I’ve gotten to the point in Survivor where Cal first taps the Dark side, and to me this adds weight to something I thought was being implied in Fallen Order.

See, I thought the implication was that Cal used the Dark side during Order 66.

For me, it explained why Cal’s connection to the Force was so badly damaged at the beginning of Fallen Order (along with his massive PTSD). And Cal tells Cere in Fallen Order that he doesn’t know what happened to damage his connection to the Force.

In Survivor, the slowed blur from using the Dark side in the Imperial base is very similar to what we saw Cal use during Order 66. Slowing/freezing the people attacking him is what Cal did as a terrified padawan trying to save his master, and the first thing adult Cal does with the Dark side is slow all his opponents.

And when Merrin asks, what the hell was that? Cal responds that he doesn’t know. (Deja vu.)

As we saw from Cere in Fallen Order-

You can absolutely use the Dark side without being consciously aware that you’re doing it. It seems to be something that’s much easier to recognize from the outside than as the person unintentionally using it.

That’s my theory anyway.

A thought I had while watching IBO was that the Alaya-Vijnana system had some serious untapped potential as a medical device. With the ways that it allowed people with the implant to connect their nervous-system and brain to technology it’d be a no brainer for *someone* to try and apply it for things like prosthetics. Granted, there’s reasonable explanations within IBO’s worldbuilding for WHY that potential remained untapped (Gjallarhorn’s ableist propaganda making cybernetics taboo specifically to suppress it’s development to maintain their military dominance being the big one), but I couldn’t help but wonder when seeing Mikazuki slowly lose his motor functions if they could somehow still use his AV in a way to reverse the process. Or maybe hook him up to a device that would allow him to move his body without being connected to a 60 foot tall demon that’s disguised as a robot.

So imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when I realized that G-Witch was taking it’s Alaya-Vijnana equivalent, the GUND-Format, and doing exactly that! The main group’s entire goal with GUND-ARM is to research the medical usages of a device(?) that allows people to connect their minds to technology! Exploring how to take something associated with war and turn it into something that improves lives instead (Kudelia would be so proud)!

I’m really happy that I decided to first (re)watch IBO before jumping into G-Witch, it’s really awesome to see how G-Witch borrows many of the plot points and themes of IBO and takes them in a new—more optimistic—direction.

I just finished The Magnus Archives for the first time last week! And thought it might be fun to compile the episodes that scared me the most and see which ones spooked the rest of the fandom as well!

But for the fear that episode awakened in me he will always be known as The Bonebitch #Also I had to try really hard to find a scary episode of S5 #None of the other ones like actually affected me. Grossed me out perhaps but none of them really got me… frightened like S1 did.#It still took me ages to finish because I don’t like stories ending but… suprisingly it’s probably the breeziest season for me?#poll

I finally figured out how to get into the Pentiment game files (after downloading five different extractor programmes lol) and decided to look through the glossary page marginalia that I ignored/missed on my first playthrough.

We all know our man Andreas is a cat fan, so it’s no surprise that there are quite a few drawn throughout the game. But there are also these two cats, which aren’t quite in keeping with the style of the others:

It’s a lovely piece of art, just like everything else in the game and now I can access the texture files I’m one step closer to making a sticker set for my laptop lol. But look at it for a bit longer and then tell me they don’t remind you of one of our fave Pentiment couples…

I think @mintymyths has mentioned before that some of the illustrated frogs share a likeness with Andreas — so I like to think that these animal cameos are a recurring artistic feature of his <3

Hmm…I’ve had this thought forever but what is going to happen to Cattleya and Bernadette’s fairytale magic? The rule of the Mystery Pryer pathway is that the less known about your magic’s origins and the less it spreads, the more powerful it is. Now we have a whole slew of transmigrators which will definitely spread the magic, not to mention any one of the transmigrators could have published a book of fairytales and marketed it to the public which would further impact Cattleya and Bernadette, especially if their magic becomes common place stories. Now we’ll see how the affects unfold from now on I guess (I think they might have to dig deeper into history which is…blasphemous ngl).
