What were the aspects of Supergirl (show in general or character) that resonated with you personally?

First and foremost, Kara herself... as someone with a ton of trauma, who would have every reason to do not so great things or wield her power for evil, yet does good things and channels her energy into trying to help people -- she's amazing. She is someone who feels isolated a lot of the time and struggles with anger issues but ultimately is such a light and a good person and somebody that just wants to do good for the world, even when it's not always appreciated or understood. Even if it means constant self sacrifice.

I relate to pretty much all of that.

I also loved the idea of Supercorp obviously, because it was such an epic tale in how they were so similar but so different and so inherently fated to be side by side. It could've been so successful if canon romantic on the show instead of just baited. Taking the decades-old lore of Super vs Luthor and instead turning into Super & Luthor -- a story of hate turned into a love story -- that's an incredible concept, and so rich and full of so much storytelling potential. Them just being friends is the 'lite' version of turning that lore on its head. But to go even deeper would've been nothing short of revolutionary.

Alas, instead they chose to tarnish the show's legacy and taint the good it DID do elsewhere in LGBTQ representation (because YES a show can have ancillary rep but still queerbait a lead dynamic -- especially when it's bait that existed before any other rep was even introduced on the show) ...by choosing to be one of the worst examples of queerbait in TV history (due to all of the romanic tropes and parallels and teases and lack of denials by TPTB who very clearly wanted people to stay tuned in based on hope for canon endgame since that very first Clois parallel in 2x01). It was also just an absolute waste of creative potential and true travesty that ultimately only hurt the show and cast and fans and everyone involved, whether everyone is ready to admit it or not.

Anyway, I enjoyed the fact that so many of the characters -- from Kara and Lena (these two especially), to Alex, Nia, and Kelly... so many of them came loaded with one form of trauma or another, but they still were ultimately inherently good people, a great example of 'found family', and heroic as heck in the end, no matter how dark it got at times for some. In large part because they had each other. I mean, I wish they all weren't LITERAL superheroes or supernatural by the end because I think the show (amongst numerous other issues) lost sight of their own messaging that "anyone can be a hero even without powers" but -- they really were inherently such good / ripe characters, the women especially (plus Brainy and J'onn).

Sure, they all (again, the women especially) often were sadly let down by superficial or just plain poor writing and overall creative direction a lot of the time, especially in the end -- but at the core, everyone could find something to relate to in at least one character, if not multiple characters, and that's great.

I know much like fans of Dana Scully in the 90s, a LOT of girls/women were inspired to get into STEM over this last decade now because of Katie McGrath's portrayal of Lena Luthor. And even more people related to Lena's trauma as a survivor of lifelong abuse at the hands of her family and especially her unhinged brother. Seeing that someone can slip into darkness as the result of years of sadistic mind games and abuse of all kinds but still come out the other side a hero, empowered, and a good person who helps others and is capable of loving and deserving of being loved? That's beautiful, and Lena offered that to SO many viewers, so it's no wonder she was a top fan favorite second only to the lead herself. And seeing how that impacted people, was so very moving.

Seeing people impacted by Alex's coming out arc in Season 2 was amazing. Having the first trans superhero on TV was amazing. And so on...

Look, there's a lot the show did wrong. In fact, possibly more was done poorly or wrong than well or good, overall, unfortunately. Alas, there were some little sparks of light to be truly appreciated.

But again, for me, I connected most to Kara's story, her strength, her dichotomy, and her indelible sense of HOPE... despite every reason at times to give up. And to the Kara/Lena love story, in all its infinite, incredible, and still mostly untapped potential.

The Duffers said that Will's emotional arc is gonna play a huge role in season 5 so I do think this isn't over. I think all that suffering Will went through is for a reason. We cannot know why the Differs decided to make Byler half-canon but just like Shawn Levy said, in stranger things, there aren't many coincidences. This is why I believe that maybe that Byler dynamic will play a role in season 5, whatever it is. I simply do think that if the Duffers were planning to queerbait people, they should have stopped giving Bylers useless hope or they should have addressed the situation just like they did with Stobin in the past. Making money and views using Will's unrequited love for Mike is disgusting and it will defo ruin the reputation of the show since LGBTQAI people will not shut up about that. If they don't address the situation, it's maybe because they want to preserve that ambiguity. They show us that when they tweeted stuffs like " when you pause the show at ... To ...will they , won't they couple?". They know it's what most people in the fandom care about so they play with that.

