Don't wanna seem aggressive but idk abt the "Malleus has to marry a woman to continue the bloodline" in a fantasy magic setting or even in fanfic. Esp in a Disney game where you can wish on a star for a kid or love each other so much a Bio baby can appear. There's magic bullshittery going on too so you can make one. Also if any if the twst dudes do get a gf I don't get why people can't just pretend she doesn't exist or be poly? Maybe make a dramatic divorce fic?? Idk.

I do agree with you anon, a small minority makes everyone look bad (if I'm understanding this correctly)

Its the number one thing I hate abt the TWST Fandom or fandoms with this sort of premise in general. There's always this weird minority that ends up being the most vocal, especially as younger people are discovering Fandom but that's another story.

Usually the best thing to do to make your fandom experience the best is to block ppl you don't like and ignore stuff you don't like. It's what I do and I've been having a great time. Something something community fridge.

Glad u kinda brought this up cause I have a mini rant of my own that's related as someone who's been in fandom/fanfic for a while ll put under a read more— just noting my experiences and stuff I've noticed. I hope this doesn't come out wrong cause I worded stuff incorrectly.

This is not to attack or shame anyone. Don't be weird. Don't harrass anyone. If you don't agree that's fine. Just don't be assholes. This is just my experience as a male insert writer. This is very incoherent and all over the place l'm tired.

l esp notice this in self-ship x readers from my years of running different masc/male reader blogs. No one wins in situations like these. I have seen people ask other people online to not draw/ship their Mc with their fave because they ship their Mc with the same character and all. They get really upset and toxic over it too.

Here's some other stuff I've seen:

WIw/bisexuals/ect are made fun of for wanting fem characters and chances are these fem characters will be torn apart by some of the toxic ones in the Fandom.

People with male yuus are sometimes attacked because "they're not gay!" Or are think Yuus roles more feminine or are accused of misogyny

Female Yuus get in the way of the yaois or have to be a certain way or in the test fandom they have to be boys cause everyone at NRC is a boy.

Most x readers are Female (not afab which is different) so a lot of trans/masc ppl are left out and a lot of fem readers being tagged as x gn or x male

Male x Readers don't take off as well and chances are the author will sorta quit for that reason- it's hard to want to continue writing if no one cares abt it and it can just be in your head

Ive see a lot of F/M writers sometimes feeling like they have to apologize for writing such things.

A good chunk of x readers also end up very y/n in nature with the "weak perfect messy bun" thing and that's totally fine but a lot of the time it's not very x reader. (That being said dont be an asshole to the writer cause its not your cup of tea. Just ignore it. Community fridge.)

I personally try to make sure I make Yuu completely androgynous and give warnings about if Yuu is more muscular, has hair, is tall, ect.

It's also why I tend to write stronger-personalied Yuus or those that are taller/buffer in appearance. This doesn't make me better than people who write y/ns, shyer readers or fem readers but I have been compared and said that I write MCs 'better" when that "better" is just preference. Don't gotta tear the others down you know?

It's why l've been doing mainly gn or masc gn because I notice a lot of fem x readers tend to not include personalities that I personally prefer/imagine with my ocs and all that I see more in male x reader fics and I notice that all sorts of people want more of that

I've even gotten fem readers send asks abt it I the past on this blog abt this too

Not to mention the off aggression of Masc Aligned DNI!! For female writer inserts or Fem Alligned DNI! In very toxic or ignorant ways like Women can't like male x male cause fetishing and all that.

I do agree with your points anon, but I have seen this stuff before. I have received death threats on previous blogs for writing male and trans readers. I have had people tell me that I am misogynistic for not writing fem. This isn't even including AroAce ppl in fandom esp those who actually like smut or romance fic or those who want something besides it.

I also don't think that all women or people in general want their f/o to always be 100% available. (It prob just came off more strongly worded in the post than intended) I don't think that most would truly care aside from a "aw man", and I think that if it truly does distress someone, fandom may not be for them and they may need to take a break from it. I also don't like how us vs them it is. It's not a women issue, it's an immaturity/toxicity issue. It's just a small part of the Fandom that are the loudest and the absolute worst and you should block them and be done.

I like making spaces for masc/trans/gay/disabled readers since we're not often repped in fic, but this doesn't mean I think I'm better or that I hate fem insert writers. I follow many and they're wonderful people that are also safe spaces.

The only people I blame for harassment, are the harrassers. No one else. It's a slippery slope to rope everyone into a specific category just because of a small minority and I'm not interested in that waterside.

Idk if this is making any sense but I hope I got one point across.

Summary: Y/N is the Prime Minister of the Night Court (head of the Night Court’s High Lord’s Government) and is meeting Eris Vanserra who has become his friend after a number of political interactions. You have heard some rumours about the torture inflicted on. And then Eris mentions that there may be a plan for a coup.

a/n: First Person (but I use Y/N as character, not an OC), I didnt want to get into torture cuz I really hate that stuff so meh, more angst based and this is a gay ship so ;)

The murder of a father does not come in a vacuum. The murder of a father comes after the murder of a son and all that is left is a husk of the victim.

