plagiarism is shitty, i shouldn't have to say that. it is not that hard to just write your own stuff. i know validation and publicity make you feel good, but stealing someone else's hard work is not the way to go. writers already have enough to deal with. just don't do it. what's the point of getting validation if it's not even your work?

again, don't send death threats, please. that's a bit far, and they likely won't even do anything since the plagiarizer has already been called out before and this was their response.

DECEMBER IS OVER!!! New Year, What's Next?

Well chat, with literally three minutes to spare we finished out DCA December IN December, and then of course you got a little bonus thingy as well hehe :)

So! Having said that, wanted to take a moment to talk about some plans, what to expect to see from me next, and so on

BUT FIRST, I would like to take the time to thank everyone who sent in requests for this little event, I appreciated every single one of them, and had SO much fun writing, I hope everyone enjoyed the little stories I wrote, couldn't have done it without everyone sending in such creative & unique ideas, thank all of you so much!

Additionally, thank you to everyone who liked, reblogged, or commented on these fics, it's so very appreciated (I would tag everyone but there are, a startingly large amount of you 😅) I will come clean and admit that I am always a little nervous when I upload my writing, so knowing that people enjoy my work when I share it is, humbling, to say the least <3

Okay! Now to get into it, below the cut just so people dont have to scorll through my rambling plans & such (there is a POLL however that even if you skip my nonsense you should vote in pretty please ^-^)

So, despite some shortcomings with me getting a bit behind (curse you sinus infection & finals week) I'm really happy with how this went!

I'll be taking a break for a bit and def will NOT be posting as much as I did near the end there, BUT I'll still be writing per usual, especially since I have two weeks left to my break. Before I get into what you can expect to see, wanted to do a quick interest check on whether people would like me to do something similar for Valentine's!

Since I'll be back at college again I won't be able to do a full month again, buuuut, I should be able to handle 14 days worth, if the interest is there I would open up requests probably the last week of January so I had time to get started/ahead. So,

Rules would be the same as for DCA December, except with a Valentine's Theme!

Now that that's taken care of, here's what'll be going on with me as we start 2025!

I'm working on Holiday Spirit ch. 2, should be posting either today or tomorrow! Still aiming to get it done before I go back to school so expect quicker updates now that requests are finished :) (you can find out more about this story here)

Confused Spirit ch. 36 is also in the works! I'll be honest in that my sinus infection JUST cleared up a week or so ago, and additionally i've been facing a bit of writer's block with the story just bc of where we're at and I want to make sure it's really good/properly expresses what I'm going for with this fic, but I'm working on getting more out to you all soon, as well as working on getting ahead again while I have time, thank you all for your paitence with this one, it's very appreciated <3 (if you don't know about Confused Spirit, you can find out more here, it's my current main dca project :D)

DCA December will be reviewed for spelling and grammar mistakes and be uploaded to ao3 throughout January, if you'd like to read anything again (or you're wanting to get caught up and have a better reading experience) you can see the masterpost here, which will have the ao3 link once I get started on editing

Getting into non-fic things, I'll also be working on organizing my blog so things are easier to find as I know it's a bit messy currently >_< bear with me as it gets fixed up

I really want to improve on my art! After collecting things up for my 2024 art summary, i realized I've improved a lot but still have more room to grow (and many ideas that I want to see made by a more skilled hand >~<) so, expect to see some art things from me floating around including but not limited to: my trick or treat responses (im sorry these are so late, it's brutal out here), Cast of CS refs, more Holiday Spirit doodles, magma things, CS chapter promos, & new refs for the CS boys! there's some more things i have planned but I am keeping them a secret for now ;)

Timeline of GGDD Love

Hi yall. This is the index post for the BTS in Order posts. This is the post to bookmark if you want to refer to it later! (The first chunk is just copypasta from the April intro. Read More to get to the links)

I've looked for timelines of the bts before, but what I've found relies heavily on video clips, many of which I don't have access to. So I decided to make a text-focused timeline in English for the bts because I'm all up in my hyperfocus.

