A week or so ago, I made a post about Yukari's letter from episode 42 of Kamen Rider Agito, asking if anyone had turned the stylized English it was written in into a font. From what I could find, no one had.
So I did.
Say hello to Limitless Evolution, my first (and so far only) custom font, based off what's more or less the catalyst for the entire plot of the 2001 tokusatsu, Kamen Rider Agito. It's available in both OTF and SVG formats, and I've included the .txt save file for the website I used to make it, in case you want to mess around with that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
left: the screencap from my original post. right: the first paragraph of the letter, typed up in wordpad using the Limitless Evolution font.
And if you're wondering, here's what it says in readable English:
"In the beginning was Theos. Theos divided the light from the darkness, the day from the night, the firmament from the earth, and the land from the sea. Thus the world was finished."
A list of changes I had to make, for those curious:
The letter never uses the letters J, Q, X, and Z, so I had to come up with my own designs for them.
There are no parentheses, mainly because by the time I got to those characters, I couldn't think of any way to make them look good and consistent with the rest of the font.
Idk where else I can mention this but I realized partway through making this that, because all of the characters use straight lines, the Unknown (or whatever entity is responsible for this "language") likely used to write on wax or stone, since straight lines are much easier to legibly write with on those surfaces. Of course, this means there are absolutely no curves anywhere in this font (at least in the custom characters).
You might notice a few re-uses of specific characters here and there in other characters. Had I not done that, I 100% would've gotten burnt out halfway thru and never finished this.
The numerals are obviously not Arabic. I took inspiration from the weird "gang signs" the Unknown do before they commit murder and made the signs for numbers look like fingers on hands. I imagine their counting system works exactly like Arabic/base-10 counting, just with different symbols.
I replaced the tilde with a "does not equal" sign. The tilde sometimes signifies "is approximately equal to", and I figured the Unknown probably wouldn't vibe with that kinda thing.
I was gonna make the @ sign the Agito symbol but I forgor. 💀
The dollar sign ($) is also custom. It's the symbol for G with a line thru it. The Unknown strike me as a culture that would use Gold, plus it looks kinda like a crystal, which they might also perhaps use.
The ampersand (&) and plus (+) use the same symbol. I figured they mean basically the same thing, so why not, y'know? Also I couldn't come up with a good design for it.
I literally just realized as I'm writing this that the lowercase M is only slightly smaller than the capital M, and the lowercase and capital Ns are the same size. My bad. When/If I make an updated version of this, I'll be sure to fix that.
I used the comma in like six different characters. It's not laziness, it's resourcefulness.
Lastly, the greater than (>) and less than (<) symbols are meant to represent people bowing/praying, since I figured the Unknown would probably see it as whichever number was more "powerful". Kinda like the alligator thing but with fighting instead of eating.
So yeah. If you want, you can download the font by clicking its name earlier in this post, or here if you'd prefer:
Lemme know if there's any improvements or adjustments I should make in the next version that may or may not come out some time in the near or distant future. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ idk. Hope you enjoy regardless!
Update: In case you missed it, I released an updated version of the font that adds parentheses, brackets, some diacritics, and other fun things. It, along with the original version are both downloadable from the Google Drive link above (hopefully). I’m still planning on updating it again in the future, so if you have any suggestions or issues you’d like to see fixed in the future, lemme know and I’ll see what I can do.

HOWTO: Installing Third Party Firmware On Flipper Zero
Tumblr media
There are many new Flipper Zero owners and I see the Flipper Hackers Collective Facebook group is starting to get inundated with questions about firmwares and such, so I though I'll write a quick guide to get everyone started as easily as possible. If you just got your Flipper Zero, I would highly recommend that you get yourself familiarised with the stock firmware first and how to use the qFlipper app that you install on your computer. You can find all the documentation over here. After you have learnt how to use your Flipper Zero and understand the basics, you can then jump into exploring other third party firmwares. Here are the most popular third party firmwares:
Unleashed Firmware
Xtreme Firmware
RogueMaster
These third party firmwares can have different user interface design, different bundled apps, animations, etc. Generally speaking, they will be a little more complicated than the stock firmware as they are adding more functionality.
Now would be a good time to make a backup of your Flipper Zero micro SD card. If anything bad happens, you can always flash your original firmware again and restore your micro SD card contents and you will be back to where you were, so this is a pretty safe thing to do.
In general, the process to install a new third party firmware is to download the latest firmware from the Github page of that firmware, connect your Flipper Zero to your computer, run qFlipper and use it to install from the file you downloaded. This is the same process regardless of which firmware you choose. There are other ways to do this, but this is probably the most straight forward.
I will go thru the example of installing RogueMaster firmware below, but it's the same for all the others.
The Steps
First, go to the Github page of the firmware you wish to install. The links are provided above. Now scroll down a bit and look on the right side of the page, you will see a "Releases" section. Click on the latest release. In the next page, you can read thru the list of changes in this version and other information about this firmware. Some firmware might release several variants of the same version, like whether you want the extra apps or animations and such. Scroll down to the “Assets” section and download the .tgz file of the variant you want. In the screenshot below, I chose the RogueMaster firmware that includes all the animations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After downloading the firmware file, run qFlipper app and connect your Flipper Zero to your computer using a cable that supports data connections. If you are unsure, just use the cable that came with your Flipper Zero. If your Flipper Zero is locked by pin, you must unlock it now. On your qFlipper app, click on "Install from File", then select the firmware file that you downloaded earlier. You will be asked to confirm if you want to install the file you selected, so go ahead and click INSTALL.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You should now see the qFlipper app go through the update process and your Flipper Zero will show that as well. The screen on your Flipper Zero might flash a few times during this process and that's perfectly normal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once the qFlipper app is done uploading the firmware into your Flipper Zero, you still need to wait for your Flipper Zero to complete its part of the process, so don't disconnect your Flipper Zero just yet, until you see the success screen on your Flipper Zero.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's it. Now you can click the right arrow button to go thru some screens and you will be back in your Flipper. Depending on the firmware you chose, things can look quite different, so you need to take the time to familiarise yourself with it. In general, all the things you learnt when using the stock firmware are still there and works the same, though they might be located in a slightly different location or you might need to use different button presses to get there. Play around with it and you should be able to figure it out. I hope this guide has been helpful and join our Makers & Hackers Exchange Facebook group to participate in the community.

Some Bad, But Good News for TS3 Worldbuilders Regarding EA App
Tumblr media
So, there's been an elephant in the room that many TS3 CAW builders have been avoiding talking about now this entire time, the fact that EIG feature in Create a World doesn't work at all with EA App and the entire thing never worked on Steam without a hack. Most of us just kept quiet about the issue, sticking with Origin or using the registry edit hack on Steam to get things working. But as of February 2023, it seems as if the hack doesn't work and that Origin has become so crippled right now that you can't launch EIG with it anymore.
There is a tiny sliver of hope in all this: you can download an earlier version of Origin for the time being, one that won't force you to switch to EA App and will still work. I picked a version 10-5-70, but I suppose that any version predating an update that came out in 2022 will do. Just make sure to tick off settings for automatic updates, and to not click anything that asks you to update.
I have no idea how long this hack will work (and you might have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling Origin), but just know that it worked for me this morning and hopefully will work for you.
ETA: Someone at Mod The Sims alerted me about another hack, found via Reddit. It involves adding a line of code to a text file: https://www.reddit.com/r/origin/comments/115fny8/solution_to_the_forced_migration_from_origin_to/.
ETA #2: The above hack, in which you alter a line of code to prevent Origin from forcing you over to EA Desktop, works as of Feb 27, 2023.

Hello Tumblr, this is the end of the line. I have not written on this page for a while and it is best to let this blog gather dust and walk away. Before I walk away completely, let me provide one last update, a happy, loving, complete story that wraps up my blog well. The title “.” not only signals the end, but a completion, just as this person has completed me. She is not only my best friend, but my loving, cute, beautiful fiancée (yes, you read that right). This post is for her, for I am and always will be eternally grateful that she has changed my life for the better in all facets.
2020 was a once in a century event, a massive global pandemic called Covid-19 that shut Earth down. Some things would never be the same again, work/office life, travel and my love life…on May 8th 2020, after re-downloading CMB after a time away from my last relationship, I matched with her with little knowledge that my life was about to completely change. My first line was nothing special asking how lockdown was treating her but with every line and message, I felt something, an emotion that would blossom and bloom beyond the prettiest hydrangea or peony. I was never more happy to be away from my bad habits, to video call and talk to her as night times with her became my favourite time of the day. We waited out for a few months before meeting in person in the first week of July. I was nervous, things had been going great and I didn’t want to mess things up but when I saw her, it relaxed me and those strong feelings I had only grew with every moment.
With every date, call, gift…with every passing day, it felt like I was living my best dream. I fell for her just like you fall asleep to quote TFIOS “slowly, then all at once.” It is hard to point to a time but subconsciously, she was the only person I want to spend time with or share my insecurities and emotions to and that is something I have never felt in anyone else. Never has it felt more easy or natural and never has it clicked as well as it still does to this day and as it will going forward.
The relationship was not without trials, mainly Covid related and personal issues but no matter how big the efforts were to put out the fire, it kept burning brighter and stronger. I would never give up on someone as special as her and I would be stupid to throw it away so despite the stress growing with every passing day, I persevered and stayed committed knowing if we could get through this, then we could get through anything. I’m grateful for her patience too and sticking with me through the most difficult times.
I have never felt more supported to be a better version of myself. To have someone push you and make you more ambitious to reach your goals is priceless. I probably do not say this enough but I would never be where I am now or as happy as I am now without her and it is all thanks to her. On our journey together, we celebrated getting new jobs, shared countless memories on trips, achieved key milestones in our lives and most importantly, got engaged. We moved in to our new flat earlier this year and this experience living with you is better than anything I could have imagined or drawn up as a child growing up. I have learned independence, responsibility and yet am so lucky to be cared for and loved by her every day. But the best feeling and best part of my every day is cuddling her to sleep every night and waking up next to her every morning. She is the reason I smile, the reason I look forward to my every day for the rest of my life.
I hope I can be even half the amazing person she is and I will do everything I can to make sure she gets all she wants and desires as that is the least she deserves putting up with me every day. I love her more than words can describe and my wish is that even as this page or blog will gather dust, she will come by every now and then to read this and realise how special she is as a person and how special she is to me. She is the best thing that has happened to me ever and I will never let go.
We are almost at the finish line Tumblr…one final paragraph. Our lives, our fate changes with each decision we make and we all go through our lives making many important decisions. Everything that led up to our relationship and where we are now was based on decisions. I am happy with my decisions, I hope she is as well. Let us carry on filling in pages and chapters of our unfinished story. Next stop: Wedding!
I love you.

