I feel Penny would be way ahead of finding out her uncle has a special person in his life. And tries to get him to spill the beans at every opportunity. She'd be all for uncle dating, just feels bad he won't tell her.

The weather was perfect on that day - an overcast morning, hiding the sun that could damage Melissa’s ivory skin if left unchecked, but still providing a pleasant temperature for the witch to work on her vivarium. Spring had arrived a couple of weeks before - and her multiple-legged sons and daughters could be reintroduced to larger areas of the terrarium, no longer vulnerable to such bone-chilling cold.

It was very generous of Gomez to allow for Melissa to reside at the Addams manor and to retain contact with her twin; Morticia frequently worked with her plants at the greenhouse, and the two areas were connected through a glass-made door which was currently closed, a habit of the sisters whenever they were handling their favorite specimens. The witch was carefully testing a new method to milk scorpions - in particular the Indian Red ones she had received as a gift from the last trip taken by one of their (many) Itt cousins to Asia. 

Their venom was recognized to be deadly around the world - and the process to extract it usually led to the sacrifice of the animals. While Melissa was a firm believer in paying tributes to the gods and underworld deities, she couldn’t bring herself to do it with these beautifully colored insects and arachnids; the brunette regarded them as small offspring of hers, enough to devour scientific literature on the topic to try and emulate new techniques with witchcraft.

Electro-stimulation seemed to be working so far - Melissa had been engrossed with the process for the better part of a morning, and clapped her own hands with undeniable cheer at the droplets of the precious venom obtained and which did not prevent her beautiful son from moving over the table when she was done. Clearly he was fine - and the woman placed a kiss atop the carapace of the creature before leaving him to roam free in appreciation for his hard work, exiting the place to go inside the manor proper to retrieve more vials for storage.

But apparently, Melissa’s excitement with the procedure caused her to be inattentive to the vivarium door - a small space was left unobstructed, and the clever arachnid slipped outside using that route as an escape. It crawled across the grass and onto the outer part of the house, precisely where any arriving guests to the Addamses waited until Lurch could get to the door. It was there where the tiny animal set something in motion that one day would be labeled as the work of the fates - it hid in a small hole in the wall, enjoying all the new places it had never visited, and eventually landed on the hand of a man before stinging it, the reaction one born out of fear and incomprehension given his new residence close to a doorbell.

The stranger who had meant to announce his own presence was stung - despite the potency of the venom, the small scorpion’s victim was no ordinary grown-up, but an assassin with developed resistance to most of the regular toxins. The one of an Indian Red was not so common - reason why it worked wonders to bring his strongly built frame to the floor, hitting the pavement without ceremony and with his bags as silent, useless witnesses to his fall.

It was there he was found by Melissa - the door to the terrarium being ajar and her own witch senses made the brunette uneasy, and she went on a small journey to locate her precious son. She found the man first, given his size - and rushed to his side, unaware of his identity but captivated by his handsome, exotic looks. The woman then immediately started to look for any signs of a sting - and soon enough found the evidence on the back of the hand, immediately putting two and two together.

At that moment - the doors opened as if by magic (or sorcery), and Melissa’s twin stood on the other side. Morticia’s eyes scanned the scene without an eyebrow being raised, and soon enough her lips curved in a smile; somehow, the vision she was being gifted with did not appear to surprise the other witch (rather the contrary). 

“Ah, so there he is - I was afraid his flight had delayed, but now I see you two were just getting acquainted," Morticia chuckled, a hand moving some of her dark tresses over a shoulder, “Melissa, my dear, I don’t think you ever met Gomez’s oldest brother? This is Daigo - the one who lived in Japan.”

this is a poster i made for my call to action assignment in humanities! it's a bunch of basic and easy stretches for people who sit and work at a desk all day (me)

the idea is that you'd put the poster up above ur desk and do the stretches every 30 minutes or so,, the whole routine won't take more than about 6 minutes to complete and when done regularly it can prevent wrist, shoulder, neck and back pain! :)

all these stretches can be done while sitting (although i HIGHLY recommend you stand up and move around while taking a break from working)

Already her cheeks were aching from the bright and radiant smile she gifted each person who entered. In fact, the quicker she could get them all greeted and sat down with a glass of champagne in their hand, the better - then maybe, she could drop the bullshit-eating act and get down the real reason she'd invited them here. The gathered attendees were, in fact, a distraction, nothing else.

A throng of the great and good could not be beaten as a cover for her true business meeting and certainly, having at least a hundred people here would mean that no one person could keep track of her movements. She'd always be 'just over there' or 'talking to so-and-so' or 'busy chatting to some such person'. All the while, conversing and passing bits of information back and forth between the five men she'd actually wanted to speak with, while the alcohol-fuelled masses chatted and chinked their glasses together to drown out anything that shouldn't be overheard.

And the last invitee now approached, so her faux-smile became instantly brighter as it would only be needed a few seconds longer.

"Senator Archontas, how good of you to come".
