WHY DID YOU PICK UP WRITING?           i’m  pretty  sure  i  first  started  by  writing  shitty  warrior  cats  fanfics  actually,   and  i  didn’t  know  that  fics  or  fandom  in  general  was  even  a  thing  at  the  time  so  u  could  say  i  was  destined  for  this  sort  of  brainrot   fgdjkh   little  nine  year  old  me  also  encountered  rp  for  the  first  time  by  searching  for  warrior  cats  flash  games   (i guess??  idk  what  i  actually  thought  i’d  find)   and  instead  wound  up  on  some  random  webpage  with  a  chatbox.  moved  on  from  there  to  writing  awful,  horrible   (but  very  fun)   naruto  oc’s  on  a  website  that  i  think  was  called  chatango  some  years  later,   dabbled  a  little  on  imvu,   and  started  writing  on  tumblr  around  2015  iirc

DO YOU HAVE ANY WRITING ROUTINES?          i  wouldn’t  say  so?  sometimes  i’ll  listen  to  like…  instrumental  interludes  from  certain  albums  or  smth  that  i  won’t  enjoy  too  much  because  i  find  music  very  distracting,   not  just  for  writing  but  in  general,   and  sitting  in  silence  is  a  weird  feeling  to  me  too.  when  it  comes  to  other  things  i  need  a  podcast  or  video  essay  or  something  similar  to  be  at  all  productive  but  it’s  hard  to  focus  on  writing  with  someone  yapping  in  your  ear.  i  used  to  save  writing  for  nights even  when  i  have  free  time  throughout  the  day,   because  i  tend  to  feel  bad  about  sitting  at  a  computer  screen  all  day,   but  with  my  activity  in  its  current  state  i  have  to  sit  down  and  get  it  out  the  moment  inspiration  and  energy  align  themselves  for  me.    

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT WRITING?         sorry  to  steal  your  answer  but  i  def  have  to  agree  with  what  layla  said  re  the  community  aspect  of  rp  actually.  it’s  so  nice  to  be  able  to  just  click  with  someone  over  a  shared   (sometimes  niche)   interest  and  love  for  certain  medias/characters/dynamics/genres  etc.  the  feeling  of  finding  someone  who  shares  your  vision.  and  also  stemming  from  the  same  thing,   i’ve  always  felt  that  my  favorite  and  most  “solid”  muses  are  the  ones  that  i’ve  gotten  the  chance  to  develop  alongside  another  through  plotting.  love  shared  canon,  love  affiliated  oc’s,  love  group  verses.  allllll  that  good  stuff.  

THREE THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR WRITING.         gonna  break  the  format  we’re  following  here  because  i  have  to  ramble  and  idk  how  to  break  all  this  into  three  titles,     so  obviously  being  succinct  isn’t  one  of  the  answers  here   kfdjghd

i  always  try  to  capture  a  different  flow  and  style   (???)   of  prose  depending  on  who  i’m  writing,   and  i’m  never  sure  if  that  really  comes  through  for  others  or  if  i  just  seem  inconsistent,   but  whenever  i  look  back  at  old  blogs  i  can  see  it  for  myself  and  that  at  least  keeps  me  content   :)   i  want  to  read  my  writing  back  and  feel  that  it  has  character  outside  of  just  the  spoken  dialogue.

i  like  to  spend  a  lot  of  time  with  a  piece  of  writing,   which  realistically  is  not  to  my  benefit  in  terms  of  activity,   but  i  do  just  really  enjoy  drafting  and  redrafting,   rearranging,   nitpicking  at  everything  until  it’s  as  close  to  being  what  i  want  to  be  as  i  can  get  it.  so  that’s  more  about  the  writing  process  than  the  writing  itself,   but  i  think  it’s  still  important  to  allow  myself  to  have  fun  with  it  fkjghd

pulling  a  blank  on  a  third  thing  bc  this  is  actually  a  really  difficult  question  but  i’ll  come  back  and  edit  it  later  if  something  pops  into  my  head  kfjgdh

HAVE YOU MADE ANY STRONG  CONNECTIONS  /  FRIENDS DURING YOUR TIME WRITING?          for  sure.  one  of  my  dearest  friends  in  this  world  is  not  a  writer  but  someone  who  i  met  as  a  mutual  friend  of  my  first  rp  partner.  i’m  not  really  in  touch  with  that  person  who  introduced  us  anymore  but  i  simply  couldn’t  live  without  my  bestie  and  i  consider  writing  the  only  reason  we  really  met and she gets to kinda "beta" some of the things i do write   dfkgjhd   i’ve  also  traveled  to  the  states  a  couple  of  times  in  my  teens  to  meet  a  rp  buddy  who  i’ve  known  since  i  was  around   ,,   twelve  or  so  i  believe.  

wouldn’t  be  right  not  to  shout  out  @ohchosen  here  either  because  i  was  very  close  to  leaving  tumblr   (and  also  probably  rp)   for  good  when  we  became  friends,   and  writing/plotting  tmkz  together  has  been  one  of  the  best  experiences  i’ve  ever  had  on  this  website,   where  friends  and  mutuals  tend  to  come  and  go.  you  never  did.  you’re  probs  the  funniest  person  i’ve  ever  spoken  to,   craft  the  most  beautifully  written  responses  imaginable,   you  put  a  world  of  effort  into  developing  your  muses  and  you  let  me  derail  every  single  one  of  conversations  to  talk  about  music  instead   gfjhdg   sorry  i’m  so  mean  to  you.  ily  a  lot.