Yeah, I feel like the Duffers should probably say something if byler isn't going to happen (which I don't think it will), because there are going to be a lot of people upset if they don't. I don't personally believe that they're leading people on though. People will look into everything, whether there's actually anything there or not. It's not the Duffers fault that a lot of people just happened to start shipping two characters that they never intended to have a relationship like that. Mike and Will have always been friends, they always will be friends, but that's all. I've never seen anything from Mike showing that he likes Will romantically, he only loves El. Will is going to have a major role in ST5, but that doesn't mean byler is happening, Will is going to have to come out and learn to accept himself, have support from his friends and family, and move on from his crush on Mike. I think that's his actual arc. So yeah, it's complicated when the fandom is so big and there's tons of people reading too much into things, but that's my take on it.

FULL OPINION ABOUT MOOMINVALLEY 4 SPOILERS FOR MOOMINVALLEY SEASON 4 ⚠️⚠️⚠️

THE CHARACTERS:

There were some new characters introduced (like Joxter and Aunt Jane) that I thought were really great, along with others we've seen shine this season (Snork and the Groke), which I’ve been very pleased about. I know some people have complained about Sniff, but I thought he was rather cute, even if a bit annoying.

I particularly loved seeing Moomintroll more mature compared to his season 1 arc, where he would cry to his mamma (lol) and instead actually take charge of "operations." Moominmamma was great as always, and Moominpappa was really funny this season. Snorkmaiden also seemed more mature than at the beginning.

Some characters were definitely more discreet (COUGHCOUGH Snufkin COUGH), but overall, each had their moments.

NEGATIVE POINTS:

As I mentioned, some characters were left out, like Snufkin. I think it's odd that he didn’t get any episodes focused on him, especially since (correct me if I’m wrong) it seems like most characters had their own episode in this final season. It feels like he was barely present, even at times when he could have easily been included (like the Midsummer bonfire).

Another point, which ties into my last, is the weird getting back together of Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden. While I love the pair, we’d already established in previous seasons that this couple was not working out. For example, in the episode where they have their own house, or in the last episode of season 3, where Moomintroll is said not to be Snorkmaiden's soulmate. I love seeing them together as platonic friends, but not as a couple—it feels weird and rushed that they’re back together in a single episode.

And this leads to the final, and maybe most problematic, issue: the Moomintroll and Snufkin dynamic. In previous seasons, their relationship seemed to be gradually leaning toward something more romantic, especially in season 3 with the "Lonely Mountains" arc. Even as someone skeptical of ships, I thought the show was hinting at a romantic pairing. So, for season 4, I had expectations, but we ended up getting less than nothing. While there were some sweet moments, the lack of Snufkin this season makes me feel like they were avoiding any development of that buildup.

I'm genuinely disappointed. Not because Moomin and Snorkmaiden got together—good for them, I guess! ✋😭✋ But it just feels like they completely disregarded the whole Snufmin relationship here. It really sucks that the representation ended up feeling fake, especially from a show with an openly queer creator.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time (looking at you, BBC Sherlock 🫵😡), but it really can't keep happening. I wouldn’t have minded if Snufkin and Moomin weren't hinted at by the show itself, only to give false hope and, I guess, use those hopes for economic reasons.

CONCLUSION:

Okay ! It seems like there’s ton of negative points there but I swear I love that show 😭 It’s just that I feel like queerbaiting is not talked about enough and I hate that it keeps happening even in 2024!

but anyways, the show was great, and kudos to the animation crew for that great looking show 🙌💙

Is Moominvalley queerbaiting?