Ask Answers (February 22nd, 2021)
Hello! Here’s another collection of anon ask answers all put together in one big post.
This might be strange considering how upbeat yall are about the fandoms for your games in general, but is there any particular trope or ship you WOULDN'T want us writing/drawing/etc. in relation to your stuff? (IE, any canon you don't want us 'overwriting' or something like that?)
Of course we would want the fan content people make to not be racist, sexist, homophobic, bigoted, harmful, etc. But in terms of generally doing non-canon pairings or adding in headcanons or stuff, we really don’t mind that. People are welcome to have fun and explore their own ideas.
for the 1.2 Android update was it meant to download as a  separate app? I really want to keep my previous save files but they don't show up (also thank u for the updates I'm really excited to get back into the game!!)
We had to change the name of the file and unfortunately for some phones that meant it’s treated as a brand new game. I’m sorry your saves didn’t transfer over to the new version. You can try to look up your specific phone and see if there’s a way to access save files for games on your device and then transfer those saves over to the new build manually. It may or may not be possible.
I'm having some trouble figuring out how to get the update from Itichio without losing my save files? Is it the same game or a folder I can put in the properties? Sorry if this question is not worded well or if this isn't the avenue you'd want to take technical questions on
Are you using Android? If so, the above answer may apply to you. If you’re on PC or Mac, the save files will automatically still be included.
Hey. I really loved playing our life. It was a fun experience and I never thought I would like it this much. I do have a question, I am currently replaying the game and I am choosing choices I never chose at first. In step 2 during the road trip arc, I decided to ask Cove about what he liked to see on people. One of his response was anklets and black eyes. My MC have just happens to have black eyes. Do Cove say black eyes cuz my mc have it or it was just a coincidently programmed into the game?
He uses your eye color intentionally! If you changed your eye color he’d change what he said.
Will step 4 have 10 moments like steps 1-3?
Step 4 is only an epilogue. It plays like the openings/endings of the earlier Steps where it’s a bunch of scenes all in a row, there aren’t any individual Moments.
hi! who was/were the artist(s) for our life?
&
who is the artist for Our Life: Beginning and Always?
Main Sprite and CG Artist: Addrossi
Main Background Artist: Vui Huynh
Main Interface Artist: Winter Slice
Other artists who helped out can be seen in the credits of the game.
In the new ol, there are two main love interests... Would it be possible to pair them together or is that weird?
You can’t stay single and pair them together. If we are going to add all the extra content to have a route where the two LIs get together, it’d be a full poly route where them and the MC were all dating. And that’s not a for sure option yet because it’d add a lot of extra complications. But either way, in OL the relationships all gotta be about the MC, haha.
In OL2, there will be extra LIs in form of DLCs? Like Dexter and Baxter.
Maybe! We’ll see how it goes.
Since Cove will have 2 diff body types in s4, will the storyline and dialogs reflect this? Or all of it will be the same? Btw love the game and sorry for bad english. Hope this doesn't sound rude 😅
Some descriptions and pieces of dialog will change, but it won’t impact the story really. And you don’t need to apologize! It’s all good.
Will you ever release the transparent sprites of the Our Life characters?
Probably not, I’m afraid. They’ve got a lot of pieces and it’d just be kind of hard to deal with, aha.
Something I was curious about, what was your inspiration for making a game with so much customization?
Initially, the idea was just about having a romance where you actually grew up with the LI. But it was pretty stressful to try deciding how fast the relationship would progress with it taking place over such a long period of time and with no real storyline carrying it. People might not wanna play a game where the characters don’t get along as kids, but other people might not bother with a game where kids immediately liked each other. So the obvious answer came, just let the player pick themselves how it goes. From there we simply continued to add more flexibly with the MC due to the same thought process of wanting to make sure people were onboard with how their life was going.
What made you decide to change the artstyle for ol 2 so much? I of course respect all your decisions and will buy the shit out of everything related to ol 2, but i love the original style and i m honestly not a fan of the styles shown on patreon, despite me liking the painterly style in general. (I don t mind the style being changed, just that the examples shown so far all feel like there s something wrong with them.)
We’ve always used different art styles for each of our projects. They all have distinct looks from each other. It’s just nice to do something new. I’m glad you really like how the first game looks, though. And those samples were only general concepts, rather than the exact options being decided between. We wanted to see reactions to different options. The art style we’re going with won’t be exactly like those, though I personally like all of them. I think players are gonna enjoy the style Our Life: Now & Forever when it’s revealed.
Hey! Is it ok to ask what gender ourlife2 protagonist will be and if we'll be given the same opportunity to customize an MC? Totally understand if you're keeping this under wraps for now if u don't wanna say!
OL2 will have the same type of MC customization as OL1, but even more refined! So their gender will be up to you.
Hi! I happened upon Our Life on Steam by pure chance. It is such a great game, I am super excited about the DLC, and I just want you all to know that you are awesome! :D I have a question, and I'm sorry if it's been asked before. Do you have plans of making more games similar to Our Life, with customizable player character? The customizable player character was probably the one thing I personally have been desperate for in romance VNs. So glad there finally is one and would love to see more.
Thank you! And yep, we do have plans for more games like Our Life, most notably is another game in the franchise- Our Life: Now & Forever. We’ll also likely have other, non-OL, games with customizable MCs, though we may still have some games with set MCs in the future as well.
On the patreon dlc just curious but is it possible to play it without actually sleeping together/getting the nsfw content? I just want to spend more time with Cove
Yeah, you can still choose not to go that far. Though the event is shorter if you pass on the 18+ stuff.
At the beginning of Step 2, did Cove end up accidentally falling asleep in your bed? Or did he fall asleep on the floor?
He fell asleep sitting on the floor with his body/head leaning against the side of the bed.
This may seem like a weird question, but what exactly is the difference between "direct" and "relaxed" on the comfort scale?
Direct is blunter and more teasing, relaxed is lighthearted and goes with the flow.
can the MC have tattoos in step 3?
Not in Step 3, but you can in Step 4.
how would Cove react if he visited somewhere like North Carolina in winter where it can get in the 20s(F) at night sometimes?
He would be shocked and unprepared for what serious coldness is really like, haha. The poor beach baby would wanna go home.
Hello! I just joined the PATREON!! It’s amazing! I love your games! I have a question, approximately how much after will the nsfw be out? After or before the dlc 3 and step four? Sorry my English isn’t the best!❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much! The NSFW DLC will be out after the Step 3 DLC but before Step 4. And you don’t need to apologize for that ^^.
This might be obvious but, will step 4 have dlcs? Also, where will the nsfw dlc happen? Won't bother me at all if it s in in our or his house but i do think it d be moderately funny
Step 4 will have the Cove Wedding DLC and the Derek and Baxter romance DLCs each add a lot of new content to Step 4, though they’re also partially set in Step 2 and Step 3 respectively. The NSFW DLC happens in Cove’s room.
I keep wondering what would've happened if Mr. Holden met Lizzie first instead of the MC. I can't see that turning out well somehow lol.
It wouldn’t have made a difference. He met the MC’s parents first and they told him about their two kids. He wanted the MC specifically to be Cove’s friend because the two were the same age.
Even though we have a way to go I'm really excited for OL 2! I was curious though, is the next main character going to be adopted again? I thought it was really clever to make the first main character adopted so when players are customizing,  they can make them look how ever they like without worrying about pesky genetics. Just wondering!
The OL2 MC is not adopted. We wanted to go for a new dynamic. Instead their parents are their biological single mother who is partially customizable and an off-screen sperm donor father. So the mom will look generally like the MC and any other traits not from her can be assumed to come from whoever the father was.

I dont think I ever said anything about this, but when I replayed the skyrim romance mod after it got an update a while back, it seemed like someone read my random comments about it and like....actually tweaked the mod?? which is really cool imo. putting this under a cut since I think the mod still generally has a bad rep, even though it seems like theyre working on that in some capacity. I didnt really even know what the drama was about in the first place.
literally everything I talked about that could be fixed within a reasonable amount of time was fixed. back then (~3-4 yrs ago) I was a little more tolerant of the “bad boy, borderline abusive” type and while the character himself seems to be intentionally pushy, it seems to be a bit better. if I remember correctly, I think they cut the rapey bits and just worked around it so that bishop was still a brat about your player not wanting to have sex, but not a scary horny nutcase. theres a big difference between “youre gonna have sex with me one of these days wench!!” and “ugh, fine, be like that!” its def not A+, but it is an improvement that still suits the character. I obviously wasnt too bothered with the earlier version back then (had some stuff I was going through), but now I can see the concern, and to me its less cringey. Id have to replay it again to see how I feel exactly, but Im sure its better at least.
they re-did the whole interaction with cael so instead of him talking about how he could give you orgasms like youve never seen, hes cautious of you yet still kind of flirty. a real sweetie. I mean, I like the new bit, but he could also let me know hes dtf a little bit. lmao thats just me though.
the one thing I did not like too much was that they added animations for the sex scenes, and that you had no choice but to sit through them (unless you said no to sex altogether). since I literally set the camera so that I could not see the sex anims, I did get to hear bishops VA during the scenes and Imma just say.......... you should hear them. even if its just the once. lmao. I read that theyre gonna cut out the sex mod dependencies so that you can just have fade to black scenes, and I am for that 1000000%.
now I just hope it gets ported it to the special edition, because it seems waaay too hard and time consuming to do it myself. I tried to start but the list of tasks was just too long to justify working on when I have homework and other stuff to do.
outside all that, I can see why there was such a bad vibe surrounding the mod at first. it all made sense when I read about the drama on reddit, but the harshness  was a bit... much?? from what I read, the creator made some bad choices and eventually acknowledged/fixed them. her reasoning and intentions for making them could be questionable, but people are human, idk what else to say. Im just... not grabbing a pitchfork over this and I fail to see any reason to continue that now lmao. she obviously still wants to hold everything together for the mod and do things better so... Im not gonna hold a grudge even if she made bad choices. she ultimately canceled the kickstarter, and this is all ultimately over a mod. a skyrim mod. you either wanna play and support it or you dont because of very valid reasons. its up to you. but either way it just will never be that serious.
I honestly got the impression that she might be a bad person from stuff I read until I got the chance to read about everything, and then I was like wow.. she fucked up, but the worst thing she did was undone the same day it happened so...like... yall couldve just went on about your lives and left this woman alone.
anyway, long talk. it seems like the mods at a standstill, since it hasnt been ported to the SE yet and I dont think the creator herself has made any announcements about actual updates coming soon. but I actually hope things stay positive for the mod.
(also psa, this is for my followers/mutuals if there interested in talking about it. Ive tagged this for the sole purpose of being able to be filtered by those who dont want to hear anything about it.)
Update: so I downloaded the beta for the SE. it wasnt working for me as the dialogue would seem to break anytime after I used racemenu. I literally cant play skyrim without changing my hair, and the person in charge of the beta said to try playing it on a no-rush new game so... I kind of gave up. I had started over twice after already sinking 4-8 hours into those 2 new games, specifically for the mod, and I just didnt feel like doing it again.
Replaying the bits that I could, I will say it is... kind of cheesy. Doesnt bother me much though. I used to write bad fanfiction, so its not the worst. Its just not impervious to being... cheesy at times. Idk how to put it lol. Maybe you could say its tropey? Like something youd read in a romance novel with those dramatic traditional cover illustrations. Not bad. Just, if you hate that kinda thing, you might not be into it. Im not very critical because the alternative is like. 1 other mod? So I just dont mind.
Outside of that I kind of have no idea what my complete opinion is on it now. I intended to find out, but gave up due to modding issues. I was a little younger when I first played it, so I may have different opinions on it now. As I mentioned before my opinion of sex and certain character traits used to be different, and its changed a lot since then. Its still kind of changing even now. I still go “yeah... that was the trauma” about stuff I used to think was not so bad.
To be honest I didnt even remember having an opinion of it as cheesy a few years ago, but now after replaying for the 3rd time Im like... from what little Ive seen so far, its some pretty sharp cheddar lol. So if it is a lot worse than you felt you were led to believe from reading this, Im sorry, and you can inbox me about it. Especially since I may not ever even play the newest version.

