I get Wendy now. Because yeah, I'd be friends with my weird bosses grand niece and nephew. It'd be cool. But I too would ignore the fact that the almost 13 year old boy has a huge ass crush on me because...

Like thinking about it, when I saw the show for the first time, I shipped them so hard, but I was a kid and had no concept of age and how weird that would be. But now I'm older than Wendy and honestly, that would be so freaky.

He's a child. Like a literal child. With the whole 'I'm a big boy!' going in. Wendy is a full ass teenager with a job, a boyfriend, a big friend group and a life. Dippers just there for the summer and became infatuated. Sure, they ended up stopping the apocalypse and saving the world together but he's still just a kid.

So my point is, I hear you Wendy.

wendy and dipper's dynamic is so important to me.

i know she's often categorized as just his crush, but i truly think she's the first REAL friend dipper's ever had outside of mabel. we know he struggles to make friends back home and tries really hard to be mature.

we also know wendy tries to be mature for her age, too. she's the youngest of her friend group and tries really hard to put on a whole cool, chill exterior: but she's just as stressed and anxious under the surface.

the whole "you were a freak" scene during the mystery shack party is further evidence of this.

dipper lets her be a kid again. WHICH SHE STILL IS. she's only fifteen, even though from dipper's perspective that's impossible cool and adult. she's not even old enough to drive. she still has nightmares about her mother dying. she's the only girl left in her family at home. dipper gives her a chance to not be so grown-up for once.

in almost every instance we see them hanging out, they're genuinely having a good time: building golf cart ramps, making up security camera games to pass the time at work, playing video games. friendship comes VERY easy for them. when dipper isn't freaking out about how to talk to her, they get along very well and seem to enjoy the same activities.

they keep each other's secrets. she often corrects robbie when he takes a jab at dipper and invites him to parties. she tries to make him look cool in front of her friends after what he did in the convenience store.

she gives him her hat. she takes his.

i've seen some folks say that it wasn't fair that mabel got close friends over the summer, and dipper didn't get any. to me, that's missing the obvious: he got wendy. they're best friends.

i think it's so important that it's NOT a one-sided dynamic. sure, he liked her -- of course he liked her. who wouldn't??? but he DOESN'T go the route of bill and gideon; he accepts the friendship, treasures it.

that's so fucking good.

opinion on fisiv (fishy x siv)?

If it's anything like wendip or Wendy x Mabel (idk the ship name but I saw some. questionable. art of them and I wish I could unsee it.), then I'm not touching it with a ten-foot pole.

If Tumblr Falls is anything like the show, then Siv (pretty sure that's the person taking Wendy's role) will be too old for Fishy. I'm pretty sure that Fishy having a crush on Siv is canon. But it's (probably, I don't want to confirm anything without Fishy's perm) one-sided, much like Dipper(the character ahsdjashdhj)'s crush on Wendy.

That's not to say it doesn't have a purpose! The purpose of Dipper having a crush on Wendy was for him to learn and grow from the experience, and realise that sometimes things just aren't meant to be.

The same will likely go for Fishy!

Anyways, uh. That's not even talking about how Fishy could technically be younger or older than they look due to actually being a literal fish that mutated into a human. so maybe stop shipping Fishy with people.

Dipper "jumped of several cliffs, once to prove he was a man, once to save his sister from Gideon, and then in a car with Wendy during the apocalypse, broke the laws of time to impress a girl, got chewed on by a wolf and didn't go inside because his sister and her friends were annoying him" Pines.

And then we have Soos "I will do anything for the Pines Family, has been Stans duckling since he was 13, then fought Stan when he thought he was a risk to the twins, was willing to guard the vending machine from the feds when Stan was arrested, ate a man alive" Ramirez.

Wendy "survived 3 days in an apocalyptic hellscape by herself at 15, drive a car off a cliff with Dipper riding shotgun, went with Mabel to find unicorns and then helped fight them, drop kicked Lil Gideon because he annoyed her, is the only girl in her family" Corduroy.

I'll bet that they all hang out in town and the people of Gravity Falls are just HOPING they don't come into their store because Stan and Wendy are totally going to shoplift, Mabel leaves glitter everywhere, Ford and Dipper end up in the vents somehow, and Soos ends up in a fight with a mannequin the store owner didn't even know they had.

Meanwhile, they're skipping down the main drag to get up to some fuck shit like

finished my rewatch of gravity falls today so here's some random thoughts i wrote down over the course of the last few episodes (sure most of this has been mentioned already but eh. no harm in repeating things):

-could you imagine how differently things would've gone if any of the pines members knew about ford's nightmare (especially stan)

-ford visibly shaking from how hard he's digging his fingers into the floor (referring to the security droid grabbing him)

-ford almost dies three times before bill actually captures him

-'i haven’t been able to find grunkle stan anywhere' was stan not at the shack at that time or did you just not consider checking his house

-a full limerick for 'man from kentucky' wasn’t allowed, but onscreen death is??

-shapeshifter wink + mabeland fake wendy wink

-why is the unicorn half petrified? what caused the gnome to be mostly petrified, but not quite? how was woodpecker guy able to keep his petrified woodpecker? so many questions about these guys. what occurred here

-first time ford gets turned to "gold", he appears cracked. the second time, he’s free of cracks. implication: either the stone/"gold" people get turned into cracks over time or bill roughed ford up a bit even before the torture

-bill disassembles ford and reassembles him on the other side of the room. interesting to consider for. y'know. torture

-speaking of bill, WHY DO YOU HAVE EIGHT EYELASHES NOW. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO HAVE SEVEN

-love fiddleford so much. and also zanthar. and craz and xyler. and soos. and-

-manly dan hugs wendy more gently than soos does

-was wondering why pacifica seemed to have a bit of a character regression. then realized that she had to live with her abusive parents after the party. they uh. they need to be obliterated (heck you can even tell there's a sort of distance between them based on the fact that pacifica's parents wait for her to come to them, as opposed to the corduroys running to wendy immediately. it's not even a durland + blubs situation, they are fully aware of their surroundings at this point)

-pacifica's still trying her best though!!

-ford sings happy birthday with everyone else :)))

-ford's hair grows out really quickly