I wasn’t invested in voltron when that was a huge thing, so I can’t say I know for sure what it felt like for people to be teased with ships, but I kiiiinda get that feeling from moominvalley. There’s so much deliberate snufmin and I’m sure that people working on modern moomin works know The Deal ™️. I got into the show because of all of the clips of the soft wholesome gay scenes they were given. But then when I watched the show I had mixed feelings. Mostly when it got around to season 3. Like? They know people see the clips on youtube. People always get super excited abt that as the show is releasing and it spreads. They probably know that it brings a ton of people. And it’s one thing if there’s stuff that’s super ambiguous. A bunch of shipped snufmin from their experience with the rare crumbs in 90s moomins. But this is a lot more than that. And it’s great and sweet in the moment because it makes you hope and think it might happen. But then they cut back to him with snorkmaiden and it feels like we’re being jerked around ig? Especially since he’s not having a what do I do I like both of them thing. He just goes fully snorkmaiden. And I haven’t seen the finale yet. And I’m hoping so bad that I’m wrong on this. But if it ends without that going anywhere my question is: what was the point? There’s been so much potential and they seem to do this on purpose because there’s stuff there that can’t be an accident with how it’s framed. And it’s nice that the moments exist but when you look at the full narrative it makes me wonder if that was just used to bring in more fans. Because it wouldn’t matter if the fans weren’t happy if they went along for the whole ride before being given the answer no. The company would’ve still made a profit. Just like previous shows. It just would feel disappointing?? It would’ve just been waved around to get attention only to amount to nothing. After years of watching and hoping. I seriously hope that season 4 does make it canon. I want all of the build up and glances and planning to mean something. I don’t think I would expect a kiss even. Those aren’t really just given in the show anyway. But something to acknowledge a more romantic direction. Something to answer what was interrupted on the mountain. It’s such a comfort show to me. And there was stuff in the story that made me feel happy and safe about my own identity. Because of the idea that everyone’s welcome in moominvalley. But I started feeling a little betrayed in season 3. There were moments for sure between snufkin and moomin. But they still went heavy with snorkmaiden. It felt like this sort of cloud ig? Like they’re reminding us that moomin and snufkin isn’t the endgame. And if they never intended it to be then why’d they put in so much possibility and will they won’t they throughout. Only to drop every bit of build up.

I've had ten people mention to me that "You have the books" whenever I talk about my disappointment with the Michael(a) change. And I find it so hypocritical because it would be so insensitive if someone adapted a sapphic love story and then decided to change the gender of one of the characters. The very same people crying about "you have the books" "bffr it is just a show it's not that serious" would be throwing hissy fits if the opposite was done. One girl got bullied and made fun of because she had stayed up all night to watch Bridgerton and ended up crying. She was disappointed with how Polin was handled and then was even more shocked with Michaela that she started crying. Like?? Please have some nuance. You can't act like it isn't "serious" but at the same time talk about how important LGBT (and other diversity reps) are important (they are!!). Because if it isn't that serious than it isn't that serious to care about a show not having LGBT characters as a lead? The logic isn't there.

I am angry about Michaela. Just like how I would be FUMING if any of my LGBT ships were altered or messed with. My OTP is literally Nico and Will from Percy Jackson series. If someone decided to make one of them into a girl, I would fucking riot.

It is very simple.

I would have the same reaction for any type of character.

If we change a woman into a man. Or if we change a queer couple into a heterosexual couple.

I would have the same type of reaction if we did this to any franchise with characters that are close to my heart and of whom I already have a precise image formed in my head.

The worst part is that I'm not completely outraged.

Part of me is happy to tell myself that we will have a central queer romance between women in future seasons. It's always cool to see representation when you're a queer person yourself.

But with Bridgerton I don't feel like it was the right place for this type of central romance.

Because there was already a story for Michael and Francesca. Which will surely be very different from the book in the show. While once again, it's literally the best of the lot and for which I hope for a fairly high level of loyalty. But Netflix also decided to go into fanfiction mode for WHWW.

And yes it disappoints me a little. And I'm not ashamed of it.

Who cares if I'm ironically called queerphobic for that / or for hating queer people. Or that tumblr is apparently a gay website, under the pretext that many members of the queer community are there, and therefore it is not the place to make this kind of comment.

I remind that I'm bi and that I love tons of queer romances and that I actively hate queerbaiting. I'm still not over Supercorp to this day by the way...

The fact is that the situation is very simple but many people deliberately do not understand our discontent. We have loved a male character established within a specific story for years and we do not appreciate that all of a sudden, we are deprived of the expensive and bone vision of a Michael Stirling that we have already waited a long time.

