Tumblr media
Sun and Moon, Dawn and Dusk.
Never to meet, an endless pursuit.
Yet bound by fate, never to part.
An eternal balance, sworn to keep.
Wherefore Light goes, so too shall Darkness be.

Gonna reply in here so I don't clog up the tags...
So yeah, that's one of the many changes that happens in the AU. Most of it just doesn't pop up in my head unless I see a visual reminder lol. Hmm, maybe I should do a compilation of all the divergences in the Chroniclerverse sometime. If I can remember all the planned changes I have in mind, that is XD
i'd love to hear more about the canon divergence 👀

So I took this for my rebornverse OCs. Here are their results.
Artemis/Hauyne:
Tumblr media
Artemis/Hauyne (take 2 because I realised that some of my previous choices aren’t really in-character for her):
Tumblr media
Orion:
Tumblr media
And damn. This is surprisingly and eerily accurate of them, given their struggles and personalities.
Please take that uquiz it called me out so much I need others to suffer with me

'Liberator' is an interesting trainer class for Hauyne. What's the reason for it?
Okay, so to answer that question, you'll need to know some Chroniclerverse lore history. I'm talking like super ancient history, all the way back in the Old World Era.
Spoilers from .karma files' Paragon and Renegade routes under the cut!
So in the Chroniclerverse, after humanity won the war against Arceus, Pokemon and its loyal followers the Sidhe (aka aura wielders if you've been following @/tired-needs-sleep's Sara content), the world starts to crumble away in the absence of their god.
However, the humans soon learned that the Sidhe have been attempting to resurrect their god, Arceus, using the golden arch it left behind upon its death via a series of sacrificial hosts. But it's not the resurrection of Arceus they're interested in, they're interested in the godlike powers the host of the golden arch was bestowed in. They did not want Arceus to return, they want to replace it with a god of their own making, one that could sustain the world in its place.
With that, humanity launched a second attack upon the surviving Sidhe, seizing the golden arch for their own selfish gains. They would call this artifact "Archetype" after refining it, and experimented it on willing volunteers in an attempt to find/manufacture their perfect God.
One of these volunteers is Electra, who would later become the Renegade Interceptor of the Chroniclerverse. Unlike the others, Electra showed far more promise as the Archetype's host, gaining traits of Dialga's abilities and was even able to manifest the Archetype's full power albeit for short periods of time. However, she inevitably contracted Genesis Syndrome and died a slow painful death, so she was marked off as a failure (although her soul was harvested and kept away for a different program).
Then came Reset Zero that ended the Old World, and Electra was awakened for the first time in eons to take Aevia's place as the Interceptor. Due to her being dormant for so long, her memories became fractured, so her journey across Aevium is also a journey for her to regain her memories, find out what happened to her old home and if she could return to it.
Of course, Electra would eventually learn that all traces of her old life was wiped away, which drove her past the brink of despair and made her obsessed with restoring the Old World so that she could return to her old life. To that end, she sent the world onto a destructive path, hoping to destroy it in order to make room for the restoration of the Old. While she was successful... somewhat, her destroying the world also ended up wiping herself from existence, so all her struggles ended up being for nothing in the end.
But not all traces of her was wiped away; remnants of her, the manifestation of her bitterness, resentment and grief lingered still, and it remained inside the CORE, infecting it like a virus. That 'virus' was what corrupted the CORE and by extension Karma, causing it to loop endlessly and trapping everyone in a never-ending cycle of death and suffering even after a world has flourished and "Bloomed". There's more to the cycles than just the virus infecting and corrupting it, but it's one of the main reasons since the loops are partially to reconstruct the data that got corrupted as a result of Electra's actions.
This is where Hauyne comes in. Due to her origins, she's gained awareness of the cycles very early on, realising that this was not supposed to happen and that there's something that's causing this unnatural timeloops. So her mission as the Interceptor went from "saving the world" to "liberating the worlds from its endless cycle of death", even if it meant declaring war against Karma itself and removing it as well as its influence from the worlds entirely. Hence, "Liberator".

