Hi, idk if you do requests, but if you do, may I request a cobra Kai Kim da eun x reader headcannon
Quandary Cobra's headcanons
pairings - Kim Da-Eun x you/non-binary reader
kg's notes - i just wanted to make something for the Kim lovers out there, so if you have any suggestions then let me know! i am going to be working with platonic then i will shift into more of a romantic aspect if you're wanting that. i won't being doing that tonight though.
She certainly has a lot of pictures of you lying around in the dojo or in her office somewhere (primarily on the floor).
She would get into Kreese's ass (figuratively not actually, unless you're wanting her to) if he was being too strict on you.
She has never really celebrated Halloween so you're the first to introduce to the spooky spirit!! 👻
You and her do not share a lot of common things that would spark interest, but you certainly are in a trance when she speaks about what makes her happy vice versa her with you.
You are definitely the one who makes the most messes and she's the one to clean them up without you noticing.
You are the only one to call her Kimmy; the others get tossed or thrown around even if they tried saying it.
She doesn't like being separated from you so she stays close to your location no matter where you are.
She is always quick to defend you, but will correct you in private.
You asked her for her favorite color which she didn't have one so you told her a color that she might like which became her favorite
She seems to know all your allergies without you telling her
You might want to look into how she did that, especially since you didn't disclose that information...
The two of you hate seeing the other get hurt and would do anything to prevent it happening again
Kreese teases you two about this in a more private setting, like having dinner at Silver's house for example.
She likes to spoil you with whatever she can find that you might like and there are definitely some questionable things in there
One time, she gave you a decapitated frog that was sealed in resin for your birthday
You gave her a keychain, but she didn't put it with her keys, she kept it around a loop of her pants instead
She admitted to you when she visited home that she named one of her snakes after you which is sweet yes, but it also made you wonder how many of those snakes she has
You found out that Kim has a sweet tooth and to this day, she denies having one though you see her eat the candies in her office.
She offers you some candy when you don't bring the fact up. Kim: "It's mostly sour candy not sweet candy." Reader: "Right, sure it is, Kimmy" Kim: "Do you not believe me, Reader?" Reader: "I will once you give me a piece." Kim, handing Reader a piece: "Don't say I didn't warn you" Reader, putting the candy in their mouth: "Oh that's not too- Oh!" Kim, laughing: "Believe me now?" Reader, coughing out the candy: "Oh, yes, I believe you."
You think about one-uping her after the candy incident, since your cheek still hurts day after the fact.
She tried apologizing to you for the candy, because she could have warned you a bit better than just saying it's "sour".
You eventually do forgive her for the candy as you give her something involving vinegar in return.
You two go back and forth with this shinnegains for a little while before returning the usual programming.
She gave you another frog for any future misfits, but hey, this one is alive instead sealed in resin.
Part one out of nine : Quandary Cobra series

Convention Artist Alley Review: Otakon
Tumblr media
Convention: Otakon
Location: Washington DC
Date: July 29-31
Table cost: $325
Table size: 6’
Application: Lottery
Fandom/audience: Anime
Items for sale: 11x17" posters (fanart and original), coloring book, comics, pins (original), resin coasters and jewelry  (including primogems), leather keychains (by my sister)
Mask policy: Required in all areas
New items/display: between a 6’ table and flying, I did not bring many items (zines, postcards, limited stock of other items)
Previously attended? Yes, but it has been many years (2013?)
Pros: HUGE convention with a very large audience
Cons: expensive, very hard to get into, in an expensive area (DC)
Most popular item(s): Posters (129)
Least popular item(s): Commissions (0)
Otakon is an adventure, no matter how you play it. The con has been going since forever, so it is well organized and tends to run smoothly. They send out information generally well ahead of time, allowing me to be prepared.
I had originally intended to drive (about a 9 hour drive) and my mom had made noises about wanting to come along and see DC.  However, she apparently wasn’t serious.  Two days prior the venue decided they were going to charge $150 per use of the loading docks (and you otherwise had to “hand carry” in items, meaning no folding wagon like I usually use), so I just for fun looked at flights, and I could get a southwest flight there for under $400. Considering the time saved plus I wouldn’t have to deal with loading docks or traffic or parking, I decided to fly.  Between now having to fly and the smaller table, as well as limited stock from the past 3 shows, I did not bring all of my items (no zines, ran out of SONS on day 1)
In other fun times, I dropped my phone and shattered it, so I had to buy a temporary phone for a few days to run credit card sales.
I haven’t attended Otakon since it’s been in Baltimore, and this was a completely different show.  The artist alley and art show were in a separate room from vendors, but also had longer hours to encourage more attendance.  The unlimited ($1000 with no fanart restrictions) tables were in the front of the alley, followed by the standard tables ($300 lottery system, 50/50 fanart and original required).  There was plenty of room around each table, including a 2’ space between tables, which really helped with walking around the alley and being able to see each person’s wares.
Gross sales: ~$4000
Recommend/will attend again? It might even be worth it to buy those unlimited tables!
Other 2022 convention reviews:
Gem City
Dokidokon
Anime Midwest
Anime Ohio
Huntington Toy & Comic Con
Momocon
SPACE

Indiana Comic Con

These reviews take a lot of time and effort, but I think they are something the artist alley community needs! If you would like to support me so I can keep doing these, please consider donating or buying from my shops!

I know resin at large is bad for the environment, and I also know that any one of us will still never hit any level of damage to the environment at the level of companies who pump shit into our ecosystems at the regular.
That said, I find it super ironic that the people I knew who kept shitting on my doll hobby, where I literally have dolls from years and years ago, and where I'm careful to not break or hurt them, and do everything in my power to keep anything resin related to a minimum, I don't buy resin eyes, or other resin accessories, and instead prefer other alternatives. I also don't do faux furs or wools because of microplastics. Those same people who condemned me are now getting in resin pouring hobbies, and are literally throwing away like 60-80% of anything they make, and are literally dumping non-biodegradable glitters into their sinks, or throwing them in trash-cans.
Seriously, the most recent incident I saw was a girl I know who made a resin pour, which actually looked nice, but she threw the entire thing away because of ONE SINGLE LITTLE BUBBLE she could have fixed by adding in a drop of UV resin. I literally was over at the house of an acquaintance (friend of a friend) and she had glitter all over her bathroom sink, and when I asked she said she washes all her tools in the bathtub. NON-BIODEGRADEABLE GLITTER!!! If you actually get all the glitter in the resin, I get it, but COME ON!
One girl literally makes these, let me be honest, ugly keychains, which is in part because she never waits for the resin to harden, or she mixes it wrong, so she throws away 6-8 out of every 10 she makes. Yes this is where the 60-80% comes from. She stinks of resin. Topper of the i is also that none of them apparently ever use respirators or safety tools, because when I asked what they were using to keep the fumes out, two of them, I know about 8 girls who started into the resin hobby, were like "Fumes? I thought it's supposed to smell like that." It's like these girls all decided to become a hive-mind of dumb decisions in relation to resin pouring. AND SOME OF THEM STILL SAY I'M WORSE BECAUSE I HAVE MY DOLLS SHIPPED TO ME. THE FUCK YOU THINK YOUR RESIN COMES FROM??

batmanisagatewaydrug's semi-facetious leo season gift-giving guide to treat yourself and others
hi gang, I'm just gonna say this: I don't believe in astrology, but every August I lean into, like, the MOST annoying Leo stereotypes and buy myself just a LOAD of shit, because I'm great and it's my birth month and I deserve it. to be clear I would be doing this regardless of when my birthday is, but as it happens all of my astrology bitch friends get to feel real smug 31 days a year after I've spent 11 months snorting at their assertion that space rocks and gas clouds have any bearing on their mental health and personality disorders.
ANYWAY.
when I was younger I tended to feel a bit guilty about my little birthday treats (and most other spending that was just for me), but I've mercifully grown past that shit now. one, "guilty pleasure" is a flawed concept. I'm not catholic, I don't have to feel guilty about shit. two, I have the money to do this. I'm fine. and three, best of all, all of my gifts-to-self came from smaller artists and creators, and I could NEVER feel guilty about supporting talented craftspeople just trying to make a living peddling their wares on the internet.
anyway, in the interest of further support I thought I'd compile a list of all the weird shit I've been treating myself to under the justification of my birthday and link to all the cool cool people who made this stuff. in all sincerity, they're making me very happy and I hope they make you happy too.
anyway, now that I've done the "annoying housewife prose at the start of a recipe blog" portion, let's get to the shit.
#1. Charming Little Fox
I was lured in by the honeycomb jewelry, because my wife LOVES bees and bee-themed accessories (thank god she's not on tumblr anymore, because MAJOR gift-giving spoilers), but ended up falling in love with all the unique earrings. I ended up getting this asymmetrical sun/moon pair, which makes me feel unspeakably cool every time I wear them.
Tumblr media
#2. Skeletons in the Closet
okay, listen - my big splurge was on some of the handmade masks (filters included), namely one of these fringed baddies that's going to make me look like Orville Peck. but you've GOT to look at the clothes for sale on this site, which are some of the most gorgeous high drama gay goth shit I've ever seen in my life. velvet, fringe, and fishnet ABOUNDS.
Tumblr media
#3. Jenny Shlemon
I'm kind of obsessed with this whole shop, which makes a lot of profane glittery iridescent resin jewelry that's EXACTLY my kind of tacky. my friend AJ got me one of their keychains for my birthday, which is shaped like a star, full of glitter, and has beads that lovingly spell out the word CUNT inside. that little gift came with a ten percent off on my next purchase. I went with these cool hoop-and-snake earrings, but I was sorely tempted by the ones that proudly proclaimed I PUT A WHOLE BAG OF JELLYBEANS UP MY ASS.
Tumblr media
#4. Maya Kern
okay, listen. Maya Kern sure as shit doesn't need my help to sell size-inclusive, deep-pocketed skirts, which seem to instantly sell out every time a fresh batch is listed. which is why I was SO excited to snag one of these cuties covered in hands! I'm genuinely really excited to get this skirt and happy to support an independent queer artist, but this one IS also just sort of a flex that I get to wear one of these wonders on my body.
Tumblr media
#5. Janatee Craftily
full disclosure that this is the shop of a dear, dear friend of mine, but what the fuck is the point of having a tumblr blog with followers if not to hype up your homies? this beloved chum is the master of many art forms, from crochet to jewelry to stickers to dice. this month I've been particularly hyped to receive a set of miniature rainbow dice, a glitter rainbow necklace, and a crocket halter top that are all Janatee Craftily specials.
Tumblr media
#6. VestalKi
... aka tumblr user @kialessa. this cute little crochet water bottle holder isn't even here yet, but I'm already hype as hell to receive it. I go for a LOT of lengthy walks (probably like 3-5 a week, because pokemon go is serious fucking business) and it's hot as hell here. but I hate having to carry a water bottle around with my hands like some kind of medieval peasant (because, again, those pokemon are NOT going to catch themselves) so this is really going to revolutionize my entire life. PLUS Mack has informed me it can comfortably pull double duty as a purse??? my god, this is the gift that just keeps giving.
