King Candy… Cane?

My version of King Candy! And finally talking about my AU:

While he remains an unstable character (I mean, he still took over Sugar Rush), he has more compassion for those around him and is constantly haunted by the guilt he feels after the incident. For 10 long years, Turbo has been hidden in solitude and is desperate to race again. It’s in his code.

When he sees that a new racing game has been connected to the arcade, he decides to infiltrate it, this time with more caution. He modifies the code to his liking, inserting himself into the game and using an unused character as his avatar.

As King Candy, he explores his new realm and eventually meets Vanellope. As he observes her, he notices that she is a glitch and witnesses what she has to endure every day. KC feels guilty, knowing that it was ultimately his fault that she ended up in this state, and he decides to take her under his wing.

At first, he is reluctant to get attached to the young racer, but as he gets to know her, he realizes that they are not so different; there is something about her that reminds him of himself… and the twins.

Over time, he adopts her, and for the first time in a long while, Turbo feels like he belongs, even though the weight of his past still haunts him.

He is still very controlling of everything in his kingdom, making sure everything stays in order, but he wants to be a good king to his people. He is very paranoid about another unplugging and acts overprotective over the game and even Vanny.

I love a good villain, and I love to challenge myself to rewrite said villain to have a redemption arc.

First doodle I did of him. Decided to change his color palette to something more Turbo-like, keeping the red and white ande re-using them to make a candy cane pattern!

The MHA vestiges/OFA holders make me so terribly ill.

they make me so sad. They make me so sad and I love them so much. All of them. From the first to the seventh. (I dont count All Might as a vestige since he isn't dead) . All of them died horribly (maybe not for Hikage since he just died of old age lmao loser died at 40 💀💀)

btw I made an AU with @rockin-it-rusty so read more to know (be careful, spoilers for after the finale war!)

We made an AU where after the war & the defeat of AFO & Shigaraki, the holders come back to life (since they all died because of AFO/OFA, and since both of it finally came to an end, I think it would be fair for the holders to finally get a fucking change at LIVING.) and they now have to adapt to the post-final war world & their new quirks (since they keep their evolved quirks ^^) & evolutions of society :)

I think a few points I would love to explore in this AU is the shear amount of angst you can get out of Nana coming back, ≈40 years after her death, still looking like the day she died(in her 20's) and meeting a 50+ years old Toshinori (y'know, her protégé? Her sorta adoptive son?) and her friend Sorahiko Torino who used to be her crime fighting partner and is now a senil(not really) old man. Imagine how devastated she can be. She knows that the man who put her friend in the hospital is her grandson. She knows they had to fight someone who shared her blood. Nana coming back to life has such amazing angst potential it's sickening.

Another point I wanna explore is the first user, Yoichi, Yoichi SHIGARAKI. You know.. AFO's brother? His twin? His blood? Yeahh. Yoichi coming back to a world destroyed by his brother. Not only does he grieve his brother, but he feels responsible for everything that has happened. Why does he gets to be alive again? Therapy might be needed here. Everyone HATES AFO, so why would anyone welcome him?

Then, we ofc have the fact that most(if not all) of the vestiges are WAR veterans who died HORRIBLE deaths. That means : nightmares, flashbacks, PTDS, potentially derealisation from their time as vestiges, paranoia and other mental illnesses/health issues. We also have : phantom pains!!! Phantom pain is really important since : En got sliced in two. He died losing half of his body and his right hand. He HAS to feel some kind of phantom pain even if they're back once he get resurrected; and Bruce got stabbed, having a gaping hole in his torso.. he had to be feeling some phantom pain too! Then, obviously, with Kudo & Nana getting choked, I can imagine that it would feel a certain way (choking is very easy, and the feeling of hands squeezing the life out of you is something you don't ever forget)...

we also have a few other ideas and stuff, so stay tuned ^^

he's removing his fingers one after the other before his hand is off of her all together, and the first thing she does is reach up to cover her wrist, where he had gripped her firmly mere moments ago. the panic in her chest eases ever so slightly but doesn't disappear altogether as she rubs at the skin on her wrist, trying to get rid of the lingering feeling of him.

she's not sorry. she is lying. she wants to run. so, emma isn't quite sure where this leaves her as she stares at the ground by her feet, feeling kazutora's eyes on her even after he strolled by her, blocking her exit if she tried to run. although she wants to sprint to freedom, there is a part of her that wants to know him. this version of him. where did he want to go? what exactly was he doing now? if he was offering emma free insight into that... would she be stupid if she didn't take him up on it? this could be her chance to help him. to help mikey.

turning slowly, emma gulps quietly, gaze finally meeting the boys after a few moments of staring into space. he was dangerous, what he was offering, or demanding, was dangerous. but still, emma had to know. ❝ okay. i won't run. ❞ it's spoken with unexpected confidence, which she found when thinking about the benefits of playing along with him. she'd find out so much information.

following his lead, the blonde takes a few steps, falling by his side. ❝ if you don't believe me you can hold my hand, ❞ she suggests, which might be the stupidest thing she could do, but she wants to gain his trust. raising her hand, she gives him a joking little wave before dropping it back to her side. ❝ ... do i get to know where we're going, though? ❞

It wasn’t mortification at being caught that blanched her expression, that had her timorous gaze avoiding his. there was more. It seethed beneath her, the dread of sinking. It’s a purgatory between what is known and her conjectures. even if that vice persisted without severity, who could say that he would not turn on her, that a countenance of patent amusement wouldn’t dissolve into malice. “ cool ? ”  her compliment is repeated, assessed with his mouth, his words. his gaze provokes her, bores into her in its relentless intensity. “ that was it ”  the suspicion in his cadence abates to an inkling of monotony. was all he wanted to sink his claws into mikey, to tear down the toman that meant so much to him ?  he had yet to release her, their proximity so close he could hear the haste of her breath, could feel as she tensed beneath his fingers. the air between them grows stagnant, the tension all but palpable. “ if you are sorry.” he murmurs “ and aren’t lying to me.”  his fingers unhook one at a time, leaving subtle red furrows in their wake.  “ there’s somewhere i want to go. come with me. ”  when she is finally released, when the air between them becomes breathable, he steps past her in strides, sparing a glance over his shoulder.  “ i suggest you don’t run. ”
