night walks 2

night walks 1 or can read alone. night walks master list
After having his way with you in his basement, your creepy neighbor is convinced you'll be back for more. When you're not back soon enough, he takes matters into his own hands. You can barely see the silhouette of Joel Miller's messy hair in the shadows. . . He gently takes the keys from your hand. "You're not gonna need these for a minute, are you now?"
content warnings: nsfw 18+, creepy!perv!dark!joel, drugs, possible dosing, dubcon/noncon, unsafe PIV sex, light dirty talk, light stalking, age gap (unspecified), semi-public, no outbreak.

Joel Miller might be a good fuck, but he's such a creep that your wits win out over your want, and you start to distance yourself from him.  You wear earbuds when you walk and pretend you don’t see him.
One night, you feel the slow squeeze of his massive palm on your ass before you hear or see him.  You tell him to get lost.  He raises his hands in surrender and says, "alright, I won't hold it against you."  You look him dead in the eye, not wanting to show any sign of weakness.  He looks you up and down and adds, "now, if you want me to hold something else against you. . ."  You walk away.   "You know where to find me,"  he concludes.  You quicken your pace.  He stands there and watches you walk away for what feels like forever, but you never turn around to find out.
He creeps into your fantasies more often than you'd like.  It shouldn't turn you on the way he tricked you into his basement then locked you in and had his way with you.  But you marvel at his determination and urgency in getting into your pants. He was so sure of everything.  Never hesitated.  He never for a second doubted it would happen.  He was always going to make it happen.
Joel keeps his distance for the next few days, but you always feel uneasy when you pass his house.  Truth is, you're less concerned about what he might do and more worried about yourself.  A pang of desire shoots through you whenever you see the side entrance to his basement.  As the days go on, you find yourself excusing his behavior.  He knew you wanted him, he could tell.  You could have fought back.  At this point, when you catch yourself playing Joel apologist, you stop your night walks altogether to minimize temptation.
-
Instead of taking a walk around the block to get high, you start lighting up in your side yard after your aunt has gone to bed.  You have a camp chair outside your door to the basement.
One night, the first night your aunt is out of town, you get home late and your camp chair is gone.  You stand there looking around.  You hear the flick of a lighter, then smell weed. You can barely see smoke billow out from under the willow tree, and you can just barely see the silhouette of Joel Miller's messy hair in the shadows. You hit the switch by the door to turn on a dim, flickering light. He's leaning forward with his elbows on his knees. More muscular than you remember.
“Thought I might find ya here," he says.
You scoff. “Where I live?”
“Got a new strain.  You gotta try it.” He stretches and relaxes back into the chair, extending one leg, rubbing his upper thigh, and letting his hand come to rest right at his package.
“Oh yeah? How many girls you buyin' weed from in your sketch-ass basement?”
“Just you, pumpkin." He looks at the joint in his hand and exhales. "This was contactless pick-up."  He chuckles to himself.  "C’mon, hit this. . . one time, one little puff. . . then you can tell me to leave.”
"Really?"
"Yup. . . Just wanted to say hi, make sure we’re good."
You turn and look at him skeptically as he puts his hands on his knees and stands up.  He's wearing a white t-shirt that stretches over his chest and barely contains his arms.  His PJ pants leave little to the imagination. You already know what's beneath them, but you don't need the reminder.  The silver in his beard glistens as he smirks at you checking him out.
"Oooh, there's my bad girl."  His voice is so gruff and low when he says that.  You flush and swallow.  Shit.
You turn away again, half facing the door, and shift your weight impatiently.  You don't want to open the door while he's there.  Best case scenario, he leaves.  He holds the joint between two fingers and takes his time creeping up behind you. You smell his sweat and get weak in the knees.  To hell with it, you were going to smoke anyway.  Saves you the trouble of rolling one.
Joel hovers over your shoulder as he raises the joint to your mouth. You close your lips around it, inhale, and hold. He looks from your eyes to your mouth and back.  Then, his hand directs your chin toward him, his lips lay loosely into yours, and he takes your breath as you exhale.  Your nipples harden and you ache with an unwanted need.  He pinches the joint out and tucks it behind his ear.
You wait a few seconds, only getting wetter as his suspicious weed takes effect.  Then, you tell him, "Okay, you can leave now."
Instead, he wraps around you from behind, and it feels far too good.  His large hands on your breasts and hips send butterflies to your stomach and downward.
You protest, "You said you'd-"
“Said you could tell me to leave, didn’t say I’d listen.”
“Well, listen.”  You sigh.  "Please."
His strong arms slowly slither around you.  You stand completely still as he slips a veiny, masculine hand into the waistband of your joggers.  He inhales your neck and slowly caresses your lower stomach.  You squirm in discomfort and he twitches against you through his pants, sending a pang of desire through yours.  Then, his hand slides further down your skin, hooking between your legs, and his other hand creeps under your shirt and bra to cup a breast.   His thick cock rapidly hardens against you and he grunts softly.
You're wet and throbbing.
"I am listenin’, sugar.  I'm still listenin' to those sounds you made with me inside you."  Your cheeks burn as his thick digits glide along your dripping seam. "Shoot, I'm listenin' to your body right now."
He takes two shiny fingers out of your pants and holds them up in the flickering light as if you don't already know what his depravity does to you.   He separates his fingers, observes the clear string between them, then sucks them, closing his eyes with an "Mmm."
He reaches around you for the door knob, but you intercept him. You're not going to unlock it.
"Alright,” he says. “You don't have to let me in."  He grazes the nape of your neck with his nose, then his lips.  When he plants his lips on the side of your neck, you softly gasp.  He gently takes your keys out of your hand.  "You're not gonna need these for a minute, are you now?"  He sticks your house key into the lock and leaves them hanging there, a visual reminder that he'll do what he wants.  Desire floods your body.
-
Your lips part but you can't form words.  He crowds you up against the door and frees his hard cock from his pants then slides it under your shirt, resting warmly on your bare back while he tugs down your joggers.  He flattens three fingers and glides through your folds to your clit again. You moan softly despite your best efforts.
“Damn right,” he says under his breath.  He pulls your pants down a little more,  then spreads your legs with his knee.  He backs up a couple of inches before his torso meets yours again, and the swollen head of his cock prods between your legs.  Your hips automatically tilt before you can stop them.
“Attagirl," he whispers. "I know you missed this cock.”
He bends his knees and nudges the tip inside your entrance, lining it up just right, then plunges up into you, grunting into your hair.  You gasp and he moans in relief as his girth parts your core.
“Tight fuckin’ pussy,” he breathes, his rock-hard cock resting all the way inside you for a moment.
He retreats slightly.   Mouth against your ear, he whispers almost angrily, “Yeah, you want this cock,” then thrusts his full length into you again, his momentum sending you to your tiptoes and flattening your tits against the door.  He keeps filling you to the brim, and each time, the tension coils tighter within you.  Each time,  it’s harder not to moan obscenely, but you won't give him that satisfaction.  Each time, the keys jingle in the door, taunting you.
A car comes down the street and slows down in front of your house.  Your heart races.   You quickly turn off the lightswitch, and it hits you that, Jesus, in your futile effort not to fuck him, you’re getting railed against the outside of the house.  You relent.  You lean back against him and he stills inside you, with his hands on your hips.  You unlock and open the door. He slides out of you and you judge yourself for the emptiness you feel.  The air is cold against your dripping seam.  You only barely pull up your joggers.
-
You hardly take one step inside before he shuts the door and pins you up against it, face to face. “Fuck, you’re so goddamn hot,” he growls as he hikes your shirt and bra over your tits, his hard cock digging into your needy front.
He pulls down your pants again.  He lifts one of your legs up and it hooks behind him as he positions himself at your warm, wet hole.  Then, his stiff cock invades you.  As his girth fills you up, you forget not to moan.  Your face heats up and you close your eyes, unable to face him.
You have one foot planted on the ground and one leg wrapped loosely around him, held up by his hand, and he's fucking you against the door, hitting just the right spot inside you.  You try not to show it, but it’s all over your face - you’re getting close.
“Yeah, come on this cock.” He plunges into you violently, then stays there, rolling his hips in short strokes, grinding into your clit, thrusting just enough to maintain friction inside and outside at the same time, driving you mad.
“Come for me, baby.”
A reluctant, ragged moan falls out of your mouth.  You flatten your back and hands against the door as you come, and he thrusts into you harder with a grunt.
He breathes, “Fuck yeah, baby,” and slams into you.  You feel him pulse and say, “wait, no,”  not wanting his cum inside you.  He  pulls out just slightly then slams into you again, his cock pulsing harder, filling you with warmth, and extending your climax.  You squirm and he holds you still, emptying his balls in enormous bursts that make you come harder.   He pins you up against the door, cups your cheek, and kisses you as you both finish coming.
-
After he pulls out, he puts his dick away and reaches into your pants with two fingers, collecting his spend off your inner thigh. He looks at his cum, disappointed.  “Well, there’s always more.”   He slaps it up against your pussy and massages you with flattened fingers.  He smirks as he draws an aftershock and a moan out of you.
“Let’s do this the easy way next time, pumpkin.”  He braces his hand against the door as he leans in and kisses you with an unnerving tenderness on the mouth.  He raises his eyebrows and adds,  “Unless this is what gets you off.”

Pepe Sylvia scene where someone is ranting in front of a corkboard covered in pictures and string but it's about chastity meme culture. (slightly NSFW text and long ranting under the cut)
"first it's Locktober and sure, makes sense, why not, but then you get to November and you think you're home free, but wait, it's actually NO-vember, as in 'no you're not getting let out' and then it's December and you think you've won, cause how do you make December about chastity? But you forget, December is the time of Christmas: things wrapped up, with a bow, 'do not open til Christmas!'. That's how they get you. But then you think, maybe, just maybe, that means Christmas day is the day, you'll finally be out... NOPE! Welcome to NO-el, it's a gift-giving holiday, bud! And you're in a relationship with a person who's got you locked up in chastity, take a wild guess what they're getting you... That's right, a new cage! So you gotta try it on, of course, and now you're so close to the end of the year, so maybe you can just make it a few days? Then bam, January, next year... Just in time for new years resolutions! Guess what those are gonna be? Well, I'll tell you what they're not gonna be, you shooting any fucking goo! February: the month of valentines day. And what could be more romantic? March: that's when St. Patrick's day is, and you will not be having the luck of the Irish in your attempt to get unlocked... April: oh sure, you're getting unlocked at the start of April... ON APRIL FOOLS DAY? you thought! It's a trick, of course. May: MAY-be you'll be getting out... But I doubt it! June... More like Ju-NO! JULY, the month of love... But the big ju-LIE is that you'll be getting any loving this month. August! It starts on National Girlfriend Day... Well why can't you just wait another month for your girlfriend? Even if you have a boyfriend or enby friend, they'll find a way. I learned that the hard way-" they take a deep drag of their cigarette-" where was I? September! Well, September 1st is Emma Nutt day, so you think this might be a good sign, maybe you'll finally get to nutt.. Especially because it's sexual health month... But no! This is when don't-break-the-streakitis really hits you! It's almost been a year since you started this journey, so if you make it through this month, you'll have done it for a year... Won't that be a great accomplishment? And they promise to give you a big reward on the one year anniversary..."
"BUT NO!" They smack the board with the back of their hand, and several of the pictures fall off, pushpins going everywhere. (On closer inspection, some of the photos seem to have been pixelated before they were printed out)
"You're right back in Locktober! They can't let you out in Locktober! That's just silly. So you'll have to wait a little while, and see what the answer is in NO-vember. It never ends!"
They turn back to their corkboard. "it never ends", they say again, softly, as they lean their head against it, and start to sob.

A promise is a promise

Part 1

Private chat nicknames:
Fryer = Tucker
Dann-O = Danny
Other private chat nicknames:
Kangaroo = Jason
PolarBear = Danny
---
Danny has been searching online for a while now for the perfect place to take Red Hood to, for the second part of their date. He already has in mind what he wants to do, he just hopes Red Hood will like his plan.
He’ll need to make sure to get the needed materials either today or tomorrow.
Midway through his planning, his phone buzzes with a message. Danny picks his phone up, checking who sent it. He raises an eyebrow at seeing a message from Tucker in their private chat.
He opens his phone to read the text, putting his date-planning on hold for now.

Private chat
Fryer: so wheres my tim drake-wayne autograph danny? when am i gonna get it huh?
Dann-O: wait what? 😦
Dann-O: I still need to get it for you?? 😥😥
Dann-O: but you didn’t even end up wiping the cams ☹️
Dann-O: they were already wiped!!
Fryer: ye but I still wouldve wiped them if they werent already its all abt the intent danny
Fryer: u promised me the autograph now u gotta follow thru with it u cant just go back on ur word >:(
Dann-O: fine I’ll try and get it for you
Dann-O: I did promise 😓
Dann-O: but be prepared that it might take a while 😬😬
Fryer: great! thnx my dude knew u would come thru for me ur the best love ya danman 😘
Dann-O: yeah yeah I know 🙄😒
---
With a small sigh, Danny closes the chat between him and Tucker. He’s unsure how to go about getting that autograph.
He can’t just stalk the guy and nag him into giving the autograph, then he’d probably end up with a restraining order instead.
He could try looking online for one, but those will probably be very expensive. Though, he might be able to trick the guy into signing something? Or perhaps steal one when he’s at the manor this Saturday anyway?
However… Perhaps he can get some help with this… Danny considers.
He looks back at his phone and opens another chat.