Tumblr media
#7. Super Yaki
this is a movie with cute weird movie merch for cute weird movie fans, but what if, like me, you're a wretched bog hag who's never willingly engaged with pop culture in their life? well, good news: now there's Super Yaki merch for us, too! and if you happen to be a fan of Dimension 20, like me, even better news: it was designed by Kendra Wells, the artist behind the character art for The Unsleeping City! if you're not a fan of Dimension 20, just disregard that last part and look at this cool shirt.
Tumblr media
credit for me owning this one actually goes to Rachel @dykerory, who insisted on buying it for me mere moments after I sent them this image and asked if I should buy it for myself. thanks, beloved bestie brainworm <3
#8. GreenTree Factory
one of the only other entries on this list that I didn't encounter through the internet! I met these shop owners at a local farmer's market, and was delighted by their drinks-themed candles and whimsical little soaps - so delighted that I immediately had to buy a matching lime margarita candle/soap set. the scents are phenomenal, the craftsmanship delightful, and products are extremely long-lasting. look at this - this sparks joy in my heart literally every time I light it.
Tumblr media
#9. The Euphoric TreeFort
I met these guys at a con where I was volunteering, and it took all my willpower not to drop over 100 dollars on candles right then and there. they have some of the most unique and VIVID scents that I've ever encountered in my life, some of which frankly seem like an affront to God and science. I don't know how they managed to so perfectly capture the scent of cheese pizza in a candle, and I have no idea who would want to burn it, but I do have to admit it's very impressive. more palatable options include their orange soda scent, which I frequently just carry around my house, unlit, sniffing it and marveling at how exactly like orange soda is smells.
Tumblr media
#10. The Bail Project
swerve - you thought this was going to be all about materialism and buying things, didn't you? it mostly is, but one of the most rewarding things I've thrown my money at in a long time is Lil Nas X's bail fund. you can make a one-time donation or do what I did, and set a small recurring donation to be charged every month. I was mostly joking when I called this a gift-giving guide, but any donation to the Bail Project could literally change the course of someone's life, and there's no better gift than that.

Sorry if I'm being annoying, my friends doesn't message me anymore:(
BUT Gojo and the others setting up dear yuta and dd!r in a date?!
They would just pretend to hang out but they actually planned it, so when yuta got the idea on what they are doing, he called gojo on what they are planning. Let me set the scene here-
It was Saturday and Gojo had the idea to set yuta and y/n on a date, operation: Love nest. (I did google the meaning and it says "a place where two lovers spend time together, especially in secret." So let's go with it-) He had informed the others and agreed to the plan.
So he called yuta and y/n to ask them if they are willing to join to go out and have fun with the others which they agreed to meet up at the park.
As the two arrived at the park, they waited for about 15 minutes for them to arrive, yuta knew that Gojo can be late sometimes but it's so unlike for his classmates and his kyohai to be late as well so he decided to call Gojo in which he picked up immediately.
"Gojo sensei, where are you? The others haven't arrived as well, did something happened?" Yuta asked as he felt a tap on his shoulder to see y/n mouthing; 'is that Gojo sensei?', He nodded but his face suddenly turned confused when he heard the older man laughed at the other line.
"Ah, sorry yuta-kun for laughing all of the sudden, anyways enjoy your date with y/n-chan~" Gojo hangs up before yuta can respond, his cheek was painted with a pink tint color. He breathes, gaining composure as he turned around meeting y/n's gaze making his ears go pink a bit.
"what did Gojo sensei said?"
"W-well Gojo Sensei said he can't make it along with the others" he tried his best to not stutter in which he automatically failed.
"I was hoping to spend time with them, we kinda have been busy recently..." she smiled looking away for a moment but looked back at the boy with a brighter smile.
"But I get to spend time with you! You've been in overseas too much" she pouted and he can't help but give y/n a small laugh. She was right, he has been send to go overseas more often, he finally had a break to spend time with his fellow classmates.
"So I'm gonna take advantage of this opportunity to spend time with you! You need to take breaks" she added.
"alright, well what do you want to do?" He asked giving y/n the opportunity to choose on how the day will go.
"let's eat first! I really want to try cafe I've been eyeing recently."
After they finished visiting the cafe, they went to the mall to look around for a bit before they go back in Jujutsu high. y/n suddenly a cute keychain that reminded her of herself, without yuta knowing, she bought the keychain to gift it to him later.
They decided to walk around on the park a bit and y/n took this opportunity to give the keychain to him.
"Yuta-kun-"
"Y/n-"
They both said each other's name at the same time causing yuta to get flustered a bit but replaced with laughter as he heard y/n laughing.
"You say it first" yuta said.
"Well, I wanna give you something!"
"I was gonna give you something too"
Y/n can't help but giggle by the same idea they had.
"Let's give it to each other at the same time in..."

3
They both showed the item at the same time revealing both keychain that reminded them of themselves. The two couldn't help but laugh at the same idea of giving each other keychains.
"When did you buy that?" Yuta asked as he slowly out his hand on his nape.
"when you were distracted, I wanted to gift you this so that you have a remembrance of me!" She smiled making his face blush a bit as they give their keychains.
"Thank you Y/n, I'll take care of it"
"Me too"
They started to head back when y/n suddenly stopped walking making yuta turn around seeing y/n thinking with her hand on her chin, she suddenly lifted her head like she finally knew what she was trying to remember something she forgot.
"it's like we're having a date" she said happily continuing to walk eventually passing yuta as for him... He was taken back from her words and his face was so red he looked like a tomato ready to explode.
"Yuta-kun, are you alright? Your really red."
"I-I'm fine, let's go back, Gojo sensei might be worried we haven't come back" he gave her a reassuring smile as y/n agreed and start heading back again.
When they arrived, y/n said her goodbye to yuta as she skipped making her way towards her dorm room leaving yuta processing what happened.
"You know, you wasted your opportunity yuta-kun" a familiar voice was made making him jump a bit as he turned around to see his sensei and the others.
"W-were you guys following us the w-whole time?"
"I'm surprised you didn't spotted us" maki said.
"Now, why didn't you take that opportunity!?" Gojo whined shaking yuta making him dizzy.
"I-it was just so sudden" he replied making gojo let go of the young man.
"at least you got something from her~" Gojo teased making yuta flustered as he walks away from the group.
"I'm sure he has his own time" Megumi suddenly butt in, "Salmon" inumaki agrees.
So they let mr. Lover boy choose when is the right time
Ajskdjdji I JUST MADE THIS UP AS I GO WITH IT! HAHSHS the idea of Gojo and the others setting yuta and dd!r is so funny why didn't I thought of that before XD
- ☕
.....gojo satoru setting a date up for the two of them? i- 💥💥💥💳💥💥💳
and is okey babes - same here lmao. but we can geek out togehter-
stop giving me ideas to write - i want to write this but i also have so much shit i need to do pfft.
ALSO TO ADD TO THIS- daydreamiong!reader dragging yuta into those photo boots where you can take pictures and decorate them before printing them? And her deciding to make those cute resin keychains with pictures in them to gift to Yuta before he leaves for another trip? And she is the one who loops the keychain on his weapons bag next to the cute keychain she got in?
idk if you have those photo boots overseas, but they are all over places in asia and I love to take pictures in them and decorate them with friends lmaoooo
Also Y/N will probably cling onto him the entire time because that's what she does and everyone will just assume they are dating from the outside cx but the rest of the students and Gojo are like,
"OH MY GOD JUST K I SS ALREADY!"

A few days past now but I still wanted to share!
The picture above is how I start my moon phase rituals…
First, I smoke my evening cannabis. Then, I sage the altar area to cleanse the space of negativity and bring myself peace; my soul feels so good when I sage.
I anoint with oil and light my candles; this time I used a spell candle (green for abundance - from Two Sisters Esoteric on Etsy!), and, though not pictured. I also have dollar store pink and white candles (self-love, clarity) - the white candle rests in a pink salt candle holder! I used rosemary essential oil for this moon phase, and also had it in my diffuser with jasmine, for the moon, too.
I set up my crystals on my homemade resin chakra dish; I always use my topaz and quartz tower charger to boost my other crystal’s energies, but tonight I added clear quartz for clarity, sodalite for creativity, and selenite for the moon.
I mix and set out the herb, sands and salts, and stone chips I’ll be using in my manifestation meditation. In my herb and flower bowl I have jasmine, rosemary, and mugwort; to boost my connection to grandmother moon, and encourage my third eye to really actively engage with my progress on my goals since New Moon Intentions. In my sands and salts bowl I have peridot for abundance, and green adventurine for luck, and sea salt for protection. In my stone bowl I have tiny moonstone pebbles.
When I light my spell candles, I light with a match with a meditation intention, and I light it before I gather the supplies for my spell and manifestation, allowing the spell with the candle to burn and boost the energies of the other herbs, crystals, oils, and flowers I use in my ritual. After gathered and organized, I connect physically, in whatever way is comfortable at the time, with my crystals, and I focus on the flame of the candle, allowing myself to slip into a meditative state as I gaze at it. I stay like that for as long as feels good.
I journal before and after I meditate; before I meditate, I journal my daily gratitude, and after, I journal about how the mediation and day made me feel, what was resonating with me, all my jumbled thoughts spill onto the page.
I finish with an introspective and very personal tarot reading for myself; I shuffle until I feel I should stop, then I try and fan the cards out magician style across my altar and pick as many as feels right - it usually is close to ten, which I know is long for some, but the flow of them is often necessary for my readings. I won’t go into more detail on that reading, as it is a few days past now.
Part of any of my moon phase rituals have lately included preserving some of my spells in a resin mixture, shaped into pendants and keychains that I’ve then shared with my friends and family! These ones were my latest creations!
Tumblr media
How do you honour the moon goddess within yourself and take accountability for your progressions or setbacks?
How are you engaging and bringing forth action towards your goals and ideas?

I’ve had a lot of requests from various people at different times who are just learning how to use resin to create with and wanted some tips and tricks. I have wanted to make this post for a while, but I wanted to acquire more experience myself before giving others help. This first post is just going to go over some really basic tips and tricks and subsequent posts (if they’re found helpful) will elaborate. This is for all of you who are like me and get the least amount of benefit from watching Youtube tutorials these days because EVERYONE has one, and half the time they’re drawn out for ad revenue so an hour long video will only contain 20 mins worth of information with the kicker being you can’t even fast forward through what you know or rewind through ads to get back to where you need to be. So, for those of you who hate that like me, this text post is for you.
If you’re just starting, choosing which resin you want to purchase is intimidating. Craft stores like Michael’s and Hobby Lobby rarely offer more than one or two brands, typically over priced due to the fact that they’re labeled “art resins”.
