hmm you already answered 1 in your tags. so 19 and 4, perhaps, for the mcyt ask game
thank you for the ask!!! :D
19: Have you picked up any vocabulary from mcyts?
Hmm, that's a tricky one? Like. Probably, because I was twelve when I started watching. But it's hard to know specifically. I have started using -ificate, but that's currently more a conscious effort because it's fun to say rather than normal so far. I do remember back in the day feeling like I was picking up vocab but now I can't remember it. "Hadjah!" is also fun to say. I am honestly more aware of picking up vocab from a specific friend of mine, but like. I've probably picked up mcyt vocab because I've watched so much over the years.
4: Do you play minecraft yourself? If yes, for how long have you been playing it?
Well, I don't regularly play these days, but I have played in the past. My account was created in March 2012... so that means my cubito is twelve years old now. My cubito is half my age. My brother got minecraft in Dec 2011, so me and my sister also shared his account for a few months until my sister and I got our accounts, and back then we played a LOT together. I remember not really understanding much, and trying to plan my house down to the block on grid paper while waiting for my turn to play minecraft. I tried to create two portal rooms in my basement because I didn't understand the nether and the end and didn't know you couldn't just build the end portal in your basement.
Friends at school would also play pocket edition minecraft so I joined in but bemoaned that the functionality was worse than computer minecraft. Bedrock minecraft in my head is still like 2012 pocket edition, even though I know it can't be true. A lot of minecraft in the early years and then from 2014 I probably stopped playing as much, and in 2016 when my Mindcrack interest died (because Mindcrack basically had died, and ZPM was all I was watching until it got abandonned), I also lost interest in playing minecraft too (and my friend had gotten me into danganronpa and then zero escape and then I just had other interests).
And then just before whenever the nether update happened again (2019??) I got nostalgic and opened it again and made a minecraft server with my siblings and friends again and it was great fun but then the server stopped working for people outside my network which was frustrating so then that stopped after only a few months and I didn't play any minecraft again for a few years and then I re-entered mcyt fandom in June 2022 with Double Life and I've watched SO MANY videos since then but not played much minecraft.
I opened a new world one day to open it to LAN so I could play with two friends but then one of them, her java edition looked like bedrock and she couldn't find the multiplayer window, and the other one could open multiplayer but her minecraft couldn't find my LAN world. so we instead played new single player worlds for a few hours, and then a couple of times over the next weeks I opened it and did small amounts, but then I haven't touched it in another year or so.
So like. Yes I've had minecraft for half my life now (which is WILD to realise) but I don't play frequently like at all. I would love to play but with a full time job + sportsball 1 + sportsball 2 i don't actually have much free time, and what I do have i instead spend on reading fic or watching videos or cross-stitching while watching a vod or playing dnd with my friends etc. playing minecraft would eat up so much time and i dont think i could just play like ten minutes at a time. plus i currently dont have a desk. or a mouse. so i'd be playing on a laptop on mousepad. which i've *done* but. Oh wait I did also play some MCCI briefly, but got bored on account of doing badly on account of playing with a trackpad and thus having terrible movement. and also being bad at pvp.
so i guess the short answers to those questions are "no" and "for twelve years" which are incongruous answers without the long explanation. and i'm now noticing just how long, so i shall be nice and add paragraphs for you.

love love love godhood... do you mind talking about ashka and naying? whatever you want, these kinds of dynamic just fascinate me endlessly <3
oh, i would be happy to discuss ashka and naying. maybe too happy, even.
where to start? naying doesn't remember the first seven years of her life, only waking up to find ashka watching over her. he tells her that her parents died in a car accident, the same one that injured her severely enough that she has to relearn just about everything. to her, he's the only parental figure she's ever known, and she's always felt a complicated sense of debt, awe, worship, and love towards him. sometimes, she felt as if she didn't know him, or understand him, that he was a distant point she could never reach, but she never doubted that, whatever happened between them, he loved her.
and then, when she's eighteen, he disappears. vanishes from her life. he had said he was going to meet someone, and then had never come home. she made missing posters, even talked to the police, but, eventually, it feels as if everyone but her stopped caring, stopped looking. the police found his bloodstained clothes, ruled it as a death, or murder, without a body, let it grow cold. naying dabbled in alcoholism, anger, and ruining her life one piece at a time. she never gives up hoping that he's alive, insisting that he's alive, because sometimes he leaves her things, groceries or gifts, things she knows are from him but can never prove.
so he didn't die. he didn't abandon her, he's not gone like everyone says. he just, for some reason, can't come home, and even though naying has rationalized it a hundred times in her mind, there's still a part of her that whispers he left you behind. it doesn't help that when she enters the outsider world, she's told some rendition of that line; her knee jerk denial is a defense mechanism, response, a way to protect herself, to not let it become the truth.
the ashka naying knows, though, the man that is her father, is a monster to the outsider world. he's the perpetrator of the greatest tragedies in the past century, a man honored as a god and then reviled as a devil. for his own greed, for his own selfish desires, he committed genocide (intentionally?), slaughtered a generation (intentionally), and, apparently, kidnapped a child just when they thought he might have gone to ground for good.
ashka is a man who looks to be in his thirties, but has actually been alive for almost a century. his believed power is unmatched, and, in the fifty plus years since the Battle of Black Cliff, he has become the bogeyman of the Outsider World. he's the last member of the last, revived godhead, a vengeful ghost who will not let the world move on. as long as he's out there, he's a threat to everything the Families and the World stand for. he's Wanted Number One basically. no one knows why, but everyone knows that, when she was seven years old, naying yue, heiress to the yue family, the next in line to be saintess, vanished. was taken. kidnapped. by a man described to be no other than ashka mihari.
most of the world has accepted that she was killed, but some outsiders never stopped looking, including the yue family. no body, no crime. when our naying appears again at twenty one, she is and isn't the naying yue they are looking for - to naying, they have the same name, but they aren't the same person. to everyone else, she's either a fake or a copy. no one knows the game ashka is playing, least of all naying herself.
now, in terms of writing, ashka and naying's dynamic/relationship haunts the narrative. particulary for naying, who has the main pov of godhood, ashka is a ghost in her past, always cropping up in her thoughts, memories flooding in at the most inopportune moments. the littles things bring him to mind; in her memories, we are shown a man who loved his daughter, a man who sometimes hurt her in ways only father's can (not in a dv/sa way though. let me make that clear; there are enough other evil people in godhood), a daughter who tried her best to understand him and be the best she could be. she's bitter and angry at him, but also longing for him. she just wants him to return, to prove he didn't abandon her.
to prove everyone else wrong.
but for the majority of godhood, we have naying's pov and memories contrasting with what other people tell her about ashka. we slowly learn the extent of the things he has done, the reasons he is hated and reviled. naying might not judge him, but the readers will have to form their own opinions on what sort of man he is. ashka himself doesn't make a (re)appearance until close to the end of the first novel at least; he himself haunts the narrative alongside the girl naying was.