PolarBear: hey, so uh, random question ☝️
PolarBear: you wouldn’t happen to have a Tim Drake-Wayne autograph 🤔
PolarBear: or maybe know a way of getting one
PolarBear: would you?? 😅😅
Kangaroo: Why do you want one?
PolarBear: it’s not for me
PolarBear: but I kinda promised my friend I’d get one for him 😅😓
Kangaroo: Ah, okay. I’ll see what I can do.
PolarBear: really? 😲
PolarBear: thanks!! 🥰💕
PolarBear: but it’s fine if you can’t
PolarBear: like don’t feel obligated to help or something
PolarBear: if need be I’ll probably just trick him into signing something for me 🙃
PolarBear: or I could just sneak in once we’re TPing the place anyway
PolarBear: and just get one of his documents or something 👀👀
Kangaroo: Hell yeah, sign me up. This will be fun :)

In another realm, a bright toxic green smoke hits an unsuspecting victim, a crazed giggle following behind coming from the origin of the strange smoke.
The victim, instead of fleeing, stops right in their tracks, collapsing into themselves. Not a moment later their laughter joins in with the giggling from before.
The smoke fades away and reveals a man with bright purple hair and glowing red eyes. He’s wearing a green suit with a red vest and a purple dress shirt underneath.
In his breast pocket on the outside of his suit is a glowing red flower with purplish-black leaves that looks like a rosebud of some sort.
His face is stark white with a greenish undertone and his lips are bright red and pulled back into a deranged grin.
This insane clown who's hellbent on dragging the people of Gotham into his madness is a fairly new resident of the Infinite Realms. He’s a specter. A wraith.
A ghost.
The Joker moves closer towards the other ghost. The other ghost keeps laughing, not reacting to the Joker’s approach.
However, once the Joker is within a few meters of them, the ghost starts choking. While the ghost is unable to stop the mix of laughing and coughing, a glowing green liquid starts flowing out of their mouth.
Ectoplasm.
While they’re involuntarily laughing, their eyes are full of distress. The Joker just moves closer, humming a little tune.
Once close enough, the Joker bends down, getting right in the other ghost’s face. Ignoring the other ghost’s attempt at flinching away, the Joker drags a finger across the ghost’s face, wiping up some of the glowing green liquid.
The Joker takes a close look at it, the grin on his face becoming impossibly, inhumanely, wider.
“Oh, this! This is going to be a right laugh!” He exclaims, cackling a little. He straightens back up before continuing.
“It’ll be the show of a lifetime,” He turns around, “Don’t you agree, my friend?”
The person who has been watching the entire display from the sidelines doesn’t respond verbally, their own deranged grin forming on their face, no outside influence needed.

