Sun + Moon Hot takes- part 3

Sag sun Aries moon: this combo seems loud asf lol. No seriously though you definitely are one of the loudest people in the room normally. This gives big class clown energy. This gives those kids in class that always did the most to make everyone laugh and sometimes it’d work well but other times it can be obnoxious. Also if not balanced with any earth placements I can see these people being extremely impulsive and immature you tend to jump into things fast and get burned along the lines. But because of your impulsive nature you have a lot of fun stories to tell others and also tend to have a lot more fun than most in general because of how spontaneous you are. This is a combo that is always doing something wild. Usually big extroverts that love meeting new people and seeing new places. Doesn’t like to be in one place too long. Lives life in the fast lane. They usually live life in a very rockstar kinda way (drugs, sex, rock and roll) vibe. Which is something I admire a lot on how they make life look so fun. Usually go by the motto “I’d rather die young than live a long boring life”.

Libra Sun Virgo moon: giving princess energy. I can imagine these people to be very feminine (even the men). These are probably the most well kept people when it comes to hygiene. They usually always look put together and are normally really pretty people. This puts a more introverted twist to the regular social lite Libra sun energy. Usually big perfectionists and can get anxiety when they don’t look their best or are giving the best impressions on others. These people’s anxiety can be CRIPPLING. Aquarius sun Leo moon: this combo is so cool to me. The people I’ve met with this combo are one of the funniest people ever. I’m usually not a fan of Leo moons but with an Aquarius sun I feel it balances the melodramatic attitude of Leo making them more cool like. They are really creative and usually can make a lot of $$ with anything social media related (highly recommended to get into YouTube, tik tok, podcasts) these people are so entertaining so normally they can get a big following. However many can have a difficult time forming relationships because they are very demanding and distant at times. Probably the most authentic person you’ve ever met. Their authenticity and rebellious streak is usually their golden ticket into getting such big followings and being so popular. These people are the definition of “idgaf” it’s so admirable.

Leo sun Capricorn moon: probably one of the most serious Leo combinations. I notice this combo is more anxious to shine than normal Leo suns. These people can surprisingly get embarrassed pretty easily. DO NOT clown these people or pick on them jokingly they will really crash out lmao. They hate when their character is diminished in any type of way. This gives big CEO energy, these people were the bosses of their family and friend groups. When they are immature this energy can cause a lot of issues in their relationships because of how bossy they can be. They can get carried away with controlling what people do and how they act which can be overwhelming for others. Gemini sun Leo moon: I apologize in advance to anyone with this combo but this gives ANNOYING😭 I can tell these were those bad ass kids growing up with the silver caps in their mouths (iykyk 🤣). Theres a very child like energy to this combo that can either come off as very sweet and refreshing or these people are little devils lmao. This gives Micheal Scott energy from the office. I can see these people being so fun in non serious activities such as partying and drinking and karaoke night but things like working with them can be like babysitting. This is probably the employee that pisses you off all the time but is lit asf to bring out to do fun stuff. I can imagine these people to be really good humored as well, could’ve also been a class clown or hung around a popular crowd. Usually is pretty loud about their opinions and can have a very dramatic flair with the way they talk. Usually are very animated which can be very entertaining to those around them. This people can make great entertainers and talk show hosts. Are AMAZING story tellers even if you can tell if some of what they say is exaggerated it’s still so interesting to hear.

Pisces sun Sag moon: this is a very interesting combo, both Jupiter ruled but with such opposite energies. This gives a light heartedness to the normally deep spiritual neptunian. These people also have a crazy good intuition. This can make some pretty intelligent people (Albert Einstein has this combo) their mind tends to be very theoretical, spiritual and philosophical. However with all this mutable energy it can be hard for them to organize their thoughts properly you have a tendency to drift from reality when things get too much. The restaurant was buzzing with Friday night energy, packed with diners enjoying warm meals and lively conversations. In the corner, a table of familiar faces was in the middle of a rare evening together: Lando, Charles, Alex, Carlos and Rebecca. They laughed between bites, enjoying the easy camaraderie and the chance to unwind.

“Carlos, you’ve outdone yourself,” Alex said, gesturing to her empty plate. “This place is fantastic.”

Rebecca nodded in agreement. “The food is great, and the vibe is perfect.”

“See?” Carlos said with a smug grin. “I know how to pick a good restaurant.”

Lando chuckled, but his focus wasn’t entirely on the table. His gaze kept drifting toward you—a waitress moving quickly between tables with a tray balanced on one hand. Your face was drawn in a tight smile, the kind that hid the exhaustion and tension in your shoulders.

“She looks stressed,” Alex said softly, following Lando’s gaze.

Before anyone could reply, a piercing shout cut through the restaurant.

“Are you out of your mind?”

The voice, shrill and furious, silenced the entire room. Every head turned toward the counter, where Amy, the restaurant’s owner, stood with her arms crossed and a look of pure venom directed at you.

You froze, holding a notepad in your hand, your face pale. “I just wanted to—”

“You just wanted to what?” Amy snapped, her voice rising even higher. “Waste more of my time? Make this restaurant look like a joke? Because that’s exactly what you’re doing!”

Lando stiffened in his seat, his eyes narrowing as he watched the scene unfold.

“What the hell is her problem?” Carlos muttered, his easygoing demeanor replaced with a frown.

“She’s unhinged,” Rebecca said under her breath.

Amy wasn’t done. She marched toward you, her heels clicking against the floor with purpose. “How hard is it to take an order? How hard is it to use your brain for once in your miserable life?”

“I—I just wanted to double-check the allergy order for Table 3,” you stammered, your voice barely audible.

Amy threw her hands in the air, her face contorted with rage. “Double-check? Oh, how thoughtful of you. Maybe if you weren’t so incompetent, you wouldn’t need to double-check anything! Do you realize how behind we are because of you? You’re a walking disaster!”

At their table, Alex’s jaw dropped. “She’s completely crazy.”

Charles nodded, his brow furrowed. “This is way out of line.”

