(I saw a lot of people talking about ships and such recently, and while this isn't, like, a PSA or anything, I wanted to clarify some things about my own position on shippy stuff. I do really like writing romantic ships, but I also have some personal tastes on how I like to do stuff just in case anyone is curious or interested or whatever. Maybe I'll add this as a link on my pinned? who knows)
Firstly, I've said this before, but my primary shipping interest is f/f. I don't have any preference on like, CanonxCanon, CanonxOC, OCxOC, I love them all, but I do specifically prefer wlw ships. This absolutely does not mean I will not do other things, I am happy to do any gender pairing (if it works for the characters). F/F stuff is just more likely to catch my eye immediately. As a general rule, even outside of romantic shipping, I am here to give female and nb muses attention.
Secondly, I am slow-burn biased to the extreme. I like taking my time with ships and building a lot of scaffolding for a relationship. There are characters who require more "work" before they can get into a relationship at all (Shinobu, Izumi, Percy), and characters who could feasibly jump into a relationship very easily (Anzu, Tsubasa), but in all cases, I'm very long-term in how I prefer things to go, and even with those characters who are quicker to romance, there's still a lot of emotional things that will take time. CanonxCanon where there is in-canon basis for the ship is the only real exception, but even then, I still like to establish a lot of individual dynamic/portrayal things before jumping headfirst in. I like to see the chemistry play out in threads and really feel "who are these characters together?"
Thirdly, I am ship-exclusive. Most of my characters are OCs, so typically it's sort of a one-way street with other people's canons, where I am ship-exclusive with someone else's character without asking for anything in return. This is not the case with my canons, which is sometimes why I'm slightly more apprehensive about shipping them, because whether with an OC or a different canon, I will be practicing ship-exclusivity on my end, and I want it in return as well. I don't want to force someone into that if they don't want to do that, but it is a rule I won't budge on. Even for ships I really like, like Kaede/Maki, I would not be comfortable shipping my Maki with a Kaede who had like, three other Makis that they also shipped with.
Fourthly, if you ship with me I will terrorize you with OOC conversation, headcanons, random images or posts that remind me of Them, and probably commissioned ship art at some point because i've lost control of my life. You will never again know peace. I promise you excitement and engagement on my part for sure, I acquire ship brainrot very strongly and I'm very enthusiastic! Especially stuff that feels very personally-built and unique, whether that's stuff with OCs, or canons that just have a lot of personal flair, I will basically become this image about the ship.
Tumblr media
Anyway, I love shipping and I love plotting and ooc communication, and my IMs are always open to chat.

" my doctor says it's normal and not to worry because it doesn't hurt the baby " - really says everything about this.
the thing is like. i get that it's scary and makes people who do desire to get pregnant uncomfortable when we talk about the brutality and violence of pregnancy and the damage that pregnancy can do to your body
but you deserve to give informed consent to that process.
the lies around pregnancy - that it's inherently safe, that it doesn't do you permanent damage, that it's only extremely rare for people to die of pregnancy complications, etc like
all of these are lies constructed so that more people will get pregnant w/o knowing all that
there needs to be more talk about the impact of miscarriages and how common they are, how different abortion processes are and how accessible they are
but also like. talking about how pregnancy fucks your body up should not be taboo
this is a process that permanently changes most people's bodies, and that's even if the pregnancy doesn't do them like. severe illness or injury
and i just think everybody should have a right to KNOW that
bc to live in a society that intentionally obscures and hides facts about a completely optional and dangerous process does so for a reason, and that reason is based in a very sinister ideology that does not value bodily autonomy or informed consent

The amount of incest, noncon, and pedophilic jjk smut content is getting out of hand.
"Just scroll if you don't like it!" - this doesn't negate the fact they're posting disgusting scenarios. They're targeting an audience of people who should seek therapy. That kind of shit is not okay.
It's like saying "scroll part a zoophile account on Twitter if u don't like it." See how stupid it sounds?
This Fandom is slowly becoming one i regret being in because of just how disgusting people are becoming. Come on guys, do better.
It's okay to have kinks and fetishes, but that doesn't mean they're okay. It's not okay to sexualize minors, it's not okay to sexualizw little space, it's not okay to sexualize r//pe! I get dubcon, but noncon? That's literally just nonconsensual sex.
Anyways. Rant over. Do better, people.
---
Edit: I have MUCH more to say on this now that I've read some other inputs:
The problem isn't "block and move on" or "ur arguing for fiction..." it's the fact people are exposing minors and already mentally ill people to VERY REAL and DISGUSTING scenarios. It doesn't matter that they're fictional, what they're writing about is a real issue. Blocking tags doesn't work most of the time, so stop saying to shut up and just use that feature.
Another thing is that people are making these writings so normal that they are making others think it's okay. When I was younger, I had unsupervised internet access and was exposed to smut like this. It messed me up and got me institutionalized because I didn't know it wasn't okay to talk about. Minors nowadays are also very unsupervised and will come across your stuff. I'm worried for the next generation.
Last thing, the excuse "they're just fiction" is flawed because you're ignoring the PSA! You wouldn't say this if it was about something else, right? If someone was saying: "I love lolicon!" You wouldn't block and move on. You would call their asses out and comment bomb them. It's the same concept, except on a broader spectrum. You're enabling the behavior of these vile creatures that need serious help. You're not doing anyone any good by saying "this is so unnecessary" or "they're fictional..."
(Update: read this post about my asks if you plan on sending a hate message or threat lol)