Besides, for the most part we would hope that they would not screw up the trio Fran, John and Michael, as they were able to do with Anthony Kate and Edwina (seriously, the madness with Edwina went too far in season 2). Well it looks like it's also on the verge of being destroyed. Fran didn't seem to enjoy her first kiss with John, but she seemed to have an instant crush when Michaela appeared, while Michaela didn't seem to have any particular reaction. And that already goes against all the foundations laid between these three characters... and that annoys me even more.

There’s only one “tervo” scene where Terry reveals he’s been practicing punching for Korvo’s Christmas present and they share a kiss which is the best kiss we’ve gotten from them.

There’s a lot of little things through out the season the word “husband” is thrown around a lot, in episode 2 Terry refers to Korvo as babe a personal fave of mine. There’s also huge implications they’re having sex with each other which you know helps.

The main episodes with the biggest Tervo moments are episode 3 The Pupas Big Day and episode 8 The Cubic Lattice Crystallizer

The Pupa’s Big Day features jealous Korvo in the best possible way (this is my personally favorite episode in the series by the way)

I don’t want to ruin the episodes for you but Terry is buddy buddy with a new character and it drives Korvo crazy. In the end the episode ends with with this line:

After the fam goes on vacation and a few shenanigans happens until Terry and Korvo end up a museum of betrayals which features an animatronic of Korvo getting banged by Chris the red goobler

This sets off Terry who shows quite a bit a jealousy from the situation I’m not going to show it cause of tumblr’s nsfw rules but the animatronic says something along the lines

“I’m coming harder than I do with Terry”

The final scene I want to talk about come from the season finale The Fog of Pupa. Ms. Frankie reveals the cunnilingus Korvo gave her in the s2 finale and Terry give him this look:

It’s just screams Terry’s pissed at Korvo for this but why would he be if they weren’t in a relationship??

Out of everyone, you should know that Bylers basically are doing the same thing as the Johnlock fandom. It is important to recognize that this behavior has its roots in a legitimate concern - lack of representation. However, it is important to realize that both of these fandom places are coming from the same mentality.

It creates myths in terms of analyzing media - such as believing showrunners would use a character's sexuality as a plot twist to catch most of the audience by surprise, and this would be progressive somehow.

we already talked about this a lot in the past in this fandom...

I was only lurking and reading stuff/ watching the videos about it for sherlock but I never 100% believed it would happen, I was still not sure because it wasn't as obvious as byler, it was a bunch of stuff you could explain differently and the writers explicitly were making fun of it

byler is not the same as johnlock or any other queerbaiting ship... the writers are not hiding it at all and there is no conspiracy like for tjlc where the writers TOLD US that it was not happening many times but WE REFUSED TO LISTEN

Some fans think that Harry is going to have a stunt baby because of all the mentions in the articles about him wanting kids. Do you think they'd go that far? I really hope not but he was talking about kids during HH promo and now all the articles saying that he wanted to start a family with Taylor and that he is ready to settle down in his 30s and find the one and have kids. For how long will he get away with this, saying he wants kids but continuing to be linked to tons of women? I agree with what you said about how his future beards will probably be 1 year+ contracts to make it look like he is serious about settling down. So he is 30 now. It's always wise to look at options like this by which purpose it serves. What purpose would it serve to give H a stunt kid?

Harry's image is curated to make him look desirable and available. He's stunting for two reasons, to get attention (he gets papped more and gets more attention when he's publicly in a relationship than when he's not) and to have a beard to make him look straight. His stunts usually serves both purposes, but the PR aspect shouldn't be underestimated.

Constantly having a new relationship will give you loads of PR, but since he's hit 30 fans will expect longer relationship and less flings. Longer relationship is harder to use for PR, unless it's a very public and stunt heavy relationship with a fellow celebrity. Fans will tire of it after awhile and the PR effect is gone. Stunt heavy relationship are also taxing on H.

About a stunt kid, do you mean a kid that's not biologically his? That he pretends to raise and stunts with? Who is the real parents? Who is the mother that H is raising the kid with? Are they together or not? I think that would be very difficult to do, because he could end up in a similar situation to Louis. Be an absent father who is constantly working and touring, who hardly ever sees his child.

