My fellow bitches under 5'5. Whatever the money, do not take a job working at a middle school. A fellow adult tried to put me in detention last month and would NOT give up until I showed her my badge proving Yes, The School Hired Me To Work Here. It's not meant for people our height.
#personal#back to work tomorrow prepare thyself#i have had other adults try to take my phone away ask if I have a tardy pass the aforementioned detention incident-#THE LIST GOES ON#i usually get an apology after they realize im twenty fucking six but sometimes im like#....if you need to apologize this profusely for talking to me like that when you realized i wasn't a student#maybe you shouldn't be talking to the students like that either?#i get it they're irritating as hell but like. as soon as you realized i could report you for yelling at me the way u just did#u HELLA backtracked.#maybe some self reflection is in order?

A few notes about Realm SMP:
Tubbo hopes to have an event every week and ideally thinks this would be a 6 month server
There's a "level up" system but it will be tailored so people won't be left behind if they can't log in much
Armor and Combat is DND inspired, but it's not 100% accurate to DND
Tubbo looked at the 5 main MCYT communities he's been in / watched and that's the "pool" he chose people from
There's no plans for an in-game translator because it's expensive and also Tubbo "doesn't want to step on Quackity's toes" :(
Tubbo says he doesn't have a lot of Spanish-speaking streamers on his Discord friend list so there was a limit to how many people he could message, but he wants to add more people (he has 5 planned already)
Lore is dependent on what the people on the server do, he likes more freestyle flowing RP
There's no big team behind the server, it's just Tubbo and Tango helping him with some things he might not understand (however, he has a team he wants to use for the New Year Event he has in mind). He may look into getting some admins to help enforce rules
He made it so players can play Realm SMP with default Minecraft, he doesn't want to overwhelm people with too many mod downloads.
There is NO mod pack! Realm SMP is vanilla, it's just custom texture packs and plugins.
Tubbo says he's been overwhelmed by the amount of support it's received so far, but he's a bit nervous too
He says he doesn't have Missa added on Discord but he tried to contact him (?)
No set classes, but people can specify their skill points to unlock certain things on skill trees and build their own classes
There IS a life system (😰) but it's a bit different. There's 3 lives — if you die 3 times you're out, but it's only semi-hardcore because when you die, your stats are set to 0 and you're in spectator-mode, but players can craft an item to bring you back at 1 life and you get all your stats back.
There's no "downing" system, if you die you did, you can't be picked back up like on QSMP
No "keep inventory" on death
There's no limit to the amount of times you can be resurrected (thank god) Tubbo says it would kinda suck otherwise because then people would just get banned off the server at some point after dying x amount of times
The Nether IS enabled, the End isn't enabled yet because Tubbo wants to make a cool custom boss fight.
There will be proximity chat
Etoiles (in chat) asked about armor and Tubbo tells him he'a really glad Etoiles agreed to join, even though he wasn't planning on doing much Minecraft stuff anymore
Streamers can play off-stream
Tubbo says he has a "Badboyhalo Contingency Force" (it's Tubbo and Tango)
Tubbo says the Realm SMP concept came to him in a dream
Mob strength will scale as players "level up"
Deaths to a bug or glitch don't count, but all othet deaths will
Events won't be all PVP-based because he wants people to enjoy the events even if they aren't a huge Minecraft player
Two banned items: mending books and elytra, which will be tied to future events
Tubbo says he's happy to do anything himself, but if anyone really wants to be an admin, it'd be voluntary like a Twitch mod kind of deal since it's just him and Tango. (He already has a team of people he goes to for admin stuff, it wouldn't be random people being admins)
In the hour before the server launches, he'll be showing off server features
He reminded people in the player Discord it's just for fun, the life system isn't meant to be competitive and he doesn't want sweats to be dicks about it since not every player is a big Minecraft player
He has a 6 month timeframe in mind but it'll last as long as people want to play, if it fizzles out in a month then it fizzles out in a month, it lasts as long as people play it.
There will be NPCs "When he gets them sorted" but he's a one-man army doing everything
He reminds people to "manage their expectations" because he's only one guy – he can't do events like Purgatory like Quackity because he doesn't have a massive team like he did.
He says if his merch stuff goes well then maybe he can get 1 or 2 people to help with the Realm project
Tubbo is still answering Q&A stuff on stream right now, but these are the biggest things he's said so far!
#i talk#Realm talk#Streamer Talk#He's doing a Q&A right now#May add more later but these are just what he's said so far#Not surprised about the admin thing tbh since it's not a huge project like QSMP or Arkanis#It's just a server with friends#Absolutely ridiculous that the idea of having a translator in game would be ''stepping on Quackity's toes''#But Pac did get harassed to hell and back by some freaks for having an in-game translator for 1 day#sighs#long post#Also sorry for any mistakes I wrote this on my phone