I mainly used this playlist on billibilli, though I also looked at a few other playlists (I didn't keep links, I suck). If I came across a video/reference w another date listed for the clip, I added the alternate date in parenthesis at the end. I chose to primarily follow this playlist bc it has a LOT of clips, has clips for every day, and doesn't have anything that immediately jumps out at me as wrong. I also cross-referenced with accio-victuuri's BJYX Timeline bc it's the most complete English timeline I've seen, and I respect the effort involved. And I ultimately I triple-checked against this weibo timeline. Again, alternate dates noted in parenthesis. Not all sources always agreed.

(the note on the primary playlist has this as its explanation of its dating: 广告以官宣日期为整��依据,若跨年度拍摄,则以最新发布日期为依据整理。Which Google translates to "The advertisement is based on the official announcement date as a whole and, if shot across the year, on the latest release date." I can't parse that so *shrug*)

I've listed out the bts scenes by date. I try to describe the known scenes, though I don't list out in detail EVERYTHING that happens (if I say "Xuanwu cave, bondage conversation", I assume you all know everything else that happens around that moment)(Though sometimes I get hype and fangirlish in the descriptions). A lot of scenes were unknown to me, so I tried to describe the setting, costumes, and vaguely what's happening. Most of the scenes I did recognize had more to the clip than the ones I've seen translated.

As none of what I watched had translations, I can't provide much context with that, I'm afraid. I also do not think these are in order within a day. I don't have any way to tell, so the timeline within the day, itself, is probably wonky.

I only included bts for the most part, not stuff the boys were doing outside the production. Everything's color coded. Scenes with only gg are in red. Scenes with only dd are in green. Scenes with both are orange (yellow just isn't readable, sorry). (If there's text with no color, just assume it's the same as the last colored text)

I wrote this literally by going back and forth between billibilli and Google Keep, so the notes are a little off the cuff. Let me know if you have questions or if you don't understand something. Or if you can't identify a particular bts scene you're curious about.

People are also completely free to take this and flesh it out if they want by adding the non-bts stuff. Any mistakes are mine. People are free to correct it as well. Basically, consider this public property for other turtles. So take it, make it your own, create a comprehensive google sheet that details everything in pretty color-coded order with media links that are cross-referenced, filterable, and sortable or whatever (PLEASE SOMEBODY DO THIS).

No need to credit. If you feel you have to, just say a stoopid turtle did it.

hi I just wanna say as a fellow person with bpd, I feel rlly heard by that post you made (the one w only tags) and I wish more people talked abt this bc last year my bpd episode was so bad it left me bedridden all summer. I dread experiencing something like that again and I sincerely hope I don’t. the effects that mental illnesses have on our physical health are scary. i hope that whatever you’re going through gets better soon, and remember - you aren’t alone

I'm sorry you had to spend so long out like that man, that sucks so bad. I feel you.

It's insane to me that there's ever any distinction made between 'physical health' and 'mental health' in the professional world because they're both physical imo. They're linked inherently. And yeah, you end up suffering for one because of the other on a loop and it's so unfair.

What I will say, for my fellow BPDers, is that I'm realising that all is not lost. We'll never be cured but there are things out there that teach you to cope and manage better. I have found DBT absolutely invaluable to me and despite only having been in it for a few months, the change in myself is huge.

I would recommend reaching out to see if you can get any help with that type of therapy, and if you can't get it professionally, consider buying/downloading the Linehan DBT manual for yourself. DBT is the primary BPD treatment. That book is full of the same worksheets I'm using now and the exercises really are so useful.

This is the textbook all DBT therapists use, and while it does have technological terms/phrasing in it that won't make sense to us if we don't practise professionally, you will probably find the exercises themselves to be useful. Plus, you can also find videos from professionals explaining them if you can't do it alone. Linehan does talks on youtube too. Fuck, even if you don't have BPD but struggle with your emotions generally, check it out.

Hii it's the anon who sent the ask Abt looking other places for fanfic so I found this longfic called Ocean Mist on Wattpad and there's specifically a chapter called "Ticklish", Yuu finds out Azul is ticklish in that one and it's sooo cute(tbh I just loved the whole fic so much flustered Azul <3)

Additionally, on AO3, you may or may not have found these already because they're not tagged but they're tkl fics

Tickle Attack (You notice the octatrio isn't feeling well, cheer-up tickles ensue)

