Laws of Attraction (Sat iQIYI) 2-3 of 8 - Oh good, we now know that Thailand has the same statutory rape laws as the US. Dub con is as dub con does. MEANWHILE Oh my God I love evil lawyer cutie so much. Him and his beautiful weaponized smile, maybe my new favorite character. I like the way this director is playing with noir mystery tropes, settings, and archetypes too - it’s feeling very 60s pulp, I’m getting gay Travis McGee vibes. Grandma knowing that her grandson likes boys is so sweet. I have to be completely frank here, this is what I wanted from both Manner of Death and KP. I truly love this show

Hidden Agenda that isn’t hidden (Sun GMMTV YouTube) ep 3 of 10 - It’s a very Cyrano de Bergerac kind of narrative... If Cyrano fell in love with Christian instead of Roxanne. Mock date was fun.

The friends protecting Dino’s interests were funny tho - boy is so obsessed he outsources his stalking.

Still, I’m scared that the perception will be that Bu Xia is using Jiang Chi, not in love with him, when the truth about ghosts comes out. Why doesn’t BX’s useless sister do something for her disaster brother? I guess JC likes a needy boy? Oh no, the kiss confusion. Lip touch but rejection (?). Nooooo. I suppose they have to draw this out for 10 eps. Gah, they’re so cute. But BX is a bit dim, isn’t he? Poor thing. 

Minato's Laundromat Season 2 AKA Minato Shouji Coin Laundry Season 2 (Japan Thu Gaga) 4 of 12 eps - Shin is such a worrywart, over protective, over the top boyfriend. I guess we saw a little bit of give from Minato? More than usual, baby steps. This is Japan after all.

Tokyo in April is... AKA Shigatsu no Tokyo wa (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 7 of 8 - Japan’s favorite trope = the running of the gays. Kazama knows everything now. Ep ends on one of my few triggers. SKIP! Japan you better NOT go there.

Vian the series (Vietnam YouTube ) ep 11-12fin - terrible ending, he turned back into a cat and the whole thing was pointless. I am very annoyed. 4/10 FATALLY FLAWED

Known couples include EarthBank from Destiny Seeker and KaownahTurbo from Love Stage!!!, mostly fresh faces otherwise. Jane to direct several. 

8/22 Kisseki: Dear to Me formerly known as Miracle (Taiwan Tues ????) 13 eps - From screenwriter Lin Pei Yu (We Best Love, H3: Trapped) features a student doctor forced to take care of a gangster. I love the premise and like the writer, I’m thinking Viki or Gaga will get this one.  

8/24 Man Suang (Thailand movie domestic cinemas) - historical drama about Thai burlesque with KP’s MileApo. Tong is in this one too? 

8/? Sing My Crush previously Follow The Wind (Korea ????) 8 eps - supposed to have released in the first half of 2022 this is a adaption of Myung’s webtoon, from the director of My Sweet Dear, and the Love Tractor production house, looks like Korea does About Youth.

8/? Why R U? (Korean remake)  is supposed to be out this month, filming started in sept 22. I find everything about this hilarious. I mean if Korea remakes it, we lose all the sexy and then... would we have a story at all? No we would not. Not even for six short eps. It’d be like one of those mesh shopping bags. 

We can probably expect a new BL from GMMTV too, to slot into BMF’s spot mid month.

There's some great Eugene CassetteBeasts analysis going on lately and I realized that a little detail I noticed might actually be symbolic and omg i love this game I compared Eugene's clothing color palette to Mascotoy but now that I remember that Mammon calls Eugene a hollow shell, this is pretty clear. Mascotoy is an empty costume after all. Meant to represent something, but doesn't actually have anything inside.

I kind of love this because now there are two non-signature beasts I associate with Eugene: Mascotoy and Dandylion. Mascotoy is Eugene in the beginning, a walking cause that shambles like a corpse, not much different than the landkeepers. Dandylion is like Eugene at the end of his arc. It's meh on attack but it comes with stickers that increase its defense and heal itself, turning it into an HP sponge. Something something about how Eugene has realized that he doesn't need to be a badass fighter to do good.

