil likes Roman? Who told him—

It comes to him instantly: Patton. Patton probably told Remus, because if he’s friends with Janus he’ll probably be close with Remus. Anger flares in Logan’s chest: how could he betray Virgil’s hard won trust like that?? 

No, think logically now. Separate emotions from thinking. Remus mentioned that he has followed Virgil around in the past, so perhaps he overheard our conversations? 

Besides, Patton would never do that. He is... kind. 

“Hey, don’t listen to my imbecile brother, dear Logan. He’s talking out of his ass,” Roman assures Logan. 

“I wish,” Remus snorts. Roman whacks him above the head, to which Remus yelps. 

“Why can’t you be normal? I told mom and dad we should just leave you in a ditch with the other wild animals but nooo, he’s your brother, you have to watch out for him at Hogwarts and make sure he comes home for holidays and summers- honestly, ridiculous. I don’t know why I try: You’re going to fail out any day now anyway,” Roman bemoans. Logan is still deliberating on the mole who knows of Virgil’s budding romance, and coming up only more confused. 

Remus giggles, “I can’t help it if salamander blood and dragon liver is a delicious combination.” 

“Ugh, gross! Now I know why the potions professor is terrified of you! How are you not dead?!” Roman exasperates, looking to Logan for backup. Instead of assistance, he only gets Logan’s intense scrutiny from behind glasses. 

“Are you aware of who Virgil fancies?” He asks sternly. Roman does a double take, dropping his brother, who scurries away like a rat after release, cackling all the while. He’s far away before Roman has a chance to ensnare him once more. Logan blanches, realizing his mistake. 

I am the one that has betrayed Virgil’s trust. I just… I just let it slip that Virgil has a crush. Only a fool wouldn’t realize that it was Roman I speak of, only a blind fool-

“Oh my stars, really? How incredible!” Roman gushes, face flushed with excitement. Logan frowns. 

“You do not find it off putting?” 

“No! Rather, I’m flattered that you’re reaching out to me! I’d love to help Virgil,” 

“You… you would?” 

“Oh, definitely! What are we thinking? A song? A dance? Ooh, flowers?”  

“Excuse me, what are you talking about?” Logan asks, confused all too much. 

“The method of confession to his crush, but of course! I’m quite fond of romantics myself, though I get all clammy when it’s directed towards me. They don’t know me, you know? They only see my outwards appearance and attitude, not the real stuff. I want true love and a prince/princess worth fighting wars for. Like Helen of Troy, or like Sleeping Beauty,” Roman laughs. Logan internally thanks science that Roman is so unprecedentedly unintelligent. 

And then… the thought appears to him, clear as day. Roman would tell him what sort of romance he likes, to get closer to Logan and learn more secretively about Virgil, and in turn Logan can share the knowledge with Virgil. Virgil would be ecstatic… but it would mean that Logan would lose any chance he has by his own hand. That would be illogical, wouldn’t it? 

Instead… What if he gives the wrong information to Virgil? It would mean purposefully masterminding the termination of any budding love but it would surely be in both of their benefits, wouldn’t it? 

Seeing how Roman lacks any true perceptive ability, he could never truly care for Virgil’s many anxieties and triggers. He wouldn’t be able to tell like Logan. He can easily assure himself that he is better for Virgil, whether the object of his affections realizes that or not. 

That’s it. He’ll extract the information from Roman, and give it misleadingly for Virgil to clip this in the bud. He’ll simply share safe things about Virgil, like his favorite things or passions, in exchange for that valuable knowledge. Though a bit complicated, Logan is sure that his plan is foolproof. And… Logan is certainly no fool. 

“Roman,” Logan starts, adjusting his glasses nonchalantly. Roman smiles at him. 

“Yes, dearest nerd?”

“As it appears that you are in fact going to be in close relations with Virgil in the near future. Perhaps it would be for both our benefits to relate to you all things Virgil. And in turn, you can tell me about yourself. For example… your romantic interests?” 

“Ooh, are you hitting on me? I’m flattered-“ 

“Merely an example, I would not sink to your level,” Logan rolls his eyes. Roman scoffs in disbelief. He is clearly not used to hearing that. 

“Ouch, how rude, but otherwise sounds fun! I’m looking forward to getting to know the acclaimed angst-adhered anxiety-stricken stormcloud better,” Roman looks… excited? It is worrying, surely, for Logan’s selfish ideals but he pays it no mind. 

This is merely the first step amongst many in a grand plan. He is simply placing the first pawns to capture the king. With a wave to Roman and a promise to send an owl, he heads to his evening study date with the king himself: lovely Virgil.

me watching Free! Eternal Summer

An incoherent and unorganized scribbling of my thoughts while watching Free! Eternal Summer before I really came to grips with how in love I am with RIN MATSUOKA this anime. (so plz excuse how haphazard and unorganized this is, I wasn't really planning on journaling this but found myself doing it anyway)

Okay okay okay I know I should be sleeping because we're driving to the beach in the morning but I really wanted to check out the first episode of Free! Season 2 and OMG sooooo the intro theme song showed this new guy who seems to be on Rin's team and, ahem... He's rather very good looking 👀 Best looking boy so far, and that's saying something because you got Haru and Rin and even lowkey Rin's ex-team captain so...yeah. Welp I'm looking forward to this season 😁

So I believe I've watched up to Episode 4 now, and I know I haven't been commenting recently but sometimes I just wanna watch without any journaling interruption :P But okay so far OMG, so Rin's friend Sousuke (the big tall buff good-looking guy) is kind of a jerk, I mean I get that he was friends with Rin first back in elementary and ngl, I'd feel slighted too of my old best friend abandoned me for some new kids. But he doesn't have to be such a...jerk about it.

AND HE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ALL POSSESSIVE EITHER 👀 👀 👀 👀

Hahahahaha yeaaahhh, so there's legit like this friend-triangle going on where Sousuke is acting all possessive over Rin and then there's Haru who's just happy to have his Rin back in his life and there's Rin who's just the It boy it seems who cares for both friends and is totally oblivious to the battle going on over him 😏😆 And am I loving it?? Absolutely yes.

I just...ugh I just love the dynamic between Rin and Haru, and though high-school Rin isn't my favorite anime character, elementary-school Rin IS and idk why but I love the idea of everyone loving and wanting him and just ugh I love that aloof, expressionless Haru gets all emo over Rin like Rin is his bestest friend without him actually ever being his bestest friend, like Haru secretly admired Rin so much and was inspired by him and came to love him though Haru, being the non-emotional-don't-show-feelings guy and kid he is, never indicated how he felt about Rin and UGHHH the feels in this show are too much.

Elementary school-Rin literally is one of my most favorite characters ever in anime, I love him so much; he's like a shining light to the world.

