I am 4k deep into this idea. I had hopes to post before 4x4 came out, but I don’t know if that’s happening. 

Have a snippet of Carlos dealing with the aftermath of being a victim.

Carlos is fine. 

It takes him no time at all to physically recover. A night in the hospital for observation, two bags of saline, and a little bacitracin for the wounds on his wrists. He hadn’t even needed staples for the wound on his head. They’d just cleaned it up and glued it, with the doctor teaching a resident how to do something called the HAT trick. 

So far his blood panel had come back clean, but he’d follow up in a week and then again at 3 months. And it wasn’t like he hadn’t taken PrEP before, so taking PEP didn’t seem like that big of a deal. He’d gotten a Hep B booster and then a shot of ceftriaxone before being given a prescription for doxycycline. 

Everyone was being so nice and gentle with him. His nurse spoke softly as she treated the wounds on his wrists before wrapping them with gauze. She talked about resources and therapy groups.

“Hey,” she says after she gently applies a piece of tape to her immaculate gauze work. “Everything we’re telling you tonight I know is a lot. In a few days, when you have questions, it’s okay to call or come down. Whatever you’re feeling, it’s okay to feel.”

She doesn’t pat his hand or shoulder in comfort. She was very careful not to touch him in fact. And when she did she broadcasted every move before she did it. He wondered how many times she’d done this. How she came to want to do a job like this in the first place. He wasn’t even a real patient, a real victim.

“I’m fine,” he says. “I probably shouldn’t even be one of your patients. I’m sure there’s other people that need you more than I do.”

She pauses in cleaning up her materials and looks at him. Her blue eyes seem to be able to see everything about him and he quickly looks back down to his hands, fidgeting with the edge of the blanket.

“What happened to you was an awful thing,” she says.

“But-”

“No,” she says, cutting him off gently, but firmly. “What happened to you was an awful thing. There’s no quantifying it or measuring up against someone else’s pain. A terrible thing happened to you. And in this room you are the only patient that matters. When things like this happen, when terrible things happen, I come in and take care of those people. There’s no one else I should be with right now. Just you.”

She stays in the room with him, charting on the computer that’s on the wall. He relaxes just the tiniest bit. He doesn’t know how long it’s been when there’s a knock on the door and TK is entering with two cups in his hands.

“I’m not interrupting am I?” he asks the nurse, looking between her and Carlos. “I brought us some tea.”

“Nope,” the nurse says, “I’m all done here. The doctor just marked you clear for discharge, so I’ll go get all of that together for you. Give me about 10 minutes and I’ll be back.”

Carlos takes a sip of the tea and lets the warmth soothe him. “Thank you,” he tells her before she leaves the room. She gives him a smile and a nod.

Everyone thinks he'd go covered head to toe wearing those wet suits divers use, but no. Noritoshi isn't the type to want to attract attention to himself when it's not needed, so he'd try to blend in. Emphasis on try.

He's the guy wearing a covering or some shit. I think you'd have to fight him to wear a translucent one. (if you splash him with water, you'll acheive the same effect thoughahahaha) even though it's a beach, he's trying to find an appropriate way to cover up, hes just like that. yes to sunscreen ofc. I can see him in a sun hat, but it's not his.. maybe he took it from one of the girls

OH FUCK that's even IF he goes to the beach. it's like seeing God in the flesh, idk man I'd go blind........... hed probably come along when he realizes theres hot people at the beach. he cant have you looking at people in that state, hold on hes going. give him five minutes..!

It's my first time making a round challah!

I think it looks kind of like the cat toys I used to get for my cat, but making this got me in the holiday spirit. It's definitely not pretty, but I've always been a function over aesthetics kind of guy, and in my excuse... This is the first time I've woven and braided a dough (learn how this one was braided here! It's at minute three!).

I'm honestly glad for 5784 to be over... I've got so many things I should do to make 5785 better, and I wish that everyone making new year's resolutions have a smooth journey in achieving them all🩵

Did initially make a roadmap plan to split the books up into weeks on top of already being months, so that people could focus on specific parts and discuss each week….. but between the fact that I messed it up the first time, Silverborn kept getting delayed as I planned it, and I’m actually really bad at keeping to stuff like that (looking at you, Silverborn Countdown Challenge…) I’m deciding to just go for it at whatever pace happens.

Like I've said before. General Trans Scott enthusiast here- I love the idea of their little support network *violent coughing* I (we?) mean polycule *violent coughing* so fucking much.

Ramona I think has a bit of a more gentle hand with reassuring Scott with gender issues, but sometimes she just can't help herself from some pointed banter or teasing- how could you with someone so dense? (Said w affection)

And then Kim I think is more blunt. But like, in a good way mostly, you know? The kinda blunt that makes you snap to attention and go "Oh. Yeah that was silly of me." And if Ramona's started some sort of banter? Kim is SO piling on. Maybe sometimes she's a bit TOO blunt with it- but it's only because she's so firm in her support. She wants Scott to Get It Together- and be happier for it. So if some ribbing now and again is in order, then goddamnit she will do so! Anything to crack that shell.

