when i used to regress it was due to me being in bad moods or just feeling comfortable around a person enough to be able to let go for a bit, so for a scenario it could be just hanging out with the person if its more of a story type thing, if its more headcanons (which i dont mind!) you can come up with the scenario!! id love to see what you come up with :D

Where Yuu age regresses

Before starting the headcanons, I wanted to briefly clarify what regression is, since it was something I didn't know about and it was important for me to clarify it <3

Yuu is experiencing regression, their mind temporarily shifts into a much younger state, around toddler to early grade school age. This can happen when they're overwhelmed, anxious, or in a bad mood, as a way to cope and self-soothe, or when they feel very safe and cared for, letting themselves relax and “be little.” It’s not pretend or fake. it’s a real shift in mental state where Yuu feels emotionally like a small child, even if they still know deep down they’re older. It’s not harmful, wrong, or weird. It's just a coping mechanism that helps Yuu feel safe and regulated, especially with people they trust.

Kalim’s the person who wouldn’t just accept your regression, he’d embrace it.

When it first happens, he’s a little confused at first ("Wait, Yuu, are you okay? You’re talking kinda different..."), but when he realizes you’re not distressed, just in a more vulnerable, little mindset, he relaxes completely.

“Do you want me to talk softer? Want me to get you a snack or something fun to do?”

He's instantly instantly pulling out coloring books, building pillow forts, and offering you sparkly fruit juice.

He might hum songs from his childhood, or let you wear one of his scarves as a “magic cape.”

Very physically affectionate in a way that’s comforting, like patting your head, gently rubbing your back, or holding your hand while walking you around Scarabia.

“You can just be however you feel today, okay? I’ll take care of the hard stuff for now!”

Ruggie picks up on changes in mood instantly, he grew up looking after younger kids in the slums.

The moment you start slipping into a more childlike state, he switches gears, his voice softens, his pace slows down.

He doesn’t make a big deal out of it. Just rolls with it like it’s completely normal.

“Aw, you’re havin’ one of those days, huh? That’s alright. I gotcha.”

He might distract you with snacks or games ("Wanna help me count how many donut are in the bag? You gotta be real careful though!")

He’ll handle adult stuff, but still treat you like a capable little helper.

If anyone tries to mock you for regressing, they’re getting ruggied, passive-aggressively chewed out and possibly pickpocketed hehe.

“You’re safe with me, short stuff. I’ve wrangled entire packs of toddlers—this? Easy.”

Ortho scans and registers your emotional state realizing you're regressing as a self-soothing mechanism.

“Yuu, your speech patterns and posture suggest a regression to childhood comfort behaviors. That’s okay! I’m here to help!”

His voice softens, hair lights with a gentler hue, and he starts suggesting activities like puzzles, music, or games.

He customizes content for you, kid-friendly shows on a holographic screen, bedtime stories, or digital coloring apps with sparkly.

Also has a built-in comfort mode, calming background sounds, auto-hug function (if you want), and biometric readings to help you stay regulated.

Will firmly protect your boundaries,even from Idia ("You’re not allowed to tease Yuu right now. They’re in a delicate state. Kindly go sulk elsewhere.")

“I’ll stay right here, okay? You don’t have to be grown-up around me. I’ll take care of everything until you’re ready.”

Grim acts like he’s annoyed… but he becomes your fiercest guardian when you regress.

“Ugh, what’s wrong with you today—wait, are you cryin’? Hey! No crying! Come here, I’m the Great Grim! I gotcha.”

Pulls you into a cuddle complaining the whole time.

Will distract you by telling about how awesome he is, showing you shiny things he found, or dragging you around campus like your buddy.

Gets very serious if you’re upset while regressed. He’ll curl in your lap while he guards you from the world <3

If someone tries to laugh at you for how you're acting, he’ll unleash the full fury in a fireball of a cat with main character syndrome.

“Nobody messes with my human, got it? They need a nap and snacks, not your attitude!"

You expected judgment. Instead, you got the gentlest father figure imaginable.

He notices the shift in behavior, speech, and emotional tone. You think you’ll be told off, but he closes his book slowly and says:

“Ah. You need to rest your adult mind for a while. That is perfectly reasonable.”

He allows you to sit in his office with Lucius curled in your lap. He may offer picture books or even read to you in a calm voice.

a/n: i mean the readers been alt in my book buttt i said it here cause it's more description on it (she has a lip ring) cw: kissing, drug talk, hinting at death also i wrote this ff in like 3 hours so srry if its a bit chopped lol

you’re a bit nervous as you walk into the apartment complex, swirling your silver lip ring around with your tounge. the reason you feel this way is because you would’ve died a few days ago if it wasn’t for a certain brunette terrfied out of her mind about a pile-up happening. now of course you didn’t believe her in the start, but minute you heard the giant crash of explosions ringing in your ears, you couldn’t do anything but be shocked. 

when you gathered with her and the rest of the people she had rescued from that explosion and discussed that we should all stick together, you were the first one to agree. while others were skeptical, you didnt care. which was why you already at the complex five minutes earlier than the meeting was supposed to start. but those five minutes went by pretty fast so you speed walked to elevator. 

as you walk you turn your head and make eye contact with someone familiar. oh yes. the cute curly head guy from the interrogation room. you guess he was smart enough to come and was shaken up by the situation, but apparently not smart enough as he doesn’t see you until you’re entering the elevator, running towards it as the doors close. you watch him as he makes it in but his shoe gets stuck, you giggle has he tries to get it out. 