Tumblr media
Wiping the sweat from your brow after chopping vegetables for Pearson, you decided to slip away for a moment’s rest and a quick drink of water. As you sat down, your mind raced through the endless list of chores left to tackle: sorting supplies, feeding the horses-
“(Y/n)! Get your ass here for a minute!”
A sigh escaped before you could stop it. What does he want now?
“Yes… Arthur?”
Without looking up from his journal, he handed you a shirt. “Button’s broken.”
Great. Again?.
“Right.” You mumbled, taking and inspecting it. Unluckily, your disinterest was too evident for him to miss.
Arthur’s gaze lifted from his journal, confusion mixing with mild irritation. “Right what? Fix it.”
“Do you... have to wear it today?”
“It doesn’t matter. Fix it. And wash it too.” He didn’t wait for your answer as you nodded, already bracing for yet another chore.
At this rate, my hands are going to look ancient by the time I’m 30 from all this washing.
You turned to leave, only for his voice to follow you. “Also, bring some coffee.”
“Arthur, don’t drink so much coffee all the time. It’s bad.”
From his cot, he glared, unamused. “What, you a doctor now? It’s only my second cup today.” Before you could respond, Dutch called him over, and he stood, striding off with a parting command, “It should be on the table when I get back.”
Grumbling, you turned to make the damn coffee.
He’ll get it, alright.
These were the times when you found yourself fervently wishing for your brother to get married just so you could be free from the burden of being his maid. But then again, would he even find a woman willing to endure a life like this? God, no, please, give him a wife. ASAP. But then again, you couldn’t help but pray for that unfortunate woman, too, because living here was no piece of cake. Do people even marry outlaws?
"...."
You shook your head and decided it was best to start on the coffee instead of rambling in your head.
⋆⋆⋆
Finally done with the day's work and free from Susan's watchful eye, you made your way to your tent and collapsed, face-first, into the pillow with a satisfied groan. You lay there, savoring the brief solitude, until a gentle throat-clearing sounded just outside your tent. The voice that followed caught you off guard. It was unmistakably Hosea’s soft, friendly tone.
You quickly composed yourself and stepped out to greet him.
"I wanna show you something. Come," he said with a smile, gesturing for you to follow. As he led you around the camp, you couldn't help but notice Arthur's horse was gone.
Thank God.
When you reached a quiet spot, he motioned for you to sit on an overturned crate beside him. "So, I gathered a few books here,” he said, a small stack beside him. “Annabelle mentioned you like reading, hm?"
"I--well..." Your voice faltered. How could you explain that after everything, your heart had shut itself off, wrapped tightly in a cocoon of cynicism? Arthur’s words echoed in your mind,
'Walking with empty dreams is useless. Lazy.'
The books felt like a window to something lost. They reminded you or maybe haunted you, of a past drenched in hope, of that rainy night when it all started to unravel.
"Well? Look, I'm gonna be honest with you," Hosea continued, his voice a comforting blend of seriousness and warmth. "You're a sharp girl, with a damn keen mind and a thirst for knowledge. So why waste your free time when you could read? I’ve got plenty of books you can borrow anytime you like."
You shifted, fiddling with your fingers. "No--I mean...thank you, really, but...it’s just..." The words caught in your throat, but you pushed on reluctantly. "Y'know...Arthur just...doesn’t… I don’t know how he’ll--"
"React?" Hosea let out a knowing chuckle. "Who says he has to know? Read when he's not around, it’s simple. And what’s his deal with you reading, anyway?"
"It’s not like he’s ever said anything specific, but..." You sighed. "I think he worries...that somehow the books will make me cling to the past. And honestly, what’s even the point of reading, really, when this is all I have to look forward to? Living here… forever."
"Now, don’t talk like that." Hosea’s tone softened, his eyes filled with an almost fatherly concern. "We all have different lives and paths, our thoughts and dreams that’ll shape our futures. And I’d like to see you have a life outside of all this, one with more than just survival, you hear me? You think I don’t want that for you? Sometimes I even think about it myself when Dutch is... well, being Dutch." He grinned, and you couldn’t help but giggle at the shared understanding.
"Also, don’t go thinking that being a girl can stop you," he added with a wink. "So… whaddaya say?" He waved the book enticingly in front of you, and any resistance you had left melted away.
"Sure. Thanks a lot, Hosea."
"No problem. And don’t you worry about Arthur, okay?" You nodded, cradling the book close as you slipped back to your tent. The weight of its worn pages in your hands felt like a secret gift. Maybe today wasn’t such a bad day after all.
⋆⋆⋆
It was just another day when you finished your chores and when you were sure Arthur had gone hunting, you settled into a secluded spot on the edge of the camp, your book propped on your lap, and lost yourself in the words, the outside world fading away.
That is, until someone snatched the book from your hands.
"Hey!" you shouted, startled.
"What’s this, oh, these damn boring books!" John, who was a year younger than you and had a knack for finding you when you least wanted to be found, held the book out of reach with a mischievous grin.
"Can’t you just play with me instead sometimes? I swear I’m so bored these days!" His voice was grating, and you could feel your irritation rising.
You lunged forward to snatch the book back, but he leapt backwards, a teasing spark in his eyes.
“John! This isn’t funny! I’m not free like you all day, alright? I do actual work around here, not out there trying to shoot a rabbit and missing every time, and now I’m relaxing, so stop being a jerk! Hosea would be mad if he found out you messed with his book!”
“Of course, the oldie is your tutor,” he laughed, clearly unfazed. “How about we do something that makes both of us happy? I get to play, and you get your book back.”
Gritting your teeth, you feigned a serious demeanor. With a quick breath, you lunged at him again, your frustration bubbling over. John’s playful stance told you he was ready for a chase, and before you knew it, you were darting after him, laughter bubbling up despite your annoyance.
As much as you wanted to giggle and enjoy the thrill of the moment, there was a lingering fear at the back of your mind, what if Arthur returned early? The last thing you wanted was to be caught in a childish game when he expected you to be responsible.
"JOHN! COME BACK! DON’T GO TOO FAR!" you shouted, but he ignored you, running toward the small lake that fringed the camp. You had no choice but to follow him, anxiety bubbling up inside you, not just from the chase, but from the thought of losing that book. It wasn’t just some random novel, it belonged to Hosea, and you couldn’t let him down.
“Here, take it!” John taunted, a mischievous grin spreading across his face as he threw the book into the lake.
“JOHN, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!”, your frustration boiling over as you watched the book sink beneath the surface.
“GO GET IT! HURRY!” You shouted, while John stood reveling in his victory.
“I don’t know how to swim!” He shot back.
“FUCK YOU!” But you knew you couldn’t let Hosea down. You couldn’t let that book be lost.
With a determined breath, you dove into the lake, plunging into the cold water. Your heart raced as you fought against the initial shock, remembering the few basics your dad had taught you when you were ten. You focused on the glimmering book sinking just out of reach and swam deeper, stretching your fingers to grab it. That's when John realized that maybe he went too far and kept calling your name.
Finally, you managed to wrap your hand around the damp cover. Kicking off the bottom, you propelled yourself upward, gasping for air as you broke the surface, the book clutched tightly to your chest.
"(Y/N)...I am sorry..." He stammered when he saw the look of absolute rage on your face. He knew he was going to be dead if he got in your hands.
The moment John took off toward camp, you bolted after him, fury blazing in your chest. He’s going to pay for this, you clutched the soaked book tightly in one hand and narrowed the gap between you. You could hear his frantic apologies as he dodged between trees and crates, but you weren’t letting him off so easily. This time, he had gone too far.
As the camp came into view, you spotted Arthur’s towering figure near the fire. He was leaning against a post, arms crossed, a dark look already on his face as his eyes landed on John racing toward him with you close behind.
“Oh, shit…” you murmured under your breath, your heart pounding even faster. You slowed your pace, watching as Arthur’s expression shifted from mild irritation to intense, unfiltered anger. John stopped short, nearly tripping over himself as he came to a halt in front of Arthur, his face pale.
“Arthur--uh-- I was just--we....” Arthur cut him off, his voice low and deadly calm. "What? Messin’ around, huh?”
Arthur’s eyes narrowed, shifting to you, drenched and clutching the wet book. His voice dropped into a growl. He directed a sharp glare at John. “Looks like more’n that to me.
John’s face drained of colour. “Um-we were just--playin'” he started backing away under Arthur’s icy stare, but Arthur grabbed him by his ear and pulled him closer, making John let out a burning wince.
“Listen here, you little idiot,” Arthur snapped, taking a step closer until John practically shrank under his gaze. “You ever pull somethin’ like this again, you’re gonna find yourself missin’ a few teeth, you understand me? Stay away from her.”
John nodded frantically, too scared to speak, and when Arthur jerked his head in a silent order to leave, John took off like his life depended on it.
Arthur’s eyes turned to you, his face darkening. His gaze swept over your soaked clothes, the way you clutched the dripping book like it was something precious, and his jaw clenched.
“Care to explain why you’re drenched head to toe?” he asked, his voice low but laced with irritation.
You swallowed, choosing your words carefully. “I…just wanted to get the book back.”
Arthur raised a brow, unimpressed. “And what the hell were you doin’ with it in the first place?”
You stammered, caught off guard, and Arthur’s eyes narrowed. He reached out, grabbing your arm firmly, pulling you closer. “Don’t tell me you’ve been sneakin’ around to read like a fuckin princess,” he muttered, his tone a mix of anger and disbelief. “That why you’re makin’ trouble?”
You opened your mouth to protest, but he was already fuming. Before you could get a word out, his grip tightened, and he gave you a hard, reprimanding shake. “You think jumpin’ in the damn lake’s a smart idea? Riskin’ yourself over some dumb book!? Are you fucking serious?”
“Arthur, it’s not-” you tried to explain, but he cut you off with a sharp slap across the cheek, the force of it blurring your mind for a few seconds, sending a shock through your whole body. You touch your cheek, trying to keep the hurt off your face and shield yourself from another one.
“You’re makin’ my life harder with this reckless nonsense, thought' I made it clear that there ain’t no use for fillin’ your head with fantasies out here. You need to learn what’s important here. Don’t forget your place. Also told you to not wander off! There are all sorts of dangers out there!”
Your voice was broken but you still managed to retort, "It's...not just fantasies...why can't you get it-" He threw the book from your hands, irked.
“Watch it,” he snarled, gripping your chin with bruising force, his face close, dark eyes simmering with anger. “You think I got time for this nonsense? Next time you got free time, you spend it doin' somethin’ useful, not messin’ around in places you don’t belong.”
But before he could go any further, Hosea’s voice sliced through the tension like a whip. “Arthur! Enough!” Hosea’s tone was sharp, urgent, as he stepped forward, grabbing Arthur’s arm and prying him back. “Have you lost your damn mind? Let her be!”
Arthur jerked back, breathing heavily as he let go, his jaw tight with frustration. He shot you a look that still held that smouldering fury but kept silent under Hosea’s watchful gaze. The older man placed a protective hand on your shoulder, guiding you behind him, his face set in a firm, disappointed scowl as he looked at Arthur.
“This isn’t how we treat our own,” Hosea said quietly, the warning clear in his voice.
"I will treat her however I want, so shut it, old man! She jumped in the fucking lake for a damn book!" He turned back to you. "If I ever catch you slackin’ off with one of these again, or doin' such stupid stunts, there’ll be hell to pay. You hear me?" You nod quickly, too scared to even meet his gaze, swallowing back any retort.
He muttered under his breath and turned sharply, stalking off into the woods, leaving you standing there, shaken but grateful for Hosea’s intervention.
“You alright?” Hosea’s voice softened, his eyes filled with concern as he watched Arthur disappear.
Though your throat felt tight, you nodded as your hands still clung to his coat. “Hm.”
“Don’t let him get to you, you do a lot more around here anyway, more than anyone I would say,” he murmured. “He...he's just afraid. But you...don't have to be."
You tried to smile through your tears, though the sting of Arthur’s slap still lingered, and you knew it would for days to come.
Hosea gave you a gentle pat on the shoulder, noticing the way your gaze lingered on the soaked book. “I see the book’s wet, but it’s alright. There are plenty. I’ll buy this one again for you.” His tone was warm, reassuring. “Now, go change before you get sick.”
You managed a small nod, before hurrying to the privacy of your tent. As soon as you stepped inside, the weight of the day finally crashed down on you. You sank onto the cot, clutching the damp fabric of your clothes, and let the tears fall, the frustration and anger pouring out in muffled sobs.
Everything, Arthur’s fury, John’s reckless prank, the guilt over Hosea’s book, hit you all at once. The tent felt like the only safe space at that moment, the only place where you didn’t have to hold back. Perhaps, it's better if you don't read, maybe Arthur is right...but Hosea's hopeful words rang in your mind. You buried your face in the pillow, letting out everything, all the confusion, anger and pain that was clawing you from inside, draining yourself.

