you dislike Luke Castellan because he disagreed with an oppressive government system and actually took action to change the abusive ways him and his peers have been forced to follow for millennia.
I dislike Luke Castellan because in the Titans Curse he manipulated Annabeth, who he raised as his little sister, into holding up the sky, the FUCKING sky, for over 20 hours and had the audacity to walk away as though he was completely apathetic towards it while she begged and pleaded with him to help her.
we are not the same.

Honestly a sorry from Curly would mean nothing to Anya.
I’m not saying she wouldn’t want to hear it, it’s a hollow vindication. She told him and he couldn’t hear her. He saw it and he couldn’t understand it. They both experienced it and he should apologize that it took that for him to get it. She already knows he’s sorry but what’s the point if neither of them can do anything about it? It’s earnest but at the same time what she wants an apology for is what Curlu can’t apologize for.
He can’t be sorry for what happened to her even if he is. Even if he carries that guilt with him until the day he dies it’s not all his to bare. The most heinous parts aren’t his weight even if he tries to balance it. A part of her bitterness is the fact he can’t be sorry for it all. She can’t just direct it all towards him even if she wants to. She was failed in so many ways by all of them. It hurts with him the most cause he had the power but they all did nothing in the grand scheme of things.
The one person who should apologize would never and could never, it’s not something you can be sorry for. She wants an apology, she needs one but what would it fix?
#my two scents on apology scenerios cause like if she heard it I think it would just make it worse#likes she’s happy in a bitter sweet way like I don’t know why people need Anya to be actively resentful and mean about it like that’s nots#satisfying none of this story is satisfying in anyway shape or form and I want to write scenerios that really aren’t that like it’s real#it’s raw it’s in character for her to sort of forgive Curly but not accept his apology cause it’s worthless and that’s the tragic part of i#in a world where they escape and he apologizes he’s forever haunted by the fact she’ll never accept his sorry and she’s forever haunted by#the justice she didn’t really receive like for those that like them together it’s alway the unspoken bitterness of all his actions carry an#act of apology while she will never accept it as such cause he can’t say it and do anything about it nor what he’s apologizing for she can#learn to forgive him for the mistake understand the circumstances even if she doesn’t agree or wishes he’d known better but it’s forgivenes#based on she wouldn’t do that to herself to hold it against him forever he’s paid for his sins in watching the effects of his inactions and#having so much taken just like her but it didn’t have to happen and that’s why she can never accept the sorry#there shouldn’t be a reason he has to be sorry but there is idk they are so much to me like platonically#the only way I pair cishet straights together#mouthwashing#mouthwashing game#anya mouthwashing#nurse anya#captain curly#curly mouthwashing

Guys I’m actually crying right now I’m so sad all the time over how Harry’s abuse is never addressed
He was ABUSED guys and NOBODY ever talked about it
And can you just imagine Harry James Potter waking up that first Christmas expecting nothing and then Ron Weasley his FIRST friend telling him he has PRESENTS. The joy the shock that boy must have felt. But can you imagine for a split second he doesn’t believe him. Can you imagine for one second that Harry thought Ron, his first friend, could be playing a cruel trick on him. You think Dudley never pulled that shit on him? You think he was never given false hope that he had presents before?
Or how about the fact that Harry probably woke up every morning for what was probably his first four months at Hogwarts at least, panicked and rushed to get up to make breakfast for the Dursley’s only to realize he didn’t have to. Can you imagine the relief? The weight off his shoulders. Or even worse can you imagine the guilt he felt? He had been raised to cook for them every morning and you think it wasn’t deeply engraved in his mind that in order to feel some sort of acceptance without doing something for others? You think he didn’t try to do things for his friends those first months at Hogwarts, believing it to be the only way he’d be accepted?
Think even harder about how as the years went on and as he did more things for people it seemingly fed into those beliefs? How every time he saved someone, every time he did something for the school, everyone loved him for it? How Hogwarts was his safe haven, but even then they always expected something from him in return. And when they hated him, and he did something else to save them, suddenly they loved him again. You think he didn’t solidify in his poor, hurt mind that in order him for him to be accepted he had to do these things for the people around him?
Or even the betrayal he MUST have felt when he learned all of this was PLANNED. That he was raised and built and forged to be nothing else other than a hero for a society that always expected that from him.
That despite the fact that he escaped the Dursley’s, he would never be without expectations and responsibilities shoved into him from those around him.
Guys I’m so upset I just want to hold him. He deserved a loving, supportive home, where he should have had no expectations other than to be a child and to be loved. This is secretly a PSA that I fucking hate Albus Dumbledore for the pressure and the manipulation he put on Harry.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Also FUCK Jk Rowling