Happy tdov to fat trans people. 🏳️⚧️ Biggest thing that helped me as a trans kid was seeing older fat trans people. There were a lot of really irritating "advice" posts going around early in my time on the internet with a lot of misinformation in them, but one that I constantly saw (in addition to people claiming you should wear your pants rediculously low or only wear button ups) were posts saying you had to lose weight to transition. Can confidently confirm that is completely untrue. 👍
#seal.txt#tdov#that 'sky and mike' image of the two old trans dudes hugging was one that I had saved to my phone as a trans teen#and i would look at it sometimes and just wonder how they had made it#idk its just nice knowing we live that long and its not a requirement to be skinnyin order to be respected and loved and get old#some of the old 'advice' posts i saw were really completely bizarre and a lot of them stick with me to this day in insecurities#this would have been 2016 ish tumblr so i know not that long ago but i would have been around 13 for reference#weird that i remember so many of the things i read back then. i could probably fill a post with things i was misinformed on due to Tumblr#specifically tumblrs run by people that i didnt really have the knowledge or awareness to understand probably didnt have my best interests#like 'trans rights ' blogs i would follow and not notice until much later were quite the opposite#this is the consequence of viewing social media before i knew all the secret codewords and my brain was much less developed than it is now

can we talk about how the weirdest part of staticmoth isn't even the fact that they're toxic to each other?
it's how they both react to each other's toxicity with nonchalance.
like. first, during val's tantrum, val throws a glass at vox, or well, in his vicinity.
then vox just... steps away like it's nobody's business, barely bothered by it.
and later, when it's vox's turn to be angry, he roughly pulls val down, shakes him, and shouts at his face.
then val just... shrugs it off.
usually when you think of a toxic relationship, you'd probably think of person A being toxic to person B then person B biting back just as toxic until it's a back and forth of toxicity, a full-blown fight.
but that. that's not staticmoth. staticmoth is fucking weird in that when one is acting toxic towards the other, the other acts nonchalant and doesn't retaliate. then they switch roles on who the toxic one is and who the nonchalant one is.
I am not at all denying the toxicity in their relationship, but they certainly are a really fucking weird brand of toxic that is just. so hard to describe.
#osrs.txt#what the fuck is wrong with them (millions of things)#staticmoth#voxval#I didn't want to put too many examples in here but there's also val throwing and breaking vox's phone#where vox just looks annoyed but otherwise does not retaliate or bite back#then there's vox trying to get val's attention cause he wasn't listening to him#and he does the first instance of pulling him down roughly and shouting at his face#to which val just stares into blank space LMAO and also does not retaliate to this#not really sure how to classify their respective manipulations in this since... it's manipulation and not outright aggression#lmk what to tag here cause I have no fucking clue#tw domestic violence#???#hazbin vox#hazbin hotel vox#vox#vox hazbin#vox hazbin hotel#hazbin valentino#hazbin hotel valentino#valentino#valentino hazbin#valentino hazbin hotel#hazbin hotel#couldn't find all the gifs I wanted so I made them myself LMAO

