I would love insight into how you animate so smoothly in gmod

hi!! so i use the ragdoll mover and the stop motion helper add-ons :D

you use the timeline seen on the bottom of the screenshot to create your key frames and everything else in between ☝️ now i am no pro animator and what little i know ive picked up from various tutorial videos over the years....

stop motion helper has a great video tutorial for the very basics of how to use it! as for the process of animation itself well ummm i can really only link the 12 principles of animation, as i've mentioned that im no expert on the topic.

here's a video i made for the occasion--and i hope you don't mind, but i borrowed bolts for this demonstration ^_^ (i recognize the irony of using a robot to demonstrate fluid movements, but if other animators can use mannequins...)

Everyone knows of his "copy and paste" abilities, right? Even with little knowledge of a fighting technique, he's almost always been able to pull it off without any difficulty.

So why is it that he can't copy your technique?

He groaned, his hands on his knees as he panted, letting beads of sweat drip from his forehead and his shirt just slightly damp from the sweating. He hasn't been able to catch up with you at all during this training session. The way you'd fly through the air with no trouble, as if there wasn't such a thing as wind resistance. You were so quick with your movement, making it hard for him to even catch up with you. And even if he could predict your dodging technique, he couldn't predict where you'd dodge or if you'd try and land a blow onto him. You were so predictable yet so unpredictable as you'd never do the same thing twice, there was always something new with you.

"Goddammit," he muttered to himself, growing frustrated with his own slow movement, or rather what's slow compared to you. Usually he's quickly against most opponents, but of course you aren't one of those opponents. You giggle, "uh oh, looks like someone's struggling. Wanna call quits? No shame in doing so, Baby," your words were not comforting in anyway, your teasing tone giving away your true intentions. And who was Johan to not give into your obvious trap.

He wiped the sweat off of his face, and with a deep breath in he straightened himself up. Getting into a fighting position, one you havent seen before, he raises a hand, beckoning you to come forward with his pointer and middle finger, "you fuckin' wish."

With a laugh, you got into position as well, "finally gonna take me seriously?" you teased, your lips curled into a beautiful grin.

And with that, you finally make the first move, jumping up and forward toward your boyfriend. Your left leg winding back just as quickly as it landed a kick on your boyfriend's face.

"aww, you poor thing! I'm so sorry! lemme kiss it better," you apologized, taking Johan's face into your hands, careful to not grab too hard and to avoid bruises and bumps. Softly and gently, you peppered his face with kisses. And despite his frustration towards you, he let you do as you pleased (as if he didn't enjoy your coddling and kisses. The pink on his cheeks told you everything you needed to know).

"Do I look like I need help?"

"yes, very much so."

He sighs, "alright fine, but don't you dare get hurt!"

You laugh, "yeah, that's funny." that earned a confused look from zack and an even funnier look when you stood on your hands kicked your heel into a workers nose, causing a messy nose bleed and most likely a broken nose.

"what the fu-" his distraction and attention on you left him open, a rather weak punch to the jaw causing him to get his head back in the game.

Just as he takes down the second to last worker, he's almost taken out by the last one but is saved when a chain wraps around his torso and is yanked against the ground, his head hitting the ground first causing him to pass out.

On the other side of that chain was you. How were you able to slam a man 3x your size to the ground with a chain no less? Zack has dated you for a pretty long time but has known you as a friend for longer, and he's had no idea how or when you've acquired such skills. but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't thinking about marriage right now.

"hello? Zack? Earth to Zack!...what the hell is wrong with this dude-"

"marriage..."

"okay, what the flip man."

it was supposed to be a peaceful and fun date. And it was for a while. You and your girlfriend, Mira, first got coffee at your favorite cafe, then went shopping at the local mall, and now as your leaving the mall's arcade, hand in hand with Mira, a group of mall stop you from exiting.

"what do we have here?" the one in front, who also happened to be the tallest and most menacing, mocked the two of you. Mira, unafraid and not one to give into bullying or intimidation, replied, "we're on a date, can't you see that?" she raised hers and your connected hands, showing them evidence.

