Hello yes you see my exact vision I was also thinking Castlevania type vampire!!! In my mind she's also just sooooo smitten and taken back especially at first, like almost tsundere levels because how is this dude not terrified what is HAPPENING and he's just his regular "if a woman asked me to die I'd ask her how she wants it" self
This idea has bewitched me. Have a "drabble".
Silence was the status quo in your estate. This was simply the way it has been for centuries. Your days of travel and adventure were long behind you. Now you spent your endless days in quiet solitude. Reading your amassed book collection, tending to your gardens at night, indulging in hobbies both new and old, those kinds of activities. The only time when you would leave your property was when your thirst became impossible to ignore.
So imagine your shock when you heard a ruckus echoing through your halls. This wouldn't be the first time someone was foolish enough to enter you castle in hopes of stealing your riches for themselves, but they usually at least had the foresight to be silent.
Such is life, you suppose. You are a touch parched tonight.
With how loud your intruders are, locating them is a simple matter. Your steps make nary a sound as you walk down the well memorized halls, though you're sure you could get away with stomping to your heart's content without risking being heard.
Upon entering the foyer, you spot numerous people milling about, rather carelessly in your opinion. Nothing about your castle indicates that it's a vacant property, so you would think that they would exude at least some level of care and restraint. But no. Some boy in a tacky straw hat is running around like he owns the place, loudly yelling to his companions about how "cool" your decor is. At least he has taste.
A woman with orange colored hair is yelling at him to shut up before whoever lives here take notice of them. Too late for that. You wonder if she is the group's leader with how authoritatively she's speaking.
Several more people are meandering through the room and taking it in with awe... There also appears to be a small bipedal deer amongst them. How quaint. If nothing else, you can appreciate that they have made your night a little exciting.
The group proceeds to make this even easier for you by splitting up. It was more than apparent that they were completely oblivious to what kind of creature dwells here. They most definitely weren't skilled vampire hunters, that much could be assumed.
Time to begin the hunt. You slip through the shadows of your dimly lit abode and exit them in the main kitchen. An admittedly under utilized portion of your home due to the nature of what you are. It was maintained for appearance sake and nothing more. You loathed messes and filth.
Only one of the intruders was in here. A young, blond man with a cigarette dangling from his lips. He was eying the vast collection of copper cooking ware you had dangling from hanging racks, appearing to be quite impressed with them. He takes down one of the pans, running his thumb over the engraved handle.
"I do hope you're not planning on preparing a meal here. I must warn you, you'll find the pantry to be rather barren."
He jumps at your voice, nearly dropping the pan in the process. He whips around to stare at you, and you grin in response, making sure that your pronounced canines are more than visible to the man. Terror created a lovely tang in blood.
Fear was the expected response from anyone who bore witness to you. What exactly you were was plain to see since you took no care in masking it. You wanted your prey to know what they were up against. It kept things exciting. Would he scream in horror? Pitifully beg for his life? Hopefully he wouldn't faint, that would be dreadfully boring.
A gasp leaves the man, and then he runs. Not away, as you anticipated, but toward you. The man falls to his knees before you and clutches one of your clawed hands in his own. Are those... hearts in his eyes? What on earth?
"My fair lady! If I had known someone as beautiful as yourself was here, I would have made it my mission to greet you first!" He kisses the chilled skin of your hand, "My sincerest apologies for barging into your home. Though, if I'm being honest, I don't regret it. My life would have been worse off for never having seen you."
It's been an age since you've found yourself baffled by a mere human, and yet, "What manner of trickery is this?"
His eyes widen in surprise, and he scrambles to get up to his feet while still holding your hand in his. "I would never trick a lady! I'm being genuine! How can I make it up to you? Are you hungry? I'll make you something to eat right now!"
You eye him dubiously. His behavior is odd to say the least. For a moment you question if he's trying to distract you so his compatriots can sneak up on you. Using your powers to observe his group through the shadows, you find all of them wandering elsewhere. They aren't in on whatever scheme he's up to.
"I'm not interested in the kind of meal you are alluding to." You pull your hand free from his, with some effort, and bring it to your face. You drum your clawed fingers on your jawline in an attempt to give the man a clue as to what you are. Much to your chagrin, he does not appear to be paying attention.
All that he's focused on is staring into your eyes with an oddly... soft expression on his face. No one has ever looked so at ease in your presence. He sighs dreamily, "You have the most breathtaking eyes I've ever seen."
Many would consider you breathtaking in a sense, but more so because an encounter with you would result in someone never needing to take another breath ever again. However, that did not appear to be how he meant it. By all accounts, it seemed he was genuinely taken with your crimson eyes. What an odd man.
You begin to slowly circle him, examining him like a specimen. He continually turns so that he can always be facing you. "Tell me, what is your name?"
"How rude of me, I can't believe I forgot to introduce myself!" He bows with an exaggerated flourish, "Sanji, at your service, my dear!~"
An interesting name, but not one you recognize. That doesn't necessarily surprise you, given your hermit lifestyle. He's young, even if he has made a name for himself, it wouldn't have happened until very recently.
Sanji closes the gap between you and grabs your hands again, both this time, and holds them to his chest. "Do you have a name, or can I just call you mine?"
It's debatable if it's his cluelessness or audacity that floors you more. You let out an exasperated sigh and shake your head at him, "You haven't the slightest idea who you are talking to."
He tilts his head in confusion, "Well, no. That is why I asked for your name. I would like to get to know you."
"That is not what I meant." You free your hands yet again and grab his jaw with one, then start to pull him with you, "Come, boy."
"Yes, ma'am!" My, he's agreeable. There's a wetness on your hand that has you looking back at him, half-expecting him to be drooling with the way he's been acting. But you know what it is before you even fully look at him. The metallic tang reaches your senses first. A steady stream of blood is dripping out of his nose. Usually you have to try harder to get someone to bleed. Truly an odd man.
You bring him to an old silver mirror, "Look here." You watch his lone reflection, but he's solely focused on you. Oh, good lord, he is helpless. You squeeze his face and speak more firmly, "Look in the mirror, Sanji."
Finally, he looks in the mirror. His eyes immediately go to the left of his own reflection, where yours is supposed to be, but he doesn't find it. Confusion settles on his face once more. His eyebrows knit together as he looks at you, then the mirror, then you, then the mirror again.
There we go. You withdraw your hand and bring it to your mouth, "Are you understanding the situation that you are in? What is in the room with you?" You lap up the blood on your hand. It has a unique flavor profile that you've never experienced before. It's almost... spicy? You don't hate it.
In lieu of a coherent answer, Sanji makes a alight choking sound, accompanied by more blood gushing out of his nose. His face is bright red in spite of the blood loss.
A quiet chuckle escapes your blood red lips, "Is that a yes? Are you finally getting scared, dear Sanji?" You grab his tie and pull him closer, "I will be taking you up on your previous offer after all. I'm simply famished, and you'll make for a lovely little beginning course."
Sanji suddenly regains his composure and stands up straight, "You're hungry?" Without waiting for an answer from you, he loosens his tie and undoes some of the buttons on his shirt, then tilts his neck to the side and stares at you expectantly. You're dumbfounded.
"What on earth are you doing?"
"Giving you what you need. You're a vampire, right? Then you need blood, and I'm giving it to you." Every word is spoken very matter of factly, like all of this is just a given. As if it's completely normal to offer up your life to a demon of the night.
Is this a trap, or is this man insane? "You're giving it to me? You are aware that I can kill you, are you not? This is typically the point where one would be running for their life, not offering it to me on a silver platter."
Sanji remains resolute. "You said you were hungry, and I made a vow to feed everyone who is hungry. You're no exception. I will feed you, no matter what."
All you can do is stare at him. He meant every word of that, you can see the sincerity in his eyes. Despite knowing the danger, he is willingly offering himself to you. All because you said you were hungry. You step closer to him, and he bares his neck more in response.
The blue veins on his neck are plain to see. It would be easy for you to sink your fangs into them. To drain his blood and life from his body, then move on and pick off the rest with a renewed energy. That's how this sort of scenario always played out.
Your hands find purchase on his chest. He shivers under your touch, and his breath hitches as your hands start to slide upward in the direction of his shoulders. Just before you reach them, your hands grab his tie and tighten it to where it should be.
He blinks in surprise and looks down at you. You take a step back, "You're unwell."
"I'm not sick, I would never offer you my blood if I thought it would make you ill!"
You huff, "I was speaking to your mental fortitude. Offering your blood to a vampire is completely asinine."
Sanji pleads his case, "But you said you were hungry, I can't just not take care of that for you."
"I wasn't being truthful when I claimed to be parched. I was merely attempting to frighten you. A fool's errand, it would seem." You look Sanji up and down. He was intriguing, you can't deny that. Perhaps this was a result of your mundane life, but you found yourself wanting to see more of him. To understand his fascinating mind. "Now then, I want you to acquaint me with your cohorts. I would like to properly meet the people invading my castle."
"Of course!" Sanji grins and eagerly offers his arm to you. You take it, gently hooking your arm through his. He practically has a skip in his step from the contact. There isn't so much as a hint of fear in him. How fascinating.
As he leads you down your own halls, you continue to silently observe Sanji. What a strange soul he is to behave so generously to a monster. To show kindness in the face of certain death. How long has it been since you were treated in such a way? Centuries, but you can't even be certain how many with how long it's been. Even your own allies would only show nothing more than respect. You were business partners at best. But Sanji...
"You may introduce me as (Y/N)."
He repeats your name with reverence. You enjoy the way it rolls off his tongue. You want to hear it more.

not super into pda but he likes to be touching you most of the time, whether it be a hand on your lower back, thigh, etc or standing so close to you that youâre touching some way or another
jealous and possessive. gets super insecure if someone flirts with you and has a bad habit of lashing out when he feels that way
he tries to hide it but rick really loves making you laugh. he knows heâs funny but he especially likes when you find him funny
i donât think he really has preferences based on looks, rick seems like the kind of guy to not have a âtypeâ
when you get close and he realizes he doesnât want to lose you, he cuts back on his drinking and actually makes an effort to be better for everyone in his life
rick in love starts acting like rickbot and morty gets suspicious at first lol

probably controversial but he definitely has an intoxication kink that goes hand in hand with a cnc kink⊠likes getting you drunk/high just to play with you
^^ and definitely knows how to make an aphrodisiac that drives you insaneeee
rick is an ass and thighs guy. argue with the wall
can be kinda mean in bed but would never really hurt you if you didnât like it. heâll slap, spank, bite, and manhandle you but itâs out of adoration trust me
not the best with aftercare but if you ask him to do something for you heâll 100% do it. usually consists of cleaning you up and letting you cuddle up to him unless you specifically ask for something more
hates pulling out sorry đ rick looovvvesss to cum inside you and has a number of options to prevent pregnancy if thatâs a possibility/concern for you

warnings: none too explicit. fluff. you and naoya have a baby girl named Naomi :) slight mentions of you know what in the end.
Whenever it rained it meant it was time to cozy up, stay within closed doors and indulge in activities that would distract you from the fact that all your plans have been ruined by this unexpected weather, and hope itâll change soon.
Or at least thatâs how adults are kind of expected to handle these situations, what you were planning to do, until a small ray of sunshine shakes the foundations of your beliefs and reminds you that life is much more than your responsibilities.
âMama⊠why canât I go out on the rain?â Naomi silently laments as she looks out the window, yearning to play by the puddles forming near the garden yet stuck in the silent, dull company of your seemingly endless paperworkâand plushies that have long gone to sleep, bored of their shared predicament.
âBecause youâre going to get wet and then sick. You wouldnât want to get sick, right, baby?â You respond, barely looking over the papers before you. Budgeting this year⊠has been quite the challenge; such things are bound to happen when a new heir comes along, whom also harbors an especially strong technique.
Well, at least the Zenâin heritage will be striving for the next few years, not like you and your daughter whom are currently boring themselves out of their mind.
ââŠOk, mama.â She lets out a deep sigh, resting her small head against her arms as she remains fixed on the outside world.
Itâs no surprise why she was so upset. She was promised to do all kinds of activities once she got out of school, after all. To fully enjoy her school break by going to all of her favorite places plus new adventures with her parents, whom also made sure to set aside time to make up for all the days they were apart.
But this sudden change of plans was bound to put everyone on a foul mood. And Naomi, your always bubbly girl, was no exception.
Sure, you tried your best to replace such disappointments with things to do around the estate, but none did the cut. How could one compare going to a theme park with⊠well, this?
And make matters worse, she wants to do something youâre not particularly keen of, which is play under the rain. What if she ends up getting sick? Her holiday would be undoubtedly ruined even further!
Yet, considering all that happened⊠was it really that bad that she got a bit wet? That she gets to play on the puddles, bask underneath the rain, and enjoy the simple things in life?
If itâs just for a bit, thereâs no real reason for her to get sick. More so if you give her a bath soon after and change her into warm clothesâor perhaps take out her rain boots and coat!
âŠ
âŠ
âŠ
Since when did your job value more than your daughterâs happiness?
âOh, to hell with all!â You gasp, throwing your papers to the side before swiftly grabbing your babyâs hand and guiding her towards the garden.
âWhat are you doing, mama??â
âWeâre going to have fun, dumpling!â
And thatâs exactly what you do; dive straight into the rain and towards the puddles as you perhaps shouldâve done the moment your daughter suggested said idea. Ignore the concerns of a soaked kimono, the reputation you had to upkeep now as the wife to the heir, a responsible mother that should not incentivize her daughter to misbehave!
Which you wouldâve caved into if alone, or with the judging gaze of Junko over your shoulderâŠ
But against Naomiâs bubbly laughter, or heartwarming smile⊠no force could compete.
âMama, mama!â Naomi she giggles as she jumps from one puddle to the other, kicking and splashing all the water in her way, with some on your way you soon found out to be done intentionally. âHehe, I got you!â
âNot so fast, dumpling! I wouldnât underestimate me yet!â you laugh, retaliating by cupping your hands and throwing the water settled in them; which your daughter quickly evades by using her technique, the same as Naoyaâs, a talent she has only abused since discovering it. âHey, thatâs cheating, pumpkin!â
Luckily, youâd have someone on your corner that was more than capable of competing with her who coincidentally was already making his way towards youâtalking about excellent timing!
Naoya tries to check in on princessesâ once or twice a day whenever busy, usually during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which he always refuses to have unchanged unless it was an emergency (but even then).
Because of the proximity of one of these occasions, alongside his dire need to be replenished through his loved onesâ presence, your husband might as well-made use of his own technique to arrive sooner.
He anticipated to be received with unparallel enthusiasm, as it usually occurred, alongside the cute babbles of his adorable Naomi trying to catch him up with all the two have done. Or just about any other domesticity that always warmed his heartâŠ
Expect the sight of his two loves giddily hopping around the garden underneath the rain, carefree of their sickly worries, soaked clothesâŠ
Or that heâd be caught in the crossfire thanks to his baby, who did not hesitate to attack him with the same ministration as youâmuch to your horror.
âOh, no, Naomi! Your papaâs clothesââ
But just as you, Naoya was victim to his daughterâs lovability.
âAh, so thatâs how itâs going to be, dumpling? Well, I hope youâre prepared for whatâs coming, âcause I ainât holding back!â Naoya smirks before using his technique to quickly catch up to her, taking a hold of her and attacking her with relentless tickles that have him proclaimed as an undisputed victor.
âStop it, papa!â Naomi cries, hesitant to admit defeat, yet very close to doing so anyways. âNooo!!â
âSurely you couldnât expect anything different from me, little princess.â He adds, blowing a raspberry on her cheek; she laughs. âYou cannot play with fire and not expect to be burnt.â
âItâs just a game!â She adds, trying to get away from his hold. âYou donât have to ruin it, papaâŠâ
âRuin it?â Naoya says, doing his best to not appear offended. âI would never do anything to ruin your fun, little princess.â
You laugh; her comment obviously comes from the fact on how easily he seized her and put an end to her mischiefâit was just a matter of letting her down and sheâd be back to her usual, bubbly self.
âThough I am intrigued to know why the sudden⊠need to play under the rain?â He wonders. âWere there no other options to your liking?â
âNo, theyâre all boring!â She responds honestly. âMama has been working all day and I wanted to play under the rain!â
âWe did promise to take her out, honey.â You gently remind, he sighs.
âI understand, sweetie. But this rain will be over soon, ok? And then, weâll do all we were supposed to.â Naoya smiles, reassuring his distraught daughter. âIn fact, I was actually thinking about going out now, get something to eat down in the city; now, doesnât that sound fun?â
âBetter than paperwork, I might say.â You jest, he laughs.
âCan we go now, papa?!â Naomi breathes, excited at the prospect of escape. âIâm hungry and bored!!â
âOnly after you take a bath and change into warm clothes, sweetie. But quickly if you donât want to get sick!â
Itâs probably the first time you ever see Naomi willingly run into the bathroom; as any other kid, she normally puts up a fuzz and pulls out just about any kind of excuse to avoid taking a showerâyes, even using her technique! How you managed to catch her back then is something only you, and your staff still have trouble understanding. Though itâs quite endearing to look back to when considering how Naoya mustâve been during his own childhood.
Unfortunately, youâd have another kind of turmoil to undergo this time around.
âBut I want to take a bath with mama!â Naomi pouts, harshly pulling at tugging at papa as hard as she could with the hopes of peeling you away from him! But he barely moved an inch, as seen in the proud smirk of a man whoâs earned the upper hand against his daughter, again.
âNot this time, pumpkin, youâve had mama all day to yourself.â He really tries his hardest to not laugh, but ultimately fails to hide his amusement and subsequently makes her pout even more. âNow, donât give me that look, you know Iâm only telling the truth.â
âNaoyaâŠâ you murmur; even if amusing, you really donât like encouraging competition between the two like this!
But you wonât deny that spending some private time with your husband, beyond sharing the same bed, quickly catching ON the things the two did throughout the day, before eventually passing out due to exhaustion, sounded very⊠inciting.
Highly so.
«Sorry, sweetie. Just this time» you succumb.
âWell, Naomi, dumpling, I need someone to wash my back and only papa can do that.â You begin.
âThatâs not true, I can do it too!â she quickly retorts, as stubbornly as her father.
âAh, um⊠wellâ I also like the way he washes my hair.â You continue on, doing your best to conjure up another convincing excuse. Life was easier when she didnât question her surroundings that much.
âYou said you liked how I washed your hair too!â Naomi frowns, you swear you almost see her stomping her feet. âYouâre lying to me!â
âPumpkinâŠâ
Fortunately, Mariyaâs quick thinking would prove helpful yet again when she manages to convince your baby to accompany her instead, citing disappointment at the fact that she didnât want to spend time with her anymore, apparently, she had grown too uncool for her. Unfitting to be Naomiâs friendâthe highest of treason for someone whom she completely adores, thanks to her willingness to spoil her when you donât.
âThatâs not true, auntie!! I like you!!â She gasps, now tightly holding onto Mariya.
âIt doesnât seem like it.â She quietly laments. ââŠI suppose you no longer like my Hello Kitty dumplings eitherâŠâ
âNo! I do!!â Naomi adds, now teary eyed. âI really like your Hello Kitty dumplings!â
âAlright, alright, thereâs no need to cry, I was just being dramatic.â Mariya says, quick to wipe her tears away, hug her, and kiss the top of her head. âHow about I make all your favorites after you take a shower? Letâs just leave your parents alone, theyâre going to talk about boring clan stuff anyways! Like they always do.â
She winks, you blush.
This conflict dies soon after that, allowing the two to dive right back into each otherâs presence, unable to keep their hands to themselves much longer.
âNow, where were we?â He purrs, slowly stripping away your soaked kimono and throwing at a forgotten corner.
âDoing something about these wet clothes.â You respond, placing your hands over his chest and doing the same. Naoya pursues your affection by captivating your lips with a kiss, trailing your cheeks, jaw, before moving to your neck and stopping there.
His inaction unsettles you a bit, soon cupping his face to figure out what perturbed his mind.
âAre you ok?â you ask, he sighs.
âWell, I donât like making our baby upset.â He admits, leaning into your touch.
âSheâs not upset, not with you at least. The weather just got her in a bad mood, thatâs all.â You explain. âBut thatâs not all is it, Naoya?â
He smiles.
âYou know me very well.â Your husband admits. ââŠI donât know, I just canât get the sight of you playing with our Naomi out of my mind.â
âOh.â You breathe, caught off guard by his answer. You expected something related to the clan, missions, responsibilities as the heir⊠not his family. Naoya mustâve greatly worried when seeing the two like that. âWe wonât do it again, I know I shouldnât have, but you know how I canâtââ
âNo, itâs not that. Far from it.â Naoya interrupts, your eyes widen.
âThen⊠what is it?â
âI guess Iâm⊠in disbelief. Thereâs just⊠something about it that makes it hard to believe.â
âBelieve what?â
âThat this is my life now, that Iâm a husband to a beautiful wife, and father to an adorable child.â
âOh, what is there not to believe? You have done more than enough to deserve such things.â You ease as he buries his face into your neck. âI think you just realized how much you enjoy being a father.â
âEven if it means being homesick most of the time?â
âMore like all the time.â
âI can only imagine how itâs going to be with more kids running aroundâIâd never see the end of it.â Naoya says, almost⊠expectantly. As if this thought has crossed his mind far more times than heâd like to admit.
Than heâd like to burden you with.
ââŠI need time.â
âI know.â He smiles, pecking your lips. âWe have lots of practice to go through anyways. Though we better make it quick if we donât want our little princess to get too angry at us for making her wait.â
âQuick? But you know what they say, Naoya⊠fast isnât always better.â You tease.
Something within Naoya stirs.
âMy wife, such a vixen.â Naoya says, taking your lips in another sweet, yet bold kiss. âDo you have no decorum when it comes to your desires?â
âMy beloved husband, you ought to know better than to deny yourself as well.â You say, pulling him closer and kissing him back. âWeâre nothing but two sides of the same coin when it comes to that, are we not?â
âYeahâyeah we are.â
And he wouldnât want it any other way.
cranky naomi is so adorable, i love her.