Tsuisorando Shotsu (I'm not sure if I spelled the name right, but there are quite a few tkl fic chapters in there, I think it's best to just select "read entire work" and command-f "tickl" bc that's what I did to avoid anything potentially explicit) But just in case you don't want to come across anything like that, there's the chapter 'Our Lovable Octopus' which might have had one vague explicit implication but I don't think there was anything major and the tickling was wholly sfw

A Fine Line Between - I just liked this fic in general the M isn't for any sexual content, and there's a tkl scene (if you wanna skip to just that part, I'd recommend just clicking read entire work and command-f 'tickl')

Also, I'm not sure if you already know this (probably do, but just in case) there's some fics w/Azul that were made in 2023)

On Wattpad, NGL I just looked up 'twst tickl' and sifted through the stuff I got so sorry that I couldn't rec much stuff, also I saw this one that was a transcript of tkl audios but there was an explicit chapter in there meaning this was probably a kink for them so I clicked out)

Ffn's mostly AO3 cross posting so there isn't anything there you wouldn't find on AO3 (I'm saying this to myself because I was about to check only to realize that everything there's on AO3, sorry)

Tbh I mostly looked for every single fic I could find on AO3 and then ended up also finding sfw tkl scenes in the process (I also command F'd a bunch of longfics) so I can mostly just say specific scenes from certain fics sryyy

28. On average, how much writing do you get done in a day?

Pshhhhh uhhhh…. I’m actually just coming off of an event where i wrote like 35k in the span of 5 weeks which is. Not typical ! This past week-ish I have written exactly Zero words (: …at like. Normal times, I probably can do a solid 1k or in that ballpark. I have been known to bang out like 3k in a day if I’m rly in the zone (i was Unwell last july LMFAO) but also I rly don’t typically write every day. Would like to! Need to build a new schedule though. Hard for me to write on the days when I work but I only work part time atm. I am also. Kind of a slow writer usually. I’ve only written as much as I have bc I write frequently ! ((Or I try to))

30. Do you share rough drafts or do you wait until it’s all polished?

Good god I think I’d perish if I shared rough drafts. Like, on ao3… is that a thing..? So like. My shit isn’t perfect. There’s definitely typos I’ve missed and all that jazz, but I usually heavily edit my chapters before posting. The event I did recently was also like my first time having a beta which was neat but. This is rly silly, bear with me - so I had two separate docs for that, one I wrote the fic in and another that I shared w the betas, because the idea of someone having access to all my rough outlines and watching me on the doc as I write makes me Viscerally uncomfortable, I can’t rly explain it better than that. Anyways, the funny part is, said beta would point out a grammar mistake or typo, and I’d go “nice” and fix it, but forget to fix it on the other doc. So when I. When I posted the fic from the original doc… you can see where this is going maybe. Actual clown idiot moment LMFAO. Tl;dr - I attempt to polish. Doesn’t always turn out shiny jdjddjdk

42. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?

Ooh ! Last one I read was In The Clear by District11-Olive on FFN. So this one is technically thg but very au; it’s set in modern day Canada where a show called The Cut forced teenaged criminals to fight to the death in order to regain their freedom or get a “second chance”. It’s Really well written and also an excellent commentary on what it means to be a criminal and prison systems in general. This one’s actually the third and final installment of the series, wooh! It’s not complete yet; the story just reached the start of the death match part and its so 👁️👄👁️ It’s also a SYOC fic (Submit Your Own Character). Not open for submissions now, but u might see some of my characters if you check it out c:

Gotta also rec The Furthest Star by geologyisms on FFN since I’m in the middle of (re) reading it.. again 🥺 This is the fic I received from the exchange I took part in recently ! So the main pov char Solan Gardener (D9 tribute in the male slot but uses they/them) was created by me but the story was written by erik/geologyisms ! Ve did such a lovely job with my kiddo u should definitely check it out!! 10/10 new comfort fic fr ;—;

I was tagged by @milkcrates​, who showed her process of making this gorgeous piece with Wei Wuxian and little A-Yuan!! It was awesome to see how it came to life - and thank you for tagging me! ✨

So I got tagged to show how this Yunmeng brothers + golden core art happened! I already included the digital sketch for it in my sketch vs final compilation, but I guess I can show some more!

This is gonna be long because I like talking a lot, so putting the rest under a cut!