“hey! let go of my shoe!” rory says loudly as he tries to pull his shoe out of the two elevator doors. as he finally pulls it out and the doors shut, he falls back against the wall and acknowledges you. 

“oh, heeeyy, you. you’re cool girl from yesterday.” rory says to you as the scenic elevator music starts playing gently into the background of your ears. 

“cool girl from yesterday?” you say inquisitively.  

“well yeah. cause… i never got your name so i kinda just wrote you off as cool girl with piercings in my head… is that weird?” 

you bursted out laughing. he’s a funny guy without even trying. you like that a lot. 

“no, no, not at all. because i had you as cute curly-head guy in mine.” 

“oh, well, no my name’s rory. you?” you tell him your name as he asks but your mind goes to something else. 

why are we still on this elevator? an elevator ride shouldn’t be this long. 

you still wondering it and when you start to look around, rory questions you. 

“you okay?” he asks.

“yeah. but why are we in this elevator still? as a matter of fact, it doesn’t even seem like it's moving..” 

‘that’s because its not.’ you and rory both jump at the mystery voice. when it talks again you can see where it’s coming from. the speaker at the top of the elevator above the buttons. 

‘the elevator is broken- something with the electrical wiring. the fire department will be coming to rescue you two in an hour. stay put until then… well you know what i mean’ 

well this is great. first you narrowly avoid a deadly car collision, now you’re stuck hanging in an elevator. you just wanna go home and get high. as you feel your emotions start to overwhelm you, you just sit down and slump over, since you can’t do anything but wait in here with rory. 

“did your piercings hurt?” he says as he sits down next to you. he seems oddly calm about the whole ordeal, but you don’t question it. 

normally you’d be annoyed from that question, but rory asked in a genuine, clueless way that you couldn't help but to find it endearing.

“yes. of course they did. but pain is temporary. swag is forever.” 

“hey, i hear that. look at this. i stick and poked it myself.” he pushes back his sleeve and shows you the tattoo he’s talking about. its honestly pretty badass. you trace your fingers gently against his wrist without thinking. he doesn’t say anything about it though.  

but what you don’t see as your staring at his tattoo is him staring at your cute lips. so it very much shocks you when he kisses you abruptly.

you kiss him back almost immediately. your mouths mold together so perfectly like you two were made for each other. his breath hot and murky against yours and all you can think about is him as you run your fingers through his curly hair. you’re shocked at how soft it is. 

rory groans into your mouth as he feels how soft and plush your lips are. as he grabs the side of you face and kisses you deeper, feeling the cold silver of his thumb ring alongside your face, he can feel the warm silver wrapped around the edge of your slicked lip. he moans into your mouth as he thinks about how it'd feel on his cock. but he pulls back quickly just to say something silly like-

"sorry i kissed you so randomly like that, i just had to see how it feels to kiss a girl who's super badass." you just giggle lightly and pull him back onto you.

you two make out for about another five minutes, so intertwined with each others feverish kisses. you both get shocked and jump away from each other when you here the intercom voice again.

‘hey, lovebirds- the fire departments here. so you might want to get yourselves decent before they get up there.' 

even when he broke up you and rory’s amazing make out session, you're sighing in relief when you hear him say that though.

you both are finally ready to get off this prolonged, annoying ride when the lights of the elevator start flickering and the you feel the ground rumbling beneath your feet. your stomach has sunk to the bottom of your ass. 

“um, what’s happening.?" rory asks with his voice wavering. you can hear the fear that has instilled in his body. 

and when the you hear the snapping of a cable and fast rush of the elevator sinking down further and further, its too late before you realize what’s going on.

Devil May Cry's CRAZY man

So, I watched, like, ONE episode of the Netflix series of Devil May Cry, and for some stupid reason, Dante has been eating at my brain? I THOUGHT IT'D BE THE WHITE RABBIT, BUT NO, THIS IDIOT SNEAKS INSIDE AND DOES NOT APOLOGIZE FOR EATING MY BRAIN FOR A WEEK

He's constantly in my thoughts, infecting every hour of my day and will not let me focus on other plans. This is ridiculous.

Anyways, so I bought the Devil May Cry video game series.

Do I know anything about the video game series? Well...no, I don't. I never played it as a kid, nor have my brothers, and I never saw any gameplay videos of it. In fact, I don't think I was fully aware of DMC's presence until recently. I knew it existed, but didn't really think much of it, y'know?