Rolling the Dice with Eddie Munson x fem reader.
It was a rainy afternoon in Hawkins, the kind of day where the world outside seemed to slow down. You had just finished a rather boring day at school and were heading to the local comic book store to pick up a new issue of your favorite graphic novel. You had no idea that today, fate was about to intervene.
As you walked through the door, the familiar smell of old paper and incense greeted you. The store was quiet, except for the sound of someone laughing from the back. You could hear a group of voices around a table, deep in conversation, but it wasn't until you turned the corner that you saw who was behind the laughter.
Eddie Munson.
He sat at the head of a table surrounded by a few of his friendsâMike, Dustin, Lucas, and a few others from school. But it wasn't their faces you were focused on. It was Eddie. His curly hair falling just the right way, his leather jacket with the hellfire club pin, and that mischievous grin of his. He looked up and met your eyes for a moment before giving you a casual wave.
"Hey there, you," Eddie called out with that playful glint in his eye. "What's up?"
You hesitated for a second, unsure of what to say. You'd seen Eddie around town, but you'd never really spoken to him. He was always wrapped up in his own world, hanging out with his friends in the corner of the cafeteria or doing band things. But today, there was something different about him. Something inviting.
"Uh... nothing much," you said. "I was just... I've heard you guys play Dungeons & Dragons. I've always wanted to learn, but I... uh... don't know how."
Eddie's eyes lit up. "You want to learn? Now, that's what I'm talking about! We're always looking for new blood around here. Mike," he nodded to his friend, "do you mind if we take a break from the game? We've got a new recruit."
Mike shrugged and rolled his eyes, but the others grinned. "We could always use more players," Dustin said, his face lighting up at the prospect of a new player.
You were a bit nervous as you took a seat at the table, Eddie leaning in to explain the basics. "Alright, listen up," Eddie began, speaking with the kind of intensity that made you feel like he was already your Dungeon Master, "Dungeons & Dragons is all about imagination. You create a character, a hero of sorts, and embark on adventures with your friends. We'll go through the rules as we play. It's mostly about having fun, so don't stress."
He handed you a set of dice, each one a different size. You stared at them, unsure of what to do with them. Eddie, seeing your confusion, leaned in closer.
"Here," he said, showing you how to roll them. "Each die has a different purpose. The D20 is your main weaponâthis one," he held up the 20-sided die. "It's all about rolling high numbers. You want to roll a 20, not a 1. But even a 1 can be fun. You never know what might happen."
You laughed nervously, glancing at the others for reassurance. "I don't want to mess anything up..."
Eddie gave you a reassuring smile. "You won't mess up. It's all about learning. And besides, we've all rolled a 1 and ended up in some really embarrassing situations." He glanced over at Dustin, who nodded sheepishly. "You'll fit right in."
The adventure began. Eddie guided you through the process of creating a character. You chose a rogue, someone who could sneak around, pick locks, and get the jump on enemies. He asked you what you wanted to be good atâ"Stealth? Charisma? Killing things with a dagger?"âand helped you fill in the details of your character's backstory.
As the game unfolded, you found yourself growing more comfortable. You laughed with the group as your character narrowly avoided a trap, and your heart raced when you rolled a 20 to steal an important artifact from an unsuspecting NPC. Eddie cheered you on each time you made a successful move, his enthusiasm contagious.
After a few hours, you felt like part of the group. The game was intense, but the camaraderie was what really kept you coming back. Every time Eddie's character got into a sticky situation, you couldn't help but admire the way he took control of the story. He had this charisma, this charm, that made everything feel like an epic adventure. And when it was your turn, he never let you feel lost.
"So, what do you think?" Eddie asked, leaning back in his chair with a grin. "You think you're ready for the next campaign?"
You looked around at the group, feeling a warm sense of belonging. "I think I'm hooked," you said, smiling.
Eddie winked. "I knew you would be."
End.

Guys, what if I said I miss Gumlee (Vampire Marshall Lee and Prince Gumball) and that I kinda (no kinda, ALOT) prefer their "there's sexual tension every time we are alone in the same room but we're too oblivious, hate each other too much and we're too busy being the edgy Vampire King and the stubborn, silly as fuck Prince of the candy kingdom to notice we probably, kinda like each other".
Like, don't get me wrong I love F&C Garylee, so much that Prince Gumball is Gary to me and that seeing Marshall being so lovey dovey to him did make me tear up like "FINALLY, WE GUMLEE SHIPPERS WEREN'T CRAZY" and got me hooked on their cute romance (which even if it was cute, it was also rushed as fuck), but dude...my enemies to lovers disappeared.
I'm more of an "enemies to lovers w lots of angst and slowburn and shit in between before they even consider the fact that they like each other" guy, just like the first characterization of them in the OG Fionna and Cake episodes and comics. I miss them dearly lol.
I actually have no idea what a second season of Fionna and Cake would propose, but I'm waiting patiently for it.
What kinda adventures would they go into this time? Would it be in the normal world or they'd find a way to make it magical again? Would we be able to see Marshall and Gary's magical forms again? I miss those 2000+ year old losers that acted like teenagers in highschool with all their drama and silly arguments.
#fionna and cake#adventure time#adventure time fionna and cake#garylee#gumlee#prince gumball#marshall lee#gary prince#i actually still hae no idea why they kept Cake's magic powers#where the hell is Farmworld's Finn and the rest of his kids#Whats up w Prismo glitching and that fuckass apple at the end of the series#would it be more universal hopping or...????#would there be more characters from other universes or...????#i have no idea what they have in mind but it's Adventure Time i know they'll figure it out đ€·#adventuretime#Worm thoughts đđ

thinking about how wind waker linkâs first adventure had him controlling the winds to get around, it being his biggest strength in braving and traversing the seas, and in his next adventure he finds himself on a ship that does not at all require the wind for anything
#idk. like. even if link had the wind waker in ph. it would kinda be totally useless#just some thoughts#loz#legend of zelda#link#wind waker#phantom hourglass#i have yet to play wind waker properly but i think a lot about the differences between ww and ph#in terms of links experiences. like in ph realistically he has little control in where they go. its not his ship#he marks the path and mans the cannon but thats all he likely knows how to do#and hes only allowed to manually steer one time as far as we can see#idk. thoughts. i got ph on the mind and made this connection earlier idk if its anything#i like the idea of his ph adventure being a massive change insofar as⊠hes not some hero of courage he was just there in time#if that makes sense? ik he doesnt have the spirit of the hero of w/e and hes not specifically chosen#but its scaled back a lot in ph anyone technically couldve stepped up and did what link does#hes not alone he constantly has a fairy tagging along hes got a larger group of constant companions#idk what im trying to get at. maybe im brainstorming link ideas#salty talks#maybe the idea of link kind of wanting to feel needed after ww. if that makes sense. hes afraid of being useless to someone#something like that. he doesnt really want to go back to just being the kid the gods didnt pick bc he feels like.#hm. playing the hero in ww made him feel needed but it also terrified him and that feeling of being needed helped him combat that terror

im being normal (my not-cats look prettier than ever i totally didnt forego writing to decorate a few of them)
the ones without a lot of decor are ones that have jobs that dont Give decor items very often (or are new) since i like to put the decor the not-cat collects on that not-cat :3
((the two i was working on decorating were agate and vaccon since i saw the perfect opportunity))
#haunted ecosystem#also YES i know delilah is a bit cluttered he was decorated when he was a baby đ i need to decide a palette & theme for him#also im debating whether i focus on trying to get a violet eyed albino for a fancat or if i just get a null like i planned#rn my only null is honey and she has the WORST stats (literally my lowest stat not-cat)#if i get the time i might work on custom decor for some fancats since i'm struggling to find what i need for them#oooh. i might get a violet eyed albino for a DIFFERENT fancat <- just had the idea for a ro fancat. oh. thatd be FUN.#i have some decor in mind too it would be actually painful to get all of it but. i could.#esp since adventuring is a lot easier now since i have my main team levelled to where they deal extra damage.#i think i need to work on a second ranger next? since im swapping out ram once fallen is fully levelled since he's got better movement#OH yeah definitely im swapping ram for fallen since i can get fallen's strength higher than ram's. yea thats my next goal

How'd They React To You Skipping School
( ⧠) ââââââ boyfriend stories . comedy/drama - she/her .
- [đđĄ.] cater . leona. floyd . vil . rook . silver . sebek . malleus
- [đ©:đŹ] none
Note: I had like no idea of what to post, so I just decided to post one of my drafts!
Cater Diamond

Cater is used to you doing your own thing, but when he realizes you're skipping school without telling him, it throws him off. He first notices your absence in class when he glances over at your usual seat and finds it empty.
"Huh? No way. Did she sleep in?" he mumbles, tilting his head.
He checks his Magicam feed just in case, and sure enoughâthere you are, chilling at a cafĂ©, sipping on a fancy drink with a little dessert on the side.
"Omg. Sheâs out living her best life while Iâm suffering in Treinâs lecture?? Rude."
At first, he considers letting it slide. After all, itâs not like he never ditches, but the more he thinks about it, the more a nagging feeling settles in his chest.
So, the second class ends, he shoots you a text.
Cay-kun đ§Ą: Baaaaabe, why am I seeing u on my Magicam instead of in class? U cheating on me with a strawberry shortcake? đđ°
You donât reply right away. He sighs, leaning against a hallway wall. Then, an idea strikes him. If youâre going to skip school, why not have a real ditch day adventure?
Thirty minutes later, youâre peacefully enjoying your alone time when a very familiar voice chimes in from across the cafĂ©.
"Omg, no way. What are the chances? I just happened to be in the area~", Cater says, sliding into the seat across from you with an easy grin.
You roll your eyes. "Cater, you totally left school to find me."
He laughs, taking a sip of your drink without asking. "Busted. But câmon, how could I let my precious girlfriend have all the fun by herself? We couldâve planned a whole cute ditch day together!"
Though heâs joking, thereâs a flicker of something else in his expressionâconcern, maybe? You donât miss the way his fingers drum lightly against the table, the way his usual easygoing smile seems just a bit forced.
"Next time, at least tell me, okay? I wanna make sure youâre safe. Plus, if youâre gonna skip, might as well do it with style. Matching outfits, cute couple photosâthe whole deal."
Even though heâs being playful, you know heâs serious. And honestly? You wouldnât mind skipping with him next time.
Leona Kingscholar

