Post-duvos Grace and Qi are so funny bcuz they’re both so smart but Ik they’ll get invested in the dumbest shit to prove they’re better than the other one. I just feel like they get in the stupidest arguments they wouldn’t get in with anyone else.

Qi, who normally would not give two shits about his alma matter, would definitely pull out “Hm. It seems my university is superior in many respects including our football team” (he has no idea how good the football team is) and Grace, who also couldn’t care less, pulls out a “YEAH? WELL OUR BASKETBALL TEAM WIPED THE FLOOR WITH YOURS.” (She also has no idea how good any of the sports teams were.)

Another silly idea I have floating around in my head is Qi going to the blue moon saloon to get a tea and grace is just like “Smh ofc it’s a Friday night and you’re drinking tea” and Qi, who normally would respond with a “yes and what’s wrong with that?” Takes the bait and responds with a “and what would you rather I drink?” And they get into a drinking competition bcuz Grace is under the impression Qi can’t hold his liquor (he cannot but she barely can either.) (Qi wakes up with the stupidest hangover pissed off that he fell for her trick and Grace wakes up with a bit less of a hangover but equally as stupid and upset that she had a genuinely intellectually stimulating conversation with Qi about Gungham)

I also think it would be silly if they did a cooking competition where both of them lose because neither of them can cook a good omelette. Grace thinks hers have improved enough to at least beat Qi who doesn’t cook. They both almost burn down the kitchen.

I just think they egg eachother on in such a specific way where they just can’t resist. They bring the most spiteful parts out of eachother. They get eachother in such a personal way that they know all the buttons to push. And despite it always going badly it’s so fun for them, especially Grace.

I feel like they frequently have battles of wits that neither of them have had for a while and it’s so nice to have someone who you feel you can go back and forth with who you’re more or less equals with.

I also have the funniest idea of Trudy trying to make them get along better post-duvos by assigning Grace as Qis assistant for like a week and they both know this is an AWFUL decision. And it is bcuz they both need too much control. So naturally, they fight over every conclusion reached until a great solution to the problem arises and it’s just a moment where both of them try to disprove eachother but realize neither of them can and every statement that ends in them all agreeing causes more and more excitement until they both decide they’ve finally figured it out. it’s the most excited they’ve both felt in a while over something that really is not a big discovery and is really just them solving a minor problem.

Brennan’s talked before about how as a poor young adult he lived in New York and struggled with food security. He tells a story of going to frozen yogurt places for free samples and a cheap dumpling spot because it was a lot of food.

His opinions on food and his described behaviours around food make a lot of sense in that context. He may be successful now and can be assured he can eat again when he’s hungry, but it appears he has legitimate trauma around his experiences with poverty because what he’s humorously describing is a trauma response. His mind hasn’t gotten rid of the anxiety of “I’m eating now so I better make it count because I don’t know when I will again.”

Because he’s a comedian he manages to frame it as a joke, but there’s certainly an underlying sadness. It also informs Evan Kelmp’s characterization. Capitalism is the root issue here and poverty is state-sanctioned economic abuse.

Anyway, I hope he’s doing well and taking care of himself.

are people seriously not understanding that the whole point of colin's arc this season is him trying to be something he's not??

like sure the brothel scenes are a little weird and jarring but like they're meant to be??? because he's not actually that into it, he's just trying to do what all the other men his age are doing so he can fit in??

the writers aren't trying to 'turn him into anthony or simon' or make him a rake because that's what we're used to - HE'S trying to turn HIMSELF into anthony or simon or basically any of the other guys who this comes naturally to; who enjoy sleeping with lots of different people somewhat emotionlessly and don't get lonely because of it (and no judgement to that it's just not him)

he literally kisses Pen ONCE and absolutely loses his mind over it because its obviously never felt like that for him before. that moment is his 'oh so that's what that's supposed to feel like' moment and that's how he knows he's in love with her its literally so good???

i understand people feel like its rushed but honestly to me it feels perfectly in character for him to discover the solution to his loneliness he's been searching for all this time and immediately dive into it headfirst. that moment right at the end of ep4 where he asks her to marry him is the most authentic colin i think we've seen all season. he's sweet and funny and playful and passionate and impulsive - he's finally stopped trying to be someone he's not and now that he knows who he is and what he wants he's all in.

I'm once again having feelings about how LoL-Jayce is arrogant narcissist and how Arcane-Jayce has the start of someone getting a big head and leaving old friend behind story, but then he just...doesn't. Yes, Jayce gets more tangled up in politics, but even then he doesn't leave Viktor behind. Arcane-Jayce doesn't get sucked in by how much he likes fame, I think it could be argued Arcane-Jayce doesn't like that.

Especially with the heavy-handed mug after this, you would think this scene would be here to parallel maybe how their relationship changes later, but no!

At the final of S1 you would think it would establish new relationship dynamic but no, Jayce is presenting Viktor to the council as his partner and Zaunite.

Actually no, I lied there is possible parallel to their relationship changing! But again, it's not Jayce being a dick or anything, it's Jayce saying he's going to resign and just work with Viktor. (I imagine resigning from the council is something that isn't really done and Jayce is being slightly desperate in "we make this right, together!")

TLDR point being that I fully believe Jayce crying "I never asked for this!" and love how Jayce has an archetype but he goes against it.

i fully believe that the Rat Grinders will be revived after all is said and done and that their deaths aren't permanent, which is why I personally LOVE how fucking brutal the Bad Kids were with them this ep. it really drives home just how one-sided the Rat Grinders' obsession with them has always been—they go into this ready for epic, cinematic, toe-to-toe combat, but the Bad Kids categorically Do Not have the time or the energy to get into their whole deal right now and drop them in like two rounds. fuck non-lethal damage, they need these assholes out of their way YESTERDAY. there's truly something so fitting to me about the battle-hardened Bad Kids having no patience for coddling the Rat Grinders when the world is actively ending. like yeah yeah, we can figure out who's actually evil later and bring you back to life, but everyone currently trying to resurrect a dead god is going in interplanar timeout right now while the grown up adventurers clean up your mess, sorry

Reading The Way of Kings is really funny so far because you go from reading about Kaladin and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day(s) to Shallan and her sailor buddy Yalb's wacky book-buying adventure back to Kaladin about to fucking kill himself.

could we please talk about that sleepover the Foxes had after Baltimore because i think it was so sweet.

like in tfc they two groups hated each other and couldn’t stand each other and then in tkm they all ended up sleeping in the same room after what happened to Neil (since he was also the one who united the two groups ig).

“Matt and Aaron shoved the couch out of the way” as much as Aaron says he hates Neil, even he saw the importance of being together that night and even helped and hopefully didn’t argue about them all being together which that i also find really sweet.

they all have their issues but they’re united when it matters, i also think this was a turning point where they didn’t care about their feud they just wanted Neil back after almost losing him.