Been thinking about how the aura wielders would impact the whole Pokemon world, in a sense. I mostly talked about their influence in the rebornverse regions, but I would think there's also like clan branches existing beyond the borders of Aevium, Reborn and Ayrith, perhaps because they found the ancestral law to isolate themselves from the outside world too oppressive to bear and chose to exile themselves to create their own clans elsewhere... or because they chose to flee instead of staying to defend their homeland back in the days of the Great War.
Members of these clan branches have lost most if not all of their spiritual connection to the world their ancestors once had, presumably due to the constant intermingling with humans, although some traces still remain. In fact, I might even say that most trainers who choose to specialise in a certain type in this verse are distantly descended from these clans; they do not have the powers nor the defining characteristics of their ancestors, but their affinity to those types remains. Very occasionally though the spiritual gift manifests spontaneously in such lineages, but these are an exceedingly rare occurrences.
Either way, unlike their counterparts in Aevium, Reborn and Ayrith, the clan branches are not shy to make contact with humans and are even fairly well-known as influential political figures in human society like the Blackthorn Clan (which, predictably, originated as a branch of the aura wielder's dragon clan). I would think a lot of them have forgotten their roots as aura wielders who refused to conform to the isolationist laws of their people, but still remember that they once had a deep spiritual connection to the world even if its diluted and weakened over the generations.

Potential v13.5 missing children sidequest spoilers
Seeing that post about Odessa's thoughts on Kailani reminds of a subplot I had in my AU verse related to the Kristaline royal sisters and Dylan. It might change depending on whether future updates will include a new sidequest involving Dylan trying to get revenge, but for now the idea is that Kailani still lives but suffers a fate worse than death (but is incorrectly stated by V to be dead) as a Shadow since in this AU she has the ability to take on a Suicune form.
So there's a whole ass sidestory where Hauyne helps Dylan rescue Kailani and attempt to purify her, except for it to work they also needed Odessa's involvement in the purification ritual as well and half of the conflict stems from them trying to persuade Odessa to put aside her grudge for Dylan for her sister's sake
Again this is very likely subject to change if there is a follow up sidequest chain to the Missing Children quest in future updates

Hauyne is this.
At the beginning of the story, the name change was simply a means for her to separate her “Interceptor” identity from her personal identity, the latter of which she deems as her more inferior side. Then, as the plot progresses, it was eventually revealed that she went by her current alias because she was actually a split personality (though she was unaware of this until then, due to trauma-induced amnesia) - hence the need to create a new alias to “differentiate” herself from her original.
It’s also why when I called her by her birth name “Artemis” when I’m specifically referring to her child/pre-Calamity self, and “Hauyne” when referring to her in the midst of the plot events. But after a certain point in the story, the two names are used interchangeably although “Hauyne” is used far more often. Mainly because it’s the alias the other characters know her by the longest, and because she identifies more with the “Hauyne” personality over the other one.
Which oc is called/known by multiple names currently, or has fluctuating names? Does it vary by their company or where they are? Does it have other story reasons (like secret identities, aliases, transformations, titles ect)? Or do they simply identify with multiple names?

I don't usually go into too much detail about Hauyne's relationship with the Protectors, though it goes without saying it's a really complicated one. Mentors in a past life, forced to become enemies in the next and pitted against each other in a deadly conflict. The only one who didn't was Vivian, since she still remained friends with Hauyne both as Taelia and as Aelita.
Nymiera is a hard maybe, but considering how things are going I get the feeling that she would inevitably clash with the Interceptor. Her own protégè that she helped raised into the person she is now, and in a way grooming her for the Interceptor position. And probably the closest thing she has to a role model since there aren't any adult members of her kind left who could guide her. Yet Hauyne feels conflicted about her, especially after learning about the darker sides of her past. It's her own sense of principles and morality clashing with her own sense of affection for her mentor. She's disappointed in Nymiera's actions, disgusted even, but she not once wished to see her harmed. And yet that's what she must do in order to fulfill her goals. And she'll see it through, as she had done with Anju and Hazuki.