Can I have Siskarak fanfic recs, please? I've only read a few (can't remember too well at 3AM; one on the Defiant comes to mind), and I was surprised by how well the vibe worked!
Oh absolutely. 😈 Fair warning that I’m gonna rec a LOT of my own fics bc I’m shameless like that, but also because I’ve written like 25% of the Siskarak fics that exist. 😂 Of course in addition to my little ramblings, please check all the tags and summaries on these and just read the ones that speak to you! 💖 And now, in no particular order:
so, I lied, I cheated by me - My beloved siskarak novella!! 🥰 It’s an In the Pale Moonlight AU where Sisko and Garak fake an affair to explain why they are meeting together secretly all the time now, so that no one will realize it’s actually bc they’re conspiring to bring the Romulans into the war. It’s a VERY cracky premise, and I then treat the implications of that premise with the utmost severity haha. It’s a big clusterfuck of them making each other worse and ruining each other’s lives but I did aim for a hopeful ending for them and for their healthier relationships (siskasidy and garashir). I’m so proud of it, I have some planted some insane character insights into there that I truly can’t figure out other simpler ways to express/convince people of than by writing them into a complicated angsty porny ITPM-but-way-worse fic.
And Scene by Flazéda (peternurphy) - Obsessed with this one. Sisko and Garak have to go undercover at a sex club, and I am just such a sucked for fake relationship scenarios. I’m also never not thinking about the moment in this fic where Sisko muses internally on how spanking Garak’s ass with a paddle is satisfying in the same way as swinging a baseball bat.
Moonlight Still Casts Shadows by Warpcorps @spocksbeanies - This one is SO HOT. It’s post-ITPM and Sisko is continuing to compromise his morals in delicious, sexy ways to accomplish his goals. 😈 (He’s having sex with Garak to keep him happy and working for him.)
Decadence: In His Service by JA Chapman is soooo good and sooo insane and I want to read approximately 10k more words about the messy, messy scenario described. Siskarak is only a secondary ship, the main one shown is Sloan/Sisko. I don’t particularly buy into it as realistic, but this fic ask all kinds of questions and offers NO answers, and I am driven insane by it every day, I do still recommend. XD
Exaltation by @hellostuffedtiger is another good one involving Sloan and it is much closer to canon than the above hahaha. Sisko and Garak have casual sex, then discuss S31 and Sloan and how to protect Bashir.
going up, going down by me - Crackfic to the max, haha! Garak gives Sisko a blowjob in the turbolift and they get caught.
Plausible Deniability by katiemariie is really interesting and reading it helped kick off my interest in the ship! I do have some small quibbles with it bc I don’t really buy that Garak isn’t interested in Bashir or that Siskarak could actually become a sustainable romantic ship, but oh man other than that the dynamic is great here!
Captain’s Whore by @the-last-dillpickle - Garak pettily making sure everyone knows he’s Sisko’s mistress is just so fun and delightful 😂
partners in crime by anonymous surprise, it was me lmao - A tasty little post-ITPM PWP where Sisko does a bit of introspection about himself and Garak’s effect on him.
you’re a criminal as long as you’re mine by me - This might be the one on the Defiant you’re thinking of. It’s set during Second Skin. I wanted to write a lower stakes, chiller, flirtier Siskarak dynamic here and I really really like how it turned out 🥰
A few more very short fics by me:
me and the devil walking side by side
lying down with dogs
dirty little secret
never loved nobody fully (alternate Siskarak ending) (there’s also a podfic of this drabble by klb and blackglass and horchatapods… I know at least one of you is on tumblr and I can’t remember which rn)
Not super shippy but def have some fun and somewhat charged Sisko and Garak interactions:
Farce of the Prophets by @cardassiangoodreads - This one involves Garak messing with Sisko a little bit haha. It’s got those fake relationship elements I love so dearly 🥰
Dance of Fools by stuffedtiger - More Siskarak fake relationship stuff 😈 They dance 🥰
redacted by me - Garak and Sisko figuring out how to work together when they are both stationed on Starbase 375 at the beginning of s6.
This was so fun to put together, thanks for this ask, I love gushing about my fave siskarak fics 💖