The tall one laughs, his three lackeys laughing along with him, "oh sweetie, I know you can do a lot better than," he looked you up and down, "that." He takes a step closer to Mira, though she stands her ground, refusing to move or let go of your hand. She already knew you had her back, though she's never seen you in action, the stories told from Zack is enough to tell her that you're more than capable of protecting her and yourself.

The man smiles, his hot breath wafting in Mira's face causing her to scrunch her nose in disgust. "I'm a much better person to be going with, doncha think?" it was much worse for Mira when he talked.

And just when the man was about to move closer, he was rough shoved backwards. "yeah, that's enough," you step in front of Mira, realizing that this man was taking it too far and would go farther if he could.

But apparently, the shove backwards was not enough hint for him. "mother fucker!" he wasted no time throwing a punch at you. You deflect it by simply shoving his arm away followed by a kick underneath his chin. he damn near flies backward and onto his back, your leg straight upward in front of you for a few seconds before you slowly lower it back down.

Mira stood behind you, stunned with her hand covering her mouth. Her shock increases when she realizes that the man was now unconscious as his three goonies try to shake him awake. They try to point fingers at you, blaming him for his 'death', which was ridiculous because it was very clear that he was still breathing by the way his chest rose up and down. Of course their accusations cease when you smile down at them, your smile full of mischief and malice.

They end up dragging away their leader and you and Mira were able enjoy the rest of your date in the mall in peace.

hello! i am currently in progress of writing an empires owl house au fic, and i am currently in the planning stage! ive decided to show this off to the hellsite because why not

spoilers to the owl house under the cut so dont read this if u havent finished

the plot will be similar to the main series, with some tweaks and extra adventures to add something to it and not just make it a nameswap fic

sausage - basically just king but he can speak spanish because gem has some spanish books from the human realm

jimmy - willow - healing track, younger but more mature brother to lizzie, romantic interest is scott

lizzie - gus - oracle (and later potions) track, jimmy's older yet less mature sister, tries scamming people occasionally

mattholomule - joel - construction, rivals with jimmy, tries to help with new hexside during the collector's reign, but joey shuts him down.

emperor xornoth - belos - formerly a full human, now half demonic with the palisman curse, who was transported to the boiling isles with his older twin brother, scott. scott found love in a witch in the isles and xornoth murdered scott after finding out

the golden guard, scott - a grimwalker of the original older twin of xornoth, about the age of 16

fwhip - lilith - the older twin brother to gem, cursed her when they were children so he could enter the emperors coven. is the head of the emperors coven. attains half of gem's curse at the end of arc 1, where he becomes a

i have another post in which i am asking for some help on the cast, but if any of yall have ideas, i will gladly take suggestions for chapters in this series! hopefully i can fully flesh out the story, otherwise i might just do one shots, but nonetheless i hope you enjoyed the idea!

I HAVENT POSTED FROM THE LAST TIME I PLAYED I HAVE TO DO THAT AT SOMEPOINT… I made it to the beginning of act 3 and baldur’s gate is the sort of game where when I sit down and play it it’s Baldurs Gate Day and that’s all I’m gonna do (much like regular dnd with my group lmao) but let me say the stakes have certainly UPPED. I TOOK SCREENS AGES AGO BTW and have not edited them

I’m still so amazed at how immersive this game is when it comes to the world you’re adventuring in, there’s so many neat little moments you can stumble upon and I adore all of the companions so much, I’ll just talk to them as we’re adventuring to see what they’re reactions to different things are and just weaugh… they feel like people and it’s so cool getting to see how this adventure and your influence changes the outcomes of their stories.

