Canon mandalorian art and the Murals of Sundari
There's a very interesting thing about canon mandalorian art. Outside of Sabine's graffitis and armor paint, the only canon mando figurative art (that I have found) are the statue of Tarre Vizla -which go perfectly in star wars' long tradition of dead historical figures' statues, especially for Jedi- and the three murals of Mandalore. I said figurative because there is also the Memorial Shrine on Sundari that was bombed by death watch during the clone wars that is definitely not figurative. But that's another subject.
Of those two exemples of mandalorian sculptures that we know of, we have an old, historical, imposing rendition of a past Mand'alor (and in both medium and subject, what I personally headcanon as the favored type of art by Mandalorians) and a series of murals depicting one of the victories of the Mandalorians over the Jedi, during one of their war. And that mural is the only major art we see in Sundari, the New Mandalorians' Capital.
And that's what I'm going to talk about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Those three murals have obviously been inspired by Picasso's Guernica. I'm absolutely not a Picasso specialist nor do I wish to be (he was an asshole first category, thank you very much but ew). But. What I do know is that Guernica was commanded to Picasso to illustrate the city Guernica's bombing and denounce fascism, and later on was a symbol of the horror of the war (especially the world war 2 which started two years after the realisation of this imposing painting). The blatant difference with Guernica in those murals is that the violence isn't denounced at all. It's highlighted. The Mandalorians Crusaders have halos, they're bigger, standing, orderly, majestic. Opposed to that are the Jedi, distorted, chaotic, small, at the feet of the Mandalorians. This is obvious propaganda in favor of the victors of the battle. (Of the battle only because it's the Jedi who won that war.)
Using Guernica was an interesting and easy way to show "A War" even if the soul of it is completely reversed (which is really interesting too) but yeah, that's a smart and quick way to send a mood to the person watching those episodes of clone war, without needing to focus on the art. You see the style, you understand roughly what's the meaning of it. End of the parenthesis.
What is interesting is that this is the only figurative art I've found for the New Mandalorians. More than that, that last mural was right under the speaking balcony, above the royal platform of Sundari's palace. Satine Kryze talked about her ideals just over the graphic depiction of Jedi being decapitated. This, added to the cultural genocide the New Mandalorians were making, paint one hell of a picture.
For that last part on the New Mandalorians, @/fox-trot made an amazing explanation of it, in some of their tags once but I can't find the post again :( roughly, they were highlighting how, notably in Legends, the Mandalorians used to be a vastly diverse people, different colors of skin, different species.... But with the arrival of the New Mandalorians, not only we can't see any art but those ones, not only do they want to erase entire parts of their traditions and culture (armor doesn't mean war, you could change the warrior and blood culture without taking the armor out, cue Jedi and their weapons lightsaber), but they also are all human, white and rich. Boba and Jango Fett aren't seen as Mandalorians at all. The Wren are Death Watch so traitors and terrorists. The New Mandalorians are good and safe and refuse any way of protection, are more passive than neutral in that regard, and are a white, human elite.
That elite have hid/erased/we-can't-even-know-because-it-can-only-be-seen-in-it's-obvious-absence all of their traditional art but those murals, depicting the massacre that was one of their victorious battles in a war they ultimately lost. This is one hell of a propaganda and rewriting of History.
You can read it in many ways, two I can think of are :
-the New Mandalorians Government want to send the message "See how bloody and terrible and not-good mandalorian culture is. We need to be pacifists to not-be-like-that"
-but what it can look like is the symbolic reality of what they're doing : a cultural genocide painted in glorious light.
Anyway you want to look at it, with such a critical light of the new mandalorians or not, that those murals are the only art display in Sundari's palace still send one hell of a message.