Anyways, gonna check out the next ep! (aaaaand I'm actually really exhausted and have to run errands tomorrow, so maybe I'll just be going to sleep, idk :P)

Episode 6

OMG...is Makoto starting to question whether he's Haru's best friend anymore in comparison to Rin???!?! I'm like sad but also like eeeeeeek because I literally love RinHaru so much but I also love Makoto and don't want him to be sad :(((( He hinted at it when Nagisa asked him why he competed against Haru, and Mako said that he just wanted to try a serious race against Haru...but then, while watching Rin and Haru standing next to each other chatting after their race, with wistful eyes added, "I’m not sure. Was I jealous of Rin?" ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

And then Sousuke had a similar look in his eyes when Rin was talking about Haru beating him in their race. Methinks these friends are feeling like Haru and Rin have this special bond/connection with each other, and like they're being left out in a way.

Idk, this is just my initial impression without thinking too deeply into it.

I have some things to say but I'm too tired and wanna figure out what the heck season 3 is all about (and my eyes are about to fall out of my head because yet again, I pretty much binged the entire season yet again 😵💀💤)

IN SUMMARY...

Okay, so let me talk a little bit about Season 2.

So yeah, I enjoyed it, and I absolutely LOVE my bois so much <333, but I'll admit, it wasn't as emotionally intense as Season 1. Yeah, Haru had a couple of meltdowns with his whole "I don't know what I want to do in the future so stop trying to force me to choose a dream" personal drama, but outside of that there wasn't too much interpersonal drama, not like in Season 1 :( And honestly, that’s what sucked me into this anime, as I was livinggg for all the emo drama between Haru and Rin lol.

But it felt like this season lacked in that department. Of course, it makes sense since Rin has already reconciled with the others, but I guess I expected to see more of elementary-school Rin in high-school Rin, but there were only hints of little Rin in older Rin :/ Still love Rin ofc (my boyyyy) but he wasn't as charismatic, as outgoing and idealistic and happy and shining as his elementary-school self :( And I guess I was expecting that, so maybe in a way I set my own self up.

But back to the RinHaru lack, like don't get me wrong there was a ton of RinHaru-ness (I mean, Australia) but it wasn't as emo and intense as last season's. I wanted Rin and Haru to spend more time together, to see more of that need they had for each other that they had in Season 1. But it just…lacked. And not gonna lie, I'm sad about it :( I want Haru to need Rin and Rin to need Haru, and yeah we already know they do, but I want them to show it. I want HARU to show it.

(I want to indulge in my feels some more lol.)

And now that they're in totally different countries in Season 3, my RinHaru heart is so frustrated, like there better be some texting/skype calls/letter writing/something between these two because y’all can’t just give us all that emo angsty “YOU WILL SWIM FOR ME” “I WANT TO SWIM WITH YOU” “I KNOW WHO I SWIM FOR” “LET ME SHOW YOU A SIGHT YOU’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE” drama and then separate the two after you spent an entire season telling us how much they need each other like, come on KyoAni! You’re killing me here!

I wonder if this means we won’t be getting much RinHaru in season 3?? Rin is in Australia while Haru is going to college in Tokyo (as well as Makoto, so happy for you babe!). If Rin is the one who lights a fire in Haru when swimming and vice versa...how're they supposed to do that 4k+ miles away from each other? I’m hoping KyoAni’s got something up their sleeve because RinHaru was the very reason I fell for this anime, please don’t deprive me now!

Season 3 also has some old-but-new characters come in: Haru and Makoto’s old middle school swim teammates. And apparently there will be drama there, while some new character comes into Rin's life and there's a story there, too. Not to be such a fangirl, but…I don't want them only interacting with new characters and then having separate stories from each other; call me greedy (because when it comes to RinHaru, I totally am, no shame) but I want RinHaru, not Rin in his own world and Haru in his.

Anyways, I'm going to watch the OVAs and then the middle school movie before starting Season 3. Maybe those "new" characters in Season 3 will be in the middle school movie, and then we'll get some story set up for Season 3. Also, I think it's absolutely hilarifreakinous that at the beginning of all this I literally was like, “Meh, gonna check this anime out, don't expect to fall for these characters like I did with Haikyuu*" and yet here I am with elementary-school Rin as my best boi after Levi and my first ever anime ship ahahahaha funny how the cookie crumbles 🙂

*note: I still love Haikyuu more overall, for I fell hard for the entire friggin volleyball team, not just two three characters (Gou is best girl, Gou >>>> Haikyuu girls), but I definitely feel more emo towards Rin and RinHaru and I really like Gou. I don't think I'd even really consider Free! one my top animes in regards to overall story 'cause it's honestly not all that remarkable, but the characters; I just love and little Rin is definitely one of my favorite anime characters ever, GAH I LOVE HIM SO MUCH 😭��  edit 8/20/20 - pfftskdjkkklds wow how naive I was lollllll (I still love Karasuno OFC, but as of now I've been more emotionally involved by and absolutely obsessed with RinHaru than I have with Karasuno, but it doesn't necessarily mean I love one over the other. Izanagi Challenge run part 1

Well here we are at the start, I’m starting a clean save and thinking over how I think this is going go.

My best guess is the start is going to be realitivally easy, not exsactly sure how far I’m gonna manage to get, my hopes is to at least beat Chie’s Shadow if not get about half way through the dungeon. She shouldn’t be too hard, but hopefully when I start getting Shuffletimes I get either a Dia card or if I’m lucky a Bufu to help with Yukiko’s Shadow in the future. Thinking about it I don’t see the early game being too hard especally Kanji’s Shadow but who knows what RNGesus has for me.

Middle game largely depends on the skillcards I can get but I can see it being a challege. and oh dear god I am not looking forward to the Amino-Sagiri fight that fight has been the bane of my existance in every other run and I expect no different now. Oddly enough I think I’ll be able to handle the last two bosses pretty ok long as I’m not stupid

I love the fact when you pick Very Hard difficulty the game warns you that you can’t change the difficulty, then immediately says ‘Relax and enjoy the game!’ No, No I’m here to suffer.

For the name I went with Yu Narukami for canon’s sake, I don’t normally use the canon name But might as well for this run.

I’m also not going to go over the story unless it’s somehow related to a dungeon, I find something intresting to comment on, or some way to make a joke. So your pretty much just gonna hear how the dungeon crawling’s doing and how much a boss is pissing me off. And I’ve also recently finished my NG+ Run of the game so Ya I’m gonna be fastforwarding and skipping a lot.

....I’m not the only one who wished in NG+ It was at least an option to ask Yosuke if he was ok when you see him crash right? As it is your a complete jerk to him by ignoring him when he’s in pain and distress twice before helping him out of the trashcan. AND BEST BOI DOESN’T DESERVE THAT SHIT!

Tutorial fight and huh, those shadows definately got a damage boost, ended up using a medicine before the boss...This can only mean good things.

At least Yosuke’s Shadow is an easy boss, weak to Zio meaning Izanagi can just zap him into submission, though he does use Winds of Oblivion which, is a wind skill which we’re weak to.

...I’mma just rant here for a second YOSUKE DESERVED HIS OWN DUNGEON!

Like I get why they did it on several levels, give you a party member before the first dungeon, teach you how boss fights are gonna work. I even get why they thematically did it with his Shadow appearing in Saki’s space.

The thing is though, it doesn’t work properly which sucks because they did it perfectly with Chie who also doesn’t get her own dungeon. Chie’s Shadow takes up residence in Yukiko’s Castle and it fits her issues *perfectly*.