Would a child benefit his career? No, it would age him up further and make him seem less desirable and available to his target fans. It would be a nail in the coffin for the one's who wants to marry him. Unless they want to be a step mom, which i doubt a 18 year old wants. Would a child help closet him? Yes, if he wants a more permanent solution to keep a straight image, rather than having multiple gfs, it would be an option. It could prove hard to get out of though, and i don't think he could continue having an androgynous image and act gay on stage. He'd be accused of queerbaiting (don't even bother bi/pan defenders, i'm just stating what would happen). I don't think a kid would be a good idea if he wants to (has to) continue to prioritise his career. So i don't think it has a purpose that will makes things easier for Harry and advance his career. Quite the opposite.

I really hope he's allowed to come out in the next few years too. It will get harder and harder for him to get PR from stunting, unless it's a dramatic one again, and the effect will wear off. We'll have to see how they spin the narrative next.

first things first ultra despair girls is most certainly some kind of spinoff in this universe! so its not considered a main storyline/killing game however it is still on ongoing series! i imagine after 53 seasons the danganronpa timeline has been seriously fucked up and udg is absolutely one of the main reasons its so wonky, you can IMAGINE all of the conspiracy youtube videos trying to piece that shit together lmfaooooo. but yep udg is a running spinoff series starring toko, komaru, and the warriors of hope (who are teenagers in this au at this point!!). it also features a range of other villains and side characters that were introduced later on :] udg definitely isnt as popular nor is it as consistent in its production as the main danganronpa story is (while danganronpa has at least one season per year, udg has one maybe every three), but it still gets a whole lot of views !! which means toko and komaru are unfortunately in it for the long haul </3

they live seperate from each other however they're over at each others apartments so often that they basically live together LMFAO. they rely on each other SO so heavily. i personally think they have romantic feelings somewhere underneath their fear of losing each other to the mental trauma of danganronpa however there is NO WAY danganronpa would ever let them be a couple. the most theyre allowed to do is queerbait ghfdsjkghjkdf. if they confirm anything between the pair they are destroying an entire market of fans they can profit off of and also likely losing hella sponsorship money. its extremely difficult navigating a relationship like that, where they have become so heavily codependent on each other not only because their wellbeing relies on the other being healthy and well but also because they've grown so close it's impossible to imagine a future where the other isnt involved somehow. everything danganronpa has put them through, it has usually been TOGETHER, which means they've bonded through those experiences. is that healthy? absolutely the fuck it is not however there is no time or space to navigate that or to spend time away from each other (even if they wanted to, which they don't)!!

the pair stay relatively close with the warriors of hope-- or at least komaru does lmfaooo. like i said before the warriors of hope are teenagers at this point (honestly theyre probably mius age!! which sparks a lot of hypothetical interactions LMAO) so they dont really need babysitters or anything like that but because there are not very many people who could possibly understand what they've gone through they tend to stick together!! a few of them, at least. i imagine nagisa is a lot more distant and kotoko probably has other friends she talks to a whole ton :] people that arent constant walking reminders of her current and past traumas lol

komaru also doesnt talk to makoto as often anymore! they kind of keep in touch and definitely see each other at press conferences and all that, but the relationship has become somewhat strained. its a bit awkward knowing they arent actually related!! theyre still kind to each other and care about each other like actual siblings but its hard not to feel sad around the other unfortunately :(

and toko definitely doesnt talk to byakuya much anymore besides the occasional promotional material LMFAO. they dont despise each other but both have done a lot of growing and a lot of that included distancing themselves from each other

It has multiple canon queer character as of season 4! There is a married lesbian couple in the backstory, and though they die, there is another canon lesbian couple that is currently alive and engaged to be married. There is also a married gay couple (though one is currently in a magical prison), a nonbinary side character, and, as of season 4, a trans man in the main cast. He gets a sweet coming out scene and everything.

The lead writer and producer is bisexual, and has said that all characters are bisexual until proven otherwise (though I don't have that screenshot on hand at the moment). Even if that's a joke and not a serious word-of-god, there are queer people in the writers' room, so it's not just a bunch of straight people dangling representation as bait. There are also multiple queer people on the cast who have talked about how well the crew has treated them, so it seems like the behind-the-scenes is pretty solidly queer-friendly.