Swap Beyond the Crystalverse Chapter 17: Resurgence
Co-written with @crystalninjaphoenix Read Swapboys | Read Crystal’s AUs
Other Multiverse Stories: SITCV | SATCV | GITHV
SBTCV Masterpost
"Are you sure we're going in the right direction?" Schneep asks from the back seat. "We are heading out of town."
"My sense of direction is great," Marvin insists.
No it's not, JJ says.
"I saw that!" Marvin glances into the rearview mirror. "Look, we just got to this town, I have to get used to it. So what if I have to take a couple turns to get back to the right road? It's not like we're on a time limit. Where to next, Alt?"
The directions in Alt's head tell them that they're getting close. They've driven from the middle edge of the city, through the center, towards the opposite edge. There are a lot of small businesses out here, local places in one-story buildings. They just need to turn onto Blackberry Street and then go into the Twelve Moon Motel.
Alt is restlessly bouncing his leg and gripping his pant leg- trying to ignore the sensation of his glitches building up inside. He concentrating so hard he almost doesn’t hear Marvin but then he nods, “Almost there… turn on to Blackberry street and he should be the Twelve Moon Motel.”
"Right." Marvin nods. He squints at the street ahead of them. "Where is the turn for Blackberry—"
"It's coming up right now, switch lanes!" Schneep shouts.
Marvin yelps and quickly shifts into the leftmost lane. "Fucking hell, Schneep! Don't fucking do that!" They turn left. "You're almost worse than my driving instructor was."
Alt laughs a bit, “At least you have your license… I don’t have mine.”
"Well, uh... my license is very expired," Marvin says. "I-I don't like crowded places, and the place you go to get a new one always has this giant line."
Ironic for someone who preforms for a living, JJ says.
"I saw that. And I'd say it's not. It's different when you're up on the stage. You're, uh... removed, in a way."
“Dude I’m the same fucking way,” Alt says. “On stage? I’m fine. The second I gotta push through a crowd? God fuck no-“
"Yeah! Exactly!" Marvin grins. "So you're a preformer too, Alt?"
"Is everyone in this car a preformer except me?" Schneep asks.
I haven't had any roles in a long while, I don't think I count, JJ says.
"Oh, of course you count," Schneep assures him. "You are famous in certain circles."
Alt looks to Marvin and grins, “Yeah- I’m an illusionist. I do light shows at raves!”
"Oh whaaaat? That's sick!" Marvin grins. "I do magic tricks. Ironic, isn't it? Given I have real magic. They don't know I do, though. The audience, I mean.”
Alt laughs, “same- I use a bit of my magic in my shows too.”
“Oh! Look, I think that's it." Marvin says. There's a glowing sign in the night advertising the Twelve Moon Motel, with a neon crescent on it.
Alt blinks as they approach the motel and grins. He almost thinks about glitching out of the car but manages to stop himself. “oh good-!”
Marvin turns into the car lot of the motel, parking in the closest spot to the building. "Alright. Did your directions include the room?"
They did. Room 7, right on the first floor. “Yeah… Room 7,” Alt says, surprised. “Huh- this spell is like really really handy…”
"What was it, exactly?" Marvin asks as he parks the car. "I think you must've gotten a boost from that glass eye of yours. Was there extra power stored in there? Was it a tracker? What's the deal?" They get out of the car as Marvin asks the questions.
Alt hops out and hums. “Oh yeah it’s… it’s a tracker that has like a scrying spell in it. We were using it to try to find those TRVLR pieces.. but now that I have them all… guess I can try to use it for stuff just this.” He laughs.
Schneep sighs. "Magic. I am so jealous of all of you."
You don't need to have magic to do the rituals I know, JJ says.
"Do you think I have time for that witchcraft stuff?"
“Well if you wanna learn magic that might be something you gotta make time for dude!” Alt chuckles.
They walk along the doors. Room 10... Room 9... Room 8... Room 7.
As they stop by the door, Alt takes a deep breath then goes to knock on the door. Then he moves out of the way for the others to step forward.
There's no response.
Schneep walks up to the door next. "Jackie?" he calls as he knocks. "It's... it's us." He laughs a bit. "That sounds so, ah, 'lame' to say after all these months, but... it's us."
Still no response.
"Jackie if you don't answer we're going to break down the fucking door," Marvin says, a bit of fear tinging the anger in his voice.
Alt lingers back in concern, holding Jackie’s mask in his hands. “…this was the right place though…!” He whispers.
Maybe he's not here? JJ asks, worriedly.
Marvin frowns. "Last chance! I-I'm going to break the door down!" Green light twists around his hands.
“Then the spell would have told us! …right?” Alt says.
Maybe he WAS here when you cast the spell but left? JJ asks worriedly.
"Fuck it!" The magic around Marvin's hands flares and he starts forward—
But Schneep grabs him and pulls him back. "Surely you can teleport in, yes?"
"It's a short range spell! I can only teleport to places I can see!" Marvin looks through the windows. "These have those big shutters on them, the inside is completely blocked from sight!"
Alt listens to all of them then finally he grits his teeth and grabs all of them as best he can. His body starts to glitch. “…I got this-“ He says. Marvin's head snaps towards him. JJ's eyes widen and Schneep gasps, but they don't have time to do anything before they glitch into the room.
The motel room is dark, the shape of a bed, desk, and wardrobe hidden in the shadows.
Schneep jerks away first and scrambles back towards the front door, flipping the light switch on as he finds it.
"You bastard!" Marvin shouts, his eyes lighting up and the magic around his hands bursting into fire that turns purple at the ends. "This was a fucking trap, wasn't it?!"
"Y-you cannot take us!" Schneep shouts, lunging for the desk and grabbing a lamp from its surface. "W-we will not let you!"
JJ looks pale. He doesn't say anything. Just stands there.
Alt let’s go and trembles back from the others, eyes wide and heart sinking. He backs up, glitches vibrating around him as he tries to speak, “I-I’m sorry-! I… I meant to tell you it’s just- I… I’m not who you think I am, I swear!”
"Like hell you aren't!" Marvin shouts. "What's going on?! Do you have Jackie and Chase? What, do you want the complete set?" He draws his hand back and throws a blast of magical fire.
Alt just barely dodges out of the way, “No! I’m not Anti! I… I mean I am but I’m…! I’m him from another universe! Where I’m not fucking evil!”
"We should not have believed that in the first place!" Schneep's voice cracks as he shouts, and he swings the lamp at Alt.
Alt gets hit in the face and he staggers back with a shout. He touches his nose, drawing back a bloody hand. He curls up, tears in his eyes- but he refuses to look at them. “I-I’m not lying…! I-I really wanted to help you! W-Why would I lead you here if I-i already had Jackie?!”
"I don't know what goes on in your twisted fucking head!" Marvin snarls. He gets ready to throw more fire--but JJ's hand shoots out and grabs his wrist. "JJ, let go!"
JJ does let go, but only to sign. Blood.
"H-huh?!"
A-devil doesn't bleed.
"The fuck do you mean?! He bleeds all the time!" Marvin says. "From that big-ass wound in his throat!"
JJ shakes his head slowly.
Alt looks back up at JJ, the lingering of tears in his eyes. Blood drips from his nose as he heaves in panic, his heart clenching painfully as he sees the hatred in Marvin and Schneep’s eyes. “I-I’m sorry… I…” he closes his eyes and then glitches out of the room- not even caring where he ends up- just anywhere but here.
He doesn't go far, ending up in the middle of the car lot of the motel. Alt looks around in confusion, panting and wiping at his face and trying to look towards where else he can go.
"Whoa, did you see that?!" A voice shouts as he appears.
"Th-that's him!" Another voice says, voice cracking.
There are three figures just turning into the car lot. One in a hoodie, one in a cap, and one very familiar.
Alt hears the shouting and almost glitches away again. Then he hears a hoarse cry and someone crashes into him very fast, almost knocking him over. “Alt! Alt oh thank god! You’re okay!” Bro breathes, hugging Alt tight.
“C-Chase?” Alt whispers in disbelief.
“I-I thought this world’s Anti had gotten you!” Bro cries, gripping on tighter.
“No I… I’m okay-“ Alt says weakly.
"W-wait--This is your brother?!" Chase gapes at Alt and Bro. "But--he--glitch? I-I know you said he was a version of him, but--I-I wasn't expecting--"
Jackie swallows a lump in his throat and puts a hand on Chase's shoulder. "I-is he okay? His nose is bleeding..."
"Bleeding..." Chase repeats absentmindedly. "And... crying?" That seems to confuse him.
Bro registers what Jackie and Chase are saying and let’s go, looking over Alt, “woah! What happened?!”
Immediately more tears come into Alt’s eyes as he looks away, shaking like a leaf. “…I-I fucked up- I found t-the others and I was gonna help them find Jackie and I… I glitched and they thought I was…”
"Uh, do you two need a moment?" Jackie asks delicately.
Anger flashes bright blue in Bro’s eyes as he looks back to the motel. He looks back at Chase and Jackie, hugging Alt to his side. “…I think we need to go talk to your friends…”
“They’re… here?” Jackie says softly. “Th-they followed me? All three of them?” He shakes his head, a small, sad smile on his face. “I… can imagine that didn’t go well.”
Alt looks at Jackie with a pained expression then looks away, holding his arms. He nods, “w-when you didn’t answer I… I thought you could have been in trouble so I… I glitched us in…”
Jackie’s smile fades. “D-don’t take it personally, Alt. Schneep and JJ have had really bad experiences with him, and Marvin… tends to act impulsively. I mean, I’m one to talk but uh…” He shakes his head. “Yeah. We need to talk to them. D-did you go into my room?”
Bro holds Alt to his side and starts to walk towards the motel. “Alright… come on then…”
Jackie nods and leads the way. Chase looks a little overwhelmed as he follows.
Jackie takes a set of keys out of his pocket as they approach. He unlocks the door, walking in. “Guys, I’m—” And then he freezes.
There is someone else in the room. A man dressed in black whose form shivers and judders with static. Blood pours from a slit on his neck, and his eyes are black except for a glint of green light in the depths of his right one. He’s holding Schneep by the throat, lifting him off the ground. Marvin is standing in front of JJ defensively, one hand holding his wand and the other covered in green flames. The glitching man turns to look at the four who just entered. “So nice to see you again,” he says, white noise tracing every syllable.
Alt gasps and Bro automatically pushes Alt behind him and gets in front of Chase as he snarls, “You! Motherfucker! Let him go!”
Anti grins. “And why should I listen to you?” His grip tightens and Schneep chokes, grabbing at Anti’s hand and kicking his legs as he struggles.
Marvin and JJ glance over towards the door. “Jackie!” Marvin gasps. “A-and Chase! And—holy shit. Alt, I-I’m so sorry—”
“That you ever thought this weak human was me?” Anti interrupts. He laughs. “You should be.”
Alt shakes a bit, berating himself for leaving. He then narrows his eyes in determination and glitches forward going to try to tackle Anti away from Schneep.
Anti isn’t expecting such a direct attack. Alt slams against him, knocking him to the ground. Schneep falls as Anti lets go, gasping for air. Growling, Anti glitches away, seeming to disappear. But he’s not gone. They can all still feel his presence.
Alt glitches to his feet and magic bubbles around his hands as he growls out to the room, trying to figure out where he went, “I’ll show you what a ‘weak human’ can do, bitch! Face me you fucking coward!”
Bro hurries over to go help up Schneep, “Hey- you okay?” He asks gently.
Schneep is gasping for air. He looks over at Bro in confusion. Then JJ rushes over to help as well and Schneep looks over at him instead. “Jamie… am I seeing things?” He asks in a hoarse voice.
JJ shakes his head. He also looks at Bro in confusion.
Bro blinks then waves awkwardly too, “Uh hi! Sorry- other Chase here, different universe. I’ll explain more later!”
“Uh…hi?” Chase waves slowly.
“Chase!” Marvin gasps. “Y-you’re okay!”
“Y-yeah. I uh… don’t… know who you are.”
Marvin’s expression breaks. “…what?” he whispers, sounding absolutely heartbroken. Alt looks back at Chase with wide eyes then glares back up at the air.
Bro winces at Marvin’s reaction, “I-I think he fucked with Chase’s memory somehow!”
Laughter echoes around the room.
“You!” Marvin’s head snaps around. “What did you fucking do to him?! Alt is right! Face us you coward!”
Magic sparks around Alt even more as he scans the room. “Too afraid of a couple of humans, glitch bitch? Afraid I’ll glitch circles around you?” He snarls.
"Afraid? Not at all." Anti laughs. "Not of someone like you and your pocket friend there. Denying your purposes. Want to see my purpose?"
JJ's head snaps up. Cover your ears!
Alt’s eyes widen as he puts his hand on his pocket, covering his phone. “I’m not denying anything-!”
Bro’s head snaps to JJ and he covers his ears.
The others all move quickly, covering their ears in turn. But in taking time to warn the others, JJ isn't able to block is own ears. And Chase, confused and afraid, is too slow. In unison, the two of them slump over, then straighten up again.
Anti forms in the corner, hovering above the ground as the light in the room slowly turns red. "This is who we are, and I do it well," Anti says.
Alt’s stomach drops as he sees Chase and JJ slump, eyes widening. “No!”
"No! JJ!" Marvin shouts.
"Ch-Chase!" Schneep gasps in a hoarse voice.
At once, Chase lunges for Alt, and JJ takes out the knife he'd grabbed earlier and goes for Bro.
Alt tries to glitch out of the way but Chase is too fast, tackling Alt to the ground. Alt shakes a bit and tries to kick Chase off of him.
Chase tightens his grip, not seeming to feel the pain from Alt's kicks. His hands reach for his throat.
Alt starts to freak out as Chase reaches for his throat, “n-no don’t-!” He cries, trying to kick Chase off him more in a panic.
Bro just barely dodges getting cut and he backs up, putting his hands up in a sign of peace. “Woah hey! C-C’mon dude, no need to stab!”
JJ recovers and swings back around to go for a second stab, but Jackie yells out and thrusts a hand forward. Ribbons of silvery green light blast from his hand, knocking him to the side.
Marvin sends a blast of his own magic at Anti, but his form distorts, dodging the blast.
Bro blinks in surprise at Jackie’s blast then grins wildly. “Dude that’s so sick!” Then he hears Alt’s distress and he hurries over to try to pull Chase off him, “Alt! Other me, stop!!”
Chase starts to squeeze Alt's throat, though as Bro starts to pull him away his grip loosens again. But before Bro can fully get him off Alt, JJ staggers to his feet and jumps onto his back in turn.
"Holy shit!" Jackie goes over and tries grabbing JJ, forming a pile of people in the center of the room.
Marvin keeps trying to blast Anti, but he glitches out of the way every time, laughing madly.
Alt chokes, tears in his eyes as he tries to claw himself away. Bro loosens his grip as JJ jumps into him, almost crashing down on top of Alt and Chase. “J-Jesus dude! Get off!” He tries elbowing JJ off him.
As soon as Chase lets go Alt tries to glitch away, his powers hard to grip onto in his panic.
Chase quickly grabs onto Alt again before he can disappear.
"Having trouble there?" Anti laughs. "What happened to glitching circles around me?!" He glitches away again as Marvin tries to shoot him once more.
Alt can’t help but let out a choked cry as he grabbed again. Anti’s taunts hardly register as he struggles to get a purchase to breathe. “C-Chase…!” He croaks, fingers clawing at Chase’s, feet kicking wildly.
JJ falls back for a second, but keeps his grip tight. He drives his knife downwards towards Bro.
"N-no!" Jackie blasts him again--not thinking about possibly catching Bro in the crossfire.
JJ falls back to the floor again. Schneep hurries over and tries to pin him.
Bro manages to flatten himself against the floor to dodge then hears Alt’s cry and he yells in anger. He was trying not to hurt Chase before but now- no holding back! He grabs Chase hard around the middle to pry him off of Alt.
Bro lifts him up easily, grabbing Chase like a disobedient cat and prying him off Alt. His arms dangle for a moment and twists around to try and punch Bro in turn.
Alt curls up, coughing and heaving, holding his throat with shaking hands.
JJ is squirming beneath Schneep. "Please, Jameson!" he shouts. "Don't listen to the static! You are more than that! You do not belong to him! We do not belong to him!" JJ pauses for a moment, eyes flickering. Then he resumes his struggle.
“Woah!” Bro dodges and drops Chase then holds up his hands, “Other me- I dunno what Anti did to you but you can’t listen to him! He took you away from your family- your friends! I know you’re stronger than this!”
"F-family...?" Chase whispers. He pauses. "F-family. Family." His muscles lock up. "N-no! I--"
"Careful, Chase." Anti glitches away, appearing behind Chase and putting a hand on his shoulder. "Don't go too far. You don't want to fall."
Chase goes pale and he presses his hands to his face, covering his eyes. "No! Not again!"
JJ looks over towards Chase's shouting. His eyes flicker again and he stretches towards him.
Bro glares, backing up but power glows blue around his fists. “Whatever you’re doing to him, stop it! This isn’t right!”
Alt looks out at Chase’s distress- and Anti’s back right in front of him. He grits his teeth and makes a knife with his magic before glitching over to try to stab Anti in the back.
But Anti isn't fully there. Anti is only partially there. Alt's knife goes right through him and hits Chase's upper arm instead.
Chase cries out and stumbles forward, falling onto his knees.
Bro cries out and goes to try to catch Chase, looking back with wide eyes.
Anti turns around in an instant, grinning at Alt. "Would you look at that? I suppose your purpose is still in your soul after all." He leans closer to Alt. "To h̵͟ur͏̕t̢͟. To k̶i̢̨ll̵̷."
"Sh-shut up!" Schneep snaps. "Shut up! Alt, do not listen to him! He's full of shit!"
Alt immediately pales, staggering back and dropping the knife. He can’t control the shaking in his hands as he gasps out, “N-No! I… I didn’t mean- I…I-!” He looks down at his hands, seeing them glitch and seeing flickers of them covered in blood and clawed.
“Alt! Get away from him!” Bro cries out.
Anti grins. JJ and Chase abruptly gasp in unison as whatever hold he had them under is broken. And then Anti lunges straight for Alt. Halfway into the lunge he splits into pixels that sink into Alt's skin and attach to him. Alt feels Anti's mind pushing against him, a bitter static trying to overwhelm him.
Alt gasps as Anti enters into his body, his back arching and eyes widening. His sclera tries to turn black and he feels like he can’t breathe.
“ALT!” Bro cries out.
Alt jerks back like a broken marionette, heaving in panic and then gripping at his head. “N-No! No no no g-get OUT!” His eyes flash white- his light magic trying to come to his aid and sparking around him. Flashes of electricity crackle around him as he tries to push back against the static- but he’s not sure it’s going to be enough.
Already he feels his light cracking.
Anti does cry out for a moment as the light magic hits him, but then he pushes through it, solidifying his grip, pushing Alt into the back of his own mind.
Alt’s mind gets completely overridden by static- he can’t fight back. Even as he desperately tries to grab for any control- it’s gone.
A laugh bubbles out of his throat. Not his.
Bro turns white and stares at Alt with wide eyes. “Alt…! No-!”
"Oh god," Marvin says, going pale in horror.
"Alt?" Alt's phone crackles with static. "Alt?!" His hand moves on its own, taking his phone out and throwing it across the room. Before it hits the wall a fountain of pixels errupts from it, forming into Anti with the eye-patch, holding tight onto Alt's phone.
"Oh there's the other one!" Anti says. "It's like looking in a funhouse mirror!"
Jackie looks at Eye-patch Anti with surprise. "There's two of them?!"
Bro looks to eye-patch Anti with desperation, then the others, “don’t worry this one is our friend!” He staggers to his feet watching Alt with fear, “A-Anti what do we do?!”
Alt laughs more, pulling off his mask to reveal his scarred neck, grinning from ear to ear as he staggers forward.
"You know some way to get rid of him, don't you?!" Eye-patch Anti says, looking towards Marvin.
"H-how do you know that?!" Marvin asks.
"Don't you?!"
"I--Th-the only way I know is black magic, and I promised not to--"
"Fuck it! There's a Sam in this dimension, isn't there?!" Anti says, sounding a bit frantic. "They can help!"
Sam wiggles out through a gap in Jackie's backpack zipper. "Oh, I don't know what it's like where you're from," Anti-Alt says. "But Sam is nothing to me here." A knife of dark glitches forms in his hand and he lunges for Bro, slashing.
Bro quickly jumps back and then balls his hands up into fists, but this is clearly freaking him out. “I’m not gonna f-fight my brother, glitch bitch! Get out of his body!”
"Oh you're not? Too bad, then!" Anti-Alt laughs, and slashes again--
But then Jackie jumps in front of Bro, his whole body briefly glowing that silvery green from before. The knife bounces of his body, not even slicing the fabric of his hoodie. The glow goes down his body and into his hands as he thrusts them out. His energy bursts out and hits Anti-Alt, sending him flying backwards into the motel's bed.
Bro blinks in surprise and his jaw drops seeing Jackie’s power. “Dude!!”
Alt feels Anti's hold on him loosen. Slightly, very slightly, but it still loosens enough. Maybe he can--reach out-- Alt hits the wall and gasps, feeling a crack. His eyes flicker as he tries to rasp out, “C-Chase…! H-help-“
Bro’s heart breaks, “We’re trying, baby bro! Keep fighting!” He urges, tears in his eyes.
Alt tries to find any access to his magic- there’s gotta be some way he can fight this…! He can feel it, but before he reaches out to grab it, Anti seizes control again, forming Alt's face into a scowl. He flips the dark magic knife and suddenly he's over by JJ, who's just getting to his feet. "Hello again," Anti says, grabbing him with a mad grin.
JJ gasps.
Bro gasps then rushes over to try to get JJ away from Anti.
But Anti-Alt glitches away--which even he looks surprised about. He laughs. "Different glitching! You don't tear people apart. How handy that will be!" He presses his knife to JJ's neck, and JJ's eyes start to glaze over. "Now--two against one, again?"
“No! Fucking- stop hiding behind other people you coward!” Bro growls.
"JJ!" Marvin shouts, eyes wide. He hesitates--and then throws a ball of magic at Anti, purple with a green core. It hits Alt directly in the face, and though he doesn't feel pain, he can hear Anti scream in surprise inside his head as he's shoved away--not entirely disappearing but maybe this is another chance!
Alt cries out as the magic hits them and the knife loosens in their grip. He tries to push JJ away but he very quickly starts to lose his grip again.
JJ manages to snap back to reality and pulls away from Alt in the moment when he feels him push.
Marvin quickly teleports forward, grabs JJ, and teleports back over to the front of the room.
"I'm not hiding behind other people--I'm going easy on you," Anti-Alt says. "Do you want to see me get serious?" His mad smile falls. "Let's see what this magic can do."
Blades of dark-colored magic form in the air around him and go flying out. Marvin's head snaps up and he shields JJ with his body while flinging out a magical shield to cover Chase and Schneep.
Jackie's eyes widen and he deflects the blades with that same full-body energy from before. But one knife manages to fly through Marvin's shield, hitting Chase in the shoulder. He cries out, and Schneep shouts "Chase!" and starts digging into his first aid kit to help.
Bro uses his super speed to weave out of the way of the knives flying at him. Then he growls and yells out, “That’s it!” He rushes at Anti, power building up in his fists as he goes to punch him.
As Bro's hand goes flying forward, Anti-Alt's hand shoots up and catches it, blocking the blow--but at the cost of pain jolting down Alt's bone. He can feel it. Nothing breaks, but holy fuck. "Hitting your own brother?" Anti-Alt grins. "How low!"
"Shut u̸̧p!͞" Eye-patch Anti suddenly glitches forward, grabbing Alt from behind and spinning him around to stare into his eyes at the other Anti beyond. "There's no one lower than you. Stalking and mocking innocent people--you're the worst version of me I know. Because I know you could do better." His form disappears, more pixels latching onto Alt's body.
Bro growls looking ready to punch him again- when Anti comes in and drags him away. He shouts as Anti disappears inside Alt’s body. “Anti!”
Alt staggers back, gasping as his eyes flicker through different colors. He can’t breathe- his body is burning. He grips at his head, knees threatening to buckle.
{Alt! Please!} Alt hears Eye-patch Anti reaching for him, pushing the other Anti aside.
Inside his head he tries to reach out for eye-patch Anti too, {I’m trying-! I…I’m not strong enough!}
{That's okay,} Eye-patch Anti says. {Here, let me help. We can be strong enough together.}
Anti's laugh echoes through his mind. {So you need another reject to bail you out? Pathetic, both of you! You know what we were made for. You know how this story is always going to end.}
For once, Alt feels Eye-patch Anti... waver a bit. Alt falters too, his fears and insecurities about his role threatening to eat him alive.
{How easy it would be, to cut loose. To kill those two who've hurt that Jack of yours, who damaged your ridiculous friendship. You could do it in a heartbeat. And you've thought about it, haven't you? It would be so easy. You could protect him. I don't agree that any Jacks out there deserve protection, but if you really care about him, wouldn't you be doing more? There's one thing to be said about being the villain. We get shit done, don't we?}
Alt’s body trembles to his knees, curling up on himself as he digs his nails into his scalp.
Alt weakly tries to tell Eye-Patch Anti, {D-Don’t listen to him! You’re d-doing your best! That’s enough, you told me that’s enough!}
But… Anti’s logic is digging into his skull. Villains… get shit done. It would be easy to cut loose… wasn’t it easier? As impulse? When he didn’t care about being good…?
{That's enough...} Eye-patch Anti repeats. Alt can feel the mental equivalent of him shaking himself off. {Alt. If I can't listen to him, you can't, either. Do you think that just because something is easy, that means it's right? Sometimes it is. More often, it's not. It's hard and scary and confusing, but it's worth it. I would do anything for Jack, but I know he wouldn't stick by me if I cut loose like this piece of shit is saying I should. And the same goes for all the others I've met through the years. All the wonderful people I met who this guy killed in this universe. He only takes away from the world, he doesn't add to it. You know what adds to the world? The bonds you make. The physical world is made of bonds, the ties between electrons, and so is your emotional world. It might be easier to be a villain. But it's empty.}
Alt shakes himself off too, feeling determination surge through his mind and body. {…you’re right- our bonds… that’s what makes us different. That’s what makes us strong. It’s not a weakness to rely on others… it’s a strength!} White light flickers in his eyes- and his necklace starts to glow. {Being a villain is lonely! It is empty! I’m done living like that- I’m done pretending I don’t need people! I do! And you know what? That’s makes us stronger than you, fucker!}
Alt tries to reach out to eye-patch Anti again as well as reaching for his magic. Thinking of his friends and his family… the bonds he’s made.
Eye-patch Anti reaches down in turn. Alt can feel the Anti from this world trying to push them apart, a power similar to the Anti he knows, and yet distinguishable.
{W-what are you doing?!} This world's Anti demands.
{We're getting you the fuck out of his body, that's what!} Alt's friend says. Their powers reach each other, a set of clasping hands. {Alt, I have an idea. Glitch!}
{Okay!} Alt says, holding on tight to his friend. They glitch at the same time, focusing on driving this world’s Anti out of Alt’s body.
The others outside their head, watching concerned, suddenly see Alt's body glitch, it's form turning into green lightning. Marvin throws up another shield, a bigger one, protecting everyone as bolts of lightning connect to the walls. Bro cries out at the sight and then tries to cover some of the others. The bolts happen faster and faster, and a dark shadow gets flung away from the lightshow. It slams against the wall and forms into this world's Anti again, who glitches to his feet, glaring.
The electricity fades, and a new figure is standing in Alt's place. The figure wears a black scarf, the longer lengths hovering in midair, a red smiley face on each of the two ends. Under that is a black T-shirt hoodie with green sleeves and pocket, as well as a set of ripped jeans and black sneakers. His left eye is blue while is right is glowing green, both of them with black scleras. He looks down at himself, then up at this world's Anti. He grins. "I'm so going to take you down." His voice echoes slightly on each word.
Bro blinks open his eyes then gasps with a big smile, “Yeahhh!!! Kick his ass!!”
The fusion’s eyes flare brighter with blue and green as they feel their combined magic and power flow through their veins. They don’t feel like they’re gonna spilt apart this time- they’re working as one, a similar goal. The strength of their bond flows through them. “Heh- this is gonna be almost too easy!”
In a sudden flash of glitches, he appears right in front of Anti, grabbing him by the front of his shirt. They build up electricity in their other hand as they grin, “Hey, the name’s Amp, bitch. And I’ll make sure you remember that!” Then Amp send the force of lightning right into Anti’s face.
Anti doesn't try to dodge, expecting to resist the electricity--but this isn't just lightning. It's magic, too. Anti screams out, sounding more like a bursting speaker than a person, and his form breaks apart, falling to pixels in Amp's hands.
"H-holy shit!" Marvin gasps. "Thats--that's badass!"
Amp blinks and looks over at him. Then grins.
"Hell yeah it is!" Chase laughs, cheering. Bro cheers too, “Yeah go Amp!!” Jackie pumps his fist in the air. Schneep and JJ seem a bit overwhelmed, but JJ manages to give a supportive smile.
Anti partially reforms, limbs still mostly static, and lunges at Amp like a wild animal.
Amp whirls around and catches Anti’s wrists, grinning at him even more as he laughs in his face. “Nice try~!” He then throws Anti back with another shock of electricity.
The lightning races across Anti's form as he hits the wall—where he then breaks into shadowy green pixels. They scatter, splashing, and eventually coalescing again on the ground as a lump that forms back into an outline of a person with one green eye.
"We have all the power you do and more." Amp grins. "If I was you, I'd get out of here before we kick your ass back to your pocket dimension."
Anti gets to his feet and tries one last trick. The green light from his eye increases, the lights turning a deeper red as he tries to send fear into everyone who sees the green glow. The five guys from this world all pale, and Bro feels it, too. Bro curls in on himself, still trying to find a way to protect the other guys even as his body shakes with fear.
But Amp knows this trick. And he is—apparently—immune to it. "Fine, then! Let's do this."
Amp skids his foot back, both of his eyes lighting up with white and green light. And he rockets forward- almost like he’s flying. He slams Anti into the wall by his neck. And there’s the impression of wings on their back- wings made of lightning. But… they’re not like the ones Bro has seen before. They almost look like Luna moth wings.
Amp growls as white lightning flickers around them. “Let this serve as a lesson to you, Anti. That your ‘purpose’ doesn’t mean shit. Because in the end… if we fight together- you don’t stand a fucking chance.” Amp then shocks Anti with this light magic lightning- holding him for a second before letting him go. “Get out of here… and leave these guys alone.”
Anti falls to the floor, his expression hard to see as it's made of shadows. His gaze flicks to the wings for a moment... and then his form dissipates. The fear fades, and the light returns to normal. He is gone.
"Yeah, run, bitch!" Amp says triumphantly. Then he turns to look at the others, and his expression softens. "Are you all okay?"
"Ah... Chase is the only one who got hurt," Schneep says. "I think. Unless anyone else was hit?"
JJ taps his throat. There's a faint red line there.
"Ah, I will take care of that, Jamie," Schneep says. "It looks shallow."
"A-are you okay, JJ?" Jackie asks. "You were... the control, it..."
Jameson takes a deep breath. He nods. I'll be fine in a minute. It wasn't a good feeling, but I'll be fine.
"And Schneep?" Jackie asks. "H-he was grabbing you... right where..."
Schneep nods slowly, not looking directly at anyone. There's the faintest red line around his neck... too faded to be caused by the recent events, and the wrong shape, too. "I-I will be fine." He glances at Amp. "Ah... so... who are you? Are you... Alt?"
"I think... fusion?" Marvin asks quietly.
"Like Dragon Ball?" Chase asks. "Or Steven Universe?"
“Yeah it’s exactly like that!” Bro says excitedly, “Cuz of his glitches, Alt can fuse with his other selves!! It’s sooo cool!”
Amp laughs, “I suppose it is.” He places a hand on his chest, “I’m Amp. Alt and Anti.” He then looks down sympathetically at Chase. “…he’s not only hurt physically… but the other us messed with his mind…” The wings fade from their back as they glitch over to kneel down by Chase, “…maybe I can help?”
"H-help?" Chase asks, looking up. He glances around at the other four, all looking at him with concern.
"It's up to you, Chase," Schneep says quietly.
Chase hesitates. "I... I have the feeling that... s-something bad will happen if I... remember. But... I want to remember. I-I've been alone for so long. It feels like forever. If you guys really are my friends... I want to know you."
Amp frowns. "It might be a deep spell. But I'm sure I can help, even in that case. If... you want me to."
Chase is quiet for a moment. Then he slowly nods.
Amp smiles and then goes to take Chase’s head and puts his thumbs on his temples and closes their eyes. They press more of that light magic into Chase’s mind, hoping it can clear the corruption. He searches for Chase’s memories, trying to bring them forward.
Chase's mind is filled with static. It doesn't block out his thoughts, but everything is covered in a fine layer of fuzzy film. The farther down Amp dives, the more intense it becomes. Snatches of moments pass through their mind, things that happened in the past year. Mostly Chase being on the run, out on his own traveling the countryside, but there is a stint of time where he's stuck in a small room that makes their blood boil just seeing it. And always, images of that Anti from before.
But then the light comes, clearing away the static, chasing away the shadows. A wave that washes away the dark noise. Memories come to light. Time spent with these five others, and one more. There is strife in there, but there is more joy, as all the little moments of happiness rise to the surface again. The static is deeply woven, but Amp manages to get almost all of it. Time will cause the rest to fade.
Chase blinks. He looks around at the others with newfound clarity. "...Schneep? J-Jackie?" he breathes. "J-Jameson! Marvin!" A small green eyeball flies forward, and Amp feels more of the static fade. Chase laughs. "Sam! H-holy shit!"
"Do you remember us?!" Schneep asks, eyes wide.
"Y-yeah. I think... I think I got most of it back." Chase smiles at them. "I-I can't believe I forgot!"
Amp lets Chase go and glitches to their feet, smiling back at him. “Glad we could help.”
Bro grins and goes to clap Chase on the back, “Good that you’re all back to normal, dude!”
Then, Amp suddenly winces and grabs at their chest.
“Alt?!” Amp exclaims in worry.
“T-Too… much…!” He pants, their eyes flickering. They stumble back, more glitches taking over their body. Then there’s another burst of electricity from them- but this time it throws them apart, Anti shooting out as pixels one way, Alt flying back the other. Alt’s body skids across the floor before he stills and flops down in a limp heap, his skin very pale and dark bags under his eyes.
"A-Alt!" Schneep shouts, turning towards him. He scrambles to his feet, grabbing the first aid kit and rushing over. "What—what happened?!"
Marvin and JJ also rush over. "H-he said too much," Marvin recalls. "He must have used a lot of magic."
Anti reforms, shaking his head. He glances around at the room, then glitches back over to Alt, causing the other three to jump. "He's been through a lot the past little while," Anti explains. "Alt! C-can you hear us?"
Bro pushes past the others and tries to hold Alt up, “Alt!!”
Alt is completely limp as Bro holds him up, breathing heavily and wheezing. His face is flushed and green magic flashes in his veins, mixed with a bit of white. He weakly tries to open his eyes but doesn’t seem to register anything before they flutter shut again.
Bro sighs and tries to check him over, “…too much magic yeah… I’ve seen this before… and I bet being possessed by that other Anti didn’t help…”
"W-well, uh—here, you can lie him down on my bed." Jackie points. "Is there anything else we need to, uh, help him out? It's usually just rest for Marvin. And sometimes water if he does something incredibly stupid."
"This isn't the time," Marvin says between gritted teeth.
“Water probably will help… he usually gets a fever like this.” Bro says quietly, pushing himself to his feet while holding Alt. He hurries over to lay Alt down. Alt sighs a bit and mumbles incoherently, eyelids fluttering.
Jackie nods. He gets up and rushes to the bathroom, returning a second later with a plastic cup full of water.
"Marvin, do you know any like... cooling spells? Or something?" Chase asks.
Marvin shakes his head. "My specialty is fire and light. Ice and cold is difficult for me. I can't wrap my head around it."
"Why? It is just the opposite of heat," Schneep says.
"It's much more complicated than that," Marvin insists. "Don't you have something in your first aid kit?"
Schneep starts looking through it. "Ah... I have a cold pack? Pressure activated, just squeeze it. Would that help?"
Bro takes the water from Jackie and sits up Alt to try to get him to drink. He seems just conscious enough to swallow when the water gets brought to his lips, which has Bro sighing in relief. He helps him back down and looks back at the others. “Uh- ice pack should be good. I think the fever is the only thing we can really help… magic overload only gets better with time as far as I know.”
"It's the same here," Marvin confirms.
Schneep pulls out the cold pack, a plastic thing with a bunch of blue crystallized gel inside. He squeezes it as he hurries over to Alt, then puts it on his forehead. "We can move it if he asks," he says. "This should last a couple hours. If we need more, we have to buy them. They should be found in any local pharmacy."
Alt seems to relax a bit, making a content sound. Bro smiles and nods his thanks to Schneep. “t-Thanks man… I think this should be enough…”
Bro blinks then looks around, “Oh uh- do you guys need help getting patched up? Some of you were hurt right?”
"Pretty much just me," Chase mutters. "Got stabbed. Twice."
"I can help with that, Chase," Schneep says, taking out bandages. "Take off your shirt so I can examine the wounds."
Chase laughs. "Man... you know, if I hadn't just remembered you guys, I would say no to that." He glances at Bro. "And if you weren't me from another world." He starts taking his shirt off.
"That's... insane, by the way," Marvin says. "You're like if Chase and Jackie were fused together. I can't believe this other world stuff."
Bro laughs and sits down on the bed next to Alt. “I’ll take that as a compliment! But uh yeah- I’m also Chase~! But you know… uh- superhero?” He says with a sheepish smile and a shrug. “Good to officially meet you all… sorry it wasn’t under great circumstances.”
Sam flies over and sits down on Alt's stomach, curling their nerve-tail around themself.
Marvin nods. "I'm Marvin, this is Schneep, and this is JJ." Schneep nods.
A superhero? JJ says, eyes wide. That would explain your powers.
"Right?!" Jackie grins. "It's so cool! I think he's like—an official superhero! Not like me, not really."
Bro grins, “I mean I was a vigilante once! Our city just finally decided to work with me, but damn it was not easy…”
"Speaking of you." Schneep glances over at him. "The fuck were you thinking?!"
"Oh here we go." Jackie sighs.
"Yes of course here we go! You cannot just leave like that! Leaving behind some vague message about finding Chase yourself and then not answering any of our texts! You could have at least kept in contact!"
Bro blinks and looks between Jackie and Schneep. “…Schneep does have a point-“
"I..." Jackie swallows a lump in his throat. "I was sure that Anti was behind Chase's disappearance. If I told you guys where I was, he might be able to see through our text messages, or hear through our phone calls."
JJ frowns. There must have been another way. Did you ever think about sending a letter?
Jackie stares at him. Then he slowly leans back... and slaps his hand over his eyes. He groans. "I'm so fucking stupid."
"Well, I didn't think of that either," Marvin says, frowning.
JJ smiles a bit smugly. You kids and your new-fangled technology.
"Don't tell me you don't enjoy that new-fangled technology," Marvin says, chuckling a little.
Bro laughs, “To be fair- who thinks of letters now of days?”
"This guy, apparently." Chase points at JJ, then winces as the movement irritates the wound on his upper arm. "But... if I'm remembering correctly, that's probably because of the time period you're from, right?"
JJ nods. Phones were still new.
“Oh! Are you from out of time too, JJ?” Bro asks curiously.
JJ blinks, surprised at the response.
"Oh, we were being pretty casual about it, weren't we?" Jackie laughs.
"What do you mean, 'too'?" Schneep asks. "You and your brothers seem like modern men."
“Oh we are! But our friend Henny is from out of time! He’s from the 1930s!” Bro says.
"Well, yeah, JJ's from like...1927, was it?" Jackie says.
JJ nods. Exactly. Though I don't think your Henrik got to this time the same way I did. Since you don't seem to have an Anti there. Well... Alt doesn't count.
Bro grins, “yeah… it’s kinda crazy huh? All our friends are like you all… just- swapped around..?”
Marvin laughs. "Definitely seems like that. I guess Alt is like me, then?" His smile fades slightly. "He said you don't know where your Marvin is...h-huh."
Bro blinks, “…Alt said that?” He looks over at Alt with a bit of concern. “…Alt is… more like you yeah but… we have someone like Anti… that’s how Henny got pulled into our time… by a villain named.. Magnificent.”
"...Magnificent," Marvin whispers. "Why… wouldn't Alt say that?"
"He probably didn't want you to freak out," Jackie says.
"Probably." Marvin looks down, eyes going distant for a moment. "A villain, huh. A villain." He holds out a hand and conjures up a swirl of light. Mostly green, but with some purple around the edges.
“…I think he knows how… hard it is. To know other people see your face… and think of a villain…” Bro says quietly. “…I think he didn’t want you to… go through that.” He watches the magic with a bit of fascination, but a hint of caution, seeing the purple.
JJ nods slowly. That's a parallel, I suppose. I'm here because of Anti. But I didn't exactly get pulled through time. I was... He pauses. I suppose you could say frozen in time? I didn't age for a long, long while.
Bro  looks back towards JJ and looks concerned. “Frozen…? God- how does that work…?”
JJ hesitates. His eyes can't help but flick back towards Anti, standing in the corner. Anti notices this and slowly fades away, returning to Alt's phone—which he sat on the desk earlier. JJ looks a bit guilty about driving him away, but continues on. I was... possessed... by our Anti, Jameson signs slowly. His host. That seemed to keep me alive in the state I was in when it happened. Until Marvin rescued me.
Bro’s face falls, “Oh… that’s… that’s fucking awful JJ my god…”
JJ takes a deep, shuddering breath. I'm working on it. These guys have been a great help to me.
Jackie smiles. "Always there for you, J."
And I truly appreciate that. JJ smiles at him.
Bro smiles, “I’m glad you found good friends dude…you all seem like great lads…”
Chase shakes his head. "I can't believe I forgot you. Let that bastard do things to my head."
Bro blinks over to Chase and swallows, “…do you… do you remember…? What Anti did to you…? Uh you don’t have to say if it’s too much…”
Chase is quiet for a moment. "He... took my kids," he says softly. "Bobby—Roberta—and Trevor. J-Jackie, too, but that came later. It's a long story... but at the end of it, he told me the kids could go home safe if I left town and... let him fuck with my memories. H-he'd already been messing with them for a while, then, but it would be harder to shake off if I agreed."
"Holy shit, Chase," Jackie whispers. "You didn't have to do that. Th-they were going to get home."
Chase shakes his head. "I know you helped them get out, but he found them again quickly. I didn't... want to risk it."
Bro’s eyes widen and he looks at Chase in shock, “J-Jesus dude…” He’s quiet for a bit before trying to laugh, “…guess it’s a good thing I ran into you huh? …maybe now you can finally go home and see them.”
"Heh." Chase smiles softly. "If he didn't go back on his word once you guys restored my memory."
Marvin shakes his head. "There's no way he knows that happened right now. Besides... when we left to look for you and Jackie, I-I got the whole Circle to cast some protection spells on them."
"The whole Circle?" Chase repeats, confused.
"Oh. Yeah, I ran into this magician group who call themselves the Magic Circle. They're... alright enough. Helping me with my ABIM-required book of spells. And I help them out with some spells in turn. I still owe them a big favor for the protection."
Chase sighs in relief. "Well... that's reassuring. I can relax a bit more."
Bro beams and nods, “See! You’ll be okay, bro! I bet your kids miss the hell out of you.”
"They really do," Schneep assures him.
"I miss the hell out of them, too," Chase says quietly. He takes a deep breath and pulls his shirt back on. "Well. W-we can't really go back yet, can we? I want to be sure Alt is okay first. A-and it's getting late, anyway."
“Oh yeah right-“ Bro blinks back at Alt, “…we can’t all just take up Jackie’s room… maybe I’ll go see if I can get me and Alt one…”
"We do have a hotel room," Marvin says. "But it's across the city... but all our stuff is there..." He sighs. "I wish I could teleport to places without needing to see them."
“I mean… if Alt was awake… he could-“ Bro sighs. “I dunno if he has enough in him to glitch you across the city though. Oh! But maybe Anti can help?” He looks back around, blinking when he doesn’t see him. “Oh did he go back in Alt’s phone?”
Anti appears again, leaving the phone. "Don't want to intrude."
"Oh fuck!" Chase jumps slightly. "Oh, uh... s-sorry, I know you're a good guy, but..."
Anti nods slowly. "If you want, I can get your stuff for you. My glitching can't really transport people. Objects are fine, though."
Marvin frowns. "I'd rather go back to the hotel room... It's, uh... nicer than this place."
"Where'd you guys end up?" Jackie asks.
"Some place called the Sola-Ray."
Jackie laughs. "That's funny. Sola, like sun. This is the Twelve Moon Motel. Parallels. Celestial theme."
Anti frowns. "I... don't know if my shortcuts work here. But I can try. Move you guys all over there."
Bro blinks in confusion back at Anti, “Oh yeah I guess your glitching is different than Alt’s… I mean I could always fly some of you guys! Chase didn’t seem to hate it!” He grins.
Jackie raises his eyebrow. "Chase didn't hate it? Chase is afraid of heights! Unless you forgot that, too?"
"No, I didn't, but it was fine," Chase says, shrugging.
"What, are you going to dangle us like Tails does with Sonic?" Jackie asks. "Or carry us bridal style like Superman does with Lois Lane? Are we gonna ride piggy back?"
Bro blinks and thinks, “I think I carried Chase kinda lois lane style? But I’ve done all of those before to be honest-“
Marvin groans. "At this point, why don't we all just crowd into my car and I can drive us back to the hotel?"
“You have a car?? Why didn’t you just say that!” Bro laughs.
Marvin shrugs. "It'll be a squeeze with all of us in there, that's why. It's only designed to seat five people, and there's two more of you guys. Well... technically three, but it looks like that other Anti can fit in a phone easy enough."
"I uh... kind of want to try flying," Jackie says. "So... me and Bro can follow you guys, maybe? If that's okay with you, Bro."
“Yeah I’m okay with that!” Bro laughs. “It’s not usual that I get someone who actually volunteers!” He blinks at the others, “Does that mean you all could take Alt? …I might be able to carry both Alt and Jackie though-“
That doesn't sound safe, JJ signs slowly.
"It is fine, we'll keep an eye on him," Schneep says. "As a doctor, I would not feel comfortable leaving his side while he has a fever."
Chase smiles. "Ah... always so caring beneath the grumpy exterior."
"I... also might... feel like I owe him a bit," Schneep says awkwardly. "I reacted badly when he glitched in front of us."
Marvin nods. "Yeah... it's the least we can do. We'll keep an eye on him."
Bro furrows his eyebrows then blinks. “Oh… you’re the one that…” He laughs a bit, “Man.., I remember that I was ready to come in and kick all your asses… Alt was so scared…” He looks back at his brother.
Alt seems to be resting pretty peacefully now, still breathing a bit heavy because of the fever but he doesn’t seem in any danger.
Schneep looks ashamed. "I-I will apologize first thing when he wakes up."
Bro smiles and shakes his head, “Hey don’t worry Schneep… now I get why… and I’m sure Alt didn’t make it easy by not being… completely truthful with you all…”
"I get why, though," Marvin says quietly.
Bro eventually nods back towards the others, “Alright- I trust you all to keep him safe then.”
Chase nods. "W-we'll do that."
"And we'll be very careful," Marvin says. "I promise."
Let's head off, JJ says.
"Whoo! Flying trip!" Jackie grins.
He grins at Jackie and hops to his feet, “Flying trip! How you wanna do it, bro?” He laughs.
"Well, uh..." Jackie pauses. "Just carry me like you did Chase. Oh, I have a suitcase, though. Marvin can I load that into your car real quick?"
"Yeah, sure, put it in the boot," Marvin says, shrugging.
"Cool. " Jackie heads to the wardrobe and grabs his stuff. "Let's go, then. I gotta check out."