Different anon but I would like to hear the friendship with Zhongli essay

ok so first of all, this is all own interpretation and stuff again! just my thoughts etc, mainly about childe crushing on zhongli, liyue story and all that

childes relationship with zhongli is different bc i like to think, while traveler is the first person ever he considers a friend, zhongli is the first person he actually developed feelings for in his life (feelings he never had and doesnt know how to deal with?)

(the sea that manages to erode the stone, the rocks that manage to calm down the wild currents of a river, childes entire personality, wild and violent and free like the sea, carrying darkness inside him as dark as the deepest parts of the ocean compared to zhongli, whos grounded and balanced and everlasting as the earth, shining bright like gold; childe who wandered through the deepest parts beneath the ground and zhongli who traveled through the heavens in his true form--- theyre contrasting but fit together quite well, you cant say thats not intentional. you could take it as some kind of rivalry between them, to make them such opposites, but stuff like the chopsticks zhongli gifted to childe,etc etc can tip this over from rivalry to attraction so easily. idk if i make sense)

just like childe didnt have the time or thought of having a friend in his life so far due to being a warrior at a young age already and being busy with his duties, he also never fell in love. admiration and love for his archon sure, since he admires her strength and for being a true warrior, but more on a family way since i like to think she considers her harbingers as her children. romantic feelings? nah, never. thats where zhongli steps into his life.

i think what childe finds attractive or admirable is a persons strength and their "warrior spirit", this is smth whats important to him anw. he considers the traveler a friend (i love the idea of childe treating traveler like a younger sibling) bc theyre strong enough to handle him, he admires the tsaritsa bc shes so strong, so, i can see him being attracted to someone who can beat his ass who is truly strong possible AJCBKJ

now, im sure even if zhongli calmed down and grew more balanced and patient and gentle over the centuries, you cant get the warrior out of his body and mind. the way he carries himself, moves, is aware of his surroundings, not to mention his build you can already guess hes fit, etc etc is already pretty telling - this man can fight (childe himself said in his voiceline about zhongli (before you finish liyue archon quest) that "theres far more to that man than meets the eye" and "as for the extent of his power... lots to look forward to, i think". childe is not stupid, he already knows zhongli is more than just a sweet polite funeral consultant; it takes a warrior to recognize a warrior huh, he already knows zhongli is capable of fighting) so i like to think that this is what childe got his eyes on (apart from the fact that zhongli is just. extremely beautiful and striking)

i also like to think that childe - even though it was his mission to steal his gnosis etc etc - is very fascinated by morax and hoping to fight him to see if he himself can keep up and to see not only a warrior gods but also an archons strength, all that (and then it turns out sweet zhongli is also powerful warrior morax and isnt that perfection for childe right there--)

i think he wouldnt be so upset about zhongli revealing his identity if he didnt care about him and that it was not only bc of the fact that zhongli kept it hidden from him (considering he was also playing a game and not just zhongli); he has feelings for someone only for that someone to turn out to not be the person he thought they were but someone else, i believe thats what upset him (apart from thinking he was just a pawn to zhongli)

the fact that childe didnt talk about zhongli in any way during his story quest and also labyrinth warriors is like, as if hes avoiding anything zhongli to clear his mind and later reflecting/understand his feelings--

if zhongli was of no importance to him, childe would not even consider reconciliation; zhongli would be just dead to him. hes actually giving a chance for them to reconcile despite the identity reveal - through battle, something childe is good at and something he knows morax as a warrior god is good at too, asking, offfering zhongli smth thats important to him (the battle with morax he didnt have like he had hoped) in exchange for reconciliation; as if to see if zhongli will take up on this, show him he cares for him too and not just used him as a pawn but simply did what he had to (which childe would understand, he also had to do smth he had to)

i did not finish the new archon quest yet but i already heard/saw that childe and zhongli are on a date are seen together somewhere, apparently? dunno if its actually in the quest or somewhere else, ANW this is the first time we see zhongli and childe together after the identity reveal (and im so happy) - childe is chilling on the railing and zhongli is stepping up to him; maybe its just me being me, overanalysing everything but its like zhongli is making the first step to, idk, everything

There! Not too different I suppose, mostly I was just grasping at straws lol. Every warrior cats character ever are all kind of just “I like them generally” to me, I don’t really have favorites. ‘Cept for the top row, and even then, I just mildly like them more.

Okay so! Explaining favorites below.

The red hearts mean I FOR SURE like them, and would 100% list them as favorites. The pink hearts mean I like a fanon/AU version of them more, but I still enjoy canon them generally. The yellow stars mean I would list them as my favorite leaders moreso than favorite characters, but I still like them as characters too. Also, Spotfur should be higher than Stemleaf- I’m not sure why the picker was so very eager to force him so high up for me XD I like him more as an extension of Spotfur and Bristlefrost’s stories than I do on his own. Turtlecrawl and Kitescratch are basically the same bully, but I do like Turtle a teensy bit more for no reason except that I hoped she’d redeem herself and be Root’s heteronormative love interest under the assumption that Bristlefrost was just a fleeting crush. And Snow the Sister!!! She straight up vanished from my selection, even tho I would have put her higher than Moonlight?? Maybe. Beetlewhisker should’ve also had a pink heart, as I have a hc ship of him and Redwillow for no reason lol. Similarly, Flipclaw and Feather are a duo for me, BUT, I do like Flipclaw more than Feather, since Flipclaw has more explored story and personality. Feather should be bottom row honestly. Whistlepaw too as she is also mostly only on there bcus I ship her and Frostpaw. Sunbeam also bottom row bcus i like her for the drama created around her only

thinking about the implications of firestar being soo full of himself about being prophecized and thats why a kittypet makes such a good warrior and thinking about how he and other cats might react to future kittypets-turned-warrior. some cats already called firestar a "special case" in canon. would other kittypets turned warriors feel incompetent in comparison, like theyd never be as good as firestar so maybe they DONT belong in the clans, or do they just look at him as an example of how not to behave if they wanna actually be liked??

