"Is that the last of them?" the captain asked the scout and it seems like these ruffians are the last in this area. Apparently some managed to go around to attack the nearby village. Though as quick on his heels, Robin had sent another group after them already. Morgan went on ahead to intercept them and protect the villagers. "Then we follow them! come on!"

As they advanced, the evidence of the battle is clear--flames here and there, some dead bodies around and the cries. "Damn it! Faster!" it does not help that he wants to reach faster but keeps finding more and more foes to take down. Eyes frantically looking for any civilians he needs to protect for he won't break his vow to help anyone in need just because he was a bit late.

In the corner of his eye he noticed a figure--a familiar one. "Robin..--Morgan!" he called for her attention but it seems that she was doing everything to stop something. "Curses!" he dashed towards her but was stopped once again by a foe which he didn't have any problem cutting down and advance.

"Morgan-- Haaaa~!" rushing on ahead, he jumped and slashed that mage who was casting some nasty spell on Morgan. Thrusting his blade into the mage to make sure she does not get up and cause trouble. "They even hired mages...tsk...bastards...they really wanna set this village on flames..." he pulls his sword, turns around, sweat rolling down his cheek to check on Morgan. "Hey, I know you could've taken care of this.." in terms of magic powers, Morgan definitely got the fire power to destroy this area on her but why...?

"Morgan..?" Chrom fully turned to face the mage prodigy who didn't seem like in the moment. Actually, she was pale and sweating a lot. "Morgan!" quickly, he ran to catch her as she swayed in her place and then collapsed right between his arms. "Morgan!? What's the--" his words were caught in his throat when he noticed what was behind Morgan. The way he came from didn't enable him to see what's behind Morgan--what was hiding behind these couple of stones--two kids. Apparently, some kids from the village who got spooked out and ran to hide, hid behind these stones and Morgan had to withstand that mage's magic so she won't hurt the kids. Morgan could easily taken her down but if she let go or dodged the kids would get hit. They would be...burned. That's why she stood guard until someone comes to take care of the mage.

"You ..." clenching his jaw, Chrom picked her up, carrying her in one arm so he can still hold Falchion. "Just like your idiot father...sigh." despite how concerned he looked, he couldn't help but sigh and smile fondly. "Come on, you two. Follow me. You'll be safe and your big sister here will be alright, okay? Come now. Let's go find the others." As for Morgan, he'll have to talk to her about going solo. Actually, now he thinks about it...where the hell is Marc? Gods, does he have to go look for him, too? He would've been here before Chrom. That does not sound good ...

There is only one thing that would make Chrom part away from Rebecca--death. Well, he is being dramatic and he knows it which Lissa had to step in and knock some sense into him.

There was leaders meeting in Ferox in a week and he must attend as Ylisse's representative--the king, to oversee it. However, being an urgent matter and basically leaders only, there is no time and no point in dragging anyone else around. Meaning, he should go alone with his right hand man only--no wife. oh how depressing. The meeting would last a while to make sure they settle in for different matters.

On the day of his departure, Chrom had made sure to stay with Rebecca all day long then promised her he won't take long. He'll come back as fast as he can.

Days gone by, a couple of weeks passed by and finally, he came back to the capital. He might have passed his 30s but he would still run to find his wife first thing once his feet land on the ground. Nothing can stop him from seeing her, not even the fell dragon.

The two met halfway on the stairs to which Chrom just opened his arms for her to skip going down and just straight up jump into his arms. Bracing for the impact, he firmly hold onto her being careful not to slip and fall with her. His heart was racing so fast it almost stopped for a moment due to his excitement to see her back again.

"I'm home..! I'm home, Becca! Gods, that was unnecessarily long...Gods, I missed you! Please, let's not do this again." arms securing her close to him, Chrom happily kissed her fair skin and sniffed her beautiful hair.

"Oh, please, I needed you." pulling away enough to look at her face. He released one arm so he can gently caress her face, "Aah... what did I do to see Basilio's face for weeks and not yours... That oaf had the audacity to show off his wife while I had to come alone. Tsk, bastard. I feel bad for Feiruz that she has to handle a guy like him but it seems that she is ...well, how to say this, she might have tamed him somewhat. He usually would have me by the scruff to drink all night long but he didn't this time. Heh, guess she reined him in. Speaking of which... we should head back to our chamber. In these tiring times no one would prefer to pass the night without any form of entertainment; at least the kind that will make you forget the horrors of the day. For soldiers who have to battle almost daily, a moment of respite is quite welcoming, and for the Shepherds to encounter this caravan is a stroke of luck--for them, but apparently not for some.

At first, it was normal not to spot the bard. She may be getting ready or catching up with these performers since it would seem like she knows them. Chrom is yet to get acquainted with most of them so he got a vague impression that this caravan might have ties with the bard. Nonetheless, the night was young and the drinks kept coming, while the performers entertained their audience. Nothing out of the ordinary except if you count the shepherd's bard missing from this gathering.

Curious eyes scanned the surrounding to see if he can spot her here or there. Perhaps she is singing elsewhere or sitting who knows, but he cannot see her around. Strange ... Usually, he would chalk it up as not in the mood or something personal but the way a certain person has been acting made him follow his gut feeling that something is off. This person was none other than the this Sawyer lady. Something about her was making Chrom on his guard, thus he slipped away in search of Erin.

"Where is she ...? She can't have left the camp, can she?" talking to himself when he noticed a figure, looks like Erin. "Erin?" he questioned.

Twas in fact Sawyer Kissa and her husband, Daniel, and their lovely family, her big sister and other siblings, and the various others that had been attracted to her sister's light and wished to bask in its warmth and benefit from its reflected radiance.