1. Planning

SO.  A golden core pic was on my to-draw list as soon as I finished watching the show. I had a WIP of a different pic for that waiting, but actually I noticed that a very similar thing has already been drawn, so that was kinda dropped. But I’m glad I waited until the idea for this one slapped me! It was pretty much a moment of “w a i t a second” and I had to grab a random piece of paper to sketch it while I still had it in my head.

This is the sketch - as you can see from the coffee stains, it has been through some stuff. On the left I actually tried out some different ideas for the golden core - the 1st one was the winner and led to the whole leaking/water/rain theme. I ended up mirroring the whole sketch because I didn’t want Wei Wuxian’s hand to cover Jiang Cheng’s front hair wisp, as that would make that area too crowded.

Meta-wise: I wanted to show that the whole thing was kept as a secret from Jiang Cheng. But we also knew about it - so Wei Wuxian is breaking the 4th wall and looking at us [the audience] directly, shushing to keep it a secret as well. Then there’s his hand hovering over the blindfold - it was included in the show, but also sprinkles in that extra symbolism. Then there’s the rain - the sky crying for the two brothers, so you’re not sure if those are raindrops or tears on their faces + lotus pond for the Yunmeng vibes. As for the golden core, I wanted to make it kinda messy and leaking like blood + shining and make it the main light source of the piece. Also kinda like a glow stick liquid.

I also like finding fitting music to go with my art and this one was actually supposed to go with Avicii’s Hey Brother, but when I was looking it up on Spotify I saw Kodaline’s Brother right above, gave it a listen and then the lyrics hit me. So I already knew that they’re gonna go in the caption. Also apparently it’s like The Song for them and yeah, makes sense.

2. Creating

2.1 Set up and tools

I use Paint Tool SAI + Wacom Intuos S to do all my art! The entire pic was made on a 2000 x 3000 px canvas, since I don’t like to work too big because of limited brush sizes in SAI + I don’t want to torture my laptop, as my art takes up quite a lot of processing power with a lot of layers and modes and sometimes things like to crash at the final steps 😬.

2.2 Planning and composition

So I started off by doing a digital sketch and focusing on the composition a bit more - I wanted something geometrical, so I went for the diamond shape with Wei Wuxian’s silhouette and the placement of the lotuses. Also the composition is vertical, all the important info is in the middle column - you could cut off 2/3 of the picture and it would still tell the story.

2.3 Lineart

Then I did the lineart over the sketch layer (there was a more detailed one than the “planning” sketch, but it looks like I deleted it once I finished). I usually draw more than I have to and on separate layers, so that I can move/modify things easily later - for example JC’s headpiece here didn’t really make it that much into the final piece but It Was There. Once I was satisfied with the lineart, I cleaned it by erasing overlapping things, like Wei Wuxian’s clothes behind Jiang Cheng’s head.  

2.4 Planning the lighting

After doing the lineart I blocked the characters with a single color and planned the lighting. The golden core is the main light source here, so it dictates which parts are gonna be lighter and which darker (although there is gonna some ambient occlusion from the background + reflected light from the water). I also added water and lotuses in the foreground + painted the background.

2.5 Shading the characters

After that, I started shading the pic. I usually do two steps here - one with “base” shading - focusing on the details and values based on the light source, then the mood shading with more coloring - based on the setting the characters are in. The first one is mostly done with the Multiply tool and base layer blending/painting, the second mostly with layer modes like Overlay and Luminosity. I also colored some parts of the lineart to make the shapes stand out (see: wwx’s front hairs)

2.6 Environment and touch-up details

Then it was time for the water and lotuses + the “special effects” for the rain and all the stuff associated with it - water splashes, mist, sparkling drops! Also some more mood lighting. Lots of new layers to keep everything organized and separated.

2.7 Finished pic

And done! After finishing I usually adjust the contrast/gamma/saturation of my art (or just edit it all in curves) + sometimes sharpen it to bring out details → I make a few different versions and pick the one that works the best. Although with this pic I was satisfied with the raw result so no major changes happened.