Leona is no stranger to skipping schoolâhell, itâs practically his hobby. So when he hears from Ruggie that you didnât show up to class, his first reaction is to scoff.
"Tch. So what? Not like itâs my problem."
But as the day drags on, something bugs him. He expected you to at least text him if you were gonna skip.
By the time lunch rolls around, his patience is gone.
Instead of going to class, he heads straight to his usual napping spot in the botanical gardensâwhere, conveniently, he finds you lounging on a bench, headphones in, eyes closed as you soak in the afternoon sun.
For a moment, he just watches. Then, with a sigh, he plops down beside you, one arm draped over the back of the bench as he tilts his head toward you.
"You got some nerve skippinâ without tellinâ me."
Your eyes snap open. "Leona? Howâd youâ"
"I am the king, yâknow. I got eyes everywhere."
He leans in, his voice dropping to that low, lazy drawl that always sends a shiver down your spine. "So? You got a reason for dodging class, or you just felt like slacking?"
You mumble something about needing a break. Leona raises an eyebrow, letting out a deep sigh.
"Hmph. Well, canât say I blame you. But if youâre gonna play hooky, at least do it right."
Before you can react, he shifts, lying down with his head in your lap, eyes already closing.
"Since youâre already here, you might as well stay. I ainât letting you run off alone againânext time, you skip, you tell me first. Got it?"
His words are firm, but the way his hand lazily rests on your knee, fingers tracing absentminded patterns, tells you everything you need to know.
You werenât just skipping schoolâyou were skipping him. And Leona Kingscholar doesnât like being left out.
Floyd Leech
When Floyd finds out you skipped school, the reaction is instant and dramatic.
It starts when he bursts into your dorm room, eyes glinting with mischief.
"Shrimpyyyyy~ Why werenât you in class today?"
Before you can even answer, he flops down onto your bed, stretching like a lazy cat.
"I was soooo boooored. Sitting in class with no Shrimpy to tease? Ugh, it was awful!"
You roll your eyes. "Floyd, itâs just one day. I needed a break."
The air shifts.
Floyd props himself up on one elbow, his usual playful smile still in place, but thereâs something more intense behind his eyes now.
"Hmm. A break from school? Or a break from me?"
You blink. "Wait, what? No, thatâs notâ"
Before you can finish, heâs suddenly on top of you, his long fingers gently but firmly pressing against your wrists. His grin widens, but his grip tightens just slightly.
"Yâknow, if you wanted to play hooky, you couldâve just told me. We coulda done something fun together." His voice drops to a murmur, lips brushing against your ear. "But instead, you ran off all alone⊠Thatâs kinda mean, donâtcha think?"
Your heart skips a beat. "Floyd, I didnât mean it like thatâ"
In an instant, his mood flips back.
"Hehe, just kidding~!" He suddenly rolls off you, laughing as he sprawls out on the bed again.
"Buuut next time you skip, Iâm coming with you. No ifs, ands, or buts. Shrimpy doesnât get to run away from me, got it?"
Despite the playfulness, you know heâs dead serious. And honestly? Itâs safer to just agree. Because when Floyd wants somethingâŠ
He gets it.
Hereâs how Vil, Rook, and Silver would react to you skipping school, each in their own unique way!
Vil Schoenheit
Vil notices your absence immediately. He keeps a close eye on youânot in an overbearing way (or so he claims), but enough to know when somethingâs off.
It starts when he walks into class and sees your seat empty. He frowns.
"Where is she?" he murmurs, more to himself than anyone else.
Even Rook, who usually lets things play out naturally, raises an eyebrow at Vilâs reaction.
"Perhaps ma belle has decided to take an impromptu escape from the drudgery of academia?"
Vil clicks his tongue. "Hardly. She wouldnât skip for no reason. Which meansâŠ"
His eyes narrow as he pulls out his phone and dials your number. It rings. And rings. No answer.
Vil is not amused.
By lunch, he has had enough. With a sigh, he closes his notebook, stands up, and says, "If the professors ask, tell them Iâm handling a⊠personal matter."
A few students exchange glances, but no one questions him. When Vil Schoenheit is on a mission, he gets what he wants.
â
Youâre lounging at a quiet spot near the outskirts of campus, enjoying the rare moment of solitude, when suddenlyâ
"There you are."
You nearly jump out of your skin at the sound of his voice.
Vil stands before you, arms crossed, his violet eyes burning with irritation.
"Would you like to explain to me why youâve chosen to neglect your studies today?"
You stammer out something about needing a break. The pressure of school, the endless expectationsâit was all just too much.
For a moment, Vil just stares at you. Then, with a sigh, he walks over and gracefully sits beside you.
"I understand," he says at last, his tone softer now. "But running away wonât solve anything, my dear. If you were overwhelmed, you should have come to me."
His fingers gently brush a strand of hair from your face, his expression unreadable.
"Your beauty, your mind, your potentialâthey are things that should be nurtured, not neglected. And if anyone dares to say otherwise, theyâll have to deal with me."
You swallow, feeling warmth bloom in your chest.
"ButâŠ" he continues, tilting your chin up slightly, "if you ever pull something like this again without informing me, I will drag you back to class myself. Understood?"
With Vil, skipping school is not just about missing lessons. Itâs about maintaining excellenceâand to him, you deserve nothing less.
Rook Hunt
Rook doesnât need anyone to tell him you skipped school. He feels it.
The moment he steps into the classroom, a shiver runs down his spine. He scans the room, and sure enoughâyouâre missing.
"Ah⊠mon trésor, where could you have vanished to?"
Anyone else might have let it go. But Rook? Rook Hunt?
Oh, no, no, no.
This is a hunt.
â
You think youâve found the perfect hiding spotâa secluded meadow just beyond campus. The breeze is gentle, the grass soft, and the world feels so blissfully quiet.
But thenâ
"AhâŠ! What a rare and exquisite sight! A most beautiful creature, escaping the confines of duty to embrace the wild!"
You jerk up, heart pounding. "Rook?! Howâ"
He smiles down at you, eyes glimmering with delight.
"My dear, you wound me! Did you truly believe you could evade me?"
You groan. "Canât I have one day to myself?"
Rook simply chuckles, kneeling beside you. "But of course! And what a splendid setting you have chosen! Ah, the crisp air, the golden sunlightâit is a moment worthy of poetry!"
You sigh, leaning back. "So, youâre not going to drag me back?"
Rook tilts his head.
"Non, non, ma chĂ©rie. Who am I to interfere with the call of your spirit?" His voice lowers, eyes gleaming with something unreadable. "However⊠I must askâwere you running to something⊠or from something?"
You pause. You hadnât thought about it that way.
Rook hums, plucking a flower and tucking it behind your ear.
"Whatever it is, you need not face it alone. If ever you wish to flee again⊠invite me along, oui? Let us embark on a grand adventure together."
His words are sweet, but the message is clearânext time, he will find you. And next time⊠you might not mind.
Silver
Silver is usually the one who accidentally skips class (thanks to his habit of falling asleep anywhere), so when he realizes youâre the one missing, it catches him off guard.
Lilia is the first to notice his concern.
"Looking for someone, Silver?" he asks, sipping his tea.
Silver hesitates. "Sheâs not here. She wasnât in class this morning."
Lilia chuckles. "Ah, young love. Are you worried, or do you just miss her?"
Silverâs ears turn a little pink. "Thatâs notâ"
But he is worried.
So, after finishing his morning duties, he sets off to find you. It doesnât take long.
He finds you by a quiet stream, legs dangling over the edge, watching the water ripple. You donât even hear him approachâuntil heâs sitting beside you.
"Skipping school, huh?" he says, voice calm but firm.
You sigh. "Are you here to lecture me?"
Silver shakes his head. "No. But I am here to make sure youâre okay."
You blink, surprised.
He gazes at the water for a long moment before speaking again.
"I get it. Sometimes, the world moves too fast. Sometimes, you just⊠need to stop." He exhales. "Iâve felt that way too."
His honesty takes you off guard.
"But," he continues, turning to look at you, "you donât have to bear it alone. If you ever need to slow down⊠let me stay by your side."
Your heart clenches at the sincerity in his voice. Silver has always been gentle, always patientâbut beneath it all is a quiet strength, one that makes you feel⊠safe.
He offers you his hand. "Letâs go back together. But if you really donât want to, then Iâll stay here with you."
You stare at his outstretched hand. And for the first time today, you donât feel like you have to run.
Because with Silver beside you, the world doesnât seem so overwhelming anymore.
Sebek Zigvolt
Sebek prided himself on being alert, disciplined, and ever-diligent in all thingsâso when he noticed your absence from class, his first instinct was absolute outrage.
"Where is she?!" he bellowed the moment roll call finished, slamming his hands down on his desk.
The entire class turned to stare. Even Lilia, who was used to Sebekâs theatrics, raised an eyebrow.
"Calm yourself, Sebek. Iâm sure she has her reasons," Lilia said, sipping his tea.
Sebek whirled around. "Reasons? What reasons could possibly justify this?! My humanâ I mean, my beloved has abandoned her education!"
His heart raced in his chest, not just from frustration, but from concern. What if something had happened to you? What if you were in danger? What ifâgaspâyou were avoiding him?!
No. Unacceptable.
Without hesitation, Sebek stormed out of class, determined to find you and drag you back to school himself.
â
You were relaxing in a quiet corner of the gardens, lying beneath the shade of a tree, finally enjoying some peace. That is, untilâ
"HUMAN!"
The roar of your name nearly sent you flying out of your seat. Before you could even react, Sebek loomed over you, arms crossed, golden eyes blazing with intensity.
"You dare to SKIP CLASS?! What kind of nonsense is this?! Have you no sense of duty?!"
You groaned, rubbing your temples. "Sebek, please. Not so loud."
"LOUD?!" he repeated, even louder. "How can I possibly remain quiet when you have committed such a heinous act?! Skipping schoolâDISGRACEFUL!"
You sighed. "I just needed a break. I wasnât in the mood for class today."
Sebek scowled. He wanted to scold you furtherâto lecture you on the importance of education, of discipline, of honorâbut then⊠he saw the tired look in your eyes.
His frustration wavered.
"You⊠were not in the mood?" he repeated, his voice softer now.
You nodded. "Iâve been feeling overwhelmed. I just wanted to breathe a little, thatâs all."
Sebek stiffened. His grip on his arms tightened. His natural instinct was to demand you push through itâto insist that duty must always come first.
But then⊠he thought of Lord Malleus. How often had his master been told to put his responsibilities first? How often had he been isolated because of that very thinking?
Sebek hesitated. Then, very slowly, he sat down beside you.
"If you were feeling unwell⊠you should have informed me." His voice was still gruff, but gentler now. "It is my duty to stand by your side, no matter the circumstance."
You blinked, surprised by the change in his tone. Sebek? Being understanding? That was new.
He cleared his throat. "But! This does NOT mean I condone such behavior!" He huffed, turning away. "If you must rest, then rest properly! Not by⊠skipping school like some delinquent!"
You smiled. "So, youâre not mad?"
"OF COURSE I AMâ!" He caught himself, exhaled sharply, then muttered, "âŠJust do not make a habit of it."
You giggled. Despite all his dramatic ranting, you could tell he was genuinely worried about you.
And maybe, just maybe⊠Sebek Zigvolt cared more about your well-being than he let on.
Malleus Draconia

Malleus immediately noticed your absence the moment he stepped into class.
At first, he thought you were simply running late. But as the minutes passed and your seat remained empty, his usual calm began to crack.
"She is not here," he murmured to himself, fingers tapping lightly against his desk.
Lilia, watching from the side, smiled knowingly. "Ah, young love. Worried already?"
Malleus said nothing, but his green eyes darkened.
The moment class ended, he vanished. Not even his retainers could stop him.
â
You were peacefully sitting beneath a willow tree, flipping through a book, when the sky suddenly dimmed.
A chill ran through the air. The once-bright afternoon grew darker, as if the sun itself was hiding.
And thenâ
"There you are."
Your head snapped up. Standing before you, tall and regal as ever, was Malleus. His emerald gaze bore into yours, unreadable and intense.
"You did not come to class today," he stated. Not a question. A fact.
You swallowed. "I just⊠needed a break."
Malleus was silent for a long moment. Then, he took slow, deliberate steps forward.
"A break," he repeated softly. "From school⊠or from me?"
Your eyes widened. "Wait, what? No, Malleus, Iâ"
Before you could finish, he had closed the distance. He stood so close, his presence towering, consuming.
"Do you understand how worried I was?" His voice was gentle, yet firm. "You disappeared without a word. Do you truly believe I would not seek you out?"
You fumbled for words, guilt creeping into your chest.
"I didnât think it would be a big dealâ"
"You are my beloved."
The way he said itâso matter-of-factly, so absoluteâmade your breath hitch.
"Everything about you is a 'big deal' to me."
Your heart pounded. You opened your mouth to respond, but Malleus was already sitting beside you, his usual regal demeanor softening.
"If you wished to escape," he murmured, "you need only call for me. I would take you anywhere you desire."
His fingers ghosted over yours.
"But next time, do not disappear on your own. My heart does not take well to such⊠uncertainty."
A lump formed in your throat. You hadn't meant to worry himânot like this.
You turned, meeting his gaze. "I promise. Next time⊠Iâll tell you."
His expression eased, and a rare, soft smile graced his lips.
"Good."
And just like that, the sky brightened once more.
Malleus Draconia was no stranger to solitude. But when it came to youâŠ
He would not tolerate being left behind.