Chie’s problem is her fagile ego, she thinks of Yukiko as being better then her so needs to keep Yukiko co-dependant on her to prop herself up. Which makes it thematically appropriate for Chie’s Shadow to be in Yukiko’s dungon. She views herself soo poorly and as being soo weak she can’t even form a dungeon and can only leech off of Yukiko’s, her ‘betters’ dungeon.

Yosuke....Ok...He...Tries to date Saki to deal with his boredom but...She isn’t the *core* of his boredom or resentment, that’s the town at large, if he saw Saki as a symbol for the town he’d hate her not want to date her. She was a means to an end and while Yosuke’s charicter arch does involve him working through his complicated feelings for her *their not why he formed a dunegon*

Just...I know we just got the Steam port but if Atlus ever does a remake of P4 In the updated P5 Engine, Yosuke deserves to have his own dungeon.

And my estimation of myself took a nose dive when not only did the Shadows of the tutorial fight deal way more damage then I thought, but Yosuke’s Shadow actually killed me...So much for him being an easy boss....

Second attempt I actually remember the tutorial Shadows are weak to Zio (I thought they where weak to phys hence why they got off enough attacks on me I ended up needing one of those medicines I needed for Yosuke’s fight) and Yosuke’s Shadow goes down since it has a pretty damn easy pattern along with it’s Zio weakness, just guard when it uses power charger and when it guards and you’ll be ok.

Anyway first team mate get and thanks to his boyfriend Privileges he will never leave the party.

For real though Yosuke is the only team mate who has wind skills other then Naoto who only has the single target spell (And you only get in October), has the best speed of all your team mates and is the most vercitle learning skills from pretty much every branch avaible to him, want him to be a healer he can heal, want him to be a magic power house he’s got you, wanna do physical he can do physical. His adaptiblity is really second only to the Protags with the Wildcard (Which we don’t have in this run) and I happily keep him at my side through the entire game.

Yosuke Social link go, Chie causing drama, basically filling time till you see Yukiko on the Midnight Channel then hijinks, getting supplys and heading to the castle.

I only got armour for myself and Yosuke and spent the rest on medicines since I...You know...Wanna live through the dungeon.

And I was right to do so as the first Shadow, a pises took out HALF MY HEALTH IN ONE HIT.

Also god damn it P4 Why do I have to manually switch Yosuke and the others to my control it’s soo goddamn annoying to have to do that the first time I use anyone.

First floor cleared and first skill card earned! It’s Tarukaja which...Not what I wanted and I just personally favor the automatic boost skills you can get. And the ones that offer a plus for using it like Yosuke’s Youthful Wind not only being a Sukaja but healing you for some of your health. Course he’s not going to get that skill till january. *Sigh*

About to face Chie’s Shadow and I deside to restore some of Yosk’s SP since he has Garu which she’s weak to and hope for the best, I really hope I’m not gonna have to grind the first floor for this...

First turn and she kills Yosuke. This is only going to go sooooo well.

It went ok...Till I got her into her low health animation and she killed me with a lucky Mabufu. Alright let’s try this again before I go back and....Attempt to grind.

And I got booted all the way back to the town....*Sigh* Least this means I get a reroll on that skill card...IF I get another one.

Which I don’t. *Sighs* and like a fucking IDIOT I forgot to restore Yosuke’s SP before the fight. At least since I resist Zio I could do a little the first turn and settle in for her attack loop.

This time I don’t even make it to her low health animation before she get’s a lucky crit and kills me with Bottomless envy. *Grumbles* Ok I’m starting to get frustrated so, Chie’s Shadow can be smug over her victory while I cool my head for today.

IT REMINDED OF THOSE SCENARIOS WHERE ADOPTED CHILDREN WHO HAVE TO MEET THEIR REAL PARENTS FOR THE FIRST TIME ARE HANDLED AND I LIKE HOW THE DRAGON WRITERS CHOSE THIS APPROACH FOR ZYM. IT FELT...REAL AND I LIKED IT ALOT. PLUS...

NOT TO MEME THIS MOMENT HERE BUT I’M GONNA TELL MY KIDS THAT ZYM’S MOM IS MUH QUEEN!

ZYM’S MOM IS SO PRETTY AND I LOVE HER VOICE. SPEAKING OFF...DOES THIS MEAN THAT AT SOME POINT ZYM IS GOING TO LEARN HOW TO TALK?

IS IT THAT ALL DRAGONS CAN TALK IF THEY CHOOSE TOO OR...IS IT ONLY THE MONARCH ONES? I’M ASSUMING IT’S THE MONARCH ONES. EITHER WAY, I’M INTERESTED TO SEE WHAT ZYM IS GOING TO SOUND LIKE WHEN HE GROWS OLDER. WHILE I’LL MISS HIS LITTLE PUPPY DOG SOUNDS, IT’D BE SWEET TO SEE ZYM ACTUALLY TALK. OVERALL, THIS FINALE WAS REALLY REALLY GOOD. THIS SEASON WAS REALLY, REALLY GOOD. IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE REWATCHED THE WHOLE SERIES FROM THE FIRST BOOK. I’LL PROBABLY DO THAT FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS. BUT FOR NOW, I THINK I’M JUST GONNA GO BACK AND REWATCH THE RAYLLUM MOMENT FROM CH5 INSTEAD CAUSE...I’M SORRY I REALLLLLLLLY LOVED THAT SCENE.

I GET THAT VIREN IS A VILLAIN BUT WHAT I LOVE ABOUT HOW THE DRAGON PRINCE HAS PORTRAYED HIM IS THAT...VIREN DOESN’T FEEL LIKE AN ENTIRELY EVIL PERSON. HE HAS SOME GOOD IN HIM AND IT COMES IN THE FORM OF HIS LOVE FOR CLAUDIA. YOU CAN TELL THAT CLAUDS IS VIREN’S PRIDE AND JOY. I WISH HE HAS SAVED SOME OF THAT LOVE SOREN BUT....THIS WAS THE CONFLICT.

VIREN IS A VILLAIN BUT...HIS CHARACTER IS WRITTEN SO WELL AND SO GREY THAT YOU AS THE AUDIENCE FEEL CONFLICTED. EVEN NOW AFTER HE’S DONE A SHIT TON OF EVIL STUFF, I STILL FEEL SYMPATHETIC FOR HIM BECAUSE OF HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS CLAUDIA.

I FEEL SO BAD FOR SOREN AND CLAUDIA. THEY WERE THE KIDS MAN AND IT SUCKED SO BAD THAT THEY HAD TO BE BROKEN APART ESPECIALLY AFTER SEASON TWO’S REVELATION ABOUT THEM.

BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I AM SO SOOOOOOOOO PROUD OF SOREN! SOREN WAS THE FREAKING MVP OF THIS SEASON.

I KNOW I GUSHED MOSTLY ABOUT RAYLLUM BUT SOREN AND ALSO EZRAN AS WELL WERE THE CHARACTERS WHOSE DEVELOPMENT STOOD OUT MOST TO ME. DON’T GET ME WRONG. EVERY CHARACTER SHINED THIS SEASON AND IT WAS HARD TO REALLY PICK FAVOURITES. BUT IF I HAD TO, EZ AND SOREN. ESPECIALLY SOREN. 