3. Posting

For posting I always scale down the pictures and upload them as a draft on this art blog. Then I check if things look okay on mobile as well - from what I’ve noticed my phone makes everything more warm-toned. Depending on the time I finish drawing, I either post it right away or wait until the next day, when there is more traffic on tumblr. I finished this one around 8PM of my local time, which is fine - so I posted it right away (also I was just excited, couldn’t wait 😅)!

to explain rlly what i ment i have to be clear that i am in the cookie run fandom and that fandom has a LOT of queer characters many r canon nonbinary and there r a lot of widespread trans hcs. in that fandom, in the past, i specifically was very uneducated on trans stereotypes so when a very masculine cookie who for years the fandom saw as a man but had no canon prounons was announced to be a woman the fandom for a hot minute(including me) saw them as a trans woman. some trans ppl in the fandom got uncomfortable w/ that including some of my friends and one of my friend's friend explained the possibile transphobia of the hc and in a fandom never adopting widespread trans hcs for characters unless the fandom assumed they were the opposite gender ie a he/him cookie in makeup and a dress was always hced to use she/her or be a trans man. and at that time i genuinely was shocked that ppl were making these hcs w/ those intentions bc i never considered that bf. and in general? cookie run fandom just has so many issues man ppl never respect the nonbinary characters genders or any lesbain codded characters so ive learned to look at hcs that i see get adopted w/ a cynical eye bc im like "is this hc popular bc ppl see trans ppl that way or bc they like the character?" i am heavily fandom critical bc ive been burned before so id rather point out a possible issue in a hc than ignore it bc im giving the op the benefit of the doubt, i dont trust ppl like that anymore bc i have to be more critical of the things i see nowadays

Quick Time Player for screen recording

1. planning

yeah I don’t do that 😂 

my planning is like

these scenes, although a few moments/minutes apart, look to be filmed from the same angle/perspective

I bet they’d look nice by themselves 

then I screen record the whole 2 mins or whatever, tuck the clip away in a folder, and 80% of the time forget it’s there

which is why my laptop memory hates me

2. creation

Quick Time Player 

Screen recorded the 2 min scene w/no sound 

I trimmed 3 clips with Quick Time out of the 2 minute video, all of them about 2-3 seconds long

Made sure I quit Quick Time completely, or it will make iMovie crash lol

Imported the three clips

Exported as .mp4 

(settings)

then made sure I quit iMovie completely too, or it will make Photoshop crash lmao

Photoshop

Import video frames as layers

Trim + Resize (usually I start with 800 x 1200 or 600 x 900 depending on whether I’m working around hardcoded subtitles, logos, etc. bc that gives me 540 x 360 which is a size I prefer)

Convert to Smart Object

Sometimes I do my own sharpening, but here I think I used this action by rubyred (I think? I don’t remember) 

Before I start fiddling with colors, I always check if I have a psd that might work well with the scene (remember I’ve done no planning, so now I’m just flying by the seat of my pants)

By some miracle, I had saved the psd for the coloring I made for this Legend of Fei gifset + threw it on there to see how it looks

And it looked all right :)

If I remember, I throw on my watermark (I did for this one, yayy)

Export - Save for Web

If the gif is over 10MB I go back and trim some of it off (which is a guessing game bc trying to actually play a gif on Photoshop crashes it every time)

Ideally post (usually I just schedule the set for the next open slot in my queue and completely forget I made it until it posts) unless I look at the set in my drafts, decide it’s trash, delete it, and watch like 3 hours of mriad instead

I’m trying to remember what I did to get that coloring and I’m pretty sure it was nothing crazy, there were some blues + greens + cyans in there I selectively enhanced and then just lowered the saturation all the way down. Selectively enhanced the black + maybe increased yellow on selective red? I feel so stupid that I can’t even remember what episode this NiF scene is from so I can go back and see what the original colors were, and make like, reasonable deductions about my own process lol

Thanks to that psd, this NiF set actually only took about 15 mins to make, when this one (where the psd comes from)

had actually taken like 2+ hours and 3 Photoshop crashes AND I forgot the watermark RIP (don’t be like me kids, save your psds + remember your watermarks)

This is the set I'll be looking at, more specifically these two gifs:

1. planning

I made this set for the free choice day of wandavision appreciation week, so once i had the idea to use tvtropes, i headed to the website and read through all the tropes listed for wandavision. i took note of all the ones that could work with a simple scene in my notes app. when i got to the end of the list i went through the tropes i'd chosen and narrowed them down. then i set out to collect all the clips i wanted to use. since i knew i wanted to use some that had prominent yellow tones i decided to contrast them with black and white gifs that have a yellow accent in the form of the typography. this all sounds very methodical, but when i'm not making something for a specific challenge i don't plan things out at all, i just wing it.