*Steps up to my soapbox*
I had this whole spiel about “these are the reasons I block people and these are the kinds of people I block” to open this post initially, but instead I’m just gonna skip to the main story and make a plea. No “read more” because this is important.
Over the past week, I’ve had the misfortune of being exposed to a certain group of users without critical thinking skills and reading comprehension, that caused my blocklist number to go up astronomically. It’s no one’s fault but mine, and Tumblr’s recommendations; the users whose posts I came across want as little to do with people like me as I do with people like them and I’m not here to be a mentor or babysitter. So while it’s unfortunate we crossed paths (even though they have no idea I was “there,” because I know how to not interact with shit that pisses me off now), at least I could do us both a favor and block them, as well as anyone in their notes sharing their sentiments.
That number went up due to a combination of things, starting with my “For You” page recommending those blogs it especially shouldn’t have, and then the content in those posts (and me using the notes as a blocklist) lead to me searching for a specific term to add more accounts to my list myself. The latter action, I could have gone on doing for days, probably, since it was a search on my own terms and not a post where I could just stop when the notes ended. And the number of users I blocked could have been bigger, but for the sake and worth of my own time-- and sanity-- I had to stop at some point. As much as I would love to block everyone I may ever need to block in one sitting, that’s not possible by any metric.
But it’s that latter action that’s why I’m making this post.
I am not going to go into details about what my search was after the initial post inspired me, neither the exact word, nor what I found in those prior posts that inspired me to do this. None of it is against TOS, for the record, I just don’t want to be bothered explaining that whole story on top of this one, and/or having the exact kinds of people I’m talking about easily find this post and, again, display a lack of critical thinking and reading comprehension. All you need to know is a (non recent) message about a terrible situation was spread without irrefutable proof, and there were too many people who were told this false information in a single anon sentence. Some of these messages had a link, but not many, and the link was to an extremely questionable source, if not downright malicious.
And without any additional research, or asking for proof aside from this single sentence statement, many people decided to believe it.
Some people did the right thing and actually looked into the details, including the very few times there were links to “proof,” then additionally did more and sufficient research outside of that link. They then told those spreading or believing that false message to piss off, but the number of users who put in the extra work definitely was not high enough.
We joke about the “reading comprehension” on this site, but I know that the users making those jokes are, in reality, just as peeved and, frankly, scared, as I am, about how this lack of crucial logical and reasoning skills are on the rise. But the thing is, the term I searched for that grew my block list, is about an event from years ago. So while this is not a new phenomenon, it is most certainly on the rise.
*Side glances at the Twitter refugees*
And I bet I can guess why.
I know at the time of writing this I am not even the last person on these kinds of people’s minds, and even in the future that may remain true. But I do not, and will not, have the time or patience for people who never learned how to research for facts, not be reactionary, and use those skills to pause for a moment and form their own conclusions. I know the urge to placate, trust, and appear as the “good guy” to avoid conflict is a strong urge (dare I say survival instinct in some cases) in many of us-- we’re users on the mentally ill website, after all (said affectionately)-- but it should not be at the cost of our common sense and ability to reasonably see most, if not all, sides of the circumstances presented to us.
There is a reason critical thought and reading comprehension is taught in school (at least, it was in mine). There’s a reason they make logic workbooks for kids, and have us participate in science fairs and learn the scientific method, and write book reports and study history and where we went wrong, even if using or talking about those specific topics are things some of us will never do again outside of academia. The skills transfer-- it feels so obvious to say it, but for some of that stuff, it isn’t about the details of the specific applications of things like sine, cosine, and tangents, for example. The specific applications of those formulas and calculations will only matter to some. The knowledge of a thing is about the long term applications of just knowing they exist and what they can do, even if only vaguely. It’s about knowing there’s more to life and thought than our own personal focuses and morals.
And there is a reason there are people in positions of power-- government or otherwise-- who want to take these crucial thinking skills away from us-- and, apparently, are succeeding.
This is my plea to you: if you’re told something that has some kind of significant or personal impact as succinctly as possible by anyone-- a stranger, an anonymous tip, an authority figure, an online personality, a parent, a friend, your closest friend, a goddamn doctor or scientist (they get slightly more credibility, but they’re absolutely not infallible)-- look into it yourself. Find as many reputable resources discussing the matter as you can. Do this especially if the person who imparts this statement of fact-- true or otherwise-- on you provides none of those resources themselves, but also do it no matter what. Do it even if they provided many reputable sources-- if you find all of the same things on your own, great! You can be more sure that you know the details of the situation. But if it’s important, if it shifts perspective on an individual or matter at large, take nothing at face value from someone else before doing your own due diligence. Even the people who have your best interests in mind can leave out information, either unintentionally, or even for their own gain-- beneficial or nefarious.
When they say “Knowledge is power,” they’re not just talking about the immediate applications of academia or politics-- it’s the broader picture of the combination of everything you know, and everything you don’t. Power is control. When people control knowledge, they control power-- and knowledge isn’t always just knowing dates of historical events and the textbook definition of “propaganda.”
Oh, and also, feel free to block anyone and everyone that makes you even slightly annoyed if you want to, without guilt. You owe no one debate if that’s not what you’re here for. But be smart for yourself, no matter what you do.