He sat in front of me, across the table. I could feel the sadness emanating out of him. The bar was already loud filled with alcoholics who did not know better. But in front of me, was this red-haired male who had asked for a drink with me, to sit in silence. Except it wasn't. It wasn't quiet, he wasn't quiet. He was loud, louder than the bar. And all I could think was how this entire situation reminded me of the pain that I felt with my own father. That isn't fair, he has had it much worse. Not a fair comparison whatsoever.

“You know I like coming to bars to remind myself that sometimes life doesn't have to have consequences.”, Eris spoke while taking a sip out of his whiskey, “As in, that these people here they dont care about how they look, what they do, all they want is to drink, fuck, and go home. Wake up tomorrow and do something else.”

I listen to him as he goes on, ”And that is pretty much it, isn't it? I like coming to bars because I like to peek at the life that could have been if I wasn't born to a heartless wretch masquerading as a High Lord.”

“I understand. One time I was in a bar a few weeks back after a vote failed in the Governing Council, I thought why not just get wasted? Why not just let myself be free for a night or two? But two thought kept me away from it.”, I spoke with a snicker as Eris guessed what they were almost instantly, ”What people would say? And what would happen if you really did enjoy it, if started doing it a lot more?”

I hit his arm and laughed hard, harder than I had in a while. It was sometimes surprising to know how well Eris and I could understand each other. He guessed it right. Drinking allows me to be free - what if someone starts a rumour? With a little bit of truth in it? I know myself, I am capable of doing some of these horrible things that drunkards do. And if I enjoy it too much, I would keep doing it and one day, I would wake up to find myself an alcoholic nobody.

He got it. He got me.

I want to ask him something else and as I take a slightly loud breath, I see him tense up slightly, his forearm muscles tightening slightly and I look up to him staring into my eyes. He knows. Waiting for the question. So I ask, ”When I came to the Forest House four days ago, you were not able to see me, according to your sentry. I thought it was a joke but they really did push me out onto the ground,” Eris tries to interrupt me to apologise and I raise my hand up signalling that that isn't an issue and he doesn't have to apologise, ”I then heard a rumour that Beron…did something to you. Something that made you not able to get out of bed.”

Eris looked slightly uncomfortable and under normal circumstances, I would let it go but what I had heard did not sound fatherly and while I knew that there was some sort of pathological and psychopathic tendencies in Beron, I had to know if Eris was ok. So I continued, ”I heard some stories, Eris. And you dont have to talk about them but at least know that you can if you want to, that if you need a place to rest yourself away from the Vanserras, you can do so in my home. But more importantly, if you are okay right now and if you need help?”

I raise my hands up saying that I am done cuz Eris is now sighing and leaning back into the booth’s chair. I laugh a bit and we sit for a while in silence. I expected this to happen, I did just bring up something traumatic, wouldn't be surprised if he cut this interaction there itself. And then he did something weird.

He asked if I wanted to go to the nearby park.

The park would have been pretty if there were more lights. The gravel in the walkways was nice and the trees a bit overgrown, the grass longer than it should be. But it would have been prettier with yellow dim lights. Now it was just dark and scary. Could have even passed off for a forest if not for the sounds of the urban life right outside the compound walls.

Eris had not spoken since the bar an hour ago and we were just taking rounds in the park. I felt this insane amount of guilt to apologise or to say something to him that would make it better - I screwed up I shouldn't have asked anything. He was nice to me and we talked and met but that didn't mean that I had some right to ask him about his family, his father, and his pain. I overstepped my boundaries and I was being punished for it.

He led me to this small hill covered with grass. He crossed the little marker of the pathway onto the hill and I was surprised. Not like I can ask him what he is doing, he wouldn't respond to me even if I did ask. So I just followed him onto the hill. Could I even call it a hill? It was a mound at best.

Eris laid out a small fireball and then laid on the grass, looking at the sky. I didn't want to disturb so I just stood at a distance not sure what to do - it felt like my mind was spasming, I didn't know what to do. Do I sit? Do I go? What do I do?

He pat the grass next to him, indicating that I sit down. Feeling slightly embarrassed, I walked forward and sat down next to him, laying in the grass next to the Heir of Fire.

He turned to look at me and I felt myself blush so I turned my head to look at the sky instead. I didn't know if I could blush but in that moment, I felt like my face was red. But he put his fingers on my jaw and pulled me to look at him and his eyes, his eyes were the softest. I couldn't help but look at them, to risk being seen as a blushing maiden if I could just look at those eyes.

He gave me the biggest grin, and then spoke, ”Beron is not my father in the way that people expect him to be. He did create me with my mother. But the moment I was born it was just competition, pain, abuse. I was the eldest, the experiment, the first of his kind so I was the one who was exposed to all of this favourite techniques. Burnt with fire, hit with stones, and so much more.” I listened and tried to not flinch when he mentioned specifics about a few of those “techniques”.

He spoke about his father, about the dynamics between his father and his mother, and about how he had wanted to protect his brothers from it but they fell prey to his father. He spoke and spoke and I felt the mask slip away, the mask that he held with great pain facing the world. And here was a kid who had been burnt too many times, forced to live with sadness and abuse all his life, all these decades and centuries.

