Rescue Mission Episode 1 - DNF Fanfiction

I got the idea for this a few nights ago! Please remember that these are just my own personal ideas and headcannons, and are not actually cannon. I hope you enjoy!

This takes place right before the prison arc, during the very last part of the disc war arc!

Ghostburr floated over to Philza, and peered over his shoulder. “Whatcha doin?” Phil shooed him away, and kept fixing the large hole in the side of his house “i’m busy man” Ghostburr floated around the hole and examined it. “What happened Philza?” Phil was starting to get a little annoyed with Ghostburr, first a creeper had blown up his wall, and now Ghostburr won’t let him fix it. “a creeper blew it up.” Phil said, but Ghostburr continued, not picking up on Phil’s annoyance. “That’s nice, d’you know what i just saw?” Philza started to say something, but Ghostburr kept talking “I saw Tommy and Tubbo, and they said they were going to fight Dream! And so I said, ‘that’s nice! have fun!’ and I came to see if you wanted to go visit Dream with us!” Ghostburr smiled at Phil, as if visiting Dream was a field trip like going to the aquarium. “Tommy and Tubbo are doing WHAT?!?!?” Phil turned around to stare at Ghostburr, a panicked expression on his face.

I can’t lose another son. and there’s no Tommy without Tubbo.

Phil dropped his stack of oak planks, ran to Sapnap’s house, and banged on the door, a confused Ghostburr following close behind. “Sapnap. Sapnap. SAPNAP! SAPNAP!” A groggy and bewildered Sapnap emerged from behind a dark oak door. “What do want bitch? I was napping.” Ghostburr floats through Phil, before he could answer “We’re going to visit Dream! Wanna come?” Philza rolls his eyes and shoos Ghostburr again. “Stop it Will, we’re not going on a field trip! Tommy and Tubbo are going to fight Dream, and are probably in serious danger!” Phil paused and gave Ghostburr a meaningful look. “Please help us Sapnap, we need to go help Tommy and Tubbo. You know how impulsive Tommy is, and I can’t lose another son.” Sanpnap sighed and ran his hand through his bedhead “How the hell am I supposed to say no to that Phil? Hang on, lemme grab armor.” Sapnap went inside and came back with netherite armor and sword in hand. “alright so, we’ll split up. You go get Ranboo, Awesamdude, CaptainPuffy, Eret, Quackity, and Niki, and I’ll get everyone else. Meet me and the others at the nether portal when you’ve got them.” Phil nodded to Sapnap and thanked him for helping, then ran to go get help, Ghostburr following behind.

Phil and Ghostburr had recruited everyone on their list except one, and the last person they had to go get was Ranboo. Philza and Ghostburr found Ranboo’s house empty, and found him farming carrots in the yard. “Hey guys what’s happening?” he says, smiling and holding a carrot, the opposite of Phil’s grave expression. “Ranboo, Tommy and Tubbo went to go visit Dream alone, and they’ve gone far enough away from us that they could be in serious danger.” Ranboo drops his carrot in shock. He’s used to Tommy and Tubbo dicking around and getting themselves in danger. But Dream is only getting more and more dangerous, and  Tommy and Tubbo both have only one life left. 

Ranboo can feel the panic clouding the edge of his brain. There are a lot of holes in what he knows, and what he doesn’t know, what he remembers and what he doesn’t remember. But he knows for sure that Tommy and Tubbo are his friends, and Ranboo can’t lose his new-found family. “I’m on your side Phil, where are we going?” he says. “C’mon, we’re meeting the others at the community portal, then we’ll all take the nether to where Dream is holding Tommy and Tubbo.” Phil and Ranboo start running in the direction of the portal, and Ghostburr floats alongside them. “Can I have a carrot Ranboo?” he asks Ranboo, and Phil responds for him “Not the time will!” and laughs.

Sapnap and the others are waiting at the portal, and he sees Phil, Ranboo, and Ghostburr climbing the horizon. “Ready your weapons people!” he shouts. “Did you get everyone?” Philza asks Sapnap when he gets there. Sapnap nods, and is about to enter the portal when Ghostburr chimes in. “No, he didn’t get everyone! Where’s George?” Sapnap curses and mentally slaps himself “FUCK! I forgot to get George! I’ll be RIGHT back, everyone wait here.” Sapnap takes off in the direction of George’s house, running as fast as he can. 

Sapnap bangs on the door, opens it, and sits on George’s bed next to him. He puts his hand on George’s arm and looks him in the eyes before saying “Tommy and Tubbo are in danger, they’ve gone to fight Dream.” George pauses and nods, and then slowly says “yeah. Dream left me a note.” and he gestures to the dropped book and quill resting on the bed next to his. Sapnap tries to get George to look him in the eyes, but George refuses, lost in memories of past love notes left to him by Dream. “Are you coming?” Sapnap asks him, and George just shakes his head and stares out the window. Sapnap sighs and stands up, getting ready to return to the party of people waiting for him at the portal. He thinks to himself;

how could George be this selfish? I love Dream too, but killing children isn’t something I can stand behind.

Sapnap is about to open the door, when George catches his elbow and stops him. “Sap.” George says, his voice pained and filled with emotion. “Please don’t let them hurt Dream.” He begs his best friend, who nods and says “I’ll try my best.” then Sapnap yanks his elbow away and leaves, shutting the door on George, who is now completely alone.

But could you blame George for being alone? He couldn’t bring himself to face against the man he loved, even though he knew two innocent kids might get hurt in the process.