Lando leaned forward, his fists clenched under the table. “I can’t believe this is happening.”

Amy wasn’t slowing down. Her voice grew louder, her insults sharper with each word.

“You’re an embarrassment,” Amy spat, her face inches from yours. “I don’t even know why I keep you around. You can’t take orders without screwing them up, you can’t carry plates without tripping over your own feet, and you sure as hell can’t handle even the simplest tasks without turning it into a catastrophe!”

Tears welled in your eyes, but you kept your head down, refusing to let them fall.

“Do you have any idea how many complaints I get because of you?” Amy continued, her voice dripping with venom. “Customers hate you. They don’t want to deal with your pathetic attitude or your slow service. You’re lucky I don’t fire you on the spot!”

“That’s enough,” Lando muttered, pushing back his chair.

“Don’t,” Charles said quickly, grabbing Lando’s arm.

“She’s humiliating her in front of everyone,” Lando shot back, his voice tight with anger.

Meanwhile, Amy leaned closer to you, her voice dropping to a low, menacing hiss. “You’re not just bad at your job. You’re a failure. And if you think anyone else would hire you after this, you’re delusional.”

At that, Lando stood abruptly, striding toward the counter. “Hey!” he called out, his voice ringing across the room.

Amy turned, her eyes narrowing as she looked him up and down. “What do you want?”

“I want you to stop screaming at her,” Lando said, his tone calm but firm.

Amy crossed her arms. “And who the hell are you to tell me how to run my business?”

“I’m someone who knows how to treat people with respect,” Lando said, his gaze steady.

Amy scoffed. “Respect? Don’t make me laugh. This girl doesn’t deserve respect. She can’t even do her job properly!”

Lando stepped closer, his voice hardening. “She’s doing her best, and all you’re doing is tearing her down. You’re not helping anyone. You’re just a bully.”

Amy’s face flushed red with anger. “You think you know how hard it is to run a business? You think you have any idea what I go through to keep this place afloat? She’s lucky to even have a job here!”

“No,” Lando said sharply. “She’s not lucky. She’s surviving, in spite of you.”

Amy let out a bitter laugh. “You don’t know anything about her. She’s useless. She’s always been useless. And if you think she’s worth defending, you’re just as stupid as she is.”

The room was deathly silent, all eyes on Lando and Amy.

“Here’s what I know,” Lando said, his voice steady and measured. “She’s been running around all night, trying to keep up, while you stand here and yell at her. She’s probably the reason half your customers haven’t walked out already. And instead of thanking her, you’re humiliating her in front of everyone.”

Amy opened her mouth to reply, but Lando cut her off.

“You don’t deserve employees like her,” he said. “And if this is how you treat people, you don’t deserve a business, either.”

Amy glared at him, her chest heaving with fury. “Get out of my restaurant,” she snarled.

Lando turned to you, his expression softening. “Come on,” he said gently. “You don’t need to stay here.”

Your eyes widened. “I—I can’t just leave,” you stammered.

“Yes, you can,” Lando said, his voice firm but kind. “You don’t owe her anything.”

Amy let out another bitter laugh. “Go ahead, leave. But don’t think for a second that you’ll find another job after this. No one wants a whiny, incompetent little—”

“Enough,” Lando snapped, his voice ringing with authority.

You hesitated, glancing between Amy and Lando. Finally, you took a deep breath and nodded.

Lando placed a reassuring hand on your back, guiding you toward the door. As you walked away, the restaurant erupted into applause, a show of support from the other diners who had witnessed the ordeal.

Outside, you finally let the tears fall, your shoulders shaking as you leaned against the wall.

“Hey,” Lando said softly, stepping in front of you. “You’re okay now. She can’t hurt you anymore.”

You looked up at him, your voice trembling. “Why did you do that?”

“Because you deserve better,” Lando said simply.

“Thank you,” you whispered.

Lando smiled back. “Anytime.”

Why do you always portray Marika as a moe type character?

because she's moe to me

in unserious fanart i'll exaggerate the moe too...........

but tbh before the DLC lore bomb dropped i did draw her as the cold emotionless figure... since i had no personality of her to put into those art, how i draw a character is usually effected by how lively they are in my head (how i view their story, how i think they interact with others, etc...).

and now i see her as the too human God, whose divinity could not erase the whimsical farm girl energy from her humble upbringing (*point at the Mimic veil*). plus, despite all the pain in her life, the image of her in Messmer's eyes, in Radagon's eyes (if he was the one commissioning those later statues) remain warm with a gentle smile. so all that piles up to my current portrayal of her.

i think it's really clear if you put her next to, say, how i draw Miquella who is supposed to look like her, but i always try to bring 2 different vibes in drawing them.

one born into royalty and carried a heavy heart from duties and sorrow for the world at such young age, while Marika imo still retained the doe eyes of an innocent human girl growing up in a field of flowers, free of any burden (before the cruelty of the world crashed down on her, that is)

HOW DOES YOUR PERSON FEEL ABOUT YOU? PICK-A-PILE ...

Pile (1) : Cut The BS

Cards:  Hanged man (reversed), Knight of Swords (reversed), Five of Wands, Sun, Two of Cups. Seven of Cups (reversed), Queen of Swords – at the bottom of the deck.