I also think it's worth noting that the first three seasons of The Dragon Prince were released between 2018 and 2019, when a ton of things were changing in the American animation landscape re: queer rep. (For timeline context, the She-Ra finale was in 2020.) I can only speculate if Netflix censorship affected the writing in the first three seasons, but I think it's worth noting the timeline if nothing else.

tl;dr, it's not queerbait, and more queer characters are being added as the show progresses!

My criticisms of RWBY rn under the cut.

I'm going to focus on volumes 4 and beyond. HBomberguy did an amazing job on the issues with volumes 1-3, and I agree with all his points. I'm mostly going to be discussing plot and the handling of queer relationships.

First, the plot. It's like Miles and Kerry finally decided on the story they wanted to tell... 4 volumes in. So, to catch the viewers up, they spend massive amounts of time on exposition dumps that just grind the pace of the story to a halt. RWBY does have cool ideas in it, it just... Cannot communicate them in the way necessary to actually tell a compelling story. I believe it was V6 with the giant lore dump about Salem and Ozpin/Ozma. Now, don't get me wrong: there are times in a story where someone will have to explain a plot element to someone else. Nothing wrong with that. But the absolutely hamfisted way the story was handled makes it bad. The constant exposition dumps got to be exhausting.

Penny is another major issue. You're telling me you killed her off, brought her back, very explicitly made her human, only to kill her off again? That's... Stupid. No other way to put it. I was fine with Penny returning! I was happy about it, actually! I thought the concept of an android taking on the powers of a Maiden was a super interesting idea. What makes a person human? What makes them have a soul? If Penny, as an android, is basically immortal, is the Winter Maiden's power permanently protected, in a way? Could she pass it on without dying? How would this affect her relationship with Winter, who was supposed to inherit the Maiden's power? But nope. Miles and Kerry wanted to kill her off again for really, what is no reason (except making viewers sad. But deaths need to be motivated...). If you wanted Winter to be the Maiden so badly, just make her the Maiden in the first place. The Penny plot with it ended up being really dumb.

Fairgame was another problem. I didn't personally ship it, but it was being pretty strongly hinted at, and I don't blame MLM for feeling betrayed by the way it ended -- again, very stupidly. The fight that killed Clover made absolutely no sense, and his death felt wasteful. I'm not MLM so I don't have as much to say, and others can make the criticism better than I can. Just wanted to touch on it.

And... The Bees. They're still dancing around each other, and at this point, yeah, it's queerbait. I would have disagreed before Vol9, but... It's ridiculous at this point how Miles and Kerry are dragging it out. "But it's slow burn!!!" That ship sailed a long time ago. Either make it explicit that Blake and Yang are together, quit having them dance around the notion, or drop it. It's especially egregious because it feels like Miles and Kerry are like, "Look at this ~progressive queer relationship~ in our story!!" without actually doing the work necessary. You can make Jaune's sister wlw (and name her after Sappho for more sweet, sweet Progressive Points!) but you can't explicitly state that Blake and Yang are a couple? It's cowardly.

And the new plot in the Everafter isn't very good either. We've never heard of this story about Alex before in the show. It feels like another plot point that got randomly added without a ton of thought. It could've been such an easy fix, too. Blake and Ruby both enjoy reading. Just have one of them reading the story in an earlier volume, and have another character comment "oh, I read that as a kid, too!" Boom. Now, you've got an actual through-line! But I just can't be invested in the story as it stands. I don't know who Alex is. I don't know why her story matters, even when RWBY is insisting it does matter. The gimmick with fairy tales/folk tales/etc is wearing thin, and I'm tired.

I really did enjoy RWBY, but in its current state, I have fallen out of love with it. I hope it gets better, because the fans deserve better.

okay so, the main character is The Boy Wearing cdg. This boy is in love, this love is fervent and unexpected, like a “fever in the summer”, there’s no way to escape it. He is still childish, and his infatuation is impulsive and capricious, despite how strongly he feels it.

they say the whole instinct is based on Freud's theories (some who are awful, others very interesting and accurate in some way). i wont get into edipus complexes and the phases, i'll stick to the basic premise: the human psyche is composed by three main parts Id, Ego and Super Ego. each one of this parts, no matter how much we despise any of them, is crucial to who we are as a person.