Epoxy resin is by far the easiest to start with for beginners. It is the most forgiving, has the most consistent results, most brands use the same 1:1 ratio and the overall technique is the same. I am not affiliated with these brands/companies in any way other than I have used their products and have written reviews for several on Amazon.
Start with small packages (4oz-8oz kits / 8oz & 16oz hardener + resin). A quick Amazon search for epoxy resin will give you many results. This is one of those cases where you really don’t get what you pay for- boat, tabletop, etc. epoxy will yield the same results at more reasonable prices per fluid ounce than art resins. I recommend going with brands like FanAut, Puduo, Let’s Resin, Craft Daddy, etc. which often offer kits with gloves, craft sticks / stir sticks, measuring cups, and even additives at reasonable prices. All these items are things you’ll need to start off, so any extras are appreciated. I recommend Puduo, as it is relatively inexpensive compared to similar brands, yields consistent , crystal clear results, and has a somewhat faster curing time than other epoxy resins for the price. If none of these brands ring your bell, here are the qualifiers for a “good” epoxy resin:
Self Degassing- This is pretty much the standard expectation of epoxy resin and one of the reasons it is considered forgiving for beginners. When resin and hardener are combined, gases are trapped and form air bubbles which have a tendency to multiply as you stir your mixture and the combination heats up. But it shouldn’t be taken for granted that all epoxy resin does this, so try to look for “self degassing” in the item description / label.
Self Leveling vs. Doming : Doming resin is great for the magnified look on pendants and other flat projects, but self leveling resin is where you should be starting as doming requires the build up of surface tension to achieve. While “doming “ resin may achieve this easier than others without this feature, it is pretty irrelevant if you don’t know to dome resin in the first place.
Art Resin vs Other Epoxy: Art resins make claims of being ideal or a better choice for arts & crafts, but the reality is that you can achieve the same effects from table top or boat resins such as Mas- are just as capable of casting, coating, doming etc. as art resins especially if you’re looking to take on a larger project you will pay less and get more with these brands than smaller quantities of art resins. Make sure they are crystal clear, hard type, self degassing, and self leveling. Keep in mind that cure time relates to the size of your project and the ambient temperature of the environment, so don’t waste money on products that charge more for touting faster curing time.
What about 2 part epoxy in syringes? (Ice Resin, Gorilla Glue) Personally, these pre prepared epoxy resins are more complicated than they look. You can’t save combined resin and hardener, so once you mix the two or pop the seals to both you have to use the lot of it in one shot. Ice Resin in particular is quite expensive and doesn’t offer the clear, glossy results I expected it to when I used it, so I would avoid these if you are just starting out.
Additives & Extras- Don’t waste a lot of money at the start funding your would be creations until you have at least seen one entire project through from start to finish. I made the mistake of investing in silicone molds, glitters, additives like rhinestones, craft papers, transparency films etc before I really found my niche and what I was really using epoxy for the most. There are some great deals for 100+ piece silicone mold kits that include gloves, stir sticks, silicone measuring cups, and the like available cheaply for those looking to make smaller things like jewelry, keychains, figurines etc. the one I have just linked to even includes the epoxy for under $20. These kits are offered by Amazon and even Etsy and are a great place to start as they provide you with everything you would need to create at least one full project. They are also a great activity to do with your kids (ages 10+ would probably be ideal) as you can add pretty much anything that isn’t silicone, wax, unsealed paper, alcohol, or water based into resin, which opens up a world of possibilities!
Tips & Tricks That Will Save You $
If you’re itching for purchasing pigments to add color to your resin projects, try purchasing or reusing some old or cheap mineral eye shadows. Not sure if your eye shadow is mineral based? I’m willing to bet it is, though some colors may not look the same when mixed in resin as they do on the pallets, they will color it nonetheless, just pick a small amount up on a popsicle stick or toothpick and stir it into a small batch of resin to see how it turns out. Dollar Tree eye shadows will work just as well as expensive pigments, so consider this before investing in expensive mica pigment sets!
While silicone molds are probably the easiest and are reusable, you can also use plastic molds, carve your resin block with carpentry tools or by hand-or even make your own molds! There are simple recipes utilizing dish soap and corn starch out there, or you can use silicone or even hot glue! Flexible silicone molds won’t require a mold release, but plastic and other molds will or you may end up cutting your project out. You don’t have to purchase a mold release product for this, either- olive or vegetable oil spray on a paper towel will suffice, just remember to let your mold sit for a few hours to demoisturize.
Can’t find gloves because of COVID19 hype? Finger cots are even better than gloves as they allow for more dexterity even when they get sticky, are cheaper, and readily available in bulk online!
Pretty much anything compatible with homemade “slime” can be mixed into or embedded in resin, so there is that. However, be careful how much glitter, pigment, etc you add as you can throw off the chemical balance that allows your project to cure properly. Refer to the directions included with your specific resin kit as most will tell you what ratios must be maintained for proper curing.
Everyone that works with resin knows the arch nemesis that is the bubbles. There are times where it seems like, no matter what you do, your perfect clear cast of a dandelion goes to shit because of some stray air bubbles. There are a few tricks to avoid this from the start:
Use a separate cup to measure resin and hardener. Pour the combined mixture into a fourth cup after the first 3-4 mins of stirring (half time) scraping the sides and bottom. This helps what was on the bottom get integrated into what was mixed on top. Always make sure to pour resin first when mixing and mix slowly, scraping the sides and bottom, for the time listed on your instructions. You want your mixture to be almost water consistency, clear, fluid, with little viscosity, and no streaks visible. Allow it to sit for a few minutes to natural degas and get rid of the bubbles.
Use a torch or grill lighter to pop surface bubbles. You can also do each one individually (as the grill lighter suggestion may not always be a good idea- be careful using this on large projects and molds that may ignite) with a tooth pick. Using a blow dryer or heat gun will also help bubbles rise to the surface to be popped.
Make sure that you keep contact with the bottom of your mixing cup with your stir stick-try not to lift it too much as this can introduce air into the mixture (“whipping the resin”) this can also occur if you are stirring too quickly. If you notice a lot of bubbles, let your mixture sit for a few minutes and resume stirring at a slower pace.
Make sure you start your project at a temperature of 74 degrees +, if your bottles are cold to touch, place them in a plastic bag and let them sit in hot water to warm up. You can also roll them (slowly) on a counter top.
You know, if all else fails you could always make ocean or nautical themed projects :)
That’s all for now- let me know if this helped you or someone you know working with resin or experimenting. Feel free to comment with any questions you would like answered in my next post! I also recommend the Resin Obssesion blog- they have a lot of useful information and tutorials with photos that were really helpful for me starting out!

(This is for the gyftmas gift exchange! 🎁 I hope you rest up and enjoy the holidays, Anne!)
My gift for Stretch is a maple wood pen with a custom engraving that says “You’re the sweetness in my life” on the side and an orange baby’s breath flower in a resin bubble on top. On the pen’s clip is an orange and white gingham ribbon tied onto it with a note. The note looks as if its been crumpled and straightened out around the edges, with parts that have erased words or lines:
You’re always able to bring a smile on my face No matter what you do And even on my worst of days You sweeten them up too
Whether it’s playing Mario Kart Even chilling and watching a movie or two There’s always a slight flutter to my heart It’s always better being around you
Revealing my shapeshifting abilities And being the first person to tell it to It made me feel more like myself… I just feel so safe whenever I’m around you
Giving you that bee keychain Felt like giving a part of me to you Now I’m offering all of me Because I love you
(I wanna thank @pureangleda, @snowflakesimagines for the gift idea and poem help, and @keziha-chan for helping me pick a color of baby’s breath based on flower language, and @trashybonecan and @rainbowut and everyone else mentioned for encouragement and helping me see this through the end!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stretch reads the poem over and over again.  He traces the words, smooths out the paper...He finds his eyes drawn to the last three words again and again and again. He can’t hide the giant grin on his face or the way his soul is practically singing in his ribcage.
Finally, he manages to tear his eyes away from the poem and picks up the pen.  He finds a clean sheet of paper and begins writing with his new pen.
Later that afternoon, you receive a package containing two wrapped items.  One is a book on birds, with a little note.  Thought you might like this.  Maybe you can find some new forms in here.  I think they’d all be pretty cute.
Another package holds an orange folder. When you open it, there are papers in both pockets. The pocket on the right is a short story.  The title page says, “The Hidden Queen”.  When you read it, you realize that it’s one of Stretch’s originals, a story set in a fantasy world about a skeleton bard helping a displaced royal hide from the people trying to make sure she never takes the throne.  The queen in the story can turn into a bird--that was how she escaped her pursuers.  It’s pretty clear, as you read, that this is based on you and Stretch.  He’s added a short note to the end of it. I know you missed out on our big fantasy video game thingy earlier this year, so I figured I’d write out the story I’d programmed for us.  Maybe one day we can play it out together.
In the other pocket is a single page. It’s a letter.
Dear Queen,
I put this together before I got your present.  Now it doesn’t seem like enough.  I tried writing you a poem in return but it turns out I suck at poetry.  (Prose I can do, but rhyming and stuff just throws me off!) Instead, I thought I’d just write and tell you this way.
I feel the same way.
You are my favorite person.  (Don’t tell Blue!) You always know how to cheer me up and I’m so glad that you trust me with stuff like your shapeshifting.  Everything is better when you’re there with me.
I know it’s taken a while to say, and I swear I’ll tell you to your face the next time I see you, but I love you.
I love you too, Queen.  With all my soul.
Love,
Stretch
I still have to make my Easter post...
I have a summer / beach themed Willry drawing I promise I’ll post for you guys. Probably will be a lot of sketches (composition) and a final peice that’s kinda whimsical. Like... playful/cute? Like you see those anime girls on posters in Otomedia and shit, but it’s gonna be our two bois. IDK what inspired it, but I am excited to have any inspiration at all.
I’m struggling a lot aka having my mid-life crisis... so I’m kind of figuring out what I want to do for the next twenty - forty years. I’ve thought about going back to writing (and self publishing). It is an expensive endeavor and I have no “fanbase” to speak of [aside you guys, but I’m not trying to push my personal projects on you even if I mention them now and then]. Writing isn’t even the hard part. I’ve got 12, maybe 14 books just sitting in my head. Since ‘98 (yes I’m old) I’ve only completed 2 manuscripts... however this is due to losing several due to tech issues, growing into a young adult, ect.
That’s depressing though? If any of you saw the art Scott put out for The Breaking Wheel story it’s so good. It’s how I imagined it.
My wife and I had some strain this last year so we have made Thursdays a day where we go mall walk and try to stay in shape. I’ve remade my savings by selling misc. things (truly, I wish I could own an anime/game store- in fact I will tangent a funny story below) and a little extra. Not trying to go crazy with it, but I figure I can get us a coffee to split once a week while we walk (although that kind of defeats the purpose). We’re gonna try to do more laps each time. There’s also the wonderful Peruvian booth and the salesman there... like I have to buy something every time I see him.