In Firestar's mind it doesn't really matter what your origins are, you'll never be as good as him. When he receives the prophecy about kin of his kin having stars in his paws, I imagine he'd feel like...betrayed? by Starclan? Like alright now what's all this then. And I know this is like off topic of ur ask but I can't stop thinking about this

Firestar is still, the hero of the story, given his giant ego or not. So why is Starclan bringing in new heroes? He literally has these cats in the back of his mind, he can communicate with to Starclan, so why doesn't he have enough stars in his paws to...wait what are these for? Why is there a new prophecy? I guess this whole prophecy acts like a reality check for him? But only for a quick moment because turns out there's a fourth cat and it's....Firestar..woohoo...

Anyway back to the topic, I don't think that's necessarily the case for kittypets; considering he's blown the standard out of the water for a great warrior even for those clan born.

His kin on the other hand... and it's probably enforced by Firestar himself, are expected to be perfect or at least close to it as they can (because of course Firestar can't consider any cat to come even close to his level according to him, they can try though)

Now that can be a mix of things, they could feel pressured from it, to serve their clan perfectly and not make any mistakes, or they get special treatment for being excused from certain punishments sort of like he did.

So for all kittypets, the expectation is not pushed by their clan mates or Firestar, but if you're his kin and/or prophesized, their are certain expectations Firestar would assume it would be possible for other cats like him, to meet.

And like, Firestar isn't heartless, if he feels as if there's pressure being put on some cat (like Daisy or smth idk) for being in the clan, he'll clear things up. But um...it'll still be like super condescending

ok anon thank you so much for asking this question because i have in fact recently fallen in love with lithuania, because they are such an interesting character! (also hhhh im so sorry for how late this is) 

Gender

As you may have noticed, I usually use they/them pronouns to refer to Lithuania. I hc them as being nonbinary and using he/they pronouns, though I personally prefer to use they rather than he in that case because. Idk what pronouns you use. But in my experience it’s really hard to get people to call you ‘they’ when you go by ‘he/they’ or ‘she/they’ or smth like that. Though I don't imagine any of the nations are very attached to their “birth gender” (are nations born???), lithuania is one of those who is a bit less attached. They’re just sort of there, in terms of gender. In my headcanons i also think this has something to do with religion, as lithuania was one of the last european countries to convert to Christianity- just because so much of gender as we know it comes from christianity and what people in the 16th and 17th centuries considered a ‘good’ christian. Thats not to say that there are no gender roles in other religions, but that the way westerners typically conceptualize gender has quite a lot to do with the religious conflicts occurring within christianity. Like you can trace the ideas behind the nuclear family archetype back to the protestant reformation. Additionally, I hc them as being Jewish, which further distances them from the western christian gender roles (though that’s not why i hc them as jewish! More on that later). Finally, i just like myself some trans/nb characters. There’s so few popular trans hcs and that makes me kinda sad ya know? Welcome to the trans agenda its just me projecting onto all my faves

Mental Health

Okay, so, i think it’s pretty well known that lithuania’s mental health is wack. They’re often characterised as being a very anxious person, but i think the ways in which they’re anxious is super interesting. For one, they are extremely conflict averse and like to avoid it by being a sort of people pleaser. It’s a sort of defense mechanism, because nobody can hate you if you do whatever they say. Like, if you let people be shitty to you, they won’t hate you for your personality. This is clearly flawed logic because then people are still going to be shitty to you, but. It makes sense to liet. In their mind, it’s okay to let people hurt if your reason is sound enough- Because if they’re not super emotionally engaged in a relationship that’s unhealthy for them, then they can’t get hurt, right? Of course, they can. A good example of this is their relationship with Russia. I think tolvydas sees compliance as necessary there, in order to avoid being hurt. The thing is…compliance is also hurting them, even if they see it as ‘worth it.’ To them, behaving in a submissive way is a survival tactic. A really bad one, but a survival tactic nonetheless. 

This also plays into their tendency to be self-martyring. I think Tolvydas is very good at fighting, and all around a really awesome warrior (strong aragorn energy), which makes them think that they need to be the one to save everyone. Hero complex, sort of. This, coupled with their almost maternal care for Latvia and Estonia, makes them feel like they have a sort of weight-of-the-world on their shoulders. Though Estonia and Latvia do look up to them a lot, Tolvydas can sometimes fail to realise that they are also their own people and can fight their own battles. He feels a sort of obligation to protect them due to their shared culture and languages as The Baltic Trio, though it doesn’t go much further than a sense of obligation. They spent most of their youth fighting, to the extent that that’s most of what Tolvydas personally knows as ‘life,’ but they never actually got to know the other two Baltics very well until the modern day. They have to protect, have to be a caregiver, but they don’t actually know super well the things they’re trying to protect. It’s both a sense of obligation to protect as well as the sense that this is all they’re good at and as long as they’re fighting for a morally just cause, that’ll do. 