MediEvil 2019 - Review (PS4)
10/28/19
Tumblr media
Developed by Other Ocean Emeryville / Sony Computer Entertainment, released October 2019
It has risen again! The original MediEvil from 1998 is one of my favorite games of all time, and one of the games I have completed the most. Like other games from the PS1 era, I discovered MediEvil on a demo disc and replayed it constantly. I loved the Nightmare Before Christmas aesthetics and music, and liked that it stared a cowardly bumbling skeleton. The late 90′s was a time of experimentation for 3D action/adventure games, and while some people hold Ocarina of Time or Super Mario 64 as their favorites of the genre, MediEvil has always been my personal favorite. MediEvil II released two years later, but lost a lot of its appeal for me because it took place in Victorian London instead of the graveyards and spooky locations of the original. MediEvil: Resurrection was made in 2005 for the PSP, but was more of a re-imagining of the original game, and not a true remake.
I had heard about MediEvil being remade yet again a couple years ago, but tried to have tempered expectations, and not buy into what could amount to be rumors. I imagined it would be akin to a big screen version of MediEvil: Resurrection, or at least the developers would butcher the original game. Last year was when I saw the trailer for this MediEvil remake, and I felt more confident in it. While most people were anticipating big triple-A or franchise games for 2019, my sights and hopes were dead set on this. Finally, after all this time of waiting, MediEvil 2019 has released exclusively for the PS4, and I couldn’t be happier with the final product. Other Ocean Emeryville has created a deeply loyal and extremely faithful remake of the original game I cherish so much, but I feel like only true fans will be able to truly appreciate it for the accomplishment it is.
Tumblr media
Before I talk about the game proper, I have to elaborate on the unexpected odyssey it took to actually get the game going. Not only do I have to make a three hour round trip to the nearest Gamestop to get a copy, the game had to immediately download a day one patch: version 1.01. This update was a massive 16GB, and with my super slow mountainous wi-fi speed, my PS4 predicted it would take at least 50 hours. There was no option to begin the game without this update. I was floored. It put me in a state of blue-balled depression and denial. So I took my TV, PS4, and all the necessary cords, and physically hooked in my PS4 to my work’s ethernet cable in a public building, hoping no one would disturb it. The estimated time dropped to a meager four hours, and it made me feel a lot better. Ironically, my PS4 only realized I didn’t have enough storage space to download the update, and somewhere along the line it quit. Thankfully, it let me play after giving up.
Expectations mean a lot, and leading up to this MediEvil releasing, I intentionally did not do a lot of research on the game in order to discover it in person as I was playing. I didn’t realize this was a fully committed remake of the original. MediEvil: Resurrection disappointed me because it changed a bunch about the game and left out a lot of my favorite levels. 2019′s MediEvil recreates every inch of the original game with modern graphics. I was so thrilled I can’t even describe how cool it was to see one of my favorite games of all time with a new coat of skin, especially because I never thought THIS game would be chosen to be remade. Not only that, but the game uses the same exact audio for most of the dialog; each and every gargoyle head and character Dan meets plays the same audio as I’ve had engraved in my skull for over twenty years, only with new character models and more elaborate animations.
Tumblr media
The developers even used the same music for each level, only re-recorded it with only small differences or flourishes. Even insignificant things like textures on a doorway or on the ground were recreated in 3D to look just like they did. I would have been perfectly okay with the developers simply using modern graphics and textures to remake certain pieces of architecture or focal points in this game, but no, every corner of Gallowmere represented the original locations, and I constantly had to pick my jaw off the floor (no offense Dan). Cinematics also play out exactly the same, with the same camera angles and movements. Part of me thinks about how maybe Other Ocean Emeryville could have taken these short cinematics sprinkled throughout the game and elaborated slightly on lore, but that would veer dangerously close to a “re-imagining” territory, and I’m just thankful everything is kept so faithful in the end.
The banished necromancer Zarok has raised an army of the dead to conquer the realm of Gallowmere. Unwittingly, Zarok also brought back to life Sir Daniel Fortesque, King Peregrine's captain of the militia, who perished embarrassingly years prior in an earlier battle against Zarok and his armies. After Fortesque’s death, fables, songs, and legends told of his false bravery and battlefield accomplishments, but now he has the opportunity to live up to his own mythical status as the hero of Gallowmere. I’ve always loved this story, wherein the bad guy accidentally raises the very hero who would thwart him. I’ve always loved Dan because he’s so unlike most knights and heroes. He has to live up to his own reputation, and prove those wrong who know what truly happened. We play as Dan and travel from the hum drum graveyards of Gallowmere all the way through more exotic levels such as a pumpkin gorge filled with demonic pumpkins, crystal caverns filled with Minotaur-like monsters, an enchanted forest containing a demonic prison, and much more.
Tumblr media
The first advantage to the modernization of this game was being able to see the Hilltop Mausoleum (the 2nd level) from The Cemetery (the 1st level). It would make sense if you had an expansive cemetery, and the very next level, adjacent to that level, had a massive building on top of a hill, and you could see it from far away. As a PS1 game I’d never expect to see something like that, but with this remake, they had the care to include things such as this, which only helps the world feel that much more real and connected. The controls and mechanics are nearly the same as the original as well, only made slightly more convenient. Dan can still equip a one-handed weapon and a shield, and switch between weapons in a menu. He can block attacks, but only as long as the shield’s HP holds out, until you need to find a new one. Dan has all the same moves as the original, but the more free-form camera makes the game a bit more convenient to play by making platforming and seeing things easier.
As you slay enemies in each level, you fill a chalice, and bringing back a full chalice to the end of each respective level grants you a visit to the Hall of Heores before the next level begins; this world’s version of Valhalla, where the most accomplished heroes of history drink, feast, and arm wrestle for eternity. A side goal of this game is to collect the chalice from every level so Dan can also become a member of this ethereal warrior’s afterlife (twenty in all). This is something I struggled with as a kid, but in the past many years I’ve always gone out of my way to make sure Sir Fortesque gets into the Hall of Heroes where he rightfully deserves to be. Sometimes items can be found in a level which are to be used in entirely different levels, something the game only hints at. Case in point are the Ant Caves, which is a maze-like level hidden within a level that is completely optional to complete (but not if you want all twenty chalices).
Tumblr media
Some of the original game’s drawbacks could be regarded as similar drawbacks for this remake. Criticisms like haphazard combat and imprecise platforming are somewhat the same case here, but I would argue that’s half the point playing as a gangling hero who hasn’t yet earned his stripes. I honestly can’t take an unbiased position on some of the game’s more objective problems, not only because I’m such a fanatic and have played the original so many times, but also because it’s impossible for me to have a fresh perspective on the game. I can’t tell you how hard the puzzles are or how tough the game is simply because I’ve played the original so many times, I’ve gotten used to any perceived problems and solved all the puzzles so long ago. Reviews for this game seem to be lukewarm, and it’s an opinion I can’t share because I’m so impressed by how faithful one of my all time obscure favorites has been recreated.
In fact the very few changes the developers did make I could count on one hand. Mostly these changes have been made to a few of the game’s boss fights. Most of the bosses have always been very easy, especially compared to today’s obsession where bosses are meant to be extremely punishing. I can honestly say the changes are for the better and improve on these boss fights. For example the fight with the captain of the ghost ship has been improved, allowing you to manual aim a canon before firing it at him, rather than running back and forth between two fixed canons, hoping one of your shots hit the captain as he paces back and forth. Another addition are the “Lost Souls” which are hidden collectibles, one in each level that can be found by Sir Dan. This basically makes you replay every level to find the Lost Souls, as they only appear once you’re already near the end of the game. I can’t say I was motivated to find them, at least not right now, since it appears to be a shallow fetch-quest.
Tumblr media
Besides getting the game booted in the first place, I did a have a few technical problems while playing the game. These are probably because the version 1.01 patch never actually downloaded and installed, and I may have been experiencing what the developers were trying to fix. One example was a door not opening once I had defeated all the enemies in the room, effectively trapping me there forever, forcing me to restart the level. The problems were mainly things such as this, and I bet I’m the only person in the world who had to complete the game from beginning to end raw without the day one patch. Otherwise the game ran great, and looks good as Hell.
I’m so glad Other Ocean Emeryville didn’t try to subvert expectations or put a clever twist on certain things, leaving it as is. MediEvil 2019 constantly impressed me, and I don’t think I’ve felt this much fan service and satisfaction since the Shadow Moses chapter of Metal Gear Solid 4 from 2008. The music, dialog, weapons, level design, aesthetics, enemies and controls have been painstakingly remade, giving this cult classic an impressive new look. Its the restrictive nature of the developer’s design philosophy I appreciate the most; this is simply a game for the fans, and very obviously by the fans. MediEvil was my most anticipated game of 2019 and I am deeply satisfied and surprised about how well it turned out. Annoying day one patch download aside, I had an incredible time experiencing this remake. While some gameplay flaws might still exist, and those who don’t already love the original may not see it in the same level of reverence, this was a big payoff for me and I’m sure other dedicated fans feel the same. Thank you Other Ocean Emeryville, this has been a wonderful gift.

unaesthetic asks (anon edition)
i usually use a psd for asks to make them look nice and transparent and number them but tbh it’s just keeping me from answering asks quickly, having to shift layers around and stuff. so this is me literally cutting and pasting the text of some asks into a text post instead, sry.
if i did not answer yr thing here i lost/never got the ask, need a separate post to answer it (community lot anon), or worked myself into an anxious lather when i did not have an immediate response at the ready and fled into the woods to hide inside an old damp log and mutate slowly into a creature composed entirely of moss.
Tumblr media
1) hey friend i think i can actually help with this one! slig did my poor lover for momma lisa, and has a few of my other skins linked to different body meshes in this tag here. @asimplevampire also did rehash for androgyny. those are the two i know off the top of my head but if anyone else knows any others pls reply to this post!
i don’t personally make showerproof skintones for body meshes because i a) am lazy and b) don’t usually take pics of my sims in the shower or naked in general so the occasional floating head just gives me a lil chortle when it does happen.
Tumblr media
2) yis, it is the second to last one in this post by @magpieplayssims with a bunch of face masks piled on.
Tumblr media
3) i use a personal edit of gunmod’s 3.1 A camera which alters the, like, central pivot axis so i can swing the camera underground into any basements i might be using. as a result, whenever i load the lot, it starts me off zoomed inside the floor, you just gotta zoom out with the scroll wheel to get above ground and it works normally from there. i haven’t figured out how to mitigate this while still being able to access underground rooms. which is why my edit never got its own post, but i did share it here.
Tumblr media
4) nah, not really. i mean i have an outdated one at the back of my catalogue but my face is boring to me cuz i see it every day n stuff & i’m less and less interested in making human features now that custom sliders have let me go absolutely mad with power.
Tumblr media
5) ye sorry i put that on my to-do list and promptly forgot about it cuz my brain seems to think that putting something on a list means it’s done forever now!!!! but now it’s actually done and i’m fixing the other links too.
Tumblr media
6) yr phone is a craven liar and i will not stand for this libel. earlier today i was genuinely bewildered by a discussion about channing tatum cuz i thought his name was tatum channing. i sat there for minutes, convinced that there were two guys in hollywood one named channing tatum and the other named tatum channing and wondering if that ever got confusing for them.
Tumblr media
7) u would be surprised, friend! my memory is a lawless wasteland but i do not end up chatting back and forth w/ many ppl b/c i am a seething pit of social anxiety. if we talked, like, more than twice, i probs remember u!
Tumblr media
8) omg i was about to be like “nah i never made nosemasks for those” but that is a fucking lie of the highest caliber, i totally did make one (1) set and then forgot entirely about it. i will post them with the next batch of bodyshop content which should be Shortly (and if i don’t just yell @ me and i’ll just lazily put them on sfs and link them in a reply).
also thank u anon i am glad u like my content! :D
Tumblr media
9) omg thank u so much anon that is so sweet of u to say!! truly i don’t feel like i have accomplished a whole lot beyond managing to snag @resurrection-failed but that is definitely the Best thing i could accomplish so i am 100% fine w/ that
Tumblr media
10) oh ts4. i want to play it real bad but i have discovered that playing games that are still being updated and could break at any moment due to a new patch or ep gives me hives. esp when it’s sims games b/c those are held together exclusively w/ wishes and prayers as it is. they’re like the bottom panel of an expanding brain meme on spaghetti coding. at least when the game is Done there nothing else for EA to break (... right?). plus i only have base+pets and no money to throw at the other expansions so i could maybe download 1/10th of the cc available out there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
but i am excited to be late af to the party. lemme tell u. thank u for saying such nice things, anon!! i hope u have a good day also. like, lots of ‘em.
Tumblr media
11) hey anon! it’s built into tumblr’s text editor. u type the text first, highlight it, and click on the fourth button that looks like a slouchy figure 8 to insert yr link. i’m not sure if it’s the same on mobile, tho, cuz the tumblr mobile app is self-elected torture.
Tumblr media
12) i do not right now but i can make one. idk if it would interest you but i am also doing a big ol’ blend of the hq eyes and wifezaya’s favorite ephemera mist eyes and will make a default version of those too when they are done.
Tumblr media
13) nah i am still using my v3 texture for straight hairs and for waves or natural hair i just use nouk’s originals. i’m old-fashioned and boring. if u need help w/ making yr own, tho, i would suggest checking out @furbyq’s tutorial here!
Tumblr media
14) hey friend! i did have plans to do that, in that vague way where i have plans to do many things but most of the time end up taking a five-hour nap under a cat instead or watchin game grumps. luckily, @digitalangels is a doll and did it for me so consider this my official endorsement. i am pooklet and i approve this action.
Tumblr media
15) hey anon. when did i call it that?? i think usually i just call it marriage or equal marriage if i need to specify (or gay marriage if i’m feelin Spicy cuz nonbinary-for-nonbinary is pretty gay). if i did say same-sex it was probs w/ implied air-quotes since that was the term du jour when we got married, which was 3+ years before the supreme court mandate, when it was only legal in some places and everyone was still ‘‘‘‘debating’’’’ the ‘‘‘‘issue’’’’ of queers gettin all married.
Tumblr media
16) i been gatherin’ links for u anon but lemme look around a lil more. i will either give this its own post or add it as its own section in the resource post that is like .... five years overdue. meanwhile if anyone reading this has anything they either know is made for dark skin or works well universally or knows of a list like this that already exists, i would appreciate links!
Tumblr media
17) I KNOW THAT’S YOU, AZAYA

