In the face of recent news about our beloved Destiny, I think it’s more important than ever for us as a community to come together and support each other in numerous ways.

It’s been a very hard week for all of us, especially those who lost their jobs and outlet for their passion in mass lay offs. Losing a position that allowed you to craft magnificent stories alongside some of the most ambitious people in the gaming industry, especially in worrying economic circumstances, must be excruciating to deal with and I wish the best for all those laid off from Bungie.

For us fans, it hurts more than anything to see the game you care so much for get put in headlines for how little that care is shared amongst the people responsible for making decisions on it. I’ve been into Destiny since it first dropped, making it the love of my life for nearly two-thirds of my whole existence , and to hear about how it’s just another product to be sold when it’s everything and more to me is just despairing. I wanted to become a writer and concept artist to create a game for others that made them feel as cared for as I did when I played Destiny and now I’m sitting here seeing all the people who helped foster that feeling be treated as another expenditure.

It’s awful, a lot of us are feeling really uninspired and betrayed at the moment, not sure we even want to see what will happen to this masterpiece of a game in the hands of the current executives. We are also dearly missing the developers, artists, writers, and more who made Destiny more than a fps looter shooter.

But it is times like these where we are torn and confused that we must uplift one another and not let the bitter taste of Bungie’s actions make us speak with hostility. This is not about decisions on whether to support Bungie or the actual game, but about refocusing on what truly makes Destiny enjoyable to so many.

Its world is immersive with care put into every story and that clearly shows in just how eager fans are to create masterpieces for it. It was never playing the game or the notoriety that kept me coming back for more, but the joy of creation I could share with others.

It stings to see a disinterest in nursing the potential of the Destiny universe from the executives with motivations other than monetary gain, but when the executives won’t care, we can. There are still employees at Bungie who adore their work and we can continue to support them by speaking up against horrible industry practices and show that we won’t abandon their efforts to make Destiny what it is.

Make ocs, write fanfictions, follow the former employees wherever they go, draw til your heart is overflowing, join Discords, roleplay, share headcanons, create aus with friends, do whatever keeps Destiny alive and flourishing for you!

Destiny will never die to me, even when it’s long forgotten and the servers shut down, because Destiny made me who I am and I intend to repay that gift an infinite amount of times over. The characters and universe will be alive and well to me until I die, regardless of the fate of the game and Bungie.

So go out and prove that Destiny’s themes of the power of community and hope are more than just morals behind a screen, that they are life changing messages that we will carry on despite hopeless news!!

AITA for not really liking a friend's gift art?

So me and my friends share a Discord server where it's mostly us just talking about our OCs, sharing art and writing of them, roleplaying them, ect.

Recently we invited another friend into the group. He's pretty chill- I don't know him as well as some of the others in the group, but I like him well enough. He's also an artist with a distinctive art style. His stress relief is his art, and because he's been stressed by college and work lately, he's been doing a lot of art of our characters for free.

They've all been really gorgeous and well done, so everybody has been gushing over them, using them as their Discord avatars, posting them on social media, ect. I'll admit I was excited to see if he'd do my character but I wasn't gonna be pushy about it, so I didn't say anything.

Well, today I saw he'd tagged me and done art for my OC, but he got a lot of the details wrong. The piece is missing a bunch of distinctive traits and almost looks like a completely different person. For what it's worth, I have a bunch of references of my character in a specific channel for them, so it wouldn't be hard to make it accurate. Everybody was still gushing over it because it's a beautiful piece, it just doesn't look like my character at all. I put a really sweet message thanking him and decided I just wouldn't save it or add it to my OC's channel.

I thought that was fine but it's been a couple hours since that and now somebody from the server (NOT the artist) DMed me saying that I hadn't changed my avatar yet and was something wrong? I told her how I felt about the piece (just that it didn't really look like my character at all and I didn't really like it) and that I probably wouldn't be using it or posting it anywhere.

She told me that it was super rude to act like that about an art piece I had gotten for free and that it was really disheartening to our artist friend. I didn't really know how to respond to that so I just told her I'd think about it some more.

I guess I was feeling conflicted because another round of the Kirby OC Tournament is upon us and I kinda want to...cheer for my OC and produce more content of him (he's back to rotating in my head, rotisserie chicken style) but...I've been doing that non-stop for MONTHS already!! ^^;; And I also MISS being the kind of Kirby blog that went on weird drunken rants about Dark Crafter and other canon characters! (Or gave precious time to my beloved OTP...)

I worried people, even people invested in the tourney, might think I'm being flaky or self-absorbed for wanting to give my OC just a little more attention... (I'm also struggling to find the right way to do so! I have a LOT of roleplay-related anxieties + having a grimdark angst puppy OC doesn't help. And even though I have been dipping my toes in, I worry maybe I'm just more cut out for solo writing...?)