SO PROUD OF HIM.

THAT BEING SAID. I AM AT THE END OF BOOK 3 FOR TDP. FUNNY, WITH THE WAY HOW THIS SEASON ENDED, I WAS STARTING TO THINK THAT THIS WAS IT. I FIGURED THIS WAS THE END OF THE DRAGON PRINCE. UNTIL...

...DRAGON PRINCE BOOK 4....WHEN?

CLEARLY THIS IS A TEASER FOR WHAT’S NEXT TO COME FOR THE SERIES. EVEN THOUGH A SEASON FOUR HASN’T OFFICIALLY BEEN ANNOUNCED. OVERALL, I’M READY. THE STORY NEEDS TO CONTINUE AND WHAT I’M CURIOUS ABOUT IS WHAT ELSE IS THERE FOR TDP TO UNFOLD.

I MEAN, WE STILL HAVE MORE OF XADIA TO EXPLORE. WE STILL HAVE MORE ELF SPECIES TO ENCOUNTER. WE STILL HAVE TO GET RUNAAN BACK FROM VIREN AND REUNITE HIM WITH HIS HUSBANDO.

MORE IMPORTANTLY...AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO FEELS AS IF VIREN ALSO HAS RAYLA’S PARENTS TOO?

I KNOW RAYLA SAID THEY WERE BANISHED BUT...I CAN’T REMEMBER IF THEY WERE CONFIRMED TO STILL BE ALIVE?

I KNOW RAYLA SAID THAT RUNAAN AND TINKER (HIS REAL NAME ESCAPES ME RIGHT NOW, SORRY) RAISED HER AFTER WHAT HAPPENED TO HER PARENTS. BUT...ARE RAYLA’S PARENTS ALIVE? DID VIREN CAPTURE THEM LIKE RUNAAN?

Overall---okay I’m done screeching now----but OVERALL, this was another great season. I might even go as far to say that Season 3 is TDP’s BEST SEASON yet. I REALLY REALLY LOVED this season and I’m looking forward to rewatching it again in my recap of the whole series.

I feel as if this is the end of an Arc. Zym has been returned to his mother but the threat of Aaravos still looms on the horizon. So I think it’s safe to say that the Ozymondias Arc of the Dragon Prince story is complete and what’s next will probably be the Aaravos Arc. Another three seasons perhaps?

Either way, I’m excited to see what’s next for TDP. Words cannot describe how much I LOVE this series with its amazing story and AMAZINGLY WELL-WRITTEN CHARACTERS. I can’t wait to see what comes for the next arc. Looking forward to it when it comes out. In the meantime, that’s all I gotta say.

The dignitaries were staring again. Lance sighed and resisted the urge to look over his shoulder, where Those Two were surely standing. He wasn't going to look. He. Was. Not. (Not like it wasn't something he'd seen a thousand times already, anyway.

"Yeah, sorry about them. They just got married. You know, still in that romantic stage." The dignitaries faces lost their confusion as they nodded in understanding, some looking wistful as they mentally relived fond memories, "Sooooo anyway, about us staying a few more days to recharge our Lion's..."

Pidge really, really wished that she wasn't on this mission. Well, that was wrong. She didn't mind fighting when it was necessary, and she didn't mind infiltrating a ship to free the prisoners, and she didn't mind saving said prisoners.

She minded having to be on a mission with Those Two. She minded that a lot.

Turning her gaze away from the One of The Two that was fussing insistently over the Other One's wound, even as the Other One half-heartedly protested, Pidge finished hacking into the doors and went in to bring out the prisoners.

When she had managed to retrieve them, and got them to shuffle out behind her like ducklings, she just barely managed to avoid rolling her eyes as she saw that One of The Two was still fussing. Worse, the prisoners caught sight of it, themselves, and they turned to Pidge with confused, almost insulted expressions at the apparent lack of concern Those Two had for them. (Which, Pidge did know that they cared a lot about the prisoners. Hormones had just made them act like idiots.)

Pidge shrugged and pasted a fake smile onto her face, "Newly married. Full of those newly married urges to protect and care for each other above all else and all that mushy stuff. Ignore them."

Luckily, her voice finally got Those Two's attention, and they finally started focusing on the mission, herding the prisoners to the path to safety. Good to see they were capable of remembering they were on a mission. Pidge thought grumpily while she followed behind. You know, that thing that they were on a Galra prison transport for? Not to fawn all over each other like teenagers in a high school romance movie while their teammate hacked the door? (She knew she was being unfair, since they had taken out most of the guards, but she had been dealing with them acting like this for the past two hours. She was going to be as unfair as she wanted!)

Pidge sighed deeply one last time and followed them out.

Hunk barely had time to register what he was seeing- which was the son of the Queen they were there to charm funds out of reaching down and grabbing Keith's ass- when suddenly that hand was forcibly removed as it's body flew back from the punch that had sent it into the wall ten feet behind it.

He smacked a hand over his face in pure exasperation while the Queen's guards raised their weapons. He wasn't even surprised that That Particular One of The Two was capable of violence when provoked anymore. He- all the team, actually- had been learning that That Particular One was capable of a lot of things when it came to The Other One. He felt like he'd lost a part of his innocence in realizing that. It was like finding out that your parents could be wrong, or something. Not that any of That Particular One's actions were wrong, or anything.

Just occasionally annoying.

"Wait." He said frantically when it looked like The Other One was going to start engaging the guards, "He's just really, really protective of his new husband. Totally didn't mean any harm, I mean, other than protecting his, uh, territory." He mentally winced. The Other One was probably going to make him pay for that later.

Luckily, though, it seemed to do the trick as the guard's lowered their weapons to the Queen's raised hand. The Queen, herself, looked rather apologetic. Hunk thanked the fact that he had at least a few stars shining down on him. He needed them with Those Two.

"Of course," She said in her melodic voice, "The warrior had every right to protect his mate. Amei take marriage very seriously, and I am ashamed of my son's transgression against a mated pair." She paused to gesture grandly back to her castles entrance with her delicate, rainbow-feathered hand, "Please, come join us in the parlor for drinks and refreshments, where we may talk at length about your team's request. It is the least we can do to make up for our misdeed."

Hunk breathed deeply in relief, shooting a quick look at Those Two before following the Queen into the castle. They were standing rather awkwardly, for once, not in each other's space like they were glued together, and not touching each other at all.

Great. They'd gone into their denial stage again.

Tonight was going to suck.

Allura, honestly, was a little beside herself as she stared across the Vrux board, an old Galra game that was apparently like Earth Go. The Other One was sat opposite her in the room provided by their latest allies. She really didn't mind helping in his exploration of his newly (though not so newly, now, she supposed) discovered culture, but-

"Why are you staring at me like that?" Keith finally asked, discomfort fueling the slightly rude bluntness.

Allura blushed before jerking her eyes back to the board and moving one of her pieces. "Ah, sorry, I was just wondering- That is, not to be rude, but-" Allura steeled herself and looked up into Keith's face. "Keith, where is Shiro? He hasn't been separated from you for this long, since... Well, since we lost the Castle." A familiar twinge of smothered grief hit her before she forced it back to focus on Keith.