I think something that would expose this flaw would be when they were first taken over by the Russian Empire in the 1790s, they were pretty miserable about a lot of things- Like the loss of all their territory and the sudden statelessness of their people- but a big one would’ve been the loss of Poland. This isn’t meant to be super shippy, but you know. They were united into one kingdom, and they had been for centuries, so i don’t imagine it was an easy separation. Though this is more up for debate where real people are concerned, these characters were essentially a big part of each other, ya know? Regardless of how much Lithuania actually likes Poland, they’re still a part of each other and that separation will undoubtedly be painful. Anyway, all that is to say that this separation was at the forefront of their mind during the beginning of the 19th century, and they let it sort of prevent them from taking care of the other Baltics. The issue with that is that they still considered themself to be protecting Estonia and Latvia, even though, in reality, nobody was. Also in reality, Lithuania was making themself out to be the worst off, and were generally sort of annoying to be around at this point in time. Their whole woe-is-me attitude wasn’t fun, and they were hypocritical in that they saw themself as being a better friend than they actually were. They still see themself as being a great friend, and though it’s improved in recent years, they’re still sort of. Flighty, i guess, where friendship is concerned. There was also a lot of annoyance by the other baltics about them being so self-martyring- Tolvydas was Ivan’s favorite, after all (that’s not necessarily a good thing, but. He was softer on them in certain ways). Anyway, I guess the big takeaway of this paragraph is that Liet often lets their self perception cloud the way they act in relationships. 

Much of the stuff I’ve mentioned so far is a result of them having quite a lot of PTSD. I think Lithuania’s character tends to be explored through a few common lenses, those being the medieval vibes of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and through being oppressed by the Russian Empire/Soviet Union. Not to say that there’s not a lot of other content about them, but this is what I see most often. I think that all the nations have some form of PTSD, but with Lithuania it’s very pronounced, and it’s made clear that a lot of their tendencies are a result of past trauma- Like the need to take care of others. This is likely originating with their childhood, as they grew up in a very violent environment where their survival was never guaranteed (survivor’s guilt much?) and violence was just the way of things. This is where the need to protect comes from. There used to be several more Baltic nations, though you could argue that now there’s only two- Lithuania and Latvia, as Estonia does not speak a Baltic language and would really like to be considered Nordic. 

Finally, Lithuania is also an interesting character where forgiveness is concerned. I think their sense of morality is very black and white, so some people (Feliks) will be easily forgiven where others (Ivan) will not. In reality, I think it would definitely be valid for Tolvydas to hate both of them, yet they don't- Because they decided that Feliks was a friend and Ivan was not. Both Feliks and Ivan care very deeply about them, but neither treats Tolvydas in a very good way. Of course, I’m aware that the situation in the Russian Empire/USSR and the Commonwealth were very different, but I’m talking about these three dudes and their relationships with each other beyond the lens of politics. Because Feliks tried to be their friend in a way that didn’t hurt them tremendously, and because. Look at them, Feliks isn’t 5’4 and can’t hurt you. They’re not an intimidating person and they’re not incredibly powerful like Ivan is. Though that’s not all of it- Feliks’ feelings for Tolvydas are definitely a purer, more selfless type of love than what Ivan feels for them- it makes it harder for Tolvydas to hold a grudge against them. Whereas for Ivan, their relationship was about control. He needed to control them as a way of expressing how he felt about them. He represents a lot of what Tolvydas fought against in their youth, so of course they hate him. Of course, I don’t think they like holding grudges. They want to be able to care for everyone, because they know that everyone deserves to be treated well and cared for and all that. You can't exactly do that if you hold a grudge against someone, so it actually kind of sucks for them when they see someone they hate suffering. It’s a sort of conflict of interest- The caregiving instincts vs the hatred for this person- and they often don’t know what to do in that situation. Usually they wind up helping but not happy about it. They just don’t want to see others suffer, despite the fact that they dislike this person (Russia is of course the exception. They don’t want to help him at all anymore). 

Relationship with family

So, this is a bit of an interesting topic. I think the Baltics consider themselves family just because of what they’ve been through together, but they’re not actually blood related. Though they share similar cultures, and languages, they’re just not related. Maybe Lithuania and Latvia are cousins, but yeah. Lithuania sees themself as the head of their little family, as they have the oldest surviving European culture and language. They sometimes get in their head about that, and can act like both a mom friend and a mom who is bad at mom-ing. It’s a sort of self appointed thing, and can be really annoying to the other two. They don’t pay the utmost attention to their fellow Baltics, and are more concerned with physical well being than emotional well being, so, despite establishing themself as a caretaker, do not wind up actually caring for the other Baltics in the ways they need to be cared for. 