2. creating

bear with me, because my photoshop is in hungarian. i'll do my best to use the proper terms, but no promises. i use cs6. so after i have the clip i want, i record it using kmplayer and import it into photoshop. i save all my psds often while i'm working because i have been burned by photoshop just crashing on me randomly. for the yellow gifs i chose scenes that already had yellow tones so i only had to enhance the colors and add some basic coloring to make it pop. that one looked like this:

this is the coloring i used for the yellow gifs with some adjustments as needed:

for the black and white gifs i didn't need to find scenes that had any kind of dominant color so i was free to choose whatever. this is how the second gif looked:

for the b&w gifs i used very little coloring:

that's all for coloring. as for typography, i used Abril Fatface 40 pt, one of my go-to fonts. for the yellow gifs i just had white text and adjusted it to be in the middle of the gif. for the b&w gifs i had the same font, but put the blending mode of the text to difference and added a yellow color overlay, changing the blending mode of the overlay to linear burn. ava (@anya-chalotra) has a ton of amazing photoshop tutorials, she talks about this here in more detail, i highly recommend you check it out if you're interested. as for the horizontal lines, i just used the pencil tool to draw a white line that's as long as the text, positioned it then made a copy and moved it into position at the bottom of the text. then i linked the two layers so that i could move them together and not mess up the spacing.

i think this is everything in the way of creating. lmk if something's not clear! i'm by no means great at photoshop but i'll answer any q's to the best of my ability.

3. posting

i either post my gifs immediately after finishing them or i sit on them for an eternity, there is no inbetween. for this particular set, since i made it for an appreciation week, i had a day when i had to post it. i actually only finished it the evening it had to be posted because i debated what to do for free choice for way too long. some other sets i made for the same event i had already done like a week before the event started bc there i had clearer ideas.

i hope this was at least a bit interesting to read, and not painfully long

1. why did you choose your url? i was trying to distance myself from my lj ~identity for no real reason except idk being weird, and i had originally wanted to have a travel blog so morethanonepage (off that not-actually-a-real-quote of st augustine that’s like “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.”) made sense at the time. and i don’t like changing my usernames (i only did it once on lj, to keep it from being as easily linked to my real-person identity). and i’ve never done it on tumblr.

2. any side-blogs? if you have them, name them and why you have them.

i have a few random ones blogs i made and then never posted anything on, but the main ones that are side-blogs in the traditional sense are:

@canon-poe-dameron - mostly so i would have an excuse to comb through the poe tag and find things to get angry about. bc then i could be like, WELL YES IT MAKES ME UNHAPPY BUT I HAVE TO KEEP THE POE BLOG UPDATED!!! spoiler alert there’s so little worth reblogging to the poe blog anymore it’s just depressing on another level

@omit-the-reference - just a repository for historical gay ~things, mostly fiction but also some history/photographs bc it’s a favorite topic for me

@concretebunghole - NYC picture blog. I don’t update it much anymore, not least bc i’m. not in NYC a lot lately. but it’s from the 30 Rock mangling of the Jay-z lyrics “Baby I'm from New York/Concrete jungle where dreams are made of/There's nothing we can't do” (the 30 rock version being, “concrete bunghole where dreams are made up, there's nothing you can do.���)

@visiblemarket​ for fic posting; i don’t think people do this as much these days but having a fic blog was ~what you did~ on LJ for a while, so.

@ao3feed-constantine​ which is just an autopopulated feed thing but no one else had made one for Constantine (2014) fics so I figured i would.

it’s “queue gardens” bc i thought that was very funny at the time (i lived in kew gardens, queens.)

GENUINELY do not remember. i was following a few blogs on tumblr dot com for a while (the main one i remember posted ~artistic pictures of diverse naked bodies in a nonsexual context, which i thought was interesting).

lol john’s dumb face makes me laugh, idk. 

7. why did you choose your header?

genuinely also bc john looking like he’s aggressively riding dick when he’s ACTUALLY barricading the door of a church w a pew it so funny to me. love it when i get asks like “....um...what’s...what’s going on in your header?” like babe genuinely i don’t know either.

this dumb thing that TERFs have somehow gotten a hold of.