Keith gave her a sympathetic look, before looking away himself this time, ducking his head even as he reached forward to move one of his pieces with stiff, jerky movements, "He's talking with Krolia about something. Said it would be best if he did it alone." Even with his head ducked, Allura could see he was frowning- but Keith looked back up before she could comment on it. "Why... why does the team keep saying that we're married?"

You know what? Allura had been perfectly fine, but with this show of absolute obliviousness she was done with this conversation, done with being polite, and done with holding back everything that had been building up with Those Two's actions.

"Why? Maybe it's because of the way that you two can barely go three minutes before acting like you're tied to each other with an invisible, three-foot rope! If not a shorter one! Maybe it's because you two have gotten so ridiculously over protective of each other that Galra commanders have fled rather than hurt one of you and face the other's retribution! Even over little wounds! Yesterday, I saw you hack up a tree because it gave Shiro a splinter! A SPLINTER!" Allura paused to take a breath, but was very much Not Done Yet. "Maybe it's because any time anyone else shows interest in either of you, the other manages to somehow subtly terrify them enough that by the end they look like they're considering a life of solitude! Maybe it's because the two of you look at each other like you're considering doing things that should only be done alone, behind closed doors! Maybe it's because the two of you are so clearly, outrageously in love that it's become painful to witness! Maybe it's because the two of you act like you've been married for years! Maybe it's because of all those things!"

Keith looked like a prey animal in the headlights of a ship when Allura finally stopped, panting deeply. Shiro, standing behind him now (Of course. Because you really couldn't stay away too long, could you? Allura thought wryly) didn't look much better.

"Keith." Shiro finally said, slowly, carefully into the complete silence that had fallen after Allura's rant. He placed his hand on Keith's shoulder, a fragile hope growing in his eyes, along with determination and love. Finally shown openly.  "I think we need to have a talk."

Keith looked at him, tentative, unsure, but also so, so hopeful and just as obviously in love. "Yeah. I, um-"

He looked at Allura a little desperately, but Allura was busy doing her best to teleport herself from the room. Her mind was flashing with multiple inward, imagined signs saying 'FINALLY!' and she would rather throw herself into a pit of yowling Nekszaks then interrupt them now.

"I'll just leave you to it, shall I? Enjoy your- talk." She said before smiling brightly as she hit the panel to shut the door.

They would figure it out... or she would revaluate whether or not the team really needed their Black Paladins to get back to Earth. Surely, such a trip could be accomplished without them?

Because if Allura had to deal with anymore utterly ridiculous, difficult to watch misunderstood pining happening right in front of her, everyday, she was dumping them on a secluded moon where they could be alone together until they did figure it out.

And she didn't think the rest of the team would mind one. Bit.

thank you! i honestly just went out to my friend’s bday dinner yesterday night and chilled at home all day today. i’m supposed to hang with my dad and probably go out driving tomorrow so we’ll see. as of rn, i’m fooling myself into thinking that i’m gonna work on my english paper rn but i’m compromising and telling myself to just find quotes and write my thesis then saving the actually writing for tomorrow. but LMAO I’M GLAD YOU CAN RELATE. LMAO IT’S OK. i spoil myself a lot with shows and movies bc i’m a big like movie person especially in the MCU and horror cuz i like knowing that what i’m watching is worth all the fuss (this goes for most movies in general) although for black panther i didn’t spoil myself because i could feel it in my gut that it would end my entire existence and guess what it did? ended my entire existence. i only played an interactive story app abt superheroes and it was so freakin’ cool. now this makes me want to replay it ‘cuz it’s just a trip man. the story line is great and i love the idea of superpowers. and omg that story of yours sounds so cool! like imo a trope / plot can seem “cliche” but how you execute it is what really makes the biggest different! like make me feel!!! make me love and hate your characters!!!!!!!! but yeah, honestly, i’m really starting to disbelieve in my skills at writing multi-part fics bc it’s a STRUGGLE. i write to finish i think. but i’m challenging myself to write series bc i have a few that i reallyyyyyyyyyyy want to write. and holy shit 20k????????? that’s amazing! i’ve only done that like once and i haven’t read it in hella long.

whenever i get around to it (man, i’m starting to get annoyed with myself for using this phrase kjsdhkjfsh), i will most def hit you up!!!!!!!! my first fic was like......... uh.... fuck i can’t even remember but i will admit i did try writing twilight fanfic too. in terms of kpop, my first was this jungkook drabble that i never saved and actually deleted after a few days but another one was this yoongi drabble that i currently have up rn that isn’t too bad. but ok girl telling me, a girl who thrives off structure and a basis, that something is broad is HELL for me. like i really need to think things over and make sure it makes sense and it’s just hard. i struggle but i’m trying.

(Sasha/Ed)

The reflection staring back at Sasha is wild. Face flush, unruly cotton candy fluff hair spotted with chip crumbs. Their favorite lime green eyeshadow melting off into a sweaty mess on their dark cheek bones, Frosted Rose lip shimmer streaked across their chin and the rim of the red plastic cup cradled in their hand. Eheh, they looked sooooo cute, like a soupy clown, like a cute little soupy clownnnn. The heat in Sasha’s cheeks spikes and a flicker of yellow with splotches of orange spreads over their neck like a persistent rash.

“Ooooh no-no no no”, they giggle, waving a finger unsteadily at their reflection. “You stop that right now, soupy clown, you don’t-don’t want people to— “, their voice drops to a whisper, least someone outside hear, “—to find out your secret identity.”

They try to focus, can’t, finish off the last of their drink because they are probably just thirsty, got distracted trying to figure out what the sharp tang was (grape soda with vodka? Peach schnapps and blue Gatorade?), realize their shoes are missing and check the medicine cabinet and find a used nail file, and are half-way through buffing their toenails when someone pounds at the bathroom door.

“Occ-uuu-pied”, Sasha sing-songs. The pounding increases in tempo, rattling around in their head. Sasha stumbles, yanks her sandal off and chucks it at the door with a satisfying clunk. Oh, goody, that’s where they got to! “Wait your turn, pleases and thanks yous!”

“Christ Sasha, can you open the door?”

Oh. Oh-oh-oh they knew that voice. Sasha skids back to the mirror, wipes away the stray shimmer and eyeshadow, only now there’s Rose Frost on their cheeks instead. But it looks cute as hell as a highlight, so it’s really a bonus. The bathroom lock is stuck and Sasha jiggles and pulls at it before they lean against the door in exhausted frustration and it abruptly swings outward, sending them tumbling headlong into what feels like an animated lamppost, all long and gangly and hard. 

“Eddy!!!” Sasha yells over the swell of music, hanging onto his shirt front. People are pressed in around them, the party still going strong. Ed glowers down, down, down at them, grabs onto their shoulders to steady them.

“What were you doing— “

“Where did Marcos go, he said he’d watch the door?”

Ed blinks, confused. Oh, he looked so cute when he was confused, a bemused giraffe with red wire rimmed glasses. “He said you needed help?”