Fighting style

So, as I’ve mentioned, Lithuania is a talented fighter. They go hard as shit, and can very much kick your ass. I think they prefer to be very technical about how they fight, with something boring like a broadsword as their weapon of choice, but are not afraid to fight dirty. Like rip off an ear with their teeth kind of playing dirty. I think they take fighting very seriously. Though Lithuania as we know it is only about 800 years old, I think Tolvydas is much older. The definition of a nation (a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular country or territory, according to the oxford dictionary) does not require there to be a central governing body, so I think it’s quite possible for Lithuania to be well over 2000. Anyway, all that is to say that they didn’t grow up in medieval times, so by the time they’re like. Achieving dominance in Eastern Europe, they’re already very old and well versed in many different styles of fighting. In the modern day, I think they’ve learned more different fighting styles from other parts of the world, but will always fall back on the way they learned how to fight in ancient times. 

Religion

So as I mentioned earlier, Lithuania is Jewish in my headcanons (orthodox, specifically. I think they're kinda traditional). I have a couple reasons for this- There has been a historical presence of Ashkenazi Jews in Lithuania, going back to the 13th or 14th century, and this is due to certain legal protections granted to Jewish people under pre-Commonwealth law. They were legally on similar footing to the average free people of Lithuania, and were able to create a slightly more prosperous community than Jews in other areas of Europe. This was also affected by the Black Plague of the 1340s. Orthodox Jews tend to put a high value on cleanliness, and often have two sinks in their houses (my childhood home, for example, had two sinks, and i lived in a majority jewish area). They also happened to be concentrated in Eastern Europe, due to the protections. Because of this, Eastern European Jews have some of the highest sruvival rates for the Black Plague and actually brought up the survival rates of the region as a whole- Though this also resulted in some intense antisemitism, as many Christians blamed Jewish people for the plague even happening, due to their higher survival rates. Despite various expulsions  and the loss of legal rights, the Jewish population remained relatively steady up until world war 2. Jewish people made up about 10% of the total population of Lithuania in 1941, and 45% of the total population of Vilnius. (To put this in perspective, the entire world population is only about 0.2% Jewish). Anyway, all this is to say that it’s not out of the question for Lithuania to be Jewish. 

Extras/Fun stuff

Lithuania loves reading, especially the fantasy/fairy tale genre. It makes them nostalgic without the trauma of reading historical fiction. 

They’re also very musically gifted, and can play the piano, bass, ukelele, and flute.

I disagree obviously. Just because Brienne is not a demon doesn't mean she doesn't have flaws or she's a bad character lol. Like... why can't we have an angel in a world of monsters? What's wrong with that? Are these people jealous that Brienne is one of those pure character that their faves are not, so they feel like dismissing her as a bad character to make themselves feel good? I mean this has a long answer to give but this *meta* seems to me like it was written by someone who has no idea what they’re talking about when it comes to who grrm hates in his writing or his supposed misogyny because they have it all wrong and I think you pretty much guessed the point, but in order, let’s... tackle this one by one:

grrm doesn’t at all hate cat and sansa and their flaws are... flaws in the sense that he’s writing them like good people who aren’t 100% perfect but like.. sansa’s *flaws* from the beginning are stuff that’s common to most 12yo girls in existence and she overcomes them and she’s generally a good and kind and caring person whose main trait is that she’s good and kind and stays like that so how exactly now she’s written... like you’re supposed to hate her? bc she’s not. grrm never wanted you to hate sansa. he wrote her like a realistic 11-15yo but like most of us were like that at that age or have had friends who were like that, so... what the fuck. catelyn.... like guys the one heavy flaw she has is her treatment of jon but she’s written as a smart person who’s trying to live in a misogynistic society as best as she can and she’s written like a tragic character but grrm obviously likes her/loves writing her, it’s.... like if you read her chapters you can see how much work/love/craft went into them and how he worked on her bg very carefully also she is more of a protagonist than ned until asos when it comes to the stark side like.... how is giving her human flaws meaning he hates her?? grrm doesn’t hate her. the fact that she and brienne end up doing the knightly/lady sworn sword thing is even more of a proof he doesn’t but more on that later;

cersei... well I mean grrm obv doesn’t like cersei that much but a) he’s written a version of that character at least thrice already including the asoiaf one so I think he has an ex like that that he doesn’t particularly remember fondly or smth but like... she’s written to be a villain. she’s a villain. she’s a very well-crafted/thought out villain with a realistic background but diff. from cat and sansa she’s there to be the antagonist period, and just like... cersei and cat are aesthetically the same archetype and they couldn’t be more different so idk wtf are people smoking when saying that and if they can’t read cat chapters without fandom-hates-her glasses idk what to tell them;

brienne and arya have flaws are we serious, like arya has the flaws everyone has at that age (too impulsive/tends to judge people very fast/is too fixed on things/doesn’t listen to people etc) but like she’s fucking nine when it starts and she gets traumatized to hell and back, like arya’s sl to me is creepy af because no 12yo should be like that and it’s a very good trauma exploration but like....... she has faults but she’s not a bad person for obvious reasons as in SHE’S A KID same as sansa same as EVERYONE UNDERAGE IN THESE BOOKS except partially joffrey and even he has a background that explains how he is, like.... arya and sansa are supposed to be written in an equally sympathetic but specular way because they have opposite ways of reacting to trauma ie sansa holds on to her kindness arya gets progressively detached because she has to kill people to survive but you’re not supposed to hate either of them? honestly grrm wrote them with the exact same stakes, anyone who thinks it’s qualitatively different needs to go back and reread it with some intellectual honestly;

