Background: (Resumed version) From a small country that was one of the only safe haven in the world, while all of the other countries were at war with each other. When his country got invaded, he fled with a bunch of other people and got accepted into another country, in exchange for his labor. Now he is in a military academy.

Role: Protagonist

Main traits: Skeptical, pacifist, solution oriented mindset so learns quickly

*Notes: Probably has white hair idk. I like to say his song is "TMI" by Meet Me @ The Altar. He probably needs glasses

Miriam

Background: Miriam’s younger brother. When she disappears in a mission everybody assumes she’s dead and he takes it to himself to avenge her.

Role: Minor antagonist

Main traits: Idealistic, grudgeful, ruthless, focused

i hate it when they're so obviously in love with another character but they are so fucking blind to it. they will literally describe the guy as the sun, beautiful, life itself, and then three sentences later call them 'bro'. other character is like 'they will never love me'. my dude shut the fuck up there is a fine line between obliviousness and self deprecation and you walk that fucking line like a tightrope walker. the closet is glass but you're fucking facing the wall. dumb fuck. fucking break the glass. 'what are we' IDIOTS YOU'RE BOTH IDIOTS

I will never be over Leo’s 4D chess play in “Many Unhappy Returns”. Like, just in general it is a spectacle to see this character who we’ve seen goofing around time and time again, who’s only sometimes decided to take things seriously, only to show him making a maneuver like that.

And here’s what gets me the most about his plan against Big Mama: he comes up with it on the spot. The second he sees that Big Mama has the solution they need, he’s already in game mode.

It is so satisfying watching the episode back when you realize his plan, because he literally sets the stage entirely for a decisive victory. He sees that the champion is a kraken, and comes up with both the solution to defeating it and a reasonable excuse to get that solution into the battle with them on the fly:

“Like your champ aaand those six guys. In fact, we don’t want this over too quickly. You should armor up those rookies. The whole shebang. Especially with these pointy helmets.”

And this is why giving him teleportation powers is perfect, too. He analyzes the battlefield and makes use of all the assets, moving pieces around to guarantee a win. It is honestly so impressive to witness and one of my favorite parts of his character.

I was going through my art folder again and I saw one of the oldest wof stuff I've ever drawn (the fourth one ever I think?) and I redrew it! I love Turtle and I just took this excuse to draw him again

I see your (general) “Kakashi expects children to be half as smart as he was at that age” AU and raise you a “Kakashi thinks children are way dumber than they actually are” AU. His only in-person experiences with pre genin are himself, a year at the academy, and Naruto.

So he’s convinced that Iruka is some kind of god for wrangling 17 half-feral children (and Naruto) into real human beings who can read and write and use chopsticks and deadly weapons. Yes, clan children probably learn a bit before, but still.

Kakashi: can’t believe you taught them almost everything they know

Iruka: I didn’t??

Kakashi: I watched you turn 18 hellions into mostly functional members of society

Iruka: most of my kids were well behaved

Kakashi: they absolutely were not, I once saw baby Shino bite Chouji and Hinata took out Gai’s kneecaps because he stood still long enough for her to catch him

i saw this tweet and found it interesting for two reasons. one is that some people base how good cartoon network would be to toh by how it treated su, and despite the fact that su’s treatment by the network was considered poor at the time, now its thought to be exceptionally good in comparison to modern shows.

two is how exactly su got impacted by a limited budget. a common criticism is how characters like connie, peridot, and lapis are left out of missions. but balancing a lot of characters is not only hard but also costly (extra animation, extra voices—it’s been revealed that the show is limited to a set number of characters per episode otherwise they’re over budget). animation mistakes are not uncommon since retakes cost extra. the entire reason the original show got cut short was due to loss of funding!