Sweatpants
Steve Harrington x Reader
Synpopsis: Steve wears sweatpants and you have to show your appreciation
Contents: mentioned possibility of an exhibition kink, oral (male receiving)
18+ only
This was written because of that pic but apparently a lot of u have not seen the pic which is crazy cause it was all over my dash)
You can't stop your jaw from dropping. You would think to but your brain is suddenly gone because of the sight before you.
Steve Harrington, your lovely, sweet, amazing boyfriend, has just walked in carrying groceries. Said he had to drive Robin to work and was gonna pick up some things to prepare for the upcoming snow storm.
He should have called and told you to prepare. A fire in your gut was burning. A steady thrum spreading throughout your body. Your mouth was simultaneously salivating over him and dry wishing he'd kiss and lick into your mouth.
Steve Harrington was bundled up, that stupid scarf you made wrong that he refused to get rid of ("it's a labor of your love!") even though you made him a better one, was wrapped around the lower half of his face. His nose was a dusty red from the chilly wind outside. He had a beanie on that had a light dusting of snow, the same snow that fluttered on his lashes as he blinked.
His jacket looked too tight because he had a sweatshirt underneath. You knew Steve had another shirt under that, barely seeing the hem peeking out. The bottoms of his pants were tucked into snow boots, where you knew he had thrown on wool socks.
All of that was fine. It was his pants that were the issue. Grey sweatpants, that clung to his perfect ass. Grey sweatpants that did nothing to hide the length of him. Steve wasn't even hard and he was big.
A burst of jealousy runs through you at the thought that anyone could have seen him. That jealousy quickly turns to desire because anyone could have seen but only you could touch. You sort of wish you had gone with him now, only to see the longing looks on other's faces (and you don't really wanna think about what that means for you).
You stand causing the chair at the table to squeak against the hardwood floor. The mittens you were working on for Steve all but forgotten. You can hear Steve speaking but it is not being processed by your brain.
All you can think is how good his voice sounds. How good he looks. How hot.
Steve turns around and jumps back, not expecting to find you in his space. Steve glares," What the fu-Jesus, warn a guy next time!" "Sorry," you look him up and down, tone, conveying you very much are not sorry.
"Upside down ain't gonna kill me, you're gonna give me a heart attack," Steve rolls his eyes dramatically, but you can see the corners wrinkle from his smile that is still hidden beneath the scarf. His hand reaches out, knocking against yours almost subconsciously.
You wanted to say something intelligent, maybe tease him and see him blush and get flustered, but your brain stopped communicating with your tongue.
"Fuck me." You all but whine, biting your lip. Steve's eyes widen slightly. Before he can say anything, you drop to your knees.
"Whoa Ba-" Steve cuts off with a strangled sound as you grab onto his hips and pull him towards you. You kiss the tip of his length before licking the sweats. Your saliva turns the grey darker. Steve lets out a low moan, hand finding your hair.
You continue to lick and leave open mouth kisses all over his hardening length. It was impressive before but now? You fidget slightly, thinking about it being in you.
You hear a thud and a hiss, pulling back to look up at Steve holding a hand to the back of his head. You know Steve threw his head back in pleasure and hit his head against the cupboard.
"Be careful about your head, dont need another concussion," You frown up at him. He peers down at you, eyes full of lust," Not the head I'm worried about." His voice sounds low and gravelly. His face is flushed, even his ears have turned a bit pink. He's looking at you like he wants to swallow you whole.
You yank down the sweatpants and boxers, Steve shimmying away from the countertop to help. His erection springs up, almost hitting you in the face (and damn isnt that a thought). Its curved slightly, precum leaking at the tip. He's flushed a nice red, two small freckles on the base close to his balls.
You spit in your hand and firmly grasp him, causing him to groan. You move your hand steadily up and down him. You love how soft his skin is that contrasts with how hard he is.
You lick his slit, letting the salty taste of Steve coat your tongue. Steve moans and his dick twitches in your hand. You lick again, swirling around his flushed head.
"Not gonna- fuck, not gonna last long," Steve whines, flustered above you. You haven't even done much, and either you're really really good at this (you are) or Steve has been horny for a bit longer then normal today (you wonder if he wanted to be seen as you remember those jeans he used to wear) You slowly wrap your lips around him, sucking lightly. You moan, moving your mouth up and down in tandem with your hand.
It isn't long, maybe a minute. All it takes for him to come undone is for you to peer up at him and meet his eyes. Steve comes with a shout, his leg kicking out slightly as he grips the countertop to stay standing. You swallow it all, everything he would give you.
When Steve starts to whimper is when you let go of him. He falls from your mouth with a pop. You look up at him, lips slightly swollen. Steve is panting, face flushed.
Steve slowly slides down against the counter, legs going to either side of you. He grabs your arms and tugs you into him, pulling you chest to chest. Steve kisses you lightly before pulling back," I think i just blacked out, holy shit."
You giggle before kissing him again. Steve sighs into the kiss, hands running up and down your arms, to your back, to your ass. You pull away to take a breathe and Steve smirks up at you," I should wear these more often huh?"
#Steve wasn't expecting this to occur in the kitchen but he thought maybe it could get you going#It definitely worked out in his favor#Anyways uh have this and don't perceive me thanks#I saw that image and my mouth dropped and I had to set my phone down and stare into space for a bit#He had to have known right like he HAD to right (I stg i want to fight him)(or kiss)#Anyways I'm going to go back and finish my other WIPs#Stranger Things#steve harrington x reader#steve harrington x you#Steve Harrington x y/n#Steve Harrington/reader#Steve Harrington/you#Steve Harrington smut#Jade is Talking