I live for the energy like this!  “Your person” has some ego issues rooted from insecurity- unbeknownst to them. There is so much to be said about your person which leads me to my next point. Your person feels like you see right through them and & they’re feeling shooketh that you had the audacity to call them out on it- Judge Judy style. They are mad (5 of wands) because whatever charm, innocence, or victimhood energy they try to exude doesn’t effectively manipulate you- like it does for everyone else. Due to the Leo influence with the Sun, I feel like for some of you who picked this pile- this was someone you just met, or barley knew. This is someone you were dating or talking to, regardless, the energy is new or surface level. Now as we know, the majority of people wear mask 24/7, especially when it comes to who they are dating and or getting to know i.e. impress. Emphasis on “as we know”. “Your person” didn’t think you’d know or be aware that they were presenting themselves as someone they are not. This is someone who projected their lies upon you. They were not being honest about their past failed relationships or their current dating status and worse- their sexual history. Therefore, if you told them for example, you haven’t been dating- they didn’t believe you. For those rare folks, you told them you’ve been abstinent – and they didn’t believe you. If you told them, you are a homebody- they didn’t believe you. If you told them that you’re looking for a committed relationship- they believed this and had intentions of taking advantage of your desires. This person had intentions of carrying out a fling, a situationships- friends with benefits, if you will. Meanwhile, you were clear (Judge Judy vibes) about wanting something more committed. Underneath the 7 of Cups (reversed) and Queen of Swords cards therein lie the 4 of Wands and 7 of Swords. Personally, I view the 7 of Swords card as the Devil and 7 of Cups all in one. (they’re one of the same) Let’s think about something for a moment. Home should be a safe place, correct? Imagine being home and someone is lurking outside your home with intent on robbing you…

Of course, if this is unbeknownst to you- what do not know cannot hurt you, but does ignorance prevent/ protect you from a lurker who intends on following through to rob, steal, kill or abuse you? NO.  I presented that analogy to confirm your Judge Judy energy in relationships. You are cautious and refuse to be that unknowing person who allows people into your life, bed, home, heart, and legs (4 of wands energy) - who have bad intentions for you in which are hidden. Again, you know people walk around with masks, constantly playing a role- a character. It’s gotten so bad that people believe they are who they pretend to be. Amazingly, the Two of Swords and Page of Wands are underneath the 7 of Swords and 4 of Wands. “Your Person” thought you were oblivious, unknowing, and blind. (they may wear glasses which would be symbolic for this person being blind but projecting that onto others- anyway)

I pulled more cards from the Kipper Oracle deck and two cards appeared. “The Official Person” which is equivalent to the Emperor and “The Lovers Card” (reversed) came out.  “Your person” may be older than you and truly thought they had an advantage over you. They are used to dealing with other “pages”, and assumed you were just another one they had under control. This is where the jokes kick in because they underestimated you. They thought you were dumb, desperate for a relationship and willing to fight/ compete for their affection. (their Sun) Meanwhile, you are The Queen of Swords (man or woman). In English, you are intelligent as hell and knew exactly what kind of person they were. They exposed themselves, unknowingly. 

(I love it here!- GOTCHA ) But back to my analogy, this is like you being in the comfort of your home and whoever is lurking outside thinking they’re going to successfully rob you, actually ends up getting exposed at the last minute when they realize their being recorded or you have weapons or barking dogs. Some of you have a strong intuition or mind and see through the facades people portray.

(Now, to clarify though it’s not necessary because you already “peeped the scene”.)

 For laughs and giggles, let’s clarify the Hanged One (reversed) and the Knight of Swords (reversed) that’s hiding behind the Sun. Okay, the Eight of Wands, Queen of Pentacles, Ten of Wands, and the Queen of Wands came out. I think these Queens are one of the same. (not different people) For me, this means that this person was unaware (hanged one reversed) that a lot of you have been on a Self-Love (Queen of Pentacles) journey (Eight of Wands).  Another thing, they weren’t aware of (hanged one reversed) about you was that you’ve been through a lot (Ten of Wands) to become this strong, no nonsense and confident person (Queen of Wands- male or woman).

The joke continues because the King of Swords came out and the card is positioned looking at all the cards that I just clarified with the Queen of Wands and Queen of Pentacles. (The energy just abruptly stopped) The King of Swords is Aquarius energy and the abrupt stop in the reading indicates for me, someone who is dumbfounded. Imagine the face of someone who you just BEAT OR PROVED WRONG. They just sit there looking dumb, silent, and baffled. (This person (has realized that they LOST AT THEIR OWN GAME) The reading has finished, however, I’m not done dissecting this. I feel like you came across this person to teach them a lesson. According to Vedic Astrology, Saturn is in Aquarius, and this explains why this person came out as King of Swords with energy of abruptly stopping. Another reason I feel you came across this person was because this was a test for you. It feels like watching a play and then the scene cuts off. AND SCENE.

In conclusion, this person was just a person. They were never intended to be a permanent figure in your life. I had to shuffle twice for this pile. The first spread that came out did not make any sense. I wasn’t surprised because the 8 of Swords appeared. Immediately, I knew I didn’t want to be bothered. So, I decided to shuffle for a new spread. This may be symbolic for how you are feeling, thinking and or moving at this time. If someone brings confusion, stress, or annoyance – you are throwing the entire situation away. ZERO TOLERANCE. (YASSSS, SLAY) But let’s get down to business.

(mind you, I’ve started shuffling now)

Your person views you as mature and they are currently in their thoughts about you. (I pulled two cards from the Kipper oracle deck and “Mature Woman/Man and “Thoughts” cards appeared) This pile may be a continuation to Pile 1. You know looking back on it, rewatching some stuff, I don’t think stuff like the weird stuff Four was doing during Meme Factory and surrounding episodes was him necessarily relapsing because he was never not Like That. (Love him he is so character flaws but also full of silliness and care about friends but bad at friends)

All this and also he way he treated the Leggys was so similar to whatever he was doing to the Toads at the start of what would become the whole IGBP fiasco

This man has 2 objectives in life: make memes and love and protect his friends. He WILL forget which one is more important. Not sure he actually learned much from IGBP I think he’s just burdened with guilt without full understanding of what he actually did wrong.

I MEAN. Immediately after all that Mario invites Four to live with him! After Mar10 day!! With zero hesitation and so much excitement! Despite everything that just happened Mario is still so excited that his best friend will be staying with him! He hasn’t gotten to spend time with SMG4 in so long, and now they get to live together! (Mario is so good in this episode. The well intentioned silly guy!) But SMG4 is pretty quickly fed up with everything Mario does. (What was he expecting?)

He’s back at it. Four, this is Mario’s house and he’s minding his own business frankly. These are normal Mario activities. Yes there are noises but c’mon. Someone tell SMG4 to invest in some headphones for when he’s editing.