ââ .⊠Monkey D. Luffy:
The smell of grilled fish and sizzling meats fills the air as you and Luffy settle into your seats at a bustling restaurant by the shore. The place is packed, laughter and chatter surrounding you as waiters move between tables carrying plates stacked high with food.
Luffy is already bouncing in his chair, eyes darting between different dishes on the menu. Heâs practically vibrating with excitement.
âOi, look at this!â He shoves the menu in your face, pointing at a special section ââLovebird Feastâ, free dessert for nearly married couples! Thatâs awesome! I want it!!â
You snort, pushing the menu back down âYouâd fake a whole marriage just for free food?â
Luffy tilts his head like itâs the most obvious thing in the world âDuh! Free foodâs free food! It's always the most delicious.â
Before you can protest, heâs already turning to the nearest waiter, waving them down enthusiastically, âHey! We want the lovebird thingy!â
The waiter, a woman with a kind smile, gasps in excitement âOh! How wonderful! Congratulations, you two!â
You open your mouth to correct her âStop Luffy, weâre notââ but Luffy is already jumping ahead.
âShishishi! We arenât yet but Iâll do it right now!â
Wait what?!
He suddenly slides out of his chair and drops onto one knee in front of you. The entire restaurant seems to hush. A few heads turn. Somewhere in the back, a musician starts playing soft romantic music.
Oh. Oh no.
Luffy grabs your hand, grinning up at you like heâs having the time of his life âY/N! Weâve been on so many adventures together, and you always give me food, and youâre really fun to be around!â His grip tightens âSo, do you want to marry me?â
The restaurant erupts. People cheer, clapping and whistling like this is the most romantic thing theyâve ever seen.
Your face burns.
This idiot! He didnât even try to make it sound real!
Still, two can play at this game.
You bring a hand to your chest, gasping dramatically âLuffy, IâI donât know what to say!â You blink rapidly, pretending to fight back tears âThis is so sudden! But...â You clasp his hands in yours, shaking them for extra effect âYes! A thousand times yes!â
The cheering gets louder. Someone throws flower petals over you. The musician in the back picks up the tempo.
Luffy beams, bouncing to his feet âAWESOME! Now whereâs the food?â
The waiter, practically swooning, claps her hands together âRight away, sir! And donât worry, your Lovebird Feast comes with our cutest personalised decorations, so give us a moment and weâll get it to youâ
Luffy turns to you, grinning ear to ear âSee? Told ya itâd work!â
You pinch the bridge of your nose, trying so hard not to laugh âYouâre impossible.â
A few minutes later, your table is overflowing with steaming plates of grilled seafood, buttery rolls, and a massive chocolate cake that says Congratulations, Lovebirds! in fancy frosting and two small drawings of your caricatures with hearts around them.
Luffy digs in immediately, stuffing his face with meat and laughing between bites âMan, this was such a good idea! Maybe we should do it again at another restaurant!â
You snort, shaking your head âWhat, you gonna propose to me at every place we eat now?â
He swallows a mouthful of food and grins âMaybe! Youâd say yes every time, right?â
Your heart stumbles over itself for a second, but you quickly recover âOnly if thereâs free food involved, I guess.â
Luffy laughs, shoving another piece of cake into his mouth âThen itâs a deal!â
You roll your eyes, but you canât stop smiling. Even if it was fake, and even if he only did it for the foodâŠ
You kinda wouldnât mind hearing him say those words again.
Maybe for real, next time.
Youâre now on your way back to the ship and just thinking about telling everyone what happened makes you laugh.
âWhat are you laughin at?â Luffy asks while bouncing his own belly.
âSanjiâs gonna hate us when weâll tell him what we did to get free foodâŠâ you laugh more.
Luffy suddenly stops and you turn to see whatâs going on with him. Only to see him trying to mimic Sanjiâs face and expression, âFood isnât a game!! And why did you use my y/n for your stupid plan?!?â.
You start laughing so hard that your stomach starts to hurt.
âLetâs make a bet Y/N⊠I bet heâs gonna say the exact same words I said just nowâ he says putting his hand in front of you.
âMmh okay. I bet heâs going to say something like âHow dare you propose to Y/N before me!!!ââ
Luffy smiles and âThatâs a good one. What do you want if ya win?â
Oh, now this is a hard question⊠What do you want?
Then an idea pop up in your mind.
âIf I win Iâll be the captain for one day!â You say smiling proudly at your own mind, imagining already the things you could do and make Luffy do as his Captain.
âShishishi, thatâs a good one. Okay. But if I win⊠weâre gonna get a real ring your size for the next time!â His eyes close as his smile widens even more, âSo? Deal?â
You heart start beating so fast that youâre bearing breathing.
Why?
Why does he want a ring?
And why is he planning on proposing again?
Then you snap out of your thoughts as you hear his laugh again. You look at his hand in front of you, waiting to be shaken.
âDealâŠâ you say as you now shake his hand.
Back to the Thousand Sunny the first thing Luffy does is looking for Sanji and tell him everything that happened, excluding the bet part of course.
He even mimicked the expressions the waiters and waitresses had while he was proposing.
Then, after a moment of shock and as you were anticipating, Sanji finally speaks âMon Dieu , food isnât a game, idiot! And why did you use my precious Y/N for your dumb gameâŠâ
âOh, you lost Y/N. Now weâll get a ring!!â Luffy smiles at you, ignoring the way Sanji stopped his desperate act just to look at him like he murdered someone.
You blush hard, not being able to even say a word.
âWHAT RING NOW? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? Y/N STOP LAUGHING, THE IDIOT IS BEING SERIOUS!!â
Sanji keeps trying to stop both you and Luffy, but honestly?
You wouldnât mind getting proposed again, and who knows maybe with the ring it will feel real.
And you donât mind it at all.
ââ .⊠Roronoa Zoro:
Zoro knew coming here was a mistake.
The restaurant is way too fancy for his taste, golden chandeliers, white tablecloths, expensive plates that look like they belong in a museum. The portions are tiny, the waiters have that Iâm better than you attitude, and worst of all⊠Sanji recommended it.
You, however, are having a great time.
You sip your drink, smiling at the romantic ambiance, while Zoro sulks across from you, arms crossed, looking like heâd rather be anywhere else.
âThis place is niceâ you hum.
Zoro scoffs âTch. Feels like a prison.â
You roll your eyes, about to retort, when his fork suddenly slips off the table. With a sigh, Zoro pushes his chair back and kneels down to grab it.
And thatâs when it happens.
A loud gasp echoes through the restaurant.
The soft clinking of silverware stops. Conversations halt. The waiter carrying a tray of wine nearly drops it.
Zoro freezes, fork in hand.
ââŠWhat the hell?â he mutters.
You glance around and immediately see the problem. The entire restaurant is staring at him, some people are covering their mouths, others are tearing up, and the woman at the table next to you whispers excitedly to her date âomg look, heâs proposing!â
They think heâs proposing...
Your lips twitch. Oh, this is gold.
Zoro must realize it too, because he slowly looks up at you, processing the situation. The restaurant waits with bated breath. You see the exact moment he decides to roll with it.
Still kneeling, he sighs dramatically and reaches for your hand instead of his fork.
âGuess thereâs no backing out nowâ he says flatly.
A chorus of awws sweeps through the restaurant. Someone sniffles.
You bite your lip, holding back laughter. If Zoroâs gonna pull this, you might as well make him suffer.
So, with your most dramatic expression, you gasp, bringing a hand to your chest âZoro! Is thisââ You choke up for effect âIs this really happening?â
Zoro glares at you, silently daring you to push further.
You do.
You blink rapidly, pretending to fight back tears âIâI never thought this day would come!â You squeeze his hand, voice trembling âEver since I first saw you, I knewââ You pause, just to let the anticipation build âthat you were the love of my life!â
A woman two tables down bursts into tears.
Zoroâs jaw tightens. His ears are definitely red now. But he wonât let you win so easily.
He lets out a long, exaggerated sigh, rubbing the back of his neck âYeah⊠you know, itâs been real annoying, carrying this ring around for so long.â
Your eyes widen. Oh, he did NOT justâ
The restaurant collectively gasps again. Even the chef peeks out from the kitchen.
Zoro still doesnât have a ring, so the bastard reaches over, plucks a tiny onion ring off his plate, and slides it onto your finger.
âThere,â he says, smirking âYou happy now?â
You nearly choke on air.
The restaurant erupts. Cheers. Clapping. Someone throws flower petals. A waiter rushes forward with champagne.
You need to end this. Fast.
So, with all the enthusiasm of a dramatic soap opera heroine, you throw yourself into Zoroâs arms, hugging him tightly.
âYES! A MILLION TIMES YES!â
The place loses it. Some guy at the bar is sobbing. The waiter brings out a massive cake with Congratulations! written in fancy chocolate drizzle. The restaurant manager himself personally congratulates you.
You and Zoro finally lock eyes, both of you struggling to keep a straight face.
Still holding you, he leans down, voice low enough for only you to hear.
âYou are so dead after thisâ he mutters.
You grin âWorth it.â
Zoro sighs, but thereâs amusement in his expression. He still hasnât let go of your waist, and for a second, the noise around you fades, the restaurant blurring into the background.
His thumb brushes against your hip.
âYou really wanna sell this?â he murmurs.
You raise a brow âWhat are youââ
And then he kisses you.
Itâs quick, barely more than a brush of lips, but it still shuts you up completely. Your breath catches as the warmth of him lingers, his grip firm and steady as if grounding himself.
Then he pulls back, smirking at your stunned expression âFigured we had to make it convincing.â
The crowd loses it again. Someone pops open a bottle of wine. The cheering is deafening.
Zoro slides back into his seat, reaching for his drink like nothing happened, while you just stare at him. Your face is burning, your heart racing.
Did he... did he really just...
âOi,â he calls, snapping you out of your thoughts. He nods toward your plate âEat. We scammed our way into this food, might as well enjoy it.â
You pick up your fork numbly, still processing.
Later that night, walking back to the Sunny, still slightly tipsy from the free champagne, Zoro shakes his head, chuckling.
âYouâre the worst.â
âAnd yet, you still went along with itâ you tease.
He gives you a sideways glance, smirking âYeah, well⊠guess Iâd propose to you eventually anyway.â
You trip.
Zoro catches you easily, steadying you with a firm grip, and when he helps you up, he doesnât let go of your hand right away.
Your heart does something stupid.
ââŠYou serious?â you murmur.
Zoro just smirks, squeezing your hand and giving you a quick peck on your lips before letting go.
âGuess youâll have to wait and see, idiot.â
ââ .⊠Sanji:
Sunlight spills over the ocean, turning the water into shimmering gold as the sea breeze carries the scent of freshly baked pastries. The café you and Sanji are at is charming, small round tables with white tablecloths, elegant teacups, and a dessert display so tempting even you had to stop and admire it before sitting down.
Sanji, as always, is in his element. He leans back in his chair, cigarette between his fingers, looking completely at ease as he watches the waves roll in. Heâs been extra flirty today, not that itâs anything new, but thereâs something almost mischievous about his smile as he rests his chin on his hand, eyes locked on you.
âYou look stunning today, mon amour.â
You snort, sipping your drink âYouâve said that three times already.â
âAnd Iâll say it a hundred more if it makes you smileâ he replies smoothly, winking.
You roll your eyes but canât hide the way your lips twitch upward. Hopeless flirt.
A waiter suddenly approaches your table, setting down a small menu âWould you two be interested in our Eternal Love Special? It comes with a complimentary dessert for newly engaged couples.â
Sanjiâs brows lift, and immediately, you see the dangerous glint in his eyes.
You raise a hand, ready to shut this down âOh, weâre notââ
Sanji reaches across the table and gently takes your hand in his, cutting you off completely.
âMa chĂ©rieâ he sighs, looking at you with the softest, most heartfelt expression youâve ever seen âIâve been waiting for the perfect moment to do this.â
Then he quickly turns to the waiter âThank you, I took it as a sign to finally do what I was planning for months nowâ
Your brain short-circuits.
Wait. WAIT.
The waiter gasps. The couple at the next table stops mid-bite. A hush falls over the café as all eyes turn to the two of you.
You know Sanji. You know this is fake. But the way heâs looking at you, the warmth in his eyes, the way his thumb gently strokes the back of your hand, it feels real.
You swallow hard âSanjiââ
He stands up, gracefully stepping around the table before lowering himself onto one knee. The sunlight catches his golden hair, framing him like something out of a damn romance novel.
âFrom the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were special,â he says, voice smooth as silk âYour laughter is my favorite melody, your kindness is my greatest treasure, and every day with you is sweeter than the finest dessert.â
Someone sniffs. You donât dare look away, afraid your own face might betray you.
Sanji reaches into his pocket, and for a horrifying second, you think he might actually have a ring... He pulls out a thin silver napkin ring from the table setting.
The café erupts into cheers. Someone claps. A woman dabs at her eyes with a handkerchief. The waiter looks about two seconds away from fainting.
Sanji takes your hand, slipping the napkin ring onto your finger with such tenderness that your heart physically aches.
âTell me, my love,â he murmurs, his voice low and teasing, but with an edge of something more âWill you make me the happiest man in the world?â
You could end this now. Laugh it off, tell everyone itâs fake, and move on.
âŠBut whereâs the fun in that?
You inhale sharply, pressing a hand to your chest like you just canât believe this is happening âSanji, Iââ You let your voice waver for dramatic effect âOf course! Yes!â
The cafĂ© erupts. Cheers, applause, a waiter brings out a fancy chocolate cake with âCongratulations, Lovebirds!â written in delicate script.
Sanji presses a lingering kiss to the back of your hand before rising to his feet. He leans in, his breath warm against your ear.
âYou play dirty, sweetheartâ he murmurs.
You smirk up at him âRight back at you.â
The two of you sit back down, and while Sanji smoothly dives into his slice of cake, you⊠you canât stop staring at him. Your heart is still racing. Heâs been teasing you for so long, but this felt different.
And maybe the little gleam in his eyes says he knows it too.
Sanji casually picks up his fork, cutting into his cake as if he hasnât just dropped a bombshell in the middle of the cafĂ©. But thereâs something different about the way he looks at you now, a quiet intensity behind his smirk.
You, on the other hand, are trying your best to keep your composure, but your heart is still fluttering uncontrollably. That was not part of the act, you think, biting your lip.
âSo,â you begin, trying to regain some semblance of control over your thoughts, âyou think Iâll just say âyesâ to a napkin ring?â
Sanji grins like a cat whoâs just gotten the cream âOnly if youâre truly as smitten with me as I am with you,â he teases, his voice dripping with charm âWas that not the most romantic proposal youâve ever heard?â
You blink at him. That damn smirk. Itâs hard to keep a straight face when heâs so pleased with himself.
âRomantic?â You arch an eyebrow, playing along âMore like cheesy, Sanji. I mean, come on... napkin ring? Really?â
He chuckles, brushing a lock of hair behind his ear âItâs not the ring that matters, my dear. Itâs the gesture.â He winks, leaning back in his chair, looking completely smug now that the moment has passed âBesides, Iâm sure Iâll get you a real one soon enough. Once I find the perfect one.â
You blink at him again, still processing how he just seamlessly went from a joke proposal to something that feels strangely serious. Did he mean it?
Before you can dwell on it too much, the waiter returns with another plate, this time with a much larger piece of cake.
Sanjiâs eyes light up âAh, my favorite!â He takes the plate and picks up his fork, but before taking a bite, he looks at you again, that same intensity in his gaze.
âSo,â he says, his voice suddenly more quiet, more sincere âdid you like it? The proposal, I mean. I know it was a little⊠unorthodox.â
Youâre caught off guard by the seriousness of his tone. Heâs not teasing you now, not putting on that flirty act he does so well. His gaze is soft, like heâs searching for your answer, his expression almost vulnerable.
You bite your lip, fighting back the heat creeping up your neck âI...â You hesitate for a moment, unsure of what to say. You want to tease him, but thereâs something there in his eyes âIt was⊠unexpectedâ you finally say, your voice softening âBut⊠sweet, I guess.â
Sanjiâs lips curl into a grin again, but this time, itâs gentler, less playful and more genuine. âYou know, youâre the only woman Iâd do something this stupid for.â He leans closer, his voice dropping even lower, his breath warm against your ear âSo, maybe... just maybe, you know... when the time is right, Iâll actually make it real.â
Your heart skips a beat, and your breath catches in your throat. You canât tell if heâs joking or if this is one of his moments of sincerity. But then, the way his hand brushes against yours as he pulls back from the table feels like something more.
You stare at him, and he meets your gaze, his blue eyes twinkling with something you canât quite place.
Before you can say anything, Sanjiâs finger gently taps the napkin ring on your finger, the little silver band now feeling strangely significant âJust wait,â he says softly, âthe real proposal will be a thousand times more romantic. And youâll be the one telling me yes.â
You smile, feeling a warmth spread through your chest at the thought, knowing heâs both serious and playful, making you realize that, despite all the teasing and drama, he does mean it. And maybe, just maybe, youâre a little bit more excited about the idea than you want to admit.
âYou better keep that promise, chefâ you reply softly, your voice almost teasing, but with a genuine undercurrent that you both recognize.
Sanji leans back in his chair, clearly pleased with himself âIâll hold you to it, mon amour. Youâll see. Iâm a man of my word.â
And as the two of you continue eating, the quiet intimacy that lingers between you both speaks volumes. Even if the proposal was a joke, the feelings beneath it were anything but a joke.
ââ .⊠Portgas D. Ace:
The crew is in the midst of celebrating their latest victory, mugs of rum and plates of food scattered across the long table. Everyone is laughing and teasing each other, the air thick with camaraderie and joy. Ace is leaning against the railing, surrounded by his crew, his usual playful energy filling the space.
Youâre off to the side, chatting quietly with Marco, enjoying the rare peace amidst the rowdy celebration.
âLooks like everyoneâs having a good timeâ you say, smiling as you watch the crewâs antics.
âYeah,â Marco replies, âthey definitely need moments like this. Itâs been a while since weâve had a reason to really celebrate.â He glances at you, a soft smile on his lips.
Meanwhile, Ace is leaning over the table, listening to the crew, and you notice the mischievous glint in his eyes as he exchanges a few words with Thatch. The two of them laugh, and you can see Aceâs trademark grin forming.
Suddenly, someoneâs voice rises above the others, slurring slightly from the alcohol âHey, Ace!â he shouts, clearly a little tipsy âI dare you to do something! Youâre always pulling pranks, itâs your turn!â
Ace smirks and looks over at them, his eyes flicking to the rest of the crew who eagerly start egging him on âWhat do you have in mind?â he asks, leaning in as if heâs genuinely curious.
The others grin at each other, clearly having had too many drinks âI dare you to propose to Y/N, right now!â
The crew erupts into laughter, clearly loving the idea. Youâre still talking to Marco and donât hear it, unaware of the dare.
You turn around, confused, just as Ace, with his usual confidence, strides over to you. His eyes lock onto yours, and his smirk widens, his posture already dramatic as he drops to one knee in front of you.
âY/N,â he says, his voice loud and theatrical, âwill you marry me?â
The entire crew gasps and then bursts into laughter. You freeze, completely caught off guard.
For a split second your heart skips a beat, but then you notice the glint in his eyes. Heâs teasing. Itâs the same playful look he always has when heâs messing with someone.
You swallow hard, trying to laugh it off âAce, what are youââ
But before you can finish your sentence, Ace stands up quickly, his grin widening as he grabs your shoulder and laughs loudly âHaha, come on! Iâm just kidding! You know me!â
The crew, still in fits of laughter, cheers him on, but your heart sinks. You feel embarrassed, and the sudden realization hits you hard. You knew it was just another one of his jokes but for some reason, this one stings more than the others. Youâre left standing there, staring at him, feeling both foolish and hurt.
âAceâŠâ you start, your voice quiet and suddenly trembling with a mixture of anger and something deeper. You canât put your finger on it, but it feels like your heartâs being pulled in two directions.
Ace notices the change in your tone and looks at you, the playful glint in his eyes dimming for a moment as if heâs unsure of whatâs happening âHey, come on. It was just for fun, right?â He chuckles, brushing it off, but thereâs something in his voice now, a hint of unease that wasnât there before.
You force a smile âYeah, sure, just for funâ you say, but your voice cracks slightly. You quickly turn away from him, walking off toward the edge of the ship, away from the crew and the laughter. You donât want to face anyone right now, not Ace, not anyone.
Ace calls after you, but you donât look back. You can feel his gaze on your back, but you donât know if youâre ready to face the playful tone that always comes with his jokes. Youâre hurt, and you canât tell if itâs because you really thought he was serious for a moment or because it felt like he didnât take your feelings into account.
The sound of the crewâs laughter is still behind you, but it feels distant now. You rest your hands on the cold metal of the shipâs railing, staring out at the dark, endless sea, trying to breathe through the hurt.
âHey,â Aceâs voice suddenly cuts through the night air. You hadnât realized he was following you. His playful tone gone, replaced by something softer, maybe even regretful âIâm sorry if I upset you. I didnât mean to.â
You shake your head, not turning to face him âItâs fine, Ace. Just... just go back to the crew. I donât want to make a scene.â
Thereâs a long silence, and you can feel him standing behind you, still close, but not daring to push further. You can hear the deep sigh he lets out.
âYou know I mess around a lot, right?â Ace says quietly, after a beat âBut that doesnât mean I donât care about you.â
Ace seems to sense your hesitation, and he steps a little closer.
âI was just having fun with the guys,â he continues, his voice low, almost apologetic now âI didnât think it would upset you. Iâm sorry. If you want to talk about it⊠Iâm here.â
You take a deep breath, trying to push back the frustration thatâs built up in you. You hate how vulnerable you feel, too exposed. But you canât let him see that, not right now.
âI just need some spaceâ you reply quietly.
Thereâs another long pause before you hear him step back and you finally allow yourself to breathe a little easier. Ace doesnât push you any further. You hear his footsteps retreat, but you know heâs still watching you, waiting, just in case you need him.
You know Ace didnât mean to hurt you. You know heâs always been like this reckless, playful, always laughing things off. But tonight, it felt different.
Why did it bother me so much?
You hear footsteps behind you again, slower this time, more hesitant. You sigh âAce, I said I needed some spaceââ
âItâs not Ace.â
You turn and find Marco standing there, arms crossed.
âYou okay?â he asks, but his sharp eyes tell you he already knows the answer.
You manage a small, tired smile âDo I look okay?â
Marco huffs a soft laugh âNot really.â He steps beside you, leaning against the railing. For a moment, the two of you just stand there in silence.
Finally, he speaks again âAce is an idiot.â
You let out a surprised laugh, though itâs weaker than usual âYeah, tell me something I donât know.â
Marco tilts his head slightly, watching you âBut heâs not heartlessâ he continues âHe cares about you more than he probably realizes. And right now, heâs sitting over there, looking like a kicked puppy because he knows he messed up.â
Your fingers tighten on the railing âI know he didnât mean to hurt me, Marco. ButâŠâ You hesitate, feeling vulnerable âI guess it just stung more than I expected. He laughed it off like it was nothing.â
Marco hums in understanding âBecause to him, it was just a joke. But to you⊠it wasnât.â
You donât reply, but you know heâs right. Even if you hadnât admitted it to yourself before, a small part of you had wanted it to be real.
Marco pushes off the railing and pats your shoulder lightly âYou donât have to talk to him yet if you donât want to. But if you doâŠâ He glances toward the other side of the ship, where Ace is sitting on a barrel, staring down at his drink, barely touching it. His usual carefree energy is gone âHeâs waiting.â
You hesitate. A part of you still wants to be mad. But another part, the part that cares too much, wants to hear what more he has to say.
With a deep breath, you push off the railing and make your way toward him.
Ace notices you immediately, his head snapping up, eyes widening slightly. He doesnât grin this time, doesnât make a joke. He just watches you cautiously, like heâs bracing himself.
You stop a few steps away âHey.â
Ace exhales, setting his drink down âHey...â He looks uncertain, which is rare for him âCan I...â He hesitates âCan I talk to you?â
You nod and sit down on the crate across from him. He looks relieved but still fidgety, rubbing the back of his neck like heâs trying to figure out what to say.
After a long pause, he finally speaks âI didnât think, okay?â His voice is quieter than usual, missing its usual cocky edge âI didnât think about how it would feel for you. I was just messing around with the crew, and when they dared me, I just⊠went with it. I didnât mean for it to be a joke at your expense.â
You cross your arms âThen why did you laugh it off like that?â
Ace winces slightly âBecause⊠I panicked.â
That catches you off guard âPanicked?â
He lets out a slow breath and runs a hand through his messy black hair âYeah. Because for a second, when I was kneeling there, looking at you, it didnât feel like a joke anymoreâ He pauses, his voice dropping lower âAnd that scared the hell out of me.â
He looks at your confused face, and for once, thereâs no teasing in his eyes. Just raw honesty.
âI meanâŠâ He rubs his face, frustrated with himself âI mean that maybe it wasnât just a joke to me, either.â
The world seems to tilt slightly. Your breath catches, and you stare at him, trying to process his words.
Ace sighs, leaning forward, resting his forearms on his knees âI donât know how to say this the right way. Iâve never been good at this kind of thing. But youââ He exhales sharply âYou matter to me. More than I probably let on. And when I saw how upset you were, I realized that I really, really donât want to lose you.â
You swallow thickly, your emotions all tangled up âAceâŠâ
He leans back, giving you a small, hesitant smile âI wonât joke about something like that again. I swear. ButâŠâ He rubs the back of his neck âIfâif I ever did propose⊠Iâd want it to be real.â
For a long moment, you donât speak. Youâre still mad. Still hurt. But beneath all of that, thereâs a warmth spreading through your chest, something dangerously close to hope.
Finally, you shake your head and stand up. Ace tenses, as if expecting you to walk away again.
Instead, you go closer. And before you can overthink it, you grab the front of his shirt and tug him down into a kiss.
Ace freezes for a second, caught completely off guard. But then he melts into it, his hands finding your waist, holding you like heâs afraid youâll slip away. The kiss is slow, uncertain at first, but then it deepens, warm, real, full of everything you havenât been able to put into words.
When you finally pull away, Ace blinks at you, completely dazed â...Whoa.â
You smirk, your heart still racing âNo jokes this time?â
He grins, breathless âNo jokes.â
You roll your eyes but smile anyway âGood.â
Ace watches you for a moment, then his grin softens into something more genuine âSo⊠does this mean you forgive me?â
You pretend to think about it âHmm. I dunno. Maybe you should actually try proposing for real and see how I feel.â
His eyes widen, and you laugh at the way he suddenly looks flustered. But the warmth in his expression tells you that maybe, just maybe, that day isnât as far off as you once thought.
ââ .⊠Trafalgar D. Law:
The ballroom is suffocating in its elegance, gold chandeliers, velvet curtains, and nobles dressed in the finest silks. Conversations flow with laughter, political gossip, and expensive wine. You navigate the crowd effortlessly, your arm looped around Lawâs as the two of you blend in among the guests.
This is just another mission.
Your goal this time is to gather intel on the underground auction happening later tonight. And to do so, you have to pretend to be a wealthy couple and gain access to informations. Tonight you are Lawâs fiancĂ©e.
âYouâre tenseâ Law murmurs beside you, barely moving his lips.
You glare up at him, keeping a pleasant smile for the guests âMaybe because Iâm still processing how I went from âcrewmateâ to âfake fiancĂ©e.ââ
He hums âWould you rather be my wife?â
You elbow him discreetly, and he chuckles under his breath.
âAh, you're Torao, right?â a nobleman approaches with a warm smile and glass in hand, but Law suddently snorts at the name already planning on getting revenge to however was supposed to arrange a fake name for him... you try your best to not laugh âAnd who is this stunning young woman?â
Before you can even open your mouth, Law speaks smoothly.
âMy fiancĂ©eâ
You freeze for just a fraction of a second, but you recover quickly, forcing a demure smile as the noblemanâs eyes widen in delight.
âOh, my! I had no idea you were engaged! Congratulations!â
More nobles turn their attention toward you both, excited murmurs rippling through the crowd. You barely resist the urge to shoot Law a look, because you figured heâd introduce you as a partner or companion, but fiancĂ©e? That just complicate things.
You manage to slip away after a few more introdutions, excusing yourself to get a drink and some air. Meanwhile, Law stays behind, sipping his wine in silence.
Thatâs when an older noblewoman leans in conspiratorially.
âYou know,â she hums, swirling her drink, âI couldnât help but notice something peculiar.â
Law barely reacts âOh?â
She grins âSheâs not wearing a ring.â
His fingers tighten subtly around his glass.
Another noble nods âYes, rather unusual for an engagement, donât you think?â
A dozen responses flash through Lawâs mind, he could say something like itâs being resized, or that you donât like wearing jewelry. But instead, for reasons even he doesnât fully understand, the words that come out are, âI have a ring.â
The noblewomanâs eyes sparkle âOh? Then why isnât she wearing it?â
Law exhales through his nose âI was planning to propose soon.â
The group of nobles collectively gasps.
âTonight?!â
Law immediately regrets his words.
âOh, how romantic!â one woman gushes âYou must do it here!â
Law resists the urge to teleport himself out of this conversation, but when he turns, he sees you making your way back, completely oblivious to the trap he just walked into. And something shifts inside him, because in his pocket, there is a ring. Your exact size.
He never planned to use it. He doesnât even fully understand why he bought it in the first place. Maybe it was impulse, or maybe it was something deeper, something he refuses to acknowledge.
But now he stands. The room falls silent.
You slow your steps, eyes flicking to him in confusion âWhat...â
And then he kneels.
Your heart stops.
The nobles erupt into cheers.
Law looks up at you as he pulls out the ring.
Your breath catches.
Why is he doing this? Why does he have that?
Law exhales, his voice quieter now, just for you.
ây/n,â he says, his fingers brushing against yours, âmarry me.â
Thereâs no teasing in his tone. No playfulness. Just Law, holding your hand, holding a ring he never intended to actually reveal, and looking at you like he means every single word.
The entire ballroom is silent, every noble watching with excitement. Somewhere in the distance, someone murmurs about how romantic this is, but all you can hear is the rushing in your ears, the unsteady rhythm of your breathing... because Law is holding a ring. Your exact size. And for he looks like he actually means it.
Your mouth opens, but no words come out.
Law exhales softly, gaze unreadable. His fingers ghost over yours as he holds the ring between them, and you swear you feel a slight tremor.
âUhm... say yesâ he murmurs, voice too low for anyone else to hear.
Your breath catches âWhat?â
His fingers tighten around your hand, almost imperceptibly âSay yes...â he repeats, softer this time.
You swallow hard. You know this is a performance. Something must have happened while you weren't there and he's doing all this to keep up the cover and complete the mission. But something in the way heâs looking at you, so calm, so sure, makes your throat tighten.
You force yourself to move, to push away the whirlwind of emotions threatening to consume you.
ââŠYes.â
The second the word leaves your lips, the room erupts. Cheers, applause, laughters, as the nobles celebrate.
Law stands smoothly, still holding your hand, and in one fluid motion, he slides the ring onto your finger.
A perfect fit.
Your chest tightens.
Why do you have this? you want to ask. Why do you have my size? Why does this feel real?
But instead, you let him pull you closer, his fingers resting lightly against your waist as someone shouts âThe kiss! You have to seal it with a kiss!â
Your stomach flips violently. You glance up at Law, expecting him to show hesitation, annoyance... anything.
But his expression remains unreadable.
He exhales quietly, as if resigning himself to what comes next. Then, in one smooth movement, he cups your face, his calloused fingers brushing against your jaw.
His lips press against yours as the world blurs.
Itâs soft at first, gentle, the perfect display for an adoring fiancĂ©. But then his fingers slide into your hair, pulling you a fraction closer, and something shifts.
The air between you crackles, the warmth of his body pressing into yours. Your fingers clutch at his suit, unsure whether to push him away or pull him closer.
It doesnât feel fake, not even for a second, and that breaks you.
When he finally pulls away, the crowd is ecstatic, clapping and cheering. You barely register them.
Law leans in, his forehead nearly brushing yours.
âYou okay?â he murmurs, voice just for you.
Youâre not. Not even close. But you have to force a smirk, masking the confusion, the longing, the ache in your chest.
âYouâre a better actor than I thoughtâ you whisper, trying to sound teasing, but it comes out unsteady.
His lips twitch slightly in almost a smirk.
And then, just as he turns to lead you away, his voice drops to a whisper.
âAm I acting?â
Your breath catches.
But before you can even process his words, heâs already pulling you through the crowd, his fingers brushing against yours.
âCome on,â he says âWe still have a mission to finish.â
And just like that, the moment is gone.
The ring on your finger feels heavier than it should, and now you donât know if youâll ever be able to take it off.
ââ .⊠Shanks:
The Red-Haired Pirates are celebrating their recent success, the air filled with the sounds of laughter, clinking mugs, and music. You and Shanks are at the center of it all, the crewâs favorite couple. Youâve been together for a while now, everyone around you knows how close you two are. The bond you share is evident, whether youâre laughing together, sharing a drink, or pulling off your signature âfake proposalâ routine at taverns to get free food.
Today was no different. Youâd pulled off yet another hilarious fake proposal at a local tavern with Shanks dramatically getting down on one knee and you playing the blushing fiancĂ©e, and everyone else had completely fallen for it. The whole crew had watched from the sidelines, laughing at the reaction of other people around. You and Shanks had left the tavern with free drinks and a standing ovation, and now youâre back on the ship, basking in the afterglow of your latest successful scam.
The crew is still laughing, recalling the events from earlier.
âThat was too good,â Yasopp says, slapping his knee as he chuckles âI swear, you two are getting better at this with every try.â
âYeah, honestly, I almost thought it was realâ Benn Beckman adds, leaning back in his chair.
You roll your eyes, trying to hide your smile âYou guys are terribleâ you tease, nudging Shanks playfully.
Shanks simply grins casually leaning against the railing of the ship as the crew continues to tease the two of you about your newer âengagementâ. His eyes are full of mischief, the same spark youâve always loved. But thereâs something different tonight, they seem a little more serious, almost like heâs thinking about something far beyond the joke.
âYou know...â Shanks starts, his voice quieter than usual, drawing your attention. The rest of the crew falls into a hushed silence, sensing something is about to shift âMaybe one day, we should do it for real.â
You blink, staring at him âWhat?â you ask, not sure if heâs still joking or if something else is going on.
Shanks smirks, but thereâs a certain vulnerability in his gaze now that makes your heart skip a beat âI mean it. What would you say if I asked you for real one day? Like, if I asked you to marry me, what would you say?â
For a moment, everything around you goes still. The sounds of the crewâs laughter fade, and itâs just you and Shanks, standing there. You can see the sincerity in his eyes, something deeper than the usual playful teasing.
You feel a flutter in your chest as you meet his gaze, your breath catching in your throat. Itâs clear heâs not messing around anymore.
âYou really want to know?â you ask softly, your voice a little unsteady.
Shanks doesnât break eye contact, his expression soft but steady âYeah, I do.â
Your heart pounds in your chest. For a heartbeat, everything feels heavier... your emotions swirling as you take in the meaning behind his words. Then you smile, a warm, genuine smile. You take a deep breath, knowing what this means âThen ask me, and find out.â
Shanksâ lips curl into a gentle, tender smile, and for a moment, you think maybe heâs going to kiss you right then and there. But instead, he leans in slightly, lowering his voice.
âIâll make you notice right away when itâs for real,â he says, his words full of affection âYouâll be so surprised when Iâll do it, you wonât even know what hit you.â
You laugh softly, a mix of emotions rushing through you âI canât wait...â you say, your voice light but with a hint of excitement.
Without another word, Shanks pulls you closer, his arms wrapping around you as he presses his lips against yours in a slow, lingering kiss. You melt into it, the taste of his lips familiar and comforting, and for a moment, it feels like the rest of the world fades away.
The crew is watching you two, stunned into silence at first, but then the cheers start.
âGet a room!â Lucky Roux shouts with a laugh, and the rest of the crew joins in, clapping.
You pull back slightly, your forehead resting against Shanksâ as you both smile at the crewâs reaction. He gives you a playful wink, and you canât help but chuckle.
âIâll take that as a yesâ he says softly, his grin full of mischief again.
âYeah,â you reply with a smile, still feeling the warmth of his kiss on your lips âI kinda spoilered you my answer.â
The crew continues to laugh and tease, but you and Shanks know this moment is real. It might not have been an official proposal yet, but you both understand that when the time is right, heâll ask, and youâll say yes. For now, though, youâll just enjoy this moment with him, the love between you two shining brighter than anything else.
And as the crew celebrates, you and Shanks share another kiss, a promise of whatâs to come.
Shanks barely pulls away from your lips before a familiar glint of mischief sparks in his eyes. The crew is still laughing and whistling, throwing jabs about how disgustingly in love the two of you are, and you can practically see the gears turning in his head.
You know that look.
Before you can react, Shanks suddenly drops to one knee again, right there on the deck, holding out his empty hand like heâs presenting a ring.
âAlright, alright! Since the moment is so perfect... Y/N, will you make me the happiest pirate alive and marry me? For real this time?â His voice is exaggerated, his expression overly dramatic as he bats his lashes up at you.
The crew erupts, laughing and cheering like this is the best show theyâve ever seen. Some of them start slamming their mugs, chanting, âSAY YES! SAY YES!â Lucky Roux even tosses a handful of peanuts in the air like theyâre flower petals.
Shanks is still kneeling, hand outstretched âWell?â he asks, tilting his head with a teasing grin âAre you gonna break my heart in front of my beloved crew, Y/N?â
You let out a dramatic sigh and step closer, leaning down just enough to flick his forehead.
The exaggerated thunk makes the crew howl with laughter.
Shanks rocks back like youâve physically struck him, clutching his chest as if mortally wounded âRejected⊠just like that?â he gasps, looking up at you with the most pathetic pout youâve ever seen âYou didnât even consider it? Not even for a second?â
You shake your head, grinning âOh, shut up. If I say yes to every proposal of yours, weâd be married a hundred times over by now. I canât accept two in just one day.â
The crew explodes into laughter again, slamming their mugs together, completely losing it over the ridiculousness of it all.
âI think this is the first time Shanks has ever been turned down,â Yasopp says, wiping tears from his eyes âSomebody write this down, itâs history in the making!â
Shanks, still on one knee, sighs dramatically before looking up at you with a lopsided grin âGuess Iâll just have to try again some other dayâ
Thereâs something in the way he says it, something in the way his gaze lingers on yours, that makes your chest tighten.
And then, without warning, he rises to his feet and takes your hand.
You raise an eyebrow, confused, but he just smiles as he pulls you in closer âWhat are youâ?â
âDancingâ he answers simply.
Thereâs no music playing, just the sound of the crewâs laughter and the gentle crash of the waves against the ship. But that doesnât stop him.
Shanks starts to sway, leading you effortlessly into a slow dance, like the two of you are at some grand ballroom instead of the deck of a pirate ship, surrounded by a bunch of rowdy, drunken idiots.
The crew quiets slightly, watching in amusement. But then you hear Yasopp groan âOh, come on. Really?â
âOi, weâre in the middle of a celebration, not a honeymoon!â someone else calls out.
âGet a room, this time for real!â Lucky Roux laughs.
But you barely hear them.
Because youâre looking at Shanks, and heâs looking at you.
And suddenly, it doesnât matter that thereâs no music, or that your idiot pirate family is teasing you both in the background. It doesnât matter that this started as a joke, or that moments ago, he was on one knee in the most ridiculous, over-the-top fake proposal.
Because right now, the way heâs holding you, one hand in yours, the other resting on your waist, feels so natural. So right.
You let yourself melt into him, following his lead as the two of you continue to sway in the middle of the chaos.
âYouâre ridiculousâ you murmur, but your voice is soft, affectionate.
Shanks smirks âAnd yet, youâre still here.â
You let out a quiet laugh, shaking your head âYeah,â you whisper âI am.â
His grip on you tightens just slightly, and his expression softens âPerfect.â
Then, grinning, Shanks playfully lowers you backward while holding you, like in a dramatic dance move. Catching you completely off guard. You gasp, clutching at his coat, and the crew loses their minds.
âALRIGHT, THATâS ENOUGH!â Yasopp groans âI CANâT TAKE THIS ANYMORE! If you're not going into a room then I am!â
The crew bursts into laughter, some covering their eyes, others raising their drinks in amusement.
Shanks, still grinning like a fool, pulls you back up and presses a quick kiss to your forehead.
âYou really are the love of my life, yâknow that?â he murmurs.
Your heart skips a beat.
You smile, reaching up to brush a few strands of red hair away from his face âYeah,â you whisper âI know.â
And as the crew continues their antics around you, you realize that this is the best moment of your life.