While I do have many things to infodump about, I had a question regarding your sonic universe, specifically with Edea. Teo and Shadow(the concept) made me wonder, are the Black Arms completely different in this au? Do the soldiers have a conscious(like Teo's granddad we saw a while back), or is that a very recent developement? Is Doom and Shadow still around at all(considering in canon Doom is like 2000+)? As a resident of the Black Arms hyperfixation I've just been wondering about it a lot
OH BOY I get to infodump about Edean Black Arms lore :D !!!!
Ok so. preemptively, the lore for the Black Arms isn't air tight on account of "I would need to make an actual timeline for Edea's history if I want to have a proper explanation and I'm too lazy for that". but anyways--
In my hc, each of the Black Arms do have their own consciousness. They just work as a hivemind naturally ala actual Bees (on top of Black Doom being able to take mental control of any individual). This is the case for the Edean Black Arms.
The Black Arms aren't actually native to Edea. They came from some different solar system/galaxy/idk like in canon. They arrived on the planet who knows how long ago, not with the intent to invade at least not entirely, but to find a new home.
The Black Arms that landed on Edea were actually a refugee group. Were they the only Arms left after an alien conflict? Were they cast out from the rest of the Black Arms? who knows! I don't ✨
The initial contact between Black Arms and ancient Edeans probably didn't go too smoothly, but over the years they learned to get along. somehow. Out of necessity at first (Black Arms are literally fighting for their life on a planet with a unique type of energy that can slowly kill them, Edeans aren't keen on fighting an alien race that seem to be built for warfare), but eventually the two races just started being chill.
When the tensions started to lighten up, a bunch of Black Arms started to "break away" from the traditional hivemind setup and begin to think with more individuality. I imagine this caused a schism within the Arms population at the time. But the leader/Black Doom equivalent for this little group...just kinda accepted it?
Another hc! I think the Black Arms know how and do alot of freaky things with DNA and biology and stuff. They can essentially rapidly "evolve" themselves new body parts/features similar to cuttlefish/squids. And thus, the concept of "ever changing/adapting" is smth important in Arms philosophy. Or at least for this Black Doom/Arms leader in particular.
As a result of this philosophy, and the situation the Edean Black Arms were in, BD said this was but another way to adapt. Hence, a lot of Arms slowly became more "individualized" and started mingling with the Edeans on a deeper level--like Teo's grandpa! Who literally evolved himself to have a mouth just so he can give his wife kisses probably.
In terms of lore for Black Doom himself? I use him as the stand-in for the Black Arms leader mostly because I can't think of anyone else for now. He kinda dies of old age/illness a long time ago and replaced by a "successor"
The successor was supposed to be Edean Shadow--he was literally made to be a soft reincarnation of Black Doom for the new era by being partially of Edean blood, they even uploaded Doom's old memories into him to help ease him into his role as new Arms leader. (real 5 years old with 3000+ years of experience lmao) But Shadow just figured out it wasn't for him and left. The role was then taken up by someone else, and they serve as the current "Black Doom". I haven't decided who yet, I was thinking Eclipse but I'm still trying to figure out how it would work.
"Is Shadow is still around" yes he is. sort of. Shadow has this...Thing of "dying" every few centuries and being reborn into a younger Shadow. If you know about Doctor Who, it's like that renewal thing the Doctor does. Shadow's been through many of these reincarnations, each with varying levels of connection to the incarnations before and after them. So the first Shadow is probably not the exact same person as the current Shadow.

'Liberator' is an interesting trainer class for Hauyne. What's the reason for it?
Okay, so to answer that question, you'll need to know some Chroniclerverse lore history. I'm talking like super ancient history, all the way back in the Old World Era.
Spoilers from .karma files' Paragon and Renegade routes under the cut!
So in the Chroniclerverse, after humanity won the war against Arceus, Pokemon and its loyal followers the Sidhe (aka aura wielders if you've been following @/tired-needs-sleep's Sara content), the world starts to crumble away in the absence of their god.
However, the humans soon learned that the Sidhe have been attempting to resurrect their god, Arceus, using the golden arch it left behind upon its death via a series of sacrificial hosts. But it's not the resurrection of Arceus they're interested in, they're interested in the godlike powers the host of the golden arch was bestowed in. They did not want Arceus to return, they want to replace it with a god of their own making, one that could sustain the world in its place.
With that, humanity launched a second attack upon the surviving Sidhe, seizing the golden arch for their own selfish gains. They would call this artifact "Archetype" after refining it, and experimented it on willing volunteers in an attempt to find/manufacture their perfect God.
One of these volunteers is Electra, who would later become the Renegade Interceptor of the Chroniclerverse. Unlike the others, Electra showed far more promise as the Archetype's host, gaining traits of Dialga's abilities and was even able to manifest the Archetype's full power albeit for short periods of time. However, she inevitably contracted Genesis Syndrome and died a slow painful death, so she was marked off as a failure (although her soul was harvested and kept away for a different program).
Then came Reset Zero that ended the Old World, and Electra was awakened for the first time in eons to take Aevia's place as the Interceptor. Due to her being dormant for so long, her memories became fractured, so her journey across Aevium is also a journey for her to regain her memories, find out what happened to her old home and if she could return to it.
Of course, Electra would eventually learn that all traces of her old life was wiped away, which drove her past the brink of despair and made her obsessed with restoring the Old World so that she could return to her old life. To that end, she sent the world onto a destructive path, hoping to destroy it in order to make room for the restoration of the Old. While she was successful... somewhat, her destroying the world also ended up wiping herself from existence, so all her struggles ended up being for nothing in the end.
But not all traces of her was wiped away; remnants of her, the manifestation of her bitterness, resentment and grief lingered still, and it remained inside the CORE, infecting it like a virus. That 'virus' was what corrupted the CORE and by extension Karma, causing it to loop endlessly and trapping everyone in a never-ending cycle of death and suffering even after a world has flourished and "Bloomed". There's more to the cycles than just the virus infecting and corrupting it, but it's one of the main reasons since the loops are partially to reconstruct the data that got corrupted as a result of Electra's actions.
This is where Hauyne comes in. Due to her origins, she's gained awareness of the cycles very early on, realising that this was not supposed to happen and that there's something that's causing this unnatural timeloops. So her mission as the Interceptor went from "saving the world" to "liberating the worlds from its endless cycle of death", even if it meant declaring war against Karma itself and removing it as well as its influence from the worlds entirely. Hence, "Liberator".

