I'm sure this has been mentioned -- this clip made me think about how Heimerdinger's long life experience is contrasted against Viktor's shortened life expectancy. This conversation/framing must have made Viktor feel undervalued. I don't know if the professor's species difference means he can't identify the clear deterioration his health has undergone, or if he's just too jaded by the shorter lifespans of humans, or what, but saying a decade will pass "in the blink of an eye" is brutal to say to someone in Viktor's position.

On top of that, on this rewatch and knowing what happens later, what is at stake, the microexpressions between Viktor and Jayce masterfully reference entire conversations that have happened off screen in the time skip. The animation style is able to capture that so well. Jayce's silent concern for Viktor, bracketed with getting swept away in the council and performance of it all, can be so easy to miss.

Comparing Heimerdinger's engagement with Viktor when he's known him longer with presumably significant positive regard... To Jayce's... It's just interesting to me.

I remember a post a while ago about how we don't see Stolas doing his duties very often. (I can't remember who posted that; if it was you and you'd like me to tag you, then please tell me!)

Like, we saw him do the Curse at the Harvest Moon Festival. And we get a glimpse of his gorgeous study in Look My Way. There was even a brief moment when Stolas checked the Grimoire in The Circus.

But we don't see him go to Earth. We don't see him reading the prophecies told by the stars. And we can't really grasp the magnitude of his responsibilities as Prince because the show hasn't yet told us what all his title entails.

I'm betting there's a very good reason why we haven't seen that.

And I hope this messy dramatic bird is in for a rude awakening when he realizes that he really does get to have everything that he took from Stolas. (At least until Octavia comes of age, depending on how they'll write that.)

I highkey miss the art style from the middle of the season. The bell lesson arc was hands-down, the most visually appealing part of the entire series to me. Particularly Lenore's design. Thick thighs save lives and all that, but I long for the days when she was but a skinny Victorian boy. Like, look at her

dazai finding someone as amazing as an ability user (if not more) who can keep up with him and being reassured that he isnt actually taking away their ability, a part of them and their humanity, whenever he touches them(bc we all know dazai is the touchy one) and dazai genuinely thinks ranpo is so amazing anyway and he trusts him so much.

ranpo finding someone who has also felt so out of touch with the rest of humanity, who couldn't understand why people are the way they are and why he feels so different and lost. someone who can keep up with him mentally and never doubts or berates him, someone who defends him from those who do.

I think I’ve talked so much abt vanitas I spat out like 29489385 words about what I think might happen and what I hope does RIGHT HERE right here I found it but TEE EL DEE AR worst case scenario: vanitas becomes mephiles (I don’t know sonic lore) and goes full evil cackling I’ve been darkness the whoooole tiiime (scarily likely but I want to BELIEVE the themes of kh remain intact about personhood). BEST case scenario to ME he and Ven have to work together to defeat Darkness because vanitas goes thru another self-identity crisis while trapped in (……….???) Sora’s? Ven’s heart? Somewhere? His heart grew too much to be dissolved back into nothing again. And he gets a wallet chain and a spiked collar. My TEMPERED expectations are something like,,, either he’s gone. we’re done with him, he’s dead. OR. He like… shows up as a villain and then either we have to beat him again or he defects at the last minute. There’s so much that has to do with having a will and making choices and friendship and and and AND on to ad infinitum in this video game. I want him here but if he’s gonna have a bad arc I want him gone. However I want him here so bad. And knowing kh none of this will happen he’s gonna like, go on a space adventure with yozora and pleakley or something

AND ALSO because you asked for Thoughts and then asked for the second thing here’s my first thought about vanitas make him meaner when you analyze him and in that vein if you want to give ME a little treat you’ll make badlands ven a little nervous prick too. People are too nice about vanitas because he’s the outcast emo kid and you all were outcast emo kids but vanitas in the actual game (not like. When you take a blorbo out of the game im of the opinion that you can do whatever you want with him and I do whatever I want all the time. Do you know how many soft sappy vani fics are in my ao3. do you know how many. I cherish each and every ONE of them) BUT IN THE GAME he hates. So so so strongly. I’ve also said this before but he’s so angry that the anger spills over. He’s vindictive and rash and desperate and a big meanie bully. AFFECTIONATE!!!!! every time there's a (chain) restaurant that stops using finnish meat i die inside a bit. like. first of all your image will suffer. it's more ecological to get things made near you. you should realize that even if you don't care about anything. and yeah i barely eat meat but i do care about animal wellbeing so i'm capable of understanding that since people at large will keep eating meat, it's good to support the industry in a country where it's actually mandatory to treat your animals somewhat well and raise them in clean environments and where antibiotics are only used if an animal is sick. and not as a preventive measure so you can raise them in dirty environments. does antimicrobial resistance say nothing to you. also this is exactly why, if i had a pet, i'd be unwilling to buy them food that has meat from a country where i don't know about how the butchery works. bc it supports everyone from the animals to the consumers and their pets and whatever to have meat that's raised with prevention of diseases with the help of systematic health care work and hygiene and literally just not dumping antibiotics into poor animals in poor conditions. thats how you get e coli. my god. all that so you can get slightly cheaper ingredients. insane.

ummm ok sure. tbh the big nebulous reason is that it's not always easy to be a person of color in this space. i don't take a lot of what people say online seriously and I never have (which is probably why ive been on this blog so long), like im secure enough in my offline life to tbh not worry about it and my experience of these books is solely personal. which i recommend to everyone. but sure the last few years have been a little grating like i think there's a reason most of the mutuals of color i had in 2020 (and before) have um moved tf on as they say. im not going to expand on this LOL if you were here you know what i mean

the slightly chiller reason is just very simply that none of the releases since ROW have captured my interest as much? the ssps were cute but whatever. im personally not an era 2 person but i love a lore dump so lost metal was fun for that reason. when the next stormlight preview season starts I plan to be fully back on my bullshit I will be posting I will be keeping up with things I will be theorizing but I'm not here to do that 24/7 in the off season anymore