There's also something really neat about Mascotoy being plastic(something that is manufactured and will cease to be once it's destroyed) and Dandylion being plant(something that grows from the earth and is always replenishing itself). Something something about how Eugene's heroic mask is a fragile, easily fractured thing that he cannot hold onto forever, but his true nature is always replenishing itself.

I guess you can also say that Clocksey/Robindam is like a bridge between these two monsters. Even though it's a plastic type, it takes cues from Robin Hood which is a very forest/plant themed figure.

Makes me wonder if any other characters have other tapes that match so well with them. Or am I reading into nothing? Who knows! I really love all the care and attention the devs put into creating Eugene, tho. He's such a neat character.

the production value is solid "can't get you" has an entire band accompaniment (the trumpet >>>>>) he wrote/worked on "flamin hot lemon" with emotional oranges (one of my fave artists actually <3) so that one is Excellent in every regard esp for a song inspired by cheetos lmao I've said numerous times that none of the songs sound like they were created with the intent of 30 secs going viral on tiktok (a very important differentiation for me) and one of my favorites parts about the title track "smoke" is the outro it's soooo good there's an unexpected bit of piano that he adlibs along with >>>> and the ballad "completely" has a Gorgeous piano backing to it (the lyrics on this one are also so beautiful)

my excitement about the release may have overwhelmed me so i might not have broken down each song beat by beat but rest assured i'm not wasting time on music i don't enjoy

in summation the album is good and on a separate unrelated note he just happens to be really hot ❤️

I've always been to see a fuck ton of tribute bands at this supper club, and tbh they were almost all really good. The Pink Floyd one especially. Also lol in middle school once this club I was in had a band come perform and they were like... a hair metal Christian band that took mainstream rock songs like "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi and changed the lyrics to like... "LIVING 'CAUSE I PRAAYYYY" and it was fucking hilarious. It's driving me crazy tho because I know there are more actual real concerts I am forgetting -_-

I did get Taylor tickets last year HOWEVER they were... beyond atrocious, the seats. Like, upper upper deck, BEHIND the stage with like no visibility, not even of the screens, because again: BEHIND. I had like three people trying to get tickets that day and 2/3 of us failed but my friend succeeded and she was like "do you want me to buy these? they're upper deck" and I was like yeah yeah that's okay! We can look at the screens! And then I saw the "OBSTRUCTED VISIBILITY" thing and looked at the layout and I was like...kind of devastated, honestly? It's really hard for me to do an outing like that physically, it was outdoors in April (which translates to HOT in Florida) and I just didn't see myself able to endure 5 or 6 hours at minimum in the heat without like, passing out and dying. Not to mention I'm still really scared of being in a large space with that many people because my disease-modifying drug destroys most of my immune system. I ended up selling them, and... buying my vinyl collection lol. Taylor got a lot of that money again because I bought a lot of her records. I'm kind of bummed that maybe I missed my chance forever, but again, I don't think I could have physically swung it. Plus, of the three nights she did Tampa, the show I was supposed to go to had meh surprise songs while the other 2 nights had AMAZING ones, so I know I would have been salty about that too. ONE DAY THO.

aah man, it’s probably ed & winry from FMA if I’m being honest. now I know why, bc my baby gay younger self saw the potential for ftm!Ed and mtf!Winry since day 1 but I didn’t have the words to understand it as such back then. it’s not that I don’t care anymore but that fandom served its purpose and I am thankful for it. learned about my own stance on gender euphoria thanks to it actually even if the story has nothing to do with it in retrospect.

2. which ship would you consider your first one?

ik that, as a wee child, I was obsessed with Haruka from Sailor Moon flirting with Usagi, but I wouldn’t consider that as a proper “ship”. I learned shipping was a thing at, like, 19. but if I look back at my childhood... probably either Syaoran & Sakura (bi nation where u at??) or Touya/Yukito from Card Captor. I clocked the Tomoyo/Sakura waaaay later tho, which is a pity.