the thing about Irondad is that i can make reality whatever i want and what i want is Tony being a cringe failure when it comes to the parenting side of things and Peter simultaneously being like "yeah he is a fucking loser" and "he's super smart though and learning from him has been awesome" and "but if he would be my dad that'd be cool." like Peter is an unreliable and a biased narrator at the same time so he thinks Tony is cool but in my eyes I know what he is. Tony is actually like "i would die for this kid" but having an emotional conversation feels like he's been asked to drag his bare ass across hot coals. he doesn't even know where to begin to accomplish that task. which is why Peter says things like "oh he doesn't say a lot of things to me about how he feels but i can read between the lines" and in his mind Tony says things that mean another thing but never are *quite* that thing. usually jokes that talk about what he means without having to say it or be vulnerable. in his POV he's freaking out that Peter is missing to the point of being physically ill about it, yet Peter couldn't imagine it's that bad or because losing *him* is the cause of that problem. that's how Irondad really is, and i can make it better because canon is my bitch now
#iron dad#tony stark#because enough with tony being emotionally vulnerable in fics#who is that man#let's be very honest here#that man was good to morgan because he had the time to learn#he got HIMSELF stuck in that teenager phase with peter (we're talking about canon)#tony isn't a great dad#but he has the POTENTIAL to get there#they're slightly better in LoF because they went through a whole different phase#peter was dropping ironman in dumpsters and then calling tony stark a bitch to his face#and tony was intrigued#and called him a snot nosed brat right back#let peter bully tony actually#there needs to be more of that energy right back#put them on equal footing#peter parker#my phone keeps vibrating at me for no reason while i type this so im a little distracted#phone people who know phones why is my phone vibrating at me there's no incoming notifs and i dont have vibrate on#i can not afford a new phone rn#ill die

One of my first digital pieces (2010) versus one of my recent ones (2024)
We all start somewhere!
#picked these cause they're in a similar pose lol. i mean not at all. but sort of... more than my other art at least...#oh fuck im so tired im saving this to drafts and coming back later#my anxiety meds wipe me the fuck out so im trying not to take them in the day#and they're like legit borderline a sleeping med for me. i take one and in 30 mins im OUT.#so I'm. i mean i was already only taking 1-2 in the day and then 2-3 at night#anyways it makes me sad when people say they dont have an artistic bone in their body#and especially when they say they could never draw like me :(#dont put yourself down to lift me up! i don't want my art to be used for you to be mean to yourself!!!#lots of experiences of people comparing themselves to me and being mean to themself...#feels bad. it's okay if you're slow it's okay to be learning it's okay!!!#I'm me and you're you and we're here to learn from each other. i just wanna hang out..#y'know what I'm just gonna post without saying anything i WILL forget I made a draft#i have so many things i intend to post and then forget#it's a wonder I post anything#i only do it when i get bored. and run out of stuff to scroll through#like whelp. guess if i want a post I have to make one myself.#also the second one is really good idc that it's a study i still drew it#art growth#this was in 2010 btw#i started highschool in 2011#I've grown a lot and you can too.#also I've never really been one to dislike my old art. like idk I was trying... if it's bad I just won't look at it whatever#like i wouldn't be mean to someone else who made that so i don't get a free pass to be mean just cause it's to me#man my thoughts are bungled. okay sleep time#if my phone made typos you didn't see it