another prompt: samjosh + late nights
it’s in a sleepless haze that josh looks over at sam, and maybe for the first time, truly sees him.
he doesn’t know why now. there’s nothing particularly special about tonight. a deadline they have to meet. a bill that has to be signed. a speech that has to be written. there’s been plenty of nights like these, where the caffeine has long since gone cold and the hours wind on and on. they don’t seem to be any closer to their goal than they were five hours ago, but there’s a comfort here anyway, because while there’s nothing special about tonight, there’s something special about sam.
maybe it’s the light, the new LEDs really playing tricks on josh’s eyes. maybe it’s the fifth (sixth, seventh) cup of coffee. but there’s something there that josh hasn’t seen before.
because an hour ago sam’s laptop died, and yet the guy hasn’t stopped writing. he takes out a pen and paper and keeps at it. surely his hand should be cramping by now, but with each stroke he seems more determined, more incensed, more…. sam.
his hair’s loosened from its careful styling. josh’s fingers twitch. right there. that’s where he’d kiss him, if he could.
weird thoughts. but all centered around him.
sam.
sam. sam, sam, sam.
“hmm?”
the veneer shatters. sam looks up, looks at him, and josh realizes his thoughts have been spoken aloud. and as sam looks at him, josh can’t help but look right back, frozen, pen between his lips.
“wha’sat?”
“you…” sam blinks. confused. eyes bleary. he’s been broken from something sacred, and josh curses himself for doing that to him. “you said…”
“right. i was just -“
“right.”
the two of them sit there, in the glare of new LEDs, in a kitchen that in two hours will have breakfast on display, and stare at each other.
see each other.
“we should really go to bed,” josh finally murmurs. “i - i gotta call holihan in the morning.”
“it is the morning,” sam replies, and there’s a quirk to his lips that makes josh laugh.
“right,” he says again.
neither of them bother moving. josh looks, and sees sam, and he thinks, with that little smile, sam sees him, too.
“sam?” he says. their eyes are already meeting, but there’s a sharpness to that gaze that wasn’t there before. “i’m - i’m really glad you came to new hampshire.”
and sam grins. which josh wishes he never had to stop seeing.
“me, too, josh. me, too.”