Tumblr media
(I needed a new wallet and this one was amazing. My grandpa used to leatherwork and so this really reminds me of him.)
I have a strange fascination with the Inca history and culture and I even made a game demo I still intend to remake once (look up 2bitsgames on itch.io) but I may have lost the entire demo ... I think I have the assetts still, although I think I could make even better ones now. I’ve been itching to make a very traditional JRPG and this one is like Final Fantasy X (in terms of Yuna’s story) with some science fiction thrown in.
Now for that story I promised--speaking of wanting to self publish, I thought of porting my guides to importing games/anime into e-books or even Skillshare. I read horrible things about Skillshare lately, though. I think an e-book is still plausible, but not sure if there’s an audience for it. I have helped SO MANY people buy from Japan (not through myself) and that makes me feel like it would be a good endeavor...
I also am dealing with some minor health stuff and trying to distract myself by binging a new show. I just finished some Sweets / Chopped and Sweets / Nailed It thing (I actually don’t LOVE sweets unless its marshmallow) and now I’m watching Disappeared (think: Unsolved Mysteries). These kinds of shows GRIP me!
I keep straying further from FNAF, but I’ll get way back into it once the new book or Security Breach comes out. I just thrive on new content, so it’s hard for me to look at all my work and be creative with it when I don’t have new inspiration. However, if you guys want to try requesting art or one shot fics for Willry / Helliam, I am completely open to that idea and would make time for that.
I know this post is all over the place and I apologize. I have been organizing the apartment (see *some* of my Star Ocean collection below) which includes cleaning and cooking, trying to “earn my keep” while unemployed (my idea, not my wife’s). The Star Ocean collection is my baby; it’s the one thing I would never hate and means so much to me. ALOT of items wouldn’t fit here (sealed games, more figures, plush, can badges, towels, tote bags, a clock, resin kits, keychains, posters... it’s a lot guys. Let me also note this is mostly for Star Ocean: the second story and it’s remake). I’ve been seriously considering updating my HiddenGemToys blog with more reviews soon...
Tumblr media
I job hunt but for now I am clearing out everything I can part with to build a savings so we aren’t struggling all the time. I have been playing the Mana games as you know, but I soon move onto the SaGa games, which is daunting. I counted 9 main titles although I’ve read there’s 12 games... so I have my work cut out for me.
A space situation
Tumblr media
You sigh heavily and shut your eyes. The man was so intelligent, but days like this you wonder if sometimes his brain took unpaid leave.
“My house is literally a third the size of your closet.”
If this wasn’t your house you might have found it a little bit funny. But it is your house.
Joon is your very rich very endearing sugar daddy but also very clumsy and sometimes rash in buying you whatever what he sees fit but it’s not very practical all the time.
Namjoon x Reader
Genre: It’s a fluff party guys
Word Count: 3k
Note: Quarantine can be inspiring lol
You don’t know you’re smiling, but it’s there. A tiny little smile lingering on your face as you watch the man in your kitchen from your crummy two-seater couch that barely fits into your living room.
It’s not a sight you’ll ever get used to seeing, you think, Namjoon with his designer suits and perfectly swept back hair, fumbling around in the drawers. He was wearing that new Dior shirt you had picked out for him last week.
When he’d came in to your dingy apartment, he’d removed his (probably very expensive) cufflinks and tossed them in your countertop dish.
“You shouldn’t treat your things so carelessly,” you chastised, taking them from the dish and moving them somewhere safer. Even in the cheap incandescent light, the large stones twinkle softly and you wondered how much they cost.
“They’re very pretty.”
‘What?” He’d glanced up briefly from his phone to see what you were holding. “Oh you like those? I can send them to my jeweler and get them set into earrings for you if you want.”
You nearly drop the cufflinks.
-
When he stands he bumps his head on an open cabinet.
He’s a bit befuddled for a moment and sends the cabinet door a look, but it quickly melts into a grin when he hears you giggle.
“Hey, don’t laugh. I’m six foot and this kitchen is literally made for someone who’s like five-nothing.”
God, you wanted to take a swim in those dimples.
You get off the couch and walk over, opening the second drawer to pull out a whisk and offer it to him.
“You’re the one who wanted to come to the dump which is my apartment, Joon.” It’s a matter-of-fact tone, but you can’t hide the twinkle in your eyes.
“I wanted to make you that dalgona coffee thing. But I don't have instant coffee at home. I didn’t know if it works with normal espresso.”
“You’re telling me you have a thirteen thousand dollar coffee machine at your place, and no instant coffee.”
Namjoon makes a face. “Instant coffee tastes like dishwater.”
You grab the bottle of instant coffee and shove it in his face.
“I love it.”
Namjoon shakes his head and grabs the glass jar from you, delivering a swift peck on your cheek.
“I love you.”
You blush, one hand going up to cup your face. To hell with butterflies in your stomach, this man truly gave the zoo a run for its money.
-
You’d met him while waitressing at one of those fancy fundraiser gala dinners. It paid the best, and between struggling to feed yourself and those overdue college bills, you were ready to swallow your pride and deal with the pompous crowd for a little while.
Namjoon had always thought it was a blessing he’d survived thirty three years not having broken a bone (well, he’s caused other people to break their bones, but that doesn’t count.) But that night, accidentally spilling his wine on you was the one time Namjoon ever felt truly lucky that he was a clumsy oaf.
You looked like a little deer, flustered and apologising, reaching for the nearest stack of napkins to fuss over the cuff of his jacket, when he should have been the one apologising to you. The two of you at a later point have recounted this first meeting and you still can’t believe he finds it hilarious that you were horrified, on the verge of tears because you thought he’d expect you to pay for his jacket.
Though you later understand why he’d find that funny. One thing more genuinely beautiful than his face was Namjoon’s heart. He’d insisted he book you a cab home (after understanding you didn’t have a spare shirt), and settled with your manager that you’d be taking the rest of the night off.
The next day he caught you by surprise, showing up on your doorstep in a cream cable knit sweater, and a black gift box adorned with a white camellia in hand (half out of apology, but also because he needed an excuse to see you). You’d opened the door, let out a strangled squeak and promptly slammed the door shut in his face. Later, he did get invited in when you didn’t so closely resemble a drenched version of Dobby, but it was unlikely you’d ever forget the horror of that moment.
-
Of course at first, your relationship was merely transactional - he paid you for your company, mostly at more of these fancy galas where he needed someone to distract the crowd while he really talked shop with the important people, and you.. well who were you, a mere mortal, to say no to that? It would get your bills paid, put food on the table, and Namjoon was kind, intelligent and not bad to look at.
Okay fine, he was great to look at.
Sure he’d been divorced once, but everyone has skeletons in their closets, right? Namjoon’s closet was three times the size of your apartment so there’d be plenty space to hide them. (Later, much later, you also become privy to the information that the guy could fuck you six ways from Sunday, but that’s besides the point… you think.)
-
After the parties on the way home you’d started to linger in his car. He’d walk you up the stairs of your dingy apartment complex. You hold hands, his large one dwarfing yours as the both of you walk as slowly as possible up the entire ten flights.
It was dangerous for you to walk alone, he said, but really, Namjoon wanted to talk to you a little while longer. You were nothing like he’d ever known. You were quiet. Listening. But really listening, not just waiting for your turn to talk. So different to the ditzy socialites in his circle who wanted only to talk about themselves.
Its not long before you're inviting him in for coffee - he drank your dishwater coffee quietly for the next three months before he suggested going to his place where the ‘real coffee’ was.
You fell fast, and you fell hard.
-
Not that you didn’t have your share of heated romances with people your age, but none of them really got you, listened to you as intently as he did when you rambled on about the inequality and hegemony of this world. You chalk it up to the fact that you’ve always been more mature than others - a result of circumstance. Not by choice, really, but it was what it was.
Namjoon always carried an air of introspection around him. Not intentionally. Many people took that for pride, but you realised quickly it was quiet confidence. He liked to listen and learn and observe.
On your coffee nights he begins to give you a glimpse of who he really is. Undoubtedly, he’s a Kim. That cool, nonchalant disposition was his battle armor. But beneath that you come to see the man who when you ask him about the telescope in the corner of his study, tells you he still entertains his childhood dream of being an astronaut. That on clear nights he likes to read Carl Sagan and look at the stars, wondering about the kind of lives they lead.
You learn he’s a great big klutz that breaks the handles off his cabinets ‘by accident’. You see the soft side that sometimes likes to read children’s books because ‘some of the best lessons in life are simple and humble ones’. And eventually the side that suddenly pulls you in closer in his sleep to his chest on rainy nights because he hates thunder. You always wake because you’re a light sleeper, but you’re glad you are, reaching up to smooth the furrow between his brows gently with a thumb before cuddling deeper into his embrace.
It’s also the first time he smiled at you. It was the week before his birthday, you’d given him a little resin keychain with little pressed wildflowers. He’d gone silent for quite a while and you didn’t know if he hated it or loved it.
“It’s a keychain.”
“Yeah.. It’s not much but I made it in a resin art workshop I went to, you have everything already and I hadn’t any idea what I could afford that you’d need-“
“You made this?” He interrupts, looking up at you.
You feel your gut shrivel. Jesus Christ. He hates it.
Immediately you move toward him to remove your offending gift. You were a Tiny Bit Hurt, but what had you been expecting with a cheap thing like that?
“If you don’t like it, it’s okay. You don’t have to use it! I just thought because you call me your little wildflower you’d like - “
You can’t finish your sentence because your face is smushed into Namjoon’s (very nice, very broad) chest as he pulls you into a crushing hug.
Horror takes over slightly and you struggle to move away. “Namjoon, I’m wearing so much foundation, and you’re in a cream Givenchy sweater - “
“I love it.”
You stop struggling. His warm breath tickles your ear, one large hand cradling the back of your head.
“You do?”
“I do. I love that you put in all this effort. You are my little wildflower. Always blooming in surprising places.’
You hug him back, nuzzling into his scent. The Givenchy sweater could wait. There was always drycleaning.
“And now I’ll have something to remind me of you wherever I go.”
When he pulls back to look at you he’s sporting not just one of those polite half smiles, but a full on beaming grin that make his eyes into smiling crescents. You get to see how deep his dimples actually are.
You swooned so hard you thought you might’ve given yourself an aneurysm.
-
Well, fast forward a year and here you are.
Watching the owner of a global business conglomerate make you some silly whipped coffee drink in the kitchen of your tiny apartment with water stains on the wallpaper, his diamond cufflinks sitting in a repurposed butter spread tray that held coins and keys on your countertop.
Watching your klutz boyfriends, ad he jerks the whisk at an odd angle and gets foamy coffee splattered all over the front of his white shirt.