if you do drawing reqs, can we get mayor in different clothing from different time periods... specifically the victorian era? i'd love to see your interpretation of what he would wear, since i liked the 1950's one a lot!
The funny thing about this question is the fact that the Victorian era is in fact, a long period of time (1820s-1900s). There's a lot of differences in fashion all across the globe during this time period.
But I'm about 82% sure that you must be talking about British Victorian era clothing. And adding into that, middle class fashion. The 'educated' class. The people who owned businesses and factories and the ones who could spend their leisure time doing whatever and wearing whatever. Because that's definitely what the Victorian era fashion was known for. The extravagant upper class clothes. Not the working class, or anything below that.
So, after a little bit of a google inspo search, I think you were expecting something like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mayor in middle class, British, Victorian, masculine fashion. He probably wouldn't be too bold with their outfits in order to fit in. It was quite fun to draw this guy in a top hat and tail coat (even more fun than looking at all of the different types of Victorian neck wear haha). But, honestly, if we are going to be a little bit logical about this, he would not have arrived in England (if he's ever been there at all) all dapper and nice straight away.
In fact, I think it would be more likely that for a while, he would (even if just for a little bit) wear things similar to the working class of Britian. Coal soot and all.
Tumblr media
Look at the silly man! Like a newspaper boy. Obviously he will rise up the ranks of the class hierarchy but like, come on, he probably had to shove coal into a train furnace at least a couple ten times. I hope these designs satisfy you, they're not much, but I hope it was what you were thinking of.
I would also like to bring up the fact that, again, there are a lot of different periods of time during the Victorian era! One notably, the American Wild West (1860s-1890s)!!! Hence, I of course have a cowboy Mayor design (rather plain like the others but I haven't put too much thought into it really, maybe I should):
Tumblr media
And then there is the fact that before the Victorian era was the age of piracy. While technically for the west that period was decades before Queen Victoria came into power (1650s-1730s), the biggest flat fleet in China (and, I think also the world), was at its most powerful during the 1800s-1810s (literally a mere decade before the Victorian Era began)!!! That decade was under the leadership of Zheng Yi Sao, one of the most successful pirates in history. And of course, I do like to think the Mayor must have encountered her at some point. He might have been intrigued by the powerful woman she was.
So of course. Pirate Mayor:
Tumblr media
Out of all time periods I do like to think that Mayor was at his most grumpy at this point (even worse than their Chief era). Life out at sea was not very glamorous. But hey! They're a pirate! That's so cool!
If any of you are still here reading my rambling, I also want to say that this question just reminded me of an old drawing I drew last year. I kind of cringe looking back on it but I'm still just a little happy that I actually drew the thing.
Tumblr media
You can probably spot them, but the pirate and cowboy Mayor designs are there (right next to each other too)!!! Along with, some 1900s designs. A doodle I made about the Mayor through the ages :))).
Thanks for sending in the request! It was fun to answer :))).

HELLO!!! Been following your blog since like I was in 6th grade? Just now made a tumblr account so HELLO YOUR CHROM GIVES ME HAPPIES!! 💙💙
Anyway question for Chrom and the muse, does Chrom ever get sick? Colds or anything? Headaches? Stomach issues? I know he hates rhubarb but I was wondering if he had a immune system/stomach of *steel* besides that. The nurse in me wants to know!
Okay thank you have a lovely day ^o^
*insert x files music*
Tumblr media
sINCE 6TH GRADE!?! UM! HOW OLD ARE YOU!?!?! NOW??????? LIKE..SINCE WHEN DID YOU SEE MY CHAOTIC DISPLAY OF WRITING ON THIS SILLY GOOFY BLOG THAT I TRY TO KEEP AS 'PROPER' RP BLOG AND FAMILY FRIEND????and like fails...because life truck san lol
ok um i'm glad my rambling here makes someone happy haha. lives to serve the crumbiest of the scrumbtious of mister fayre embrumbu, krumb. honestly, this is my crazy zone where i can rant about this silly man and have fun and feel happy when people like you say that they are happy to read my chaotic thoughts nyehehehe~
and a question!? heck yeah my favorite kind of support hoho~
you got that right! and i think i might have mentioned this before here or on discord about him wolfing down literally anything because you know there was a time when ylisse was not doing great after le papa did that 'let's go to za war~' ylisse lost most of its farmers and able hands so basically agriculture and economy took a dive in the plegian sea. so in short, they had to survive on what they already had or managed to acquire from Ferox (ofc not charity) and ofc that means c/hrom had to eat what was given to him. so for his stomach, it is almost a black hole unless you are talking about sully, kjelle, lucina and vaike's food--he is still pretty much human and will keel over because of their mystery food x LOL
as for getting sick hmmm not really but the downside of him not getting sick that often is that when he actually gets sick, it is severe. and it does not help that he tries to act cool and tough and obviously anti-sleeping-on-bed. you literally have to strap him to the bed or put frederick on watch lmao. i mentioned before that his physical health is top notch but when it comes to mental health is questionable teehe~ you need naga's mercy and the power of tough love to shake dem demons out of him lololol.
i hope the nurse in you is satisfied with this answer ~ if you got any thoughts share them! it would be interesting to know more practical and medical side of things since i know zero about them hoho. thanks uncle gloglgoglo for answering some questions i have at times lol
Tumblr media
thanks lovely! your ask made me so happy, too! honestly i had to stare at it for a couple of hours and wait for the 'syke' but turns out a nice message ;u; <3