I have been absorbed by the ViktorxTakashi au and now I can't help but imagine kid!mc noticing they have feelings for each other and immediately deciding that getting them together is their new most important mission ("No, Rin, listen to me, if we don't do something, they will never confess! No, no, that's what always happens, they will end up like Anita and Lucio from the telenovela, trust me!") and recruiting Ash and Rin to help them. ("Flowers are traditional. We should get red roses, to make sure they get the message." *And candles! So many candles!") "Subtly" arranging for them to spend time together, attempting to engineer romantic scenarios and failing miserably, eventually attempting to "trick" them into romantic dinner (they needed to get a grown-up helper for this in form of either Luka or Cara, because they are little and can't cook. The accomplice had to be sworn to secrecy under blood oath (no actual blood was spilt, it just sounded cool)) Viktor suspected what was going on for some time, but the climax comes the day Takashi and Rin were supposed to come for a playdate and all of his clothes except for his fanciest outfit have mysteriously disappeared. (Mcs wardrobe is not weirdly full, what are you talking about, yes they wear all of these clothes, why are you asking so many questions, what are you, a cop) The "DO NOT ENTER" sign in the door to the dinning room is likewise something of a giveaway. Bemused Takashi arrives dresses to the nines, smug Rin in tow. MC, Ash and the Accomplice appear, suspiciously covered in glitter. Accomplice takes the kids outside under the thinnest ruse imaginable. ("You two rest, there's dinner already served." Children trying not to giggle, failing miserably.) Enter the dinning room - glittery paper hearts hanging all over, red balloons, flowers, candles, romantic sax solo blasting from the speakers, the whole nine yards. It is a mess, but it is from the heart. Children come back to the two of them holding hands, victorious celebration ensues.
(they have been together for months at this point but haven't told the kids yet, because the attempts were just too entertaining)

Oh my God, anon 😭 This is soo cutee and sweet that I just squealed inside while reading this! 😩🥰 Also, the ending where it’s revealed that they’ve been dating for months without anyone knowing yet is just… *chef’s kiss* perfect 😙👌🏻
You’re really tempting me to write a proper side story for this 🥺 Alas, I gotta work on Chapter 5 now. But one day, if I manage to write this, I’ll make sure to make it public too like Luka and Yvette side story. Maybe more people will get on the Vikashi (Viktor x Takashi) AU train 😆

So I've recently made a new AO3 account (completely separate from my main one, different email and everything lmao) bc I want to start writing porn, and I was wondering if I could have your permission to use some of your asks as like, prompts or ideas? Especially ones that were my own (this is PP!Tim Anon btw, and I've sent in. A lot of asks without signing them off as that, like I could make an entire list and it would probably hit double digits of which asks you've gotten that were mine lmao)!! I would ofc credit you and your blog! I don't know how to imbed links to the individual asks (I'll still try but I can't promise anything lmao), but I'll at least mention your Tumblr name and AO3 account!
I really wanna try my hand at some random, filthy oneshots without a bunch of world building or context, bc that's something I tend to get hung up on in my writing, and I wanna stick to some short and sweet smut oneshots about Tim being a pregnant, underage nympho slut, or a puppy factory, or a cocksleeve for the rogues of Gotham and their goons, all that good stuff!!
On that thought tho, do you have any pieces of advice for like, consistent writing, or motivation to write? Bc that's my biggest struggle tbh is sitting down to start writing. Usually once I start I can churn out a couple thousand words in one sitting, but I gotta start first, ya know? Any words of wisdom would mean a lot ❤️❤️❤️
answered out of order:
yes of course❤️❤️❤️!!!!!!!!!!!! you don't believe how happy that makes me to hear!!!! so many of the asks i get sent are just so brilliant and well done and it would make me so beyond happy to know people started writing or got inspired to write out their ideas!!! and i'm sure that people who submitted other posts you get inspiration from would love to see others expand further on their asks ❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!
one shots are a really great way to really get back into a sort of groove of writing because it can be shorter, the plot may be not as dense or complex as something from a multichap (though you can also write VERY long one shots that are incredibly detailed too), and it can be mainly composed of "fun" writing in the sense that you don't have to do buildup for bigger things like you would in longer multichaps or those that are heavily plot driven. i totally get struggling to get motivation to write, for me it was always like i had to wait for my brain to be turned "on" or in a working mode for me to get any writing for my fics done which meant it usually only happened when i was studying for exams or doing projects for school. however for me that meant when i was in the 'off season' like breaks from school it meant that even though i had time, i no longer had motivation to write. that's something i'm still working to break myself out of and i think one think that is pretty effective is thinking of a scene or piece of dialogue i'm excited to write and look forward to getting to so it motivates to write to reach it. that works sometimes, other times i think of a reward i'll get myself once i finally finish. something like candy or some snack or food i don't often get or go out of my way to get. and another thing that works for me sometimes is basically planning the fic, for a short one shot the major bullet points of what happen would be a short list and so it would pretty much trick your brain into thinking 'wow a short task list i can do all of these pretty quickly/complete them without too much hassel or procrastination!'.
ultimately i think writing one shots takes a lot of pressure off since as a single chapter there's basically no further commitment needed like it would during a multi chapter fic which can be very relieving for people who get easily stressed or pressured by commitments with no hard deadline.
im very happy to hear you'll be expanding on your tim ideas and look forward to them!!!!!! also if you need any help with embedding on aow the reference collection on ao3 is really helpful and its where i learned to embed links with this tutorial ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The sign leading from Mesagoza to Grasswither reads 'Come and visit the spookiest place in South Province(Area One)! Right this way!' followed by an arrow underneath.
Following it led to a decorated hole in the rock face, where the presence of new faces brings out the friendly Pokemon who resides within.

Wo: "Greetings~! I'm glad that you managed to find your way to my shrine without getting lost~! I don't have that much to choose from treat-wise, aside from fruits that I've grown, and from what I've managed to get from various stores around the region, but I do hope that you like what I have, regardless~!"
He sets the treat bowl down onto a table that he had put out earlier.
Wo: "You can take these, but make sure to leave some for anyone coming here after you~!"