Also just as another fun note it’s helped me with learning normal dnd 5th edition mechanics and stats n stuff so when I play with my family I’ve been able to understand some thing better which is just nice for being able to manage my character (there’s bg3 Vander and dnd tabletop Vander and they’re both great)

not a big deal here. check the bazaar, look at the gear you get from questing, etc

krokotopia has a gear set that's ok for the levels you get it at. youll get a bunch of the world gear sets just questing thru their respective worlds

30-60

olympus! olympus gear will last you to level 60

you'll probably end up with 100000 sky iron hastas just by running olympus like 3 times. this is good. sky iron hasta is your friend

the celestian gear sets are also pretty decent! not as good as olympus, but you'll end up with 1000000 of these pieces just by questing thru celestia so there's no farming involved

also: random wintertusk gear can be pretty good as well. i got some good athames/rings that i used until like, azteca iirc

60-100

waterworks time . waterworks will last you until lvl 100

evaluate how you're doing at lvl 90, and if you think you need better gear run tartarus a few times (but darkmoor is only 10 lvls away, so keep that in mind too)

idk about atlantea. i dont think many people really bother with it?

some of the azteca athames/rings were upgrades for me personally

listen im sure there's better gear to be found in between darkmoor and the aeon gear. but i dont really know about it and frankly half a darkmoor set lasted me for ages

i did check the bazaar & looked at the gear i got just from questing though. i think i got a few wand upgrades. always check the random gear u get as you go along, youll never know when you might have an upgrade in ur backpack!

aeon gear from novus is great! its the only set i've ever really farmed (bc i got stuck in wallaru lol)

the latest (170) tier of hat/robes/boots/wands isnt out yet, but wallaru does have upgrades for everything else! i havent spent much time going for them, but here's a guide

hi, i was wondering will the game be proofread/edited for the full release? you post a lot of screenshots that havent had the text proofread, and a lot of vn creators dont end up having their stuff edited so i just wanted to make sure!

I would like that yes. Most screenshots end up being posted pretty much immediately after the artwork is coded in so they do get caught fairly quickly. But I do want to point out though that, the game is made pretty much entirely by myself and I'm also disabled. The "team" so to speak is just me and my family lol. So hiring outside help and getting commissions is entirely on my hands as well.

Most (E)VN creators are in a very similar position, they're working solo or have very small teams. They might be very very young or are students. There's quite a few who don't speak English natively and are doing the translation work themself as well. And a lot of devs just don't have the funds to hire anyone to help.

I'm in a good enough position right now that I can afford to hire people to help me out of pocket. Maybe not all at once lol, but I can do it. But not all VN creators are able to do that at all.

It seems like a bare minimum thing, I know, but it's something that people should keep in mind. Not that I think people should just, lower their standards entirely lol, but I do feel a need to defend my fellow creators since I've been watching the community for years at this point. Theres often a lot of circumstances that come up that end up contributing. the EVN scene is entirely composed of indies from all sorts of backgrounds and all ages.

This here is more for me, but I wanna finally throw out I guess a description of my world/story line.

All the animatronics, cept Sun/Moon have a fur covering, Monty has a synthetic scale covering. Padding is added all over for a more, lifelike feeling with hugs (think kinda like taxidermy with a robot in it). Sun/Moon are the same as in the game, plus padding on thighs for cuddles.

Height is somewhat non canon. Mostly cause I want (read need) Sun/Moon to be 10ft tall. Freddy is 7ft, Monty 7ft 2in, Roxy 6ft 8in, Chica is shortest at 6ft. DJMM is canon, Theo is 5ft 8in. Raylie full grown will be 5ft 3in, with her prosthetic and specialized boot 5ft 7in. Though DJMM might end up with a 20 ft anthro/humanized body he can switch to, inspired by all the humanized DJMM art an stories. (In truth I feel so bad for him, poor guy cant leave the dance floor WTF) Lil Music Man is canon sized

Still not sure about adding in Vanny/Gregory and Pizzaplex burning, but I'm reading a story where it didn't burn but Vanny still happened so idk yet. Moon will be having some dark glitches cause everyone still fears him. It's a critical point to both stories

Still unsure about sex scenes cause Theo is mostly asexual. By mostly, I mean he does get cravings once in a while, but mostly he just doesn't care about having sex. Prefers affections over sex. So I'm trying to to leave it open for smut.