All I could think about was asking him to come to Velaris with me, to run away with me and to live next to the ocean. I swatted the thoughts away, inappropriate and unrealistic. I was Prime Minister of the Night Court and he was the Crown Prince of the Autumn Court.

And then he said something completely out of the blue, ”The Autumn Court needs change. It cannot bear the brunt of her overbearing High Lord any further. I need to remove him from the throne.”

“You aren't seriously considering a coup? Eris, that is risky and dangerous., you cannot possibly do this”, I spoke getting up a bit, calculating the political ramifications for the Night Court but more importantly, of the consequences for Eris if he should fail.

He lightly laughed and got up onto his elbows to look at me, ”If I dont do it, then it will end up with me dead anyways in his dungeon. At least I would die with honour and dignity, something I didn't have when I was alive!”

I hit his head a bit hard, cursing him out telling him that he couldn't speak like that, that it was bad luck. And he just had a lopsided grin, looking at me. I hated the way he looked at me, the way he would think that this was funny, it was not funny.I am not funny when I am mad, he was supposed to be scared. He isn't scared of me.

“Y/N, I want to tell you about the coup. The plans in place and get your opinion on it. But I am not going to risk it. If Beron gets a whiff that there is a plan in place but more importantly that you know about it, he would…I am not risking you whatsoever. So don’t ask me please.”, he is now on his knees, coming closer to me. I can feel his breath on my skin and that feels so wrong. And so good.

I ask him why I can’t ask him and he looks me, rubbing a finger over my cheek, closer than ever now, ”Because if you ask, I will tell. I can’t hide anything from you and I don’t want to ever.” At this point, my heart may give out with the way its fluttering.

He asks me to close my eyes and I do, my mind racing with the possibility that he may just kiss me. That I may know how he kisses, but more importantly how his hands would travel, where he would want to place them. It meant that he liked those parts of me, and they would become my new favourite parts.

And when I opened my eyes, he had left. And I was alone in the park, on that hill or mound on the outskirts of the Autumn Court’s capital.

i think she is a little self conscious at times, easily affected by things going on in her life, definitely tries to bite off more than she can chew, and she’s an anxious avoidant until she can’t take it anymore and becomes overtly confrontational instead alskdjdh i think this can be seen in the way she confesses to gojo, in her interactions w kai, and then also her turning down the newsletter job before she realized it was actually a good opportunity, etc etc. when i write for her, i kinda wanna give the vibe of tired college student that has a lot going on in her head n in her heart, but she’s slowly starting to learn to live again and is looking forward to life after college (aka me all of my senior year loool) i think she has a pretty neutral personality overall :0

omg i haven’t written much for ihm reader yet but i already ADORE her so so so much based on what i’ve got planned for the series, and i think i understand her the most of the oc’s i’ve made. she is someone that gets crazy tunnel vision, can only really focus on one thing at a time, often neglects her other responsibilities if it means getting The Main One done, she is hella jaded because of all the financial stress, work stress and caretaking stress which means she doesn’t have much of a filter anymore, she’s very cynical and pessimistic and easily irritated and prideful BUT…..deep down she’s a huge softie and is actually very self aware of her flaws n just really wants to get better but she just can’t find a moment to breathe…im gonna enjoy writing for her bc i think she’ll come off irrational and a bit over the top at times, but in those soft moments, she’ll be very down to earth :)

aww i haven’t had too much written for ial reader yet, but in my head i picture her as a veeeery soft spoken, sweet natured woman in her older age (she’s engaged to nanami, who i imagine has mellowed her out in comparison to when she dated bad boy choso lol), idk i think she’s kind of basic 😭 not that that’s a bad thing at all, i kinda wanted that dynamic of crazy rock star lifestyle choso mixed w simple lifestyle reader (for when they meet again later in life). when she was younger, she was highly impressionable, often thought she was more mature than she actually was, n loves veeeerryy deeply, so much so to where old scars hurt even after years and years. i think she always tries to do the right thing, but bc of her conflicting emotions, she has the capacity to cause a lot of hurt

i definitely do see myself in all of them!! i have certain attributes i share n some that i don’t. for example i don’t think i’m as brave as kickoff reader (to pursue passions or confess to a boy so brazenly or slap tf outta someone at a bar LOL) and i don’t think i’m as crass or no-filter as ihm reader for example, but i definitely relate to certain aspects like the tunnel vision, anxious avoidance, and stuff like that!! but i still try to make them their own characters i suppose, but it really depends on how i want their personalities to mesh w the love interest as well

What was your main inspiration for starting Dayshift? Has it gone the way you expected or has it changed courses since writing it?

starting dayshift... i remember re-reading solar lunacy like eight times (mind you, it was still updating then) and thinking MAN. THIS Y/N IS DENSE AS HELL. i got desperate for a fic that had the tone i wanted: something a little more mature than what the ao3 tag was full of, but still with the undertone of 'this characters a mess and doesnt want help'. specifically, i started writing dayshift for ME because *I* wanted to read about someone like me.

