overall pretty happy with the whole thing! surprisingly not upset at the ending? sure i didn't understand some stuff, i didn't like some stuff, but it was much much better than expected!! plus, i have my priorities, and my girls were always great <33

I can't believe the show has decided to reframe this as the grandmother just knowing that one of her grandchildren was strong enough to not need comfort and that it's GOOD that she could trust her five year old granddaughter to take care of herself.

But also framing their relationship as jealousy... of the one who was constantly pushed away and hated herself and thought her family hated her but apparently they just thought she was too popular and too strong to need anything!?!? WHY IS THIS SHOW LIKE THIS?!

Ai spent her entire life feeling like she could never been enough and wasn't loved because they... thought she was strong and popular!? WHAT. WHAT. This makes no actual sense with the rest of the show except that the rest of the show was specifically set up to be a deceit which is just... a thing.

We met and Ai who thought her life was worth so much less than her sister's that she didn't think anyone would care if she was in the hospital instead of her sister and now we're supposedly being told that everyone loved her sooooo much instead.

I just... really? Really? This is what the show is gonna do now? Why? Why is this a thing?! Everyone just decided Ai was strong enough to be completely left alone and shown no affection and apparently thought she'd just feel loved magically through osmosis?

You could try, I don't know, having been nicer to her? Maybe? At any point in your relationship and especially once you were adults? The only reason Ai ever wasn't the sister who loved you was because you and grandma basically treated her like she was, apparently, too strong to need any kind of emotional care or love.

Ah, yes, that's how people feel about children in their care that. Sigh. Ai spent a lifetime being neglected and feeling constantly disliked and Oab hated herself so much for... not being as good as her, I guess?! that she literally sacrificed an entire relationship just for that jealousy.

Because, seriously, if Oom had just stayed in the relationship with May they both could have easily been happy. May having a one time crush n Ai when they were teenagers and then meeting Oom and falling in love with her didn't need to be a death sentence for their relationship, it could so easily have been just a story that they laughed about years down the line instead of this nightmare.

WHATEVER, man.

so i started this show and it just gets worse and worseeeee not only did it lift the romance subplot directly from twilight (and not well) but they also are trying to play the forbidden love angle hard in the fantasy racism vein except it's a "cross-species" relationship between the two whitest people i've ever seen in my life and there are three people of color in the whole (first season of the) show who aren't villains and it seems that every other episode (and sometimes ebery episode and sometimes twice an episode!) there is a man physically or magically subjugating a woman and i keep waiting for the big reveal at the end to be stolen from fucking rainbow rowell

The 3rd DRB being a movie and by consequence screwing over the international fanbase is super disappointing. I feel like everything rides on BAT's drama track now. If Kuko doesn't get any kind of lore or development I might honestly be done with HypMic. I'll still like Kuko and BAT and stream the music but I won't buy anymore merch, I won't renew my hypster membership, and I'll just be apathetic about further development. Like my expectations are so low I'm already dreading another drama track coming and going with no plot progressions. I have so little faith in KR now, its so depressing.

but it’s been a very long time hasn’t it lol?? bat’s 5th year anniversary is coming up and we’ve watched them basically have the same beat as dh; a very close knit story that deals with their bonds outside of plot, except since dh has rei, it felt like it was just a matter of time before dh were integrated into the plot and tragically bat doesn’t have that cushion lol

but i’ve seen jp dh fans gripe about the exact same things we are, desperately hoping the trio wasn’t about to be another track where they’re just drinking the night away and lo and behold, not only are rosasa aware of all that rei and chuuoku have done, the track went out of its way to show them not drinking their lack of development/integration away lmao

so i do believe that kr knows nagosaka fans are tired and i think they’ll give bat fans what they want too finally 😭😭😭 esp since they blatantly gave us a bat chuuoku parallel with the drama track titles (so there is a chance we will have to have chuuoku’s track for further context, as annoying it would be that bat can’t have their own thing in their own track lmao)

and yeah if the 3rd drb is deadass the movie way to shut out the intl fans lmao but i do think they have other plans in store for something else

all of them crowding on the couch to watch the L word together would be kind of iconic ngl. Clear definitely has the full series dvd box set (she collects lesbian lit and media). i do have a hard time imagining Valentina watching anything really, she's more of a book kind of gal, but she could definitely be convinced... then she'd probably get really into it, 8pm sharp once a week for the L word episode. or else.

not even trying to ego stroke here or anything but every time I see mecha discourse that boils down to “people wont give the non main streams mechas a chance 😡” I feel a lot better about myself that my approach has been “I only really want you to watch getter because it’s my favorite mecha and it’s a really cool show, but if it’s not your thing understandable ☺️” because I now understand why so many people actually bother to watch it because of me.