[EXCLUSIVE MATERIAL] Pokemon Anime Translation Glossaries (with trivia/beta stuff)
[Veeeery long post, but believe me, it's worth it]
Alternatively, just scroll to the download links and see the thing for yourself.
So, you are probably used to the fact that this blog is strictly themed, sharing pictures of various (but always official) representations of human characters from Pokemon series, especially the lesser-known or forgotten characters from the games.
This update, however, will be a bit out-of-theme, but still strictly Pokemon-centered. Lately, we’ve had much stuff revealed about Pokemon beta versions. We learned more about Pikachu’s origins and the manga about Satoshi Tajiri revealed some previously-unknown early Pokemon designs... Because of this (added with the fact that my blog has recently hit 300 followers), I think it is good time to publish something that has been in my files for years and which you surely have never seen and which may feature some (usually minor and trivia) facts that are not widely known to Pokemon fans.
These are two Translation Glossaries that were provided to the official translators of the Pokemon anime. I got that years ago from my friend, who was among the people working on the Polish dub of Pokemon DP anime series (not really sure what year was that, but if the file metadata is right, then it must have been 2008). He asked me to be quiet about that, but years have passed, I have pretty much lost contact with that guy (I’m not even sure if he’s still into Pokemon but I believe he’s “beyond repair” like me). I also doubt that he’s still involved in making of Polish anime dubs (same goes for the studio that he cooperated with), so I think I’m not getting anyone in trouble for that anymore (but I’ll keep his identity secret, just to stay on the safe side).
As I said earlier, these glossaries were provided to the anime dubbers, but judging from their content, I believe they originally served the game localizers and then were forwarded to anime translators and amended with some anime content (which is rather incomplete, as opposed to game content).
The files may be downloaded from here: Glossary “A”: [Download Link] Glossary “B”: [Download Link]
I know that all this stuff may seem fishy to you - some random guy from Tumblr jumps off with some “insider info” all of sudden. But believe me, even I don’t have THAT much free time to fabricate such extensive and detailed files. Also, the info contained in those files is rather unspectacular compared to what you usually see in various “fake leaks”. But it’s up to you, whether you deem these real or fake. I know I’m not shitting anyone.
So, as you can see, those are two .xls files with the names of various characters and aspects of Pokemon series, divided into many sections and sheets.
The first glossary (which I named “A”, but the actual name is “Master TV Glossary”) lists all possible names from the first three generations (a couple of last sheets, likely added later, have some Gen IV stuff too) translated into the European languages that the games are available in (German, French, Spanish, Italian), as well as Dutch, Portuguese and Greek (transcribed to Latin alphabet). It generally doesn't use Japanese names, except in few cases. There is also another version of that glossary (an exact copy, just with all that multilingual stuff replaced by draft Polish translations) but since it doesn’t feature any additional interesting info, I didn’t upload that.
In this glossary, we can find a bunch of interesting things. I'll list the ones that are less-known or completely unknown to facts (the list may be incomplete, so I encourage you to seek through these files, maybe you'll find something interesting):
Not much interesting or new stuff in the "Places" section, but some of the anime-only locations (especially the Hoenn ones, listed on the very bottom) sound strange or unidentifiable.
"People" section is where it gets interesting. First of all, among the Red/Green in-game trade mons, there is a "Bob", which replaces Terry from the final game. I guess they realized their mistake that "Bob" isn't the best name for a Nidorina? Or maybe it has something to do with the Nidoran trade, where the Nidorans had switched genders compared to the Japanese version?
Just below the names of the Red/Green (English Red/Blue) trademons, we find names of what seem to be Japanese Blue in-game trade Pokemon (never available in English, as the trademons in English Red/Blue are based off Japanese Red/Green and not JP Blue) among the RGB characters. These names are as follows: Michelle, Wagster, Swanny, Fluffy, Mymo, Jimbo, Jenny, Shane and Valerie. I have been able to identify Wagster as Poliwag, Mymo as Mr. Mime and Michelle as Haunter (since the French localization of that name plays on the word cauchemar "nightmare"). The rest are up to debate. Maybe we can work them out?
Among the anime characters, we find some characters whose names were never told on-screen (such as Dick and Phillip, who had the same names in Japanese version, or Lacy, confirmed also by closed captions). Furthermore, Dr. Proctor is known as "Doc" (his Japanese name). Also, the order of listing of late-Kanto characters is unchronological (may it have something to do with the fact that some episodes were aired out of order after the Porygon incident in Japan)?
There are three Kanto anime characters, whom I can't identify - Billy, Barry and Bobby. Note that those could be Pokemon nicknames, but I have no freaking idea who are those.
Among the Gold/Silver game characters, we find two mysterious names - Kaz and Audrey. Who are those? I've no idea. I haven't found any references to them in the game data. Some cut beta characters?
Some of the GSC Trainer Classes have different names than in the final game, e.g. Guard (Officer), Thinker (Sage).
Some of the regular Trainers had their names changed to fit in the limitations of the Game Boy screen. Those changes are indicated in the file. Notable examples include Kimono Girls, whose names were shortened. Sayo was originally Sayoko, Kuni was Kunimi and Zuki was Hizuki (note that they're still different from their Japanese names).
Speaking of Kimono Girls, this file list an additional Kimono Girl named Kyoko. Could she be intended to be the Eevee user?
The RS character listing notes Mr. Stone twice - first as Mr. Stone (as he's usually called in-game) and secondly as Stanwick Stone. This is interesting for two reasons. Firstly, the name "Stanwick" was actually used in Polish dub (I remember it), although as his last name (consequently, Steven Stone was named as Steven Stanwick in Polish). Secondly, in ORAS he was known as Joseph Stone, so I guess "Stanwick" counts as scrapped material. His first name is localized to all four game languages.
The “B” glossary (PKMN DP TV Glossary) lists names from Generation IV (Diamond and Pearl), only game stuff. Unlike the first glossary, it does include Japanese names. However, it doesn't have all those international translation, just preliminary Polish translation (I believe that the other version of this glossary, with all that multilingual stuff like the first one does also exist, but my friend never sent me that [or he never had that]).
This glossary is much less extensive, but it also have some interesting trivia stuff.
Japanese name etymologies for human characters and some locations are listed, although the fields mentioning them are hidden.
In a commentary (probably left by original Japanese creators, as they're written in rather bad English), Byron is referred to as "Peter's father". I guess Peter is an English name suggested for Roark by the Japanese creators, but they didn't use it in the end.
The "Goods" sheet is when the fun begins. We have the names of the Secret Base decorations there, with the Japanese names of certain dolls seemingly revealing the beta Japanese names for those Pokemon!
Glameow Doll is リズミィドール (Rhythmie Doll)
Buneary Doll is ミミットドール (Mimitto Doll)
Magnezone Doll is デカコイルドール (Dekacoil Doll)
Drifloon Doll is フーセンドール (Fuusen Doll)
Happiny Doll is コラッキードール (Kolucky Doll)
Pachirisu Doll is パチリッスドール (Pachirissu [with a doubled "s"] Doll). Compare these Japanese names to their final versions and see that they’re different! In all other places of the glossary, all Pokemon names are just normal.
So yeah, that's all interesting stuff that I found in these two glossaries. Perhaps there's something more that I didn't notice. I hope that you enjoyed all those little trivia bits contained in them, even though they may not be that spectacular. I especially loved the fact that JP Blue trademons did get English nicknames. I can only assure you that I really got those from my friend and never edited or changed anything in them. But I'm not really sure how can I prove that, you basically have to believe my words. And I hope that you do.
Uh... that's a long entry. I hope you don't regret reading it. Please reblog and spread the word about these glossaries. They are really valuable material, especially to those who collect little-known Pokemon trivia facts, so I hope this entry gets popular. That's it for now. I don't plan more of such unusual updates (unless I find something worth it) and now we'll be back to our usual updates, with Pokemon character pictures.

A BlackBerry tablet seems like an odd purchase in 2017, but I did my homework and knew I wasn’t getting an iPad Air. I was getting this tablet for work – Spreadsheets, Word Docs and hopefully use the Bible app. The price was manageable and I figured that even if it turns out to be obsolete, I can still use it as a music player in our kitchen or something. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by this little tablet. The OS is brilliant. It’s such a joy and ease for multi-tasking. I was able to get my spreadsheets on it immediately and use it to check my messages and keep my calendar. The Bible app works flawlessly. Yes, the tablet is a little slow, but it’s a 2011 tablet, it’s to be expected. Yes, it doesn’t have a huge cache of apps to choose from, but the apps available are quality. I even found some fun games with great graphics. My music is fully loaded and the speakers are fantastic. I even tried taking a few pics and the quality is impressive! It’s not great for social media. Facebook is functional but not great. Instagram and Netflix simply won’t work on this tablet. You can go the Instagram website and at least view pictures, but that’s all. I did manage to get YouTube working with an browser I downloaded from BlackBerry World called “Frost”. Just go to the YouTube web page and it works great. It let me sign in, but I had to re-sign in every time I opened it. But when the videos play on YouTube, you can leave the app and the video keeps playing – very cool! I also have a BlackBerry Passport phone and it lets me sync with it and my Playbook to text and send BBMs. If you’re willing to put in a little work and do some research, you can get some current Android apps working on this thing. I have Evernote, Kindle, and even a version of Google Maps working. Again, do not expect this tablet to be everything the current tablets are, but if you want to spend very little and get a functional tablet that can serve a few purposes well, give this a look. The best things about this Tablet is the multi-tasking feature, the Messaging inbox, the speakers, the quality of the screen and the price. The negatives are a lack of apps and the general slowness. Hope this helps someone!

The Blackberry Playbook Tablet isn’t for those hardcore iPad and Android people. In fact, I would not recommend you buy this tablet if that is the kind of person you are. This tablet is almost like a beginning step into the world of tablets. You get plenty of memory on the tablet for a price lower than any other competitor offer, but there is good reason for that. For one, this tablet is older than these fancy tablets that we see nowadays, so the specs aren’t as hot. There is Bluetooth, but if you have an iPhone or Android or just anything that isn’t a Blackberry, your phone is not going to interact with this tablet other than giving it data. It CAN’T support file sharing like pictures or music through Bluetooth, but you can plug it into your computer to upload files onto it. Apps are not exact the strong suite of the Playbook either. It has a more limited version of the Blackberry World for the Blackberry phones, so don’t expect all the top of the line games and apps to be on here, through there are a few here and there. I would suggest this tablet to people who want to do some basic browsing on the web, check facebook, and just relax while on the go. I wouldn’t say it is a bad tablet for getting your work done, but I don’t think this is the tablet you should be relying on.

I love this thing!
—– (update) —— Tip to improve WiFi reception
The 2.4 Ghz WiFi antenna is in the upper left hand corner in landscape orientation. Wrapping your hand around this corner to hold Playbook, as I like to do, reduces WiFi signal strength a lot (a bar or two, factor of x100 or 20 dbm), which can be the difference between getting online or not when traveling. A simple trick to get good WiFi reception while still holding Playbook with the left hand is just flip the Playbook over so the ‘Blackberry’ logo is on top. This puts the most commonly used 2.4 Ghz WiFi antenna on the right.
Check out the ‘SANOXY Bluethooth Keyboard for iPad’. It’s a very inexpensive bluetooth keyboard that works fine with Playbook. ————— 7″ screen size is fine, sharp as a tack (viewed with reading lens of bifocals), bright and colorful, sound good, screen responsive to touch. Swipes easy to learn.
On browser homepage On my desktop browsers I have all my frequently visited links in a single custom .html file that I set as my homepage. To me a custom .html homepage is essential, it makes bouncing around the web fast and easy. I first tried copying my custom .html file into the ‘Document’ folder, but found it was not visible under ‘Document’ icon, but later going backdoor I got it installed as the browser homepage. Here’s the procedure:
Type into browser: file:///accounts/1000/shared (note 3 ///)
This brings up a simple file manager that allows you to see what files are in memory and even to launch them. In the Document folder was my custom html homepage file, which I had earlier copied over via USB. Tapping the filename loaded it into the browser, and holding my finger on it allowed me to copy the filename (via the copy box). Finally going into the browser settings I was able to paste the filename into the homepage window. Now every time I start the browser up comes my custom homepage.
Another neat trick is to have alternate start links for the browser on your home screen. This is done by clicking the star+ button and selecting add to home screen. For example I have a icon that will start the browser at the New York Times and another for local radar.
On media files MP3 files can simply be copied over and will play. Video files are more difficult. I have a library of captured .flv files and captured TV shows in .ts format, some of which I would like to put on the Playbook to view when out of WiFi range. However, neither of these file formats is supported directly on the Playbook. In principle there are two options: copy over the file and use an app that does on the fly conversion, or two, preconvert the file to a supported format (like .avi or .mp4). I experimented with both.
Xem thêm: LHS Thứ Sáu 22.11.2019: TIN VIỆC LÀM ĐÚNG – Linh mục Antôn Lê Ngọc Thanh, DCCT
There are several apps that claim to allow you to play .flv files on Playbook. I bought one for $0.99 and while it played .flv files, it was not clean (position slider did not work). I tried a couple of converter programs, which you run on your desktop before downloading. The best (by far) was Freemake Video Converter, not only is it free, but it’s simple to use and will convert a batch of files in one shot. I found it shrank the file size of .ts files, which are initially quite large, by roughly x3 and expanded the size of .flv files, which are initially small, by roughly x2. ————- update My tests show HD (1080p) videos taken by Playbook are quite large, about 6 Gbyte/hour. I found running them through Freemake Video Converter with NO change in resolution, file type, or video quality reduced file size to 2 Gbyte/hour, a factor of 3. Very handy if you want to keep lot of Playbook video stored on the Playbook. ————- Before converting a lot of files I did several tests comparing file formats and resolution. Freemake Video Converter makes it easy to reduce file size by lowering resolution. Tests with a sharp HD video showed no difference that I could see between 1080p and 720p on this small screen, so I decided to go with 720p. This resolution reduces .ts file size by a factor of 4. Reducing quality to TV level, still very watchable, reduces .ts file size by a factor of six.
Quick tests of various formats (avi, mp4, wmv) showed no significant difference in quality or file size and all seemed to play fine on Playbook, so I choose avi and began converting. This turned out to be a mistake. Not one of the first three converted TV shows (1 hr) would play correctly on Playbook. One refused to open and other two gave an error when the slider was moved, though all played correctly on my desktop. The only reason I can come up with is that Playbook has a problem with long files in avi format. My quick tests had been with short files. I then noticed that it says in the Blackberry document, ‘Supported Media Types on Blackberry Tablets’, avi. wmv, and mp4 are “supported”, but the “recommended video format for local playback” is mp4. So I reconverted the same three TV shows to mp4, also lowering the resolution one step to 720p, and now all played fine on Playbook. So my recommendation is stick with mp4, which is the format Playbook uses for its own videos, and reduce resolution to 720p (1280 x 720).
WiFi file transfer A neat trick to easily transfer files to Playbook from your computer over WiFi (no cable!) is to put a shortcut to Playbook on your Windows desktop. Set the ‘target’ of the shortcut to either the IP of your Playbook (found under About, Network) or the ‘Tablet Network Name’, which you can change (found under Storage and Sharing, Network properties) preceded by \ (two backslashes). When you click on the shortcut, Explorer opens and Playbook will appear as a Network device. Click the Media folder and you now have access to all Playbook media folders. For this to work the Playbook ‘WiFi Sharing’ setting (in Storage and Sharing) needs to be ON. Transfer rate is a little slower than with a USB cable (about half), but perfectly usable. (update) For some non-transfer operations, like file rename, I find USB more reliable than WiFi.
Html files, pdf files and File manager The Blackberry (so called) “File Manager” doesn’t show file details, and critically (for some weird reason) it hides local html files, though it does show local pdf files and allows you to open them. Real file managers are available in App World. A pretty good basic file manager (free) is ‘AIR Browser’ and better is ‘File Browser’ (a buck).
‘Air Browser’ and ‘File Browser’ provide a way to work with local html files, they show them and will open them in the browser. Once open in the browser local html files work well, all the internal and external links work. I find it frustrating that Blackberry doesn’t provide direct support for local html files, because I have a whole library of such files that I want to use on the Playbook.
Privacy A useful app for file privacy is ‘File Shield’ (buck). It provides a simple way (without passwords!) to hide videos, photos, and documents. In the app directories and individual files can be toggled between private and public. When set to private, files and directories effectively disappear, visible neither to Blackberry applications nor file managers.
Bugs and weirdnesses I bought just after OS 2 release and my OS upgraded to 2.0 when my new tablet initialized. Here are the bugs and weirdnesses I have found in a week or so of use.
— I initally wrote that my volume up/dn buttons had never worked and assumed it was a software bug because I read someone else reported volume buttons stopped working after an upgrade to OS 2.0. See comments where Ronald kindly set me straight. — Video application has a couple of drawbacks, one is no folders. In the pictures application if you organize picture files in subfolders, the opening screen shows only the subfolders. Not so with the video application. You can put videos in subfolders, but the video application still displays all your videos files on the opening screen. Primitive and inconsistent. Even more surprising the video application displays videos (with the formats it supports) regardless of the folder. Put a video in say, Voice folder, and it still shows up under Videos. — The video application provides two display views: Downloaded Videos and Recorded Videos. Videos uploading to the Camera directory are displayed in the Recorded Video view ordered by the file time stamp, so some separation of videos is possible. Videos in the Downloaded Videos view are ordered alphabetically, No other sort appears to be possible. — Document mode of the browser does not work right in portrait orientation (tested with New York Times articles) — a Hotmail text message in browser would not finger expand — Adobe’s pdf reader come installed on the Playbook, but it is not well integrated with the browser. When a pdf link in the browser is clicked, instead of just opening the file your only option is to download the file. — ‘Power Off’ is a built-in Blackberry app with just three power buttons that are the same as under the battery icon. ‘StandBy’ in the app does not put the tablet to sleep (as it should), it does a ReStart (locking up your machine for two minutes)! You have to wonder just how much testing Blackberry does when a trivial app like this does not work right after a major OS upgrade. — As I discussed above, it appears the video player has a problem with long .avi files, though this format claims to be “supported”. — With Blackberry emphasis on security it is surprising its OS does not directly provide support the hiding of files. — After a week of use the browser crashed (gray screen) requiring Playbook restart to fix it. — On my 2nd day with Playbook it crashed (it first refused to open files, then it hung with Shutting down splash screen displayed). There is a way to hardware reset the Playbook, equivalent to holding down the power button on Windows desktops, but I had to search the web to find it. It’s hold down three of top four buttons (vol up, vol dn and power) for 10-15 sec (or until you see red led). This restored my Playbook to good health with no loss of data. I took off one star (5 => 4) for the volume buttons not working (whoops, see comments) and for a system crash in two days of use.