can we start spreading a psa that the tour spoilers tag is “tit spoilers” cause i’ve already seen people being like “i’m going to be tagging #[dnp] T I T ~**spoilers**~” and i need us to use our brains for 2 seconds
LOL yeah i'm gonna need people to be normal about their spoiler tags you don't need your own unique flair just say tit spoilers it's fine. i do think maybe we need two different tags though? because people have very different definitions of what's a spoiler and what isn't (during ii there was an argument about whether the songs on the pre-show playlist counted as a spoiler) and especially if there's a segment that changes between shows like all the other tours had then i assume a lot of people will want to see that but not all the rest of it
idk, i'm not quite sure what to do yet. definitely 'tit spoilers' as the main tag though cause it seems to be what most people have agreed upon already, but i might also do a softer spoiler tag for those who don't want to avoid show content entirely but still want to keep most of it a surprise. not that i see myself posting a lot of details about it anyway, but i assume as the shows pass more and more people will be talking about it. i know with ii at first it was very hush hush but the more people got to see it the more the contents became an actual discussion on the dash and the spoiler tags became more important

The worst Greek mythology retelling?
Unless you live in a cave (lucky you), you can't have escaped the wave of Greek mythology retellings. Some are bad, some are good and most of them are mediocre. Among those I've read, one was particularly bad and cringe and we are going to dissect it today.
PSA: As you can see, I didn't include the book's title in the post, nor use specific tags. This post is primarily aimed at me and my mutuals. If you disagree, feel free to block me and mask my username. You're the master of your ship and the only one who can curate your internet experience. Rude comments will be sent to the Tartarus blocked. And I mean, you aren't going to change my mind anyway so don't bother trying😎.
Now that we are done, let me introduce you to this book.
I already see some of you in the back rows being like "But Niniane, why did you bother with this? It's obviously going to be bad!". Well, sometimes I need things that are light and easy to read. Everyone needs to turn their brain off from time to time.
And besides, it looked inoffensive. The idea of modern women being isekaied during the Trojan War is fun. As a writer and enjoyer of OC fanfics, I absolutely love new takes and dynamics with existing characters.
Except that...it wasn't fun at all! Let's dive! And I hope you're prepared because it's gonna be a ride.
-So it starts with the goddesses being fed up with the Trojan War and male egos (Lego des Zhommes if you're French). They decide to find a way to stop the war. So far, so good.
-And their solution is to...send modern women back in time. Yeah, because they think that ancient-era women are too weak and meek. Only independent modern women will be able to handle those strong warriors:
"modern mortal women are different from ancient women [...] they're independent and smart and not used to bowing down and taking orders [...] maidens from the ancient world are not equipped to handle such a man, but I know that modern mortal women are different ---stronger, smarter, more independent."
Yes, you've read correctly.
First of all, it reeks of victim-blaming. If the Trojan women had been more assertive, they could have stopped this. It could have prevented them from being raped and enslaved! They just had to lean in and...Stop, stop. And I'm sorry but those ancient women are more equipped with dealing with that sort of men because they live with them every day. Idk the goddesses could have just...empowered the Trojan women so they could resist? Send the Amazons to help (with more success than in the original myths)? Give them a safe place where they could be protected?
-So, anyway, the heroine is transported in the body of a Trojan princess. But there is another problem. The heroine's friend who transmigrates with her is black. And she gets turned into a white woman. The reason? "Jacqueline’s lovely dark skin would be too hard to explain among the golden Greeks"(sic.). Here, we can see that the author didn't bother doing her research. Many stories regarding the Trojan War have an African king come to the Trojans' aid. The ancient world was furthermore interconnected. So yes, it would have been f*cking easy to explain. And to add insult to injury, our black woman turned white becomes the servant of the main character and is treated as her property.
-So anyway, MC becomes Achilles' war prize. And being a war prize is such a cool and fun life! You can wander around the camp, with no fear of being sexually assaulted!
-MC is a therapist and wants to try to help Achilles. She thus practices hypnosis on him and decides to have sex with him while he's still in that state. So, she basically rapes him. The worst thing: she knows it's wrong, but she does it anyway and she isn't sorry.
-Then, Achilles tells the MC that he has frequent bouts of berserk rage and that he even raped a woman. But he didn't mean to do it. Poor meow meow.
Needless to say, I stopped here. This wasn't fun, this was downright insensitive. The ending is predictable: MC ends up with Achilles and MC's best friend with Patroclus because no one can stay single!
Anyway, that was, imo, the worst Greek mythology retelling.