(im so happy that its gotten attention. i dont really set out to be popular anymore like i did a few years ago, but hitting that 'sort by kudos' button and seeing dayshift around the first few pages is so)

ANYWAY. ive had mostly the same plan this whole time! with a few flubbed details. i know the main events, and i know the ending, and i can PROMISE that i am a firm believer in hope love light and everything working out in the end. thats been the goal with every chapter.

the details i DIDNT expect that somehow manifested somewhere between brain and keyboard: - Vanessa being friends with You - The firm inclusion of the balloon boy arcade cabinet and everything that comes with it (that ones getting SO MANY headcanons attached) - The mysterious USB stick - LIVING LEGEND RILEY GREENE - I didnt have any huge plans for the daycare kids but now they have names and backstories so theyre included - The jazzy bit of childhood trauma i give all my favorite ocs. sorry viper. - I'm adding another in the newest chapter but it's in the process of being written, unfortunately - And another that select few people know but is complete spoilers and is only revealed in the endgame chapters (as in, the in-game night) (we are sooooo in the building for FNAF:SB you have no idea)

i think i wouldnt make cetus half-qunari and instead mb just a really big elf guy. i was just really in the zone back in the day about how much i disliked the way da approached half elves (& just doesnt at all approach many other mixes except for a few tiny background lore things abt ppl thatre half human/half dwarf) but while i do think that half elfs should still have like. a mix/range of features, if i made cetus today id make him more qunari-y and i dont think that fits their vibe. idk! they can just be an elf whos seer grandma has connections to the wardens/to duncan (tho i didnt know as much abt duncan at the time wrt his background but i think its still fine to have it be like. his grandma is connected to his rivaini side somehow. i'm projecting a lot of stuff wrt certain community ideals n stuff on the handful of rivaini characters lol)

also freddy needs an outfit redesign. also i should give them an actual qunlat name since the whole thing is that freddy was kind of a nickname/joke name everyone picked up on a la rook. (they Are vashoth so i should give them the qunlat version of a longass virtue name lmao. we'll see.)

i still remember chunks of their bg but i think my grasp or at least care for lore was way looser then so i might shift some of it (Both were made pre-dai technically or at least before /i/ played it so a lots shifted since then)

Yeah, okay, here goes:

I think some fandom infighting would be less toxic if we a really understood that all of us are here for different reasons.

And I don’t just mean that different kinds of stories are going to be helpful for some and hurtful for others and vis-a-versa, or that different people are going to tell different stories, you know, differently, and that should do our best to let people enjoy things. I mean that, at the end of the day, there’s a spectrum of the parts of fandom people enjoy.

For example, I have a sibling who’s in some fandoms strictly for the transformative aspect of fandom. Canon is more like a jumping off point and, to some extent, an afterthought. Their primary interaction with whatever a fandom is centered on might be fanfiction and other fan works. The characters and world they interact with in those fandoms are often completely unrecognizable from canon. The goal is often to create characters—self-inserts or otherwise—to exist in completely new stories that are (vaguely) informed by canon, but not beholden to it in any way. Most everyone in that fandom has a self-insert OC or a Y/N. The whole point is taking something you like, or wanted to like, and shaping it to fit you better. That’s fandom for them. And that’s great!

And then there’s me, who’s almost the exact opposite. Canon is more of a focal point. I love seeing fanfiction and fanworks that completely veer away from canon events and characterization, I appreciate them, but I don’t like making them myself. I love to write, but I have a hard time writing fanfiction, I couldn’t write a fic-it-fix to save my life (no, not even in the highly unlikely hypothetical scenario where it turns out a lot of us are wrong and Tech is dead for real). The closest I get to fanfiction are either short little half analysis/half story blurb posts, or doodley fanart that’s either a theory for something I think could happen in the future in disguise, or silly drawings about scarves. I compartmentalize fanon, my headcanons, and actual canon a lot. And I love seeing people’s OC’s, including the self-insert ones, but I dont want to make one myself. I don’t want to be in the story, because it isn’t about me; one of the things I love most about interacting with fiction I didn’t write is that it helps me get outside my own head and see things from a different point of view. I write a lot of metas and theories, but my favorite thing is being able to look a story that’s completely told and done, and getting to tease it apart. And that’s also okay.

Now, the two points I’m using as examples aren’t really opposites; there’s a ton (A TON) of very good character analysis and interpretation in fanfiction, and there’s often (maybe even usually) transformative aspect to analysis/intepretation. And I’m betting that most people in fandom fall somewhere in the middle of the range between transformative and interpretive when it comes to what they like about fandom. A lot of people write great fanfiction and equally great meta posts, and honestly, I think being good at the one makes you better than the other. But they are different approaches to enjoying and interacting with fiction, and I think at least a little of the friction in fandom can come from not recognizing that we all often have different approaches to this fandom thing.

Edit: I need to also mention that when it comes to interpretation and analysis, there’s a lot of wiggle room for contradictory conclusions that are all equally valid. Do I think that interpretive conclusions not supported at all by the text exist? Oh boy howdy, yes. But I also think there’s a lot of space before you get there, and a lot of ways for even one person to interpret the same thing, let alone an entire fandom.