3. your first fanfic belonged to which couple?

first fanfic I read was a D. Gray Man one, so it was probably a Kanda/Allen situation yeah. I think I was 20. oh god.

hard to say. I think I had just discovered tumblr, so it means I was either 22 or 23... so I was either in the Pandora Hearts fandom or in the Tokyo Ghoul fandom. and I only followed people from those two so... I think it was an Arima/Haise one? hard to say fr.

I tend to stay away from that. I just mute or block people and go back to play with my fictional people. me is petty at times, yes.

honestly, ever since kun opened my eyes about soggy older men being bullied by grumpy older men I have changed as a person. I never disliked it per se but now everything has changed. I see the vision now. I see it. thank u kun :)

listen. I ship changgu. it’s Gu Yun’s fault to be such a cougar, what was a growing kid like Changgeng supposed to do? not fantasize about his godfather? who, I might add, is only, like, 8 or 9 years older than him and didn’t even want to take that role to begin with and they got together when both were above their mid-twenties anyway? try again tag game. these new fandom babies are eating my face like smooth lions as we speak. (I am joking...)

before I left the m/dzs fandom... I guess Wen Q/ing & Lan W/angji as a “beard for beard” situation. they are gay and they are not vibing on prom night, having to dance with each other instead of looking for people they actually like. maybe it’s best that I left the fandom ahah

I don’t really... read... fanfics... anymore. usually I’m either in a big ship or a niche show/book with no in between. in the second case... it’s bad bc I feel the urge to WRITE for the fandom and ship in question, which means that I don’t want to read fics about it unless I have finished my own fic for it (bc I don’t want to accidentally steal other people’s ideas. my subconscious is an octopus I swear, it latches onto anything that moves in my brain. I cannot do that to someone else’s creation!); in the first case it works only if I’m not active in the fandom:

take Word of Honor: I write for it and for the main ship too, so I don’t read fics about it

take Evilive or Winter Begonia: we have so few fics in there I MUST WRITE for the main ship, so I don’t read fics about it (sometimes I do cave in tho, yes I am human)

take The Devil Judge or Tomorrow: I’m not active on either of those, so I can enjoy reading fics (only two, one for each fandom)

my life is a struggle ik. the most fics I have read for a ship is probably that sapphic ship I shall not name (evil women come at me!!) and bagginshield from The Hobbit (we are talking 10 years ago tho)

across all genders and all gender combos, I have generally 3 vibes going on:

twice divorced, never married

long suffering banter, but fond

not related, not chosen family, but a secret third thing

(additional flavor: either the younger one is the bossy one or they are the same age and they are making it everyone’s problem at that)

I would say conformity. if I don’t catch any queer vibes from the main source then what’s the point? even in a het ship I must latch onto some gender magic of some kind. some pegging for everyone would be nice too. or no sex at all, for a change, why not?

…so…. Thoughts on the last two season 1 episodes of Hazbin? 💀 I didn’t really like the finale and need someone to talk to about it-

@yumiburrito I got your other ask and don't worry about it. I have no problem talking about Hazbin on this blog too being both shows are sorta connected with each other in some way. Anyways, thoughts under the cut being there will be some spoilers:

My views on the last two episodes, and really the whole season as a whole is meh. I didn't hate it, but I sure didn't love it. It's a show that has it's moments but it's undercut by it's crazy fast pacing plus some of those moments just don't feel earned because there's no build up for a true pay off.

I will say this tho: I'm glad Sir Pent got into Heaven if only because how underwhelming and stupid his death was. It was played as a joke and I'm suppose to...care? Sir Pent deserves the world however and I hope him and Emily become best friends and she tells Charlie about him so Frank (the last of the egg bois) can reunite with his dad. Ilu silly snake man you deserve better by Viv.

Carlima or whatever her name was is cool I guess and she had more chemistry with Vaggie than Charlie does.