“What?” Sasha blurts, then suddenly realizes what a smarty-smart Marcos was. Wasn’t Sasha just telling him how disappointed they were that Eddie was avoiding everyone and sulking in a dark corner? “Why yes”, they say self-assuredly, “yes, I do need help.”

They proudly point at their face where they can feel the dull warmth of the glow as it creeps up their neck to their ear. Ed starts in concern, glances anxiously around but no one’s paying them any attention in the chaos of a flock of frat boys having a chug off. Still, Ed positions his considerable bulk between Sasha and the room, blocking them from view. Soooo considerate.

“Sasha, you know I can’t actually help with that, right? Aren’t your powers, you know— “, he casts about for the right description, “—an ‘alien mood ring’, or whatever?”

“Oh, you remembered!!!” Sasha claps their hands in delight. Sometimes they worry that Eddie doesn’t pay attention to the important bits when they chat at him during patrol.

Eyes narrowing, Ed bends down, sniffs loudly at Sasha’s mouth and frowns. He speaks on a long sigh.

“Are you drunk?”

“Maybeeee, but only a teensy bit.” They pinch their thumb and forefinger together to demonstrate just how not drunk they are. “Just had some of the punch, only a cup or three, it’s de-lic-ious!!” 

“What happened to the list?” Oh deary, Eddie sounds annoyed again. A new song starts, something with a lot of throbbing bass, and Sasha bounces along to the beat, pulling at Ed’s arms to get him to join in. Regrettably, he remains stubbornly rooted to the spot so that he looks like a giant marionette as Sasha swings his arms for him.

He continues, nonplussed, “I thought you said your body couldn’t digest milk, nuts, glutton--do you even know how alcohol effects Esnexians?”

“My Pa drinks all the time.” At least, they’d seen him open wine at dinner. But maybe that was just so they could pour Dad a glass? “Besides, it’ll only affect me half as much then. You need to relax Eddie-- you should try some, it’s part of the experience!! All the best college movies have drinking in them!!”

“I fear for the future of the education system.” His eyes dart to the ground. “And it wouldn’t really, uh, make a difference if I did. I can’t get drunk. Invulnerability extends to the small stuff, too.” 

“Oh, that’s terrible”, Sasha moans. 

“Horrible.” His tone is deadpan, but an odd look passes over his face. He sounds like he’s talking to himself when he says, “I can’t taste, can’t feel anything, really. Everything’s just been dulled for years…”

It was strange seeing Eddie without the cool mask of cynicism. He tried to avoid talking about his powers, but from what Sasha’d gleamed it was more of a pain in the butt than people excepted, not being able to feel things. Seeing him being so vulnerable made Sasha want to wrap him in a warm blanket with a mug of hot coco and mini marshmallows, but he probably wouldn’t like that.

Oh.

Wait

Oh yes, that was brilliant!

They release his arms and clasp a hand on either side of his face, straining on the tippy-tip of their toes to do so, and even than it’s a wobbly attempt. Despite an expression of weary fear, Ed bends forward obligingly so that they’re both eye level. 

“Eddie.”

“Sasha.”

“Eddie”, they say with as much gravitas as they can manage with double vision. “Just because your powers suck doesn’t mean you suck.”

His mouth is open to respond but Sasha’s faster, smashing their mouth to his enthusiastically. Teeth bump jarringly and Ed’s hand automatically grab their waist as Sasha overbalances. His palms are large and warm on their bare skin, his lips soft with the faint waxy taste of chapstick.

With a smacking sound Sasha pulls away for air, beams into Ed’s dazed face. He looks like a building fell on his head—they’d seen it’d happen before.

“So”, they say, booping his nose, “did you feel that?”

Ed’s fingers briefly press against his lips curiously. He smiles softly (a real one, not sad at all!!) before his eyes widen in alarm. “Is that supposed to happen?”

Following his gaze down, Sasha’s sees their skin is now a radioactive grape soda purple glow that pulsates lazily. Little freckles of pink bob in and out of the stream, like the lava in a lava lamp. Fascinated, they hold their hand up in front of their face and giggle at the hazy reflection in Ed’s glasses.

“Oh, I’m prettyyyyyy!!”

“Put it out before someone sees!”

Instinctively they both glance about. A guy in sweatpants and nothing else stands barely five feet from them, staring back with glassy eyes. An awkward moment passes and the guy shrugs, stuffs the remains of a brownie into his mouth and pushes past into the bathroom.

Booming laughter shakes Ed’s frame, startling Sasha into a giggle fit of her own. His laugh isn’t like his normal voice at all, full of adorable snorts and wordless gasps. After a while he’s pulled himself together enough to stand and take Sasha’s hand in his. He’s too tall to sling their arm over his shoulder, so settles for letting them curl it around his waist instead.

“Let’s get some fresh air”, he says, chortling still.

Sasha stumbles along next to him happily. “Sounds fun!!”

A/N: Hey guys!! I’m so sorry to the anon who sent it, I’m sorry that I posted so late😅 But I still hoped that you had a great birthday!! Btw, I hope that you don’t mind that I didn’t add smut, I wasn’t really in a feel for writing that and I’m scared it wouldn’t turn out that well haha. I also just realised that I don’t really post on weekends and it’s because I’m usually slightly busy on those two days, I help out at an animal shelter on Saturdays and Sundays are usually family day so yeah…I’ll still try to post as much as I can though!! So one time you visit him in the Tower and want to surprise him but when you open the door to his room you see him all wet coming just out of the shower. You get all flustered and shy again but Buck finds it totally cute. He then pulls you in for a sweet kiss which slowly grows more intense and you ask Buck to be your first that night? You stared up at the tall building in front of you, biting your lips in uncertainty as you hesitated to enter. What if he’s busy? Should you enter?

Taking a deep breath in, you entered the building. You had come all this way to surprise your boyfriend as he recently had been so busy with his missions that he couldn’t come see you and you missed him so you weren’t going to let this chance slip past you as you heard that he had just came back.

He was part of the Avengers, and being part of them meant that you won’t really have much free time and you hated that his job requires him to put his life on the line. You knew that his life wasn’t very peachy in the beginning, being the Winter Soldier and all, and that now it was a lot better however you still couldn’t help but feel very worried for him.

As you stepped into the lift, you started fiddling with your fingers as you sighed, feeling slightly nervous that the team were all there. You were fine with them, it’s just that you get a bit overwhelmed when there’s too many people, and it also sucked that you were shy.

“Oh, Y/N, hey.”

You looked up as the lift door opened, seeing Steve pause in front of the lift.

“Hi,” you greeted, a small smile on your face as you looked side to side seeing that no one was there.

Steve seemed to know what you were thinking as he smiled. “Don’t worry, the rest are off doing their own things. You here to see Bucky?”

You nodded as he gestured you to the couch. “Just wait here, I’ll go get him.”

“No, no, that’s alright,” you said, immediately stopping Steve in his footsteps as you gave him an awkward smile. “I came here to surprise him and if you go and get him, it won’t really be a surprise, will it?”

You laughed sheepishly as you scratched your head. Steve gave you a look of understanding as he grinned. “You know where his room is?”

“He showed it to me once, I think I can remember,” you replied as Steve nodded and told you to have fun before leaving. You felt slightly embarrassed as he said that, you mumbled under your breath as you headed to Bucky’s room.