You’d think, given the circumstances, Four would be a little more patient with what are pretty standard and honestly relatively tame Mario antics. But…

Right back to the same kind of stuff. Brushing off and being grouchy with best friend who just wants to hang out with him so bad. Because doing his meme stuff is just so important. (Four you idiot you’re supposed to be doing the meme stuff WITH Mario, though, because that’s your Avatar and also Four making memes of Mario is shown to help stabilize him by like siphoning out excess meme energy or however it works. Like that’s a whole ‘nother layer to all this. Four is like Mario’s pharmacist and the meds is making memes of him. Utterly bizarre and screwed up situation)

He has learned next to nothing I love that for him. Genuinely. Traumatic event of Eldritch Horrors does not erase character flaws of bad priorities and being unable to recognize how far is too far. SMG4 be niceys to Mario challenge (difficult but not impossible.) (He can be niceys sometimes)

More reasons Four shouldn’t bring things contaminated with Puzzles’ bad vibes and evil goop to the Showgrounds, which is also contaminated with Puzzles’ bad vibes though there is no confirmed evil goop.

I keep bringing this up. But it’s just cause I’m very worried. And they’re yet to have a episode where they set up the new rides and stuff and so I’m just marinating this in my brain until something happens.

Just… the fact that the Showgrounds used to belong to Puzzles, and nothing much has come from that yet, aside from the implication that maybe it was his first (failed) attempt at an amusement park. And now Four’s bringing more Mr Puzzles stuff there when it’s explicitly shown that the demonic goop from IGBP is present in Puzzle Park… and there’s the fact that Four himself may or may not still be carrying it in some way.

And while he’s fine so long as meme-making/his channel isn’t in any sort of conflict with what his friends want or are doing , when they are he falls into old habits and often picks the wrong one as the bigger priority. He’s still doing the stuff that brought on the perfectionist goop horrors in the first place, all while bringing things afflicted by the goop to his home. (There’s also the matter of SMG4 Inside Out, where he displays character development when he is fairly polite and good to Mario who has interrupted his editing to demand milk, despite Four’s first thought being “Let’s murder this guy please” curtesy of his inner anger, Bob. Four is good to Mario until Mr Puzzles invades his brain. Is he still in there?) It can’t end well.

Well it can end well for us because maybe it can end in the parallels I won’t shut up about finally being acknowledged. Can’t end well for SMG4 though.

(Also with the Showgrounds becoming a proper fairgrounds with the addition of rides from Puzzle Park we get the opportunity for Puzzles to be like “That blue idiot is living MY dream!” When he eventually gets out of the institution. And Three could respond with like “Been there but at least I was never this pathetic about it” I dunno man.)

Family By Choice actors Hwang Inyeop, Jung Chaeyeon, and Bae Hyunsung’s Marie Claire Korea October 2024 Issue photoshoot and interview

While they bickered throughout the shoot, the warmth they showed soon after made it clear that we don’t even need to ask about the chemistry between the three actors.

Bae Hyunsung: Earlier, during the last cut, noona (Jung Chaeyeon) was happily running ahead, and we followed her from behind. The drama set felt similar to that. Noona would lead the atmosphere, and we would just follow along, saying, “Yeah, let’s go.”

Jung Chaeyeon: I was like a ray of sunshine, hahaha.

Hwang Inyeop: When we were filming in Gyeongju during peak cherry blossom season, the blossoms fell quickly within a few days. I was lamenting how quickly spring passed, and Chaeyeon said, “Why are you sad? It's here right now,” with a laugh. She really was that kind of presence.

Jung Chaeyeon: I’m thankful that even when I made such bold comments, they were always well received. Maybe because the characters in the drama were affectionate, the set was really harmonious. (Everyone falls silent for a moment.) Wasn’t it?

Hwang Inyeop: Yes, it was. (laughs)

The word "harmonious" is typically used for families, but hearing it makes me realize it applies to colleagues as well.

Jung Chaeyeon: It really was like that. We clicked exceptionally well, so it felt comfortable.

This vibe seems to be reflected in the drama Family By Choice. From the preview, the relationships between the three characters seem warm and affectionate, like both family and friends.

Bae Hyunsung: Exactly. When I first read the script, it felt warm. Although each character has their own pain and sorrow, their efforts to overcome it also felt heartwarming.

Hwang Inyeop: While working on this project, I cried a lot and laughed a lot. All three characters are bright, but you can sense their sadness underneath. They live brightly, even though they carry sadness.

Bae Hyunsung: That’s how it is for everyone, right? Life can be tough, but when you're with someone you love, you're happy just being together, and you smile. But sometimes, when you look into each other’s eyes, you can feel sadness. We had a lot of scenes where we looked into each other’s eyes, and I often felt that emotion.

Jung Chaeyeon: I think I was drawn to this drama because of that warmth.

How did each of you interpret and explore your characters—Sanha (Hwang Inyeop), Juwon (Jung Chaeyeon), and Haejun (Bae Hyunsung)?

Jung Chaeyeon: Juwon is a person full of energy and brightness, though there are underlying reasons for that. I tried to bring out the most positive and bright side of myself. When something happens, Juwon doesn’t try to look at things from the side or the back but approaches them in a straightforward and simple way. That’s her style, and I tried to think that way as well.

Bae Hyunsung: Unlike Sanha and Juwon, Haejun is, in a way, a character who is completely alone. He receives a lot of love and support from his friends and family, but at the same time, he feels burdened by it. I once lived with my uncle’s family for a short time during my childhood, and I remember feeling a strange sense of pressure then. I tried to recall that feeling while thinking about Haejun. Essentially, it was a process of suppressing sorrow and amplifying brightness.