Okay, the official list of aura wielder characters (excluding OCs) in the chroniclerverse, categorised by the fangame they appeared in. But before I begin, a quick rundown on the terminologies used in this AU and what they meant.
Mageia: the most common subtype of Aura Wielders. They derive their powers through a deep spiritual bond with their partner Pokemon, known as a Bond Partner. Appearance-wise they are virtually identical to ordinary humans, and can easily blend in among human society.
Bond Partner: a Pokemon that is bonded to an Aura Wielder. For Mageia, finding a Pokemon willing to Bond with them is a rite of passage and a proof of their character.
Anima: a rarer subtype of Aura Wielder, having the ability to assume the form of a Pokemon. Unlike Mageia, they have some physical characteristics which distinguish themselves from ordinary humans, namely their pointed ears, clawed feet and their tendency to walk on their toes. For this reason, they tend to shy away from human contact and preferred to keep to their own kind.
Eikon: a variant of Anima, referring to specific Anima with the form of a Legendary or Mythical Pokemon. They are the rarest and arguably the most powerful subtype, and only one Eikon may exist for each Legendary at any given time. They typically are seen as leaders in Aura Wielder communities.
Sidhe: the term Aura Wielders use to refer to their own kind. In their language, it roughly translates to "people of the stars".
And with that out of the way, let's dive into the list!
Reborn Taka - Mageia. Bonded to Chatot Solaris - Mageia. Bonded to Garchomp Anna - Mageia. Bonded to Nostra (Jirachi) Noel - Mageia. Bonded to Xerneas Luna - Mageia. Bonded to Cheshire (Umbreon) Elias - Mageia. Bonded to Noivern Taube - Mageia. Bonded to Lucario Zina - Mageia. Bonded to Lunala

Bonded to Froslass Alexandra - Eikon. True form: Xerneas Odessa - Mageia. Bonded to Manaphy Damien - Mageia. Bonded to Hydreigon Vivian - Mageia. Bonded to Tyranitar Taelia - Mageia. Bonded to Gallade Hazuki - Mageia. Bonded to Aegislash Nymiera - Eikon. True form: Xerneas Kailani - Eikon. True form: Suicune Celine - Anima. True form: Aevian Flygon

