The cage was cramped with three angry dragons backed up against each other, hissing at all sides as their flanks were pressed together in a tight circle. No matter what, not a one of them would dare move, no matter who walked by or what sounds that echoed around their bizarre floating wooden prison startled them. The dragons were not the concern.

After all, they had teeth, fangs, and fire...their sister did not. She was nothing more than a walking spindly skeleton covered in exposed flesh swaddled in bundles of shed dragon skin collected from her own family. She didn't have the means to defend herself that her brothers did, though she certainly would try.

The white dragon tinged with the blues of the sea was the most outwardly hostile and antagonistic, hissing and spitting at the slightest movement and sound that neared them, green eyes blazing from the darkness, while his silver and gold brothers each continued to be cautious.

They could survive these small armoured creatures that had the same proficiency to build tools that their sister did. They were mighty dragons, after all. The scourges of the sky and of the daylight. She...their sister was only their dearest little runt.

The trio of brothers would sooner die than allow these trappers to separate them from her. If they dared try, they would lose more than just spears.

However, despite the clear difference in size and threat between herself and her brothers, the scrawny women wrapped in pale skin still growled and hissed as gutturally as her comparatively weak vocal chords could allow. Though, the years had given her the remarkable ability to accurately mimic the communication style of her family and even other dragon species despite her limitations.

But she wouldn't allow her brothers to think she wouldn't fight to protect them as fiercely as they would to protect her. They were her brothers...she wouldn't let these people - Vikings, as she vaguely recalled the word from her very young and foggy childhood - hurt her brothers.

Their mother would never forgive her if she let that happen.

(Hi! Been lurking for a little while, hope this is okay as an introduction!)

This was different than their past raids.

Hiccup, from the scout reports, there weren't many dragons on the ship, but the species they held was rare.

Now Hiccup would have worked to free them either way, but he knew the stakes were high with how rare these particular dragons were.

Flying in low, the other dragon riders trailed behind him. His mother and Eret had joined for this particular mission as well.

Hiccup leapt off of Toothless, Astrid doing the same, and they used their flight suits to glide down to the deck, landing without making any noise.

They crept forward, knocking any hunters unconscious that they came across, as the other riders landed with their dragons, Hiccup found himself standing in front of a large cage.

Lifting his mask, his eyes widened in awe at the three dragons before him. But, their stance was rather unusual.

It almost looked like...were they protecting another? Hiccup couldn't tell through the dark.

That wasn't the only thing that shocked him, though. "You... you look like Night Furies, except...brighter..."

He couldn't believe what he was seeing!

But, these dragons needed to be freed first.

As the other riders worked to distract and stop the remaining hunters, Hiccup approached the cage carefully, hand held out towards the dragons.

He spoke softly, in a calm manner. "Hey, hey! It's okay, it's okay...I'm going to break you out, okay? I just need to..."

Approaching the cage lock, he realized it wasn't a pickable lock...but, it didn't appear to be Gronckle iron.

"Toothless! Plasma blast!"

The dragon appeared in the darkness behind Hiccup, blasting the lock, destroying it.

It didn't look like the dragons had any muzzles on, which was good.

Hiccup stepped back, swinging the door open. Seeing how aggressive these dragons were, he wanted to give them space.

"Go on. Hurry, before they can track you!"

Shinsou, the mans who has been daydreaming for months, made up all the scenarios, hyped himself up for weeks to ask you out, sees you across the hall, panics, and walks the other direction lmao, loses all his nerve

Meanwhile, you’re left wondering what the hell is his problem because you were just about to smile and wave…

I have no idea why, but for whatever reason I always imagine scenarios like this as that cartoony trope of the man’s flowers immediately wilting when the interaction is over—and for some reason that just screams Shinso to me.

Poor guy, he doesn’t even want much, just to take you out to dinner and maybe get to know each you better (lord knows he’s quiet as all hell)… he’s so smart and yet you have to wonder for what since he has no idea that you’ve been admiring him right back, all the darn while.

(Even if the image you have of him in your mind is a little bit different, more harsh, than the reality of him. Not that he can’t be a rough, tough-loving man, but… he wants to prove he can be sweet first, is all.)

Anyway. Like you said, he plans it all out so carefully… but his flower still wilt. And then melt, too, into such shame and embarrassment at the fact he can’t even seem to be friendly to you, either… and he kicks himself for it so badly :(((

Not that you’re able, but if you saw his face from the front as he was walking away, you’d see that he was blushing a neon, bright red (and thinking about how to try again). Gruff on the outside, soft on the inside.

I hope you understand how relieving it is to run into someone else that is *not* a fan of the new season. Its really really hard to be here, falling out of love with something, when everyone else around me is all "Oh its so fun!" "Oooo! Its so colorful!" "Look! Jack Black is in it!!!" because while I don't want to yuck their yum, they're also not very open to any sort of even very generalized criticism. And I get I'm being a little over dramatic (I am a sleep deprived college student, it is my right) but every "Just enjoy the fun!" "Not everything has to be so deep all the time." hurts because this was my escapism, this was what sometimes got me through the week...and now its no longer what it was, so I want the ability to grieve, and instead I am met with annoyance and dismissal.

So...yeah, this is a very long winded way of saying thank you. Not only for your fantastic stories, but also your amazing art, and for letting me know I'm not alone.

Firstly, I am sending good vibes your way because being a college student is fucking hard. Secondly, I'm really sorry. It is so frustrating when you're unable to enjoy something you used to really love and being told that it's because you're doing it wrong. There is nothing wrong with how you want to engage with and enjoy the things you love, and I think it's important to be able to vent your frustrations and talk these things out. It's better than letting things cook for too long and souring you to the entire experience.

To be honest, I tried to be optimistic and hopeful about this season. I told myself that I couldn't let my experiences with TBOBF, Kenobi, and Andor color my impressions of Season 3, even if I was left speechless and bewildered by the season premiere. I was anticipating the same responses you were getting so I tried to be fair. I'll wait until the season is over to decide whether to watch. I'll wait and see if the season improves, if I was overreacting, if I understimated Jon Dave Favloni.

Sometimes, a season of your favorite show just isn't living up to your expectations. Sometimes it just fucking sucks, and it's okay to talk about how disappointed you are by it. Whatever reasons you have for your disappointment, whatever you're feeling, they're all fucking valid.

They're certainly an interesting pair!! I can see Taco liking puns, if they're clever enough, but I can not see her admitting to it lol. She would hold in any and all laughter, unless it came from someone she really trusts like Mic. Cheesy is quite persistent, so I can see him potentially getting a giggle or two out of Taco, though I don't her appreciating the "yo mama" jokes he's apparently taken a liking to. Overall I think they could get along pretty well in smaller doses, but Cheesy would just be too much for Taco. Between Pickle, Mic, and Mepad, Taco definitely seems to prefer a more low-key sort of person, yeah? Too much silliness and noise would probably discourage her, between reminding her of her s1 persona, contributing to her habit of deflecting through humor, and getting her worked up without a chance to decompress, I think.

Please don't let me discourage you at all though!!! Even if I don't see them being close in the same way you do, I can see that you're really passionate and excited about the duo and that's great!!!!!!^^ Please enjoy it!!!!!