I mean we serious? the thing with brienne is that she’s a fundamentally good person who is written to become the ultimate example of a good knight™ and who is supposed to restore decency to the title after the institution has crumpled into the dirt, so... she’s... good, same as dunk is in the novels, but like: lmao she has a lot of faults, first thing that at the beginning she judges everyone on sight and sees everything in black and white, she has zero preservation instinct and nonexisting selfesteem because she thinks her life isn’t worth her vows and she thinks she’s not fit for anything she tries to do and would have died for a guy who danced with her once like sorry that’s not healthy, which are all things,... she’s... getting over.... because she has a character arc, but saying that brienne isn’t realistic or doesn’t have faults is ridiculous because she is;

now, this concept that grrm is misogynist is idiotic because a guy who has an insane number of female povs - some of which are the same trope ie brienne and arya - and have all a distinct different personality and voice and none of them are like too idealized or too evil and are to a level relatable means he’s everything but because a misogynyst wouldn’t be able to pull that off. like, in any other book brienne and arya would have been the same character, in his they’re not, so maybe like... give him some credit in the sense that the moment half of your povs are well-written realistic female characters and the ones without povs are equally well-written/manage to be fan faves (ie marg and olenna) maybe he’s just... not... a misogynist nor hates women so that’s out of the way;

re cat and brienne: like... saying ‘ah he hates catelyn’ when catelyn is literally the first *lady* who treats brienne like a friend/peer/person she cares about is completely fucking idiotic because guess what if you’re like brienne usually most Attractive Girls™ the way cat is are not your best friends in life (I mean c. calls her a cow and they didn’t even meet on paper lmao and it’s obvious from b’s povs that she has bad experiences with other women in general), so the fact that cat actually sees her worth, accepts her as her sworn sword doing a thing that’s usually just between men, trusts her with her daughters’ lives, thinks she’s a better knight than jaime could be and treats her as it befits her station (in riverrun she had dresses made for her but brienne wouldn’t wear them) and is actually good to one of the few good people in these books who gets treated like dirt by most others should tell you exactly what grrm thinks of catelyn, ie nothing too bad, and that she’s a good person who fucked up on one thing that the narrative knows and doesn’t excuse, but like.... lmao that entire argument falls flat just for that;

other than that no guy who can write the range of women grrm does can be a misogynist by definition, especially a guy who managed to get perfectly how it feels being a straight nonstandard attractive woman in society in general because my friends if before I stumbled into asoiaf I never related 100% to one fictional character ever there was a reason, and I read a lot, so people can bite me on that thing;

congrats to OP they went THAT close to it: that’s the entire fucking point. being like brienne in her society (and not performing femininity™ correctly in ours) means that whatever you do people will criticize you and treat you like dirt even if you don’t mean them any harm. the world is absolutely against her because all the circumstances are stacked against her - she’s a woman, doing a man’s job, looking nonattractive and therefore other women treat her like dirt and men don’t consider her or see her as a threat and hate her for it because she’s better at their job than they are, wanting to be a knight which is a thing that’s technically forbidden bc women can’t be anointed as far as the westerosi law says, who’s doing that because she knows she’s good at it but every single person in her way doesn’t want her to succeed except for a handful, can’t use femininity to navigate the world and she has to survive as a woman in a men’s world in an extremely misogynistic medieval society and there’s a reason why no one but three people takes her seriously, ie that if you don’t count a few people in f&b that are history book material in her context/timeframe she’s an unicum and people tend to dislike it when you’re an unicum/sticking out/wanting to go against the system. the system is absolutely stacked against her, when everything she wants is do good to others and making her father proud and be a knight and find love, and even if it’s not that much to ask for her it’s, on paper, impossible.... and the entire point is that as impossible as it looks she’s definitely going to get it because she’s written exactly for that, and if people haven’t grasped that it’s her arc - overcoming a misogynistic society and living beyond gender roles regardless of your looks which in itself is groundbreakingly feminist - sorry for them but they’ll have a bad wake up call when grrm gets wow/ados out.

and that’s my two cents, but like: there’s nothing wrong in liking characters With Faults or evil ones and you can find Good Ones boring, just don’t try to make it pass like the author is a misogynist because the Good Character is a nonstandard attractive gnc woman because that’s actually a thing no one else ever did.

A random headcanon: always encouraged good relationships w the other clans bc the fight against windclan that killed her mom turned her off to using violence as a first resort, which ended up making her a stronger leader and a good example to firestar, mostly. except for like, keeping brokentail instead of just killing him. that was stupid

Title: "Finite 2"

Description: Both the second attempt at this story and the attempted sequel to a one shot called "Finite" that got quite popular in Fanfiction.net. Finite was written just after watching Infinity War, it's about Tony and the gang defeating Thanos and bringing everyone back. This "sequel" is about Thor bringing back Loki. I stopped because I lost interest.

How I would continue: lots of Norse mythology stuff, Loki would have been revived by a golden apple or smth and then they'll fly off into the universe together. Idk.

Thor had seen enough. Since the beginning of this whole battle he had seen people dear to him die. He had seen the grievances of his friends. He couldn't take it. He had always known he was somewhat the comedic relief of the group, but this time telling a joke or running into a glass wall wouldn't help anyone.

He was a god for crying out loud! His people had created the realms and they rule over all of them. The Aesir we're strong, hard headed people that would never give up without a fight. Thor decided the moment Thanos snapped his fingers that he would not just stand there and let half the universe die in vein.