Hwang Inyeop: Every time I play a new character, I try to get as close to them as possible, but I wonder if it’s ever possible to completely understand them. It’s hard enough to fully know oneself, right? So, I always approach characters without the assumption that I know them entirely. But interestingly, with Sanha, at some point, it felt less like I was interpreting and expressing him and more like I was absorbing him. It wasn’t about thinking, “Sanha is somewhere out there,” but more like, “What I’m doing is Sanha.” Compared to Juwon and Haejun, Sanha is quieter and more relaxed, but there are moments when he suddenly bursts out. I tried to express that without second-guessing myself, and I think it came through well when I watched the monitor. (laughs)

It sounds like the moment you felt fully immersed in your characters and the story was quite valuable. In a way, that could be the purpose of exploring and acting out these roles.

Hwang Inyeop: The process of the three of us becoming “us” in the story was similar to that. All of us are pretty shy in real life, but in the drama, we’re portrayed as friends who have been extremely close since childhood. I was worried about how we could quickly build up that chemistry, but once we started filming, we just naturally became “us.” There’s a scene where Haejun is playing basketball, and Sanha and Juwon are cheering him on. While shooting that scene, I found myself genuinely rooting for him. That was the day I felt, “Now we’ve really become ‘us.’”

Now that filming is over, it seems none of you are ready to let go of your characters. What does Family By Choice mean to each of you?

Jung Chaeyeon: I’m not sure how the behind-the-scenes footage of the last filming day will turn out, but all three of us cried a lot. We cried so much that the director had to shoot other scenes first and save our trio’s scene for the last. It was especially hard to say goodbye to this project, so it will stay in my heart for a long time. When describing our drama, people use words like youth, romance, and warmth. For me, the few months of filming truly felt like my youth. I worked hard, I was passionate, I had fun, and I was really happy.

Bae Hyunsung: That’s right. Even after a long time has passed, I don’t think I’ll feel distant from it.

Hwang Inyeop: I’m glad that the sincerity came through. I always try to be sincere, but that’s not always easy. It’s not necessarily bad when it isn’t. Sometimes, sticking to each person’s goals and desires leads to better results. But when everything aligns and feels right, that’s the best, because it’s rare and precious.

Jung Chaeyeon: This is the first time we’ve met after a month and a half since filming wrapped up. Usually, there’s a bit of hesitation or distance in those situations. But today, we started joking around right away, and I realized, “We really have become friends.” I think we’ll stay in touch for a long time.

Hwang Inyeop: Maybe it’s because we worked together on this project, but in some ways, the three of us seem alike. None of us get angry easily, and we’re all quite bright… or am I not? (laughs)

Jung Chaeyeon: You’re not dark. We are similar.

Earlier, when you all burst into laughter at the same time, I thought your cheerful energy was alike. You’ve definitely become friends. (laughs)

Bae Hyunsung: In the drama, we play family and best friends, and I think we’ve become something like that, too.

Hwang Inyeop: We all have bright personalities at the core. Each of us has a different vibe, though. Hyunsung is gentle, Chaeyeon is lively, and I… I don’t know. (laughs)

Your past life may have been revolving around being a worker child or not being able to actually have a free life. You either were a slave or indeed at the service of your family or a boss. Something prevented you to be able to actually decide for yourself. Maybe you have seen your dreams crashing down (for some it may have happened later on in your life: you were probably sold to someone rich kinda suddenly, either to work for them or to marry them or you had to work in some "pleasure house" for example) or you had to stay hidden (like mining or working somewhere underground), but anyway your life depended on someone else's decisions. It wasn't yours. And the realization of this fact hit you greatly.

I am totally getting Oliver Twist vibes. You were a pure soul that only wanted to enjoy their life but never really could, and for sure not on their own terms. All you did that you may not be proud of was for a reason and was to save yourself and live another day. You probably had to steal food or something like that. I think this character a bit introverted, shy, closed off, not fully able to trust others, and always on alert, is what you brought from that life in this.

You had friends, younger siblings or at least a few companions, but most of the times (and most of you) had to find ways to survive on your own and think about yourself first. You very likely tried to take care of them, when you could though, but you couldn't always save them. You're probably still a bit closed off though, shying away from connections even unconsciously. Maybe you had to work for your family and couldn't really get away from that/had no choice. Maybe your whole family was working as slaves somewhere. Or any of the other situations I mentioned above... the message here is kinda straight forward. And it involves you not being free or having the ability to be in control of your life in whatever way. Maybe at first you had to obey your father and then you got sold to another rich man when your family got poorer? Something like that too.

Whatever that was, the suggestion is to try and listen to your inner guidance. Not everyone is out to control you or take advantage of you, and you need to take control of your life as well. And you can. You're free. Even if it seems scary and uncomfortable (it's supposed to be so: you aren't used to that, your soul is still in that fearful place). Take baby steps, learn who to trust, and do it fully for once. Let go and live your present life, at any cost. You're here for that, remember. Others have their lives to enjoy already. Respect others, thank them for their interest in you if necessary but do what you want of your own life, you owe no explanation to anyone. And you can be seen and listened to. Don't hide away.

I think it may be something related with blood. Maybe a tragic death or a death of any type. Something you feel has dirtied you, or changed you and your life. I keep hearing "stain". You probably now may fear about being imperfect, flawed, not good enough or "staining" your imagine in any type of way, not looking so perfect and deserving as you'd like to be.

You probably still fear your inner darker parts, you see them as mistakes, as things that shouldn't be there. You may try obsessively or compulsively to clean yourself (I'm seeing someone trying hard to clean white clothes from blood stains), by trying to avoid considering those parts, or hiding them, fearing being judged. I feel in your past life you may have been considered guilty of something, like ending or ruining something. Could be a marriage, or even a life. Maybe you were considered a witch/sorcerer too, accused of bringing plagues or bad luck in your village.

I feel you bring within you this pain, this fear of being accused (which may have actually happened irl) also of things you have no control or power on, that don't depend (solely or at all) on you. And that you cannot make better cause again they do not depend on you. You may also have some control issues. You probably were lied to a lot (but mostly in this life). You are also probably scared of being wrong or making mistakes of any type and again not been considered as perfect/right all the times. You may also have problems with criticism and tend to take it personally, even when that's not the intention behind it. You may occasionally project on others too, to defend yourself in particular (or to ask for help, but in an indirect or unconscious way). You were probably gaslighted in your past too and learned to self gaslighting, and may have learned to be ligthly manipulative to defend yourself.