Murky-friend~
Hey, hi, hello, bonjour!
We kinda had a small talk with Buggo and Basil about their fav fanfiction tropes, so I'm here so ask youuuu... My dear!
You can just ramble about it, or do the tier list thingie, or ignore the question if you wish too!
— Simple-friend:)
Ahhhhhh hiiiiiii Simple
Okay um... this really is just rambling... and it's weird... I would not blame you(or anyone) if you see this and think "oh wow. She really is weird and crazy. Nope, I'm done with her". Because.... what I wrote down there... haha😅
Well. First off, I don't really read fics that much- um... yeah. I only started reading fics a few months ago. I probably haven't even had a taste of half of the troupes that exist in the world-
So far I've just read anything that I like. I see the writer's note or the tags and go "oh wow. Yeah, I like this" then I read it. So a lot of the time I go after
⭐the thrill⭐
Which isn't exactly... good.
Despite not knowing what half the words mean, I read smut. I'm sorry- I'm sorry. But half of the fics I can find on rare pairs are smut. And I like a lot of rare pairs. And I'm also learning abt reproduction in school so I think I'm allowed to read them(wtf? No that does not give you the qualification t-). But really I- I need something out of them. Okay?
So I read anything really. I'm not against anything. And when I say I'm not against anything? I mean ANYTHING
I kid you not, I read 'cupcake' and came out giggling in joy, also read 'dipper goes to taco bell' and walked out feeling... well it sucked. Why would someone write..... okay?.... but also at the same time I just found the whole thing just.. hilarious. It has a plot(somewhat) makes no sense... it was unhinged.. I mean- jumping ropes?? With vocal chords??? Like- I'm sorry. I have a weird sense of humor
(I read both earlier this year-)
Don't get me wrong. I know that some of these troupes are bad and aren't good. But uh you see, I'm not saying that I support them. Just saying- the concept makes me laugh. It makes no sense. I don't go looking for it on purpose and I don't really have interest in them(I also probably won't be able to remember what the troupe is about)
Anyways, I don't mind reading whatever as long as it interests me. And isn't too long. I don't want to get into something that's so long I get caught up and read only that for days with no sleep :p
So a lot of the things I've read so far is one~three chapters? Or one shots. It's not like I can actually find a fic that satisfies all the things I like and isn't a one shot anyways.
If I choose preferences though, anything if it's from people I know, fluff, hurt, comfort, something to do with canon(fixing it, giving characters backstories stuff like that), mind cintrol/betrayal, uh... yeah. Stuff like that.
So.. yeah. I hope.... that answers your question and... doesn't leave too much against me lol
My dear- augh- you're going to give me a heart attack one day I swear(I'm savoring this. Probably the closest thing I'll ever get to a relationship, platonic or not, in my life lol)
Also, I love what you did with my name. I'm stealing it.
Please don't hate me(is it too late to say this)

Why hello there buddy, hope you didn't think you weren't gonna get an ask in return >w> So hey for that fic ask, how about numbers... 1, 11, 29, 39, 50, and 75! And yee same, just however many you feel like answering :D
Haha I actually forgor so this is a lovely surprise! ^^
Hell yeah I will answer all of them! 💪💪 Unless I already did, I think I got a few of these before
1. Do you daydream before you write, or go for it as soon as the idea strikes?
I did answer that here! But basically I daydream a LOT but sometimes that keeps me from finishing the fic because it's like "I already wrote it" in my head, and other times I will just go for it and finish the idea in one sitting but that really only works for one-shots (which is most of what I write anyway). The fic I posted yesterday I just wrote it as the idea came to me
11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?
I used to force myself to slog through writing everything in order, but it killed so many wip by making me bored of the idea because I wasn't writing the fun bits yet, so now I jump around haha. Which does sometimes create issues when I start bridging the bits together and have to tweak or completely cut stuff, but it overall keeps me writing more and helps my creativity flowing by quickly getting down the parts I want to and building around them
39. What's your most self-indulgent wip?
29. What's something about your writing that you're proud of?
Also answered here! But sure I can give myself another compliment I earned it!
I'm proud of how my writing has improved over the years. Obviously any skill gets better the more you work it (I say as someone who typically gets distressed and will immediately drop something if I'm not instantly perfect at it 👍) but it's been really satisfying seeing my writing get good enough to be in a couple zines and having people enjoy what I've shared :) so thanks everyone who's ever been nice to my writing haha
For something that's almost done, it's a joke about a trope I never thought I'd write that got way too out of hand and sentimental instead of just quick dirty horny lol. Whoops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As far as planned out but not close to being done writing wise, it's a long fic for an obscure ot3 that died pre-canon and it's following the development of their relationships before exploding into their individual horrific deaths, and then maybe a sequel that follows a slightly canon divergent yet still canon compliant idea of what sets about the trainwreck leading to their deaths. Including me it'll maybe have 4 fans haha, but that's fine I love the concept and am having fun daydreaming about it. It's extremely self-indulgent to the point it's embarrassing
50. How would you describe your writing style?
1% evil (syntax) 99% hot gas (banter)
Hahah, but yeah I think I really thrive with conversation but I also really really enjoy working sentences until they bleed (aka I gave up) to convey as much info and emotion as I can without being too wordy, because outside of writing stories/fic/poems I'm an rambling mess that says "like" and "fuck" far too much haha! It's my only time to be concise ✌️
75. Is there a particular fic that readers gravitated towards that you didn't expect?
My first ever fic both that I wrote and posted. It blew up a lot more than I ever expected or hoped, and it still gets kudos regularly and comments occasionally, and is still by far my most popular fic haha
Unfortunately that causes me the tiniest 🤏 amount of psychic damage each time because while I'm thrilled people still enjoy it and that it's been read by so many people, it does not hold up to my current writing skills by any means. Oh boy it is rough around the edges haha

(About The forgotten lyre - your fic)
Hey mikiii I am not really sure if I should send this as an ask but my ao3 isn't working and I just HAD to let you know asap 😭
I loved your fic sm <33 😭 I really enjoyed reading it !! It had such an interesting plot that I genuinely thought I was reading a published novel...I was immediately spamming "next chapter" at the end of each one!!
For me, since I am not part of the fandom, I didn't know the characters so they were more like ocs to me but their personalities and dynamics were very clear through your writing :D
I am pretty sure I would love it even more if I was in the fandom and actually knew the characters (which means I must get into it now :D) but regardless I have grown to love them bc of your writing ^_^
Also I am a sucker for riddles and prophecies...so the moment the prophecy was revealed I was sold <3 and it was really satisfying when it was completely resolved :D
There were so many specific scenes I loved too...for example your descriptions of the various places and settings were very good :0 also there were quite a few dialogues I liked too but I'll keep my rambling short for now haha
Keep writing miki I'd love to read more from you!! <3
Also on that note, I have a question!
Is there a fic that you have written...that is your personal favorite? Basically what do you recommend I read of yours after this lol :]
[ALSO The artworks were so beautiful...it really set the scene so appreciation to the artist from my side <3]
AAAAA LEX OHMYGOD YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY READING THIS MADE ME im really really glad you liked the fic that much!!!!!!!
"I genuinely thought I was reading a published novel" YOU FLATTER ME 🥺🥺🥺 i love knowing you liked the plot of the fic!!! i also Love prophecies and riddles in stories so much but its difficult to do them right so i had to think quite well abt them and im glad you think i did a good job writing them in the end !!
and abt the characters i know you arent into enstars so for you to have read this long fic abt them really means a lot to me <33 im glad you say their personalities and dynamics were easy to understand through my writing and that you got interested in them thanks to it!!! now that i think abt it the characters do have a lot of nicknames depending who is calling them so i hope that part wasnt confusing aldksfk (and omg if you do get into enstars in the end you have to tell me :3)
aaaa i actually love writing description so im happy that you pointed out you liked those scenes 🥺 and there are also some dialogues that im quite proud of so thank you!!!
and im Overjoyed that you really want to read more of my writing like !!!!!! to answer your question im quite proud of every season is full of memories of you with me , and Pink & Blue is quite a short one but is very dear to me too! also idk if youve watched hxh? but i have quite a few fics abt it too. i really like a lot False Steps which is a dancing au !! but well you can just go through my ao3 page and just pick whichever if theres any other that piques your interest!!