...But either way, I expect OC content to drop off naturally once the tourney is over in October (this will be my "one" first-and-last OC experiment too) so I suppose it's not that much of a wait anyway!

Now more about my oc Enidan- im not gonna say much about their lore (i want people to figure it out by doing asks and interacting with it's lore :3) however the most i could say is that,,,they eat people- it killed like,,,a ton of people. And- going to more regretevator related, she will appear on a floor (that i invented) called "Hide and seek"- ...you play hide and seek with her :D they're always the seeker,,,and you gotta survive for like,,,2 minutes- if someone manages to survive, she will enter the elevator- if no one survives, she doesn't ! (also- if u get caught by it, she uh,,,eats you. yeah :3)

Also- this IS something important that i have to mention about them- in her lore, she's Folly's assistant. Im mentioning this in case if any rp blogs (ESPECIALLY FOLLY RP BLOGS-) wanting to interact- i can't really change that part out of their lore because,,,its a important part of it- just by removing folly out of their lore and trying to change it- in most cases,,,she's dead :3 or if i do somehow manage to have her alive- everything about it changes (Design, lore, personality- EVERYTHING,,,AND BIG CHANGES AS WELL-) and- i may just be creating a whole new character by doing that- this is basically a hint to her lore already so yeah,,,:3

Btw- I really love roleplaying !! So don't be shy if u want to roleplay characters whether it be characters from regretevator, another game/show/etc, or your own :D

I was going to write, but I need to yap first.

Hi! My name is Cam, thank you if you're reading this post. I understand it's not what people typically look for on Tumblr, but I'm desperate for friends of a specific kind and didn't know where else to go.

I grew up with the Aphmau Minecraft roleplays and I watched her content up until My Inner Demons season one ended. Since then I've taken a step back from watching her new content, but I'm still enamored with what she built before. Minecraft Diaries, My Street and Phoenix Drop High all hold a very dear place in my heart.

I have a couple of friends that share the mutual interest, but since I (unfortunately) grew up on Amino when it was thriving, I deeply miss the sense of community. Aside from three TikTok accounts that seem to really be carrying the fandom, there aren't many people out there that still talk about Aphmau's old content.

I know as the fandom we all long for more connection, and with the release of Season 7 being confirmed, I hope to see everyone thrive again, even if for a little while.

But that brings me to my point!

If you have a deep longing for original character creation, silly fandom roleplay, character rewrites, and have an itch you need scratched, PLEASE hit me up. I'm just a girl who has rewritten the Aphmau series with her friend 3 times over. I am but a humble yapper who wants to share my ocs and the headcannons I've built.

Full disclosure, I'm not much of a drawer, most of my ocs are collages and jumbles of images off of Pinterest lmao.

If you're willing to do group discussions please let me know! My friend and I would love to have a small group of people who all just write and talk about it. Despite being adults she and I cannot seem to shake our childhood hyperfixations away.

If you want to know a bit about me I have experience roleplaying (like seven or eight years under my belt). I've done writing for oc x oc and oc x cc dynamics, as well as some LGBTQ+ writing! I am so insanely non judgemental. When I tell you your characters can be insanely over powered and I won't bat an eye, I mean it. The only thing where I'm like "mm, no" is insta kills.

While I don't dabble in it much from the writer's point of view, I do like reading angst. Granted that's probably from all of my years as a girlie that grew up on Creepypasta.

I’ve decided to open myself back up to finding some more roleplays! I’ve been a bit busy with uni recently and I’ve been missing DMs and such. So, I figured I’d make an official post!

So, Hi! My name varies on the internet, but you can call me V. I’m a 19yo female who has been roleplaying for close to seven years— with a main focus on OC x Canon and OC x OC doubles. My writing style has developed over the years, and I’ve learned how to mirror my partner’s styles pretty well! But, I have a strong preference for literate to novella writing.

My Roleplay Rules and Guidelines:

1. Third person POV writing only.

I really dislike any other POV writing, as I feel like it not only disrupts the flow, but it forces me to have to try and merge my own third person writing into another POV. This makes it clunky and hard to read back on.

2. Doubles for OC x Canon Characters are MANDATORY

I will not budge on this rule. Although I love roleplaying for the connection and a good story, I absolutely will not roleplay just a canon character against your oc because you ‘don’t know how to do doubles’. I know you can do doubles if you wanted to, you just choose not to. And that’s completely fine! I would simply rather not roleplay with you if I am confined to just a canon character and I can’t write my OCs against a canon character. The only exception to this rule is OC x OC threads.

3. NSFW is preferred

I am an adult who is interested in roleplaying adult themes. I am not looking for a strictly NSFW roleplay, but I am interested in the themes being present.