Edit 02; I should probably also acknowledge that, as a lifelong Darkwing Duck fan, I also really enjoy shows or even books where ‘canon’ is more like a loose set of guidelines or a basis premise and the whole idea of the show is to do wacky things with that premise. I’m way more likely to get involved in the transformative side of things when this is the case.

What are your favorite reasons for writing your AU?

i enjoy watching people b properly loved -- especially characters i already adore (jj -- in this case) and black women, in general. i enjoy watching people learn themselves thru the context of love n bcus of it n the learning they've gotten from that experience fueling them to b their best self. i love the idea of love as a healing concept. i like exploring certain topics like identity n what that means from person to person, like community n how it looks from community to community n how it looks between families and friendship or like race as a structure n how the structure of it affects identity n connection w others n shit like that. i like reflecting on things that in find interesting n important but doing it in an escapists kinda way. so i feel like this story -- a sapphic, interracial love story between a butch lesbian and a bisexual "femme" -- who is deeply rooted in her community n family is like a beautiful vehicle i found. i can jus explore so many things that i like n want to explore thru the lens of love. i enjoy exploring heavy topics n softening a bit thru the lens of love. makes it easier, i feel, to digest n thus properly engage w those uncomfortable n heavy topics n empathize w those characters n perspectives. also makes it easier to write.

also, i dont feel like jj is properly seen -- either in fanon/the fandom or in canon (except by maybe emily, kinda) n to b love is to b seen, i think. so, i wanted to write jj gettin the love n respect i dont see her character get v often -- again neither on the show or in fandom. so i love writing jj b truly loved also -- about the identity thing. writing jj as a butch lesbian specifically n seeing the subtext of her lesbianism in a butch lesbian way is really validating for me n it feels really good on like a mental level to the point were like i genuinely never see her any other way now. this hc is v special to me so writing this story has been good in helping me explore my own masculinity introspectively. so thats a favorite.

also, i love honoring n loving black women thru my work -- regardless of how "respectable" they act or how polished they are thru my work. n theres so much media where black women are drawing the short straw n often are even in context of real life. i am loving writing black women b damn near worshipped in the level of love they receive regardless of "attitude", of "respectability", of how much they may or may not fit into stereotypes, regardless of their past n where they're going. creating a character like jasira -- who i KNOW would b shut down n disrespected as "too much" for who she is as a black woman -- n having her b loved on a worship-y level for it feels AMAZING. i really like this story a lot. also the different ocs im building from this universe n thinkin of their lives n their stories n eventually creating for them? ugh theres so much i love about what im creating n sharing.

But i'd like to imagine that Atreus one day just comes home wearing the like ancient Greek travelling outfit and Kratos looks him up and down, goes silent for a few minutes before asking where the fuck and who the fuck he got that from. Atreus just happily going "from this really nice man, had flaming hair, weird little voice but he was cool and- oh there he is-" and just points over to Hermes crawling out of the bushes and yelling "where are my fucking shoes Kratos?!"

i think thats funny, i think that should be canon. Hermes existing and following Atreus home to Midgard opens up so much place for angst with Kratos and Atreus but im not here for that, im here to make 2 people worse. mostly Heimdall, reverse therapy now that Hermes is here /hj

Uncle Hermes is definitely my fav trope so him bonding with Atreus over atheletics and mischief, mostly bullying Heimdall. Hermes locked eyes with Heimdall and immediately decided that he was a worthy opponent. so their relationship starts with Hermes and Atreus bullying the shit out of Heimdall, who's self growth is really being tested on a daily basis. when Atreus leaves again Heimdall is left with just 1 shithead insisting on making his life harder (but oh so affectionately).

i think Heimdall would actually be more likely to fall for Hermes cuz he finally got that giant stick out of his ass, would probably find his japes and overall mischief endearing, after he warms up to the Greek god.

Hermes is canonically really good at cooking too if im correct so him helping Heimdall with cooking,,, cute. so cute. Hermes teaches Heimdall Greek dishes and Heimdall teaches him Nordic dishes but Hermes usually just goes "this has no flavour" which in return makes Heimdall call him a slur of some kind in offense.

ok i dont have recent art of the characters i was thinking abt at all so bear with me. i have two ocs from my very very first oc group, arthur and maria, who were always the support team and i was thinking abt them,,, so im thinking theres a whole group of people who are angels, demons, but mostly who are out of that system, living in that purgatory space, and who abel and cain work with/helped out to get out in the past...

arthur was always the scientist/mechanic one ? so im thinking that. cain n abel see that jasper is unresponsive and they bring him to that little group to find whats wrong, if theres a way to fix him, or if he's really just... a messed up experiment who has no will of his own.

so jasper spent a lot of time w that little group !!! he has a whole family............................. sobs gently

ive thought abt angel a bit (im gonna keep calling them angel i think sobs). they live inside of jasper's body heart and soul, very long blond hair, little sunshine person, tries very hard to help jasper without him being able to hear him,,, they're also most likely blind. either from something before/how they were created or spending so much time as jasper's body. no lights in there.