Oh! also 1,2 and 9!
Since you also asked 11 and 12 in an earlier ask I'll just answer them all here xD
1 - Favourite character?
Erin. If my pfp icon hadn't already given it away lmao. She's just so badass and cool and takes no shit from anyone at all, just ticks off every single box I have when it comes to top fav fictional characters (if anyone says it's because of the white hair, no they didn't. nuh-uh)
Crescent is actually not too far behind, which is surprising since I didn't really like her all that much before. Gotta love mysterious characters with a cool introduction and presents herself as someone unflappable, but as you get to know her she turns out to be a dork who's just trying her best. Not to say that she doesn't have any faults or hasn't done anything remotely wrong, but the fact that she is genuinely trying to improve herself as a person and open herself up to the main cast is really endearing to me.
2 - Least favourite character?
Texen, need I say more? xD
But seriously, I really dislike Texen because of his shitty Andrew-Tate attitude. I get that it's most likely a smokescreen to hide his actual vulnerable self, but it doesn't make it any less irritating to watch.
Another character I dislike a ton is Neved. His resolve as a father is admirable, but as a person he is undeniably petty, delusional and hypocritical. In what world do you think that fighting for Team Xen would give your daughter a chance to live? As if she'd be spared from the inevitable oblivion that Xen brings if they were to win, and that's assuming she even survives the Light Curse. And just because Keta was overly blunt to his offer of support and gave him a harsh but well-deserved imo reality check, he decided to hold a grudge and take it out on Aelita because he isn't alive to take the brunt of his hatred anymore? Bruh.
9 - Is there something you felt should be talked about more? (Could be a character, a scene, anything really)
Honestly, not really? I feel like other rejuv fans are a lot more perceptive and analytical about the story beats, character developments and underlying themes than I do lol, so it's always a pleasant surprise to read their analysis on the game itself.
11 - Do you have ocs? If so, feel free to ramble about them!
I have two rejuv OCs for my rejuv verse the Chroniclerverse, although there are others of the same verse as they are (namely rejuvswap AU Sara from @/tired-needs-sleep). Both of them are Interceptor OCs, but each of them going down a vastly different path.
The first is Hauyne, my Paragon Interceptor for the Chroniclerverse. She's experienced all of rejuv's thirteen (fourteen if you include v13.5) versions, although she doesn't remember her past runs until the end of the thirteenth version and realises that she's been trapped in an endless loop for who knows how long. So her main goal is to put an end to the timeloops and set everyone free, this time armed with her knowledge of the future and her powers as an aura wielder no longer suppressed.
The second is Electra, my Renegade Interceptor. Unlike Hauyne, she's a Garufan who volunteered herself to be the vessel of the Archetype, but ended up contracting Genesis Syndrome and died. However, she did show a lot of promise when she gained the attributes of Dialga, so her soul was later harvested and kept for the interceptor Program upon her passing. She was eventually resurrected and placed in Aevia's body as her host to become the Interceptor, although the process had caused her memories to become fragmented and thus driving her to find the truth of her origins. When she did, however... it ended up driving her over the edge from grief, and it was what set her down the path of oblivion. She wanted to destroy the world, in the hopes of restoring the Old World and returning to the life she once had.
In a sense, Electra is Hauyne's predecessor. And when she went rogue and destroyed the world, her role as Interceptor was revoked and given to Hauyne instead. But even then, remnants of her legacy still remained in the reset world in the form of the Red Chain and the prototype of the spell that would later become End of Night.
The reason why Electra was picked over Hauyne in the beginning is because the Garufans and the Aura Wielders had a deep feud between them (the Garufans genocided the Aura Wielders out of greed for their powers), so Electra - being seen as more trustworthy - was chosen first. But after she ended up being a disappointing case, they were left with no other choice but to go for their enemy as a candidate. And it really shows how much they distrusted Hauyne, constantly putting her through loops when she so much as attempted to deviate from the script. In the end, this would be ultimately be their downfall.
12 - Any personal headcanons? Feel free to ramble! (You can ask for a specific character as well.)
Boy, do I. Okay, so here we go:
Ren's starter is his Growlithe, which was a gift from his late father before he passed away. It's also the only member of his old team that was on his current team roster; the rest were kept at his childhood home.
Ren once had an edgy emo phase when he was younger, something he was extremely embarrassed about. Not that it stopped his mom or Reina from teasing him about it.
Venam's starter was a Venipede that she raised from an Egg, but she later replaced it with Seviper.
Melia's Togekiss, Hapi, has a red star-shaped birthmark on his left hip.
Hapi has a habit of calling Melia "Mama", since she was the one who raised him since he was an Egg.
No one knows Melia's actual birth date; the one that is mentioned in-game is actually the day she and Jenner first met.
Erin's first Pokemon is her Butterfree, who she met as a Caterpie from before being imprisoned in the Unown Dimension.
As much as Erin claims to dislike battling, she does have a lot of talent for it and mainly does it to as either for self-defense or as a way to bond with her family/friends.
Before Erin was imprisoned in the Unown Dimension, she loved visiting the Kugearen Library (I'm hc'ing that there was once a library there before it was replaced by the Magnolia Library in the present day) and would go there whenever she can. It's mostly to get away from her toxic home environment, however.
Erin likes to dance, but gets very self-conscious about doing it in front of an audience so she only does it when she thinks she's alone.
Continuing the above point, Erin also has a really nice singing voice, but she almost never sings in front of anyone due to her feeling self-conscious about it.
Don't ever play any kind of card game with Erin, ever. She has insane luck when it comes to card games.
Erin's a coffee addict, and absolutely cannot function without her morning coffee.
Aelita has never once gotten sick. Not even a minor cold.
As a child, Aelita loved to hang around Vivian's tree. It still is her favourite spot, although she didn't exactly know the reason why she's so attached to it until she found out the truth behind her origins.
Tesla used to be a singer in a band, as a side-gig from before she made it big as a fashion model.
I'm not sure if this was confirmed as canon, but Crescent's birthday is on December 25.
Crescent specialises in Dark and Fairy types too, not just Psychic, although she does have a few exceptions like her Aevian Bronzong and Garchomp.
Crescent's favourite battle strategy is Trick Room and Gravity.
Crescent's Gothitelle is a partner Pokemon hence its peculiar colours, but it somehow kept the ability to evolve. Which is weird since Alain's Pikachu is also a partner Pokemon but it never evolved.
Alain is the second strongest trainer in their class, right behind Aero. The two have a friendly rivalry because of this.
While Alain mainly goes by they/them as a demigirl, they allow only their closest friends to use she/her to refer to them. The same goes for Aero, except with he/him.
Aevia is a Water/Fairy specialist... and is notorious for her stall strategies back in the academy. You better have some wallbreakers at the ready if you want to challenge her to a battle.
Ariana used to be cheer captain in the academy. Fittingly, her Sun team also goes by a dance theme.
While Axel is known to be the weakest trainer of his class, it's not actually because he sucks at battling. It's because he rather use movesets and gimmicks that he thought was funny to troll his opponents with, instead of going for an effective strategy.
Not tied to any character in particular, but Black Boxes have a pulse yet no heartbeat. If you put your ear against their chest where their heart would be, all you will hear is silence. They also don't need to eat, sleep, and breathe, although they may choose to do so either out of instinct or pleasure.
Black Boxes are essentially immortal; as long as their cores are undamaged and have sufficient energy levels, they can recover from any injuries. This includes regenerating lost or non-functional body parts. This doesn't prevent them from dying to poison, however.
Some of an Interceptor's abilities include clairvoyance and astral projection, allowing them to intervene even from a distance without being physically there (aka my personal theory on how character switching works)