I think you are supposed to heal this trauma by stopping causing yourself this pain, hiding yourself or parts of yourself in fear of not being accepted or accused of things that you cannot control (people judge or project on you from their own trauma, it's not your fault and it won't be like this with everyone). Be you, learn to embrace also the darkest parts within, as we all are made of dark and light. And there's no shame in that. Bring love to yourself. Accept yourself first, so to allow yourself to be accepted by the people that you really deserve in your life (and not by those you may want but don't actually need). Take a breath and listen to the intentions behind others' words too. Again, not everyone is here to come after you and accuse you or make you feel any less of who you are. See your worth despite any stain you may want to wash away: to actually do that, you need to accept them first. To actually see those parts not as a problem as you were probably taught to, but as a part of your self solution. There's nothing wrong in you.

Ofc this is what you're bringing in this life too, as if the present life wasn't enough complicated and relationships not hard enough for everyone. May it be your karma? Give yourself the chance to try and also to be wrong, to not finding your people yet. Rome wasn't buildt in a day. Take time, get accostumed. The more you try, the more you know yourself, who you are and what you can give (and deserve to get), the more the people that are willing to balance that part of you will be attracted in your life. Believe in this. Take control of your emotions and your mind. You are better than those who hurt you in any of your lives. Show them that.

Take control over your pain, and allow this internal change. It will probably pain you as well, but it is just the last step before things will get better. You're a very sensible soul, and that's so impressive seeing how harsh and hateful we're becoming as humans. Try to not let these emotions take you over though. Find your space, your place to distress. We need you here with us, even if sometimes things seem so unbearable... I know you can bear with them still, I can feel it. Find your own reasons to convince yourself. Ask for help, reach out for people (I'm here if you want, just don't be afraid that I or anyone else won't understand you or think you're a burden cause that's not true), talk, write or search for your personal signs to stay. The energy reminds me a bit of Jeanne D'Arc, but even more of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald, Francis Scott Fitzgerald's wife (the guy who wrote "Tender is the night" and "The great Gatsby", eg. Not sure if you have seen the serie about her and how they met, but if so you may get what I mean). As her, you probably were interested in writing too. And you were good. You liked doing something that was new, or not seen as "good/standard" for your gender (if you even recognized yourself in any). Ofc you didn't care and just did whatever that was. But you also lost a lot in the process (probably people from your family or environment left you aside, and you pretended you didn't care), and got burned many times (I swear I don't mean this as a pun, also cause tbh Jeanne D'Arc came up on a second thought after I had already written this).

I think you're bringing this energy in your life as well. The will to take control of your life and dreams is still very strong, as the will to not stress too much but simply trying to enjoy and do your best. It feels like you already have a clear call. But there's this void still in you. This need to not be left out, to be appreciated, to not be left alone. To be supported. To feel love, any type of love, at no cost. To give love and receive love, unconditionally. Something inside still feels scared that if you really let it all out, if you let this energy take over and followed your call, you may end up being seen as someone that needs to be left aside, to be let down, as a bad influence... or crazy. Not understood. Especially from the people you want and need to be loved by the most. You fear being abandoned by your family, friends, lovers... on different levels. For different reasons. Still, you probably started people pleasing and do as they asked you without blinkin' an eye, so to not give others the chance to leave (spoiler, but you prob. know already: they leave anyway) and to feel loved, so to not feel their anger and disdain on you.

Whatever is the reason/trigger behind your actual fear of abandonment and reaction, the only suggestion is to try and remember your worth in any given moment; to work from a loving place (towards yourself too), to talk with them openly, to show them how much you want whatever you want and believe you can make it, to maybe find compromises with them (if you need to), to go slower than you probably did in your past life (you wanted it all and "now", very likely. You never really considered the possible consequences of your actions/decisions beforehands. Take time to enjoy each step, be steady but do not rush. Get accostumed, let others do the same). Don't be scared to stand up for yourself and disappoint others. Communicate your feelings, all of them. These fears in particular. Ask clearly to be supported instead of being criticized. And talk with yourself about this too. How much do you want that? "You have the key to it all".

i like the chorus but could do without the guards' parts. kylie sounded really good on the verses and the "red, red, red, red" parts but i don't know how i feel about the "set it off, go berserk" parts yet

was sung for literally 30 seconds but brandy and paolo sounded good. the pacing of the song was a bit off to me, like i swear the song sped up at moments (SPECIFICALLY at the "so this is what makes life divine). it was a very pretty rendition though

Marcia Brady: The personification of Leo energy; every notable actress who's ever played her is a Leo, and for good reason. I love Lucy, but Ethel was always the standout for me. Her comedic timing was impeccable, her singing voice was unreal, and she represented so much of what I love about the older women in my life. Her sense of self is fixed, she's comfortable about her place in the world and has discovered who she is. She's such a loyal friend and has the type of talent that comes only from a lifetime of concentrated effort. The Little Mermaid: Ariel's fire, passion, and complicated nature is something I've continued to revisit from the first time that I've met her. She's messy, flawed, but so vulnerable, authentic, and likable that you can't help but root for her. I think anyone who's LGBTQIA+ can identify with her struggles but, beyond that, I love how true to herself she is, refusing to be tainted by the prejudices of others. She's just generally a very active, restless character with so many ebbs and tides of thoughts, feelings, and desires. Rapunzel (from the original Brothers Grimm fairytale): Out of the fairytale princesses, Rapunzel always spoke to me the most. I always loved the princess in the tower archetype and her hair being such a central point of the plot- and harkening back to the sun- is a very Leo quality, in my opinion. I think the fairytale Rapunzel has a lot of the same spirit and energy that Aurora in the animated Sleeping Beauty carries. Mary Costa's Aurora: This character changed my life in so many ways. She brought my best friends to me, started me down the path of writing, and has enriched my life in so many ways. I'm mesmerized by her enchanted, romantic quality, the all-encompassing way she loves, her sense of duty, obligation, and loyalty to those around her, her keen sense of humor, how she wants to give the best of herself to everyone, the unending source of love that springs from her...I could go on forever.