design differences between angel and demons :

demons have horns, typical devil tails, and typical devil wings

angels have typical angel wings, lion like tails, and a halo that isnt always here but ! it appears !

they can both fly but it's a learned skill. lena is great at it but nell is SHIT at it lmao. angel would have very tiny useless wings bc they could never fly : ( babey

also all angels and demons have a power, a way to fight when they wake up... most times it's weapon summoning (knives for nell, bow and arrow for vik, sword for titania... the list goes on) but sometimes it mutates (eden for exemple w his healing. cody has a similar mutation but im not set on it. something that looks like white fire which could be an indication of who she is lol)

the theology and the hierarchy.............................. its veeeery vague for now . basically god communicates with the higher ranks of each sides. the war started forever ago for god's favors. at first god would help the side they liked most - never using their full power or smth, but giving little help here and there, a legendary weapon, a vision of what the other side was plotting... eventually god got bored of the war and left them to their own devices, each side thinking that they were waiting for one of them to win. so they kept on with the war.

the war in itself has been in a standstill for centuries. angels and demons both go on earth to achieve some things - helping or hurting someone mostly, depending or sides and orders - and it's usually where they end up seeing each other and trying to kill on sight. its a whole aspect i havent really explored yet, and also how vik and nell meet !

the hierarchy is more of a,,,,, typical political,,,, votes and stuff,,,,,,, there's a noah equivalent on the demon side but i havent really pushed that too much yet. in the end its ok if i dont figure out all those details because it's not what interests me until i have a an actual idea :]

Your ocs feel genuinely incorporated into the world and its characters, none of your ocs feel like one gets more care put into them then others. I wonder if Hinode will ever get referenced in pomegranate ink or the other way around in hurricanes / hummingbirds with Tullia since they have similar abilities. YAYY I’M SO HAPPY TO HEAR YOU LIKE MY OCS!! I love writing and coming up with ocs it’s kind of a problem because I know a lot of people don’t like reading stories with ocs but it’s just so much fun for me that I can’t stop 😭 I do try to make them be realistic and have flaws and not overpower the stories at all though because it’s definitely annoying when that happens.

Hinode has already appeared in pomegranate ink!! He was actually in the first scene even as well as being one of the sorcerers alongside nanami to give Y/N the recommendation to be a grade 1 sorcerer. He’s a little bit younger in pomegranate ink and they mostly refer to him as Kaito but his full name in both stories is Kaito Hinode. In pomegranate ink he is tullia’s cousin who she comes to stay with before Y/N and toge rescue her. Tullia will most likely appear in hurricanes / hummingbirds at some point but not for a while!!

YES I prefer writing stories with as much plot as romantic interaction! I’m not really big on smut tbh (both writing and reading it) which is why I don’t really include it. Not that there’s anything wrong with smut — I definitely respect people who write it, it’s just not my fav genre personally.

The first one CC met of the bunch of stinky bastards was Dexter, unlike in canon- Dexter was found by CC in the dumpster, like he literally took a look at this perfectly in good condition and cute doll and said ...Aww, your cute- you're coming home with me! (Dumb idiot didn't even see the box had been stabbed with a knife so many times)

So he brought Dex home, got him cleaned up n stuff, completely unaware Dexter is sentient and ya know,, alive,, and he just goes about his night completely fucking oblivious to the doll trying to kill him (Btw, CC has three dogs, Cash, Winnie The Pooch, and Tootsie Roll)

Dex when he couldn't get to CC ...Well, he is kinda,, not the greatest for animals but the moment CC saw this, he fucking slammed that tiny bitch against the wall like "OH H E L L NO, NOT M Y BABIES..." Instead of like ya know being normal and trying to throw Dex out, he tells Dexter to go let off some fucking steam and then come back when hes done so they can talk

Alright, fine, deal- fhjgdkdgjfs and that's how CC acquires husband number u n o (I do have an AU where CC dates Dexter when hes not possessing that Happy Fella Doll, literally nothing special its just an AU where Dex is alive)

Dexter also felt guilty for how they first met for the longest time, apologizing and making it up to CC in the long run, hell even now he can get a little scared sometimes that he'll wind up losing control (even tho Bob and or Frank have both said they'll fucking punt him if he tries ...CC didn't approve of that...)

So CC decided to sew up a lil present for Dexter, he made the old exterminating outfit and even his fucking bag to the best of his ability, when he showed Dexter that surprise, he literally fucking cried and hugged CC so much after that

Next up, CC met Frank in quite possibly the dumbest way possible,, CC loves to stroll at night alone and he saw an ice cream truck in the distance, he got excited in hopes he'd get some late night sweets, and he knocked on the window ...When nobody answered he got curious, wondering if this was abandoned orrr not

It's not... He goes inside only to discover Frank, literally... Well doing his stuff, the kidnapping thing- the druggin bit- ya know,, EITHER WAY- CC saw this, Frank looked back at him (them silly lil fnaf lookin ass eyes just wide as could be) CC was standing there before literally just blinking and being like ...wow,, your hot, and tall, and beefy anyways can I get some ice cream big guy???