For once, I'm gonna talk a bit about Orion and their ace, Isis the shiny Lucario.
So... Isis originally belonged to someone else. I'm thinking her original trainer was a wandering aura wielder, with a habit of picking up random kids they found throughout their journey as their apprentices and teach them about battling. Naturally, she'd pick up on the habit of teaching people, but being a Pokemon no one but her trainer could understand her. Eventually they grew too old and sickly to travel any further, so they left Isis (still a Riolu) at a Daycare in Sandgem Town, promising to come back for her... but they never did come back.
Naturally she was really hurt by this, so she acted out quite a lot and rejected every single trainer who offered to take her in as harshly as she could, gaining something of an infamy in there as a sullen unapproachable Riolu (that the staff looked at with pity). That is, until Orion came crashing into her life (literally, in fact).
Immediately she could tell that Orion was different, nothing like the trainers she rejected in the past. They reminded her of her former trainer, in fact, in their demeanour and the aura they both exuded. Curious by this, she starts to approach them on their own, watching and observing them from a distance before she eventually warmed up to them enough to teach them about the basics of battling, just as how her old trainer had done before it all ended.
Everyone at the Daycare could tell that Isis had bonded with Orion, but since they wasn't a registered trainer at that point, they couldn't ask them to take the Riolu with them when the time came for them to leave for Reborn. Not that it stopped her from trying, honestly. Instead, she captured herself within one of the empty Pokeballs Orion had (farewell gifts from the Daycare) and snuck herself onboard until she was discovered much later (which is not that long, probably around the time Orion survived the train bombing, got their starter and captured a few Pokemon from Peridot Ward).
They tried to return Isis after finding out she had stowed herself away, but with how the Riolu was unwilling to leave their side and the Daycare even requesting that they take her with them, there was no way they could say no. So that's how Isis joined Orion as their Pokemon, eventually becoming their best friend, ace Pokemon and bond partner.