That was why, after the dust settled in Wakanda, no one could find Thor. Most suspected he too was marked for death, but he was really out there, traveling, not waisting a second because he didn't have time to mourn. He didn't when he woke up on the Rabbit's ship, he didn't now.

He was determined to go out and stop Thanos. And this time, he will aim for the head.

But he needed help. As he traveled through the branches of Yggdrasil, his new weapon weilded out in front of him, he could only think of the many warriors he has fought and won with.

Jane was the first woman he had ever loved. She was the one who introduced him to Midgard, the one who showed him how beautiful it really was. Selvig gave him a chance to have a true, close friend. Darcy Lewis was a very funny girl who helped out the best she could. There were the warriors three, the roughest band of gods (and goddess) he had ever had the pleasure to know.

And however reluctant he was, there was also Loki.

His brother. The man Thor had never thought less of just because of his heritage. If the worlds were different, Loki would have made a fine king. He would have been made the most fair ruler.

Thor didn't think he could do it without him. He had felt himself feel completely out of whack ever since Thanos had attacked the Aesir's ship. Something had been missing, pulling him back, making him second guess himself. Thor never second guessed himself!

The more he thought about it, the more he realized that he needed his brother. He needed the eyeroll and the glaring and pranks he pulled while disguised as an animal. He needed the subtle support, the proud eyes, the rare sadness that shown on his face whenever either of them mentioned their childhood.

So Thor wasn't going to do this alone. Loki may not be from Asgard but he was sure as the moon and the stars that Look was a true Aesir.

True Aesir's don't die like Loki had. Thor was going to bring him back if it was the last thing he did. And he believed he had just the way.

I really like the art you did of them! I have never considered Glorfindel/Maglor before, could you please tell me your thoughts on them as a ship?

I’m very happy that people ask me more about them bc I thought that it’s mb very vierd and didn’t show my arts with them before.First of all they are my Cat and Flower OTP :DDOk, I‘ve always liked the idea of Maglorwandering and striding around Middleearth for Eru knows how many years andfinally arriving to Elrond’s lands where nobody lets him wander further. It seems to me that happened not so far from the Hobbit events. Just imagine:Maglor casually walks through the woods and gets caught by the border guard  troops, he tries to run away that doesn’twork out, than he knocked down everybody around, but luckily or unluckily Glorfindelwas there. They had a great deal of a mighty fight, yet Glorfindel mighty won, partiallythanks to good sleep and diet, he is also high and ancient as fuck (andaccording to some theories he is equal to maia in power). Glorfindel is quitesmart so he notices that the vagrant he had caught looks bad and em.. dusty, his  armor, though has some noble and oldpatterns, the sword is also good, so It’s better to take him to Elrond.

·        Elrond sure recognizes him andexperiences lot of contradictory and mixed feelings, yet Maglor is his mummy inlaw and  ofc it’s an intimate reunion allDisney films should have.  Glorfindel, afterrealizing these two have known each other long before, all the feels and stufflike that… just gets extremely happy for them with a light heart. Maglor nowgets that Glorfindel was only doing his job, nothing personal, yet he hissesand glances grumpily for a week or two, bc, you know, «Who dared  to defeat Son of Feanor , how dared he put adagger to his throat blablabla». Firstly, Maglor avoids every type of contactor conversation with other elves, gloomily walks around the huge libraries,around the gardens and  has long-longmeaningful talks with Elrond. Yet Elrond is still a king  and the times are getting darker, so Maglorhas long time for himself too. Here,  inRivendell halls they have evening songs and they tell tales of old times whenthe night comes in, all gathering near huge fireplace.  Maglor, being  a goth child of his time, ofc doesn’t go therefirst couple of times. Then he eventually comes, finds a dark corner, sits andlistens. AAAAAAAAAAnd gets very surprised by not hearing any hatred or accusationstowards the Feanorians.  Maglor long time haven’t sang   butone time he sits in a garden under a beautiful blooming tree and sings quietly.  Glorfindel having returned from surveying the borders, hears   thesong by lucky chance and he likes it sooooo much. Maglor notices him yet continuoussinging.  From this moment a specialbound forms between them.Some time later  they’ll spend more timetogether bc Maglor feels much better,  hegot used to being here, Glorfindel and him are like dinosaurs among the youngones in this realm and so on. Together they babysitting Elrond’s children, Maglor is an exceptional warriorwhich is convenient in battles and patrols, plus Glorfindel has a soft spot forhot musicians, and …well… Maglor sings way better than  Ecthelion. They spend hours talking, Glorfindel talks Gondolin, his previous live,Ecthelion, and many personal things. In this hc Maglor had been so closely attached to his family ( esp Maitimo)-hesimply didn’t have the time and energy for someone else. I mean, he did marryand had a wife (I guess he did, or not, idk, but I’d prefer to think he wasn’tmarried, definitely not in this hc), yet she was once seen and gone in the verybeginning of their Middlearth journey. Sad as it is, but only losing everyonehe cared about, Kano slowly starts to take care and listen to himself, tryingto focus on his own happiness and priorities. That’s why Glorfindel  is his first soulmate (who’s not a closerelative and not your child). One warm telling-tales Rivendell evening Kano, inspired by all he had heardabout Gondolin, sings a long, sad and magnificent song about the Elven City inthe valley of Tumladen and his voice echoes like a loud bell. Glorfindel staresat him across the hall, it’s hard to guess his emotions, the music and voicesgo silent. Overwhelmed by magic and grief of the song, all the feelings andmemories it evoked, Glorfindel comes up to Maglor and kisses him. Everyone in the hall is…genuinely shocked and impressed. Elrond is the first tocollect himself, so he quickly draws the attention from these two. Before this kiss they sure had tons of cute moments, but they didn’t attach anysignificance to it. So this evening had a huge influence on Maglor, such a strong influence heactually fell in love so hard he couldn’t breathe. After couple of days whenthey were walking around the gardens he mb could have said smth like “ It wasmy first kiss you know..” and Glorfindel would freeze plain shocked bc Kano isold as a moon, smoking hot and is simply a cinnamon bun straight outta Aman sohow can that possibly be his first kiss??? While Glorfindel looks at Kano andthinking stuff over, Maglor returns the kiss.. That’s basically it. They just live the fullest and love and feel loved fromthis time on.

