half the time i pick up nature writing it turns out what i'm really picking up is someone trying really hard to deal with a divorce death or dementia through looking really intensely at a slug.

kinda embarrassing to be put in my little cousin’s old toddler bed whenever i poodle-sit

i love snow and winter and sledding and building forts and i’m getting better at skiing and i love the sparkle of snow and how it dampens sounds and the smell of it and the coolness of the air and long dark nights full of stars and ice swimming

and it feels so funny to say i love winter because i hated it for so long but what i hated was having old boots that didn’t fit and had holes and were stuffed with paper towels and not having lotion so my hands grew cracked and bled and not having heat so i was freezing doing school lessons and not being able to wash our clothes more than once a month so they got sticky and sweaty

and all of those things are because we didn’t have money for new clothes or boots or hand lotion or heating up the house or doing laundry often and i’m not financially stable now but i’m not that dirt poor. anyway i think we should give everyone enough to not suffer

I don’t care if it snowed in your neighborhood and you got to go on a quiet nighttime walk looking up into the purple-grey sky marveling at the snowflakes coming down with the streetlights glowing warm all around you that should have happened to ME instead