'Joon, that’s Dior.” Your face crumples. Grabbing a towel out of the drawer, you wet it and try to dab the coffee stains off. That shirt was so expensive, it could pay your rent for three months.
You knew and had come to terms with the fact that money would always worry him far, far less than it worried you, but seeing such an expensive item go to waste would never stop making you a little bit unhappy. Well, there was more to it, but you shoved those thoughts away.
Namjoon sets the bowl down on the counter.
“It’s okay, love. I’ll just get a new one if the stains don't come off.”
You scrub harder.
After a silent moment, Namjoon puts his hands over yours to still them. “It’s not just about the shirt, is it?”
He waits for you, like he always does because he knows you need a little time. He’d wormed his way into the deepest parts of your heart, but there would always be a final little fence you had to decide to take down. He was okay with that.
After a minute, you nod. Gently, he takes the dishcloth from you and sets it aside so he can hold your hands properly. Times like these he just wants to hug you and hope that would be enough to protect you from the world. You taught him that money, as much as it solved problems, was not everything.
He puts a finger under your chin and tips it up so he can see your face.
“I just..”
“Go on.” He encourages.
“I know we’ve been through this before, but I can’t help but feel like I’m a… I’m a burden.”
Funny, considering how you two started out. The sugar baby/parent lifestyle just wasn’t for you. You were a Bad Ass Bitch who didn't need anyone, and it was important to stay on brand.
“Like, I keep being on the receiving end and sometimes I just feel like I can’t do anything for you. You spend so much money on me. The other day after we went shopping you bought me such lovely fruits to stock my fridge, and even got me a new heater for my room when it’s cold, and now you’re making me coffee because I sent you that post on Instagram and I just….
“If you didn’t have to come to my stupid old apartment you shirt would still be clean and I …“ You gesture vaguely at him and then at yourself.
“You give me so much. And well, I’m… just me.” You say finally.
Namjoon’s just been listening as you ramble, face unreadable. He;s got his business face on and you can’t tell if he’s angry with you or not.
“So you feel like you can’t do anything for me.”
You nod.
“Is that why you’ve been avoiding the topic every time I ask you to move in with me?”
You nod again.
“Look, _____. I want you to listen to me. Like really listen.” His hands move to cup your face, eyes now staring intently into yours.
“You give me something in this world no amount of money can buy. You make me feel whole. You make me feel excited that I get to do life’s most mundane things with you. Even if it involves drinking dishwater coffee.”
That last part gets a small smile out of you, so he knows you’re in the clear.
“I know you’re not used to receiving nice things, because the world hasn’t given you much of it. I hate that. What I do for you, I do with my whole heart. I will continue to want to do these things for you for as long as you’ll let me.
“And maybe if I keep doing them one day you will see how everything, everything I do for you pales terribly in comparison to what you give to me by just existing.”
You’re so overwhelmed with emotion so you just respond lamely “o..okay.”
In your head, your two braincells clap enthusiastically as they crown you honorary president of the Idiot Club.
Namjoon sighs and rests his hands on the countertop on either side of you so he can look at you eye to eye. You look so pretty like this, he thinks. Eyes vulnerable and lips soft, just like you should be. He hates the world for treating you so cruelly.
“And for the record, I insist on spending time here I noticed you’re more… yourself than at my place. I want you to feel comfortable.”
“That’s not true.” You raise your chin petulantly, because you’re slightly prideful that way and don't want to acknowledge that Namjoon sees through you clear as day.
“Don’t argue with me.”
Namjoon narrows his eyes fractionally, his gaze darkening, and suddenly you’re very aware that you’re caged in. Not that you were complaining but was it suddenly really hot in here?
“I’m not arguing.”
“Yes you are." He's lowered his voice and its taken on a huskier tone.
“You know that everything I do, I do out of love for you. And I will damn well put up with your apartment with no complaints if it means you will feel more at ease.”
This man was going to give you whiplash with the way he made the most loving words sound like filth.
You lower your gaze, just the way you know he likes, and look up at him through your lashes. Two could play that game. You see a spark ignite in his eyes.
“I know.”
“You know, what?”
“I know, sir.”
“Good. Now why don’t I finish making you that coffee, and then we can go back to my place and we’ll see what you really know.”
With that, he releases you to get the milk from the fridge, and you spin around to place one hand on the countertop and one hand over your chest. You suck in a breath you didn’t know you were holding. A few seconds longer and you’d have -
A sharp cracking noise from behind you quickly sweeps any indecent thoughts clean out of your mind.
You turn to find Namjoon looking at you with an incredibly apologetic expression, holding a black piece of plastic which what seems to be -
“Did you break the handle off my fridge?”
-
Three days later he’s sporting the same apologetic expression, the only difference is that you two are separated by a towering, stainless steel monstrosity that now sits in the middle of your living room, leaving you two to converse by having to look around the sides of it.
“I’m sorry, ___. I didn’t know it’d be this big.”
“That’s what she said.”
You peer around the corner with a cheeky grin. He gives you a look that’s half withering and half amused. “Mature.”
Reassessing the appliance in front of you, you throw your hands up in the air.
“For the love of sweet god, Namjoon. This fridge is ridiculous. I’m not feeding the entire village. You’ve seen my apartment, how did you think this was going to work?!”
“I dont know, okay? I just called my home decor guys and told them to send you the same fridge I have!”
You sigh heavily and shut your eyes. The man was so intelligent, but days like this you wonder if sometimes his brain took unpaid leave.
“My house is literally a third the size of your closet.”
If this wasn’t your house you might have found it a little bit funny. But it is your house.
You wait, but there’s just silence from his end, so you continue.
“What do you expect me to do with this monstrosity? Take a fucking winter holiday in it?! We can’t even -“ you kick the sofa for emphasis.
Pausing because he’s still unusually quiet, you stretch to look around the fridge again. He’s on his phone, tapping away in furious concentration.
“What are you doing?”
“Give me a minute.”
Oh no.
“What are you doing.”
“Relax, my love, I’m fixing the problem.” He waves you off nonchalantly. “Give me a minute.”
“Are you calling the delivery men to take this back?”
There is a genuinely confused look on his face when he looks up.
“What? No. Don’t be silly. I’m texting my real estate agents. They’re getting you a new house so this fridge will fit.”
NAJVERSE: collisions of fates
(in this story,I saw some stories evolved xahji & snazzy how they gotten together in a different way...this one has interference)
Xahji was thrilled to meet her online childhood friend,charmy.
She met him on online when she was only in elementary through his dad,who had been friends with charm's older brother,trinket,she had seen his posts from his brother & was really intrigued because charm looked like a cute femmine boy.
She also had heard he likes to make cute little jewelries from small seashells & coneshells as well.
Infact she has one he gave from her birthday,she was really happy because the bracket she received was beautiful.
But everything changes when her friend mentioned in their chat that he had met someone one online as well,he said he once met him on real life,because he ordered the sports keychain he made,it turns out the boy likes sports especially baseball,he also mention the only reason he met him in real life because his other brother had met the mom of the boy he met,so that's how he met him personally.
It was middle school now,xahji couldn't wait to see her friends & of course her crush...snazzy,she met him on the start of middle school years through her friend swifty,she found out snazzy never goes the same school with them on elementary & kindergarten because he was put on different school on that time,so this was her first time to meet him.
Needles to say,she was in love,it's been 1 1/2 years since she met snazzy,when she saw them,she greeted them but then she saw something else.
Snazzy walking & was laughing with someone else,she couldn't make out their silhouette but for some reason is like she had seem them before,so she decided to get close to them,once she got the full veiw.
She was shocked,there besides snazzy was none other than charmnyxia,her online childhood friend?!,how they did even know each other? More importantly how come she didn't know charm was registered in their school?!.
When charm turn his head & saw her,he smiled & called out"hey xahji!",xahji. Snapped out of her daze & looked at charm with a suprise expression & says"charm?"
Snazzy was suprised as well & looked at charm with a bewildered expression & said"you guys know each other",charm then chimed up saying"yep!she was the other online friend I was telling you about the same way I told her about you!,what? You guys know each other or some thing?"
Swifty saw him & says"charm!!!"he then almost tackled hugged him,charmy laughed & says"is nice to see you too! My little swifty!"swifty let go of him & says" I didn't know you are going in me & xahji's school?"charm then said"yeah,my brother enrolled me here because of Rigel."xahji paused & asked suprise"Rigel? As in Rigel luminescent solitaire?!,you know him" charm looked at her & says"yep! He & my brother used to work together".
All the three we're schocked,in truth their school have been provided by some help by the solitaire company for donation,it was run by asura luminescent,the ceo of the company.
Charm was confused & asked"what's the matter?" snazzy then says in shocked voice"charm,did you know that Rigel was the son of-" "the solitaire company's ceo?,yeah I know" swifty then gonna ask how but charm says"guys I think we have to go,class is starting & maybe I can tell you guys later one about it?"
All the three just nodded,as they got in their classes soon as possible,it was gonna be a new interesting year with a new student in their class,mostly the one had been online childhood friends with their famous baseball player & the soon to be photographer as well.
The one cat still hasn't pew pewed her kittens, looks big as a whale, and is acting like she doesn't give two shits.
I have purchased a new chair and was only $100 brand new but it's nicer than those ones made mostly of mesh and the less said about it until its put together and I'm sitting on it the better but the store demo was nice.
In a toss up if I'm going to keep the boy chest with my Obitsu 60 head in his next stage of life or not. I'm actually more miffed that his eyes have changed because they were blue green when I bought them and now they're a dark blue but he's okay with them.
If any of my doll peeps might be interested in a yellowed and otherwise discolored Obitsu 60 from 2007, all parts and a possible spare boy chest please submit a good reason why along with links to your previous doll doings. I'm not screwing around with someone doesn't get how as-is condition everything is. I'm just done screwing around with shoulder and hip joints that don't work with how he likes to plat Spider-Man or what ever it is he does when I'm not looking.
Several ideas have come to me for his replacement body and if I go out today I do need to get soft toy stuffing to begin my experiments. I do have flour sack fabric to play with.
All I'm going to say is one of the serendipities of all the work I did to learn to make my own patterns and falling down a costume fetish rabbit hole gave me the almost forgot I had it knowledge to fix him. The skeleton body idea is not a bad one, will still look for one, but Shi Shi and I have both agreed he misses the time when he got to go out and be fearless. And we're chasing the high of a toddler conversing with him and offering him Cheerios.
Or go to the mall, walk in to an accessory store, and tell the clerk your doll needs keychain shoes. Met a district manager for Converse one time and told them if they made matching pairs there would be a whole market for them and Shi Shi wouldn't have to wear shoes that said Conversation on them. They still don't make pairs.
But I did learn baby socks fit big 70cm resin feet.
👻🎃HALLOWEEN🎃👻Shop Update October 2021✨
Halloween always ends up being the biggest update, as I see the garish, candy colored, spooky but adorable aesthetic one of the main cornerstones of the shop, and I always savor my most exquisitely tricky treats for this time of the year. These products are going up in the shop over the course of the next three days, until Halloween. In the meantime, let me show you a little teaser for everything.