Is there a book that you think needs a bigger fandom??

Honestly I. Don’t really like fandoms so I am… kinda glad the books I really enjoy don’t have fandoms because it means there’s no one around to ruin the books for me XD 

So I guess… no not really. But if I had to choose a book, then the Unwind Dystology then. 

Can you ever stop in the middle of a page or do you have to finish the page or chapter first??

Honestly, I can do both. It matters on how tired I am. Usually I try and finish the page/chapter

tho funny thing- last week I took a particularly strong sleeping pill then attempted to read before it kicked in…

When I went to go pick that book up again, I had to go and reread the last 7 or so pages bc I did not remember ANYTHING that happened in them

KJSDKSJDKSDHSJHDS A BOOK DON’T YOU MEAN P MUCH EVERY HYPED UP PIECE OF TRASH 

okay okay… let’s see….. Insurgent was fucking awful, and so was The Fault in our Stars (which I’ve already mentioned before so eh). The Blood of Olympus was soooo disappointing I’m still bitter on how it ended. I mean the entire series had it’s issues but at that point I couldn’t handle it. 

THE ENTIRE WARRIORS SERIES OMEN OF THE STARS OH MY GOD what even was that?! 

THAT BEING SAID nothing pissed me off more than Mockingjay. Oh no. Nothing beats Mockingjay. 

My middle school was a SLUT for the hunger games everyone was reading it. It was the most popular series. So when Mockingjay came out and our library got one copy, everyone was fighting to get on the list to check it out. 

I waited weeks for this stupid book. Weeks. I could not wait to read it. I was dying to find out what happened next.

Then. I get the book. I clearly remember getting the little note to pick it up while sitting in my fucking Texas History class (which, by the way, is literally the worst subject. All you guys who don’t live in Texas and aren’t forced to take Texas History should be grateful). 

Anyways, unlike the other two Hunger Games books, it took me forever to read Mockingjay because it was just so AWFUL.

And I mean. I was in like seventh grade or smth. I was a fan of the TWILIGHT books at this point in my life. I liked Catching Fire. My taste in books was bad and even then, I found Mockingjay to be a terrible bore. 

I was. So angry when I finished it. And I swore I would never read Hunger Games ever again and nor would I read anything by the same author. 

And guess what? I haven’t. I’m still mad. 

What do you do to mark your pages??

I used to dog-ear them tbh but now I use whatever I can find as a bookmark. Which sometimes is a real bookmark, other times its just random pieces of paper. Idk just anything I can find I guess. 

Favourite genre??

I am. Not so sure? I know the genres I dislike but honestly I can like books from almost every genre as long as said books are good. 

I guess paranormal. Second would be fantasy, as a lot of fantasy books are. Boring. and shit. 

At least high fantasy is. High fantasy is awful pretentious garbage and I’ve only ever been able to get through Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. And for the former, I watched the movies first and loved them, which was why I was determined to get through the book.

Also because my mom loves the series. 

But I haven’t picked it up since I was 13 and I don’t plan on it.

I hate classics. They’re fucking AWFUL stories. 

I literally do not give a shit what sorta message a book has. I don’t read books for them to preach at me. I read them for the story and characters and classics have really awful both of those 9 times out of 10.

Like. Gonna be real honest most the classics I read in school I… didn’t technically read…. 

I got 9 pages into Fahrenheit 451 and stopped and never picked it up again. I hate The Crucible with all my heart and I honestly zoned out when we had to listen to it. 

Shakespeare is garbage too. Yeah he did a lot for writing and making up words and shit. But I don’t give a fuck. I dare someone look into my eyes and tell me Othello was good in any manner whatsoever. 

So… I am really trying to think while writing out how much I hate classics… I really am. 

OKAY I liked Lord of the Flies decently enough but I would never go to reread it. It was… okay. Considering in that class, the last assigned book to us was Fahrenheit 451, literally giving us anything would be better. 

OKAY I dunno if this counts as a classic, but I did enjoy reading Pygmalion. I was also like… the only person in my class who loved how it ended. Like god fuck you go girl. 

I remember we had to write an extended ending for Pygmalion and I loved how it ended so much that I wasn’t so sure how to write it. Well, I ended up building off of how it ended and my teacher thought what I wrote was interesting and I admitted to him that I liked the original ending so wasn’t so sure what to write. I also got an 100/100 on that project lmao.

Fanfiction was my homework that night. Beautiful. 

And uh not related to the question but related to the thing on classics- I’ve always wanted to read Dante’s Inferno and am still disappointed I never got to. I might get a copy online and try and read it sometime tho.