Ego is what we do and the way we interact with the outside world, translated more literally as I, the ego mediates between the Id and Super-Ego, trying to walk the line between them without falling to deeply in any of the sides of the spectrum.

Super Ego is basically our moral code, what we have learnt about society and its structures and what we need to do and the duties we need to fulfil to be worthy (translated as Super-I). the super ego is shaped not by our parents (or caregivers) themselves but by our parent’s own Super Ego, what they wanted to fulfil and be is passed down to us. most of the time, there’s a religious component in it, and guilt can be one of its main tools to keep us in shape.

finally the Id is what bring us to Instinct. The Id is the first part of us, we are born with it and we navigate life hearing it faintly, in the back of our heads. it’s the subconscious, and it can be dormant most of the time. until we want something desperately. here is were libidO makes its appearance. The libido, according to psychoanalytical theory, is not only a sex drive, but a full on life force, our energy comes from the libido under the principle of pleasure, which makes us look for everything that makes us feel good, it can be food, riches or a person, it doesn't understand waiting or patience, it only wants instant relief. therefore, the libido needs to be contained, for our own good, we cant only listen to it, because the Id is selfish and animalistic. Instinctual.

so, the Id and the Super Ego fight. a lot of the time, our desires are unavoidable, we cant escape them, but we can simply not act on them.

so, as the description box says, the Boy tries to ignore it and conceal his love and attraction. he tries to suppress the libido, do his part and what his moral and conscious tells him to do. but he can’t really help being in love, as he is young and therefore still deeply connected to his instincts, almost like a newborn. and what happens when you suppress something? It only sticks into your subconscious harder. dreams, according to Freud, are where our subconscious has all the power and we’re defenseless against them. so maybe the love story between the boy and his object of affection happens in his dreams, and dreams talk very loudly, deafening volumes, which will only make the boy craves this love more and more. so, finally, he gives up and lets his libido run wild.

but!! tear of gOd is another song in the album, and they tell us the Boy is having a talk w god in it (probably the woman in the sage mv?). god, at least in christianity, is the main source of a moral code, so in it basically the Boy will be answering to his own Super Ego about the whole giving into his instincts thing.

now that it’s all over, i gotta say how incredible and bitterly hilarious it is that not even greed is stronger than homophobia.

like, people love misha collins. people love castiel. when they killed cas off in s7, viewership dropped by thirty percent and they had to scramble to rewrite him back into the show - and he’s only gotten more popular since then. at spn conventions, they have two costume competitions - one for castiel cosplayers, and one for everyone else. there are only a fraction of sam and dean costumes compared to cas costumes. misha is, as far as i know, the only cast member to do photo ops as his character - he puts on the suit and coat and takes pictures with fans while behaving like cas. people love it.

and people love destiel. it’s one of the biggest ships on the fucking planet. it has 90k+ fics on ao3. you can find destiel merch just about anywhere. after 15x18, destiel trended online over the presidential election. 

a ton of people tuned into the finale just on the hope that cas/misha would return, that they’d been lied to when it was said 15x18 was his last episode. if they had teased a clip of cas coming back - forget that, if they had teased a clip of a kiss? millions of people would have tuned in to see it happen. people who’d never watched the show and never would have watched the finale would have watched. sure, they would have faced some blowback from the conservative fans, but that wouldn’t have mattered after the finale.

and if they had embraced cas and embraced destiel, they could have milked that cash cow for years. they could have marketed to the entire queer community, they could have patted themselves on the back and “proven” they were never queerbaiting at all. they could have grown the fandom instead of shrinking it. the money-making opportunities on cas and destiel are practically limitless.

instead, they fucked over not only cas fans and destiel fans, but dean fans and sam fans; i’m not in w*ncest and bronly circles, but i can’t imagine even they enjoyed this, considering sam just moved on with his life after dean died and they were separated for 50 years. people are utterly furious. there’s a real chance that this fandom is going to completely implode, game of thrones style, and nobody will want to go to cons or buy spn merch anymore. it could have been cool to like spn, now it’s more embarrassing than ever before.

and all that because some dudes out there were like, i hate the idea of two men kissing more than i love piles of money. that’s fucking wild.