I know it might sound crazy to some, but yesterday I bought my second Playbook at an excellent price. Last year we bought a Playbook hoping that Blackberry would release their BBM 10 software. Well, they didn’t but we are still using our Blackberry on a daily basis to surf the web and watch cartoons on Youtube. This is our main use for the Playbook, and although there are games and apps, we haven’t got enough time to spend playing whatever game is in fashion. My daughter, however, has got some nice apps to play and draw that can keep her busy. We also use the Playbook as a PDF reader and now with the second one we will use it to video chat when away from the family for work. At least this is our hope, since sadly we didn’t manage to do this with the Blackberry Z10, which I had to return. All in all, for the price we paid, we are satisfied. It charges quickly with the fast charging docking station and I am sure that we don’t use it to its full potential. We have a terrible computer at home and we haven’t downloaded music or videos onto the Playbook yet. I am sure that if we really needed Apps such as Skype or Whatsapp (or anything else that is in fashion these days) this would not be the tablet to buy, but these Apps can be installed on a smartphone very easily. All in all, a good tablet for web browsing and media playing if the budget is tight.

I love the Playbook. It is a handy size with an excellent fast browser supporting Flash video. It is sturdy and very well put together. Unfortunately apps are limited and you need a Blackberry smartphone at hand to enable the bluetooth ‘Bridge’ that links your emails, address book & calendar. We have been promised future compatability with Android apps that should greatly increase the appeal.
The Playbbok is also tethered by bluetooth to access your phone’s 3G network, useful if you are unable to obtain a wifi signal. There is therefore no need for a 3G variant making the Playbook a good value alternative to the i-Pad. The Playbook has HDMEI, USB and Fast Charge connectors but no memory expansion capability or SD card. I would thererfore recommend at least the 32MB version.
I did have a little difficulty getting the software to start-up but the free 90 days UK support line soon sorted the problem and it has been trouble free since. It is comforting to know that that there is help from Blackberry if you need it.

I’ve had the Playbook for around eighteen months now. It’s an absolute bargain compared to other tablets on the market. If you want to use your email, surf the web, take pictures or video, store documents, listen to music, or use a few simple commonplace apps, it’s brilliant. There is the problem that it was a commercial disaster for Blackberry and so they’ve given up on it really, which is a shame. I would suggest you download the origami browser – it is streets ahead of the native Blackberry browser. I don’t give a damn about having 101 applications or playing games. If you don’t care about that sort of thing either then this is a smashing buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Its no iPad and its not about the Apps

Lots of good reviews, but I suggest you ask yourself why you’re thinking of buying this. Better be becasue its cheap, because its not best.
Ok; its far from junk. Its nicely built, has a bright screen (great for showing off pictures & video) & a competent web-browser. I like the size and weight. BlackBerry Bridge is a useful feature if (like me) you’re one of a seemingly dwindling band of BB users.
But there are some signficant problems. Its slow to boot up (90 seonds maybe, unless you leave in stand-by and that drains the battery quickly), its slow to charge (I leave it overnight), bettery life is poor if you are using Bluetooth (maybe only a couple of hours), I find the touchscreen is often unresponsive, and the browser sometines spontanioulsy shuts down (in fairness the OS2 upgrade seems to have improved that). And its just awkward to get things done (try mailing a photo or file to a contact – virtually impossible with OS1, clunky and slow with OS2, unless you connect to a PC, which at least you can do, but is hardly the point surely). BB Bridge freezes & I’ve had to reinstall 3 times (tough to do by the way – if you’re interested, try to delete BB Bridge AND Bluetooth items on BOTH devises & start install from stratch). I watch streamed videos on my iPhone, but they won’t play on the Playbook on the same WiFi.
You get the picture… but the point is that iPad users I know report none of the above proplems…. To be clear, I’m Apple agnostic, but I’m just left wondering if RMI have put anywhere near enough development into the Playbook, or have just lost interest.
So I bought it becaue I’m a BB user and wanted a reasonably cheap tablet to find out if I would get use out if it. I do. And it somewhat pains me to say it, but my next one will be an iPad.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely piece of kit, but far too many issues with apps.

Pros – well built and sturdy, decent built in browser. good audio for a small tablet, plenty of built in storage, very acceptable screen resolution, wifi connects easily, OK cameras, fair price.
Cons – very few decent apps and most of those are way too expensive, android apps have to be sideloaded – fiddly and time consuming, RIM constantly promising upgrade to BB10 at some point in the future but it never seems to happen and now never will(see next paragraph).
This could and should have been almost a significant a tablet as the ipad but has been constantly let down by appalling planning and support from RIM. It’s such a pity because there is a lot to like about the Playbook and even 2 years after it’s launch it still performs almost as well as many newer and more expensive tablets. If only the OS could be properly upgraded. Sadly RIM have now decided NOT to upgrade the OS to BB10 and have therefore totally let down very many Playbook owners.
Paraphrasing the the words of my old headmaster – “with a little more effort RIM could do so much better”!
I have just added a fourth star, as I get used to it sideloading becomes easier. NO chance of a 5th star since RIM have reneged on their promises to upgrade to BB10.