The Cook and The Teacher!
Let's pretend The Bear and Abbot Elementary are in the same city.
Another cute interaction between Carmen (Carmy) Berzatto x Abbot Teacher Femreader! Sunshinereader!
You sat at the table, doing your best to appear interested as your date droned on about his latest work achievements. Something about managing accounts, sealing big deals, and being âessentialâ to the success of his company. Youâd lost track of the details five minutes in, your polite smile starting to feel like a workout for your face.
ââŠbut you wouldnât get that,â he said, waving his hand dismissively, like you were a child. âTeaching kids and all. Itâs like... coloring books and snack time, right?â
Your smile faltered, and you tightened your grip on the stem of your wine glass, fighting the urge to roll your eyes. âNot quite. Itâs actually pretty challengingâteaching is about shaping young minds, not just... crayons.â
âSure, sure,â he said, nodding like he wasnât really listening. âBut you have to admit, itâs not exactly high stakes.â He leaned back in his chair, a smug grin stretching across his face. âI mean, no offense.â
âNone taken,â you replied tightly, though the bile creeping up your neck said otherwise. You took a slow sip of your wine, hoping the glass might serve as a buffer between his words and your patience. Spoiler: it wasnât working.
Inwardly, you cursed yourself for agreeing to this. What had Ava said when she pitched the idea? âGirl, youâre way too cute to be single and wasting away in that apartment of yours. You need to get out there. Shake things up. And this guy? Total catchâtall, successful, and probably rich. Youâre welcome.â
At the time, it had seemed like a good idea. Avaâs relentless confidence had rubbed off on you, and the idea of putting yourself out there sounded... productive, if not promising. After all, your secret crush on your cute neighbor wasnât going anywhere.
Carmy.
You couldnât help but think about him as Ben prattled on about his âhuge network.â Carmy was quiet, focused, and sweet in a way you didnât think he realized. But he was also impossible to read. Sure, youâd had a few conversations here and there, shared a laugh or two, but heâd never made a move. You hadnât eitherâparalyzed by the thought of misinterpreting things and embarrassing yourself.
Which is how youâd ended up here, with Ben. Wonderful, condescending Ben, who clearly thought your lifeâs work was a joke.
âAnd this place,â Ben said, gesturing around the restaurant with a smug grin. âPretty great, right? Super exclusive. I know a guy who knows the chef here. Heard heâs like, a genius or something. Figured weâd go all out.â
You glanced around the dimly lit space, suddenly more aware of the upscale decorâthe polished wood tables, the soft amber glow of the overhead lights, and the quiet hum of conversation that seemed to fill the air like music. It was... fancier than youâd expected.
The Bear.
Youâd heard of it, of courseâwho hadnât? It was one of those places people raved about, where getting a reservation was an accomplishment in itself. The kind of place where you know the food would be incredible, but the bill would make you question your life choices. Nice, but you were pretty sure you could only afford, like, a cup of water here.
Ben leaned in closer, grinning smugly. âThis chef guy? Supposedly some kind of prodigy. I donât know the details, but people say heâs a big deal. Good thing Iâve got connections, huh?â
âMhm,â you hummed, noncommittal, as you glanced toward the bustling kitchen. A wave of heat and light spilled out from behind the pass, where you could just make out the shadowed figures of chefs moving in synchronized chaos.
As you sipped from your wine glass, trying to find something redeemable about Benâs endless self-promotion, you wondered if maybe Ava had oversold this whole âdating adventureâ thing.
Carmy spotted you the second you walked in.
Heâd been at the pass, focused on plating an intricate dishâa delicate arrangement of seared scallops and edible flowersâwhen his gaze drifted toward the dining room. His hands paused mid-motion, a faint crease forming between his brows as he recognized you.
You were hard to miss, sitting near the window in a corner booth, your posture poised but just slightly tense. Dressed in something a little sleeker than usual, you looked... different. Not in a bad wayânever in a bad wayâ Not that you ever looked anything less than beautiful, but tonight, something about you seemed⊠striking, enough that he found himself staring longer than he shouldâve.
His eyes flicked to the guy sitting across from you. The guy who was laughing too loud, leaning back in his chair like he owned the place, gesturing with wild hands as he talked. You, on the other hand, wore a polite smile that didnât quite light up the room as it usually did.
Carmyâs jaw tightened. He wasnât sure why the sight of you with someone else tugged at his chest the way it did, but it lingered, heavy and unwelcome.
Itâs none of your business, he told himself, forcing his focus back to the dish in front of him. You werenât his to worry about.
You werenât his at all.
Still, his gaze flicked back toward your table, almost involuntarily, catching the way your date seemed oblivious to your discomfort. Carmyâs stomach twisted at the thought. He didnât know what he expectedâmaybe for the guy to notice the way you played with your napkin or to tone down his boisterous toneâbut it wasnât this.
âChef?â Sydneyâs voice broke his focus, sharp but professional.
âYeah,â he muttered, snapping back to reality. His eyes returned to the plate in front of him, the arrangement now slightly skewed from his distraction. He adjusted it quickly, his movements precise but tighter than usual. âThanks, Chef.â
As Sydney moved on, Carmy risked one last glance at you. The corner booth, the dim lighting, the guy who couldnât seem to shut upâit all felt wrong. But he pushed it down, buried it under the quiet rhythm of the kitchen, telling himself it wasnât his place to care.
And yet, he did.
He cared enough to, like some kind of creep, step out of the kitchen and hover near the hallway that led to the restrooms. It wasnât a planânot really. He told himself he just needed a breather, a moment to clear his head and shake off the knot in his chest. But he wasnât fooling anyone, least of all himself.
The low hum of the restaurant buzzed in his ears as he leaned against the wall, his arms crossed tightly over his chest. He didnât even know what heâd say if you saw him. Maybe heâd play it off, and act like he just happened to be there. But then, what were the odds youâd even notice him? You were here with someone else, after all.
It was ridiculous, he knew thatâirrational evenâ he should go back, really what the fuck was he thinking--
But the sound of heels clicking softly against the floor pulled him from his spiralling thoughts. His breath hitched as you turned the corner, and your expression turned to one of shock when you spotted him.
âCarmy?â you said, stopping mid-step. Your voice carried a note of surprise, but there was something else there tooâcuriosity, maybe, or even relief at seeing a familiar face in such an unfamiliar situation.
âHey,â he said, standing a little straighter, as if he hadnât just been loitering near the hallway like a guilty teenager. He cleared his throat, trying to play it cool. âDidnât think Iâd see you here.â
You blinked, your eyes flicking over his clothesâthe crisp white uniform. The realization dawned on you, and your brows lifted in surprise.
âYou work here?â
âYeah,â he said, shifting his weight slightly. âI, uh... I own it.â
Your eyes widened, and you couldnât help the soft laugh that escaped you. âYou own it?â
âYeah,â he said again, a bit softer this time. His lips twitched into a faint, almost sheepish smile. âI started it a while back. Kind of⊠a long story.â
You took a moment to process this revelation, glancing around the restaurant as if seeing it in a new light. The warm lighting, the carefully plated dishes youâd glimpsed on their way to other tablesâit all made sense now. Of course, this was Carmyâs place. It was thoughtful, deliberate, but somehow unpretentious.
âWow,â you said, meeting his gaze again. âThatâs... impressive.â
Carmy shrugged, his hands slipping into his pockets. âItâs just work. Nothing fancy.â
âNothing fancy?â you repeated, a small laugh escaping as you gestured toward the elegant decor. âCarmy, this place is gorgeous. Youâre way too modest.â
"Thanks," His lips twitched into a faint smile, but his eyes lingered on you, searching before he added, âYou didnât look like you were having a great time out there.â
You blinked at the sudden change in topic, your surprise melting into something closer to embarrassment.
âOh,â you said, glancing toward the dining room before meeting his gaze again. âYeah, itâs... itâs a date.â
Carmyâs jaw tightened imperceptibly, though his expression didnât waver.
âFigured,â he muttered, his voice steady but low.
âNot a great one,â you admitted, your lips quirking into a dry smile. âBlind date, courtesy of Ava. Itâs... fine, I guess. Heâs just... not my type.â
Carmy raised an eyebrow, his curiosity getting the better of him. âWhatâs your type, then?â
The question caught you off guard, your breath hitching slightly as his words hung in the air. You laughed softly, deflecting. âI donât know. Someone who doesnât treat teaching like itâs a hobby or call it a job anyone can do.â
His lips twitched into a faint smirk, and he shook his head in disbelief. âHe did not say that.â
You groaned dramatically, closing your eyes as if the memory physically pained you. âOh, but he did. Word for word, and I quote: âTeaching is important, I guess. But itâs gotta be, like⊠easy, right? Summers off, finger painting, all that?â And thenâthen!âhe laughed. Like heâd just unlocked the secret to stand-up comedy.â
Carmy blinked, his smirk fading into something closer to incredulity. âYouâre kidding.â
âI wish I were,â you said, sighing dramatically. âYouâd think he was trying out his Type Five for open mic night. And the piĂšce de rĂ©sistance? He throws in the classic âno offense.â Like thatâs a verbal Ctrl+Z or something.â
That earned a real laugh from Carmy this time, his shoulders shaking slightly as he shook his head. âWhat the hell? So, this is what youâre dealing with?â
âOh, but Iâm thriving,â you replied, your tone dripping with sarcasm waving your hand dismissively. âPeak romantic energy. Nothing like being told my career is a glorified arts-and-crafts workshop to really get the sparks flying.â
Carmy leaned slightly against the wall, crossing his arms as he listened. His expression was unreadable, but there was a flicker of something in his eyesâirritation, maybe, or quiet disbelief. âAnd youâre still out there?â
âExcellent question, Chef Carmy,â you said, pointing at him with mock gravity. âI think itâs a mix of morbid curiosity, sheer stubbornness, and maybe a touch of guilt. I mean, he did spring for the wine. Even if he did refer to it as a âtop-shelf pour.ââ
That made Carmy snort, his head dropping slightly as he tried to compose himself. âTop-shelf pour, huh? Sounds like a real charmer.â
You laughed softly, though there was a bite of bitterness in it. âOh, totally. Itâs been a real dream date. Honestly, if he makes one more crack about teaching being âeasy,â I might justââ You mimed strangling someone, your hands curling dramatically as you added a mock growl for effect.
Carmy chuckled, the corner of his mouth quirking up. âIâd pay to see that.â
âDonât tempt me,â you shot back, your grin sharpening. âIt might get me out of this date, but Iâm pretty sure assault charges arenât a great look for me.â
He huffed a quiet laugh, shaking his head. âFair point.â
Your playful energy dimmed slightly as you glanced toward the dining room. âAnyway, I should probably get back out there before he starts mansplaining the wine list to the waitress. Again.â
Carmyâs lips twitched as if he wanted to laugh, but instead, he straightened up quickly, the weight of his role as head chef settling back onto his shoulders. âYeah, I should... head back to the kitchen too. Got a lot to wrap up tonight.â
You turned back to him, your expression softening. âThanks, by the way,â you said, holding his gaze. âFor... checking in, I guess. You didnât have to do that.â
He shrugged a gesture that looked casual but felt like it carried more weight. His voice dropped slightly as he replied, âYeah, I did.â
The words hung there for a beat, his meaning lingering just beneath the surface as the two of you locked eyes. The air between you felt heavy, almost tangible, like a thread being pulled taut. You wanted to say somethingâanything. Maybe a joke to break the tension, or maybe the truth: that you liked him, that you wished it was him sitting across from you tonight, making you laugh instead of testing your patience.
Unbeknownst to you, Carmyâs thoughts ran dangerously close to yours. Heâd been replaying every interaction with you since the day you moved in next door, every laugh, every casual smile. The thought of you with someone elseâsomeone who didnât seem to notice the little things about you the way he didâmade his chest tighten in ways he couldnât explain.
But before either of you could give voice to the thoughts swirling in your heads, the faint sound of your dateâs voice carried through the hallway, breaking the moment like a needle scratching across a record. You winced slightly, the weight of reality pulling you back.
âUgh. Thatâs my cue,â you said, shooting Carmy an exaggerated grimace. âDuty calls.â
Carmy nodded, his expression carefully neutral, though the flicker in his eyes betrayed the emotions he was trying to keep in check. âGood luck out there.â
âThanks,â you said with a wry grin. âIâll need it.â
Despite his words, his gaze lingered on yours, as if searching for something unspoken. For a moment, you thought maybeâmaybeâheâd say something more, but instead, he stepped back, the faintest of smiles tugging at the corner of his mouth.
âSee you around,â he said, his voice quieter now.
âYeah,â you replied softly, your heart squeezing as you turned to head back toward the dining room. âSee you around.â
As you walked away, you couldnât shake the feeling that you were leaving something unfinished behind. And Carmy, watching you go, felt much the same, his hands flexing at his sides as he fought the urge to call after you.
When he finally turned back toward the kitchen, his jaw tightened, the moment still playing over in his mind. He rubbed the back of his neck, willing himself to focus as he pushed open the swinging door. The familiar clatter and hum of the kitchen greeted him, but it did little to drown out the thoughts circling his head.
He barely made it three steps before Richie appeared, leaning casually against the counter with his signature smirk firmly in place.
âWell, well, look who finally decided to grace us with his presence,â Richie drawled, crossing his arms. âWhatâs the matter, Cousin? Lose track of time out there? Or were you too busy making googly eyes at the customer? Can't blame you thought, she's gorgeous.â
Carmyâs jaw ticked, his shoulders stiffening. âShut up, Richie.â
--------
Your dateâs voice droned on, a monotonous background noise to your growing sense of regret. Why had you agreed to this? Why hadnât you just stayed home with a glass of wine and a good book?
Just as you were contemplating an excuse to leaveâfeigning a sudden headache, maybe, or an urgent call from a friendâa waiter approached your table. It wasnât the same one who had been serving you throughout the evening, but an older guy with an easy smile and a glimmering of mischief in his eyes carrying a small plate in hand. The plate held an assortment of beautifully arranged pastries, each one delicate and intricate, like a tiny work of art.
âOh, I didnât order this,â you said, your brow furrowing as you looked up at him.
âItâs from the chef,â the waiter replied, his tone polite but with a glimmer of something knowing in his eyes.
Your eyes widened slightly, your breath catching as you glanced instinctively toward the kitchen pass. Sure enough, Carmy was there, leaning slightly against the counter, his arms crossed. His expression was unreadable, but there was a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth, and his gaze was fixed squarely on you.
Your heart gave a little jolt, heat creeping up your neck as you turned back to the table.
Your date, meanwhile, was entirely oblivious to the silent exchange. He grinned widely, puffing out his chest a little as he gestured to the plate. âSee? Told you this place was top-notch. They mustâve recognized me. Perks of being a regular.â
It took everything in you not to burst out laughing. Instead, you bit back your amusement, your lips twitching into a barely restrained smile as you reached for one of the pastries.
âRight,â you said lightly, turning the pastry over in your hand. âMust be your VIP status.â
As you took a bite, the pastry practically melted in your mouth, a perfect blend of buttery richness and delicate sweetness. It was so good it almost made you forget the company you were keepingâalmost.
âYou know, this kind of attention doesnât happen just anywhere. Itâs all about knowing the right people.â
âMmm,â you murmured, taking a bite of one of the delicate confections. It melted in your mouth, rich and buttery, with just the right amount of sweetness.
When you glanced back toward the pass, Carmy was already gone, disappearing back into the kitchen as seamlessly as heâd appeared. But his gesture lingered, wrapping around you like a quiet reassurance, a small thread of comfort in an otherwise unbearable evening.
And for the first time that night, your smile wasnât forced.

