i think a really great aspect of oofuri is how much it gets mihashi's ass for being overly timid and dependent. it would be really easy to write off the way he and abe interact as being abe's fault because he is overbearing, and a lot of people do, but it has some really great moments of going "hey, you cannot hide behind abe or depend on him to make every decision. it's not good for you, or him, or the team."

Like, completely disregarding that it is actively ignoring the text even in StB there (and that he consistently wants the WoL especially to live), he, uh, is written as having a desire for more the opposite to happen. Very, very consistently. His drive to live is solely linked to brief moments of pleasure-from-struggle and when that drops he explicitly wants to die so he can preserve the moment (and like. *looks at the end of 6.0* if he wanted to kill the WoL he would not be disappointed when they fall before the game allows it, nor would they have lived after given his will was strong enough to bring them back if they bite it). He wants struggle and lacks the ability to give enough of a shit to hold back if someone walks up and says they're going to go for his head.

Like, death is a side effect of what he's after, it's not the goal and he explicitly considers it a waste of life. Even fighting isn't the goal, the goal is to struggle, to need to put effort in. The WoL is just the only person to put him in that state as he currently is, hence his obsession.

i'll try to say this in the kindest way possible but what if we don't post bucktommy critical or bucktommy negative posts that people originally censored/kept out of the bucktommy tag by screenshotting them and putting them in the tag? people are allowed to hate a ship. idk what to tell you but they're allowed to have their opinions even if their reasoning seems stupid to you or it very obviously comes with bad faith arguments. as long as they're being decent enough to not cross the line and do keep it in their own tags/blogs, you don't have to be fighting them in our tags. if you so want to, sure do it on your blog, in your dms, in your discord servers. but i'm tired of seeing the blogs i know i have blocked for their silly takes because we keep circulating what they're posting in our own tags. seeing a collage of the stupid, negative, downright homophobic comments curated from all sorts platforms in the bucktommy tag, in fact, feels no different in practice than seeing the antis post in the bucktommy tag, especially when you don't add the useful tags like "discourse" or "fandom criticism" to your posts.

I really do find it incredibly irritating how TOH plays all sides of the shipping board just because they don't want to upset shippers.

It's why you get Evelyn looking more like Luz than Willow - it's also why her face is never shown. Even if Dana didn't want to get into the Caleb/Evelyn and Philip murder drama, there isn't any reason for her face to be obscured UNLESS the goal wasnt to upset shippers

It's why you get Luz's type of of boy being angsty warrior princes like Hunter - it's also why all of Hunter's important moments involve Luz and not Willow.

This is why you get Hunter dying and coming back to life looking like Caleb pleading with Luz to help him fight Belos in TTT, but then his entire arc culminates with him holding pinkies with Willow FTF. This is why all the interesting themes Hunter brought to the table were completely kneecapped by his relationship with Willow.

Ik like half the fandom loves kandriel but it actually makes me so irrationally mad that it’s as popular as it is.

I’m a firm believer of not changing or altering a character’s sexuality in the text if it is an important aspect of their character. Neil’s asexually is an important element of his character and seeing him shipped with anyone but his canon partner will always make me a bit uncomfortable(but I would never make my opinions dictate what others do I may have a problem with it but I’ll never make my problem other people’s problem)

But it’s not just that… it’s the fact that Andrew and Neil are each other’s person and it feels like a disservice to Kevin to just shoehorn him into that… for reasons unknown to me.

I love the platonic relationship between the three don’t get me wrong I’ll just never be able to see the three of them together in any form of a romantic sense.

This is sort of salty but one of my tumblr/social media pet peeves is when people assume the cause of a lack of engagement is anything and everything other than "people are not picking up what you're putting down." Like, yeah, there are people who like and don't reblog your fic or your long post, but sometimes it's because people liked your post to save it for later, read it and said "hmmmm I don't care for this" and then never cleared out their likes. I'm a big proponent of reblogging your own work that you're proud of but sometimes you have to admit that people are seeing it and saying "hard pass". And to be clear, I cannot judge with any objectivity if you are a misunderstood genius or a massive idiot, though I'll certainly have my own thoughts on it, but usually a post not getting notes isn't a conspiracy against you or other people's fear of being uncool or them not knowing how to use the website; sometimes people just didn't like what you said or even were merely totally apathetic to it. At the very least if you're incapable of humility and self reflection you should just assume you are a misunderstood genius and move on instead of sulking. If you are, in some cosmic truth, a massive idiot, this won't improve that situation, but you'll probably feel better and won't alienate people further by being both an idiot AND a sulker.