There will be suicide attempts, p!ll popping, self h@rm, fighting, and blood. I really do want to add myself into these OCs cause *breathes deeply* I still fight active self harm myself. I cant cut myself anymore cause then my hubby will know, but i still find other options which will be put into these stories. No drugs other than pills but maybe some green.

Ages: Theo is 27, 42 in Raylie's story. Raylie will be a small cub, just 3 in Theo's BUT in her story, she will be 18. I will not do underage romances, I learned my own personal lesson on that.

Health: Theo will be hypoglycemic, which is diabetes, but instead of high blood sugar levels, he gets low blood sugar levels. I personally have this issue, but I dont want Raylie to have it so, sorry Theo. Basically u still get the shakes and such, but if it gets to low Theo(me) has issues with passing out or becoming immobile with slurred and stuttered speech. Which will come into the story as well. Raylie as a tot has no medical issues. But 18 yrs Raylie will have a prosthetic leg, I'm not going into detail on it as it's a major thing in the story. But I ain't gonna lie, it was inspired by Fullmetal Alchemist /Brotherhood. I always wanted to have something like Ed's metal arm or leg (I totally would preform human transmutation if I had to just to get automail)

Though I'm still kinda worried that Raylies story will look like there's grooming. But I assure u, its NOT intentional. Raylie may have grown up in the Pizzaplex, but she still has freedom to leave, go to school, yadda yadda.

From a word count website, I have about 2K words on Theos story and about 1600 for Raylies first chapter.

All in all, it's still a very long WIP an I have no end date yet, havent even thought of it yet. But I am happy to say, this fandom and its lore is helping me out tremendously. I've backed off almost completely of my self harm and instead throwing myself into figuring out this captivating world for my kids Theo and Raylie. I feel like I've been working on this for weeks and just one day all at the same time. But its only been a few days.

Ahhh, mental shifting.

Lets talk a bit about it shall we?

Mental shifting has had this sort of idea that it isnt important, but it can be very, very important.

It slows down the ones who believe that they have to rush shifting, stop the ones who are trying to escape their reality or home life by giving them false hope. (EDIT: I mean stop those who are trying to escape their reality because they have the false hope that they can physically shift out of their situation.)

Another reason why people should mental shift is well - it gives clarity and insight. A place to start. It allows people to critically think, have trial and error, and most of all breathe.

Personally for me it made me SO MUCH more confortable with myself, and my animal side. It allowed me to deeply think and understand if i am REALLY a cougar or not.

Also, it shouldnt be something to skip over either. Theres this idea that mentally shifting isnt needed, but to those who havent been allowed to show themselves and their animal need to mentally shift. I needed to mentally shift, it gave me a period of time to learn a lot of life lessons, and most importantly... allow myself to be free from human restraints. Some people dont need to, and thats okay! Some people may already be mentally shifted from a young age of doing it.

Everyone is valid!

Mental shifting isnt a different mindset either. (thats misinformation!) Of course, everyone's experience is completely different, but as far as most of us know the animal is us and we are the animal. You are allowing your animal to be present in your life when you mentally shift, you are learning of who you are when you mentally shift.

Thats why people m-shift.

We arent born with the knowledge most of the time, and after supressing ourselves we can forget the knowledge of who we are. Plus, many people may be afraid of their other side. It helps even if you arent afraid to know what your animal is like and to gain clarity.

From what ive seen, a lot has changed from when this person has posted. I think this is a dead account, but please know that skipping the mental shifting phase can be dangerous to both you and your mental health. Even if you dont believe in it, give yourself a break between awakening and physically shifting. Even after 3 years of shifting im still learning more and understanding who I am better and better.

Everyone, please use more than one source to make a conclusion about something!

