I haven't really seen anyobody talk about this here-

Caracalla lost everybody close to him (father figure and twin brother) on the same day, both technically by his own doing, but doesn't even remember half of that anyway, and is now desperate to keep at least one person around, still. he might not even remember his own screaming voice demanding her crucifixion due to her betrayal. and if he does, he clearly wants to take it back and keep her alive and around him. in terms of human companions, she's all he has left. except for Macrinus, of course, but he's still new and another father figure, unable to fill that gaping hole Caracalla's real mother has presumably left and Lucilla is going to leave if she dies. but since Macrinus has the emperor wrapped around his little finger already, just a few words from him convinced Caracalla that this was, in fact, necessary and the only way; thus, sealing Lucilla's fate.

so REVENGE, HUH? or justice, if that makes you feel better. it tastes the same when cooked just right. A frustrating development with the growing lack of reading comprehension I've personally noticed is an emerging fervor of insisting things aren't canon unless they are explicitly stated beyond all reasonable doubt.

I can not emphasize enough how harmful a mindset this is to have. Yes, it's wonderful to have characters outright say "I'm trans," but to deny a character's identity for not saying that is dangerous.

Plenty of real people prefer not to use specific labels. Historically, people didn't have our modern terms or modes of expression. Many modern cultures don't use these terms, either, and plenty of people within those that do can't safely openly identify.

If the only representation you accept as canon is within modern (and let's be honest, wealthy white able-bodied American) standards, then you are denying yourself and others a huge amount of representation and seriously limiting the media around you.

Hi, I saw your last post!

It's a bit funny to me. I moved from Sonic to Castlevania precisely because Discourse made it intolerable to me, only to see that many people who produced content back in the day moved out of Castlevania for... Discourse, let's just say. But I think I still got the right timing, because not only I found a small yet tightknit community of game fans where I was free to be creative in my own way, now the game fandom is getting fed in all sorts of tasty ways <3

Anyway, my point is, while at first I didn't really like reblogging old art (which was a problem since the best art I've seen was made, like 10 years ago lol), you were one of the artists I found during my binge. I think your CV art is still striking to this day, although I have no doubts that you've improved further since then :) I especially like the way you use thick lines and bright colors, and the soft way you draw faces and the waves of the hair

(also, well, I'm biased because CoD is my favorite CV game, and you have drawn some spectacular Hector, Isaac and Trevor <3)

I think I just wanted to say that I fully understand the feeling of having to distance yourself from something you love, but still being tied to it. And if you ever decide to come back... we're using the tag "akumajou dracula" now. For Reasons ;)

As someone who just watches from afar these days, seeing the paradigm shift starting to happen in the CV fandom right now has been pretty vindicating and uplifting! It is a much better time to be an active fan of the games than it was when I was participating in the community a few years ago, that's for sure.

I'm still really grateful even my old and less polished work was able to bring some joy to newcomers to the fandom though! It's been a really pleasant surprise to see the influx of engagement lately and I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by to mention it. I like to at least think my work has seen some improvement since then, so perhaps I'll put that theory to the test if I ever revisit some of my old CV art in the present 😂

Hector and Trevor are my beloveds right next to Leon and Mathias, all of which rotted my brain for immeasurable hours of my life, but they are hours I look back upon very fondly! It'd be a treat to draw them again some day with (potentially) new and improved skills and now seems like a great time to do so at that. I may not be an active participant in the fandom nowadays, but I will always be a lover of the franchise regardless 💙

How fucking telling is it that for the most part I don't care about The Dragon Prince bc it was always my sister's interest, not mine, I was just roped into watching it, BUT the four parts of it I do care about are:

1) The lesbians

2) The honestly kinda toxic relationship that is the embodiment of "Your hands are scarred with murder and yet I trust them completely"

3) The character who destroyed and betrayed herself for nothing in hopes of saving whatever remained of her family

4) The dead child whose death influenced the fate of the world

Okay I have a question. What do we think was Richie & Ambers plan if Tara didn’t decide to get her inhaler at Ambers house? Like I am not against plot contrived “we gotta go into this party” moments in Scream movies honestly I’m not criticizing the writers for that - I’m asking for an in universe explanation because I’m currently drawing a blank.

Tara just happened to need to stop at Ambers house but what if she didn’t? What if she said she could hold out & wait til they could get to a pharmacy? What if she suggested stopping at her own house instead of Ambers?

It’s just kinda funny like, he was fake against going to the house which makes sense - but also - what was the actual plan here?