Ask Answers: January 28th, 2021 (Part 2)
Here we’ve got asks that aren’t to ask a question but are just really nice messages. Thank you all for sending us such kind comments ;v;. It’s seriously heartwarming to see so many people having good experiences with the game. I don’t even know what to say to such sweet responses.
We’ll keep doing our best and thank you again to each and every one of you for giving Our Life a chance ❤!
Hello! I've been following this account and have been following the development of 'Our Life' for a few months now, and I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work and dedication you have put into the game. It astonishes me how much choice you have during the sequence of Our Life and am excited to play the full version now, I am downloading it as I write this message. I've had a great time seeing the demo transition into to the full game and just wanted to write two words. Thank you.
Anhhhhffbgdfbhujk!!! Congratulations on the release, I’m playing the game right now! Thank you all for your hard work and I can’t wait for the Step 3 DLC to come out, I’ll probably wait for the Step 3 DLC to come out to experience everything, but until then, I still have a lot to play. Thank you once again!
finished my first playthrough just now. it just felt so wholesome ??? 100/10 would do it again. i laughed. i cried. i got angry. i felt second-hand embrassment— i got so into it i was left in literal tears after getting my first ending. the art, the storyline, the music, and COVE HOLDEN– UGH IT WAS LITERAL PERFECTION ❤ THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT. THANK YOU FOR MAKING SUCH AN AMAZING GAME 🥺😭 this made my 2020 better, i can't wait for step 4 in 2021 ❤❤
So I was following you guys on itchio for years and uhh did I stay up til 6 am on a school night to finish the game? Yes. Did I sob my eyes out during step 3 as a 20 year old having doubts about life and adulthood? Absolutely. I can't form proper sentences right now due to lack of sleep but just wanted to say thank you for making it. I honestly feel lighter and I feel like it changed my views on future to be more optimistic... I can't wait to replay it! Thanks again!
I love how Our Life turned out!! I keep replaying it and can't stop squeaking and giggling!! Thank You for creating it ♥
okay i have actually fallen in love with cove and cannot WAIT to marry him 😭
Hi! I played through 'Our Life' yesterday and  I just wanna say how refreshing it was to be able to have Cove be 'high initiative' and also have so many opportunities to initiate affection from the player character! As a pretty flirtatious/affectionate person myself, I notice that a lot of VNs don't give players that agency, and affection can be kinda 'carrot on a stick' if that makes sense. You guys did an awesome job! I look forward to seeing if there are more of those moments in Step 3 & 4 :)
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the option to choose Cove's level of initiative in step 3! As much I love the option to choose I personally enjoy have the romanced character take the lead without my input so when I got to step 3 and had to option to make it so that Cove initiated affection without as much input from me I was really happy! You guys seriously added so much freedom in terms of choices, it's almost baffling that the only thing you have to pay for is optional DLC!
I absolutely loved everything about the game and I really want congratulate the team for making the game such a satisfying experience.
I look forward to step 4
❤️❤️❤️❤️
* and sorry for my bad English
Just finished my first play through and I loved it! I've been looking forward to the game and it definitely was worth the wait. Thank you all for your hard work and can't wait for the extra dlc!
Till then, hope you guys gets some well deserved rest🤗
Love you guys, thank you so much for your hard work. :)
Ok, so I just finished Our Life and, wow. I have never cried at a video game before, ever. Thank you so, so much! Its one of my favorites.
this isn't a question, but i just wanted to say how much i enjoyed our life 🥺 i've been patiently looking forward to the full game for a few months now, and i couldn't be happier with it! i've only played through it once so far but the outcomes of the choices i made were all so soft and wholesome 💗 i can tell that everyone who was involved really worked hard and you all did an incredible job! i can't wait to see what else is in store 👍
i’d just like to say how addictive our life is!!! i constantly played it during quarantine and now playing the full release is so amazing to me!! i love that i’m still discovering dialogue bits with different personalities and actions!!! i have to admit that i’ve been wishing the day to pass faster all day during school so i could go home and play again. mentally i’m not the healthiest and our life being released has boosted it up so much, thank you for creating such an amazing game!!!!!
Hey, I just wanna say I played our life two times and it still give me the same feelings. I was really looking forward to this game before it came out and I kept on replaying the demo. This game is such an amazing experience and I feel so happy playing it. I am not really a person good with words unfortunately but I do honestly love this more than anything in the world. Thank you for making it and I hope that you will continue to make more games like our life. This game really makes me happy and I can't thank you enough
Just wanted to say that Our Life really made me feel seen as an 18 year old trans man who's been struggling with change as of late and I can't thank you guys enough for it. I just finished the main story and currently released DLC's and gosh, I can really only say... woah. Just, woah. The messages are somehow exactly what I needed to hear right now, and they brought me a lot of comfort in this really weird and confusing time in my life. Can't wait to see what comes next in this lovely story <3
I am honestly in love with Our Life. The graphics, the soundtrack its just *chef's kiss* It was so worth the wait for it. I can't wait for step 4. Keep up the good work GB Patch!
good people i have just finished Our Life and let me say, it was beautiful. rarely have such non-fantastical moments (and even some fantastical moments) brought me to tears like this game has, and i don't even have the dlc (yet). i don't know how you did it but it felt like i was playing a slice of life anime. i had waited with baited breath to play this since i played the demo and my expectations were not just met but surpassed. from the bottom of my heart thank you for this game
I found the game by chance and I am so so glad I did. It’s so inclusive and made me feel so incredibly seen. Seeing that my gender identity and sexuality were possible just meant the absolute world to me. I’ve never seen something like this and it just made me so incredibly happy. Thank you for the absolutely amazing game and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Hello! I downloaded Our life earlier this week and I'm only now getting the chance to play it (Very busy and stressful week) I'm so excited to play and I wanna say thank you for making this adorable game!
I just finished my first playthrough of Our Life and I can't even express how much I love it. Cove is absolutely precious and has killed me several times, and the art and soundtrack is beautiful. I love all the small different choices. I'm very interested in the Derek and Baxter DLCs and the rest, can't wait!!!!!!
thank you for "Our Life Beginnings & Always" it has to be one of the best visual novels i ever have played and i just dont want it to end (i know it will, but damn it! i want to have a wedding night, have children and die of old age with cole! XD) when i play it it always makes me tear up (in a good way) and i am most definetly going to buy all the dlc that you make! thank you for this lovely game and all the work that went into it! (ps: i also loved "lake of voices" )
You guys are incredibly talented and im very proud of you all! You've really outdone yourselves w/ OL and i cant wait to see whats next to come for you all :)
i really love that you can be trans in Our Life! not a lot of games do that so i just wanted to say thank you!
Guuyyss!! I just wanna say! Thank you sm for the headscarf option in the MC creator! I especially loved that little detail where MC quickly slips the headscarf on before greeting Cove, I've never felt so immersed :'D Not that the rest of the game wasn't immersive btw, but since I wear my hijab most of the time that little addition really felt like something I would do! So thank you for that <3
I've been watching "Our Life: Beginnings & Always" development for quite some time, and I gotta say its wild to see it finally release. Its so unique in the way relationships work- even character creation. I've cried multiple times over this game while playing. I can't thank y'all enough for a game with these kind of mechanics, and representation. its rare I get to feel im really playing as myself in games like these. Everyones outdone themselves. this'll certainly be one I keep coming back to.
I've been following the development of Our Life from way back when the first demo dropped and it still blows my mind how many choices and customizations there are (love that update for the MC's bedroom btw!) and the fact that the game remembers them - it really feels like your very own coming of age story! I was so immersed I cried at the end :') Can't believe I experienced this game for free lol. I can't wait for future DLCs and Step 4! Good luck with all your upcoming projects dev team!!
Just wanted to say I love Our Life and I'm thankful it exists. Thank you so much! I love the little world you created and all the people in it. Especially Cove! This game makes me so happy!
Just poping in to say hi and that ilu guys ^^, remember to take care of yourselves!
Hi!! I just wanna thank you for creating such an amazing game. Our Life is one of the few dating sims I’ve found that let’s me be a male mc, it’s really hard to find dating sims that let me be gay. Our Life is my new favorite dating sim to just sit down and playthrough whenever I’m having a bad day so I just wanted to let y’all know how much I appreciate all you’ve done. 🤍
Fan from australia here
Just wanted to reach out and let you know how important this game has been to me. I came across it at a really rough time ( that I’m still going through ) and it’s been one of the things that’s driven me to get up and out of bed sometimes.
This game and cove both hold a very special place in my heart and I can’t wait to see more of him in the DLC and Step 4
Much love ♥️
I know this isnt exactly the main focus of the game, but i really love how we can customise the mc personality wise! This is the first time i've played a game like this where the mc actually does and says exactly what I would do and say in certain situations and its such a breath of fresh air!! It's also so cool how the other characters can pick up on it!!
Cove Holden saved 2020 (my 2020 anyways) I would die for him
Sorry for this being out of the blue, but after playing through Our Life I wanted to thank you for the experience. I don’t know if I’ve ever played a game that has made me cry happy tears TWICE lol. It’s beautiful, scenic, inclusive, and absolutely amazing..have a great rest of 2020 and I honestly cannot wait for the rest of it :,) (ps. The ending song is stuck in my head)
I think you guys might've ruined visual novels for me forever. I'm not sure I'll be able to play another without comparing it to Our Life and I know if I do that I'll be disappointed every time because of how amazing it is. I bought the DLCs before playing the base game it's one of the best impulsive purchases I've ever made
Thank you so much for making our life! It's my favorite visual novel ever and I just can't articulate how much being able to just be honest with my responses instead of going for whatever would make the love interest happy means to me? I reccomended it to evry friend I have that plays visual novels because this is the best one I've ever played!
Just wanted to say that I absolutely adore this game! The childhood friends tropes is my favorite thing and this game delivers! Cove is the sweetest thing, infact all the boys are good boys. Super excited for all upcoming dlcs!
Hi, I just want to thank you for making such an amazing game like Our Life. Tbh, I was following the game’s development for a while, but me and my family moved away from my childhood town just a few days before release, so I really connected to this game. You all did amazing!
hey just wanted to know that i completely loved ol: b&a and it was so good and love cove more than i’ve liked any fictional character, it’s now my comfort media. thank you so much
hi i just wanna say i really enjoyed all of the representation in our life b&a! there were characters with a lot of different body shapes, pic characters, lgbtq+ characters, and you get to choose your own pronouns and sexuality!!! so tysm!!
This isn't a question, I just wanted to say that Our Life is incredible. Ever since I finished it, I've been looking for other visual novels to play so I don't play OL so often that I start memorizing the lines before all the DLC comes out, but I keep coming back to it. It's really one of a kind, I think you all ruined other visual novels for me because I haven't enjoyed another VN like I have this one since I read it ❤.
i think our life b&a is the first game where i felt like cove loved me, not the character i play as which is really nice for someone with kinda low self esteem so THANK YOU
I’ve been playing Our Life practically nonstop since yesterday. I just want everyone who worked on it to know how much the LGBTQ inclusivity means to me. As a closeted trans ace guy in an unsupportive household, I can’t emphasize how much of a comfort this game has been to me. Everything about it is so wholesome and heartfelt. I’m excited to see what other games you make in the future 💙
- A demibiromantic ace transgender man who may or may not have cried over the option to be myself in a game for the first time ever
Csn i just say i really appreciate how you handled MC deciding to use they/them at different stages. Mainly because alot of games don't pay much attention to the body the mc was assigned at birth if they player chooses nonbinary like it does with male/female. And it was just nice to be able to play an mc who just thought gender was kinda 'meh' for them but still felt good about the body they were born with (like myself). I guesd it boils down I'm really appreciative of the hard work it must've taken for you to make all those options possible & still have them matter.
I just wanted to thank you all for Our Life. My mental health hasn't been in a good place recently and it has become my favorite form of escapism/way to cheer up. It's idyllic setting and fantastic characters are such a good way to wind down, I love it. Also, I've been dreading 2021 due to classes starting and general stress, but the DLC and your next project have given me something to actually look forward to :). I'm so excited for them and now I actually have a reason to be happy that it's 2021. Sorry if this message is a bit weird, I just wanted to thank the team for their hard work and for creating something so incredible <3
I've gotta say this is one of the most repayable games I've ever played, if not the most. Usually after i do a playthrough or two of a game i have to wait awhile before playing again otherwise it feels stale. But i haven't had that problem with our life because of the sheer ammount of player agency. Everyone who works on tbe game should feel incredibly proud of themselves because you've created something amazing.
I just wanted to say thank you for Our Life. I'm sure you get this a lot, but it really pulled me out of a mentally tough spot in my life. So thank you.
who needs therapy when you have our life: beginnings and always? haha no but seriously this game is my comfort game, and even though i can’t join your patreon at the moment please know i am always supporting you and i am so excited to see everything you have in store! everyone who works on the games is so so talented
All DLCs have nice content. 😡😡
And I love them all!!💗💗💗💖💖💖💕💕💕

4 Super Mario Bros Download for PC – Information
About the gameplay: Super Mario Bros
I guess each one of you must be aware of how, when and where the story of the game goes. The Super Mario Bros were developed and published by Nintendo in the year 1985.
This game was released as a successor to their best selling game known as Mario Bros, which was released in the year 1983.
The players are supposed to control Mario or maybe his brother Luigi (while playing in a multiplayer environment) and travel the world to find and save the princess.
During their journey in the Mushroom Kingdom, the players need to recuse the Princess Toadstool from the Browser (the antagonist).
Furthermore, during the whole gameplay, the players are supposed to dodge a lot of hurdles and have to conquer some of the enemies too.
On the bright side, Super Mario Bros also give the users with different power-ups as super mushroom, fire, and Starman.
If the player completes a level, he’ll be given with an extra life in the next level.
Super Mario Bros successfully managed to get its entry in the list of most successful and intuitive games of all times.
Additionally, Mario and Luigi need to collect several coins that are scattered randomly at different spots.
The game ends when the player gets defeated three or more times in a row either by the enemies or if the timer goes off.
For each defeat, the user loses one life at a time. Apart from that, if there is any power up taken up by the player, then the first thing that he’ll lose when defeated is his power.
Then comes the life. So it makes even more interesting.
Also, the enemies can be conquered using the power-ups, or by jumping on them.
Koopa Troopa retracts inside its shell when the player jumps on it, and the other hand Goomba gets flattened and therefore defeated.
The overall gameplay is divided into 8 worlds with 4 stages per world.
The final world will take you to the castle where you need to fight with the browser to rescue the princess.

As the game was released way back in the year 1985, because of its low graphical and processing requirement the game file size is small.
And for that reason, some of the websites have converted into a playable format.
This playable format can be accessed from their website, and the users can play Super Mario Bros without any hassle.
But there is a lot of downsides to it; one being, the constant availability of fast internet is needed to stream the game, and the other is the frame drops.
So, this method may or may not work at best for you. You still can try searching for Super Mario Bros download for pc and find some links to the flash Super Mario Bros game via Google.
The next method would surely surprise you. If I say, you can install (sort of) the Super
Mario Bros on your PC? Well, yes you can. Sure, there is no official program or app made to be installed on the Windows or Mac versions of PC but, you can get an.NES emulator.
Super Mario Bros Download for PC – via NES Emulator

How to play Super Mario Bros?
So far so good, the game will work smoothly with the .NES Emulator. There are still some things that you need to understand before you can enjoy the game at its limits.
First being, the controller setup.
Before going forward and jumping right into the gameplay, make sure that the controls are set in the .NES emulator.
Make sure to go to the options menu and check for the controller configuration. If you have an additional gaming controller, you can plug it in your PC and start playing.
Furthermore, if you don’t own a gaming controller, then you need to make sure that every key on your keyboard must be assigned to the controls that are needed for the gameplay.
Secondly, the graphics and fullscreen settings must be adjusted accordingly to make it easier for you to render the game properly.
Lastly, the sound settings may also need some tweaks. Sometimes, the default speakers fail to produce the sounds available during the running gameplay.
Make sure to tweak the sound settings properly to enjoy the game completely.