I think the reason I differ from a lot of Akechi fans (and I am sincerely a fan!) is that I don’t find his backstory all that sad or for that matter interesting. It might be because I see it more interesting analyzed as a warped reflection of Ken Amanda’s backstory rather than a unique story of its own. And his plan, I find it pathetic more than anything else, sad only in its level of sheer stupidity, shortsightedness and miserable ineffectuality of self obsessed teenager-hood. But that’s what’s compelling about it and him! in my eyes, what’s interesting and unique about his character and has the potential to tell new stories that haven’t been done before has nothing to do with his pain or his redemption, except when kept in conversation with the undeniable fact that his plan was an ass-backwards idiotic and selfish plan fueled on nothing but spite by a deeply self-centered child who grew into an egotistical young adult without any reckoning of how completely stupid and impossible it all was.

Okay, someone tell me if I’m the only person who thinks this, but I think if things had gone differently, Vi and Sevika would actually get along kinda well? Like, their biggest aspects to them is loyalty, even though it looks a little different between them. Sevika is more to the Undercity while Vi is loyal to the people she loves, but my POINT STANDS. And they’re both fighters, they have that in common, AND they’ve already beaten the snot out of each other twice now. That’s how you get to know someone.
Idk, I just feel like if things had gone differently and they hadn’t wound up on opposite sides, like if Sevika stayed with Vander instead of Silco, things would have been better between them and they might have actually gotten along

talking entirely character wise. do you think today was a bit of a wake up call for bad. do you think he heard red screaming out of their minds begging for toxic gas and thought about how they’ve lost their minds just a little bit. do you think that when he was given an immediate no when he asked where the red egg was to help them defend he understood how deep of a rift he created. do you think as he sat there silent while the rest of red cheered at killing the egg statue, he wondered if he could have pushed them a little too far. do you think that maybe, just maybe, with the red sun beating down on him in that desert, the gas mask team cheering and dancing, he felt for a single moment the consequences of his actions? that maybe, if he hadn’t started out so hostile with extreme tactics, if he hadn’t been so bloodthirsty and ruthless, if he had had just a little bit of hesitation, that his own attempts at diplomacy would have gone over better? that the rest of the teams would have listened? that red would have trusted his judgement on the egg statues, or at the very least respected him enough to honor an agreement? do you think he realizes that burning his bridges may have fucked him over?

Me through most of Boom: Wow, this is a really solid dramatic episode.
Me when Moffat needlessly sprinkles in anti-faith sentiments without specifying that it’s blind faith in bad things that the Doctor doesn’t like, which makes it come off like the Doctor is just against religion generally:
Tumblr media
#doctor who#dw critical#spoilers#dw spoilers#i get it edgelord you don’t care for religion. you don’t have to alienate religious members of the audience.#i at least appreciated that the doctor agreed with splice that gone and dead are different things and told her to keep the faith#but like. he immediately thereafter still tells mundy that he doesn’t like faith and spent the whole episode disparaging it.#which just feels so wrong for a show that’s supposed to be open minded about the beliefs and cultures all across the universe#i hate when writers gratuitously make the doctor take a hard and broad stance on something that he would NOT#reminds me of s8 when twelve suddenly hated all soldiers#as if some of his closest friends haven’t been soldiers? brigadier? benton and yates? sara?#big difference between corrupt military and literally every soldier#the same way there is a big difference between a corrupt religious organization or individuals who use religion as an excuse for cruelty#and like. ALL faith and the idea of having a faith that you live by whatsoever.#just because his comments were aimed at something corrupt doesn’t mean they weren’t WAY too sweeping as if he meant it on the whole#i definitely enjoyed the bulk of the episode but that just felt like it was done in bad faith and made me uncomfortable#and i just read moffat’s comment on the thoughts and prayers thing and UGH#i get why there are circumstances in which that can feel hollow — usually if it’s coming from a corporation that could actually do somethin#but can we not villainize all the normal people who genuinely mean that with love?#people who often CAN’T do anything but say prayers for you?#that IS a legitimate response and a legitimate action#someone can’t physically aid you but cares to take the time to talk to the God of the universe about you and your need and plead for you#don’t tell me that isn’t love or that it’s not really doing anything#sometimes that’s all you CAN do and it’s more than people give it credit for#blatant disregard and willful misunderstanding of faith like this just rub me wrong#it’s painting with a broad brush and it’s close minded#and yes i’m gonna post this. i’m feeling controversial.#my love/aggravation relationship with moffat continues#in the wise words of kira nerys. if you don’t have faith you can’t understand it and if you do then no explanation is necessary.