patience being tested. being forced by a bizarre unfortunate situation to adhere to university requirement technicality by taking this simple basic elementary "introduction to environmental history" class.
this class is from facilitators/program which do, like, "history of the American frontier" or "history of fishing and hunting" and still basically subscribe to that old-school twentieth-century idealization and celebration of characters like Teddy Roosevelt and reverence for a mythical arc-of-history-bent-towards-justice narrative of the often-clumsy but ultimately-benevolent US federal government and its mission to "save nature" through the miracle of "sustained yield," while heroic federal land management agencies and "heritage" institutions lead to way, staffed by exceptional individuals (appeals to nostalgia for the frontier and an imagined landscape of the American West; ego-stroking appeals to flattering self-image that center the environmentalist or academic). where they invoke, y'know, ideas like "ecology is important because don't you enjoy cross-country skiing in The Woods with your niece and nephew? don't you like hunting and fishing?" which makes it feel like a time capsule of appeals and discourses from the 1970s. and it invokes concept of "untouched wilderness" (while eliding scale of historical Indigenous environmental relationships and current ongoing colonial violence/extractivism). but just ever-so-slightly updated with a little bit of chic twenty-first-century flair like a superficial land acknowledgement or a reference to "labor histories" or "history from below," which is extra aggravating when the old ideologies/institutions are still in power but they're muddying the water and diluting the language/frameworks (it's been strange, watching words like "multispecies" and "Anthropocene" over the years slowly but surely show-up on the posters, fliers, course descriptions, by now even appearing adjacent to the agri-business and resource extraction feeder programs, like a recuperation or appropriation.) even from a humanities angle, it's still, they're talking at me like "You probably didn't know this, but environmental history is actually pretty entangled with political and social events. In fact, we can synthesize sources and glean environmental info from wacky places like workers' rolls in factories, ship's logs, and poetry from the era." and i'm nodding like YEP.
the first homework assignment is respond to this: "Define and describe 'the Anthropocene'. Do you think 'the Anthropocene' is a useful concept? Why or why not?" Respond in 300 words.
so for fun, right now in class, going to see how fast i can pull up discussion of Anthropocene-as-concept solely from my old posts on this microblogging site.

I think that the danger in any universal narrative or epoch or principle is exactly that it can itself become a colonizing force. [...] I’m suspicious of the Anthropocene as concept for the very reason that it subsumes so many peoples, nations, histories, geographies, political orders. For that reason, I think ideas like the Anthropocene can be a useful short-hand for a cluster of tangible things going on with the Earth at the moment, but we have to be very careful about how fluid and dynamic ideas become concretized into hegemonic principles in the hands of researchers, policymakers, and politicians. There’s so much diversity in histories and experiences and environmental realities even between relatively linked geographies here in Canada [...]. Imagine what happens when we try to do that on a global scale - and a lot of euro-western Anthropocene, climate change and resilience research risks doing that - eliding local specificities and appropriating knowledge to serve a broader euro-western narrative without attending to the inherent colonial and imperial realities of science and policy processes, or even attending to the ways that colonial capitalist expansion has created these environmental crises to begin with. While we, as a collective humanity, are struggling with the realities of the Anthropocene, it is dangerous to erase the specific histories, power-relations, political orders that created the crisis to begin with. So, I’m glad that a robust critique of the Anthropocene as a concept is emerging.