I identified as a trans man for close to 5 years when I was a teenager as an attempt to escape from all the hardships a woman has to face. I had the largest amount of support from my friends, online communities, and felt like I finally knew who I was. That was until I snapped back into reality and reclaimed my female identity, this caused those people to drop me and I honestly couldn't be happier. They mocked me for going back and said I only socially transitioned for "oppression points".. hello? As if women aren't oppressed? Anyway, I feel like the online space isn't a safe space for young women because instead of giving us support, we are given "solutions". This is also another reason why I support not allowing teens to have access to puberty blockers, testosterone, etc. because, no, we don't always know ourselves especially as vulnerable teenagers. I could've very easily gotten them and messed up my hormones for good.
Thanks for sharing your story! ❤️ I really wish there was better support for detrans women. So many people, esp the trans community, treats them like a joke or a threat. Esp that girl that made a PSA about how hormones made her start balding, the trans community mocked and degraded her for weeks, even though she wasn’t angry or didn’t say anything against them. They also made conspiracy theories about how she was a conservative plant, it was disgusting! And now the detrans tag is just full of porn, not actual support…
What you said about getting support really made me think, and it reminds me of when so many girls admit they loved having a teen pregnancy because it was the first time in their life they got unconditional love, praise, and affection...
If only we as a society gave this love to young girls as the standard, then they wouldn’t resort to altering their bodies… they can feel comfortable in their natural state. That won’t happen until society stops hating/sexualizing/dismissing the teenage girl and her experiences.

So, first off, this is not an attempt to kink shame (dubcon and noncon are great!) but I do keep seeing a thing in fics (I do NOT see this irl in kink spaces nearly as often) where like. A character will interrupt the flow of the scene to check consent
And I don't mean in an "are we still green?" Or "what's your color?" kind of way, but I mean. The author has tagged the fic and indicated via prose and/or author notes that they are doing their Due Diligence to make sure this fic is Righteously Consensual from top to bottom, No Question About It
And a character will ask for full sexual consent either directly or indirectly or renegotiate the boundaries of the kinks being practiced AFTER the sex acts have already begun.
Here's the thing: horny brain isn't great at making decisions! irl in kink spaces, there's often a lot of emphasis on negotiating BEFORE the scene begins, perhaps even with a space between negotiation and the scene if it's with a new/unfamiliar partner (maybe it's a few minutes while things are set up, maybe the partners negotiate a day or more in advance! It depends!), and not changing the parameters of the scene after someone is already horny or god forbid already in subspace.
Again, these are perfectly fine rules to break in fiction, when the author is aware of it (most characters are not going to be fully familiar with safe, sane, consensual practices and the traffic light system, nor would we want them to be!) but I'm increasingly finding fics where the author DOESN'T seem aware, which takes a normal fic (in-character, with reasonable but perhaps even somewhat dubious practices, which the author isn't emphasizing or preaching about) into Red Flag Territory (a character, OOC, yanking me out of the scene to behave like a PSA about consent instead of conforming to the horny tone of the scene, and perpetuating unsafe practices anyway)
If you are writing a master manipulator or someone who wants to have a gotcha, you totally said it was okay on a character they are trying to bone (which is well in the realm of non/dubcon) that's fine! This PSA is not aimed at you. But if you are trying to write someone who Cares Strongly About Consent, then perhaps be more aware of when is an appropriate time to escalate the situation (sexually speaking) or ask for consent!