I’m rewatching there seasons and I’m wondering if Troy did go with the purpose of killing Mike, what’s your opinion?
Oh god, the Mike thing!!! I'm still not sure I have cracked that one yet haha (and it's been years XD) Forever salty we did not actually get to see what happened (they always tell us Troy is bad but they never really show us. what's that about, hmm? can't really go there...?) what I wouldn't give to see it…
Anyway, to the actual question: I don't think Troy went with the purpose to kill Mike, I believe he tells the truth when he explains himself later, namely, that he wanted to talk to Mike. He does seem pretty torn up about Mike leaving in that one scene with Madison in the pantry, where he talks about his feelings (before he goes out to confront him).
Tumblr media
(Also notice how in this scene he's trying to open up/connect emotionally to Madison and how she only engages in as much as it leads the conversation towards her goals. when he goes "hard to know how to react to something like that" that's the heart of it, to him. What's got him confused, what he needs to understand. He's in essence asking for help there, for her to make sense of it or help him make sense of it and instead of doing any of that Madison goes "make sure no one else leaves" which is exactly her goal. bc if people leave the ranch, chances of winning the war are lower (or nonexistent if enough people leave)) Also, I fully believe, if he'd have planned to go out to kill mike he would've cleaned up his mess better. He's a lot of things but definitely not stupid. And you see how oh shit he is about being found out when Madison comes back with the bodies.
Tumblr media
You also see that he is unhappy with himself in that talk they have shortly after - in which he tells her his reasons for going after them.
Tumblr media
Namely, because he felt Mike owed it to him to tell him to his face (that their friendship was over). Which I also find believable. My reasoning is that in the already referenced pantry scene, he did voice his confusion over mike leaving pretty clearly. He really wanted, no, needed to know (I think that may be one of his driving forces btw, the need to know, I know no one asked me that but how can I pass up that opportunity to point it out XD). And then Madison goes "He didn't want to do that, did he?" And Troy shakes his head no, so… he must've tried to talk to Mike, to know that Mike refused to do what he asked of him.
Anyway, so yes, I don't believe he wanted to do this.
I do, however, believe that he knew it was a bad idea to follow the Trimbols. A part of him did suspect it could go out of hand - that things could go badly (he knows he has trouble keeping control when angry, I'm sure). I don't think he wanted it to go there, though. And I also don't think he felt like he could've stopped himself from going after them, again, because of his need to know (that probably feels overwhelming at times).
Thank you for the question and giving me opportunity to talk about this Mike thing!! I also had a whole thing already typed about how I tried to make sense of the scene of the crime, reconstruct what happened there, but honestly it was so rambly (and also not really part of your question) I just got rid of it hahahah
I do hope you find my answer satisfying and otherwise I'm always down for discussing things further (or for other folks to jump in and correct me/offer their own perspective)! Have a great day, nonny 🧡

hiii holly! i hope november's treating you kindly so far!
i wanted to ask whether you have any advice for writers that are just starting to publish. literally any modicum would be greatly appreciated.
it's really hard to assess whether one's writing is any good when literally no one ever reads it :( at the same time, I know I should write for myself first and foremost. can't help but want to be held accountable by the possibility of an audience, tho (maybe that's just my brain chemistry??) I fall into the pit of thinking "if no one's reading it, why am I even writing? I can daydream indefinitely and be satisfied. Why write?" Yet I always come back to writing; it's something magnetic.
it's not the same to ask close friends to read ur stuff bc they are ur friends, and may not give you the sincerity ur looking for so as to not discomfort u. conversely, they might not be interested enough so as to pick up on the fine details.
f/u question: how do you deal with publishing your work on the internet for free? does it ever scare you that strangers could copy and republish ur work without your knowing?
I guess that's one of my main apprehensions about posting loyally on writing platforms. I'm scared I'll write something I'm very proud of and have it plagiarized and not be able to track it back as my original property??
anyways, enough of my self-exposing on your q and a's feeling v vulnerable sharing my doubts so openly lol
thank youuuu :) ly <3
hiyaaa!! it's getting chilly, i won't lie, but other than that November has been pretty typical. likewise, i hope it's treating you well too!
honestly the fact you casually drop words like modicum probably suggests you're a paygrade above me in terms of writing hahaha
my answer is a long (srsly i just kept on going lmao) ramble, so I'll put a read more here haha
i've many lovely friends who i absolutely adore that I've met through writing that are now irls, but none of my friends that i know independently outside of writing have ever read my stuff - I've even got irl friends who are deep in the ao3 trenches, who are paying for other tannie writers' patreons, but we have an unspoken rule that my work is not to be read by them. i just don't let my friends read my work, full stop, so i get that sentiment.
the thing is, humans are naturally inclined to be storytellers - it's been that way for thousands of years. our tales are meant to be told. sharing is just a very human thing for us to do.
I've been publishing on wattpad (within the tannie space) for 4 years, now. readers didn't appear overnight - i actually recently found a screenshot of you up? from march 2021. it had 28 parts, 2.03k reads and 313 votes.
it now sits at 62 parts, 1.45million reads and 55k votes.
that's a little bit perspective for you, i guess - i'd written half of an entire novel that was averaging around 70 reads per chapter, but i loved that world, and i had story to tell, so i told it. some people viscerally hated it, some loved it. i was writing for me, and the numbers prove that. if you worry about the numbers, you'll never satisfied.
similarly, comparison is the thief of joy, or so they say.
comparing yourself to other writers is never healthy. there are far more 'successful' authors on wp in terms of reads, but i genuinely mean it when i say i think i have the most fulfilling and rewarding space on tannie wp because my readers are so unbelievably lovely. i wouldn't trade my current readership for bigger numbers, not a chance.
in terms of plagarism, there are 170,000 words in current use within the english language, and 36 plot types. we've exhausted a lot of them, already. overlap and similarities are bound to occur, so i try not get fixated on it.
take cv for example - i was so gassed up with myself when coining the terms mono and multi, only to find out after i'd finished writing the story that there was a drama with a similar concept that also used the term mono for a similar condition that aired after i'd already started writing cv. overlap happens.
similarly, we're a product of the media we consume. endeavour is my favourite word, because it was in a song i liked when i was a teenager and it stuck with me. i use it all the time, and we can trace it back to the pen of alex gaskarth lmao.
I've seen readers of mine publish work that's been heavily inspired by my work - with and without 'permission' - and i just sort of shrug my shoulders whenever i notice it.
the way i see it, we'll never tell the exact same story. likewise, no two readers will ever read identical texts the same way. i encourage creativity, and know how important it is for me to empty my brain, so I'll never go for someone's throat for doing the same. that's how myths were born, right? people telling and retelling the same stories over and over again? how am i gonna write a romeo & juliet x greek mythology inspired fic and then get annoyed for someone taking inspo from me?
just like the way hair will always grow back after a terrible cut, new words can always be written after a disappointing discovery. idk, i just don't take it very seriously, i guess.
as for whether or not your writing is any good - it's totally subjective. there are people who have explicitly, publicly stated their disdain for my writing. I've had cruel opinions about my writing projected and amplified to large followings. and it sucks.
but there are people who have been exceptionally kind about my writing, too. i get some of the loveliest messages in the world. there are tiktoks with hundreds of comments of just unadulterated loveliness directed towards my work. I'm afforded so much grace and love that it can be overwhelming at times.
not everything is for everyone, and that's okay. you can't let yourself get hung up on pleasing everyone.
the one thing i will say, is that if you're seriously concerned about your IP, write original characters, and use wattpad as your platform. i know they have a reputation, but they give a shit about copyright infringement and the second someone gets reported for plagiarism, they'll investigate it, and take down the story.
no reward without risk - you gotta decide if the risk of plagiarism is worth the reward of sharing your work.
and plus, ai is taking over anyways. may aswell write while we still can lol.
so i guess tl;dr - don't let outside influence impact your internal need to create. the right readers will find your work eventually, but it's not an overnight miracle kinda thing. if i stopped writing just because i didn't see results in my stats, then i would have stopped after kumiho, and we'd have never gotten throttle, or bd, or anything else of mine you might have read.
do it because you love it, and it fulfils you. i love the communities built around my stories, and that's why i share them. writing without sharing doesn't fulfil me in the same way.
okay i've really rambled too much so i'll leave it here, but i hope that helps a little!!! or at least has given you insight into my brain!!!!!!
luv u byeeeeeee