I had a great but full week. There are many fixes and improvements to different systems.
import folder file presentation fixed
Last week's importer unification introduced a bug in how import folders publish their files to pages and popup buttons. The files imported ok, but the pages and buttons got a single invalid entry that would then stop the session saving to db correctly.
This problem is fixed. Import folders present to buttons and pages correctly again. I have also updated my session saving code to recover from bad pages more gracefully in future.
If you have any 'poisoned' sessions still open in v305 that refuse to save, please try closing any import-folder-related pages and try again. I apologise for the inconvenience here.
subscriptions can now publish to page
Like import folders, subscriptions can now publish their files to a page. If the page does not exist, it will be created (named after the sub), and if a so-named page already exists, the new files will be appended to it. You can also turn off the file popup buttons, and even turn off all publishing.
Furthermore, you can now tell subscriptions to publish each individual query as separate buttons or pages (named 'subscription_name: query_text').
This is all in the usual edit subscription dialog, as three new checkboxes.
file import status improvements
The file import status window (launched by clicking the icon button on any file download context) has a bunch of little improvements--its menus are a little neater, and some of the behind-the-scenes code is cleaner--and it can also now 'show files in a new page' on any new imports! Just select some 'successful/already in db/deleted' results that are newish--actioned maybe since v303 or so--and you'll get a new menu entry that lets you open the resulting files in a new page, and it even works from the manage subscriptions dialogs!
This is neat if you want to revisit some files you missed or had set not to publish to ui earlier. It'll happily show trashed/deleted files (the latter with blank thumbnails) as well, which is a little odd but still maybe useful so I haven't taken it out.
Some parser work
I have added a pixiv parser that pulls the raw japanese (i.e. non-romaji) tags in lieu of the available translations. It is not the default for pixiv, but if you would like to try it out, update the parser 'link' for 'pixiv file page' URLs to 'pixiv single file page parser - japanese tags' in the network->manage url class links dialog.
The 4chan thread parser has fixed 'if there is no subject, use the first line of the comments for page name' parsing.
Newgrounds have changed how their galleries work (it is all dynamic javascript stuff now), which has broken the old parser. Thankfully, I happen to be working on a new gallery parsing engine, so I hope to have this back in the coming weeks as the other gallery stuff rolls out. But for now, Newgrounds is removed from the downloader selection ui, and I recommend you pause and Newgrounds subscriptions.
I've also done some advanced stuff to improve how pixiv and twitter post urls are checked in the db for 'already in db/deleted' status, which is another step towards manga page (and other multi-file Post URL) support. The client's "have I seen this URL before" logic is becoming significantly more sophisticated, and it can now be less of a big deal if two files have the same URL.
I also discovered that pixiv are rolling out a new ui design for some (likely older) usernames. If your pixiv downloader suddenly stops working at all, it may be that you have been selected to beta this new design. The solution for now is to make a newer throwaway pixiv account and use that instead. I hope to have a proper fix in here (and for tag searches) as I roll out the gallery downloader overhaul work.
duplicate system can now sync urls
The duplicate filter merge options now have a dropdown choice to set if 'known urls' should be copied from 'worse to better' and 'both ways'! If you are into the duplicate system, please set these how you prefer--I recommend 'worse to better' for 'this file is better' and 'both ways' for 'both files are the same'.
I've also done some layout/presentation work on that options panel. In an attempt to make it less confusing, obscure merge choices are now disabled for common operations, but please let me know if your normal workflow is now affected. Weird stuff like 'delete both files' is still on for 'custom' actions.
open in web browser
All users will now see share->open->in web browser off the thumbnail right-click menu, which can be useful if you want to use a browser plug-in to do some IQDB-type source-lookup. Unfortunately, the command can be a little buggy unless you set a specific browser path at the new option under options->files and trash.
This new browser path option will be used for all link-launching in the client as well, so if you have had trouble with that, please set this up and let me know if it works better for you.
misc
All file queries that involve multiple tags or that involve at least one tag and simple system predicates now run much faster!
The new (x/y) import page name progress status will now update reliably on any change!
Advanced users can now test specific urls for url class recognition in the network->manage url classes dialog!
full list
the file import status list now has 'open selected import files in a new page', which should show up where it is possible. this is a bit prototype and ugly--it'll show _all_ files, including in-trash and permanently deleted (which will show up with the hydrus thumbnail)
the file import status list now prefixes the already in db/deleted notes with 'url' or the hash type that lead to the recognition
these redundant/deleted notes now also propagate up from 'during import' recognition phase as well
the 'delete seeds of type x' entries on the file import status button's right-click menu are now split into three smaller individual tyes and are more explicit about exactly which status types they will remove
like import folders, subscriptions can now optionally publish their files to pages as well as popup buttons. also, subscriptions can optionally publish their files separately for each query instead of all merged together
sped up multiple tag queries significantly
sped up simple (file size, mime, etc...) system predicate queries that also include a tag/namespace/wildcard predicate significantly
added a pixiv parser that pulls the japanese tags to the defaults--users can switch to this if they prefer under network->manage url class links
fixed the 4chan parser to get part of comment as backup subject/page title
removed the 'newgrounds' entry from the normal gallery page creation ui, as the basic gallery parser no longer works due to a dynamic loading change on their end. I hope to have it back with the new gallery parsing system I will soon be writing
the edit url classes panel now has a little text box to put in example urls and see which class, if any, that they match to
improved layout of edit url class links panel
all url types are now displayable in the media viewer--only post url classes are default on
the new (x/y) import page page_name progress count is now updated on all alterations to this value (previously, this was not updating when a user interacted with the import queue, only when the natural downloader loop cycled)
added 'can produce multiple files' option to post url url classes, which informs client url-checking logic whether the url can be relied upon for 'already in db/deleted' calculations
the pixiv file page url class now has 'can produce multiple files' checked, meaning some bad pixiv url association logic due to other sites referencing it as a source url is now fixed
added a 'twitter tweet' url class, which is also a 'can produce multiple files' post url
added a 'sync known urls?' action choice to the duplicate merge options panel, which governs whether urls should be copied from worse to better or in both directions
gave the edit duplicate merge options panel a layout pass
the edit duplicate merge options panel will now disable pointless/over-complicated choices on non-custom actions, let me know if this is a pain for your workflow
added a 'manual' web browser path override to the 'files and trash' options panel, which fixes the new share->open->in web browser option for Windows and also fixes some #anchor link propagation
consolidated all URL/Path web browser launching code to one location
'open in web browser' is now available for non-advanced_mode users and the 'open' submenu of the share menu is available in the preview window and the media viewer
fixed a bug that was causing import folders to publish incorrect file identifiers, which was poisoning popup buttons and import page destinations
gui sessions that fail to load a page will recover and continue to attempt loading the rest of their pages. some popups detailing the page's serialised data and error will be presented
gui sessions that fail to save a page will recover and continue to attempt saving the rest of their pages. some popups detailsing the page's rough info and error will be presented
the core controller inside all media pages will now present itself in a more beautiful way when asked to dump itself to a log (which should beautify the above save error a bit)
wrote a subsidiary database->check->just repo update files that tests integrity of only repository update files
fixed an issue where default tag import options were sometimes not being saved from the new dialog in the networking menu
wrote a couple of layers of bad tag protection to help the new downloader deal with some occasional bad output from the old downloader
network jobs can now reattempt connection attempts up to three times on POST requests (if you ever got inexplicable immediate 'could not connect' errors on repository uploads, this should now be fixed)
replaced some archaic misc old import code with the new system, cleaning up a bunch of stuff and making space for further refactoring along the way
fixed tags blacklist not being inherited in the old (through options dialog) system
improved some invalid domain error handling
fixed an animation update issue that would pause naturally updating controls on non-main-gui frames when there were no regular media pages open on the main gui
added a BUGFIX option to 'files and trash' option page to override the default temp path for almost all client temp path requests
the minimum value for the 'vacuum period' in maintenance and processing options is now 28 days. the control also has a little explanatory tooltip
the 'try to auto-link url classes and parsers' function now always preferences parsers alphabetically
fixed a typo in the string transformations prettyfication code that incorrectly summarised 'take the last x characters' as the opposite
misc fix to file hash generation and status checking code
the 'export tags to .txt files' checkbox on the export files panel will no longer bother you with a dialog as you uncheck it
wrote some code to make it easier and more fool-proof to update the domain manager with new url classes and parsers on my end
improved some popup message manager ok-to-alter-ui logic when the main ui is minimised and so on
fixed some potential crash conditions (affecting linux mostly, seems like) in the service credential testing and access key fetching ui code
fixed a bug when 'stopping' a gallery parse during a long error pause (like when it holds on '404')
sped up some old set intersection code
some import file presentation refactoring
some url content application pipeline cleanup
misc cleanup
next week
I got splatted with hydrus reports and work this week and didn't have time to knuckle down on a multi-thread watcher, so I'd like to get back to that.
In all the rush, I also fell way behind on replying to messages this week. If I can, I would like to catch up to everything on Saturday. If you are waiting on a reply, please hang in there.

…And back the Kickstarter!
Using the classic Aeon Trinity motto: Hope, Sacrifice, Unity!
Reason #1: HOPE
We’re not talking about a shiny-happy ending to every game here, but that one of the base precepts of the Continuum is that efforts produce results. It’s a continuum of settings with some of them being very dark indeed, and others much more about heroic actions delivering heroic and positive results. And then, of course, you can decide at your table how far to take things beyond how we present them.
Your group of players may decide to shoot Otha Herzog in the head and put an end to his visions of the future – possibly leaving Earth with no fore-warning of dire events, while another table might be working with ISRA to arrive at the right time and the right place with the right equipment. That’s not just an external thing players do, but it’s built in to the Trinity Continuum to allow those choices and for those settings to exist with all the other ones in the Continuum.
This, to me, is what Hope means in the Trinity Continuum, a chance that in the nigh-infinite universes that could exist in the Continuum, human potential can reach untold heights and forge a new future.
On a Kickstarter level, we have hope that this KS is indicative of the interest that folks have towards not just these first two books, the Trinity Continuum Core book and the Trinity Continuum: Aeon book and all the additional projects we can do with them, but also for the additional settings we could do next. Both the two known ones, Aberrant and Adventure!, and also the many, many additional settings that can be part of the Continuum.
EX3‘s Eska of the Seven Blades illustrated by Mel Uran
    Reason #2: SACRIFICE
Again, your acts have consequences in the Trinity Continuum, and while it is set up as mentioned above to provide results when those actions are taken, sometimes those results have a cost. Which makes sense since we want all of the Trinity Continuum settings to allow dramatic resolutions no matter how light or dark they are.
Beyond the setting depth that Sacrifice adds, we also have game play systems within the Storypath System that function by the players using, and even encouraging, the bad things that happen to them so that they gain bonuses or advantages to further the storyline. This can be very meta-mechanical, or very story-based, or somewhere in between, but the important thing is that there are opportunities for meaningful game play even when you fail a roll.
On a Kickstarter level, a lot of folks, including some of the devs, have had to sacrifice a fair bit of patience waiting for their favorite game to come back. But since what we really don’t want are folks sacrificing cash, good will, or their excitement for the return of the Trinity Universe with our Trinity Continuum reboot during this Kickstarter campaign, we made sure that the sacrifice of time and effort was ours before the KS was good to go.
Which means that even though it took time to create what we wanted, we now have a fantastic and flexible game system that powers all of the possible Trinity Continuum settings, and both the Trinity Continuum Core and the Trinity Continuum: Aeon books are essentially done.  Don’t worry, we’ll use backer feedback to polish, tweak a few areas, and clarify a few things, but the heavy lifting earlier has paid off now and the books should easily beat the “estimated delivery” KS dates.
(He says knocking on all the wood in the house, gluing broken mirrors back together, and throwing whole shakers of salt over both shoulders just in case.)
Beast Players Guide art by Andrew Trabbold
    Reason #3: UNITY
In the Trinity Continuum, there are a ton of characters that could easily be described as a lone-wolf, as a one-person army, as a force of one. Yet, when they work with other characters, the whole is so much greater than the sum of the parts. The organizations, from two-person team-ups to international Agencies or Orders, exist in the setting itself, not just to codify the player characters. Particularly in the Trinity Continuum: Aeon setting, they are absolutely needed to enable mankind to face the challenges of rebuilding after the Aberrant War and taking up the exploration of the universe.
Our rules reflect this as well, from how Psion powers work all the way to the Initiative system encouraging party teamwork and strategy.
On a meta-level, the Trinity Continuum may well also be greater than any individual setting within it, but regardless of whether that is how folks see it, the Continuum is designed so that no matter what happens in any given setting it remains a part of the Continuum.
The example we use in talking this over is including the City of Super-Scientific Gorillas as part of Adventure! Something excellently pulp-y like that, somewhere in the jungles or in the hollow Earth, sounds fantastic. But how would that fit into a modern day Trinity Continuum Core story? It wouldn’t have to. There might be clues that something like that once existed, but now that whole place exists essentially “out of phase” with the modern day. You could get there. but a commercial airline flying over isn’t going to see it.
This also means that no individual table’s storyline is going to contradict the history and events presented in any setting published by Onyx Path. All worlds are true and can fit in the Trinity Continuum.
On a Kickstarter level, we tried to set up the KS rewards and stretch goals to give value to backers no matter whether they are new to Trinity or fans of the Trinity Universe already. Whether they did their gaming with PDFs or with printed books. Whether they loved the original Trinity(Aeon) setting, or were fans of Aberrant or Adventure! far more than our science fiction game.
It should be said, and I think our KS Manager Jumpin’ James Bell has already touched on this, that the Trinity Continuum Core is going to be needed to run Trinity Continuum: Aberrant and Trinity Continuum: Adventure!, so even if you’re waiting for them, now is the time to come together in Unity with your fellow Trinity fans and pledge to get the TC Core book to help this KS strive for greater goals.
We hope for, and really need, a Unity of our community behind this Kickstarter and are thrilled to see how much there already is. I mention this below, but seriously, now is the time to get the word out! With only a few days to go, let’s drive this mighty ship forward with our mental energies (for Psion powers, we have the internet) and tell everyone you once knew who enjoyed the first iteration that there’s a new and exciting version that they can get in on!
Ring of Spiragos art by Brian LeBlanc
And with that, I think it should be obvious how apt our tagline is:
Many Worlds, One Path!
    BLURBS!
KICKSTARTER:
The Trinity Continuum Kickstarter is roaring towards the finish line on Thursday in a psychokinetic burst of energy! And yet, there are still a lot of fans of the original releases out there who aren’t connected to our current incarnation, so please, if you know a fan from back in the day: LET THEM KNOW THIS KS IS HAPPENING!
So far, we’ve passed 300% of our funding goal, over 1600 backers, and we’ve gone through sixteen Stretch Goals including VARGs, new Noetic Biotech, new Cyberware, new Espionage-Related Hardtech, and Aberrants and their cults, and a section on how to play Psions in the modern day core rulebook setting will be added to the AEon AExpansion, a Trinity Continuum: Aeon novella entitled “Dawn“, a scenario called “Caper, Incorporated” has been added to the In Media Res scenario collection PDF for the Trinity Continuum Core, and backers will be able to download the Trinity Core Dice for the Onyx Dice Rolling App.
We’ve also now grown the bundle of first edition PDFs to 15 and with the $15 buy-in that means backers get this bundle for $1 per PDF!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200664283/trinity-continuum-aeon-rpg
Trinity Continuum: Aeon, is our reboot of the classic Trinity (Aeon) game, and Trinity Continuum: Core is the core book that all of our Trinity Continuum game lines will spin off from. Both books will be a part of this Kickstarter and backers have already received the first two quarters of the Trinity Continuum: Core text, with more to come. James Bell, our Kickstarter Manager, has been keeping this KS hopping, so we hope you’ll check it out!
Our next Kickstarter is slated to be EX3‘s Dragon-Blooded.
As we try and find ways to enable our community to more easily play our games, the Onyx Dice Rolling App is now live! Our dev team has been doing updates since we launched based on the excellent use-case comments by our community, and this thing is both rolling and rocking!
Last week the devs are added a whole bunch of new game lines’ dice and rolling bg’s and got caught by a bug Apple needed to fix, so be sure to update your app and soon that should be fixed.
There’s been tweaks to all elements of the UI, you can now preview every die type in the store, and you can use multiple die types per roll! Here are the links for the Apple and Android versions:

Changing Ways is an in-depth look at what it means to be a werewolf, both on a personal level and as part of a pack. It digs deep into what it feels like to have bones re-knit after breaking, the range of senses available across all forms, and the sudden heady rush of the Gifts and Rites bestowed by spirits. It also provides a look at what life is like for lupus and metis werewolves, characters who have had experiences alien to any person. It shows the many ways that werewolves organize in packs, and how those packs are designed as groups of warriors, rather than aligned to the behavior of wolves.
Changing Ways contains:
• A detailed look at what it means to grow up as a lupus or metis werewolf, and how that colors a character’s perspective.
• More information on what it feels like to be a werewolf, a creature that changes in both body and mind.
• Frameworks and organizations for packs, along with new tactics and systems for forging the pack as part of play.