I really appreciate your continued emphasis on people being free to enjoy canon and fanon as they want while providing accurate canon information! All the asks and PSAs you've shared on that recently reminded me of a fic where sj actually WAS innocent, even wrt abuse. They had to make an a/n how it was their spin deviant from canon so it'd be great if they could stop getting nasty messages pls. I just think we should all foster a nicer fandom environment, so I love what you're doing~!
Yeah, I personally might be a book-canon purist, but I can certainly recognize that not everyone feels the same way-- and at the end of the day, it is fiction, what people want to do with canon and fanon is up to them and really has little to do with them as a person. I hold authorial intent in really high regard, but no need to bully those who don't, and who want to rearrange things.
Of course, for something like you mention, I would advise using some kind of tag to indicate that it's off-script. Especially since SJ's abuse of LBH is an integral part of the story the novel is telling, changing things like that changes the entire tone of things.
If a fic where the characters are intentionally OOC gets popular, then people will inevitably start going to that fic's portrayal and mixing that up with canon details (this is, probably, why there is so much apologism and denial of SJ's canonical abuse of LBH in this fandom, though it certainly wouldn't be the specific fic you're referencing alone and is probably a combination of many different factors). I personally don't like portrayals like this, but if a writer is changing it for their story, then who am I to judge or harrass them over it? The only issue comes when it spills over into the wider fandom perception, and you have people swearing left and right that SJ had nothing to do with the fake manual (he did) or didn't actually mean to abuse LBH or want him dead (he also did, and this can't just be contriubted to unreliable narrator since it comes from his own perspective in the extras). So I think an a/n at the beginning is a good idea in situations like these. If writers don't want to spoil things, just simply tag that the character is OOC compared to canon-- no need to go into specifics, and readers will know going in that the portrayal isn't meant to be a take on canon or aligning with it.
No one knows how popular their fic will become, after all, and if it gets into the wider fandom space without proper context, things like "Shen Jiu was just treating LBH normally for the time period, he wasn't abusive, LBH was just a self-obsessed person trying to demonize him" become mainstream, widely held beliefs.
Of course, this is what my blog is for, hopefully rerouting some of those ideas, pointing back to the sources where the divergence happened, so that people can see that while they may enjoy this canon-divergent depiction, that they shouldn't bring it into canon-based analysis. I think sourcing fanon is very important for this reason-- better than just saying "you're wrong" is being able to say "this is where the idea came from."
At the end of the day, a deliberately off-script, ooc portrayal should be tagged as such and AO3 provides those tags for a reason. There's nothing inherently wrong with writing characters OOC to change a story. People can write what they want! It's the writer's job to make relevant information known, and the reader's job to filter it out and just not read things they don't like. I'm so particular that I put down probably 80 percent of fics I read before I even get through the first few chapters. That's just me though! I'm a canon snob! Other people have no issues and that's fine.
As long as things aren't skewing into abuse apologism in regards to the canon-universe, there's literally no reason I can't just ignore things I don't like, and there's no reason other people can't do the same with things they don't like.
Anyway, don't harrass artists and writers in the fandom. If you feel it absolutely necessary to leave a comment in regards to an OOC character portrayal, don't be mean about it, just say something like "<Character Name> seems to be a bit OOC here, is this intentional?" but even then, it's really not necessary to come into someone else's space like that. Make your own posts, write your own fics.
There is no reason to assume malice when there are other explanations. This is hard with topics like abuse apologism, but people also need to remember that this is fiction. SJ was abusive in canon, but he's still not a real person, and if someone wants to write a version of him where he's not abusive, then that portrayal can easily be treated as a version from an alternate universe where things were different. This is not the same as saying a person in real life isn't abusive, because in this case, it's not apologism-- it's literally a different universe where the rules of the original canon don't apply. In fictional and fandom spaces, it's a lot easier and better off to just give people the benefit of the doubt.
As long as you're not claiming that his canon behavior wasn't abusive (since that's about behaviors now, and not just a fictional story), it literally doesn't matter what people write in fanfic.
Authors, tag your fics with everything you'd like your readers to be aware of, because when a reader opens up a fic they're probably expecting the characters to follow canon unless stated otherwise.
Readers, read the portrayals and stories you like. Don't read the ones you don't. If something isn't tagged correctly, and you find out you don't like it after reading, just close the fic and stop reading.
No one should ever be harassing anyone else over fandom for any reason.