hello!! :D I asked for a spoilerless preview of 13s seasons a while back on anon, and your answer really got me excited to finish my rewatch!! took me a while because uni doesn't allow for binging the way high school used to, but I just finished season 12 the other day! I've enjoyed chibnall's era more and more the further I got (season 11 still definitely isn't anywhere near my favorite, but liked it a LOT more than I did on my first watch, knowing the foundations it was laying), and I LOVED the first episode of season 13! SO much! I haven't gotten further but I really wanted you to know haha, it's fun, it's exciting, it's got awesome new characters -- I so wish chibnall had gotten into the groove a little sooner, because this is exactly what I hoped his era to be! imagine if we could have gotten 3 full seasons on the same level... ahhhh I'm super excited to watch the rest! especially since several of the episodes you mentioned were your favorites are from season 13 -- and the first episode isn't even one of them!
Ahhhh oh my days hi hi hi!! I am SO so happy that you've enjoyed s12 so much! I think s12 honestly might be one of my favourite seasons of doctor who (although there are a lot of excellent contenders), simply because it just inspired me so much. There's so much to dig into. And yesss I think s11 works a lot better in context of the rest of it, which is super interesting. Actually, honestly, it all works SO nicely as a whole unit, which is super satisfying - to me, at least - but I suppose that hampered it when everything first aired, because we didn't have the whole picture (but also, that is how tv works sometimes ksksk - there were and are a LOT of bad faith viewings of this era, and it makes me so sad because I know that the moment you dig into it you start to realise just how rich this era has been). But yknow, what you say about s11 is interesting, because I do know a lot of people who really love it exactly as it is and always have - there are quite a number of people who got into Doctor Who because of s11, so I think, whilst there are things I don't like about it, I reckon Chibnall did approach it in a particular way with a particular intent - and it worked for some people, but less for others. And like, in a similar vein, I've actually found myself defending Moffatt of all people lately, despite the fact that I really don't enjoy like, two of his seasons, as well as a lot of things that he tends to do. But it's because I think like....hm, I guess I've lately found it really helpful to remember that all the writers are just humans who are putting stories and art out into the world that they want to create, and are sharing it with us - it's never going to be perfect, despite how much we want it to be. And there's always something of value in each era, right? Each of the main showrunners we've had since 2005 have had strengths and weaknesses, and there's something about each era that I absolutely adore. That said, there's definitely value in expecting better in certain degrees - but then you get people making hour long videos about how the show sucks now and I get so tired skskks
BUT YEAH sorry for rambling, your ask just got me thinking thoughts - much more importantly, you've got THE REST OF FLUX TO WATCH ahhhHHH have FUN!! War of the Sontarans is next and oh my daaaaays i love that episode SO much (I literally said as much earlier today and my coworker was like 'yes taka i know you love that episode' SKKSKSKSKSK SO. YKNOW) but honestly I just adore Flux. It's got such classic who vibes - I've started watching some classic lately and it's so funny seeing what inspired a lot of the structure/style of Flux (like the STUPID CLIFFHANGERS oh my days we need MORE of those). So I really hope you enjoy the rest - and the specials too!! Eve of the Daleks and The Power of the Doctor are soooooo much fun :D Please feel free to let me know what you think when you've watched it all, if you'd like to! I'd love to hear your thoughts/what your favourite episodes of thirteen's era as a whole have been! <3

Hello please can I have these for Cheviee 25 22 21 14 12 5 1 Sorry of they are too much 🙏🙏 I wish you a wonderful day
Awe, Julie! :D No worries, I love rambling about my favourites <3 I hope your day is lovely too!!
5. was answered here.
Chevalier
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
There are multiple reasons. On one axis, I truly appreciate his complexity -- there's so much to uncover about him, his motivations, the inner workings of his mind, all the intricacies of how to write him, that I cannot help being happy whenever I attempt to create a model of him. Placing him in situations removed from canon while remaining who he is? Extremely satisfying.
... But it is also that he's direct, that he's clear about his intentions, that there's so much weight to each of his words. His awkwardness, his desire to grow, his caring side. How many things are left unspoken with him, and how he does not wish to take credit for any of them. How considerate he can be. It's hard not to root for him.
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
Oh. Too many. Especially within my OC-verse.
Well, here goes nothing. I headcanon that little Chevalier wished Leticia was his, and not Clavis', mother. This way everybody would be happy, for Leticia was still capable of showing him warmth -- he'd have the parent he so desired, and his biological mother would have a child that was not a "monster". He actually envied Clavis.
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
Oh! I have a WIP drawing for this!
To be brief... Business, but with a bit of a funky twist (in terms of colours/patterns)? :') (I have an entire modern AU framework, incorporating my OC-verse. I can't go on a rambling trip here... I... can't... Although it's hard to resist the temptation.)
21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?
I love putting him into situations that he may struggle with. I want for him to be unfamiliar with something, to have to express his affection, to have to battle with his pre-existing internal protocols. It's mighty interesting to think about.
It's not that I don't like every iteration of it, but generally speaking, I'm not that interested in a lot of smut :') Just overall, though. I sometimes write it, but it's not my favourite genre of fanfic.
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?
Confession time! I... actually don't read that much Pri fanfiction. Or, well, fanfiction in general.
I think I can count the number of Chevalier fics / headcanons I've read on fingers of one hand. I simply didn't feel the need to, so... I think my sample size is too small for me to form any coherent preference :'D
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
"There is no way I'm going to like this jerk."
HA.
HAHA.
HAHAHAHA.
Tumblr media
I only started liking Chevalier around chapter 16-17 of his route. Before then? Oh. It was MIND-BOGGLING. A number of his dialogue lines sound like something taken out of my deceased grandmother's mouth. (Needless to say, she wasn't a particularly nice person.) I was bamboozled and I wasn't having a good time.
Now? Or, well, given everything that happens past chapter 16? He's one of my favourites. (And he doesn't sound like my grandma anymore. Thank goodness.)