Tumblr media
Let's start with what I'm the most excited to tell you about: these amazing tarot card charms that you may get to wear both in earring and necklace form. They are based on the original Rider-Waite-Smith deck and look just like the real thing, except more durable and smaller. At this moment, I have every Major Arcana card available as well as the unforgettable heartbreaker, the Three of Swords. But the stock is limited, so make sure to come check it out and grab your favourite before it's sold out.
Tumblr media
There are two listings with cute and sparkly, forbidden candy charms that I didn't hand-pour myself but I felt they magnificently fit with the aesthetic I was going for. Hence they are quite affordable but still just as flashy, if you are looking for something in the lower price ranges. These semi-heart-shaped pendants (I would like to think that they are intended as planchettes though I'm not sure) come in the entire spectrum of the rainbow and many different glittery variants. Or check out this absolutely adorable pair of witchy familiars. All of these are available either as earrings or pendant.
Tumblr media
If you remember the fruit cocktail earrings from the summer update, I will make a new version of this, with nothing changed except that instead of fruit slices it's SPOOKY EDITION with Halloween-themed sprinkles.
Tumblr media
I was really excited for these adorable Halloween-themed bezels. At the end, I paired most of them up as asymmetrical earrings, and filled them with glow in the dark resin. The moon pendant was the Chosen One™ as it ended up being the centerpiece of a jewelry set that simultaneously looks like the least classy and yet most extravagant thing ever. This is exactly why I named it after a carnival. At any rate, my heart was truly in it - everything but the acrylic chain was hand assembled from scratch, and every piece of this set that is of resin, including the beads, was handmade.
Tumblr media
I came up with this new product idea, for those who would also like to spice up their outfit or surroundings with some colorful goodness but they themselves don't wear jewelry. Hence I made these clip charms that you can put on your keychain, bag, pencil case etc. I made three for starters, just to show what they could be like, but if you want you can get a personalized one in your choice of color(s). Almost everything you see in my shop as jewelry can be made into a clip charm as long as they are in stock, so don't be shy contacting me with your ideas.
Let it be said that Táltos Trinkets supports vagabonds of all shapes and sizes; there is no trick too subtle, or trickster too small, that we would not seek to supply. Take some of our hidden aces for the road, to make sure you always have enough for your playing card based deceptions.
Tumblr media
Of course, I physically cannot hold myself back from making at least one thing for every update that glows in the dark and this time round we have PLENTY. I am absolutely thrilled to let you know, that the "Eavesdrops" stud earring collection, aka. the Forbidden Cereal, is extended by as many as 22(!) new shapes.
This is something that I think many of you will love: I have opened my own miniature apothecary and am now offering glowing potions in several shapes and sizes. They don't come imbued with any sort of magical property or anything, but I think they would make an amazing spirit vessel or talisman.
Something equally witchy but already familiar, the "snearrings" are also making a shiny and glorious comeback.
Tumblr media
I also made a whole bunch of large ouija planchette shaped pendants. These are completely handmade from scratch (minus the pattern, which I didn't carve or design but I did overpaint it by hand). There are two collections. One is metal colored and has a cool, murky, marble-like effect overall (for the classic sepia edgy-witchy aesthetic) and the other is holographic sparkle infused pastel (for my more modern, cute fairy kei, technowitch types of peeps - I see you!).
Tumblr media
Technically not strictly Halloween themed but it's been in the works for a long time and it did get finished, so. Here is a new widely customizable item: earrings or necklace with your own personalized 8-bit letters for a cute and campy cyberpunk look. I made all of the examples say "GAME OVER" but you can have any text that you want.... well, within reason LOL. Unfortunately the "medium" has some constraints but about 4 letters per earring is ideal, and I could probably get around fitting up to 18 letters on a single necklace if it can be layered. These are available both in "normal" and glow in the dark versions, ofc.
Tumblr media
And last but most importantly - this is without a doubt my personal favourite. A pair of ghosts, one with an adorable smile and the other with a mischievous grin. They come in pairs as an earring, but you can get either of them as a necklace, or even a clip charm.
Thank you for sticking around for my spooky tour, and I hope you enjoyed this update! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃👻✨🍬🔮🕯️🍭
PS. If you order something Halloween themed, be assured that it will be packed accordingly. Lol
Issue 2: Interview with Hannah Depop: @guthball
Tumblr media
Q: What brought you to Depop? How long have you had your shop? Did you/Do you sell anywhere else?
A: Depop appealed to me because it's so clear that its basis is in community. I’ve been able to connect, collaborate and create for cool people I might’ve never clicked with otherwise, and I actually, really, truly cherish that. Plus, the layout and features are so user-friendly, there’s never been an intimidation factor. I created an account about two years ago. And I’m still here, maybe just because they added the video feature...
The reception of my art from depop users has been so gratifying. I would not have immersed myself in resin so extensively without that encouragement. It wasn’t long before I joined depop that I began experimenting with the medium; I loved the look, but had no idea what its creation entailed. So I took in a few tutorials, bought a kit, and have grown, or attempted to, from there.
Tumblr media
The entrepreneurial bug bit me early. My mom owns and operates a drycleaners, and has allowed me to sell there since I was a kid. It began with hand-drawn bookmarks, friendship bracelets, that kind of thing. Now, I have a display of resin magnets and keychains there. I do local shows here and there, too. Mostly for fun, profit’s never promised. It’s always worth it, though, just to gauge reactions to my work- I love answering questions on process, seeing little kids play with the magnets, or experiencing the moment someone takes a closer look at something I made and really GETS it.
Tumblr media
Q: (Your magnet faces make me so happy to look at!) How long have you been making them for, and what inspired the making of these characters?
A: I’m so glad you enjoy the face magnets! They are a blast to make. I just looked through my photos to see how long ago I made my first- it was back to September of 2016. Wow. That piece now resides with my sister, totally forgot it.
A lot of my work is influenced by quirks in process and material, the expression pieces are no exception. At their inception, I’d done a few projects with encapsulated googly eyes before, and had a bunch of sequins I'd bought to make flower accents. It was around then that I realized that the plastic formed packaging from my jewelry findings could be repurposed as a smooth, glossy tile mold, in a range of sizes PERFECT for magnets and other accessories. Toony faces have always been my go-to in drawing, and these introduced a way to marry my illustration style with resin work. I've put together so many goofy lookers now, made out of all sorts of materials, and set in all kinds of molds. I've refined my technique, but still never really know how (/if!) they’ll come together until they’re popped out. The features are all cut and glued, then layered in backwards, so I don’t have a great view as they cure. Pieces can shift, bubbles can sneak their way in, some materials distort when submerged in resin. It can be a challenge to make sure nothing's too out of place, but the glitches can be where the character sneaks in.
I mostly improvise the face designs, but sometimes, just to shake up the procedure, I doodle ideas out beforehand. There’s definitely inspiration from drag, from cartoons, from geometry, texture, and color. I know there’s one with a pout I ripped straight from a photo of my sister- I'm into the idea of full-on custom magnetic portraiture, but no one’s come to me requesting their likeness in sequins and googly eyes yet. The fact that kids think they're fun is also a huge influence: that motivates me to make them as kooky and colorful as I can. There is a selection that made it to a preschool classroom, and it’s been reported back to me that all the kids like to play and even fight over them. I love that!
Tumblr media
Q: Do you have any favorite artists that inspire you?
A: She’s inspired by way too many artists!!! A few off the top of my head: Keith Haring, Hattie Stewart, Jillian Evelyn, Betsey Johnson, Parker Day, Shantell Martin, Siobhan Gallagher, Kendra Dandy, Tuesday Bassen, Erté, Klimt, Kay Nielsen, Man Ray, Chagall, Dalí, Hirschfeld, Picasso, Gary Baseman, Kenny Scharf, Neal Levin. If that’s not a weird and wide enough swath... I follow hundreds, if not thousands, of creators of all sorts on instagram. Admittedly extensive, but a wonderful pool of inspiration to dip into.
I have always had an interest in the arts, and (…aquarius here) make a point to be very open to all sorts of visuals. I’m content to take everything in, and very much, like, “like like like”-- it’s a whole thing when I don’t care for something, but I try not to play critic so much. I’m normally drawn to really graphic work, yet down to take the time to appreciate subtleties as well. I gravitate toward what’s wacky, clever, bold, evocative, sparkly, dimensional… a lot of stark contrast as well, a lot of black and white. But also a lot of pink and kitsch. I'm a maximalist, I obsess. That might just be reflected in my work.
And, duh, I admire other resin artists. The medium is SO versatile and I love to see its limits stretched. I put a lot into distinguishing my style from others who create with resin, but there’s major inspo in what everyone else is coming up with! Shout out to my fellow resin-making depoppers :) I’d also like to mention Lauralee Benjamin (if you're not familiar, please change that immediately), who has found inventive ways to use my pieces as accents on her beautiful work. That collaboration is all thanks to depop, and has inspired me in ways I never could have expected.
Tumblr media
Q:What is some of your process when you create? (Do you listen to music, create alone or with friends, where is your work space?)
A:Oh my god. It’s all over the place. A lot of my process is just seeing what I can get away with.
So much can go wrong; resin is a finicky substance. I employ a variety of techniques, many developed through trial and error. I try to create unique effects, or emulate things I’ve seen before in my own way. Many of my projects are worked in layers, transformed with each pour. It can be as simple as mixing a bunch of glitters together. Even that can be tricky, though! I can get very in my head about intricacies, and try to balance the detail-oriented with simpler projects, or whatever'll give me a break from the eyestrain. Most of my stuff comes from sitting down at my workspace, assessing my supplies, and sorting it out from there. Once I have a batch of resin mixed, it's a race to get it divided into colors and divvied into molds. At times it requires a lot of precision, and a willingness to just wait it out and see what’ll happen.
Tools and materials dictate much of the process. I have a few staples, but keep an eye out for new supplies just about everywhere. I get the biggest kick out of repurposing components that might’ve otherwise been trashed. Think broken jewelry, old cosmetics, sequin scraps, and single-use plastics. I intend to look into eco-resin and biodegradable glitters down the line; it’s a matter of cost and accessibility, but adjustments I find necessary, at least for my own sake, in continuing with this art form.
At the end of last year I cleared a space in my (creepy) basement as a studio. It’s kept a hectic mess, but… that’s my nature. I work alone, save for a few times my sister has joined me. Friends have been invited to try in the past, but considering resin is such a time-sensitive, kind of hazardous, sticky thing, it’s not a great group activity for the uninitiated.
I work to an, errr, eclectic mix of podcasts and music. A lot of Sondheim, disco, Comedy Bang! Bang! and CBC Radio 2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Q: What is your favorite piece you've sold so far?