This nonstop victim parade is v funny on a level because they all really started to shut up once I got here. They go in cycles with this and I've watched them a long time. They never say what they did. This is just like the Neil "apology." It's a gesture. It's not real. "I should have handled myself better at times." What did you do then. Share with the class. Explain your shit so you take accountability. Say it in a way that isn't making you out to be some meek victim. It's not working on most of us. Show us the fucking receipts for this Lestat fan bullying you all keep talking about too. I want to see that. If it's so prominent then where the fuck is it? Cuz all I see is some sensitive ass babies who have made themselves the gatekeepers of the fandom and hate on black fans constantly like they're slick with how they do it too. You're crazy for ep 5, you obsess over that shit and you will lose it fr if they don't cancel it. You talk about black fans like everyone's too stupid for "the truth" of it "really" being a manipulated memory, but let's talk about how you can't handle if it's true and Lestat really did all that? Why can't you do that? That's where your bullshit "bullying" comes from. People don't coddle Lestat, people *gasp* hate the man! and there's your receipts. Someone says "Lestat kys" and you're making a fandom PSA about "bullies." You're SO self-centered! You saw a black man get beaten like that and you made it all about feeling bad for the white guy? You're saying the white guy's fans are the real victims here? Girl if you don't shut the fuck up. Wake up already to your antiblackness. "We should've been able to have mature discussions." Exactly, and how have you contributed to this? People follow and comment on the context of the show (of which you are not a writer on) and you're out here calling everyone dummies because of the BOOKS. Always the BOOKS. Anne Rice is dead, baby, she ain't writing this show. Neither are you. How do the natural consequences of your egomaniacal bullshit taste now? Am I riding your dick enough for all the attention you've been ordering with this superiority complex you project all over? Don't you like having someone here doing all of this in public like you're always crying is happening anyway? Isn't this what you wanted?<3 You're literally right on that train with him and that dog, saying to everyone else "I love our family." Shut the whole fuck up. You love control and you love feeling superior, especially over black fans. You can't go long without mentioning "that group" like anyone's ever done anything to you but stay out of the tags even! You're so bothered anyway tho! You can't even let black people have tumblr accounts way the fuck away from you. Pretend all day you don't care about this shit, I see you. I know you're reading all of this. Choke on it. You shouldn't have been pulling this shit so long, then I wouldn't be here. You created this, remember that.

Your recent tags reminded me: this is ancient Toyhouse stuff, and I know that you never post these things without proof, but when I went looking for links to the PSAs I found that they've all been scrubbed off of TH; either posted by accounts that have since been closed or deleted (like casin0s original TH account), or posted by accounts I have blocked. To that end, I won't blame you if you decide not to post this, but I wanted to say anyway: Part of what precipitated Casin0s/nicooo stepping away from their Mignyan CS was a scandal involving their (publicly visible in the CS Discord Server, as well as at least one friend group chat on Discord) inappropriately sexual jokes with minors in general, and sexually charged character plotting/RP with a 'friend' who was 13/14 at the time (whose username I know, but will withold for that child's privacy). Casin0s (19/20 at that time) had always been one of those very loud 'PROSHIPPERS DNI, YOU'RE SICK FREAKS AND PEDOS!' types, and having become familiar with the pattern of outspoken antis being exposed for inappropriate behaviour themselves, I wasn't shocked when Casin0s got exposed for 'joking' about inappropriately sexual topics with children, or that there was explicit artwork on the profiles of characters that they RPed with a child. However, what DID shock me was that after the callout and the public 'apology' that they posted before deleting their account (as good an admission of guilt as you can get), they 1: stayed on so many peoples' 'favorite designer' lists, 2: pretty obviously remained personally in-touch with their child 'friend,' and 3: a handful of pretty big name artists in the Dainty, Mignyan, and other communities quietly remained friends with them. After a few months, they made a new account, and have carried on a quiet and unbothered life with tons of fans ever since. Their designs continue to sell within days, for just about any asking price, to users with 'proshippers DNI' in their profile to this day. All this to say: I fully get you, Mod, when you say that you don't want to socialize with antis. I've seen proshippers clearly denounce a member of their community who is exposed for inappropriate behavior, but I never see antis bat an eye when it's one of their own.
This is going to be a serious reply, if you don't care about actual conversation, continue to scroll. Not you anon, anyone looking. I also usually do not partake in full on discussion about this topic, but given some recent events outside this blog, I would like to.
I'm going to post this partially because it isn't a callout on a specific person, merely an example, and partially because I was actually around for that, so for my own sake I can say I know it happened with enough grace to at least be able to respond to it.
I am currently in the midst of watching a group of people on twitter get in more trouble for tracing than for harboring a predator who exchanged kink based writing and voice messages with a child, these same people consistently attack people in the community they're in for partaking in problematic fantasies, one of the people harboring this predator works professionally with very young children. They are now sending inappropriate pictures to the people calling them out, including private pictures involving self harm of the people they are harassing, no one knows how they obtained these images, but it has resulted in two attempted suicides, and still, they continue.
This is not unusual, it feels like it happens every few weeks. I will not explain my personal history on an anonymous drama blog, but I avoid that subset of people because I have regularly had them either defend predators, or tell me that me being anti-censorship in art means I deserve what happened to me. I have had antis send CSEM of my friend -- a fellow victim, clearly -- to them directly in order to taunt them.
Until Antis take initiative in denouncing this behavior in their own community, I will continue to assume they all support this behavior, or partake in it themselves. But thus far I've never seen that happen.