And ohhh can you imagine how they would react to some transphobic bullshit?? Unholy terror would be driven into the offender before they walk off with an absurd amount of coins between them. I can feel it in my bones. Scott doesn't even have to lift a finger (if the transphobe is even noticed/processed at all, bc I honestly can see Scott just. Not realizing someone's being transphobic.) Kim giving someone a lashing with her tongue as distraction and then Ramona coming in with the hammer- BAM! Free Money! Paying literally with your life for your transphobia. A Better And Just World.

And of course (transfem Scott more specifically, here,) the way Scott would start to flourish under their support... cagey and maybe a little (perhaps a lot-) resistant to start- but Kim's blunt affirmations and no nonsense attitude for bullshit (which is what Scott insisting on "being cis" would be, c'mon now,) and Ramona's also low bullshit tolerance but less Stabby (bc I won't lie, that's probably how Kim's comments would feel,) assurances? Ough... My Heart... Be Still-

Zahard downplay is crazy. I'll grant Phantaminum (though regardless of how easily he could have defeated Zahard, fact of the matter is also that for some reason he didn't *shrug*). But Enryu (in its extent) and Urek?

Enryu fought an Admin (whom I, and that's just my personal opinion, believe to not be categorically more powerful than fully realized Irregulars outside of their supposed administrator monopoly over shinsu and its distribution, at least no to the point of categorically out fire - powering said Irregulars) and some fodder but people make the gulf between him an Zahard akin to heaven and earth (nevermind that Enryu is not an administrator, so the whole "but he killed one, and SIU said Zahard could never do it!" is somewhat of a false equivalent to draw for a hypothetical Enryu and Zahard battle. Anyone remember the whole "King of the Tower" Zahard deal, granted said position by virtue of the administrators? Of course he couldn't kill an administrator, he's the Irregular with the most known administrator contracts ("shackles") out of them all).

Mind you, I'm not even saying Zahard would win against Enryu or anything, but he IS 1) a fellow Irregular capable of Shinwonryu 2) a physical anomaly and durability machine, so I don't think it's weird to grant him better reaction times and endurance to say, a first volley of "Red Rain", than background rank and file Rankers. He also categorically doesn't underestimate people, even his far younger and inexperienced data only gradually tested Bam because he absolutely trashed him in their first encounter and wanted to have some fun, so it's unlikely Outside Zahard wouldn't realize the threat Enryu poses (SIU did say he had excellent survival instincts as befitting an adventurer) or not start all out. I'd even argue that to Outside Zahard a nearly hopeless fight to the death would be the equivalent of the fun his data self had with Bam, whether he himself has realized that or not (as reckognized by his data <3).

Urek punched through some scenery, fought an upjumped administrator parasite, needing Bam's help for the finish and had an exchange of hits with Luslec who chose to bounce. The fact of this extended battle screentime alone makes it narratively unlikely that Zahard is only going to be slightly more dangerous, because I see no way that wouldn't feel highly underwhelming to the audience. But even with those "feats" trying to argue that he's more powerful and how widespread that opinion seems already is kinda crazy. There's a reason 90% of Urek>Zahard is based on the old blogpost info about Arie Hon saying that Urek was "far better" than him when they fought at his floor (which. Big whoop, so was Zahard, 10:1 in that regard for him, since we're using blogpost info and such).

And again in reverse, I'm not saying Urek is not incredibly powerful in his own right or deserving of his high ranking, simply that he has yet to tangibly demonstrate something that would put, say, his physical strength (something I've surprisingly often seen as the edge people would give him over Zahard, when imo, giving him an advantage in speed seems far more likely, given his signature technique of "firing shinsu at the speed of light" and everything about Zahard's highlighted monstrous strength) above Zahard, who has the entire Princess of Zahard stuff on his side as a "feat" in that regard alone (creating Princesses out of not only Great Family members but even random Towerborn physically superior to all Ten Great Families average and the (physical) equal of Rankers even all the way back on the Floor of Tests with just a little of his power).

I'll also say that the whole concept of "yeah, number 1 and 2 are definitely stronger than number three (this checks out), but ACTUALLY number four was also stronger than number three all along!" (Uhh, what? In that case, don't give Urek a definitive ranking built into the earlierst lore, that so far checks out (Phantaminum>Enryu>Zahard), and make him a Traumerei or something) would just feel...Random. Especially since number three is the primary antagonist of the whole series.

Tldr; I see the gap between Zahard and Urek as likely to be wider than the one between Zahard and Enryu.