And as much as I love watching Vox screaming and being unhinged watching Alastor getting his ass kick as if he was watching The Super Bowl, I felt the moment with Vee's took me out of the seriousness of the fight (or at least how serious you can take it with how much cursing is flying back. I have a sailors mouth and I'm no where this bad). I love Vox, he's a lot of fun and the highlight of the show for me.

If anything, I find Hazbin more frustrating than anything else. There were moments that dare I say I was having fun watching and the music while still a mix bag still had some bangers in there. I think the music was honestly the thing Hazbin has going for it putting aside each song varying in quality.

Will I watch the second season when it airs? Most likely being I'm invested enough regardless if this trainwreck continues to stay on the rails or not. That's more than I can say with Helluva Boss which at this point I'm done with outside of writing my AU and interacting within the RPC because all the show does for me now is piss me off. I may still watch an epsoide or two if Fizzorali and/or Ozzie pop up being their my faves but even then Viv kinda butchered them and took away their bite.

I'm gonna yank them out of her coldhearted hands! They're mine now. So is the rest of the cast minus Stolas. She can keep that sad stack of shit.

Overall, I'll give Hazbin and 4 or 5 out of 10. Maybe it's too generous of a score but I can't make myself hate the show itself. Vivizpop herself on the other hand is a whole other can of worms but I think there are those who do a much better time digging into how much of a horrible person she is than I am. I just want to talk about this silly trashbin of a show(s).

ok so first things first, i loooove gatwa's doctor so much already. if nothing else, i love the masterclass in acting he's putting on, his expressiveness is so impressive. he brings a very fun energy to the role

the church on ruby road has me feeling a bit mixed as well. the plot was kind of meh, and i didn't like how in the alternate universe ruby's mum was just so mean without her. it didn't make sense. like what makes ruby so special, hm 🤨 what's this one white blond baby got that all the other babies in the world don't 🤨 i know the point was to show how much ruby meant to her mum, but like. there are other ways to do it than have a complete 180 in characterization.

i'm honestly not super interested in the mystery of ruby's parentage (which apparently seems like it will be a huge thing unless they're just making stuff up to fake us out, in which case, good on them). but i don't want it to be some big reveal i'm sorry �� especially not because if it is, people will bend over backwards to say how great storytelling it is when they'd never say that if moffat did a plot like this. i hadn't even considered the possibility really, when i'd first watched it, i thought it's just not that deep, but maybe i'm wrong. the people who are theorizing that ruby is rose and tentoo's daughter are sooo funny though like

3. on a scale of 1-10 how much do you enjoy incorporating romance into the average story?

About like, a 7.5 or an 8. Which is funny because I love love. I love reading about love, I love learning about love. I just love love. I think the reason I'm rating it like that is mainly because when I'm writing a story where romance is not the prime focus, I tend to forget about the romance.

For example, I got this question asked to me on one of my current-on-going Hosie fic (You're The One Born To Save series) why one of the main character, Hope, refers to the other main character and partner, Josie, with "my love" or other pet names while Josie doesn't. And honestly? It's cuz I forgot. Weird thing to forget about, yes, but like I said--if romance is not the prime focus of the story, I will forgetti spaghetti until someone reminds me. I have since rectified that oopsies and started having Josie call Hope pet names just sprinkled through here and there ::>_<::

Though... I guess maybe even if romance is the prime focus, I probably would still forget about pet names because I, as a person, am meh/indifferent to pet names in a relationship. I have only ever been called 'babe' once in a prev relationship but other times we just referred to each other by name, so maybe that's why.

My favourite trope to write... Oh man, I don't know cuz I don't think I've written a lot of trope-y stuff?

Upon going through my fics that has a few tropes, I've realized that I really enjoy writing Single Parent tropes haha. But I also do enjoy writing Modern/High School/College AU, Punk/Nerd AU, and Omegaverse (even though I kinda suck at remembering it's Omegaverse).

I have two THREE (I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT ONE) Single Parent AU fics but I guess they're also slotted into Modern AU as well.