Anybody have an idea of fandom’s tolerance for a cis author writing a fic and making a character that’s cis in canon trans? I have this headcanon, see, and I wanna explore it. And I personally think of this the same as “Well, I have no experience with being a gay man/an alien/a bounty hunter/etc either, but I still write about it anyway.” But are people gonna be upset that a cis person wrote a trans character? Should I WARN for that? Or is it assumed that any fic not tagged as t4t is written by a non-trans person. Does it even matter? Am I overthinking this shit? Send help 😂
--
LOL, yes, you're massively overthinking it.
"Can some fool on the internet find a way to be offended?"
Do you really need me to answer that?
Basically, I don't think any topic is off-limits. If you write a bunch of cringey stereotypes, that could be offensive, but that doesn't mean you should never try to write a character with that identity. The better a writer you are, the more likely your fic is to appeal, same as with any identity/trope/whatever. The better you are, the more you can get away with.
The problem of tryhard crap full of PSAs and no plot other than "X is trans" is well known, including plenty of badfic by trans writers. Trans readers will often avoid trans fic entirely or trans fic that hasn't been vetted by friends or trans fic that isn't by an author they're familiar with, either because too much is garbage or because otherwise good fic can be triggering to one person while awesome and affirming to another.
People are big boys and girls and others. They can click the back button if your fic sucks.
I say write away.

hi this is probably SUCH a weird ask to receive but im scrolling your light tag in a fit of autism and saw you refer to lament (thats lament right? ihavent missed some critical light lore where she has a fiance who isn't troy lament?) as butch and its been sending me into a conniption. is lament a butch. is it real. me and my friend have had our own butch lesbian troy lament mindscape for months now.were we right all along. i feel like im going insane.
omg no you are so good, I am incredibly flattered. (Listen, PSA to anyone who's worried about being weird about Light to me: it's no problem, it's really hard to be weirder about Light than I am and I'll be impressed rather than freaked out if you are. It's chill.) That tag actually wasn't about Lament! This is about her late (or, if she was in fact swallowed up by an antimeme and is still kicking, "late") fianceee. I could have sworn that there was a detail about her late fianceee on my author page, but looking now, there definitely isn't and has never been one. What was I thinking of? Maybe an old rp character sheet? ... You know what, I'm putting that on there right now, because fuck it.
Tumblr media
LOVE WINS!
Anyway, this is part of the vast amount of Light lore that mostly only exists in my head and draft files.* The late fiancee's name is Mars. Her other appearance on the site is in Soulless's tale all I ever wanted; all I ever deserved, which is where the Mars-As-Nobody concept came from, and which is quite lovely writing.
Here are some Mars facts for interested audiences:
Very butch
Also a scientist; worked with Light in the regular world. Neither of them had any conception of the anomalous before The Incident.
Light loved and misses her very much.
Dedicated transhumanist
Light attributes her strong moral compass to Mars having one. Unclear if this is actually true given that the other Lights (O5-2, etc) also seem to have a strong utilitarian moral compass and don't have their own Mars - but this would be surprising news to Light herself.
She and Light lived in a ricketty little one-bedroom apartment together and kept pet finches.
So that's who that's about. But none of this contradicts with butch Lament, certainly. Get him in here. Good for him! I love that.
I feel like there's some space you could explore here about new Foundation recruits who have their whole memory erased, and the new identity they put together... could be wildly different from the old one. The Foundation might encourage that as a way of separating them from their past. Like, you don't have to go there with Lament specifically, but you could.
I also think the idea of Light having a type is cute. Lament and Mars have never met each other. But if they were to meet they'd see the other and maybe size each other up a little and be like "...yeah, okay, that checks out."
-----
*... I may be working on something. Watch this space.