Coming this Wednesday as an Advance PDF on DTRPG, we reveal The Secret of Vinsen’s Tomb, a Jumpstart adventure for Pugmire. (And yes, there will be a physical book PoD version coming soon). www.drivethrurpg.com/product/232337/The-Secrets-of-Vinsens-Tomb–A-Pugmire-Jumpstart
A cat living in Pugmire disappears, but neither the police dogs nor the cats of the Cat Quarter know why. When zombies attack the heroes, however, all signs point to an invasion by the Monarchies of Mau. But how does this intrigue tie into the lost tomb of the first king of Pugmire?
The Secret of Vinsen’s Tomb is a Pugmire story for three to six characters. This jumpstart contains all the rules and characters you need to play — just grab some dice and go! You can also use this adventure with the full version of Pugmire.
The Secret of Vinsen’s Tomb contains:
• An evocative and mysterious setting that’s both family friendly and deep enough to create compelling stories.
• A summary of Pugmire’s traditional fantasy rules system. It’s designed for streamlined play, with an emphasis on cooperation and action over competition and violence.
• A complete adventure for a Guide to run for three to six players. Also useful for Guides running a full Pugmire game of first or second level characters!
• Six ready-to-play characters, so you can jump into the action.
Can your good dogs discover the secret of Vinsen’s Tomb?
Also releasing this Wednesday on DTRPG is the physical book PoD version of the Pugmire Core Rulebook itself!
We unveil Vampire: The Requiem 2e‘s Half-Damned as PDF and PoD versions on DTRPG.com this Wednesday!

At last, one of the most legendary of Kindred will share his personal journal with you! V20 Beckett’s Jyhad Diary goes on sale in PDF and PoD versions on DTRPG.com! http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/225322/V20-Becketts-Jyhad-Diary
It’s ever been a loaded word among vampires. Jyhad is in force everywhere from lofty, perfumed Elysium to cloying, smoke-filled blood feasts. Jyhad’s the eternal game played by elders, Methuselahs, and worse — it’s the agenda of beings so utterly beyond humanity, one such as yourself could scarcely understand its movements.
Luckily for you, you’ve picked up a copy of my diary. With my help you may just take a step on the first rung of understanding. Information worth having is information you must earn through blood, and oh, how I’ve bled for what’s contained within these pages.
— Beckett
Beckett’s Jyhad Diary serves as the definitive book of setting and plot for Vampire: The Masquerade, containing 30 chapters spanning different geographical regions, encountering vampires of every clan, profiling obscure and profound segments of the mythology, and providing countless story hooks on every page.
Masterfully written by the likes of Neall Raemonn Price, Joshua Alan Doetsch, Myranda Sarro, Steffie de Vaan, Malcolm Sheppard, Alan Alexander, Renee Knipe, and Matthew Dawkins, Beckett’s Jyhad Diary is as fascinating to read as to use for your game Chronicles.
          A Land Where Legends Walk
Drawing enthusiastically on Greek mythology, the revised and re-imagined Scarred Lands nonetheless retains its place as a modern fantasy RPG setting. This is a world shaped by gods and monsters, and only the greatest of heroes can expect to be counted among them. The most populous continent of Scarn, Ghelspad, plays host to vast unexplored regions, hides unsolved riddles from ancient cultures, and taunts adventures with the promise of undiscovered riches hidden among the ruins of older civilizations.
Yet the myths of the Scarred Lands are relatively recent events. The effects of the Titanswar still ripple through the world, and the heroines and villains of many of these stories are part of living memory, if not still living.
The Award-Winning Fantasy Setting Returns
Scarred Lands has been a favorite fantasy setting since the release of the Creature Collection for the d20 System in 2000. In subsequent years, over 40 titles were published for Scarred Lands, making it one of the most fully supported fantasy RPG settings ever and the premiere product line of Sword & Sorcery Studios.
Available in both 5th Edition and Pathfinder compatible versions! PDF and PoD formats available NOW!

TODAY’S REASON TO CELEBRATE: It’s George Harrison’s birthday today, and while he is in fact now dead, we’re sure glad he was around to add his creative magic to the Traveling Wilbury‘s and some other, less important, earlier musical group that did a couple of records back when music was only available as records.

Adobe Muse: The Little Known Software That Could Change How You Build Websites
Adobe Muse is a wonderful tool for web development, but few people seem to know that it exists. Muse offers a huge array of web development tools, free of charge, with the ability to add paid, modifiable widgets. Should you be using this software? Let’s take a look.
Tumblr media
----------------------------------------------------------------- A Crash Course on the History of Web Design -----------------------------------------------------------------
As the Internet grows ever larger, web development becomes more accessible and customizable. It used to be that you couldn’t get by without knowing HTML, creating ugly, bare-bones web pages like this.
Tumblr media
That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the idea. We eventually learned to use tables, making our web pages look a little less like dog food. These structures were fragile though, and you had to be an expert to make them work without ruining everything.
youtube
Then several tools hit the scene in the late 90s/early 2000s, including Flash, Javascript, and Cascading Style Sheets, (and more backend stuff, but we won’t get into that) and our web pages began to look more like how we wanted them to look, and less like Craigslist ads.  But this still required careful study. You couldn’t just sit down and make a website without reading a few books on it first.
Tumblr media
Nowadays, we have template websites that claim to do a lot of work for you, and those may be your style. But the disadvantages of these sites and of this type of software is that it can all look very same-y.
---------------------------------- Muse Enters the Scene ----------------------------------
Why so few people know about this software still baffles me. On one hand, it can be very costly, at something like $15 a month ($30 a month if you’re getting the suite and are a student- $30 for everything Adobe offers otherwise) and I don’t remember very many people talking about Dreamweaver either.  On the other hand, Muse is extremely intuitive, and if you want to make something you can feel like you designed and put on the web yourself, there’s really no better option than Muse. So, to recap, Muse is probably best for you if you:
Have the money to afford a monthly fee, or are a student and want PhotoShop, InDesign, Premiere, etc.
Want to do it yourself
Don’t want to learn markup language (HTML & CSS) yourself
Have design skills, and want to show them off
If any or all of the above sound like you, then let’s get started.
--------------------------------------------- How to Turn On Your Computer ---------------------------------------------
One thing I’m not going to do is show you where to get Adobe’s suite, how to buy it, etc. This is not a sponsored post. I’m just a guy who happens to like Adobe programs.
So we can skip steps 1-17: getting a computer that can run Adobe, starting a bank account, putting money into said bank account, paying for an Internet connection, going to Adobe, buying Adobe programs, spending two days downloading Adobe’s suite, and so forth. What I can tell you is how Muse works, and how to get started. One fair warning is that Adobe programs can be pretty hard on computers, so you want to make sure you don’t have a zillion browser tabs open, unless your computer is a tank, like mine.
Tumblr media
Meta. Adobe open screens all look fairly similar, but as soon as you open it, depending on your version, you’ll probably be treated to something fairly simple. You may see a popup asking if you need tutorial help, alongside a screen that shows you that you have no open projects. Here’s what mine looks like.
Tumblr media
From here, you just need to create a new document. For that, you click file>new site... or hit ctrl+n/cmd+n, as you would with most programs (or just click on that “Create New” button.
Tumblr media
The default settings should be fine for this, unless you’re already planning out your next project. Click “OK” (Note to past self: YOUR default settings weren’t fine. You are bad and you should feel bad).
Tumblr media
This is really nowhere near as complicated as it seems. What we’re looking at here is called your Plan View. It gives a quick overview of all pages associated with your website, allowing you to easily move between them and get a kind of bird’s eye view.
Many sites have a sort of “template” that stays constant throughout all subdomains. It associates all pages together, creating a kind of unified experience. Also, moving to a completely different design between pages would be very jarring.
This is your “Master” page. You can have multiple Masters assigned to multiple pages (a “B Master”, for example). If you hover over the blank box at the bottom, you’ll see plus signs appear. You can click on the plus sign to the right to add a new Master page. Then, you can click on the X that appears just above and to the right of your new Master page. This is how you add pages through the Plan View.  ... Well, that was pretty boring. There really aren’t many ways to make instructions interesting without sounding cheesy and inept. Here’s a gif for your time.
Tumblr media
(I do not own Rick and Morty. Rick and Morty was co-created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, All Rick and Morty-related characters and trademarks are expressly owned by © Cartoon Network. Rick and Morty is the story of a zany scientist and his illegitimate child and their adventures through time and space on the Star Trek Enterprise). Sorry. Let’s play around with the Master page, just to make you a little familiar with how design in Muse works. We could go much further with this, and maybe we will in the future, but I just want to help you get acquainted with this software.
Click on the A-Master page below. We’ll just design a generic site template.
--------------------------------------------------------------- This Subhead is Irrelevant to the Discussion ---------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
When I first saw the Design View of Muse, I thought it was basically InDesign, but for the web. If you’re familiar with InDesign, you’ll probably catch onto Muse pretty quickly.  It’s structured like all Adobe programs, really. You have your toolbar on the left, your panels on the right, and some preset text, color, alignment, and other features at the top, depending on what you’re doing and what you’ve clicked on.
You should see two lines on the largest panel in your screen (probably). Everything above the top line is your header, and everything below your bottom line is your footer. I’m not sure how this renders across different browsers, but for semantic purposes, everything you want on the bottom of your page (copyright information, bottom menus, etc.) goes in your footer, and everything you want on the top (like a navigation bar) goes in your header. I have no idea why I did that in reverse, but I’m too lazy to restructure that sentence, and not lazy enough to stop typing this one. Sorry.
First, let’s create a rectangle. We won’t put anything in it- everything on this layout will be a dummy object. I made mine blue and about 160 px high by 360 wide, then placed it on the left side of my page, like this.
Tumblr media
Your box fill color and stroke color appear at the top of the screen once you click on the rectangle tool, which should be fourth from the top of the toolbar. You can also change your whole page background by clicking outside of your elements, on the big white section of your Design View (your background). I’m going to leave mine white for now, but just know that the option is available.
If you look at the options over to the right of your screen, you should see a “Widgets Library” option. We’re going to add a navigation bar, to make this thing look more legitimate.
Tumblr media
More options should pop up. Click on menus, and then select “Horizontal”. We’ll be placing this in our header. Hold over the selected option, then drag it over to your page. Place it on the page, then move it above your header line.
Tumblr media
You’ll notice it’s pretty empty, with only a “Home” option listed. We’ll fix that in a bit. I’ve matched my sidebar color (the rectangular box we added earlier) using the dropper tool, which you can do by clicking on your navigation menu, then selecting its “fill” option. You’ll notice a dropper somewhere on the right. From there, you just click on the color you want to match.
Tumblr media
This isn’t terribly attractive. There’s a lot of customization we could do, but we won’t bother with that right now. For now, look to the top of your screen. You’ll notice four options corresponding to the different views through which you can see your page. Click on “Plan” to switch back to your Plan View.
Now, hover over your Home Page, then click on the plus sign just to the right of it to add a new page. Name this one “About”. Repeat this and add three new pages. You can name all these pages whatever you like, but I’ve named mine “About”, “News”, “Contact”, and “Forum”.
Tumblr media
Now click back on your A-Master to switch to Design View.
Tumblr media
If you were looking closely at the Plan View, you might have noticed your navigation bar updating in real-time. The menu widget displays an option for all of your top-level pages (the pages along the top of your Plan View). This could have taken quite a bit of CSS and HTML work otherwise. It can be a real time-saver.
Let’s look back over at your widgets panel. Expand the option “Slideshows” by clicking on the arrow. Then, click and drag out a basic slideshow. I stretched mine out to fill the screen. There’s no particular reason for this; I just feel like you’re starting to learn how this works, so I don’t need to go over everything.
Tumblr media
You’ll notice a blue sphere with a white arrow inside if you click on the image. This is where you can customize your widget, adding a different image, changing the slideshow transition properties, etc. You can modify your menu in the same way.
Tumblr media
This isn’t the most interesting layout, but it’ll do for learning purposes.  Feel free to save your project with File>Save Site/Save Site As... When that’s done saving, you can actually preview it in your default browser. Simply click File>Preview Page in Browser (or CTRL/CMD+SHIFT+E). My page doesn’t quite stretch out, so rather than taking the time to tweak my size constraints, I’m going to leave it at that. I hope this tutorial has been as informative as it has been boring.