Chapter I: when worlds collide
SERIES MASTERLIST | next

Sitting in your car, youâve been looking blinkingly at the windshield, hands trembling against the steering wheel. For ten whole minutes, youâve been frozen like this as if moving would shatter the fragile sense of calm youâve barely managed to hold together.
Your life is about to drastically change; you know it deep down. Â
âThe deed is done,â you whisper to yourself.
You let out a shaky breath, and your reflection in the rearview mirror catches your eye. You look exhausted, your eyes wide and glistening.
For two years, this moment has been building. You have thoughtfully considered having a child on your own. At first, it was just a random thought that crossed your mind, a curiosity born on one of those quiet, lonely moments where life felt both too much and not enough. Then, you deeply thought about it. The idea rooted itself deep within you, anchoring into something raw and tender: a longing to create a family on your own terms.Â
After much research and consideration, you decided to go for it.
Many people couldnât understand your choice, but honestly, you donât give two shits about othersâ opinions. What did matter to you was the support of close family and friends.
Felix, the man who raised you after your parents were stolen from you, proposed to accompany you to the fertility clinic, but you gently declined his offer. This was something you wanted to do by yourself. Well, you just came alone to be inseminated. Other than that, he has been by your side every step of the way.
He helped you to go through the countless donor profiles, and every document needed for this adventure of yours.
The process was a bit long and emotionally draining. The first steps were more like an evaluation, mostly for the clinic to understand your reasons and ensure youâve deeply thought about all the aspects. Having a kid alone isnât just about fulfilling your dreams but also about building a life for a child.
Once youâve successfully completed those steps, you had to choose the donor. There were a lot of choices; it was like going grocery shopping. You were handed a catalog of potential donors with their medical histories and first names. It felt odd to be choosing the progenitor like this. After going through every profile, one of them stood out.
Following the donor selection, your cycles and hormone levels were tracked. When all was good, youâd get inseminated on your ovulation period, which technically is happening this week. Â
So, ten minutes ago, you walked out of the clinic after being artificially knocked up.
If your egg is fertilized, in nine months, youâll welcome your very much desired baby. A tiny human who will call you mom. You already picked the names, one for a girl, one for a boy. You simply canât wait to welcome a tiny human in your life. Hopefully, the life of your baby will be better than yours.
You lean your head against the steering wheel, closing your eyes as the ghosts of your past surface.
Twenty years ago, your life was turned upside down when a terrible murderer put an end to your parentsâ lives. Nobody ever found him or her; itâs like the person completely vanished into the night. That person left behind a little girl with questions nobody could ever answer and scars nobody could understand. Â
Since you didnât have any family left, you were raised by your fatherâs best friend, Felix. Over time, he became like a second father to you. Even though you were full of anger when he took you over, he stayed by your side and helped you navigate this sad reality; one where your parents werenât part of anymore.
His daughter, Lexi is your age. You were already so close, and living under the same roof brought you even closer. Sheâs your super best friend, almost like a sister today. A smile grows on your face as you think of her. Your life would have been a nightmare without her.
Lexi was the first person to be aware of this desire to become a single mother. She even pushed you to do it as soon as you could, and she has encouraged you like nobody else. She also helped you select a donor; she even made fun of the names of some of them.
Your phone buzzes; the name and picture of Lexi appearing on the screen.
âHi,â you say when you pick up.
âSoo,â she says. âHow did it go?â
âGood, I guess?â you say with clear hesitation. âThe doctor just inserted a thin catheter, looked at the screen, and said it was done,â you explain. âNow we just have to wait.â
Waiting is now the worst part, especially since you decided not to take any pregnancy test until the next appointment. Meaning, you have to wait two full weeks.
âLetâs hope the donorâs little swimmers are good ones,â she says.
While you always wanted to have a kid, Lexi never wanted one. You and her are total opposites but thatâs what helped create such a strong bond between you. âYeah, letâs hope for that,â you smile. Â

Two weeks later
A couple of days ago, you took a blood test, and now, youâre in the waiting room, patiently waiting for the doctor to call you up.
These past two weeks, youâve been internally battling to take a pregnancy test. Itâs been hard to fight the urge to discover beforehand if youâre expecting or not. On your way to the clinic, your heart was beating extremely fast with nervousness. Even the music playing in the car didnât seem to calm you down.
Even though youâre extremely nervous, a part of you knows. You canât explain it, but you feel it deep down. Two nights ago, you were lying in bed completely exhausted after an intense day at work. The rhythm of your heartbeat was rocking you to sleep. Amidst the thrum of your own heart, you swear you could hear a faint, smaller, and quicker rhythm.
You instantly opened your eyes, scanning the room. The sound wasnât coming from outside. It felt like it was inside you. You stayed perfectly still, listening to that tiny sound. That night, you were rocked to sleep by that new rhythm.
The morning after, as you caught your reflection in the bathroomâs mirror, something felt off. Your brows furrowed as you noticed your own scent was different. It felt like it was mixed with somebody elseâs scent, but it wasnât as strong as yours or any other living human. It was extremely odd.
After a little while, the doctor says your name, and with shaky legs, you walk to her office. Your heart is beating at a very crazy pace, ready to burst at any moment. This is so stressful; it feels like time is moving so slowly.
âHello yn,â the doctor smiles at you while youâre entering the room. âHow have you been feeling?â you now take a seat.
âIâm good, thanks,â you smile back at her.
She sits down at her desk and takes a look at her computer.
âSo, did you take any pregnancy test?â she asks.
âNo, no,â you answer. âI wanted to keep the surprise for today.â
âI see,â she looks again at her screen before taping on her keyboard.
She seems to quickly read something before her smile widens. Your heart is going completely crazy. It really makes you nervous, and you try to mentally prepare yourself to receive the bad news as well. Itâll definitely break your heart but youâll try again. Â
This entire process is quite expensive, but the payment can be spread out over time rather than made in one shot. With this first payment, you have the right to three attempts. If pregnancy isnât achieved after those attempts, youâll have to go through another round and pay for additional attempts.
The doctor mentioned that usually, it takes about three to six attempts to achieve a successful pregnancy. Hopefully, youâll get pregnant within those first three tries. Youâre not entirely sure youâll be able to afford another round of insemination. Â Â
âWell, it looks like it only took you one try to conceive,â she informs you.
And right there, your heart bursts with joy. Thereâs indeed a little human being growing inside you. Youâll become a mother in nine months. You canât believe it.
A little tear runs down your face as you hear the good news. Itâs such a relief. You won't have to worry about coming back for another round.
âThatâs good news,â you clean the tear on your cheek.
âIt is indeed,â she says. âIn four weeks more or less, weâll plan an ultrasound to confirm the embryoâs implantation and check for a heartbeat,â she adds.
Well, youâll still get worried about that because maybe until there, your baby will not survive. But you need to remain positive. No need to start stressing about it; you promised yourself that youâll try to remain calm the entirety of the process and pregnancy so youâll offer a great beginning of life to your baby.
âIâm very hopeful everything will go well because both you and the donor are in good health,â she says.
âLetâs hope for that,â you answer.
You then proceed to schedule the next appointment in four weeks. You canât hide the immense smile on your face. This is the best news you got today. Nothing else will ever be possible to ruin this day.
When you leave the clinic, you instantly call Lexi.
âI AM PREGNANT!â you scream with excitement.
âYeeeah,â she screams as well. âIâm going to be an aunty!â she adds.
âIâm so relieved that this first attempt was successful,â you admit.
Once you get inside your car, you touch your belly to caress it.
âThat baby is so lucky to have you as a mother,â she says after. âAnd even more lucky to join our family.â
For sure, your family will extremely love this baby. Itâs such a desired baby, and everybody has been so excited.
âTheyâll be so loved,â you reply.
âThereâs absolutely no doubt,â she says. âDad will be so happy about this news; heâs been so excited to become a grandpa.â
Felix has expressed lately that he couldnât wait to welcome a baby and become a granddad. This man has raised you for twenty years, and you consider him as a second father. Thereâs no doubt that your baby will see him as their grandfather even if, biologically speaking, he isnât.
When you hang up, you stare into the void for a couple of minutes. In this moment, you wish your parents would be here. They would have been so happy to become grandparents, but they wonât be by your side for this new chapter of your life.
They are also the reason why youâre doing all of this. Since they passed, thereâs been a tremendous emptiness inside you that even the love of Felix couldnât fill in. This void stems mostly from the fact that you were left alone when they were killed. Youâve been feeling so lonely since then.
Throughout your life, you tried to fill it with relationships but they all failed. As far as you can remember, you wanted to follow the traditional path to build a family. However, it never worked out. Then, one day, you saw a brochure about single mothers, and youâve been thinking about it since then.
Youâve seen motherhood as a role that will fill this emotional void youâve been carrying for years. Plus, youâve also seen it as a way to finally control your life. Twenty years ago, someone decided for you what your life would become. This wasnât fair.
And you also want to give your baby the life you never got. You want to give them a loving family that wonât disappear the second the parents die. Outside of your parents, you didnât have a family. Based on what Felix told you, your grandparents were against your parents' relationship so they moved into another city to live freely and build a family.
Life hasnât been fair for you, but you want to make it fair for your baby.