I just saw your tags about s5 scully hair being the one and just wanted to say I agree so much. I feel like ftf and s5 is scully hair TM. I also have a real soft spot for the late s3/early s4 scully lewk, particularly the make up.
(Whispers quietly: I really don’t care for her s6 hair)
Hi hi hi anon! \😄/ I am so glad you see it too! If you're talking about the post I think you are, I can't take the credit - I'm pretty sure I copied some of those tags from the previous poster. xD But hey, that just means we're in good company, right?
I generally feel pretty icky commenting on anyone's appearance except in a positive light, but I will say that I don't disagree about season 6. When it got even shorter in season 7 (around about Maleeni) though was probably the one I like the least.
Tumblr media
(Karenish before "Karen" was a thing? idk. she looks like my therapist (but hotter.))
Tumblr media
(top hats can improve many things)
That bathtub updo in Hollywood AD was cute as shit, though.
But yes, season 5 was definitely a - maybe THE - highlight. I mean:
Tumblr media
(may we all look this good on our inexorable path to the grave)
Tumblr media
(not bad for someone who didn't even get real cream cheese!)
And yes! about seasons 3/4.
I'm rewatching season 8 right now and finding myself pretty partial to the look in some of those episodes too, though I concede my opinion may be colored by my just generally loving the angstfest that is season 8.
Tumblr media
(there's something a bit Never Againy about it isn't there? like the fringe or something? idk i know literally nothing about hair. anyway i think it's similar just with ANGST CLASSIC™ instead of Rebel Angst Lite™)
I have to admit I haven't watched past the end of season 8 yet, at all, ever, so take this with a Big Grain Of Salt but I just really really gotta give honorable mention to IWTB. Just look at this post!!!!!!! It just works. Never seen a gif from that film that I didn't like.
My last opinion is also a PSA, but I also really think Scully deserved more ponytails. How you gonna do science much less CORPSE science with your hair at risk of falling in your eyes! You can't just brush it away! You're wearing gloves! Those things touch your subject and your tools and nothing else!!! Safety first guys!!!!!
Thank you so much for your message anon! 💕 We're all members of the "damn she looks good" club and it's so valid and fun to say it.

ghetsis harmonia, tenth heir of house harmonia, god of the gateway of truth and ideals, keeper of the dragon force, king of kings. by percival (he/him, 30+).
psa! this blog is highly selective and private. headcanon based and canon divergent lmao. formerly idanikou.
with heavy influence from the works of j.r.r tolkien, suzume (2022), mythic archives of dantalian, various mythologies and whatever else i have compiled (a lot)
a study and criticism of religion, perceived truth and unrealistic ideals, loneliness, the horror and beauty of the divine, the inherent evil behind all things good,
public vs private info ╱ ic wiki (wip) ╱ worldbuilding lore blog is under construction! ╱ meta analysis on this blog ╱
rules under readmore

𝐨𝐧𝐞. #KINGSTHUNDER is an independent, private, highly selective and mutuals exclusive writing blog for ghetsis harmonia of the pokemon franchise. except the vibe of this blog is just ... not pokémon just a lot of other things.
due to the fact that i am OLD, this blog is 18+. please do not follow me if you are under 18!
on this note, this blog will feature dark and triggering themes. i will make sure to tag these things with the format of #trigger so that they can be filtered out! please tag #trypophobia for me!
𝐭𝐰𝐨. this blog will not be open for shipping. i have a long standing worldbuilding where ghetsis is in fact married and he hasn't bonded with anyone else in that way ever since so uhhh.
i am very open to other sorts of bonds, though!
i should also note that i will accept mains and exclusives!
𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞. i am known for writing metas across the blogs i have. in the wise words of a friend:
Tumblr media
with this in mind, the metas i write are portrayal specific to this blog, so please give them a read! i know i can be rather wordy- anyone who has followed me elsewhere may know this, but for my first time followers, worldbuilding is one of my favorite things to do. i am particularly fond of analysis of character psychology.
𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞. to the point above, i do have other blogs! i am in and out of other fandoms, but i am trying to focus on a smaller group of things for my own sanity.
and by this, i mean i work 32-40 hours as a registered nurse in an inpatient psychiatric unit. i am busy, i am tired, and i can't keep letting my focus go all over the place. inevitably, it still may do that because i have a tendency to be scattered, so if i don't get to something immediately, it isn't you, it's me!
also related to that, i do love communication! i struggle with reading the room (it's the Autism tm) and so if something's up or if you're bothered, please be direct with me! i will not take offense, i quite appreciate feedback so that i can be better as a person! in return, i will communicate back! i am learning to curate my space (after 10+ years of being on tumblr).
𝐬𝐢𝐱. there are people i won't interact with due to various reasons- my dni list is on the carrd of my other blogs. i won't interact with genderbent versions of characters, people who are Real Life Individuals (not counting fictional depictions like in the typemoon franchise or whatnot because those really have nothing to do with the actual individual they're supposedly based on?).
please stay far away from me if you fall under the following categories (i'm censoring things because god knows tumblr just picks shit up idk): proshipping, writing inc*st, p*dophilia, r*pe/n*ncon, are transphobic/homophobic- the usual gross behavior! use your moral compass!
on top of that, i am a firm believer that we learn from the media around us. full censorship is just as dangerous as the aforementioned things- the world isn't all sunshine and rainbows! please refer to this post which essentially summarizes the gist of what i'm trying to explain.
𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧. anyway, hello, i'm percival / percy, i am 30+ and use he/him pronouns exclusively! i am a hobby artist (it's my side-gig from nursing) and sometimes i post my art, tagged #whats my art tag considering i constantly forget my art tag if it's fancy. please do not repost my art without my permission.
mutuals, feel free to ask me for my discord, since i am much easier to reach there!
i look forward to writing with you!