Werewolves

There’s only one type of werewolf. That is to say, while breeds do exist, there’s no such thing as “lycans”, or any of that. They’re not separate things- a lycanthrope is another word for a werewolf, and vice versa.  Nor do werewolves live as the stereotype suggests. No one loses control on a full moon, goes raging out and destroying houses and buildings, nor is their wolf side a separate part of them.  Additionally, mental shifting is a concept that has been popularized in other communities, but isn’t really relevant to being a were or a shifter. If you are both a wolf and human, or able to switch between the two forms, why would you need a separate mindset for both? How do you know what a wolf thinks like, if you’re not a wolf at the time?  This is not to say that trying out other kinds of shifts can’t help you. But, if you are a were of any sort, the best kind of shift to try out is a physical shift, because mental shifting won’t really do much for you, and/or lead to a physical shift anyway. you guys remember that one post i made abt an amphibia spidey au? well heres what ive got so far

(referenced amphibia spoilers, also ig spoilers? in case i actually make this a thing? which i doubt but who knows)

semi-canon divergent where they dont get sent to amphibia, but all of the amphibia characters are human. also slightly aged up by a year or two

some sort of sashannarcy will happen i will make sure of it

these events take place over the course of a couple years, this doesnt happen all at once

marcy is an intern of dr. andrias “andy” leviathan, who is the head of some big science corporation. they met when marcy wandered away from the group on a school field trip and they hit it off well. dr andy made them his intern once they were old enough (age 15/16)

marcy still gets the news that theyre moving away, but this time he ends up running to dr. andy and venting to him.

on an unrelated note (/s), those moving plans end up falling through bc of a tragic accident w marcys parents (~ age 14)

marcy gets taken in by dr andrias (by this point ally has moved out and is in college. she wouldve took marcy in but she couldnt afford it at the time :(). they bond a lot more and andrias basically becomes marcy's main father figure

flash forward a bit, where marcy is helping dr andrias out with a project involving messing around with spider genetics and stuff like that. thing is, marcys still clumsy as hell, and he accidentally releases a bunch of the spiders. they try to contain them all but one of them sneaks out in marcys jacket (~ age 16)

it eventually makes its way to anne and bites her, and them boom, spider anne (~16/17)

she goes to sprig and polly for help (smth in her says not to go to marcy…) and they help her out with suit designing. theres a bunch of failed trial runs and they actually get help from ally and jess at one point (anonymously) and soon enough annes on her way to being a full fledged spider person

cut back to marcy, who’s been hearing news abt some spider-person vigilante or whatever and freaking out bc hOLY SHIT WE HAVE A LOCAL SUPER HERO?!?!??!! coincidentally, he finds out that his grip is rly strong? and their vision just got ten times better? and wait a minute i haVE FANGS?!?!?! and they figure out holy shit i have spider powers too?!?!?

so marcy quickly gets to work making their own spider gear. he decides not to tell anyone despite his excitement, and they dont rly need to tell anyone bc hes got all the resources to make a suit (dr andy’s lab) and the knowledge.

the two spideys end up running into each other a lot on patrol (which may or may not have been orchestrated by marcy). theres a bit of animosity at first but eventually they decide to team up whenever theyre together. however they decide not to tell each other their identities

i have not watched miraculous lady bug but based on what ive heard anne n marce have a similar dynamic. neither of them know the other is a spidey, so theres a ton of dancing around each other bc of it. also theyre gay so yeah

meanwhile andrias is observing from a far watching his experiments play out. turns out marcys powers DIDNT come from a spider bite. nah, andrias had been secretly experimenting on them, combining their dna with spider dna. kinda like a spider man 2099 type thing but not rly bc i dont actually know his lore

he’d been prepping marcy to become the ideal host for the symbiote hes been harboring. it claims to be the best of the best sent by their people to check out other worlds, and decided to have andrias work for it. (havent decided whether to call it the night or the core yet)

they work together bc andrias has access to a bunch of resources bc yk hes some big science ceo guy type thing. the symbiote doesnt just want some normal human bc we’re boring and squishy. so it has andrias do research on gene splicing and combining the dna of humans and various other species. which means that theres more than just radioactive spiders in andrias’s labs