Frank deadpans at CC (HE SAYS THAT BTW, OUT LOUD, NO FILTER) and just literally blinks before grinning "Hehe... Sure..." CC's encounter with Frank was the most fucking tame one out of the bunch, Frank did question if CC was going to tell anyone bout this but CC just shook his head 'nah man, idc lol oop' and then Frank gave him a fucking ice cream, free of charge

CC then wanders off after that but Frank p much comes back to chill and hang with CC ...He does have some major beef with Dexter when he sees him at first tho like ...YOU, YOUR THE ONE THAT BIT ME, YEAH AND YOUR THE ONE THAT PUNCHED ME (before they became buddies with one another, when CC was not around, they'd fuckin fight,, have a full on smackdown and then when CC was around they'd act like angels)

After awhile of hanging out, I don't have specifics on how it happened actually, but there's husband number 2 for CC- and then finally,, the one you'll be a lil familiar with Friendo Mitch!! Its Bob time!!

Sooo CC and the two lads, Frank n Dex went to Boys n Grills bc they h u n g y, Frank drove em of course in his van,, they got inside, immediately noticed CC has a fucking crush on the big guy and just INSTANTLY tease him about it (Btw if I haven't made it crystal clear, CC is Polyamorous)

CC gets a lil shy bc the boys are fucking teasing him over this and then they order food, CC orders just fries bc he cant eat burgers or his tummy hurty, Dexter doesn't eat bc well, hes a doll now- and Frank gets a burger

After they ate, the two literally fucking let CC work his magic,, just being like you got this lil man,, before they just fucking left (...JUST BACK TO THE VAN HJGFKDJDGF T-THEY DIDNT LEAVE HIM A T BOYS AND GRILLS) and then CC was alone with Bob.

Bob had been noticing CC was shy with him this entire time,, he had noticed it from the start and well all I'll say is the fucker didnt help matters- but also he thought CC was nervous about him which is why he decided to try scarin CC with some of his cannibal facts but CC is again a fucking dumbass

He INSTANTLY lights up and takes out a notepad and goes "Tell me more!" he's interested in the facts bc well hes a horror writer and Bob is giving him some good pointers for that topic ...Bob actually gets a lil happy someone enjoys his facts for once but also weirded out bc wtf ur supposed to be scared? ...He tells him facts for a bit before CC says he has to go, that it was nice meeting him!

Later that night... Bob in his true fashion had broken into CC's home bc I mean, if I haven't established it also yet,, I have picked the worst three to latch onto, they aren't good (...well to CC they are, I need to clarify btw, they are NOT mean or abusive or some weird shit to CC, they are genuinely loving, caring partners to him BUT!!! CC is not going to try and change them either, he loves them just for them, he's kinda,, mm I wanna say CC is morally grey if thats the right term to use,, bc he wont necessarily do anything bad ..Unless you hurt his dogs or husbands... but usually he's morally grey)

ANYWAYS- Dexter heard it but he just thought it was one of CC's dogs messing around, bc he also heard some barking from the dogs, he knew Cash sometimes gets late night zoomies, but a few mins after CC gets up bc sometimes he cant sleep and just decides fuck it, imma head out-

so CC heads into the kitchen to get himself some water and then encounters a big ol devil fella, breathing heavily and standing there in the kitchen, turning to face him, before Bob can even say a fact, CC waves with a polite smile "Oh hey Bob, what's up?" The man fucking looks shocked "...How'd ya know it was me?!"

CC woulda chuckled at that and been like "The eyes, the smile, the heavy breathing" Bob gets a bit angry bc like ok how dare you not be fuckin scared of me I BROKE INTO YOUR HOUSE, I CAN LITERALLY COOK YOU IN YOUR OWN KITCHEN-

CC isn't scared, he just says Bob is hot and then goes past him, giving him a pat on the cheek to get something to drink from the fridge, Bob is just,, steaming over there,, like wtf is wrong with this guy,, he has no idea he could be in literal danger rn- CC is just treating him so friendly, kindly, either way- CC offers Bob some candy by the end of this

Bob just sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose before just taking the candy bowl in its entirety and just munching down with a grin- hes sitting at the table with CC whose drinking some milk while Dexter gets up and Frank does, they see CC sitting here with the fucking Devil Butcher himself

and they just scream "CC,, THATS THE GODDAMN CANNIBAL FROM THE NEWS, WTH ARE YOU DOING?" CC just shakes his head "It's fine, it's just Bob" and then Dexter and Frank realize "...wait shit fr?" Bob takes his mask off and just goes "Sup?"

...And so husband number three slowly gets required, not right off the bat btw,, CC didn't just automatically form a relationship fgjkdlgdjfsd thats not how it works

A funny bit I had for CC meeting Bob lore was that Frank talked to Bob afterwards like "So your that cannibal, yeah?" Bob nods "Mhm, did ya enjoy your burger, big man?" Frank is drinking something and then pauses as he slowly turns to Bob "...What was in that burger?" Bob doesn't answer, he just grins and Frank just turns to him fully in fear "BOB, WHAT WAS IN MY FUCKING BURGER...?!"

