i just realized I didnt finish writing sorry yes i meant type of food
Yes I figured something was wrong, anyway it's ok.
I wouldn't say I like sour foods. As I grew older I started appreciating all flavors and what they bring to a dish but I still don't feel that fond of some.
I don't really like spicy stuff either (I'm talking about when it stops being just a bit spicy and it starts burning you. You lose the taste of the food idk).
So my basic answer is, I like sweet and salty foods.

i have COVID for the second time ever. got it from my dad who probably got it from spending all his time at breweries.
i’m mostly fine but my throat has itchy painful golf balls in it, my lower back is killing me, and i have almost the lowest level headache possible, just enough to not be able to ignore it.
anyway i’m just venting bc i’m grumpy and mildly out of it.

i dont think theres any one food that can bridge all autistics preferences and sensitivities but if i could beam a thought at every new-food averse autistic to try its lentils........ i kept seeing people picking out mexican and indian food specifically as difficult to try/find safe foods because they both tend to be spicy/intense/complex and i think part of that is probably sampling bias that in america people just arent as likely to go to a restaurant for more mundane foods so youre less likely to find or be suggested these simple comfort food style things but in my eyes lentils are like the next tier down from like, rice, for easy & palatable & highly extensible base ingredients

idk why my parents always make fun of me and shame me for being a picky eater, and made me believe i was a picky eater for a long time, when in reality there’s only two vegetables i don’t rly like and i’ll try most foods. including stuff they won’t touch like sashimi

i keep getting food and eating it, knowing that when i ate it 5 years ago it was delicious, but then it just tastes like shit.
and then i eventually go back to it thinking, "oh well maybe this time itll taste great again" and then it still just tastes like shit
this has been a problem since before covid & you'd think i would learn by now

I bring a sort of “growing up feeding me was an unwelcome chore to be dealt with as quickly as possible” vibe to cooking as an adult that my digestive system dont really like

Things my thesis supervisor has done that I cant stop thinking about:
- saying georgian food was his favourite cuisine in all his travels. And he's been to a loooot of places
- texting back 'Yeap' after I asked him if he received my thesis
- telling me and my fieldwork partner that the only way to resolve our conflicts was a fight to the death
- letting me buy a kinder surprise egg on university money
- saying 'oh? Not on top?' (he's gay, knows I'm gay) after I dropped on a bottom bunk and I said 'nah not this time' and he started laughing and I was like 'WAIT HOLDUP'
- bringing too many rocks back from fieldwork so he had to pay 509€ extra for suitcases one of which was a plastic supermarket bag because all of our suitcases were already too heavy
Love him <3

i hate going to a restaurant that's been super hyped up, only for it to be the blandest shit imaginable.

the sheer disconnect between the last reblog of the tacos versus going on twitter and seeing a photo of COMPLETELY unseasoned chicken in a pan frying. please. season the food. you Always need more spices than you think you need.

fun fact : andres cannot taste. it's more just feeling the texture of food that they experience and so often it opts not to, even though it can eat.