I didn't know that Knights of the Alder used to be a series (or a plan of one)! Can i hear more about this, please? That sounds really interesting.
I kinda always knew that my story would be a standalone book. That being said: once this is done( and it will be done one day) I do want to write a little one-shot collection of sorts, with all kinds of stories from this world from all over the timeline. How did the characters deal with the aftermath of what happened? What were they up to before the story even took place? What elements of this world did we not have a chance to see in the main book?
I'm just rambling 🤣
But I really do want to hear about this Knights of the Alder used to be a series thing!
Well it wasn’t exactly planned as a series, I abandoned the idea before I could really get into planning it, but it was an idea I considered! That was before I decided a series would be too much work for me, haha.
In the series the Knights would’ve actually succeeded with bringing back the Alderking. Just that for that to happen they needed a new body for him to live in.
That body, unfortunately, would’ve been Henry (for kinda spoiler-y yet kinda obvious reasons). So book one would basically end with Henry becoming the new Alderking, since Rook took control over him and his body.
The other book(s) would’ve been about Aiden and Callan trying to stop the Alderking and bring back Henry.
You see, the situation would be that though Rook took over Henry’s body, Henry’s subconscious would still be there somehow. Him and Rook would be sort of constantly fighting for the control.
Their struggle (Henry coming to the surface occasionally and Rook trying to shut him out) would be one part of the plot, the other would be how Aiden and the others would fight the Alderking and his knights while also trying to save Henry.
That was the idea.
It would’ve included little things like Aiden and/or Callan trying to convince their allies to find a way to stop the Alderking without killing him (and this killing Henry since they are connected), Henry being so protective of his brother and husband that when Rook tries to harm them he fights through to stop him from doing so, a good old “i know you would never hurt me” moment and eventually, Henry winning the upper hand and getting rid of Rook. Stuff like that.
It would’ve been a great parallel to the way the Alderking and the holy alder are connected with each other (and how if one dies so does the other) and allow flashbacks and in general more backstory to Rook, but in the end it was just too big of an idea for me to handle.
I like your idea! Personally I’ve grown to prefer standalone books over series anyway cause those are often just too much for me. Little stories like you mentioned however are an interesting and fun alternative.
Funny enough, I actually plan to do the same if I should ever get done with the main story.
There’s a lot of possibilities with my world after all, i have backstories to tell (Henry and Callan’s story, that of Henry and Aiden’s mother, Runa’s story…), local legends and/or stories that actually happened in the world (the raven brothers, the creation of the world/fae, the old folk…) and possible little short stories with my characters after the story (Aiden and the wild hunt/ wild fae, Henry and Callan’s children…).
And not to forget the wild fae! Theoretically I also have enough possibilities for a second story in that universe as well, so the options are endless.
Oh and you know what I also want to do? A book about my story’s world(building)! Like, short ebtries to the deities and world details and stuff!
See, now I’m the one who rambles xD
I hope i could still give you a satisfying answer to your question! Thanks for the ask! ^^

Big Update Time!
First of all, I want to apologize for the unplanned hiatus. I need everyone to know, I made this AU suddenly, and I was entirely unprepared! I certainly wasn't expecting this much interest in it! I am often unmotivated and dissatisfied with my work, so that did not help me, especially once my hyperfixation died down and I got pulled into other things. And lemme tell you, hyperfixations are real strong! I feel really bad about disappearing suddenly, but I've never made something and had this many people be really interested, that is completely my fault for being unprepared.
I'm not sure how many people are still interested, but I was doing some thinking recently, and I'm not satisfied with how I ran this at all. So, some more news;
I am planning on revamping this AU!
Yup! I wanna redesign some characters, definitely do more research on the timeline and such with the show, try and get my motivation back! I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, so I don't plan on starting anything until I have a concrete plan for this story, or at least a structure so I'm not coming up with stuff as I go. I'm hoping to make this AU even better! I can't promise things will be consistent when I start again, but I still want to get this story out there. I'm most likely going to drop the "main" comic, and focus on smaller things that can allude to a bigger picture as we go. I don't trust myself to maintain anything really big like a comic series or even a fanfic, but there will be art and hopefully some mini comics and one-shots! I would love to be able to answer asks with art or a short story.
Ah, I completely lost track of what I was saying! Sorry for rambling -
TLDR; I want to restart this AU with a better structure. No large scale comic or fic, but I will continue to tell a story, and hopefully post more often.
If anyone has read this far, that means a whole lot to me. I hope you know how much I appreciate it. I hope I don't disappoint anyone again! (At the same time, I don't want to stress myself out! Please bear with me haha)

I see, thank you for the answer! You are the expert, if only because you are pretty much the only person willing to talk about him in general tags, as opposite to a personal ramblings on one's own blog (as I assume is done by the most, including the yours truly)! It's a walkover, if you so modestly will :D
I just wanted to clarify that I don't find him dishonest (generally speaking, at least), nor manipulative (grief-distorted attempts at well-meaningness, more often than not) and I definitely do not consider his mannerism to be fake (because it is genuine, as nothing ever slips at the rare occasions in which he appears distraught!).
What I meant is rather that theistic religiousness is a faith in The God, while Nyx is an a god. A personification of like, 21th of December 2012, or whatever else. Her cult isn't even a religious cult, it's a doomsday cult! They talk of her as of an event, not a deity.
Anyway, it doesn't ultimately matter so thanks again for the explanation and satisfying my curiosity. And my apologies for keeping you late, haha 💔
Tumblr media
(( Haha! Oh, yeah I guess that's true. I just always have tagged my headcanons and junk on and off in the tags, on the rare chance someone out there might care to see someone talk about him, so I'm glad I could offer some opinions you found useful!
Yes, I think I would describe him as... clever and opportunistic. He's charismatic, as Atlus calls him, and he uses that to get a response he wants from people, but he certainly believes what he's doing is right, earnestly so.
But, that isn't quite the right use of that term ( though, sorry if i'm just misunderstanding you ) but monotheism is the faith in a single god, polytheism is the religious belief in many gods, but both are theistic religions. So for example-- shintoism, Japan's major religion, is a polytheistic religion with a focus on nature and generalized spirituality, it has many gods that represent concepts. It most resembles the greek/roman religion of our real life Nyx. You can worship one god(concept) out of those gods and make a shrine specifically to them. In this instance, a shrine to the goddes of darkness. The Nyx Gathering, doomsday cult though it may be, would classify as a religion just as much as say, something like Scient/ology is a religion or doomsday religions throughout history. But they are all real religious beliefs. But a cult/religion-- both interchangeable terms mostly referring to the social acceptability of the belief-- doesn't even necessarily need a traditional deity to be a religion, which is why theistic religions have a separate classification. You can worship concepts, nature, a prophecy, a person, etc, without personifying those things into higher beings.
So I hope that helps too to make sense of why Takaya is seen as pious. But no !! Thank you for even reading all that nonsense I wrote last night tbh lmao ))