He did choose CotL Leshy for his Halloween getup this year, as it was what suited him the most, and it was easy to put it onto him too.
Okidogi and Ogerpon shall be here soon too! Just gotta figure out their getups before they all go trick-or-treating together!
This is also a way of saying that anyone wanting to can put 'trick or treat' asks in the box for him too! Even after Halloween has come and gone, they'll still be answered!

hi hi hi! i love the way you write felpac + their dynamic, nd i was wondering if u had any tips on how to accurately capture their Vibe? i was thinking about potentially writing them in the future but i gotta admit i havent watched much of felps's pov + i want to make sure i get it right!! :'D (obv im gonna do some research on my own too but if you have any insights / tricks / observations then that would be greatly appreciated <3)
hi \o/!! this character voice cheat sheet by @/echotunes is a really good resource (link)
some other general things is that they’re very silly together. pac seems to be oblivious to any feelings felps might have for him (which I chalk up to pac assuming it’s just felps being felps and “unpredictable”—aka any signs he shows he doesn’t seriously mean) whereas felps doesn’t seem to want to make the first move for whatever reason (he was hoping pac would come talk to him about the kiss rather than seeking pac out to bring it up first)
they have the vibe of people who have known each other for a long time even if they weren’t close for that entire time (fuga being 8 years ago—but I also like to say they met up pre-qsmp and spent some time together becoming friends, but that’s personal preference)
this is, of course, small aspects of their relationship—I don’t really have the energy to sum up ever my little detail here right now and I’m just going off the top of my head oops
another thing: they don’t often have serious/sad moments together so you kind of have to base it on how they act in other situations. (Both of them can get quite panicky, but pac is more prone to spiraling whereas felps is more prone to trying not to think about it)
some vods where they spend time together:
-freeing new members from the ice prison
-this vod of pac’s from 2:29:00
-this vod of tazercraft’s 2hrs in
-and of course festa junina \o/
good luck with writing \o/!!! always happy to see new felpac fics \o/!!! (if you have any more specific questions feel free to ask as well—I’m always happy to talk about them pfft)

If ur taking Giovanni prompts; maybe Giovanni teaching (or trying to teach) Leo how to lie and deceive for whatever reason. Maybe they want to switch places with each other or something for whatever reason (like maybe just to mess with people) but for the ruse to work Leo needs to be to, you know, trick/deceive/lie. Or something like that; u could do what u want.
I had another idea, but that one was already quite a lot and the ideas are very different.
(oh i'll take any and all ideas! i loveee writing things for people so go wild if u want!)
"You have too many giveaways."
Leo puffs his cheeks in annoyance, glaring at his twin as if he'd said the most unimaginable thing possible.
"Well, what do you want me to do!" he huffs, evidently frustrated.
Van doesn't so much as blink. "For one...you could- I dunno- lie better?"
He hides a snicker as Leo swings a fist at him. "Vanni!" he whines.
"What?" Van grins widely, mock innocence painted on his ten year old face. "Look, some of us are just better at this sort of stuff."
"Yeah, well- lying is bad anyway!"
It's hilarious, really, riling up his twin like this. They'd been wanting to play this prank for a good long while now, but deception wasn't really Leo's strong suit.
While he was as much as a troublemaker as Giovanni, he couldn't make up a story to save his life. It was no wonder he was always sulking in the naughty-corner whilst Van got away, scot-free.
"Master Splinter did give us a lesson on lying," Van points out.
He hadn't really. He'd instead lectured them on the importance of neutrality and how one must toy with emotions rather than using classic combat to reach their goals. But that's the long answer, and no one has time for that.
"How can you be a ninja without lying?"
"By not getting caught," Leo deadpans. He spins around, shell to his brother as he wallows in his sorrows quietly.
Van saunters up to him, still wearing his signature grin. "C'mon... Look, if you get rid of those tell-tale signs, no one would be able to tell. S'all you gotta do."
Leo scrunches his beak but nods. "Okay. How do I do that?"
"First, you gotta look them in the eye," Van starts seriously, suddenly feeling like a teacher. It's not often he gets to play this role with Leonardo. "You also do this one thing where you fiddle with your hands or wrappings. Don't do that. Stay still. Smile if you have to."
"Is that all?" Leo asks with furrowed brows. "Really?"
Van hums. "Yup! Sure, takes time and it's wayyy more complicated than that, but I think it'll do for now."
"For now," Leo echoes. His shoulders slump unhappily.
Van nudges him in the side. "Obviously. Hey, I'm not perfect! It'll take years to master it, but d'you wanna play this prank or not?"
Then as if all his problems had melted away, Leo brightens, breaking into a smile that matches his twin's.
They trade masks, from blue to green, and green to blue.
Identical amber eyes meet and something akin to giddiness takes place.
"Wow," Leo whistles, looking at his brother. "We do look the same."
"That's what being a twin means, dummy," Van snorts, doing the final tie of his new mask. The tails are shorter but he shrugs them off his shoulder and stands tall. "Ready for your first successful prank?"
"And if I flub it?" Leo's gaze drops to his feet. A hand on his shoulder has him looking up again.
"Then old Vanni here's gonna save the day!" Van laughs. "I've got your back, bro!

"I always will."

Burgers and Fires
[ Welcome to the CotC fic I finished at 12:40 something am last night because the new episode made me emotional lmao. Spoilers for Craig to the Future below! ]
:readmore:
“Thank you Herkleton! That was the last song of tonight. Exits are located in the back, along with our merch stands wink wink. Have a safe trip home and a rocking night!”
The crowd cheered one last time, before turning and heading back to the lobby, right where Craig was waiting. Kit nudged his arm.
“Alright, last wave of sales.” She said.
“Yep,” Craig said, staring at the doors. Omar and JP had just entered the lobby, laughing together. Kelsey and Stacks were nowhere to be seen.
“I can handle these guys, you go on.” Kit said. Craig jumped a bit before looking back at her. He took in her sideways smile and felt his brow furrow.
“Are you sure? The crowd is bound to be bigger now--”
“Come on Craig, I know you’ve been antsy all night. Go ask them to hang out or something, I can handle the crowd.”
“All right, if you’re sure…” Craig His chest felt like it was full of ants as he approached the duo. It had ended so awkwardly before the concert, but he couldn’t let this chance slip away. Their group had been steadily growing apart since JP entered high school, and he missed his friends so much.
Craig bit the bullet and called out to them. “Hey, JP! Omar!” The two turned their heads.
“Hey, Craig!” JP said, walking over to meet him. “Man, did you see Katie’s trick up there?”
“Nah, I was back at the merch stand.”
“Why?” Omar asked, slinging his arm around JP’s shoulder. “Are they paying ya’?”
“Oh, kind of? David actually commissioned me to make the T-shirts over there and he asked if I’d help man the stand as well.” Craig rubbed the back of his neck.
“Dude really? That’s sick!” Omar said, face lighting up.
“Aw come here!” JP pulled Craig into a hug. “I’m so proud of you man! I’ve definitely gotta buy one now. Babe, you still have my wallet?”
“Right here.” Omar tossed the small leather wallet over to JP, who caught it in one hand.
“Be right back!” JP rushed into the crowd gathered around the stand, leaving Craig and Omar alone,
A few beats of silence passed before Craig gathered up the courage to talk. “So, you guys doing anything after this?”
“Mmm probably just hanging out nearby, maybe grab a bite to eat, you know.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Moment of truth. “You want to come with me to get some burgers?”
“I’m down for that.” Omar smiled. “It’s been way too long since we’ve hung out.” Craig smiled back and put his hands in his pockets. They chatted a bit more while waiting for JP to come back, mostly about teachers at school.
“Oh yeah, no Mrs. Denadio was the worst. One time, she assigned a whole project and only gave us two days to work on it.”
“No. Don’t tell me that’s the final project she’s been talking about all semester.”
“Good luck, man.”
“Hey, guys!” JP called as he ran over, wearing the t-shirt over his sweater. “What do y’all think?” He posed a bit, showing off the shirt.
“As handsome as always, babe. Craig wanted to go grab some food with us, you down for that?”
“Oh absolutely! Let’s go celebrate your first step on the road to fame.
It was odd how easily they fell back into a familiar pattern of banter. (But not at all unwelcome.) Craig felt like he was ten again, walking alongside two of his best friends as they chatted. It just stung remembering that there was only one redhead with them now.
The burger place’s ‘open 24-hours’ sign glowed a neon blue onto the trio’s faces. JP held the door open for the other two as they entered the building. It smelled like over-salted fries and grilled meat, with just a few people sitting at tables.
“Welcome, what can I get you three?” The cashier looked like they wanted to be anywhere else, especially with the huge eye bags they had.
“I’ll have a cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake,” Craig said.
“And add two number three combos to that,” Omar said, pulling out his wallet.
“I can pay for my stuff,” Craig said.
“No way man, I’ll cover tonight.” Omar winked at him and passed a card over to the cashier.
“Thanks.”
“Alright, here’s your receipt. We’ll get the food out in a bit.” The trio stepped back from the register. JP leaned against a pillar while Omar grabbed their cups and went to the soda fountain. Pulling out his phone to text his parents, Craig shot a quick message to the family group chat telling them where he was.
An electronic bell signified that the front door had opened again, and Craig looked up. Kelsey and Stacks walk in hand in hand, Kelsey was rambling about something while Stacks watched her with adoring eyes. Craig felt his heart seize for a moment. The last time he had talked to Kelsey, like really talked to her, was back in middle school, and when they bumped into each other at the concert, she was so quick to find a reason to leave.
“Hey, Kels!” JP called out. Kelsey and Stacks both looked over. Stacks smiled and waved, but for a brief moment, Kelsey looked scared, which terrified Craig more than anything. (Because if he got back in touch with JP and Omar without her, it would never feel right. There would always be something missing.)
“Hi JP! Fancy seeing you here.” Stacks said as she led Kelsey over to the two of them. “You bought one of their shirts?”
“Duh! I had to, especially since ol’ Craiggy boy did the art.” JP boasted, gesturing at Craig who giggled at the old nickname and praise.
Kelsey looked at Craig with wide eyes. “You designed those?”
“Uh, y-yeah.”
“Dude! Those look so good! I didn’t know that you could draw that good! I mean, I knew that you could draw well but, like,” Kelsey started rambling, scrambling for the right words.
“What she means is,” Stacks placed her spare hand on Kelsey’s shoulder. “The shirts look really good, Craig!”
“Thanks.” Craig and Kelsey smiled at each other for a moment before looking away again.
“You want to sit with us?” Craig finally asked, bridging the gap.
“Yeah, sure. Let’s get our food first though.” Kelsey and Stacks walked over to the register.
“Dude, what was that?” Omar said, handing JP his drink. “Did you and Kelsey have a fight or something?”
“No. At least I don’t think so, it just…” Craig sighed. “We kept drifting apart once we stopped hanging out at the Creek as much, once I started high school. We never saw each other in the halls anymore, and I started working on art more seriously and got together with Vanessa, and Kelsey got into wrestling properly and started working on her book with Stacks and… I don’t know. It’s weird.”
“Well,” Omar said, after a long sip of his drink. “I think you guys will be fine.”
“Really?”
“Sometimes you don’t talk to someone for a while, life happens,” Omar shrugged. “But when you are as close as the four of us are, you can always slip right back into a conversation like no time has passed.”
“You really think so?”
“I know so. I mean, just look at us.” Omar smiled.
“Yeah, man!” JP added.
“Thanks, guys.” Craig felt a bit better, like there was hope for the old "Stump Kids" after all.
“Order forty-three!” An employee called from the counter, and Omar ran to go grab it.
“Just talk to her, Craig,” JP said. “Hey, maybe we could even go on a triple date some time!”
“You sure about that?”
“Yeah, I’ll call Maney and ask if she’d be down for that, I know Omar would.”
“I’ll think about it,” Craig said. "And ask Vanessa." Omar came back with the trays of food and led the three of them to a corner booth. Soon, Kelsey and Stacks joined them with their own food.
"So, how's the book going?" JP asked before shoving some fries in his mouth.
"Relly good, actually! We're super close to finishing." Stacks said.
"And then it's getting sent off to the publishers!" Kelsey said with a cheshire grin.
"Man, that's sick! Will ya let me read it once it's done?" Omar said.
"You can buy a copy like everyone else, unless we get a punlishing deal within half a year." Stacks said, smiling slyly.
"Well then, get ready to let us read that book for free because I have no dobut you'll get that deal in no time!" JP cheered.
"Oh to have no knowledge of the publishing world." Kelsey sighed, causing Stacks to giggle.
The conversation fell into a lull, leaving the group to pick at their food. Craig glanced up at Kelsey sitting across from him, and steeled his resolve.
"I'm sorry, Kelsey."
"Huh?" Kelsey looked up at Craig, fry halfway on the way to her mouth.
"I should have... I don't know. I should have tried harder to reach out to you and stay in touch, or--"
"Craig," Kelsey cut him off. "I'm sorry too. I-- when you got to high school I was scared that you were going to stop wanting to be friends so I didn't ask you to hang out as much and--"
"No, I'm--"
"Okay, that's enough." JP cutoff Craig and put an end to the apology loop. "You two both difted apart, but neither of you are completely at fault. Yeah you two might have been able to do something differently, but what's done is done. And now we're here, eating burgers and hanging out, even after all that." JP slung his arm around Omar. "We're stuck together guys, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Besides, you promised I could officiate your wedding, Craig, and I still plan on getting that certification."
"Heh, yeah." Craig looked back around Kelsey. "I really missed you."
"I missed you too." Kelsey slipped out of her side of the booth and onto Craig's side, wrapping him into a hug. "Don't let me be dumb like that again."
"You weren't dumb, Kelsey." Craig hugged her back and rested his chin on her head. "We both messed up, I'm so sorry."
"Stop saying your sorry." Kelsey laughed into the hug before pulling back and wiping at her eyes. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too."
[ yeah thats it lmao sorry. Check out my other cotc stuff on Ao3, I’m sparklepool101, and orange poncho has consumed my mind now :) ]