I’m Jacks biggest defender, I don’t even like him that much but I’m pretty sure that’s on purpose. Like everyone’s saying that “oh how dare he force Will to do all that in season 1” and like… yes but he’s also grieving his daughter figure being taken from him and it’s making him irrational, he doesn’t want more people to be like her and when his wife gets sick it also muddied it and he’s extremely preoccupied trying to make sure his wife is alive or whatever!! Like it shows how preoccupied he becomes because he wants her to be treated or whatever!!! And so he has to hope that Hannibal, the guy he hired to keep Will safe, is doing his job (he isn’t)
The scene where Will snaps at Jack and he’s told off is the episode where Jack is having problems with his wife and they’re building to the reveal of her cancer, but even before then in episode 3/4 we see Jack asking her if they can start a family, and then them having dinner with Hannibal and it reveals that Jack thinks she’s cheating on him. Like his life is MESSY!!! And sometimes when your life is messy you can help but bring it out on others!!! It’s not good but it happens and while you shouldn’t bring your baggage to a professional environment it happens sometimes.
It’s not his fault the guy he found to help Will is a fucking freak sicko (mildly affectionate)!!! Like if they told Jack that Will had encephalitis you KNOW he would have pulled him out of it but HE DIDNT KNOW BECAUSE HANNIBAL DIDNT FUCKING TELL HIM!!! And in season 2 he’s extremely guilty for pushing Will so far and he realises how preoccupied he was with his own ideals. And he wasn’t worried afterwards because WILL GOT FUCKING INTO IT!!! WILL WAS OBSESSED WITH CATCHING HANNIBAL TOO!!! SO OF COURSE JACK KEPT COMING TO HIM FOR IT BECAUSE HANNIBAL KILLED BEVERLY AS WELL IF YOU DIDNT FORGET!!!!
No excuse for him bothering Will for the events of the Red Dragon except that the book had the scene and he was desperate or whateva
Also don’t argue with me on this I will just tell you that you’re right and then continue on with my day

“Peeta’s a pacifist!!”
Yet Peeta said: “I want to die as myself(…)I don’t want them to change me in there. Turn me into some kind of monster I’m not(…)when the time comes, I’m sure I’ll kill just like everybody else. I can’t go down without a fight. Only I keep wishing I could think of a way to…to show the Capitol they don’t own me. That I’m more than just a piece in their Games.” In a world so violent, not killing anyone in the Games is an act of resistance.
Yet Peeta committed to giving one month of his earnings as victor to Rue and Thresh’s families every year for the rest of his life. He did this without consulting Effie, Haymitch, or Katniss.
Yet Peeta did not spend his training evaluation with the Gamemakers showing off his strength and skills, but painting a portrait of Rue, a victim of this system. He used art as resistance. And like Katniss, he receives the highest score as punishment and warning. After, Peeta said: “I just wanted to hold them accountable, if only for a moment…for killing that little girl.”
Tumblr media
When Peeta asked for a ceasefire, he was being held by the Capitol. And since the book is in Katniss’s point-of-view, we have no idea what he really was thinking. And after his torture, Peeta was in no state to have an opinion. His identity had been broken down and ripped from him. But evidence shows his constant acts of resistance.
Peeta is not a pacifist.
Addition: I forgot this happened…

I love Harry so fucking much but there’s something so incredibly dystopian about things like the fact that he’s at a sports event or his hair trending when he’s continued to stay silent on the genocide that is happening in Palestine

You said you were cooking lore, well I am interested. So if you don't mind sharing, what is it?
Ok, so it’s a little weird right now but basically…
Fun fact! The Old Lords weren’t always confined to Hatchetfield! They used to be gods ruling over the whole world, and each specifically ruled over a certain part of the world, one that’s already closely connected to mythology in real life.
I haven’t decided 100% how it goes, but right now I’m thinking Kindler had a fair chunk of Europe, specifically Greece and Rome, Rattler had Egypt (because death), and Gazer had Mesoamerica (because the Mayans were, rather famously, good astronomers). Stuff like that.
These were also the places they used to live in back when they were alive. So, yes, the Old Lords were mortal at some point too. It’s just that it’s been so long that, despite having gotten over their collective amnesia at some point just like the New Lords will, they forgot those lives anyways.
But then after an… incident, the Old Lords were confined to a tiny island that would eventually be known as Hatchetfield, and all evidence that they ever existed was scrubbed from existence by The Stars and replaced with evidence of their societies worshipping other, false gods.
What incident, may I ask? Well, Kindler tends to be very strict on even his most devout followers. And when your one and only god is that strict on you, and takes so much in return for giving so little, it’s likely a fair few people are going to want to find a better deity, unless you’re just that brainwashed.
And naturally, the God of the Sun and Flames is going to have a wide variety of powers. And due to his lair literally being one, Kindler always did love a good volcano.
So anyways, now you know how the Pompeii disaster happened.