A: Oooh, toughie. The first that comes to mind is one of the first sequin trays I made- it was a really specific rainbow pattern inspired by a book cover. I also love the custom name necklaces; they always turn out so badass! In a few instances, I've made pieces used in photo shoots or performance. Those are extra special to me, too.
Tumblr media
Q: Where do you want to go next with your art?
A: My art is going to morph. I want to hone my skill in areas beyond resin, and then find ways to blend the edges. I want to keep pushing, but know when to pull back. I wish to collaborate more, to find solutions I’ve not yet reached, to make some of my outlandish ideas a bit more tangible. I want to build a brand and learn to accrue my worth for once.
And, maybe, down the line, tile a room with a mosaic of resin faces.
Tumblr media
Q: What is your favorite fashion era?
A: I love an outrageous 80’s moment.
Q: Do you do commissions?
A: I adore doing commissioned work, and have had so much fun on prior personalized pieces. I am currently open to fulfilling some custom requests, just DM me, whatever!
Gachapon
           “They’re kinda cute, don’t you think?”
           Jounouchi only scowled at the little resin doll. It was small enough to fit between his thumb and forefinger, if they stretched out a little, and glared obnoxiously back at him with disgustingly ‘chibified’ features. He rocked the doll back and forth in his hand, sticking his tongue out as if the miniature Kaiba Seto was the man himself. Anzu sighed and rolled her eyes as she turned the crank on the machine again; a small ball emblazoned with the KaibaCorp logo fell out. Gently she popped it open with a short giggle.
           “Got him.” She said proudly, turning to display her new keychain decoration to the blonde teen. He tore his eyes away from his internal argument with the resin Kaiba to look at Anzu’s Gachapon catch of the day. As if Yugi couldn’t get smaller, here he sat in the crook of Anzu’s hands with a smile painted obliviously onto his face. She quickly clipped it onto the top of her phone with her other catches—a small resin Bakura Ryou, a small resin Kujaku Mai, and a generic Rare Hunter charm of a man in a cloak with his face obscured.
The most common one was the last; Anzu had actually tossed several of them. Jounouchi supposed every Gachapon pull needed at least one junk draw but the Rare Hunters seemed like it was in bad taste. It wasn’t like anyone was going to get it aside from the finalists. Maybe Kaiba just wanted to mock them, or tout that he had destroyed the organization. Likely without acknowledging their contributions.
           He’s such a goddamn jerk.
           “There are three tiers of rarity for this new ‘Best of Duelists’ gachapon line, you know..” Anzu rambled on, gently rubbing the small Yugi doll on the head before tossing her phone back in her bag. Jounouchi only grunted in acknowledgement as he shoved the Kaiba doll in his jacket pocket, following after the girl. “The first tier are these generic cloaked bad guys. The second tier is Noted Duelists. The third tier is the Best of Duelists. They’re the hardest to get. That Kaiba one is pretty rare, I think, so you got really lucky!”
           Don’t let him bother you was laced into her tone but he didn’t acknowledge it. They had to meet Yugi at Burger World but the brunette had insisted on stopping by the arcade to see their new Gachapon machines. He had told her to just go to Kame Game Shop, since they had the same machines, but she had told him that she wanted to surprise Yugi. Probably why they had spent an hour trying to GET Yugi out of the machine. It didn’t surprise him; Kaiba was an asshole but he had to acknowledge that Yugi deserved to be respected as the best of the best.
           Meanwhile I’m probably not even in that dumbass machine. Such a prick.
           “Hey! HEY! Guys, where have you been?”
           Jounouchi looked up sharply; Yugi was running down the steps of the fast food joint with a hop in his step. When he came to a stop in front of them, a smile spread across his face. The duelist just had that kind of a smile; the kind that made you forget what you were annoyed about, shoving Jounouchi’s irritation to the back of his head. He grinned widely back, throwing an arm around the smaller teen’s shoulder while Anzu chuckled at the sight.
           “Sorry we took so long. I had to pick SOMETHING up!” Anzu flashed her phone to Yugi, the small charm bouncing off the back to cast a mirror of his contagious happiness back to his counterpart. Yugi gasped loudly, a blush spreading across his phone when he realized that HE was clasped onto ANZU’S phone of all places. Jounouchi watched in amusement as the shorter teen babbled through talking to her about how nice it was and how good she was at Gachapon while the girl shook her head with a nervous laugh, explaining how long it had actually taken.
           “Why d’ya think we took so long to get here, huh?” Jounouchi quipped. “She wanted to get THAT specific one, y’know?”
           Anzu flushed. “Shut up, Jounouchi. You’re just mad because you only tried once.”
           “Jounouchi tried too?” Interrupted Yugi, excitement in his eyes. Internally the blonde cursed the girl; he should’ve known better. Every time he tried to tease Anzu, she brought it back at him tenfold. “What’d you get, Jounouchi? We just got those machines in at the shop, so I haven’t been able to try them yet.”
           “Uh, I didn’t get nothing special.” He lied, trying to pass it off as he desperately wished he had just tossed the dumb resin keychain. But Anzu said it was rare, which probably meant it was valuable, so he had thought he could hock it to some dumb kid fanboy of the Kaiba Corporation. Whatever money he could’ve gotten from it didn’t really seem worth it now.
           “Come on, don’t be that way.” Anzu scolded, reaching swiftly into Jounouchi’s pocket to snag the doll. Ignoring the blonde’s protests, she presented the small Kaiba to Yugi. It scowled back at him just as the real Kaiba would regularly scowl at the other duelist. It didn’t seem to phase Yugi, though; if anything, he seemed amazed by it. “Jounouchi got the Kaiba one. He’s just being a big baby about it.”
           “Whoa, you got that one on your first try?! That’s really lucky, Jounouchi. We got a rarity index for the Best of Duelists Gachapon back at the shop. The highest tier is pretty impossible to get.” Yugi seemed to glow with excitement; anything to do with games brought the best of the boy out of his shell. He pulled out his phone to search through the internet, presenting the results back to his friends. They leaned in; it looked to be an index of the full content of the new Gachapon, as well as which rarity tiers each resin keychain doll would be in.
           At the lowest tier was, as Jounouchi had expected, was the generic ‘Rare Hunter’ designs—although they weren’t labeled as Rare Hunters, just as ‘Hunters’. The second tier was the widest one containing Bakura, Mai, Pegasus, and all of the Ishtar siblings. The final row was outlined in bright gold and emblazoned with the series title, Best of Duelists. The smiling Yugi Gachapon doll sat in the number one slot, while the Kaiba Gachapon doll sat aside it scowling at him from the number two slot. Seemed about right. Jounouchi raised a surprised eyebrow at the third member of the Best of Duelists rank.
           Better known as himself.
           The doll stood triumphant, a look of self-confidence plastered across the resin facial features. One hand was held out in challenge, a tiny card lodged between the small fingers, with his other arm pulled back with a purposely battered looking duel disk clasped to the forearm. At that point the real Jounouchi’s brain just kind of shut off, unable to make sense of his placement—he hadn’t even expected to be in KaibaCorp’s shitty Gachapon draw, much less one of the top three rarest dolls in the pool.
           He sat back with his arms crossed. His lower lip jutted out in thought, and his head tilted to the side to let untrimmed blonde hair tickle his cheeks. Anzu and Yugi watched him curiously, almost cautiously, as the ex-delinquent duelist took his sweet time digesting the paper in front of him. To their relief, a cheeky and broad smile finally stretched across Jounouchi’s face—and, Yugi noted with a tinge of worry, his smile was somewhat smug and overconfident.
           That….could mean trouble.
           “It has been GREAT seeing you guys but I gotta head back to the arcade—”
           “Grampa said my friends can get a discount on the Gachapon right now at the game shop.”
           “….I gotta be heading over to the game shop, it’s been a while since we’ve just popped in and said hi to Gramps! Come on, come on, no point waiting around, don’t wanna waste time and money or whatever it is they say…” Jounouchi said impatiently. Yugi rolled his eyes with a small smile on his face as he was pushed in the direction he had come from, exchanging a knowing glance with the brunette girl aside him. Anzu could barely restrain her giggles.
           “So, uh, how many of them did you buy, exactly?”
           Jounouchi grinned, rocking the little resin version of himself next to his face as he sat on his desk facing Yugi. The triumphant grin on the doll was reflected perfectly on his face. “A lot. I think I got all of them but, eh, don’t really care. If you and Anzu want ‘em then they’re yours. I got what I wanted.”
           “Yourself?” Anzu asked, eyebrow raised.
           “It’s more than that. It’s—”
           The moment that Jounouchi trailed off and locked onto Kaiba Seto entering the room, it all suddenly all clicked together for Yugi and he sunk back into his chair to prepare for impact. The blonde jumped over the desks to skid to a halt in front of the CEO’s desk, one fist on his hip and one presenting the resin doll that so oddly seemed to mirror his current confident pose. Kaiba cast a brief glance at the keychain and then snapped his eyes to the face of the shorter blonde in front of him. Yugi groaned; even from across the room he could almost see Kaiba’s eye twitching in annoyance.
           “Is there something you’d like to discuss or are you just wasting my time as usual, bonkotsu?” Kaiba said distastefully, briefly trying to shove past Jounouchi. The other duelist wasn’t having it, moving to plant himself right on the top of Kaiba Seto’s desk and ignoring the attention that they were gaining from the class. “Get off of my desk, you mongrel. I don’t have time for your idiocy today or any day.”
           “You put me in the Best of Duelists top tier rank for the Gachapon.”
           Silence overtook the classroom for several minutes as Kaiba stared down the blonde and his resin toy. If Jonouchi hadn’t known better then he would’ve thought that the brunette duelist was trying to will him out of existence, or burn a hole straight through his skull to get rid of him once and for all. The dark, annoyed look in his eyes definitely spoke that in spades.
           It didn’t explain the slightest hints of a flush around Kaiba’s ears, though.
           “…Company mandates.” Kaiba finally said, slamming his bookbag down on Jounouchi’s middle. The blonde coughed and slammed against the wall beside Kaiba’s desk. “When the Kaiba Corporation assembled all their duelist data you ended up being tallied into the third place. So congratulations, a computer data system really thinks you are incredibly talented. It’s certainly a pity that computers have such a regrettable margin of error.”
           “It took me three hours to get this damn thing!”
           “You spent three hours at a Gachapon machine. Congratulations. You’re even more of an idiot nobody than I had previously assumed.” Kaiba said flatly. Jounouchi flushed in embarrassment, feeling the sharp points of the resin doll poking against his hand as he clutched it into a fist. “Get off my desk, Jounouchi. If you want to waste your own time, that’s fine, but don’t waste mine.”
           “…You’re such a fucking asshole, Kaiba.” Jounouchi muttered, finally sliding off Kaiba’s desk and moping back to his own seat. His bait went ignored; the brunette only sat in his own seat as the teacher strode in to begin writing on the blackboard with a strained smile on her face. Yugi patted the blonde on the back comfortingly but Jounouchi could only manage a nod of acknowledgement, staring instead down at the confident little doll in his hands.