Basically everything starting with the fact that I didn't know (and still don't know) how to take the gender change from Michael (a male character who has existed since 2004 and whom I have personally loved for several years already) to Michaela Stirling and that I was hoping that Sophie Beckett's character wouldn't undergo that kind of change no. more in the future, as many people were hoping to see her become a man on screen (and thank god that apparently won't happen) for a romance with Benedict. This kind of opinion has caused me to be insulted as a homophobe and queerphobe in general.

Why is this important when we are talking about a story of plagiarism ? You will understand.

The fact is that I am not homophobic or queerphobic. Those who follow me have already seen me posting on queer community posts and talking about my frustration with queerbaiting. Not only that but also know that I am a bi woman. (And contrary to what the antis say, no that's not a lie to be able to better spread my anti-LGBT remarks, which I have never had !)

As for this plagiarism thing, it turns out that someone (apparently named Grace, so we'll call her that now) accused me of plagiarizing her post that I liked, my own post having been post a few hours later after her own post :

The fact is that it is logical that the arguments are found when we talk about canonical events that happened in a show that we have all seen and a book that we have all read for the most part. We literally state canon things in these two formats. Logically it looks similar.

Also, officially, the reason I wrote this post is because, like I said, I saw a conversation talking about the topic : Will the plot be the same despite the gender change by Michael ? Essentially, that make me write my little post was this.

So Grace came in the comments and reblogs on this post to accuse me of plagiarism and I basically told her that well no, without being particularly mean or rude in my opinion, and only one person that I know of came to take my defense in comment @theweeklydiscourse and once again, she was polite and not mean. If you don't believe me, here's the conversation in the comments section :

Then, this person decided to publish a post asking for a second opinion / others opinions, to confirm whether or not I had plagiarized her.

I wasn't active at the time when she had to do it, and when I went there (since she had essentially tagged my name, obviously I had gotten the notification) she had blocked the comments and reblogged on her post.

Then later her account could no longer be found. I thought she had blocked me.

And that's when I received the news in anonymous that she was in the hospital because she hurt herself, because I apparently had harassed her, had encouraged my friends to also do this, that she would have received insults and death threats in comments and also private messages, etc.

And if all this (the party where she received hateful comments and private messages up to death threats) is true (because I remind you that we do not have proof that this is the case !) I have absolutely nothing to do with it.

Maybe yes, it's possible that Grace received hate messages from my community, or not from my community for that matter, because in the end we don't know since she deleted everything. But the fact is, whatever was in those comments, I know absolutely nothing about it.

I repeat I did not harass this girl or encourage anyone to do so !

Having myself been the victim of harassment almost throughout my schooling and having also had problems on tumblr, I can assure you that I will never encourage anyone to harass !

And the fact is that now I receive tons of hate messages, accusing me of plagiarizing people in a general way, of being anti LGBT, of pretending to be Bi to spread my LGBT hatred in tumblr. To advocate pedophilia (because I like Sareth and Sessrin I guess ?) incest, (because I like Daemyra and Borgiacest I guess ? In addition to writing a story myself with an incestuous romance between brother and sister in a fantasy world ?) abuse of all kinds, etc. (We really need to teach these people that liking things in fiction has nothing to do with real life...) I have not read the novelisation book of the first season of Wednesday, i have however seen snippets here on Tumblr.

And they're so clearly gay from what I have seen and i am so mad about it. I hate the entire department of netflix responsible for this show, cause I personally and honestly all of us have seen how this fucking plays out before.

I mean why drop this goddamn book now almost two years after the show? I'll fucking tell you why.

We first drop the show and we give the main character not one but two 'official' love interests but then we go ahead and give the main character so much more chemistry with their same sex best friend to draw in queer people so they start shipping the two heavily, sounds good until now? Good.

But then we make a two year gap (it's usually much longer) which is just enough for a lot of the shippers to unfortunately face reality that this ship is probably not fucking happening. But then and only then we drop a book basically written by one of those hopeless shippers and set the whole fucking fandom ablaze and resuscitating the ship, but as i have told you we've been through this before and spoiler alert it doesn't end well for us.

This next part is my prediction which mark my words will sadly come true, nothing not a fucking thing will happen between them in the upcoming season and all of this is just to stirr the pot in preparation for the next season.

I'm so sick of queerbaiting and i'm so sick of big production companies like shitflex using and exploiting us for their fucking profit.