Really like the idea of making some canon Rejuv characters aura wielders... Was originally against it because I didn't really want to mess with the "canonicity" of the AU, but then again it's an AU. It's whatever I want it to be as long as the characters are still recognizable.
So... yeah. Updated list of canon rejuv characters who are aura wielders in the cheomiclerverse, in order of when they're encountered in-game.
Prologue/Chapter 1:
- Crescent (Cresselia Eikon)
- Saki (Genesect bond partner)
Chapter 2:
- Aelita (Lucario bond partner, inherited Rock affinity from Vivian)
Chapter 6:
- Angie/Anju (Regice bond partner)
- Kreiss (Froslass bond partner)
Chapter 8:
- Odessa (Manaphy bond partner)
- Kailani (Suicune Eikon)
Chapter 12:
- Vivian (Regirock bond partner)
Chapter 13:
- Hazuki (Aegislash bond partner)
- Nymiera (Xerneas Eikon)

I don't know if you guys have seen my old masterpost update, but if you did... yeah. There's more aura wielders in the au now. I'll list them here and their bond partners/other forms where applicable.
Note: Eikon/Anima refers to those who can transform, with Eikon being a unique term for those with Legendary/Mythical forms. Mageia means those with bond partners
Canon Characters Crescent (Eikon) - Cresselia (she hates going into this form for obv reasons)
Kailani (Eikon) - Suicune (aside from being firstborn, Kailani's status as an Eikon was also why she was originally selected to be heiress over Odessa until she eloped)
Odessa (Mageia) - Manaphy (yes its the same Manaphy she used in the battle at the end of her sidequest)
Nymiera (Eikon) - Xerneas (this one should be obv lol. at least, she was one until she voluntarily digitalised herself into Nymiera.exe)
OCs Verdandi (Eikon) - Palkia (was the original bearer of Spacea's powers)
Skuld (Eikon) - Dialga (the original bearer of Tiempa's powers)
Urd (Eikon) - Giratina (the original bearer of Griselda's powers)
Ryuk (Eikon) - Yveltal (the original bearer of Vitus's powers)
Altair (Eikon) - Reshiram (Hauyne and Orion's great-grandmother. Degenerated and currently dormant in her Light Stone form)
Deneb (Eikon) - Zekrom (Altair's younger sibling. Degenerated and currently dormant in their Dark Stone form, in Madame X's possession)
Vega (Eikon) - Cresselia (Altair's childhood friend who degenerated sometime during the Great War. Was Hauyne's caretaker during her childhood until she was released, later becoming Iseult's bond partner)

Why did I do this to myself? Why?? This idea is hell to draw out, so much so that I straight up traced the references and slapped the parts I liked best together just to preserve my sanity.
Anyway, Chroniclerverse!Erin’s Demoness form.
Very different from the canon counterpart due to the influence of her bonds, which by extension affects the way she perceives “strength” and “power”. Hence the more ornate design.
Next up is Chroniclerverse!Melia’s Goddess form... once I’ve recovered from burnout. This took me two days straight to finish.

After seeing that one post about Vitus getting his balls castrated, I'm going to shamelessly steal that idea and have Nymiera personally castrate him after hunting him down for millennia as payback for starting a eons-long worldwide world and for murdering their son in cold blood.
...Did I mention he and Nymiera had a son in the chroniclerverse? No? Well, they do now. Not going to reveal his name because I don't have one for him yet, but he's the first Zygarde and eventually the first Interceptor, but was struck down by his own father when he stood in his way of his crusade protecting his mother from his madness. It's because of him that the Interceptor in the chroniclerverse is also represented by a stylised Zygarde emblem in ancient texts, aside from the Core's sigil more commonly used by the Garufans.
