how crazy would it be if i became a biology lab instructor. would that be crazy or what

#what am i doing? idk man #i saw a listing and it excites me. like teaching entry bio lab at a college. could you imagine #the college freshmen would be on their phones like idk what this guy is going on about but he seems pretty fired up about this #not much i can do about that but i for one would be having a good time #i finished my emt class and i only have to take one more test until im licensed #and then i can work as one or just volunteer and do plants as my job. which like. plants as my job is ideal i think #i think that is what i have learned i am so so so sad without plants #but an emt job could get me out of here right now at this very moment which is appealing #because otherwise my ass is going to put it off

Imagine if Billy didn’t know Shazam died?

(This is actually apart of my AU lol)

But what if Billy didn’t know Shazam, the Wizard, was actually dead? Like maybe he did see Shazam get crushed by rocks but he just thinks a Wizard could survive that, Or he doesn’t remember meeting Shazam for whatever reason. (Like he knows it happened because his pantheon told him so, and he remembers like a tiny bit of being at the RoE, but maybe he doesn’t remember Shazam dying)

This would be kinda funny to think about, especially if the pantheon’s trying desperately not to let Billy know Shazam died. But they occasionally slip up, and each time they do Billy gets slightly more suspicious. Also, in my AU since Billy and Marvel and separate entities, I think it would be funny aswell if Marvel didn’t know either. (—which I do have an AU explanation to make it work, but I fear I may be getting too off track already.)

Heracles: Shazam was a good wizard.

Marvel: Was?

Heracles: IS, is. I simply misspoke—Shazam is a good wizard.

Marvel: Oh… 🧐

Billy: 🤨

Billy: Yup! Gave me my powers, have you heard of him? I think he’s very well known. I haven’t seen him in a while. Hope he’s still doing alright.

Zatanna (Going pale at the mention of a very much dead Wizard being referred to in present tense): Mhm….yeah…

(the league in the cafeteria, listening to one of the rare times they got Captain to talk about themself. —Billy’s just procrastinating going outside in the midwestern November cold.)

Billy: So I got my powers from this Wizard, his names…um. I think I told Zatanna? Captain looks over at her.

Zatanna (going pale): Really. I don’t remember.

Billy: Oh, okay, that’s fine! Here.

Grabs a piece of paper and scribbles down the name.

Superman: Shazam?

Every magic user in the cafeteria freezes.

Billy: Yeah! He’s the wizard who gave me my powers. I haven’t seen him since I became Captain Marvel, though. I should really go talk to him, maybe I’ll do that later.

Achilles: But what if we didn’t…

Hercules: How about we don’t…

Solomon: That wouldn’t be a good choice, Billy.

Zeus: I agree, you’d be just of a fool as Atlas to go.

Atlas (offended): Wow.

brush test slash rendering practice with ayem

#morrowind #almalexia #the elder scrolls #tes #tes fanart #art #id in alt #ok that's all the tags this needs ANYWAY #i started this 1. for experimenting with coloring from dark to light #2. because i wanted to draw someone kind of back turned to the camera #3. rendering practice for hair particularly #4. to go from sketch to rendering rather than doing lines to see if that doesn't smooth out my workflow a bit #5. because i've never actually used this brush past flat coloring #and out of those 1. i don't think i had enough of an idea of the palette or process to jump into dark to light painting so i did scrap that #and go with my usual “flat color with one of the mid shadow tones add shadows add light”#i do think that painting from shadows out is a thing people do digitally i just think this wasn't the drawing to test it on for me #i think i'd need to look at some other peoples processes and start with a more fleshed out idea of where to go #2 and 3 i think worked out. i'm gradually figuring hair out which i think is sick #4 i also think worked out for me which is also sick because i do get caught on lines a lot. they're fun sometimes but i think some drawings #benefit better from not having them and that it might be a bit faster #and of course everything i do is so that i can draw slightly faster and better for next artfight #as for 5. i have mixed feelings on this brush but that might be because i hate change. and also because i started this drawing on the 15th #of november and finished it yesterday. so im kind of just sick of working on and looking at it #it was a valuable learning experience and i think it came out well! i am also going to drop to my knees and rejoice when i can finally #close this file out and free medibang paint from under it so i can work on Literally Anything Else #thank you almalexia for being my test subject i should've used a reference for your armor when i did the sketch but i didn't #maybe the crown looks weird because of it maybe it doesn't. not my problem anymore i can draw other elves again #my art #iiii think i forgot a my art tag last time

so help me god if I tanked the chance for a well-paid job with full medical benefits, sick leave, paid vacation time, etc. because I hardly ever do machine seam-finishing

I'm going to be. really really really upset

#personal #did a sewing test for a theatrical costuming job at a big local theatre the other day #did my best but I know some of my samples were probably quite wonky because I'm used to finishing seams by hand #and thus having more control to make adjustments as I go #a few I had to look up how to do on my phone- but then the proctor told me I could do that and they do it frequently in the shop #I go back and forth between 'it'll be fine; I probably did fine; they SAID they take all skill levels and that they google how to do things #and 'oh there's no WAY I'm getting this gig'#it was an interesting experience because the shop manager like. stopped me on the street to ask if I made my dress #and then if I would be interested in maybe joining her team #but now I'm like 'are they even going to believe I made the things I sent them pics of'#'or that they saw me wearing [I wore my winter coat to the test because it was V. Cold]'#'after my machine-felling on organza was an uneven disgrace'#I can fit and copy patterns from books and even do a bit of draping #I can do a lot of hand-stitching finishes pretty quickly and evenly #I can do insertion lace and soutache #I've made hats before #but I just. haven't done a lot of machine-finishing #and that's all they tested me on really #also sewing on snaps and one (1) hand-finishing stitch #(one I hardly ever use anyway- catch-stitch/zigzag stitch)#(I fell my hems generally speaking)