To Amy - Is Shadow uncomfortable to cuddle with? He looks pretty spiky.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amy: I mean, we're all kinda spiky (⁀ᗢ⁀) But you are right, Shadow is a bit... extra-spiky. Shadow:(ᓀ ᓀ) Amy: You just have to be careful about how you do it! Watch! Shadow: (•_•)? [Amy holds her side of the blanket in her teeth, then shuffles around Shadow. She makes a point to smooth down their back quills with one hand while lifting the others out of the way so she can place her chin on their shoulder. Then, she takes the blanket from her mouth, grabs the other corner, and wraps both ends in front of them, keeping them low so Rosie can still see the television.] Amy: See? Shadow:(⁄⁄౦⁄‸⁄౦⁄⁄) Amy: Ah-?(//▽//)! I- I'm so sorry! Chaos, Blaze is right. I really have no sense of boundaries. I'm really sorry. I didn't even think about it- I- [Amy goes to shuffle back. Shadow grabs her wrist.] Amy: You... don't mind? [There's a pause. Then, Shadow shakes their head.] Amy: O-oh! Okay! [Amy settles in, slowly snuggling close.] Amy: You're always so warm... [She wraps her arms tighter around Shadow, who she cannot see looks like they are about to combust.]

I'm very confused by the ending I received to Starless. It said Ending #2, at that I didn't fully lose trust, but there wasn't really any closure at all. I found Ambrose and then it suddenly ended with no warning. I'm not sure how or why I got that ending? The only option I saw that seemed to relate to Ambrose's trust was at the very beginning.
Ambrose and the Mc have been very close since way before Starless. It's not closure the story focuses on but the relationship the Mc has with the prophecy. The trust level is the only thing standing in the way between the mc wanting to live their life freely or letting the prophecy rule them.
The story ends there, when it says 'ENDING' and then 'STARLESS'. The last scene is just a little sneak peak of what really happened to Ambrose. It was meant to show what he was doing the day the MC finally wakes up and what happened to Townwell
Should I just take the it off? 🤔
This story is pretty much either the epilogue of their (the Mc and Ambrose) adventures together or the prologue of the story of the Mc and the prophecy.

(redone this post bc of bad wording in the poll, sorry xD)
dont want to spam with this but i realized something about the poll i made about me kinda wanting to do a rant video about totk- and its that me calling my accent in english 'thick' might not be accurate bc that is my own perception of it, when i streamed i have been told that my english is pretty good, even if its still hearable that im not a native speaker, i dont know if that is still a thick accent?
while im not as fast in talking in english as i am in german its still fluent, i can have full discussions in english without needing any help and i rarely encounter a word i dont know for example, just soemtimes a little pause to think but even that might be skewed bc i talk incredibly fast in german; so i dont know how to judge it myself bc my own view of it is very biased :V
so let me do another poll bc everyone loves polls
(edit: if i end up doing it there would be english subtitles no matter what; im more leaning to doing it all in english bc if i did the voice over in german id have to translate the script for the subtitles which would be even more work :O )

Also, Ruan Mei was the one who lent the Phase Flame to Ratio, wasn't she?
#That Ratio and her were working together seemed to be the case since we first found him but idk#Ruan Mei plays dumb when we ask about him but I thought it was clear that she did know him#Herta also pretends she doesn't know him for some reason#cringefail acquaintance#Jokes aside I wonder why they did that. Is it because they both are ehm working behind each other's back#(Herta when it comes to the IPC‚ the SU and the bet‚ Ruan Mei kind of with everything)‚ or is it due to some other more complex reason?#Based on we've seen thus far I do think Ratio and Ruan Mei were working together in something#and that she was in the known of at least some things. Perhaps not everything#She seems to care about things beyond her research even less than Herta does#But given what we're told it seems fair to conclude the fire Ratio had was given to him by Ruan Mei#Herta said Ruan Mei needed it for some research. So either she didn't need it anymore and didn't mind giving it to Ratio afterwards#or maybe what Ratio was doing was something she was a part of. Or did Ratio steal it when he was around the seclusion zone?#I'm not inclined to think that tbh it seems to me Ruan Mei must have been knowingly implied. Yet now she owes Herta a favour#Which is more valuable according to Herta. This quest has left me very curious about the development of all this#Screwllum suspected Ratio since the beginning. I wonder if he suspects Ruan Mei too#Ruan Mei's line about Screwllum makes it seem like they don't get along too well I think. I have so many questions xD#I am very curious about all this‚ satisfied and potentially excited. Not yet excited but I sure have hopes for an exciting development haha#Maybe it will all end up being nothing but the relationships between the characters in the Genius Society (especially these three)#seems kind of messy and that intrigues me. The relationship the three of them have with Ratio seems intriguing too#Any iteration of these dynamics seems to be very interesting#Maybe it will all end up being nothing or I may be misreading or seeing more than there is but I am looking forwards to knowing more#I talk too much#Traces