Standing in front of Bucky’s room, you felt a smile spread on your face as you couldn’t help but feel excited as you haven’t seen him for quite some time. Knocking on the door, you entered, closing the door behind you as you looked up.

“Buc-” You stopped halfway with a squeak, immediately turning around, your face feeling very warm as the image of Bucky standing there with a just a towel hanging low on his waist, water droplets dripping off him was imprinted on your mind.

“Y/N?” Bucky called but you didn’t turn back as you felt yourself blush even more.

“B-Bucky,” you greeted, facing the door as you heard Bucky chuckling.

“You’re adorable,” Bucky whispered directly beside you, making you jerk as he managed to startle you. You didn’t even hear his footsteps coming closer. “Look how red you’ve become.”

“Shut up,” you mumbled. “Whose fault is that?”

Bucky placed his hand on your shoulder and turned you, you quickly raised your hand to cover your face.

“Are you trying to cover your eyes or hide how red your face is?” Bucky asked, amusement laced in his voice.

“Both,” you replied, your voice muffled as you were covering your whole face.

You heard Bucky laugh before feeling his hands wrapping around your wrists, his metal hand feeling cold against your warm skin. He moved them away from your face and you came face to face to with an amused looking Bucky staring at you. Bucky’s hair was slicked back with water, a stray lock of hair falling forward, making him look devilishly handsome, especially with that grin on his face.

“I miss your face,” you blurted out, your gaze dropping to the ground but immediately snapping back up to look at his face as you realized when you look down, you could see his bare body, and the v-line that dipped down below the towel.

Bucky just stared at you before laughing, using his hand to cup your cheek. “I miss your face too, doll.”

He leans down and gives you a short kiss before pulling apart, the two of you staring at each other before he leans down again to kiss you. You closed your eyes as you wound your arms around Bucky’s neck as he wrapped his arms around your waist.

Bucky licked your bottom lip and you granted him access, letting his tongue explore your mouth as you lightly grazed yours against his. You tugged on his hair slightly, hearing him groan as he slanted his mouth over yours again and again.

When the two of you pulled apart, Bucky rested his forehead against yours, both of you out of breath. Bucky looked at you, a smile slipping on his face as he leaned forward to give you a peck. “I guess that all it needed to get you to kiss me like that was just to wear only a towel, huh?”

You felt a warm tingly sensation all over as you stared into his eyes, wanting something but you were slightly unsure about what you wanted. It was then you realized, you wanted Bucky. “I’m ready.”

Bucky looked surprised as you looked at you. “Ready?”

“I love you, Bucky, and I trust you,” you started to say and Bucky stared at you, understanding dawning on him.

“Are you sure?” Bucky asked unsurely. “I don’t want to rush you or anything.”

“It’s okay, I want it,” you said, a smile your face as you traced patterns on the back of his neck, seeing that it was distracting him slightly. “I know you wouldn’t do anything that I wouldn’t like.”

“Your trust in me is overwhelming, sweetheart,” Bucky said, looking satisfied as he suddenly carried you and place you on his bed as he loomed over you. “I’ll take it slow, if you don’t like it, you ca-”

You shut him up by pulling him down and smashed your lips against his, both of you kissing passionately before you pulled away, smirking at Bucky’s bewildered look. Bucky seemed to snap out of it as he suddenly looked at you with a sly look as you felt your smile drop, a shiver going down your spine.

“Well, let’s begin, shall we?”

♥️ MY BTS WINGS TOUR IN ANAHEIM EXPERIENCE (04/01/2017) ♥️

SNEAK PEAK: The chaos in the morning for the official line to get the numbered wristbands. Soundcheck. Eye contact with Jungkook, Jimin and J-hope. BTS solos. CYPHER!!! Getting baptized by the holy J-hope. Throwing the two Mickey ears on the stage and making one of the most iconic SOPE moments in the history happen.