Girls meet meat! à la carte Part 5
Previously: Part 4
Tumblr media
Maika: Alright, here we are! Now then, let the barbecue…commence!
Honoka: At long last!
Maika: That said, we’ve still got a lot of setup work to do, like prepping the ingredients.
Maika: Anyone feeling particularly confident in their knife skills?
Tumblr media
Silence.
Maika: …What, really? No one?
Haruna: The way you said it really turned up the pressure…
Honoka: I’d have to say I’m probably below average…
Shiho: I’m completely hopeless with a knife.
Maika: …Alright, Haruna, please and thank you.
Haruna: O-okay. I’ll do my best.
Maika: Then, Honoka, can I get you to start the fire?
Honoka: Can do, boss!
Maika: If you need help with it, you can ask the person on duty. They’ll be at the place where we rented the equipment.
Honoka: I’ll be fine! I’ll get this fire going with my own two hands!
Maika: Geez, no need to get all stubborn about it… Anything you feel like you could do, Shiho?
Shiho: I assume besides drawing pictures?
Maika: Yes, preferably something related to the barbecue…
Shiho: I’ll try and think of something. Ask me again in an hour.
Maika: Uh, it’s fine, I’ll just get you to wash the vegetables for now. Let me know when you’re done and I’ll think of something else.
Shiho: Yepperoni~
Tumblr media
Honoka: The river back there looked really clean. You could use that?
Maika: Please just use tap water.
Honoka: Come on, shouldn’t we try and do things naturally if we can? It’ll reinforce the barbecue atmosphere.
Maika: But we don’t know what’s in the river, especially with people playing in the water there. Just use tap water, it’s safer.
Shiho: What will you do, Maika?
Maika: I’ll go around checking on all of you and giving directions.
Honoka: Our own commander-in-chief!
Maika: Everyone’s got something to do? Okay, break!
---
Tumblr media
Maika: While we wait for Shiho to finish with the vegetables, you and I can get started with the sausages.
Haruna: How big should I cut them?
Maika: We’re grilling them, so you can honestly make them pretty chunky. Nothing beats biting into a big juicy piece of sausage, yeah?
Haruna: In that case, we could probably leave them as-is, no?
Maika: Sure! I guess just score them a little with the knife to make sure they cook through.
Tumblr media
Shiho: Veggies are washed~
Haruna: Whoa, already?
Shiho: It’s not like we pulled them straight out of the field. We bought them from the supermarket, they were pretty clean to begin with.
Maika: Good work. Next, could you go see how Honoka’s doing?
Shiho: Yepperoni~
Haruna: Is that her new favourite phrase or something…?
Maika: Alright, let’s cut the onions next.
Haruna: Onions, huh…the tears always get to me, so this might not turn out well.
Maika: Not to worry. You know there’s ways to cut them without having to deal with the tears?
Haruna: Oh, like wearing swimming goggles and stuff?
Maika: Don’t even need to make it all complicated! All you need is this one simple trick.
Maika: All you gotta do…is cut them all in one go, before the tears can come!
Haruna: I…see…
Maika: Alright, ready? And…go!
---
Tumblr media
Honoka: Ugh, no good…I’m not getting anywhere with this fire…
Shiho: How’s it going, Honoka?
Honoka: Oh, uh…well, you know! It’s going, it’s going.
Shiho: Are you okay? You’re sweating pretty hard.
Honoka: Well… I’m trying to get this fire started with just matchsticks and a fan, so it takes a lot of elbow grease…
Shiho: Why not use a block of firelighter or borrow a torch? That sign over there says they have some.
Honoka: I really want to try not to rely on stuff like that. …It would feel like giving in, you know?
Shiho: So you’ve chosen stubbornness.
Honoka: Between a flame lit naturally with the good old match, and one lit with stuff like firelighters and torches…
Honoka: Which one do you think will cook tastier meat?
Shiho: Either would be fine, surely.
Honoka: No way! The fire you lit through grit and hard work is obviously better! It’s all about the emotion, you know.
Shiho: I don’t get it…
Tumblr media
Honoka: Feel free to leave if you don’t! I’ll do this myself.
Shiho: Yepperoni~ I’ll go for a walk, then.
Shiho leaves.
Tumblr media
Honoka: …All that said, all the other groups I can see from here got their fires going so easily.
Honoka: Like that family in the spot next to us. The dad didn’t even break a sweat, and now they’re having so much fun…
Honoka: …No, keep it together! I won’t lose! I’ll get this fire going with blood, sweat, and matches and fans…!
---
Tumblr media
Maika: …Alright, that should be pretty much it for food prep.
Haruna: What about the meat?
Maika: We’ll grill it whole! And then we’ll slice it up nice and thin after.
Haruna: Sounds good! Gosh, that sounds downright fancy!
Maika: Can you handle cleaning this up on your own? I’m gonna go check on how Honoka and Shiho are doing.
Haruna: Yepperoni~
Maika: Damn, now she’s got you doing it too…
---
Tumblr media
Honoka: Oh, hey Maika. I got the fire going, no problem.
Maika: Way to go! That must’ve been tough.
Honoka: Not at all. Piece of cake!
Maika: Oh, you ended up using a firelighter.
Honoka: Yeah…that family next to us gave me some of theirs. I guess…taking the easier route is okay too, sometimes.

𝙷𝚘𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙷𝚘𝚕𝚢 (𝙿𝚝 𝟷)
Dean is lying on the motel bed, which is vibrating, as he listens to music on his phone. He looks sort of blissful. Y/N is sat on the other bed, laying on her stomach, asleep. As Sam enters, Dean doesn't notice him.
"Hey," Sam smacks Dean on the boot. "Hey!" Y/N jolts awake.
"Hey. Man, you gotta try this. I mean, there really is magic in the Magic Fingers."
"Dean, you're enjoying that way too much. It's kind of making me uncomfortable."
"What is he supposed to do? I mean, you've got us on lockdown here, we're bored out of our skulls," Y/N says.
"Hey, you two were the bank robbers on the eleven o'clock news, not me. We can't risk you two just walking into a government facility."
"Hmm," Sam waves a dismissing hand at Dean as he turns to go into the bathroom. The bed shuts to stillness. "Aw, dammit! That was my last quarter. Hey! You got any quarters?" Dean pulls out his headphones and gets up, slapping Y/N on the head playfully, crossing the room and leaning on the doorway to the bathroom where Sam is washing his face.
"No!" Dean goes to turn to Y/N, but as he turns, he sees her glaring at him.
"Don't even ask," she says.
"So, did you get in to see that crazy hooker?" Dean asks.
"Yeah. Gloria Sitnick. And I'm not so sure she's crazy."
"But she seriously believes that she was...touched by an angel?"
"Yeah. Blinding light, feeling of spiritual ecstasy," Y/N looks at Sam sharply, her eyes slightly widened, "the works. I mean, she's living in a locked ward and she's totally at peace."
"Oh yeah, you're right, sounds completely sane. What about the dude she stabbed?"
"Uh, Carl Gully. She said she killed him because he was evil."
"Was he?" Y/N asks.
"I don't know. I mean, I couldn't find any dirt on him. I mean, he didn't have a criminal record, he worked at the campus library, has lots of friends. He was a churchgoer."
"Hm. So, then Gloria's just your standard-issue wacko. I mean, she wouldn't be the first nutjob in history to kill in the name of religion. Know what I mean?"
"No, but she's the second in town to murder because an angel told them to. Little bit odd, don't ya think?"
"Well, a little odd yes, supernatural maybe. But angels? I don't think so."
"Why not?"
"'Cause there's no such thing, Sam," Dean says.
"How do you know?" Y/N asks.
"Dean, there's ten times as much lore about angels as there is about anything else we've ever hunted."
"Yeah, you know what? There's a ton of lore on unicorns too. In fact, I hear that they, they ride on silver moonbeams, and they shoot rainbows out of their ass," Sam sits down, total deadpan.
"Wait, there's no such thing as unicorns?"
"That's cute. I'm just saying, man, there's just some legends that you just, you file under 'bullcrap'."
"And you've got angels on the bullcrap list," Y/N says.
"Yep."
"Why?" Dean looks up.
"Because I've never seen one."
"So what?"
"So, I believe in what I can see."
"Dean! You, Y/N and I have seen things that most people couldn't even dream about."
"Exactly. With our own eyes. That's hard proof, okay? But in all this time I have never seen anything that looks like an angel. And don't you think that if they existed that we would have crossed paths with them? Or at least know someone that crossed paths with them? No. This is a, a demon or a spirit. You know, they find people a few fries short of a happy meal, and they trick them into killing these randoms."
"Maybe," Dean rolls his eyes.
"Can we just- I'm going stir-crazy, man. Hey, let's go by Gloria's apartment, huh?"
"I was just there. Nothing. No sulphur, no EMF..."
"You didn't see any fluffy white wing feathers?" Sam sighs and looks to Y/N, who is sat opposite him, shaking her head.
"But Gloria did say the angel gave her a sign, right beside Carl Gully's doorway."
"Could be something at his house; it's worth checking out," Dean says eagerly.
"I wouldn't mind getting out of this room," Y/N says.
==
Y/N is driving as they pull up in front of Carl Gully's house. It is a moderate single-family home with steps leading up to the front door; to the left of the door is a plastic angel figure. Y/N mounts the steps and sees it.
"Oh hey, Sam. I think I found it," Dean gestures to the angel. "It's a sign from up above." He peers in the window.
"We're laughing on the inside," Y/N says. The two wander around back, through a gate, and Dean follows; they find a wooden storm cellar.
"You know, Gloria said the guy was guilty to his deepest foundations," Sam says.
"You think she literally meant the foundation?" Y/N asks. Sam, Dean, and Y/N open the creaking door and go down the steps, shining flashlights.
"Hm," Y/N notices scratches on a wall near the floor; she leans over to get a closer look.
"Hey."
"You got something?" Dean asks. Y/N digs at the wall and pulls something out.
"What is it?" Sam asks.
"It's a fingernail," the three share a look. Dean pulls out three shovels from the wall, and they begin to dig. Later, a deep pit has been completed to reveal a pile of skeletons.
"So much for the innocent churchgoing librarian."
"It's always the quiet ones," Y/N says.
"Yeah, well, whatever spoke to Gloria about this knew what it was talking about, I'll give you that."
==
Dean and Y/N are sat on the edge of the bed with a police radio in hand, listening. They look painfully bored.
"We've got a minor TA, involving a motorcycle and a, uh, van, this is at the corner of 28th and Pine, 28th and Pine." As Sam enters, Dean sighs and looks back sadly at the 'Magic Fingers' controller.
"D'you bring quarters?" Dean asks eagerly, almost desperately, looking back at the Magic Finger controller. Sam frowns at the controller.
"Dude! I'm not enabling your sick habit," Sam says, tossing a sandwich at Dean. He hands Y/N hers.
"You're like one of those lab rats that pushes the pleasure button instead of the food button until it dies," Y/N says, as she takes a bite out of her sandwich.
"What are you talking about? I eat," Dean looks to Sam. "And we got news."
"Me too."
"All right, you go first," Y/N says.
"Three students have disappeared off the college campus in the last year. All of them were last seen at the library."
"Where Carl Gully worked."
"Yep."
"Sick bastard," Y/N says.
"So, Gloria's angel-"
"Angel?" Dean interrupts.
"Okay. Whatever this thing is..."
"Okay, well, whatever it is, it's struck again," Y/N says.
"What?"
"We were listening to the police radio before you got here. There was this guy, uh, Zach Smith, some local drunk; he went up to a stranger's front door last night, stabbed him in the heart."
"And then I'm guessing he went to the police and confessed?"
"Yep. Roma Downey made him do it." Dean crosses the room to take a post-it note off the mirror. "Now, I, uh...got the victim's address."
==
Sam, Dean, and Y/N clumbover the fence into the yard and sneak in through the window. Sam sits down at the computer as Dean and Y/N search the house.
"Find anything?" Sam asks, as Dean and Y/N walk into the room.
"Well, Frank liked his catalogue shopping, but that's about all I got," Y/N says.
"Not much here. Except he's got this one locked file on his computer, I can't...hold on." Sam presses a few buttons, then grins in triumph. "Not anymore. God."
"What?"
"Well, he's got all these emails. Dozen, to this lady named Jennifer." There is a short pause. "This lady who's thirteen years old."
"Oh, god," Y/N says, her face full of disgust.
"Oh, I don't want to hear this," Dean says.
"Looks like they met in a chat room. These emails are pretty personal, Guys. Look at that. Setting up a time and place to meet."
"Great."
"They were supposed to meet today."
"Huh. Well, I guess if you're gonna stab someone, good timing. I don't know, man, this is weird, you know? I mean, sure, some spirits are out for vengeance, but this one's almost like a do-gooder, you know? Like, like a--"
"Avenging angel," Dean turns away. "Well, how else do you explain it, Guys? Three guys, not connected to each other, all stabbed through the heart? At least two were world-class pervs, and I bet if you dug deep enough on the other guy--"
"Hey," Y/N picks something up.
"What?" Sam and Dean ask.
"You said Carl Guller was a churchgoer, right?"
"Yeah?"
"What was the name of his church?"
"Uh...Our Lady of the Angels?" Sam says.
"Of course, that'd be the name," Dean mutters. Y/N holds up a church flier.
"Looks like Frank went to the same church."
==
Dean, Y/N, and Sam walk through the sanctuary of the church, speaking to a friendly-looking priest.
"So, you're interested in joining the parish?" Father asks.
"Yeah, well, you know, we just don't feel right unless we hit church every Sunday."
"Where'd you say you lived before?"
"Uh..."
"Fremont, Texas," Y/N says.
"Yeah."
"Really? That's a nice town. St. Teresa's parish, you must know the priest there."
"Sure, yeah, no it's uh, Father O'Malley."
"Hmm, I know a Father Shaughnessy."
"Shaughnessy, exactly. What'd I say?"
"You know, we're just happy to be here now, Father," Sam says.
"And we're happy to have you, we could use some young blood around here."
"Hey listen, I gotta ask- no offense, but uh, the neighborhood?" Y/N asks.
"Well, it's gone to seed a little, there's no denying that, but that's why what the church does here is so important. Like I always say, you can expect a miracle, but in the meantime, you work your butt off."
"Huh. Yeah, we heard about the murders."
"Yes. The victims were parishioners of mine, I'd known them for years."
"And the killers said that an angel made them do that?" Sam asks.
"Yes. Misguided souls, to think that God's messenger would appear and incite people to murder. It's tragic."
"So, you don't believe in those angel yarns, huh?" Y/N says.
"Oh, no, I absolutely believe. Kind of goes with the job description." Sam nods to a painting on the wall.
"Father, that's Michael, right?"
"That's right. The archangel Michael, with the flaming sword. The fighter of demons. Holy force against evil."
"So, they're not really the Hallmark card version that everybody thinks? They're fierce, right? Vigilant?" Y/N says.
"Well, I like to think of them as more loving than wrathful. But, uh, yes, a lot of Scripture paints angels as God's warriors. 'An angel of the Lord appeared to them, the glory of the Lord shone down upon them, and they were terrified.' Luke. Two nine." Dean nods sagely.
"Well, thanks for speaking with us, Father."
"Oh, it's my pleasure. Hope to see you again."
"Hey, Father, what's, what is all that for?" Dean asks, seeing a collection of tribute items at the bottom of the steps.
"Oh, that's for Father Gregory. He was a priest here."
"Was?" Y/N asks.
"He passed away right on these steps. He's interred in the church crypt."
"When did this happen?"
"Two months ago. He was shot for his car keys."
"I'm sorry."
"Yeah, me too. He was a good friend. I didn't even have time to administer his last rites. But like I said, it's a tough neighborhood. Ever since he died, I've been praying my heart out."
"For what?" Sam asks.
"For deliverance. From the violence and the bloodshed around here. We could use a little divine intervention, I suppose."
"Well, Padre, thanks. We'll see you again," Y/N says. Father goes back inside; Dean, Sam, and Y/N investigate the shrine.
"Well, it's all starting to make sense. Devoted priest dies a violent death? That's vengeful spirit material right there," Sam shifts uncomfortably. "And he knew all the other stiffs, because they went to church here, in fact, I'm willing to bet that because he was their priest, he knew things about them that nobody else knew," Y/N says.
"Then again, Father Reynolds started praying for God's help about two months ago, right? Right about the time all this started happening?"
"Aw, come on, man, what's your deal?" Dean asks.
"What do you mean?"
"Look, I'll admit I'm a bit of a skeptic, but since when are you all Mr., uh, 700 Club? No, seriously. From the git-go you've been willing to buy this angel crap, man. I mean, what's next, are you going to start praying every day?"
"He does," Y/N says.
"What?" Dean asks.
"I do pray every day. I have for a long time," Dean looks startled.
"I often keep you busy when he does," Y/N says.
"The things you learn about a guy. Huh. Well, come on, let's go check out Father Gregory's grave." The crypt is a maze of stone hallways, with numerous stone angel figurines. They wander through slowly, Dean and Y/N a little ahead of Sam. As the twins go into another room, Sam stops, looking back at one of the angels. He frowns at it, and the entire room begins to shake. A brilliant light appears behind him and he turns, confused washing away to a look of awe. Dean and Y/N hurried back into the room.
"Sam, come on, get the lead out," they see Sam passed out on the floor, and rush over.
"Sammy? Sammy! Hey!" Y/N and Dean say. Sam jerks awake, groaning.
"Y'okay?" Dean asks.
"Yeah. Yeah. 'M okay," Sam says, staring at the stone angel, stunned.
"Come on" Dean hauls Sam to his feet and the twins guid him into the sanctuary, a hand on his arm, and shuts the door behind them.
"You saw it, didn't you? Didn't you"
"Yeah. Yeah. Dean, I saw an angel"
"You..." Sam sits as Y/N pulls out a flask, unscrews it and hands it to him.
"All right. Here" Y/N says.
"I don't want a drink" Y/N shrugs, takes a swig.
"So, what makes you think you saw a, uh, angel?" Dean asks.
"It just, it appeared before me and I just, this feeling washed over me, you know? Like, like- peace"
"Like grace," Y/N adds. Sam looks to her confused but nods. He goes to ask her something but is cut off by Dean.
"Okay, Ecstasy Boy, maybe we'll get you some glow sticks and a nice Dr. Seuss hat, huh?"
"Dean, I'm serious. It spoke to me; it knew who I was."
"It's just a spirit, Sam, Okay? And it's not the first one to be able to read people's minds." Dean sits down on another pew. "Okay, let me guess. You were personally chosen to smite some sinner. You've just got to wait for some divine bat signal, is that it?"
"Yeah, actually."
"Great. I don't suppose you asked what this alleged bad guy did?" Y/N says.
"Actually, I did, Y/N. And the angel told me. He hasn't done anything. Yet. But he will." Dean stands and starts pacing.
"Oh, this is, this is...I don't believe this."
"Dean, the angel hasn't been wrong yet! Someone's going to do something awful, and I can stop it!"
"You know, you're supposed to be bad too, maybe, maybe I should just stop you right now." Y/N stands up and grips Dean's collar, staring him straight in the eye.
"You are so lucky that we are in a church because if we weren't you would be on the ground with a bloody nose!" She lets go of Dean's collar and turns to Sam.
"You know what, Dean? I don't understand! Why can't you even consider the possibility?"
"What, and this is an angel?"
"Yes! Maybe we're hunting an angel here, and we should stop! Maybe this is God's will!"
"Okay, alright. You know what? I get it. You've got faith. That's--hey, good for you. I'm sure it makes thing easier" Dean sits again "I'll tell you who else had faith like that--Mom. She used to tell me and Theo when she tucked me in that angels were watching over us. In fact, that was the last thing she ever said to me" Theo smiles sadly.
"I remember that" she says.
"You never told me that"
"Well, what's to tell? She was wrong. There was nothing protecting her. There's no higher power, there's no God. I mean, there's just chaos, and violence, and random unpredictable evil that comes out of nowhere, and rips you to shreds. You want me to believe in this stuff? I'm going to need to see some hard proof. You got any?" There is a small pause "Well, I do. Proof that we're dealing with a spirit"