A Redhatshipping fic called MYOSOTIS. A Hosie fic called Sad Bedroom Eyes, and a Lightning/Vanille fic called do you think god knows you've been sneaking out of heaven

I just really love reading Single Parent AU fics where one half of the ship is a single parent and the other half is either like the babysitter or neighbour with their own kid or no kid at all. Just something about it tickles my fancy so much. Which is why I wrote three Single Parent AU fics haha. Actually, Sad Bedroom Eyes(I'm a nasty little forgetti spaghetti liar) MYOSOTIS is my first Single Parent fic I've ever written! Sad Bedroom Eyes is my second (and first fic for the Hosie/Legacies fandom). Then Sneaking Out Of Heaven is my third because I was craving for some Lanille fics (alas, the struggle of shipping a rarepair).

I also feel bad that I have not updated MYOSOTIS in like forever and so sorry for those like small number of people who read that fic and was met with nothing I'm so sorry.

For the other tropes tho, I've only written one of each (I think?):

I've written one College AU trope--another Hosie fic called photo gallery meme--which is fun and I would like to go back to writing and finishing that fic sometime in the future.

I have written a Punk/Nerd AU one that I absolutely love with all my heart--an Ikarishipping fic called Hold Me, Hold Me Like A Grudge written for Ikarishipping Day. Mostly because I love the idea of a Punk!Dawn/Hikari and Nerd!Paul/Shinji it's just so cute and I love switching obvious characters for their obvious choice around since it's fun. I think I would like to write another Punk/Nerd AU trope because I had such a fun time writing the PNAU Ikari fic.

And last but not least, I have written only one Omegaverse fic--yet another Hosie fic called Terra: This Is My Always And Forever, which is part of a 3-part series. I haven't really updated this in a while, but I have worked on bits and pieces of it whenever I'm in the mood to do so.

Hi just wanted to say that I really like your cold dracula takes and they made me realize how much of an echo chamber the DD fandom is. Like, I was already aware that there was a predilectoin for a specific set of interpretations of the story and certain headcanons that were trated as seriously as canon, but I always took it as 'lol these people are so funny, tho i'm sure that deep inside they all got a critical opinion of the book and its inherent bigotry that we're knowingly setting aside for internet funsies' but damn your posts have made me reflect on that, maybe not everyone is that critical (and that makes me realize that I myself am not as critical as I thought I was, seeing how easily influenced I can be). And tbf it was a relief to read your opinions because at times I fear I might not be paying close attention to the book because of how insistent some people are on certain readings and it's good to know that I'm not the only one who thinks some fans make a lot of things up.

Like for example helward shippers will talk about how seward and van helsing 'treat each other as equals' but john never calls van helsing his friend, it's always 'professor'. I mean I do love that ship for self indulgent reasons but it's not as canon nor healthy as most people make it out to be, and sometimes I wonder if it's me being bad at finding queer subtext or people being exagerate. And it felt validating to see you speaking against the ship (even if I personally enjoy it while at the same time knowing I'd be creeped out in a situation like that irl).

Also I wasn't aware of how many bad renfield takes people have out there??? Like, everything I see about renfield is about how important it is not to ignore the psichiatric abuse he goes through, I guess I'm lucky to not have found any of the bad takes.

Thank you for the ask! I’m out of the fandom now, partially for echo chamber reasons. Also please take my cold takes with a grain of salt, because I wasn’t In A Good Mental Place TM when I was writing them.

With Helward I always wanted the fanon stuff to be a bit darker because they’re both, you know, them. There was one nice fic where they roleplay an autopsy that was just fucked up enough, but other than that it’s pretty meh. Also I wouldn’t feel too upset about not picking up on the fandom-approved queer subtext. Usually it’s less of a subtext and more of straight up hallucinating the things that aren't in the text. Even then it’s pretty much playing minesweeper because you have to hallucinate things in one specific way.

As for the bad Renfield takes, it used to be way worse in the first year. The consensus was: “Yeah, Renfield’s trauma is Bad, but it’s ignorable, since 97% of us never had the same experience with the psychiatric system. Let’s talk about Jonathan and Mina instead”.