Kids on Hoverboards, by kandi_jeanne.

The year is 2030 and the world is very technologically advanced. Hoverboards have finally been invented (a little later than Back to the Future predicted). All the kids have them! Hover cars are becoming more popular. No one carries cell phones anymore. Everyone has a band on their wrist that brings up a virtual display. There are teleports, but only some people have them. 

This is hack for Kids on Bikes/Brooms for a GM plus at least one player. All the rules from the KOB systems are used in addition to a few found in this adventure hack. 

The Kids on Bikes system is great for kids working through mysteries and solving problems, and this book takes that system and puts it in a futuristic world.  It might not match Jet Set Radio exactly, but the rumours and mysteries of a futuristic world might work well for dealing with overbearing corporations - a pair of rollerblades and a can of paint is something a kid can easily get their hands on, and if you want to age up your characters a little, this system handles such tweaks pretty well!

The biggest downside to this option is that it requires the Kids on Bikes Rulebook to play, and it seems designed for a very specific adventure hook. However it’s free, so it’s worth picking up for inspiration if nothing else!

You've just crested the top of the hill and your body is pure momentum. Cracked asphalt rockets away beneath you, the scrolling stone moving in time to the rattling of the wheels on your board. Ahead of you, at the bottom of the hill, is the banner. The end of the race. And between you and that banner is the seagull-headed man you've been feuding with for weeks.

His wild eyes roll back to look at you for a moment, and then his mouth unhinges in a feral scream of triumph. Sunshine City's been getting weird lately, but you don't let this shake you. Between you and the gullman is a parked landscaping truck. Two-by-fours dangle off of the back, onto the street, forming a natural ramp if you have courage enough to try and skate it.

And you have courage enough.

360 Heartgrab is a 28 page tabletop roleplaying game about weird skaters shredding asphalt, going on adventures, and growing to care about each other.

It is heavily influenced by Sk8 The Infinity and Golden Sky Stories, and it is both competitive and diceless.

This is a very recent release, by a creator who consistently releases games that grab my attention. Compared to Jet Set Radio it’s less anti-authoritarian and a bit more weird, but its goal is to provide the same rush of adrenaline as you hurdle down ramps and over obstacles. If you like diceless games that push your characters to great feats, you might want to check out this game - and if you want to put in a bit more magic, you can also check out the Zone Magic add-on, written by the same author!

The Color of Everything, by Happy Jak Games.

Welcome to the world of Chromia, where colors are more vibrant, music more pure, and everyone lives to create something wonderful. Artists work together in their specialty every day to make the world a better place. Here Illustrators can blast out color with a swish of their paint brush. Animators can bring every day objects to life. Musicians write and play music to bring happiness to everyone.

It was a wonderful world until the DeSats invaded, led by the twisted Discordant who wanted everything for themselves. They sent out their twisted Shades to drain color. Dissonants slipped into the sounds of the world to corrupt their harmony, while Hammer-Heads bashed the hard work of the Sculptors.

Discordant and their DeSats struck fast and hard, toppling major cities across the world. All seemed lost, until the teenagers of IntenCity rose up to fight back. You are a group of those teens, banding together to weave your skills together and bring color, music, and life back to the world and bring down Discordant and their DeSats.

If what you really want to focus on is the artistic creativity and the freedom of expression in Jet Set Radio, you could pick up The Colour of Everything and add in rollerblades. The Confidence and Resolve attributes could potentially serve as base stats for rollerblading, and you might want to add on a new Medium of painting or tagging to really fill it out. The game comes with some example antagonists along with lore and stats, but the entire game is only about 5 pages long. Worth checking out!!!

Slugblaster, by Mikey Hamm.

In the small town of Hillview, teenage hoverboarders sneak into other dimensions to explore, film tricks, go viral, and get away from the problems at home. It’s dangerous. It’s stupid. It’s got parent groups in a panic. And it’s the coolest thing ever.

This is Slugblaster. A table-top rpg about teenagehood, giant bugs, circuit-bent rayguns, and trying to be cool.

Honestly I feel like Slugblaster has the most potential to really knock it out of the park when it comes to matching the feel of Jet Set Radio. On the tin, it looks like a skateboarding kind of game but everything is modd-able and switching out your skateboards for rollerblades is the easiest thing to do. When it comes who who you’re rebelling against, there’s three or four authorities in the book, and room to write even more! The game is about jumping through portals, away from your dull small town, but there’s also a great list of options of places other than Hillview, written by various authors around the world, as well as tips on how to hack the game in case the multiverse isn’t your jam.

Magic

When it comes to fantasy, you'll notice that every book has their own magic system. Some use runes, some use magical orb things, some make it so humans already have magic because of their surroundings and learn to cast it in schools, etc. There is one thing I struggled with though -- how do I make the magic for my world unique?

First, I thought about everything I enjoyed in media. I liked end of the world movies, I like post apocalyptic shit, I love the idea of dangerous magic that could kill people and I also loved any books that had demons in. Keeping this in mind, I began worldbuilding.

In this post I'm going to be talking a lot about my book Above The Surface which is book one of the ASTAMICIA series just to give you an idea of how you can make literally anything work in your fantasy world, no matter how far fetched it may seem.

MAGIC BACKSTORY

Astamicia is the name of the magic that originates from the asteroid hovering just outside the Earth’s atmosphere. When parts of the asteroid break of, each part contains Astamicia within it. When it enters the planet’s atmosphere, it unfreezes and spreads throughout the land upon impact. The reason for the asteroid remaining as stationary as it does is currently unknown. 