The Great Acceleration is the latest in a series of human-driven planetary changes that constitute what a rising chorus of scientists, social scientists, and humanists have labeled the Anthropocene - a new Age of Humans. [...] But what the Anthropocene label masks, and what the litany of graphs documenting the Great Acceleration hide, is a history of racial oppression and violence, along with wealth inequality, that has built and sustained engines of economic growth and consumption over the last four centuries. [...] The plantation, Sidney Mintz long ago observed, was a “synthesis of field and factory,” an agro-industrial system of enterprise [...]. Plantation legacies, along with accompanying strategies of survival and resistance, dwell in the racialized geographies of the United States’ and Brazil’s prison systems. They surface in the inequitable toxic burdens experienced by impoverished communities of color in places like Cancer Alley, an industrial corridor of petrochemical plants running along the Mississippi River from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, where cotton was once king. And they appear in patterns of foreign direct investment and debt servitude that structure many land deals in the Caribbean, Brazil, and sub-Saharan Africa [...]. [C]limatologists and global change scientists from the University of London, propose instead 1610 as a date for the golden spike of the Anthropocene. The date marked a detectable global dip in carbon dioxide concentrations, precipitated, they argue, by the death of nearly 50 million indigenous human inhabitants [...]. The degradation of soils in the tobacco and cotton-growing regions in the American South, or in the sugarcane growing fields of many Caribbean islands, for example, was a consequence of an economic and social system that inflicted violence upon the land and the people enslaved to work it. Such violent histories are not so readily evident in genealogies that date the Anthropocene’s emergence to the Neolithic Revolution 12,000 years ago, the onset of Europe’s industrial revolution circa 1800, or the Trinity nuclear test of 1945. Sugarcane plantations were already prevalent throughout the Mediterranean basin during the late middle ages. But it was during the early modern era, and specifically in the Caribbean, where the intersection of emerging proto-capitalist economic models based on migratory forced labor (first indentured servitude, and later slavery), intensive land usage, globalized commerce, and colonial regimes sustained on the basis of relentless racialized violence, gave rise to the transformative models of plantations that reshaped the lives and livelihoods of human and non-human beings on a planetary scale. [...] We might, following the lead of science studies scholar Donna Haraway and anthropologist Anna Tsing, more aptly designate this era the Plantationocene. [...] It is also an invitation to see, in the words of geographer Laura Pulido, “the Anthropocene as a racial process,” one that has and will continue to produce “racially uneven vulnerability and death." [...] And how have such material transformations sustained global flows of knowledge and capital that continue to reproduce the plantation in enduring ways?

Geologists and other scientists will fight over [the definition of the beginning start-date of the Anthropocene] in scientific language, seeking traces of carbon dioxide that index the worst offenses of European empire which rent and violated the flesh, bodies, and governance structures of Indigenous and other sovereign peoples in the name of gold, lumber, trade, land, and power. [...] The stories we tell about the origins of the Anthropocene implicate how we understand the relations we have with our surrounds. In other words, the naming of the Anthropocene epoch and its start date have implications not just for how we understand the world, but this understanding will have material consequences, consequences that affect body and land.

From Aime and Suzanne Cesaire, C. L. R. James, Claudia Jones, Eduoard Glissant, through Sylvia Wynter, Christina Sharpe, and so many others, critical anticolonial and race theory has been written from the specific histories that marked the Black Atlantic. [...] Glissant also reminds us, secondly, of how cunning the absorptive powers of [...] liberal capitalism are - how quickly specific relations are remade as relations-erasing universal abstractions. [...] This absorptive, relations-erasing universalism is especially apparent in some contemporary discourses of […] liberalism and climate collapse - what some call the Anthropocene - especially those that anchor the crisis in a general Human calamity which, as Sylvia Wynter has noted, is merely the name of an overdetermined and specific [White] European man. […] [T]he condition of creating this new common European world was the destruction of a multitude of existing black and brown worlds. The tsunami of colonialism was not seen as affecting humanity, but [...] these specific people. They were specific - what happened to them may have been necessary, regrettable, intentional, accidental - but it is always them. It is only when these ancestral histories became present for some, for those who had long benefitted from the dispossession [...], that suddenly the problem is all of us, as human catastrophe.