OKAY so, I arrived there at 6:30am because I had P1 GA with soundcheck and there was already a line outside the venue with a security guard In front. At 7:45~7:50am (as soon as the security sent a go signal) EVERYBODY RAN!! I mean RAN!! It was absolutely insane and TERRIFYING!! The sound of foodsteps was so loud and the pushing was so bad that people literally fell and others just ran over them!! And this happened RIGHT in front of me! I was so scared and felt so sorry for those people! There were people falling head first, injuring their knees n legs literally drawing blood! I was just running and couldn’t see where because of the sun and I heard my friend calling out to me who was already in the line. She had to GRAB me so I wouldn’t get washed away by the TSUNAMI OF PEOPLE! Yes TSUNAMI!!! At this point I was terrified To death and thought “if this is just for the line how bad is it gonna be at the actual concert?!” And really wanted to trade for a Seated But I didn’t lol nobody with Seated wanted GA and that was completely understandable! Anyways, now we’re in the official line waiting To get our numbered wristbands (my number was 226) which wasn’t that bad. At the end of the day there were over a thousand people with GA Wristbands! Anyways, after the wristband there comes the merch line, again it was insane! In terms of length. I got sunburnt because of how Long I stood in that line under the sun! But thankfully I got my jungkook picket!! It’s huge!! At this time, it was around 1:45pm and they said the soundcheck people should line up starting at 2:45pm. I took this time to really hydrate myself since I heard people have fainted Because of dehydration. I drank 4 bottles of water! Lol 😂 but I mean I guess it helped cuz I didn’t faint. The security told the Soundcheck people to line up at 2:30 based on their numbers which was good and horrible at the same time. Their organization skills were 0!! After we lined up, they opened the doors and checked the bags and stuff and LET ME TELL U when they say the security is pretty strong..NOPE IT WAS NOT! THE SECURITY DIDNT EVEN OPEN MY BAG AND LET ME GO THROUGH!! Like wtf?? There was no picture/video allowed during the soundcheck. OH I FORGOT SOMETHING!! while we were behind the doors waiting for the security to tell us when to line up, WE COULD HEAR BTS PERFORMING INSIDE!! WE WERE LIKE shouldn’t we be in there?? Isn’t this the soundcheck we were supposed attend?? It was awful and sad af and we just chanted the lyrics from outside :,) one song I could clearly hear from outside was cypher and I was like :,,,,) I wanna be there! Okay now back to the Story: now were inside, all of soundcheck people had to stand on the left side of the runway towards the main stage. The view was great and people didn’t push at all!! They were standing still and everyone had enough space for themselves to breath and do whatever. We waited and waited until BTS came out!!! First was jimin! they were all in their sweat pants like they just came straight out from their dorm :,) No makeup no nothing AND JUNGKOOK WAS WEARING A CAP!! 😭 they all looked like college boys you see every day (BUT OF COURSE THEYRE MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL) jungkook looked much more slim than his pictures, idk if it was becuz of the loose clothing or what but he was slim. They all Kinda looked tired too. I held up the picket as soon as they walked in and Jimin came right in front of the stage where we were at AND JIMIN MADE AN EYE CONTACT WITH ME!!! When ppl say jimin stares at u when he makes eye contact THEYRE NOT LYING!! I screamed and jumped up an down so hard THEN came Yoongi! He was in all black and looked hot af! He waved at us shortly then went back to the middle of main stage And JHOOOOOOPE!! He’s literally a living sunshine!! He was so bubbly and smiley and greeted us with such energy and positivity all the pain In my body from the last 19 years went away :,) AND THEN JUNGKOOK OMG!!! When he stood in front of the stage where we were at, I held up the Picket so high AND HE SAW IT!!! HE MADE AN EYE CONTACT WITH ME AND NODDED SHAKEGSKAVDKA!!! My baby noticed me now I can die happily :,,) Jin was pretty attentive with fans too!! He made eye contact with as many people as he could and all Jin stans were living their lives!! Then Taehyung and Namjoon. They greeted us and started rehearsing. They only did three songs first was 21st century girl 2nd save me and I CANNOT REMEMBER THE THIRD ONE😭 (it might’ve been Am I Wrong) but we all did the fan chants and it was so loud and beautiful Tae was trying so hard to hold in his smile :,) It was good and then it was over… it wasn’t an hour or even half an hour :( it was around 10 mins and then they were gone 😭 Then we got out, waiting to get into the official line for the concert, we started at 5pm. THANKFULLY they really did go by the number policy and now everything was starting to feel a lot more organized so we all were happy lol. Fast forward to getting inside the venue again I really wanted to be in front of the extended stage but there were a lot of people there already so we ended up at the side of the extended. BUT the view was excellent!! We were in the second row and could see everything perfectly! Which was awesome~ when we were waiting for the show, a girl passed out three headbands (Mickey ears) to us and asked us to throw them on the stage at the end of the concert for them. I got the silver one, the one that was had Jungkook written on the ears and wore it on my head. The security told us that if we throw anything on the stage we will get kicked out, but I told the girl who gave us the headbands to not worry and I WILL throw it for them. It was gonna be at the end of the concer anyways and at that point nobody’s gonna listen anymore. […] its 7:55pm and we’re losing our shit!!! Only 5 more minutes!! They played Spring day mv and we all sang with it! It was beautiful :,) then was VCR AND THEN NOT TODAY!!!! LIT LIT LIT!!! So good!! Sooooo good!! Since it was on the main stage I had difficulty seeing them but it still was awesome!!! People really did the fan chants throughout the whole show Their solos were so nice, YOONGI’s SOLO MAN… it was beautiful! I get chills even thinking about it! I cried, really did cry Cuz I can really relate myself with that song and the experience he went through and just the feeling, the vibe of his performance was like Re-living that experience. It was beautiful. I was wiping my tears when jimin jk jin and tae came up on the extended stage for LOST!! I STARTED SCREAMING AND JUMPING WHILE MY FACE WAS STILL WET FROM THE TEARS!! Jimin came to our side and AGAIN MADE AN EYE CONTACT WITH ME!! LET ME TELL U!! JIMIN AND JHOPE MADE ALOT OF EYE CONTACTS WITH ME THROUGHOUT THE SHOW BUT JIMIN MAN… HE STARES AT U FOR A WHOLE 10 SECONDS! WHEN HE SAW ME I BLEW A KISS AT HIM LIKE JIN AND THEN HE LOOKED DOWN omg!! It was insanely good!! JUNGKOOK ON THE OTHER HAND… I HELD UP TWO JK FANS WITH A JK SLOGAN JUST TO GET A LILL EYE CONTACT WITH HIM THROUGHOUT THE SHOW BUT I GOT NONE!!! NOT EVEN A GLANCE IM SO SAD YALL, my arms were on fire for holding the slogan so high up for such a long time but NOPE!! He kept looking up at the Seated ppl :,,,,) I’m not sad (I’m dying inside) anywayyyyys Namjoon’s solo :,) ppl did the “WE LOVE YOU” and it was beautiful! Jin’s solo was STUNNING!!! And Jhope’s was….GODLY!!! He was smiley throughout his whole solo and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Omg I love him so much!! CYPHER YALL… C Y P H E R!!!! FINALLY I GOT BAPTIZED BY THE HOLY JHOPE!!! JHOPE BAPTIZED OUR SIDE AND YOONGI THE OTHER! I CANT BELIEVE I WAS PART OF IT OMG ITS UNREAL!! The whole show was fantastic but I was unable to record much SINCE I WAS BUSY TRYING MY ASS TO GET NOTICED BY JUNGKOOK 😒 but I recorded wings :,) fast forward the the end of the show when they were bowing to say goodbye and I took the chance! I removed the headband from my head and threw it on the stage!! I threw it so far but thankfully It didn’t fall. I was extremely careful when throwing it and making sure it didn’t hit any of them! Now, the headband I was wearing the whole show and threw it was the silver one and the girl gave me the other (black) To throw that as well WHICH ENDED UP ON SOPE’s HEADS!!!!!! JHOPE WORE THE HEADBAND THAT WAS ON MY HEAD THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SHOW!! CAN YALL HEAR ME SCREAMING??? AND YOONGI WORE THE BLACK ONE!! Out of all the plushies and stuffed animals on stage SOPE CHOSE THE HEADBANDS I THREW FOR THEM :,,,) IM TOUCHED!!! But the security did ask who it was and lol I played it cool like “did anyone really throw something on stage?? Smh” lmaooooooo BUT OMG THAT WAS AMAZING I FEEL BLESSED!! THANK YOU JHOPE THANK YOU SUGA!!! I love u guys so much!!! AND TO JUNGKOOK!!!! PLEASE DO LOOK DOWN SOMETIMES WHEN YOURE ON STAGE!!! THERE MIGHT BE SOMEONE RIPPING HER ARM MUSCLES HOLDING UP UR SLOGAN JUST TO GET A QUICK GLANCE FROM U!! So please 🙏🏻 lol but all in all, it was an amazing experience and it still seems unreal to me! Now I’m really glad I didn’t trade for Seated cuz I was able to make one of the most iconic SOPE moments in history happen :,) Also, I feel weird asking this but, is it normal for someone to forget some of the songs they performed after the concert?? Becuz I literally can not remember I NEED U performance (which REALLY sucks since this song was one of my most favorite songs to see live!!) and BOY IN LUV and some of the other songs in their medley and that’s HELLA depressing :,) but thankfully I clearly remember all of their solos! I forgot to tell u this but JUNGKOOKS SOLO WAS COOL AF!!! The way they edited his performance and play/showed it in the background of him singing/dancing was so beautiful and epic! It was classy! And omfg don’t even get me started about JIMINS SOLO… I’m sure you all have already seen his lie performance so I’m gonna shut up now and leave lmao Thank you for reading my crazy experience and I hope and wish for those of you who haven’t seen them live to really get a chance and attend their concert!!! And don’t worry! You WILL see them live one day! Two years ago when I started liking BTS and was already head over heels for them, they had already announced their LA concert and it was too late for me to get a ticket and all the prices were so high I couldn’t afford it. I cried myself to sleep listening to Let Me Know while they were performing literally one hour away from me. But thankfully I did get a chance to see them at Kcon LA 2016 and their Wings Tour! So do not worry 😊 you all WILL get to see them one day! Hope u have a nice day ❤ BYE~!