           It looked a lot more confident than he felt right now.
           The only thing that managed to take him out of his moping was his battered, barely functional old cellphone vibrating slightly in his pocket. He clipped the gachapon prize to his jacket and flipped open the phone underneath the wood of his desk. The teacher had stopped bothering to tell him to put the damn thing away but old habits really did die hard. It was just a bunch of text messages—from Kaiba Mokuba. The young millionaire had marked them as ‘important’ but Mokuba did that with a lot of texts that didn’t really have any cause for alarm.
           Jounouchi found that he got along with the younger Kaiba much better than he did the elder. While Mokuba was, in his own way, a bit of a stuck up brat he still was capable of embracing fun. He had never made it much of a habit to hang out with kids but after Duelist Kingdom and Battle City, the wild haired heir had made it clear that he enjoyed the company of Yugi and his friends whether his brother liked it or not. Ever so often he would ring one of them up about something he was excited about and more often than not it turned out to be enjoyable. And while Mokuba had picked up on Kaiba’s insulting mannerisms towards Jounouchi, it hadn’t been hard to tell that Mokuba favored the blonde more than anyone in the group apart from maybe Yugi.
           It got a small chuckle out of him. At least not all the Kaibas were complete dicks.
M-KC [Kaiba Mokuba]: Hey Jounouchi!
M-KC [Kaiba Mokuba]: I got a list of upcoming card releases for the next fiscal year
M-KC [Kaiba Mokuba]: You and Yugi wanna see?
M-KC [Kaiba Mokuba]: They’re in the Simulator already and everything, you can try them out if you want
           As soon as the teacher was facing the blackboard again, Jounouchi nudged Yugi and held his phone out to the smaller boy. The joy that spread across his face was just as contagious as usual; he figured he could take that as a yes and brought his phone back under the desk. A small chuckle caught in his throat to avoid being caught—Yugi was not subtle in the slightest. The king of games looked right ready to explode with anticipation at the idea of seeing the new releases. Jounouchi couldn’t blame him. Even Kame Shop didn’t get the official Industrial Illusions card lists until mandated.
Wheeler [Jounouchi Katsuya]: lol if u could see the look on Yug’s face
Wheeler [Jounouchi Katsuya]: u’d think he won the lottery or something
Wheeler [Jounouchi Katsuya]: anyways
Wheeler [Jounouchi Katsuya]: where u want us to meet u
M-KC [Kaiba Mokuba]: I’ll send someone to pick you guys up after school.
Wheeler [Jounouchi Katsuya]: 1 of those fancy limos?
M-KC [Kaiba Mokuba]: In your dreams, Jounouchi.
           He snickered and stuffed his phone back into his pocket. The kid definitely wouldn’t send a limo, but knowing the typical Kaiba brothers procedure, he WOULD send over some fancy hybrid car complete with a chauffeur and a bodyguard. Mokuba was not shy about his wealth like some kids might have been. Then again, as Jounouchi’s phone rumbled again and went ignored, the blonde remembered that the boy wasn’t shy about many things.
           In fact, in many ways, he was way too damn forward for his own good.
M-KC [Kaiba Mokuba]: You should bring Shizuka too.
M-KC [Kaiba Mokuba]: She likes chocolate, right?
           Damn cheeky kid.
           He had to admit that he was still a little unused to being in Kaiba Manor. He never felt particularly posh but there was something about an army of maids that succeeded in making Jounouchi Katsuya feel like an unwashed heathen. If he didn’t know better than he would’ve assumed that Kaiba had them all greet Mokuba and him at the door just to make him feel out of place. He grimaced at the thought—who did he think he was kidding? That was exactly the sort of thing Kaiba would do.
           “Welcome home, Master Mokuba! Welcome to the Kaiba Manor, honored guest of Master Mokuba!” They chorused so loudly that the sound reverberated against the walls of the wide foyer. Instinctually Jounouchi shoved his hands in his pocket, wishing desperately that Yugi hadn’t been forced to make the decision no one should have to make: his passion for his hobby versus his passion for his crush. In the end, Yugi had apologized profusely and gone to the movie with Anzu. Jounouchi was nearly certainly they were dating at this point and just keeping it under the table.
           It still left him high and dry and feeling awkward as hell standing in the Kaiba Manor being led down the halls by Mokuba. He’d been here before, of course, but always with Yugi or Otogi or even Honda…never solely by himself. It hadn’t seemed to faze the younger Kaiba but Jounouchi himself was waiting for his brunette sibling to jump out from behind the corner to throw him out.
           “Hey, you got your own keychain doll.” Jounouchi blinked; he had forgotten it was even still clipped onto his jacket. But Mokuba was tugging at the small resin figure and nodding approvingly. “That’s one of the rarer ones. I have ‘em all, of course, courtesy of the manufacturing department. But nii-sama told me it meant more if I got them on my own so I’ve been cranking the gachapon at the arcade a few times a day just for the hell of it.”
           “Taking it at a slow pace, huh?” Jounouchi managed a strained grin. “You can have this one if you want. I don’t really want it anymore.”
           Mokuba blinked large, uncomprehending purple eyes at him. “What? This one is hard to get. That’s stupid. These things are pretty valuable to the right person, you know. I haven’t even gotten it from the arcade yet. That old bastard who runs it told me that its been the rarest drop so far.”
           “Yeah, well, it don’t mean anything.” Jounouchi mumbled.
           “Jeez, not in a good mood or something?” Mokuba mused, crossing his arms and fixing Jounouchi with that patented look of disapproval. It made the blonde want to roll his eyes. The younger Kaiba may be the more tolerable of the two, but he was picking up on his brother’s habits way too much. His expressions were starting to mirror Kaiba Seto’s. “You wanna see the design works for them?”
           “Huh?”
           “Before we look at the cards. You wanna see the gachapon designs?”
           “You got ‘em on a USB or something? Who designed them, anyways? They did a pretty good job, at least.” Jounouchi muttered, holding the doll up towards the window; the soft yellow paints caught the sunlight coming through and formed almost an odd glow about the keychain. He was entranced with it for a moment before he caught the odd, almost confused, look that Mokuba was giving him. “What? What’s up?”
           “Uh…nothing, just…” Mokuba hesitated; he seemed conflicted on something. “…I think they’re in the file library, he usually puts design work in there after the product releases…come on.”
           Jounouchi wasn’t given a chance to protest as the wild haired child grabbed his arm and whisked him down the hallways. It was almost dizzying; Kaiba Manor always was. Sometimes the blonde wondered if it had been built as some sort of maze to trap and confuse anyone with under a million dollars in their bank account. The constantly curving passageways certainly gave credence to his theory. The thoughts were blown out of his head as they stopped in front of a pair of double doors. Mokuba pushed them open with no hesitation to reveal walls and walls of files cabinets.
           The blonde stood awkwardly in the disturbingly clean room as Mokuba flipped through the files inside. Something inside him wished he had dumped the gachapon toy. Those things had brought him nothing but annoyance and frustration so far. Finally, though, Mokuba let out a small confident chirp and threw one of the files down onto the white marble floor. His guest kneeled down with one eyebrow raised, pushing the papers away from each other.
           They looked like…designs.
           Toy designs.
           Gachapon toy designs.
           The Best of Duelist Gachapon toy designs.
           “Seto designed all the prizes by himself. The Best of Duelist collection has something of a pet project of his for the last few months.” Mokuba rolled his eyes with a smile and Jounouchi could almost feel the pride radiating off the middle schooler. “He spent so much damn time compiling the data for the collection. Went through a bunch of designs for each of the dolls.”
           “…That’s not what Kaiba said…”
           “Huh? Really?” Mokuba cocked his head to the side. “The heck did he tell you?”
           “He said that a computer compiled all the duelist data.” Jounouchi held up a secondary folder in the designs file—it was easily the thickest of the design folders. The rest seems to have a small collection of about nine or ten prototypes and a final design page. This one, however, was stuffed full of easily thirty to forty pages. The second he tried to pick it up, the paper within toppled out all over the floor. Mokuba let out a shriek and fumbled forward to push all the paper together.
           Jounouchi caught all of it anyways.
           Meticulous drawing after drawing stuffed together with paper clippings, each one highlighted with abnormally neat written notes. One was covered with a variety of golden yellow sample sheets, another with a variety of simple sketches noting the flow of the subject’s face. The strong curve of the nose, the broad smile, the surprisingly sharp and vibrant eyes cloaked under poorly trimmed blonde hair.  Several pages seemed dedicated to eyes—each colored and marked precisely with the correct and incorrect colors. Other seemed dedicated to poses—how to properly capture the subject’s mannerisms and confidence in posture without removing the warm and open feeling.
           He carefully picked up the design sheet marked as the final one and unclipped the doll at his waist, holding it up against the paper.
           Identical. Same pose, same expression, same feeling.
           Same Jounouchi Katsuya.
           Mokuba coughed awkwardly.
           Jounouchi managed to slip his fingers in between the papers and pull one out; a very simple charcoal drawing of himself wearing a very irritated expression. He recognized this one; they had been assigned as partners in art class one day and it hadn’t ended well. The blonde hadn’t even gotten around to doing the portrait assignment and Kaiba had left quickly after his partner obnoxiously removed to stay still, muttering curses under his breath. Apparently he had actually been working on the assignment rather than just bantering.
           And for a lot longer than that, apparently.
           “Look, Jounouchi, if you could maybe never tell nii-sama that I let you in here that would be…that would be just great, y’know?” Mokuba said awkwardly, just short of stuttering his words out. Jounouchi chuckled a bit, waving the charcoal doodle in his hands back and forth in Mokuba’s face. “What? You’re gonna tell him? Come on, Jounouchi, don’t be an asshole.”
           “I’ll stay quiet if you give me this one.”
           “Huh?”
           “Well, it IS of me, isn’t it? So that means it belongs to me, right?” Jounouchi said innocently. From the look on Mokuba’s face, the blonde’s logic didn’t check out—but he still needed to cover his own ass. Finally, he was treated with an exasperated sigh and a nod. “Great! I wasn’t even here today, then.”
           He didn’t catch the odd look of contemplation on the other boy’s face as he exited down the hallway, and Jounouchi didn’t much care either. A broad grin matching the toy clipped at his side now spread his face, confidence sparkling in brown eyes. So Kaiba Seto could say all he wanted that Jounouchi Katsuya was a dud, a loser, a has-been, a moron—but his files showed differently. The blonde had been thoroughly researched and planned for a pet project of THE teenage CEO himself. He wondered, briefly, if he should rub it in Kaiba’s face and decided against it.
           After all, it couldn’t mean any more than the designs and effort showing that he actually did consider Jounouchi not only capable but worth piles of his own effort.
           Maybe I’ll go get back the rest of those dolls from Anzu…