The narrative arc [of White "liberal humanism"] [...] is often told as a kind of European coming-of-age story. […] The Anthropocene discourse follows the same coming-of-age [...] script, searching for a material origin story that would explain the newly identified trajectory of the Anthropos […]. Sylvia Wynter, W.E.B. DuBois, and Achille Mbembe all showed how that genealogy of [White subjecthood] was [...] articulated through sixteenth- through nineteenth-century [historiographies and discourses] in the context of colonialism, [...] as well as forming the material praxis of their rearrangement (through mining, ecological rearrangements and extractions, and forms of geologic displacements such as plantations, dams, fertilizers, crops, and introduction of “alien” animals). […] As Wynter (2000) commented, “The degradation of concrete humans, that was/is the price of empire, of the kind of [Eurocentric epistemology] that underlies it” (154).

As Yarimar Bonilla suggests in regard to post-Irma-and-Maria Puerto Rico, “vulnerability is not simply a product of natural conditions; it is a political state and a colonial condition.” Many in the Caribbean therefore speak about the coloniality of disaster, and the unnaturalness of these “natural” disasters [...]. Others describe this temporality by shifting [...] toward an idea of the Plantationocene [...]. As Moore and her colleagues write, “Plantation worlds, both past and present, offer a powerful reminder that environmental problems cannot be decoupled from histories of colonialism, capitalism, and racism that have made some human beings more vulnerable [...].” [W]e see that contemporary uneven socioecologies associated with the rise of the industrial world ["the Anthropocene"] are based [...] also on the racialized denial and foreshortening of life for the sacrificial majority of black, brown, and Indigenous people and their relegation to the “sacrifice zones” of extractive industry. [...] [A]ny appropriate response to the contemporary climate emergency must first appreciate its foundations in the past history of the violent, coercive, transatlantic system of plantation slavery; in the present global uneven development, antiblackness, and border regimes that shape human vulnerability [...] that continues to influence who has access to resources, safety, and preferable ecologies [...] and who will be relegated to the “plantation archipelagoes” (as Sylvia Wynter called them) [...].

Indigenous genocide and removal from land and enslavement are prerequisites for power becoming operationalized in premodernity [...]; it was/is a means to operationalize extraction (therefore race should be considered as foundational rather than as periphery to the production of those structures and of global space). [...] Wynter suggests that we […] consider 1452 as the beginning of the New World, as African slaves are put to work on the first plantations on the Portuguese island of Madeira, initiating the “sugar-slave” complex - a massive replantation of ecologies and forced relocation of people […]. Wynter argues that the invention of the figure of Man in 1492 as the Portuguese [and Spanish] travel to the Americas instigates at the same time “a refiguring of humanness” in the idea of race. [...] The natal moment of the 1800 Industrial Revolution, […] [apparently] locates Anthropocene origination in […] the "new" metabolisms of technology and matter enabled by the combination of fossil fuels, new engines, and the world as market. […] The racialization of epistemologies of life and nonlife is important to note here […]. While [this industrialization in the nineteenth century] […] undoubtedly transformed the atmosphere with […] coal, the creation of another kind of weather had already established its salient forms in the mine and on the plantation. Paying attention to the prehistory of capital and its bodily labor, both within coal cultures and on plantations that literally put “sugar in the bowl” (as Nina Simone sings) […]. The new modes of material accumulation and production in the Industrial Revolution are relational to and dependent on their preproductive forms in slavery […]. In 1833, Parliament finally abolished slavery in the British Caribbean, and the taxpayer payout of £20 million in “compensation” [paid by the government to slave owners for their lost "property"] built the material, geophysical (railways, mines, factories), and imperial infrastructures of Britain and its colonial enterprises and empire. [...] A significant proportion of funds were invested in the railway system connecting London and Birmingham (home of cotton production and […] manufacturing for plantations), Cambridge and Oxford, and Wales and the Midlands (for coal). Insurance companies flourished [...]. The slave-sugar-coal nexus both substantially enriched Britain and made it possible for it to transition into a colonial industrialized power […]. The slave trade […] fashioned the economic conditions (and institutions, such as the insurance and finance industries) for industrialization.