Two weeks later
The clinic called you this morning to urgently come in the afternoon, only making you grow concerned during the day. You kept wondering what the reason for such urgency would be. Did they notice something when they did the blood test? Did they get the wrong blood test? Are you even really pregnant?Â
However, youâre a hundred percent sure youâre carrying a life inside you. You havenât had the ânormalâ early symptoms yet, but you can feel your baby inside you. The faint heartbeat can still be heard, and thereâs still that subtle scent interwoven with yours.
For the past two weeks, youâve repeatedly inhaled this new scent, almost to make sure you werenât hallucinating. Most of the time, you wondered if it wasnât something like blood, sweat, or the smell of your new shampoo. It was definitely an earthly one. One that only a human can possess.
Once inside the clinic, youâre instantly installed in the doctorâs room. Your heart is crazily beating inside your chest; youâre so nervous right now. Seconds later, a man joins you in the room.
At first glance, youâd think he is the CEO of a huge company. Heâs fully dressed in a black suit with a white shirt underneath, his hands casually placed in his pants pockets. This man is extremely charismatic; something about him draws you in. Â
The man looks at you while frowning, his eyes moving from your eyes to your belly. By reflex, you cover your stomach with your hands. Heâs making you uncomfortable with his intense stare.
He has a very strong bestial scent, it predominates his cologne. Everything about him is imposing, even the way his heart beats; itâs so calm while yours is completely erratic. The manâs eyes are clued on you.
The doctor arrives right after and closes the door behind her. Her face is quite serious; she even seems concerned.
âMiss y/l/n,â she takes a seat at her desk. âMister Jeon,â she looks at the man behind you. âPlease take a seat.â
The two of you sit down next to each other with apprehension. You can hear his heart beating a little faster, but he remains extremely calm on the outside. Â
âThereâs been a mistake,â she starts saying.
The words hang in the air, heavy with unspoken implications. The doctor pauses, giving you time to absorb the gravity of the statement. Her tone is gentle, but at the same time professional. Â
The sterile, cold walls of the room seem to close in around you as the doctorâs words pierce through your thoughts.
âThere was a mix-up with the sampleâŠâ your breath is caught in your throat, your hands trembling. âWe were supposed to inseminate you with the donor sample you selected. We still donât know how but you got inseminated with Mister Jeonâs sample.â
Your eyes look at the man sitting next to you. All you can see in his eyes is the same disbelief that reflects your own. So, this is your childâs father. Â
Many questions cross your mind, but they remain unspoken, lodged in your throat.
âWe truly apologize for our mistake,â she says. âWe were totally aware you both wanted to have a child alone.â
You desired nothing more than being alone in this adventure; you didnât want a present father. That was the whole point of a donor. Now, you know the father of your child, and heâd probably like to be present.
For the past months, you went through a series of questions regarding the fact that youâll raise your child alone. They asked you many times how youâd explain to your child that they donât have a father. This now feels like a complete waste of time.
âWe understand the nature of this situation. We will refund the totality of the treatmentâs costs. We can also terminate the pregnancy if you both wish.â
Those words seem so heavy and yet, they represent the reality of the choice you now have to face. A knot tightens in your stomach at the thought of undoing something you wished for so long. The baby is now growing inside of you, youâve got used to falling asleep with their tiny heartbeat. The only thought of not having it anymore breaks your heart beyond comprehension.
Right now, everythingâyour carefully constructed plans, your hopes, the small life growing inside youâseems to be slipping through your fingers.
Mister Jeon is silent beside you, his hands clenched into fists on his knees. He seems as stunned as you, but you canât help but think that thereâs something else there too. Something deeper and darker.
You ignore if heâs thinking the same thing as you, but you can feel it: the strange twist of fate pulling you both into an unknown world, one you both hadnât planned for.
âYou still have some time to decide, of course,â the doctorâs voice is still very soft.
Time seems irrelevant now. Thereâs a choice you need to make; a choice you didnât expect to face. You swallow hard, your heart racing inside your chest. Your hands caress your belly through your shirt while you only hear the babyâs fragile heartbeat.
This isnât supposed to happen. This canât be real.

Jungkookâs face went pale as the doctorâs words sank in.
âThereâs been a mistake,â she starts saying.
Just like you, the roomâs white walls feel suffocating, the air thick with a tension he canât shake. A mistake. His mistake. He tried to avoid this situation. He was supposed to go through surrogacy to guarantee a child that would uphold his lineage. His werewolf lineage, pure and untouched by human blood.
âThere was a mix-up with the sampleâŠâ the doctorâs words hang up in the air like a death sentence. âWe were supposed to inseminate you with the donor sample you selected. We still donât know how but you got inseminated with Mister Jeonâs sample.â
His eyes quickly look at you, and he notices how much youâre shaking. It seems like youâre in a more devasted state than he is. Â
âWe truly apologize for our mistake,â she says. âWe were totally aware you both wanted to have a child alone.â
Jungkook blinks, trying to absorb what is happening. A human child. Nonetheless, his child. Having children with humans isnât just a personal choice; itâs a fundamental rule of the werewolf society. The very foundation of his power as the king depends on the purity of his bloodline. To break the rule is to risk everything.
He knows better than anyone what happens to the werewolf-human hybrid kids together with the parents. They are killed by the pack. Being a king doesnât make him the exception to the rule. If this pregnancy goes to full term, not only will he be killed, but the baby and the lady sitting next to him will too. Â
You didnât ask for any of this. You donât deserve to die because of a mistake.Â
His gaze filled with frustration and panic moves toward you once more as his pulse quickens. He wanted control over the situation. He never intended to father a hybrid child. And now, not only is he involved in this pregnancy, but the child is going to carry his blood mixed with human genetics. God only knows what can happen to this kid, genetically speaking.
âWe understand the nature of this situation. We will refund the totality of the treatment costs. We can also terminate the pregnancy if you both wish.â
âThis canât be happeningâ, he thinks.
His eyes move back to the doctors, his hands clenched into fists. The thought of the entire werewolf community learning of this is unbearable. And what is his mother going to think of this?
She was the first person to support him in this surrogacy journey. She knew how important it was for him to have a child as soon as possible because heâd been struggling to find someone with whom heâd mate. Having an heir is the first thing a king should do to ensure the legacy.
Now, heâs about to have a child with a human. Thatâs not possible. This child wonât have a pure bloodline, this child canât ever be an heir. Â Â Â Â
âYou still have some time to decide, of course,â the doctorâs voice is still very soft.
The idea of termination seems dreadful, but the possibility of a hybrid child heir seems even worse. His responsibility as king, and the traditions that have been in place for centuries donât allow for such breach. To raise a kid with human blood would mean instant disgrace, not only for him but for his entire family. How could he even be respected after this?
His entire world is slipping through his fingers. His position as king is now in jeopardy. This baby will destabilize the entire werewolf community. Nobody will respect him and will only see him as weak. Weak for having a human child.
Thereâs no going back. His mind tries to find a solution to fix this, or how to undo this. The idea of raising a child with a humanâno matter how much it is his responsibilityâis unthinkable. He never desired this and hasnât even considered it. He has been so focused on maintaining his bloodline that the idea of a mistake happening never crossed his mind.
Your presence beside him destabilizes him beyond comprehension. He can see the confusion in your eyes mixed with disbelief. You canât comprehend the extension of this entire problem. You canât even comprehend the danger of mixing bloodlines, because you arenât a werewolf.
Jungkook stands in silence for a moment, his mind racing with thoughts. Terminating this pregnancy isnât something he desires, but having a child with a human is simply impossible. His heart beats too crazily, and he can hear yours beating just as fast. His heart and duty are pulling him in two different directions.
Finally, his eyes meet yours. His voice is soft but it carries a heavy weight. âWe need to decide. This affects both of us.â
After what felt like an eternity, you both leave the room completely shaken up by the news you just got. How could this be happening?
As youâre both walking in the clinic in the parking lotâs direction, none of you dares to speak. Youâre a complete stranger to Jungkook. All he knows is that youâre a human carrying his child.Â
âI canât have that child,â he finally breaks the silence.
His words cause you to stop.
âItâs too early for me to consider terminating this pregnancy,â you admit. âI need time.â
Jungkook understands your perspective. Itâs not a decision you lightly take, especially if youâve come to this clinic to have a child. Itâd be completely absurd to abort after going through this entire process.
âOf course,â he says. âBut I want you to know my point of view.â
You nod, understanding his perspective as well. This is such a horrible situation. Jungkook wanted to have an heir while you simply wanted to have a child on your own. On top of that, he doesnât look like the donor you selected.
âSo if I decide to keep it, would you be out?â you ask.
Jungkook considers your words. Thereâs a possibility that the baby could still exist, but he wouldnât be part of their life. Heâd still be losing because he wants a child, but at least this way, his position wouldnât be jeopardized, and no one would get hurt or killed. Â
âItâs possible,â he honestly answers.
You nod once more. Even though he decides not to be part of his childâs life, heâd still know that he has a kid somewhere. He wouldnât have any trouble finding you; he already knows your smell, and he has the means to find you.
âOkay,â you say.
Jungkook watches you take a pen and paper from your purse before writing something.
âThis is my phone number,â you hand him the piece of paper. âIn case you change your mind or take a decision.â
The man takes the piece of paper while you give him a small smile. You start walking away, his eyes following you until you disappear inside a car.
In this situation, he definitely would like to ask his mother for advice, but he canât. He already knows the answer sheâll give him. âThis baby canât exist.â And sheâs right, but he canât force you to terminate the pregnancy. Itâs your body after all.
In the eventuality that you decide to proceed with the pregnancy, he guesses heâll let you be a mother alone and pretend like this kid doesnât exist.

