I wish I could find a doctor that wants to find out what’s actually wrong with me instead of recommending prescriptions to address the symptoms. I’m so tired of being recommended ibuprofen for debilitating pain. Tired of relaying my medical history to a new doctor and getting the same furrowed brow and shrugging shoulders I get every time. its like so fucked to me that PCOS is almost always diagnosed in middle aged women bc of fertility issues unless the person in question has a very obvious and severe case or lobbies their doctor at length about it. this would not be so upsetting to me if PCOS didn't massively increase your risk of developing type 2 diabetes in a way that is largely preventable! or if PCOS didn't make it damn near impossible to lose weight, meaning many people have their symptoms dismissed be it for other health problems or PCOS symptoms themselves over something they have next to no control over.

and it's like despite all the awful shit he's done and continues to do, like, i get it. he's employed like 24/7/365. he never got to live a life, despite spending a childhood clinging to the hope of having one someday. He knew companionship and love but lost it and can't ever get it back. well if we’re trying to be medically accurate on bungostraydogs.edu, the disease state that actually COULD theoretically fit Akutagawa Ryuunosukes symptoms (chronic cough, hemoptysis, life-limitation, stunted growth, difficulty gaining weight) it could either be cystic fibrosis or primary ciliary dyskinesia.

for metaphorical reasons I like primary ciliary dyskinesia better for him because dextrocardia (your heart being flipped so it’s on the right side instead of the left) is really common, so it could be like… commentary about his heart being in literally the wrong place. Or something

So I got a kidney infection out of nowhere with no preceding bladder infection or UTI. On top of that I got FOUR canker sores in my mouth at the same time. AND a fever blister/cold sore.

My irrational paranoia that the weird ass nurse who felt the need to point out we were in a high school class together somehow sabotaged my colonoscopy results bc we were in a religious class where I was vocal about gay rights seems less irrational by the day