NSFW in this context includes:

- S3xually explicit scenes

- Unhealthy relationships/depictions of toxic behaviors

- Character death/character injuries/ etc etc

- Infidelity/Relationship breaks/ etc etc

This list is not here to be a checklist for everything I want in a roleplay. Rather, it’s a list of examples for what I’m interested in.

4. A minimum of 5 lines is required for a reply

As a descriptive roleplayer, I feel as if it is important to note that I simply will not reply to oneliners, * text, or [Character]:

This is the guy whose backstory keeps changing to make it sadder. He likes Jane Austen novels and hates feeling like a failure. Which he does. A lot.

Jack:

Jack is extremely difficult to make in picrews thanks to how weird his design has gotten over the years. This isn't even that accurate because he's supposed to have different skin tones between the stitches. Fun fact, this picrew game makes you choose between a face scar and a neck scar, so I just made two versions and put them together in MS Paint.

He likes poetry and music and his friends and the smell of green tea, and hates being talked over.

Sarah Cheung:

I used to do a lot more with Sarah; at one point I entered her into one of those OC art tournaments, but I dropped out after a couple rounds.

She likes singing and hates not being able to help when people are sad.

Rita Cheung Pruitt:

Rita's another OC that's gone through quite a bit of change, though I haven't talked about her nearly as much on Tumblr, if at all. As much as I love the sushicore picrew, there's only one body type option and Rita's supposed to be fat. It's hard to find picrews that look good and have more plus-size options.

She likes gardening and collecting animal bones, and hates littering.

I used to roleplay with this guy. If you're wondering if I went for bisexual lighting on purpose, the answer is yes.

Jake's one of the OCs I've talked about the least. He was pretty generic for a while, with his only discerning features being 'gay" and "telepathic", but at some point I was like "you know what this story's missing? A goth with a heart of gold" and Jake was enough of a blank slate for me to slap that on him and start turning him into an actual person.

Zuri Sullivan:

Out of all my characters, Zuri's been through the most change since her initial conception because proto-Zuri was a white boy whose name has been lost to time. The eyepatch is supposed to be on the left. The stuffed cat is plot-relevant.

For the Arcane timeline I am also quite versatile when it comes to alternate timelines - from "nothing bad ever happens" AUs up to "everything goes to shit" AUs

This is my first time doing kin tips so it might be a little hit-or-miss but see if any of these are helpful! I'm assuming this is in the context of ways to combat dysphoria/incorporate your kintype more into your daily life.

Raw Meat Diet: Obviously human flesh and raw meat isn't a viable option here unfortunately. @/forests-creatures created a good list of alternatives: Beef jerky, rare steaks, safe raw salmon & dried fruits. For sweet options, I'd say the red tongue-staining lollipops could work, as well as pink or red chocolate & red popping candy. Please research that what you're eating is safe beforehand! Tumblr is not a reliable resource.

Sunglasses & Sunhats: This tip was inspired by a similar vampires list! I'm not sure if your specific zombie kintype has a sensitivity to sunlight or is associated with the night but if so, incorporating sunglasses or tinted glasses into your day-to-day wardrobe might be an option! Sunhats don't blend in as well in the winter but there are rain & sun hats such as Tilley hats and other alternatives which you could use instead.

SFX Makeup: I used to do a lot of this a few years back! I absolutely encourage you to learn special effects makeup to create wounds or even just look a little more corpse-like. This is definitely not for the day-to-day but it's a fun hobby if you're okay getting a little messy! It can also lead into a potential career path. You can do some pretty effective stuff with some fakeblood, toilet roll, glue & foundation so it doesn't always have to be pricey. It's almost halloween so it should be the best time of year to gather supplies!

Apocalyptic Wardrobe: Ripped jeans are your friend!! I know not everyone loves skinny jeans (I certainly don't) so don't be afraid to find an old/cheap pair of cargos or wide leg trousers and make your own tears with some scissors. I'd recommend arm/leg warmers & fingerless gloves, which shouldn't look out of place now we're coming into autumn. Handkerchiefs can also look a lot like bandages. If you like to present more femininely, then messy ribbons & colourful braids in your hair can give the desired vibe.

Try Meditation: Zombies are sort of known for their head-empty, distant feeling from being undead so a healthy way of manifesting that could be through meditating! It's definitely a challenging skill to build but following a youtube guided meditation is a good place to start. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there were themed ones! (Maybe that's a new business idea for me... horror meditation...)

Go on a walk/hike: This is a common kin tip via the idea of connecting with nature. However, I think it works especially for zombiekin because you can recreate that feeling of solitude from the apocalypse.

Onto the more generic advice! I always recommend making a moodboard for your kin, which you can then use as the cover for a kin spotify playlist. Watching movies of your kintyoe is a common recommendation. In this instance I'd say include other apocalypse films/tv too!

A generic but less common tip is (if it's your sort of thing) make an oc/kinsona for your kintype and play as them in a game or roleplay as them online.