andrias probably goes through some arc abt wanting to be the host for the symbiote but it doesnt want him. still not quite sure yet, but he goes through some villain phase that’s a combo of a bunch of spidey’s villains (lizard/doc oc/green goblin/etc) and he goes on a rampage after being denied by the symbiote. he almost gets captured and defeated by the spideys but hes slippery so he escapes

eventually they capture marcy and put the symbiote in him (he goes missing for a while bc they got stuck in the pickle jar). shit goes down w host marcy going on a rampage and anne trying to stop them and her maybe finding out abt marcys identity but i havent gotten there yet shhh

theres probably a whole arc with marcy running off and dealing with the symbiote, but eventually they work out some sort of arrangement and marcy gets back most control over himself

no i did not forget abt sasha, shes just not as fleshed out as the others

her parents are the heads of a sort of rival company to andrias’s and theyre kind of assholes. like theres a lot to them theyre not terrible parents to sasha exactly but theyre def not good people and they treat their workers like shit

sashas actually super good with tech in this au btw, and at some point she finds out abt some super secret project her parents are working on thats rly horrible and needs to be stopped. he tries undoing it from the inside at first but it fails horribly and gets her in huge trouble with his parents. (~16/17)

she ends up running off and finding this gang that agrees to let her join and take down the corporation. sasha becomes a leader-type figure among them, plus she helps out with creating weapons

eventually he tries recruiting anne into her cause, not knowing that shes one of the spideys and doesnt rly condone their cause (neither wanna get marcy involved). the two have some whole arc kinda like the miles morales ps5 game. HOWEVER unlike the game sash lives but like barely. he spends a long time in the hospital and maybe also serves jail time im not sure yet

this all happens a bit before host marcy is a thing, or maybe while marcys missing in the pickle jar.

she eventually becomes a vigilante type figure and teams up with the spideys sometimes. the authorities know abt sashas identity but he doesnt let them catch her

anne (she/her):

inspo: “classic” spider-man type deal with a bit of miles morales

general spider powers: wall climbing, heightened senses + reflexes + agility, spider sense, super healing, super strength

extras: miles-type venom blast (kinda like her calamity powers in a sense); has spinnerets in wrists so she can make her own webs; more “power” based fighting style

mainly relies on polly (and ally & jess sometimes) for help with gadgets and stuff like that. polly’s a smart kid

hop pop almost dies on her watch, and it becomes her “great power great responsibility” moment

practices her quips with sprig.

marcy (they/he):

inspo: spider-man 2099 and mcu-ish spider-man ?? plus venom spider-man from the trilogy but he never got it out

general spider powers (see above) with some exceptions

Does not have spider sense. or at least it seems like but its just rly weak. also cannot make his own webs, so he made web shooters

slightly higher resilience/healing ablities

extras: miles-type camouflage/invisibility powers; FANGS THEY HAVE FANGS and they can inject a paralyzing non toxic venom :3; has super vision, but in the sense that its very heightened and they can see a LOT better than a normal human. so like night vision, and they can see a lot farther than normal (makes up for the spider sense sort of); more “gadget” based fighting style

(debating this) can communicate telepathically with others, acts as some form of an extension of their spider sense

had to wear sunglasses a lot once the heightened vision started kicking in bc they were rly sensitive to light

while the fangs were rly cool at first, they actually make it kinda hard for marcy to talk normally and theyre hard to hide. he tries wearing a face mask for a bit but they still struggle speaking normally at times

sasha (she/he):

inspo: phin mason (miles morales ps5) plus a bit of harry osborn(?)

no “powers” powers, but is an amazing strategist, pretty strong (by “normal” standards), and great w tech

dont wanna say her smarts are quite on marcys level, but shes up there. in school tho she barely puts effort into the work. also, tech/engineering is the main field he’s good in, everything else (language arts, history, etc) shes just around average

p much the same types of gadgets as the tinkerer in mm ps5, programmable matter gear (computerized nanomaterial that can reform into a bunch of different weapons)

im honestly not sure yet abt sash i’ll probably change stuff abt her soon. tho i rly liked the thought of her wielding smth like the tinkerer’s sword