Seraphina was a cleric I originally played in a game about Gods dying. I made her to be someone who was unknowingly worshipping the wrong god. She ended up switching domains and later doing some introspection(/exploration) I realized she was much better suited to being a Love Cleric following Sune. Seraphina really worked hard to find herself and eventually built a convent where she would welcome other followers of Sune, teach esthetician courses, as well as hold sermons and discuss love and beauty as matters of philosophy and religion. She still struggles with letting people into her life in any meaningful way, and letting herself be truly vulnerable. That's where her story with Valentine really comes into play.

Valentine is a cleric of Sune whom, upon being born, was foretold to sacrifice herself for love. She really wants to fall in love very badly and knows it is her duty more or less to do so, but there's a part of her that's still running away.

The tragedy of her story is that she often gives herself away in little ways; by handing people this unending love and letting that mean she shrinks herself, or lets herself be hurt in the name of it. She's too busy trying to fight her destiny  -- that of a Big Magical romance -- that subconsciously she is fulfilling it with every step she takes.

I think it's a fun dynamic; to have a character that's more or less running from reflection but very open with her love, and one that's found her path but still has to let herself trust, and explore intimacy.

That's really what they boil down to: both being followers of Sune but imbuing different aspects, and having each other as foils. When Valentine comes to stay at Seraphina's convent the two really connect and learn a lot from each other as equals.

They’re narrative foils, they’re friends with benefits, they’re life long friends and partners and confidants, they’re both so sexy and smart and cute, and they’re impossible to color because Val is so gd neon pink lmfao. LONG VERSION Seraphina was a half-elf cleric I originally played in a game about Gods dying and being replaced. I made her to be someone who was unknowingly worshipping the wrong god, which I think was originally some war god. After they fell she found out her powers were from Milil, god of music, but later doing some introspection(/exploration) I realized she was much better suited to being a Love Cleric, and follow Sune. She would later on in life become a huge proponent of self love and expression.

She was a non-committal wreck with a hot streak and a lot of baggage to work through. Her elf mother was distant. She had impossible to meet standards and no recognition of her as an adult, being wholly unfamiliar with human life spans. And her sisters who served as her rivals her entire life in a bid for their mother's affection, and they lashed out at each other in any way possible. Elaborate social games, physical fights, competing achievements; Seraphina was usually invested in the latter due to her aptitude with magic, and less of the first due to being considerably younger than her sisters.

When she realized that what she believed didn’t match up to what she was teaching, and having a bad home life and finding herself struggling to keep up in an environment not suited for her, she lashed out. Both at fellow students the way she used to with her more hardy sisters, and at the convent leaders. Thus she managed to get herself banished and excommunicated.

So very much in survival mode at that point. She lived with a few colleagues as much as she could before moving on, strung along some upper class gentlemen to keep herself within her former social class, lied, stole, etc.

It really wasn't until after her real God fell and she lost her powers that she had to do any kind of introspection and realize that hey, maybe she was like. not dealing with her issues by ignoring them and falling headfirst into substances, and maybe she needed to start taking care of herself and correct her behaviour including lashing out at others, and unpack her upbringing and religious programming.

I left the game after her arc (unrelated) which I would add a bit of a rewrite to later because I honestly don't know if she'd ever forgive her family within their collective lifetimes, even if she did still come about saving them. Also smh I curse my past self sometimes because I gave her an old fiance that came to find her - past me got shy & asked the DM to pull it - but that was honestly the funniest fucking thing. It would've been so good. I'm hilarious relationship drama is the SPICE of D&D & I should’ve trusted my gut smh.

Her kindness is definitely taken advantage of, and she's susceptible to looking past people's flaws for their strengths, but that doesn’t mean she loves less or stops giving as kindly.

She really craves falling in love and meeting her soulmate -- and she knows it is her duty more or less to do so -- but there's a part of her that's still running away from her fate. A part that still believes she’s not enough, she’s not ready, she doesn’t know how to do so.

So she lets herself get sidetracked with whatever - and whoever - catches her attention. This is how she's ended up in all the different little adventures I've played her in.

Seraphina embodies the beauty and self love aspect of Sune, while lacking connection to intimacy (although part of that is her being aromantic & not inherently desiring of romance). Valentine on the other hand, embodies romantic love and compassion but can't really accept herself or love herself as she continues to shy away from her prophecy.

They have a physical/sexual relationship alongside this-- I imagine that being a very open topic/concept with Suneites and that develops more organically in a society that views it as beauty, as self-care, as affection and romance. And less controlled by social stigma.

Although Valentine has a hard time separating her romantic tendencies sometimes and has moments of limerence for Seraphina. They speak freely about it - eventually lol, who would I be if I didn't cause SOME drama - and that helps her work through it. They continue to be good friends until the end of their lives.

Valentine ends up staying at the convent longer than anywhere else she travels. I pictured her eventually moving on, still trying to find the end of her fate. But I think strings would pull her back to visit.

I haven't got to play Valentine for a campaign; she was made for one-shots, so that's why she's a bit more open-ended and her story is the way it is. And although I still think Seraphina's story has places it could go, I think I found a pretty happy ending for her. SO THERE YOU ARE LORE DROP x2!!!!!!!