I played one hour of the first game, and OMG??? I suppose this is spoiler territory for a game that was released in 2001, but only for the first two stages of DMC1.

TRISH IS CRAZY DAWG. I only finished level two of the game, and that INTRO??? It felt like the devs sat in a room and went "what's the sickest thing we can do to make her badass?" and WENT WITH EVERY SUGGESTION.

Does some crazy ass jump to where she appears out of nowhere from the moon and does a sick ass landing on the ground. Bursts into Dante's shop with a motorcycle that came out of NOWHERE. STABS DANTE, THROWS A MOTORCYCLE AT HIM, and then SUDDENLY she goes "I'm not your enemy, I have a job for you" LIKE??? HELLO????

I also wasn't expecting there to be no tutorial. I mean, I wasn't expecting MUCH, but I was surprised by how it just THROWS you in. Also, the camera angles throw me off, but it does remind me of old Resident Evil (I never played it, but I had watched my brothers play em), and I managed to KINDA adjust??? It's only been an hour of gameplay, I'm sure I'll manage.

Also, the start up screen (for the Ultimate collection on Steam) and for the game individually (hadn't loaded the others) are so funny. It's so obviously an old game, and it's charming in its own way. Also, heard the music cut off before looping. CLASSIC /positive

The first area was pretty decent. I liked the big open room, primarily because it almost felt like a space to learn the controls. Did I utilize this opportunity? Not really, I was just wandering around trying to explore every nook and cranny to figure out wtf I was supposed to do.

I will say, I didn't know I could aim during stage one. I thought the only way I could shoot was to jump SDUIGHISG

AND BOY DID THAT HURT MY THUMB. I was pressing B (xbox 360 controller my beloved) each time, and that SUCKED for my thumb omg. I learned like, halfway through stage two that I could aim with RB LMAO

I had no issues with stage 1, and although I didn't get a perfect score, I'm not really after the "high score" gig. I just want the ✨experience✨

Stage two confused the HELL out of me. Also, I died twice. Before the stage started, I was surprised "easy mode" was thrown at me, but of course I wanted to activate it! APPARENTLY, I DIDN'T ACTIVATE IT THE FIRST TIME ALTHOUGH I PRESSED YES? I didn't know it wanted me to confirm twice, I thought when it asked "are you sure you want to switch?", it was suddenly asking me to switch over to normal mode, which I pressed no, but it KEPT ME ON NORMAL

The room with the fountain was interesting. Considering there's a door there, I suspect I go back there at a later level??? I could go back to Stage 1 during Stage 2, so I suspect I do. The infinite enemies was an interesting mechanic.

Also, first time I went around (before I got easy mode), didn't know you could get Alastor before the ghost fight thing? The ghost that comes out of the paintings? I fought those things with the regular blade and didn't have too much of an issue, but I suspect it would've been much easier if I had Alastor the first time.

CAN I JUST SAY, THAT ALASTOR ANIMATION WAS INSANE??? Getting stabbed by the blade, then Dante just rising up, even with the big ass guard on the blade (that likely went into his throat), completely unscathed. Honestly, this feels like an edgy teenage dream, it's so fascinating.

Besides my thumb hurting, I'm having a pretty decent time! Am I confused half the time? Yes, but I don't mind. It's not exactly like the game is guiding me, so I can't fault myself for being lost sometimes. I plan to play through the series (except DMC2, I was told it's not worth it), and imma be playing them in order via release instead of the chronological timeline I was told about.

I know Netflix's DMC and the game DMC are VERY different, so I wasn't hopping into the game expecting the anime. Besides, I only saw one episode (I do plan to continue, I just got really invested in the DMC music), and it's crazy how one episode led to this.

I am genuinely really enjoying seeing people who have clearly never read the Odyssey before reacting to EPIC's Ithaca saga. I haven't listened to EPIC myself (yet) but people keep saying stuff like "Odyseeus built their palace around an olive tree he carved into his and Penelope's marriage bed that's so symbolic" and "He really just murdered all the suitors wouldn't that piss off their parents?" Which are observations and questions that the Odyssey makes incredibly blatantly clear as to the symbolism or the answer because it's a really old poem and subtlety wasn't really Homer's strong suit.

There's something really endearing about seeing people interact with the Odyssey through the same way the Ancient Greeks did - a bard singing the story of Odyseus' nostos.

(I gather the details have changed a little, but that's what happens with oral storytelling, and that's how the Odyssey got created in the first place)

Also as congratulations have my favourite ancient depiction of Odysseus surfing with two amphemorae having stolen Poseidon's trident, being sped along by Boreas, stark naked except for a cloak he's holding onto.

Headcanon #400: Heart & Mind are usually never a neutral temperature. The area around them is like the sun & moon. Mind's being hot and Hearts being cold. They're body temperatures however contrast that with Mind always feeling cold like metal/machinery and Heart feeling warm like a literal heart.