This is actually a chapter from a worldbuilding book I made explaining in detail how the magic in the ASTAMICIA universe works in the form of a journal belonging to one of the side characters who is a scientist. Here I introduce the backstory of the magic but don't give its origins away. This is the prologue to my book and as you can see I added some of the things I enjoyed; end of the world vibes, post apocalyptic, corrupted governments (sort of), etc. What the readers don't know is the origins of the magic itself so for all they know it could have been a natural occurring thing. I love the type of magic that has a history, a story behind its development, something I can build on in later chapters if I don't necessarily want to write an action packed one. In a sense it can work as filler but still carry the plot.

Different energies

PE - Positive energy is naturally in the world, in every living being, tree, and creature. It’s created from positive memories, experiences, and life itself. 

NE - Neutral energy, the balance between both PE and DE. Combined it keeps plant growth at a minimum and prevents the spread of deadly vines. 

DE - Demon energy. Made purely from negative emotions, abuse, bad memories, everything negative. This stuff poisons the land, creatures and people, sometimes creating disgusting individuals. If someone is completely corrupted by this energy, they will lose themselves to sinful behaviour, allowing a demon to take over the host’s mind. 

Another chapter from my worldbuilding book. Adding different types of energies allowed me to incorporate demons in a way that made sense. So when it comes to creating your magic system potentially have it so different powers exude different energies. Hell, your main character could have the ability to cast multiple types of these energies but don't have the right body to do so.

But don't just focus on the magic system. Also think about the issues the magic can bring, the corruption, the change in command, the arrogance, the downsides of having too much of the stuff. Oh, and don't worry about rushing to explain everything immediately in the first book, especially if it's a series. Give hints, make your readers doubt the theories they come up with, etc, but don't treat them like idiots -- let them see a scene and remember something you had foreshadowed before that makes them go 'holy shit', you know?

If you want to focus on an action packed fantasy book then maybe a backstory to your magic isn't necessarily something you want to focus on which is, of course, perfectly fine!

However, if you're going with a more adventure, slow paced book that you hope to turn into a series then backstories for most things is a good idea.

Fantasy action books allow your readers to instantly connect with characters and it'll make them eager to read the battle scenes. Fantasy adventure with a side of romance is where you want to slow things down at first and then pick up the pace as the story goes on. Keep your target audience in mind also, just to make sure you're staying on the right track.

Thoughts on ds9 main cast as DnD classes

Sisko: Is it possible to be a warlock without being the initiating party? Actually scratch that, depending on how you interpret the whole thing with his mother and the prophets, he could be a sorcerer. I don't think he's a paladin because to me the defining feature of a paladin is the oath; Sisko is initally reluctant to being the Emissary and even tries to hand off the responsibility to someone else, partially out of genuine belief they might be better suited to the job. The fact that sorcerers don't chose their power is a defining characteristic, and not all sorcerers are from a bloodline. Some have a somewhat random awakening, like Sisko’s entering the wormhole. They don't learn new magic from books; they discover new abilities through the course of life, which reminds me of the episode with his visions.

Kira: Paladin. She becomes the person she is by dedicating herself to a cause wholly and completely, she never strays from it, and she's still devoted to it to this day, to the point where she gets chosen as a vessel for the prophets during the show down that wasn't. Alternatively: you could argue monk, and say her cloister was her terrorist cell, but I don't know it's as strong as the argument for paladin. That said, I am biased.

Dax: I struggled with her, not gonna lie. I feel like her massive jock energy is a known quantity, but she's also the science officer and clearly does a lot of research. I feel like you could most safely argue warlock- like I said for Sisko, sorcerers don't choose their path, and while joining could be similar to the outside influences in sorcerers, the process itself is a choice and ultimately similar to the mutually beneficial pacts warlocks carry out.

O'Brien: his face is next to the entry for "artificer". But if we were sticking to the core classes, I think his vibe is pretty close to those posts about Wizards as IT support technicians. You don't have to be a special guy to be a wizard, you just learn your trade.

Bashir: Sorcerer, but in a hypothetical DnD AU, not the usual way where your grandmother was a dragon fucker. More of in a horrible experiment way. However, he either intentionally multiclasses or pretends to be something else, and I think that's a ranger. From DnD beyond's single sentence summary: "(A ranger is) a warrior who combats threats on the edges of civilization". Now, the stuff in the rulebook isn't necessarily the best or only conceptualization of what a class is, but Julian does have that infamous line from the pilot. From a character analysis standpoint (though not an game mechanics one) you could argue disease is a favored enemy.

Worf: He's definitely a martial heavy class, not a primarily casting class. He doesn't fit as a barbarian at all, I don't think he's got a particular devotion that makes an oath for a paladin, and I don't believe he has a spiritual element to his character found with monks (admitting of course, that I'm not familiar with TNG). He does have the solitary style rangers are associated with in ds9, but not the nature association. You could argue that by serving in Starfleet, he, like Julian, is protecting a civilization from the outskirts as someone politically involved in the Klingon Empire. And even draw in his decision to live on the Defiant into this. You could also say he's a straightforward fighter.

Odo: I think you could make an argument for Odo as a paladin- his commitment to his idea of justice and fairness is very oath like, but I also find the read of paladins as cops kind of boring and not getting at the meat of what a paladin is. You could argue druid because of the shapeshifting and the idea of balance found in the class vs his idea of justice, but I feel like overall changelings focus more on a mastery over nature than being an extension of it, and that's pretty antithetical to druids when played as standard.

Quark: I do not think he is a rogue. To be fair, we see his failed schemes because those are the interesting ones, but Quark stans to my understanding like his middle aged fail babygirl vibe. I'm not sure what else he would be though... he's a decent negotiator and a good people person, so a high charisma class. That leads me towards bard, though Quark isn't much of an artist or speech maker.

Garak: hot take! Hot take alert from the known clown! Rogue/Paladin multiclass. Rogue is obvious- its a favorite for spy type characters. However- the third episode Garak is in, we learn about his sheer devotion to Cardassia, and how he classifies it as love. Paladins aren't the way they are because of religion (though that's often a big element), it's because of devotion. And that devotion can be deeply destructive. Plus- tell me, upon thinking about it, that afterimage isn't an oathbreaker level breakdown.