Rip the lesser demons for always having the balls to cause mischief but always end up getting hurt, when will they learn - what happens at the end is up to you
The lesser demon snickered towards his friend, shushing their friend as they slipped the pink letter into the higher demons locker. Another demon was with them, more timid than the other two.
"what if we get in trouble?! They'll find out it wasn't actually the human and we'll end up dog food-!"
"we planned this whole thing, it'll be fun - we just gotta stay at a distance!"
It was long before footsteps grew closer, the timid demon squeaking in fear. The other lesser demons took it as a sign to start running, grabbing each other and bolted away from the scene of the crime.
The owner of the locker arrived, just noticing the lesser demons run off in the distance. He opened his locker and almost stumbled back when a letter fluttered out. The demon grew curious he noticed there was a heart seal on the back. He opened it to read it to himself.
To my dearest friend,
I think it's about time I come clean about my feelings, I've been holding these in for a very long time and I refuse to keep them a secret anymore!
I'm in love with you! I can't explain it but you've won my heart, everytime you smile at me I just can't help but feel my heart skip. Is it wrong to feel this way? I'm only a human and you are a demon...we're so different and I don't know how long we'll be able to have this time we have together. All I know is that I want to be with you for as long as I can!
Will you accept my feelings? I'm not sure if I can face just yet so meet me at the end of day! I'll be waiting for you at the back of the school - I really hope you come. Even if it's decline my feelings....I just want to be able to face you and how you make me feel.
Love, (Y/N)
Lucifer:
Oh his ego is SO stroked
He could just imagine the human blushing as they wrote and nervously putting it in his locker
He did see you later that day and decided to tease you a little but while you were flustered, you also seemed confused
That was his first suspicion
When the time finally came he was patient but you weren't early
His second suspicious
You both knew each other very well, he liked things being in a timely Matter and you tried your best to not be late
He stiffened when he heard a snicker from a few trees away, he looked over there to see three demons all hiding
"I know you're hiding, it's best you come out now."
One by one they all showed themselves, growing nervous
"Come here, don't be shy, I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason for this, after all you seemed to be desperate to have me out here."
"you- you knew it wasn't the human?!"
his pride wouldn't let him tell the truth, he refused to show his disappointment
"of course, you clearly don't understand the human as much as you think you do - now, who's the leader? I think we should have a nice talk."
Mammon:
YOU GAVE HIM A LOVE LETTER??!!!
He's internally screaming, his face was bright red
Watch this boy struggle against his locker as he tries to hide his excitement
Though, when his high died down he did find it strange you were being shy
You could have your shy moments but to confess through a letter was odd
He wasn't the brightest guy around but he can sense when he's getting scammed - even if he ignores that instinct when it comes to money
He's always around you so it wasn't strange for him to see you after class and he was surprised how... relaxed you were
Something was up but in the end, he went to the back of the school
When he texted you, asking you where you were and you said going home - that was the final straw
HE WAS TRICKED!
"Oi! Are you out there?! I know you tricked me!"
The lesser demons started to panic, not thinking mammon would catch on
But when mammon started marching around looking for them they decided it was best to reveal themselves
"There ya are, now let's get to talking - what made you three wanna do something like this? You think it's funny to pretend to be the human?"
The leader snickered, agreeing that it was funny to pretend but their friends understood right now - their doom was coming
Mammon cracked his knuckles, stalking closest to them
"I like a good joke, let me show you my favourite one."
Levithan:
Love Letter in his locker??? Heart seal!!!??HE WAS THE LOVE INTEREST??!!
He's torn between dying inside and excitement, he's absolutely losing it
He had to fan himself with the letter due to how hot his face was getting
He wasn't sure how he was going to face you! Let alone you having to face him
But- there was no way you were interested in him! You wouldn't do this
He didn't believe it, it HAD to be a prank
When levi saw you for the rest of the day it only strengthen his suspicions
He did go to the back of the school and when he saw you were no where to he seen
He was absolutely embarassed and ashamed by even hoping it was real
"YOU CAN COME OUT NOW! just- just stop hiding, it isn't funny."
the demons came out, disappointed with the lack of dramatics
"so you three did it, you really think it's funny to do something like this?! To mess with someone's feelings and pretend to be the human is just - IT'S PATHETIC-!"
The demons started to feel uncomfortable, the higher demon had tears in his eyes and obviously worked up
Even the one who wanted to see this kind of reaction was uncomfortable
His demon form started to shift outwards and raised his hand, the ground beneath them rumbling
"it seems you just think I'm some sort of pushover! But I'm not!"
Satan:
Hm, how interesting
It isn't too odd that you're using a letter to confess, you know he appreciate writing
But you were more verbal or atleast text - this was new
But to say he wasn't absolutely ecstatic was an understatement, he was beyond the moon
When he saw you later he tried to not bring up the letter as his brothers were around
Though, he was thrown off when you got confused when he teased about seeing you after school
He decided he'll investigate things, going up to demons who have lockers near his and ask if he saw the human put anything in it
After awhile of searching he finally found out it was three demons who did it - he didn't want to spoil their fun and so he still went
He leaned against the nearest tree, waiting for the demons to arrive
"Ah you're here, I'm so glad you finally came."
the demons were surprised when he moved towards them, they left their hiding spot with nervous smiles
"You write well, you got their energy almost perfectly into the letter - I'm impressed."
They didn't expect that....not one bit
"you're not....mad???"
Satan chuckled, flexing his clenched fists
His smile grew more strained and dangerous as he leaned over them
"oh no, no I'm not mad - im LIVID."
Asmodeus:
He was surprised to get a love letter, he gets piles worth everyday
He didn't expect it to be from YOU though
You were so open with him and you two were already overly affectionate to each other he was sure you were already low-key dating
So to get confirmation his feelings were returned - he was overjoyed!
As soon as he saw you he's hugging you, telling you how he loved your letter and that he'll still meet you after school if you need to
You were utterly confused and unsure what he was talking about
When you told him you didn't give him that letter he felt his heart break
You didn't love him?? That wasn't your letter??
To think someone would play a prank on him like that! It was rude!
When it was time, he went to the back of the school and pretended as if he didn't sense the other demons
That was until he grew impatient
"are you shy, dear? It's okay - I know it wasn't the human~"
The lesser demons came out, confused
One of them blushed just being near him
"I'm sorry for my friend! They wanted to play the prank but- but I love you asmo!"
He gave them a pity smile
"aww~ of course you love me! But you really hurt my feelings making me believe the human did, I almost cried!"
The demons immediately all felt bad
The idea of their gorgeous asmo crying made them guilty
"I know exactly what will make me feel better, making sure you three can never write again~! Can't have you keep tricking me, can I?"
Beezlebub:
A Love letter from you?! He's a happy boy
But now that he actually thinks about it - it's odd you're not being upfront
You two usually sit alone together when you wanna get something off your chest, holding hands and you don't even have to face each other
Why the sudden change? Perhaps you just wanted to be like one of Levi's anime characters
Regardless, he was happy and wanted you to be happy
Hes was going to make you happy!
Beel was quick to find you and act like he didn't find your letter, you said you'll face him after school and he respected that
Whilst you couldn't exactly avoid each other before then, he did try to give you space
As soon as school ended he Went to the back, waiting for you to arrive
Each second went by and he grew more hungry
He smelt something close by and found three demons hiding, it was odd but he didn't want to be hungry whilst you confessed - he wanted to give you his full focus
"ah-! How did you know we were here?!"
"I smelt the sandwich in your bag, I want it."
It didn't take much convincing to hand it over
He's a scary demon afterall
"it's best you leave, my friend is coming."
One of the demons started laughing, questioning if he actually believed it was you who gave him the letter
Beel got confused before it all clicked together, he frowned, glaring at the demons
He wasn't happy
"I'm still hungry, three demons will do just fine."
Belphegor:
Happy cow man, demon tail go SWISH
On the inside hes like an excited dog, outside he's just standing there
Meanwhile he wants to be like his twin, respectful that you want to do later
He isn't that patient and wants to make it official with you NOW
so as soon as he sees you, he's draping himself on you and telling you how impatient he is
You're confused on why and he shows you the love letter
You tell him that it isn't from you and that's not even your hand writing - it's a good mimic but not yours
He is SHOCKED then he's mad
He still goes to the back of the school but it's to fight whoever pranked him
He wasn't going to wait around
"Get out now or I'll search this entire space for you - it won't be pretty if I find out."
It didn't take the demons twice to show themselves
Belphegor was feared amongst others due to his brutality when push comes to shove
Just because he's always sleeping doesn't mean he isn't scary
"Good~ so which one of you wrote the letter? If you wanted to confess you should of just done it."
The demons looked at each other, unsure on what to do
But after a few moments the youngest brother got impatient, moving towards them with a clenched hand
The leader of the lesser demons finally admitted to doing the prank
"see? It wasn't so hard, let's have a long chat about this~"

I had really hoped that I had gotten into the dragon age fandom AFTER the shipping wars had ended.
This is exhausting to see. Comparing Anders and Fenris as a romance is a TRAP. Even if you've got good analysis or you think you have something to say, it's all been said before and at this point it's been said with a decades worth of bad faith BS.
Ultimately the romance you prefer is a matter of personal taste and not a matter of social justice or healthy relationships. Can we please stop letting Bioware's crap rivalry system trick us into thinking the only two opinions about DA2 are "Anders bad" or "Fenris bad" eleven years after the fact? So many of you have only ever played this game in a manner that gave you the best aspects of Fenris and the worst aspects of Anders or vice-versa. And you base your whole understanding on a version of events where you treat one character badly and then expect them to have a good relationship with your Hawke.
If Bioware had intended to make the Anders romance manipulative and unhealthy, then they probably should've written the friendmance way differently (I don't rivalmance, so Idk what that looks like). As it stands, he's a guy under a lot of pressure who is in a relationship that he's not sure is going to end well because his activism and identity puts him in serious danger. As a result, he's hot and cold. And like... Do I personally want to romance him? No. I don't like the "doomed romance" trope very much. But I acknowledge that's personal taste and not a sign that Anders is some kind of unhinged nightmare boyfriend.
And don't even get me started on the Fenris stuff. He's prone to frustrated outbursts. He has several lines about the other companions that are both unacceptable and also completely in-character. But show me one example of him "gaslighting" in his romance and I'll eat my DA2 disc. And do I want to date this guy? Not particularly! I see aspects of him that I find really compelling to think and write about. Thats it. It's fiction.
I'm begging you to stop treating ships like they're a barometer of your moral character. Or like a relationship in media has to be toxic or problematic for you to dislike it. More than that, just tag your hate if you gotta get it out there. Nine times out of ten you're not saying anything new and just picking at old fandom wounds.
