with hands raised upwards, showing nothing within palms, he slowly takes a knee, lowering himself down to their level. "i'm unarmed, okay? i've got nothin' on me that's gonna poke you, stick you, hurt 'ya. you have my word." a wild animal would bite if provoked or fearful, so movements are slow, purposeful, trying to keep his voice calm, even with the potential he could find himself at the end of that blade. "just listen t'me. i'm here to help you."

It takes Izzy a moment to respond to that, wanting to make sure he heard that right. "You opened a-... are you fuckin' serious, Bonnet?" Truly, though, he wasn't all that surprised about it. Because Stede could be really fucking clumsy. Sometimes it was funny as hell, other times it was concerning. "And still to this day, Bonnet, you fascinate me." He smirks, making his way over to the other man and gently cupping his face in his hand, tilting it back and then turning it to the side so he could get a good look at it. "How you injure yourself in ways like this will never cease to amaze me." It was half a compliment, half an insult, though he wishes Stede hurt himself a little less. "Honestly? I would've run the fucker through if someone did this to you." And he meant it, too. He'd run anyone through that dared lay a hand on his Pretty Bonnet. "Now go sit down, you twat, and let me clean you. You're still bleedin' a little." He nods to the chair, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips before he goes to fetch some ointment and a washcloth.

Do you want to talk about it? Cyno doesn't know the answer to that question any more than he knows how to comprehend everything that had taken place. Admittedly, Cyno's never brought it up with anyone before, and it had just been blurted out for Al-Haytham.

Though the comfort is nice. Cyno doesn't often seek it out, especially when he's feeling especially low. Perhaps Al-Haytham knew Cyno would need that comfort.

"What would I even say?" Cyno asks, letting his eyes close. He's far from tired, though. "You were there." Cyno isn't great at opening up about anything that bothers him. This is new territory.

noticed a dip in posts about palestine on my dash, so i think it deserves to be said again: palestine is not a trend. caring about genocide is not a trend. there are still reports about humanitarian aid trucks intentionally blocked off from gaza, meaning so many fucking gazans, a big portion of them children, are just bleeding out with no help. it just came out recently that israelis disguised as women and medics infiltrated a west bank hospital, at which point they killed 3 palestinians (whom they claim were militants. right). these people are living day to day without even the most basic utilities. anyone who claims to have “activism fatigue” needs to question why they’re so severely lacking in the most basic forms of compassion. you don’t get to just grow bored of talking about palestine. please never stop calling attention to the genocide happening full force in front of us.