Youâve spent the last two days crying in bed. The conversation with the doctor and this mysterious Mister Jeon has been playing over and over in your head. You can still picture everything so clearly; the white walls of the doctorâs room, the apologies from the doctor, and Mister Jeonâs piercing gaze.
âThereâs been a mistake,â âThere was a mix-up with the sample,â the words still echo in your mind.
Youâve been trying to make sense of how such a monumental mistake has happened. But nothing seems to make sense. The clinic did this; the clinic took control over your decision. This chapter of your life was about you gaining control, but once more, someone decided for you. Itâs been making you angry.
Youâre furious at the clinic and their negligence. You trusted them with your project of building your own family. However, they decided otherwise. Â
But underneath that anger, thereâs another fury; one directed to yourself. You were so focused on having a child on your own terms that you didnât stop to consider the what-ifs. You didnât stop to consider that something might go wrong. And now, you are here. Â Â Â
Youâve been staring at the ceiling for hours now, your mind trying to find a solution. Do you keep this baby? Do you terminate the pregnancy?
This choice feels impossible. It feels like no matter what your life will completely change. Â
But deep down, you somehow feel some kind of relief. Because when Mister Jeonâthis intense and charismatic manâsaid there was a possibility heâd walk away, that heâd leave you to raise this child alone, you felt lighter.
His potential absence is appealing. It aligns with your original choice, to be a single mother. A choice where your child is yours, and yours alone. But then, thereâs also a possibility where he stays, or that he comes back later. What would happen then?
You press your hands against your face while a guttural growl leaves your lips. This is so damn frustrating. This should be simple. Because now, youâre left wondering what you want. Do you want to walk away from this and stick to the original plan? Or do you want to embrace this chaos, and see where this might lead?
Your hands slide down to your stomach, caressing it while you hear again the tiny heartbeat. This sound comforts you which makes you close your eyes.
For now, you donât have any answers to all your questions. Youâre not even sure youâll have them tomorrow. For now, youâll let yourself breathe. Youâll let yourself feel. And maybe, just maybe, youâll find the answers. Â
The sound of your phone ringing pushes you out of your own thoughts, informing you that you received a message. You sit on your bed before grabbing the phone on the nightstand. You received a message from an unknown number. By curiosity, you unlock your phone to read it. To your surprise, itâs the famous and mysterious Mister Jeon. Â
From unknown: hi miss y/l/n, this is jeon jungkook, the father of your child. iâd like to meet you to discuss the matter. would you be free tonight?
Your heart hammers inside your chest, ready to burst at any second. He contacted you sooner than expected. You were thinking that you wouldnât hear anything from him for at least a week. You thought youâd have more time to make a decision before meeting him. Now, it seems you donât, and that youâll have a very interesting conversation with him tonight.
With shaky hands, you start typing your answer.
To unknown: hello mister jeon, we could meet tonight
When you press âsendâ, you stare at the conversation, waiting for an answer. Mister Jeon responds instantly to your message, proposing to meet in a town square. You accept the suggestion and quickly go to your clothes cupboard to pick up an outfit.
The man seems very impressive, and you want to be presentable. Heâs after all the progenitor of the life growing inside you.
A couple of hours later, you take the road to the meeting point. Surprisingly, youâve remained calm for the entire drive. Driving is actually the only thing able to calm your tormented soul. Whenever you go through something very intense, you just drive to clear your mind.
However, since this pregnancy thing, even driving hasnât been able to help you out. You tried to drive yesterday, but it only made things worse. So it definitely surprises you that youâve been able to clear your mind before meeting Mister Jeon.
When you arrive, heâs already there waiting for you. Heâs not wearing a suit, quite the contrary. His outfit is only made of a grey sweater with a blue pair of jeans. His hair isnât perfectly pushed back as it was two days ago. It feels like youâre meeting a completely different person.
When he sees you, he stands up. As he does so, you notice he holds a box in his right hand. Itâs a small one, but it still intrigues you.
âGood evening, miss y/l/n,â he says.
âGood evening, mister Jeon,â you say back.
His presence is still very imposing, but the fact that he isnât wearing a suit anymore changes it a bit. He seems more approachable than he was in the clinic.
âPlease call me Jungkook,â he offers you a small smile.
Itâs the first time you see him smiling, and it feels like a very warm one. Beneath it all and in the midst of the city noise, you can perceive his heartbeat. Itâs quite rapid which makes you tilt your head. Is he nervous?
âYou can call me yn as well,â you smile back at him. Â
âIâve brought you a box with some pastries,â he hands you the box. âI wasnât sure what youâd like.â
Your smile grows wider at his simple but heartwarming gesture. This wasnât expected, but it lightens the mood. Jungkook seems to be a nice person which contrasts with the cold and unreadable person he seemed two days ago.
âThanks,â you say while grabbing the little box. âYou didnât need to,â your eyes look up at him.
After that, you both sit down on the bench he was on before you arrived. By the way he rubs his hands on his tights, you can tell that heâs a bit nervous. You try not to overanalyze him, because you know your mind will go crazy, full of questions.
âWhat is happening is really crazy,â he admits with obvious nervousness. âI never imagined things would go this way,â you nod.
Jungkook looks everywhere, except at you. It seems like he isnât brave enough to face you, almost like a teenager confessing his love.
âAs I told you two days ago, I canât have this child,â he finally speaks. âI really would love to, but Iâd put the three of us in danger.â
Your heart starts beating rapidly. What does he mean by âputting you in dangerâ? Does he come from a crazy family? Is he part of the mafia? This is scaring the hell out of you.
âWe didnât know each other up until two days ago, and you donât deserve to be put in danger because of a stupid mistake the clinic did,â he seems angry when he mentions the mistake. âBut I canât force you to terminate the pregnancy, itâs your body, and it was also your wish to have a child. I canât take that away from you.â
It kind of surprises you how respectful he is. Any other man in his position could have forced or paid you to put an end to this pregnancy. Itâs really admirable.
âIn case you want to keep going with it, I just want you to know that Iâll step away, and I will never come back to reclaim a role I refused from the beginning.â
You wonder what the reasons behind his decision could be. This man desired to have a child but is now refusing to have one with you because of a mistake.
âTo be honest with you, I donât know what to do,â you admit.
His piercing eyes finally look at you. For a split second, you can swear that they were red. Red like blood. This destabilizes you, and you furrow your eyebrows. Youâre not sure if youâre being delirious or if this is real.
âI wanted to become a mother, but not like this,â you continue, still destabilized by what you just saw. âSo it leaves me wondering what I should do. But if you walk away, Iâll be more tempted to keep the baby because, in the end, itâll go as I planned.â
In an unexplainable way, this man puts you at ease. It feels like you can confess how you truly feel about this situation without being judged by him. This man exudes serenity which draws you even more to him.
âI get that,â he says.
For a brief moment, you only look at him while your heart peacefully beats in your chest. His dark eyes stare right into your soul, and it feels like the world completely stopped. Thereâs just the two of you. But Jungkook breaks the contact, looking in another direction.
âIf you decide to keep the child and need any financial help, I can give it to you,â he speaks.
This man definitely seems like a good guy, and you wonder even more why heâs walking away from this.
âI wonât,â you answer. âI wouldnât have done this if I didnât have any means to take care of the baby.â
For sure you need financial stability to be a single mother, and you would have never embarked on this adventure without having it.
Jungkook runs his fingers through his fluffy hair, avoiding still your gaze. âCan I ask why you want to become a single mom?â
The question catches you off guard. You werenât expecting this manâthis strangerâto be interested in you.
âI didnât have an easy life and I grew up without my parents,â you confess. âMotherhood was something I aspired to have in my life since Iâm very young, and Iâve desired to give to my child everything I didnât have. No matter if it was with someone or alone.â
Your eyes shift from Jungkook to the square full of people. Itâs never easy to express out loud and to a complete stranger why you embarked on this adventure. Mentioning your parents is actually never easy; even after all this time.
Suddenly, you feel Jungkookâs gaze on you, but he doesnât say anything. He just stares at you in complete silence. For once in your life, peopleâs heartbeats and scents donât suffocate you. You can hear and smell them, but itâs like it doesnât matter.
For as long as you can remember, youâve had those developed skills. You can hear stuff from afar, and you can strongly smell peopleâs natural bodyâs scent. Since itâs kind of ânormalâ to you, you got used to it; but sometimes, and especially when youâre in the middle of heavy crowds, it suffocates you. It becomes simply too much.
This is something you never told anyone, too scared to be judged. Undoubtedly, people would say youâve gone crazy due to the trauma of losing your parents. Not even Felix or Lexi knows about it. They just think youâre agoraphobic.
However, lately, youâve been trying to go to some crowded place to overcome this suffocating feeling. You ignore why youâve been doing it, but youâve been doing it. Itâs still too much, but today, next to this complete stranger, it doesnât feel like it.
âIâm sorry you lost your parents,â he whispers.
You turn to look at him to offer him a little smile.
âThanks,â you mumble. âCan I also ask you why youâre doing this?â you dare to ask.
Jungkook nods before looking away once more. It definitely looks like itâs hard for him to hold your gaze.
âIn my world,â he starts saying. âI have heavy responsibilities, and having a child is one of them. But I canât have one with anybody. Iâm very limited in who is the biological mother so thatâs why I canât have one with you.â
You almost feel offended by his words. In which kind of world canât you be the mother of his child? Itâs completely crazy!
âOh,â you simply say.
âYou could have been the surrogateâŠâ you can hear some kind of chuckle. âBut never the progenitor.â
âItâs seems like a tough world.â
His eyes look again at you; you can see that he seems to hesitate with the answer.
âIt isnât,â he finally says. âBut it is with me.â
Obviously, he carefully chose his words.
âWell, I hope youâll find the right mother for your child,â you offer him once more a little smile.
âThanks,â he smiles back at you.
The two of you look back again at the people walking in the town square. They are walking around you, ignoring totally what youâre going through, what tough decision you have to make. They ignore everything about you, just as you ignore everything about them⊠Â
âIâm sorry about all of this,â he adds.
âItâs not your fault,â you answer. âItâs the clinicâs.â
Jungkook shifts uncomfortably, his gaze fixed on the people walking in front of you. His heart is racing and piercing through your ears. Heâs even more nervous than he was before, and it concerns you a bit. But you donât say anything, too afraid to scare him off if you reveal you can hear his heartbeat. Â
âYnâŠâ he starts. âThereâs something you need to know,â his voice is deep and low at the same time. Itâs so low that it almost drowns out by the distant chatter of people passing by.
You turn to look at him, your brow furrowing. âOkay,â you whisper. Â
Jungkook takes a deep breath, his jaw tightening before he exhales. His eyes donât meet yours immediately, but when he does, thereâs an intensity that makes your stomach twist.
âWhen I said my world is different,â he swallows with difficulty. âI donât mean it in a metaphorical sense. My world, my reality is not the same as yours.â
You frown even more, confusion plastered all over your face. Youâre definitely incredibly confused. How could his world be different than yours? You live on the same planet, and breathe the same air. How could it be not the same? Â
âWhat do you mean?â
Jungkook gets closer, his voice dropping even lower, barely audible. However, you still hear it perfectly.
âI am not entirely human, yn.â
Your breath catches in your throat, your heart skipping a beat. You stare at him while waiting for him to elaborate. However, Jungkook just stares at you, waiting for your reaction.
âWhat do you mean by ânot entirely humanâ?â you tilt your head.
For a couple of seconds, he doesnât speak, almost as if heâs scared to reveal his true nature to you.
âIâm a werewolf.â
The words hang in the air, heavy and impossible to ignore. It leaves you wondering if this man is of sound mind. Right now, youâre slightly concerned about his mental health, and the future of your child, if you keep them.
Your first reaction is to laugh, dismissing his words as if it is some kind of twisted joke. But the look on his face tells you that heâs deadly serious. This isnât a joke.
âA werewolf?â you repeat to make sure you hear it well.
Jungkook nods. He looks tense and he maintains his deep glance on you.
âItâs why I canât have this child,â he starts to explain. âIn my world, bloodlines matter. Werewolf bloodlines are sacred, and the continuation of my lineage isnât just about having a child. Itâs about having the right child with the right kind of mother.â
The weight of his words crashes over you like a tidal wave. You stand up, your hands running through your hair. Your mind is spinning, and your pulse thunders in your ears. This is something you definitely werenât expecting to hear today.
Werewolves? Youâre carrying the child of a werewolf?
This sounds like it comes straight from a fantasy movie.
âThis doesnât feel real,â you whisper to yourself but Jungkook hears it. Â
âI didnât want you to be dragged into this world, but you deserve the truth.â
You keep your back turned to him while you cross your arms against your chest.
âThis is something you need to consider if you decide to keep the baby.â
At his words, you freeze. Instinctively, your hands down move to your stomach. Jungkookâs eyes follow your hands.
âIs thisâŠâ your voice trembles. âIs this a viable child?â
If you want to keep going with this pregnancy, you need to know if this baby can survive.
âThere wouldnât be any reason why this child wouldnât survive because of mixed blood,â he stands up and gets close to you. âBut as they grow up, theyâll develop werewolf abilities. And, one day, theyâll probably turn into one. Itâs pretty unpredictable, though. Thereâs never been a human-werewolf hybrid before.â
Damn, this is leaving you speechless. How can this be real? Werewolves are supposed to exist in movies, not in real life. Â Â
âThis is insane,â you rub your hands on your face. âThis canât be real.â
Jungkook steps closer. His presence is grounding but nonetheless overwhelming. Â
âHow do I know youâre telling the truth?â you demand, your voice filled with panic. Â
Before you can blink, he gets even closer to you. Heâs in front of you in an instant, his hand gently grabbing yours. Your eyes look down at his hand as you notice it changing. His fingers elongate, his nails sharpen into claws, and the texture of his skin turns into something more beastly. Slowly, your eyes look up, and what you see completely freezes your body. His eyes glow a deep, predatory red, and thereâs something undeniably wolfish about them.
You take a step back while setting your hand free. As you do so, Jungkook shifts back, his hand returns to its normal form, and his eyes fade back to a human form. The transformation is so quick that it almost feels like you imagined it.
âSo what happens now?â you ask.
Jungkookâs gaze softens at your words.
âThat depends on you, yn.â

Thinking about a certain scene in Dungeon Meshi that completely encapsulates the Autistic experience of making friends as an adult and how hard it is to try and navigate it without ending up getting hurt.

Like IDK about y'all, but this is a common problem ALOT of Autistic Adults face when trying to make friends with other people, because unlike children who aren't good at keeping their opinions to themselves, Adults ARE. In society, we're even encouraged to "keep the peace" "be polite" and etc, which commonly leads to awful scenarios as shown above when Laois finds out his buddy has come to resent who Laois is without actually telling him. All too often the friends that we love to hang out with, people that we're so happy to spend time with, don't feel the same way and in many cases, come to blame us for our social cues or lack thereof.
And when/if we do eventually find out how our friend feels, Dungeon Meshi hits us with another painful panel of how that usually ends up playing out.

It's hard for Adults with Autism to make friends, and even harder to maintain them because alot of the ways Neurotypicals tell other Neurotypicals that they don't like a certain behavior is by quietly disengaging. Whether that involves having one sentence answers, going quiet, or having a certain tone in their voice, all those things signal annoyance or disapproval, but for the Neurodivergents, those subtle cues are completely missed.
And yet when we inevitably discover we DID do something, it is natural to ask "well why didn't you tell me?" because in our minds, it should've been the next step in the equation. However for the Neurotypicals, that's NOT something to bring up. Its important to be SUBTLE about the issue at hand and rely on signals to tell the other person. Blame is placed on us for not noticing the "obvious" signs of disapproval rather than the idea of talking it out as such things are uncomfortable and harder to do. Alot of the time what ends up happening is resentment due to the idea that it was "obvious" and the fact one didn't notice indicates a deliberate ignorance rather than a complete unawareness. It ends up calling into question our quality as a person and our sincerity. We get called "fake" or "malicious" or even "stupid" for failing social cues rather than questioning the decision to be indirect and vague.
For a manga about exploring the dungeon, it seems that the artist would rather explore very real and prevalent dynamics in society with the adventuring premise as a backdrop. I felt VERY seen in these panels, and many others, because it happens so suddenly and dare I say it, plainly. There's no dramatic build-up or spectacle made and in essence, it just Happens.
I think that's what makes the scene hit even harder. It seemingly comes out of nowhere for Laois, like how it always comes out of nowhere for alot of people, and it's never a dramatic twist either. It's always mundane and hurtful. A sudden unforeseen bump in the road that ends up calling into question one's entire friendship with someone and consequent other friendships. It asks "what if other friends feel the same. What if the people that I really like actually hate me and I don't know it?" Or at least that's what I came away with after reading the chapter. I've been where Laois was and the only reason I'm not there now is because I lost the naivete I had and doubt everyone else's sincerity.

i've been itching to share my swap au since i thought it up, but i think i now finally have an actual baseline to introduce it with!!
the idea isn't that it's a personality swap, but a role swap, with wander and sylvia as antagonists and hater and peepers as the protags, and i have a whole lot to say about it so im gonna go ahead and infodump below the cut
so i've renamed these two, at least, since hater's story has become less about getting over himself and more about how he sees the world Now That He's Gotten Over Himself. i'm calling him The Great (and absent) Lord Lackadaisical right now, but i don't think that's what he'd like to be called, since he's an absent ruler who doesn't really care to be in a position of so much power and would rather fuck off to all the planets with really nice hot tubs. he and Sir Peepers (his loyal knight who cannot be convinced to leave his side) travel the galaxy with hater's sweet ride (i'm not too good at designing motorcycles yet. pending).
i haven't thought of new names/titles for wander and sylvia just yet (i cannot just call him Sitter Over Therer) but i do know what their deal is, and it's the main reason i made this au (i feel like if wander were a villain he would not in fact be a villain like lord hater or dominator because i think that kinda disregards wander's whole Shit, he'd be like screwball, and even then he'd have very strong convictions that he's doing the right thing): wander has a cult (a hivemind, kinda) and sylvia is his priest.
i think wander comes along this mushroom during a time in his life when everything seems to have been torn asunder, and instead of continuing his adventures and learning and growing as a person, the mushroom offers a solution that doesn't require much effort on his behalf. the mushroom links people together borg-style, makes them share a brain and a purpose. wander not only thinks it's super neat, but he's in such a poor state of mind when he finds it, he convinces himself it's the only way to make the galaxy a better place.
sylvia is the only person in his Ring of Friends who isn't hooked up to the mushroom, because she's actually wander's friend, and she's his ride or die. she does the things she does out of free will and dedication to her best friend, including preaching and fisticuffs.
^^^ here's some more of my initial concept art. originally the mushroom was gonna be a tree, but i had a vision of an upside down mushroom (or several, to take the place of watchdogs) scuttling around and by god is it easy to make that look like his hat.
the thing that really really pushes wander over the edge is the sheer boredom of it all. when he's connected to the mushroom, he's very little more than the brain they all share. he can't move around, and that KILLS him (see: the hole lotta nuthin). so when hater (name pending) comes along and refuses to join him and annoys him enough, he gets suuuuper stoked about having something to really DO for once.
anyway. this is what i've got for now. do you like it. you can be honest if you dont like it
#myart#wander over yonder#wander#lord hater#commander peepers#sylvia the zbornak#lord lackadaisical#sir peepers#uhhhhhhhhh. whatever i end up tagging swap wander and sylvia as#txt#swap au#swap wander#sister sylvia

cause we're, y'know | k. bakugou
âź tags ; gender neutral reader, fluff, post relationship jitters, bakugou being down bad a little bit, friends to lovers. not 18+ but minors do Not follow me.
âź wc ; 1k
âź a/n ; a comm for @euthymiya who gave me free reign to do whatever which i used to write corny bkg fluff... thank u for commissioning me most beloved riv <3
âź synopsis ; bringing his friend turned lover a lunchbox is normal, alright? plenty fucking normal.

Bakugou taps his fingers along the edge of the bench he's been sitting on since evening - beating to an unsteady rhythm.
He can hear Sero's voice in the back his hand as he squeezes the wrapped bento a little closer to his torso. The shitty, sing-song teasing lilt when you and Bakugou were less then lovers but more then friends.
And now you're lovers proper, as fucking corny as he finds it. But maybe he's not finding it corny enough because he's sitting in the lobby of your office building with a bento he made by hand. There's some chatter from strangers coming in and out of your office building - the occasional ding of elevators, the passing whistle of a janitor.
The awful, loud, no good thump of his heartbeat ricocheting against his rib cage as he goes back and forth on whether or not this shit was a good idea.
He's... fucking nervous. Which is total bullshit because he doesn't have anything to be nervous about. It's not like this is the first time you and Bakugou have ever met up to eat lunch. It was just that before, he was coming to meet you as a friend.
Some part of him is thinking, so what if he's your boyfriend? Who gives a shit, anyway?
Another part of him feels so mixed about the ordeal he sort of wants to puke.
His phone buzzes from the pocket of his pants and he grabs it - your phone and contact flashing across his screen
(sent 11:12am) coming down :]
Bakugou smiles to himself, at the stupid emoticon. He thinks about just liking your reply but before he gets the chance another text follows through.
(sent 11:12am) missed you <3
He blushes almost furiously. Partially over the text but mostly from his internal reaction. Stupid. This whole thing is so stupid. He types fast.
(sent 11:14am) hurry your ass up.
That's all he can manage to say without feeling like his chest is going to collapse in on itself. He waits another minute before he hears the elevator doors ding again - a crowd of people dispersing as the doors open. He looks for you among them.
He finds you after a minute, hand waving overhead of the sea of people. He huffs, amused at how rapidly you wave your hand, and thinks about texting you again but you're close enough that he doesn't bother.
You march towards him with a renewed vigor after you aren't lost to the sea of strangers. Bakugou snorts as you hurry your way over to him, almost seeming out of breath - like you ran to see him.
"Hey,"
"Hi!" You say, chipper as always. "You're here."
"No shit."
You laugh. He's heard it before. A hundred times, a thousand maybe. It still sounds weirdly different to him.
"Did you have anywhere in mind to eat?" You ask.
Horror dawns on him at the realization you still didn't realize what's in his hand. "I'm up for anything I think. Feeling adventurous."
Your eyes are sparkling when you ask. Bakugou freezes, blue screening momentarily before taking a breath.
He holds the boxed bento out to you sheepishly, a hand scratching the back of his neck. This is way more embarrassing then he thought it'd be.
"Fuck. Whatever. Look," He says, shaking the upset off of him with a frown. " He doesn't look up at you, doesn't even want to know what he might see. Something bright enough to fucking blind him, he's sure. "Don't say shit or I'm never making you one again."
You blink owlishly before letting your eyes flicker down again at what it's in front you. There's a beat of silence between you before Bakugou sees a grin slowly creep it's way up to your face in a way that makes his chest feel tight.
You take the wrapped bento from him, assessing the weight of it in your hand as you give it a good look. You hold it up to admire it and Bakugou feels the blush crawl further down his neck.
"Stop acting like I just handed you a diamond or some shit," Bakugou says lamely, even by his own standards. Your lips form into affectionate pout.
"You made me a bento." Your lower lip trembles all too sudden and Bakugou's eyes go wide. "I love you,"
?!
Bakugou looks at you, mouth agape. You're completely serious. Nevermind the inappropriate timing or the fact this is the first time you've expressed yourself with a word so serious. He's more concerned about the almost tears at your eyes. He pulls his sleeves over his hands to wipe them from your eyes.
"Dumbass, what are you crying about? You're still in the office, get it together."
"But I love you," You say, more whine then coherent word. Bakugou feels a headache coming on.
"Yeah I got that. Am I really such a shithead me bringing you lunch is worth sobbing over?"
"You made it for me."
"Cause I ain't no punk. Anyone can pay for you you but we're," He stops himself mid way, too embarrassed to get the rest out. "Anyways whatever. It's just lunch. I just... fuckin' realized I never made it for you. Dinner and shit is one thing but we're,"
"Dating," You finish before he can. He falls victim to more blushing.
"Yeah. Whatever. This much is pretty standard, at least." He wipes another tear off your face. It's funny. Anyone else pulled some shit like this and he'd rolls his eyes. "Stop cryin' already."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't gotta say sorry either."
"But,"
"No buts. Hurry and wipe your tears before your breaks over so you don't go all puffy eyed back in the office."
You laugh through a sniffle. "They'll think my boyfriend was being mean to me, huh?"
He snorts, voice full of playful sarcasm. "Yeah exactly. I've got a great reputation to uphold and all."
"Katsuki," You say gently. He gives you a look.
"Hm?"
You lean forward, craning up just slightly to press your lips to his. Your third kiss, now. Not that he's been counting.
"Thank you and," You pull back mischievously, brows furrowing. "Revenge."
He's in so deep. Fuck.
"You're such an idiot." He says, fighting off his own feelings.
"You love me,"
Maybe he's an idiot too.
"Yeah." He says, flicking your forehead and watching you beam. "Unfortunately."
