Which was a *lot* more than one would think.#Covers were analyzed. I did research and took notes. I learned how to download fonts. 4 different programs were used.#This file is also poster sized (A4 dimensions)! I thought It would make the joke funnier for some reason.#Chuck Tingle's style is very iconic and fun to replicate. Despite the time intensive labour - I had a blast making this!#I admit to skimming most of the chapter this is based off of just to fact check a few details but boy did I learn things.#Wei Wuxian canonically has CAKE. Tiny waist and a fat ass.#I took several more notes but I will warn you now that I can't *not* find smut writing to be very funny.#This was pure chaos. Unbridled chaos. #splatoon #pearl houzuki #agent 8 #marina ida #acht mizuta #my stuff #inktober piece 2 :)#shoutout to my brother who reminded me i could replay the credits whenever because i had to get some extra refs for eight's model #and saved me from having to slog up the tower again #now if only splatoon could do that for every cutscene eh. please #i want to relive a lot of cutscenes and youre killing me for it splatoon #anyway did you know splatoon's official art has. well it wildly varies from piece to piece #they all follow like a very loose guidelines but also they all split off into their own things half the time #me with seven tabs of art trying to figure out if i want to do lines to separate pearl's fingers: so this one has lines but this one doesnt #'this one isnt relevant to this issue all fingers are splayed'#so in the end i just did whatever i wanted. i think that's a core tenet of art. do whatever you want. forever #also spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out what was etched into marina's headphones #im 98% sure it is the off the hook logo. but nothing save from booting up splatoon and checking myself would say for sure #and i didnt wanna boot up splatoon cause if i did then id inevitably be down a couple hours because 'oh well im here already. one run maybe'#but regardless!! im proud of how this came out even if i was supposed to have finished two days ago to keep with my schedule #especially the bg :) i think i did really good on that.#and eight's little smile i think thats the charm point of the whole piece and it took me about ten drafts to get it properly #i think i did good on that too.#im so enamored with splatoon rn help

#im not kidding btw this was the moment in the autobiography that completely sold me on casey #my sweet cringefail girl. yes casey that's a great nickname well done #//#heretic tag #brr brr #the more i think about it the more i do have reservations about recommending the book as an intro to casey #like i think you kinda need to... i'm not saying watch ALL the races (maybe) but you need to spend some time in that time period #and THEN you read the autobiography as a bit of a corrective. extra context. but the guy in those pages is a toned down version #you can come away from it thinking he's mostly quite a normal guy which is obviously an incorrect conclusion #you need to do some close reading and go into it with a lot of context and readiness to fact check to really get the most out of the thing #i clocked the luminous yellow thing as kinda funny on the first read through but googled the gp11 on a whim and was like. hold on

#i'm finishing up out of town work and going back home tomorrow #and then saturday we work #and then next week is. whatever.#and the week after we're driving out of town again to our job sunday #and then we're working until friday and then going back home again #and then the week after we're working mon-wed then have thursday off for the 4th of july and then we're working fri-fri #and now my coordinator is like 'good news! i crunched the numbers and you guys don't need more help so i'm pulling ppl from your job'#like okay. i'm glad the math checks out for that. in the real world however where things go wrong this is going to kill us though #in a month where we're already struggling #like. if you have to pull someone you have to pull them. no hard feelings #but don't pretend it's not a bad thing you're doing to us #especially because the job she's pulling from is notoriously difficult and always needs extra time due to problems and filter changes #like. man.

#personal #the engineering chronicles #one of them is sick which is fine obviously but it does suck bc she’s my lab partner in this class and another class so i was up literally #all night yesterday working on the lab due this morning and now im probably abt to pull another all nighter #doing This lab and my other lab partner is trying to argue the two of us should just work from home since one of us isn’t here already but #the last time we decided to work from home it was utterly disastrous and we stayed up all night anyway and only got our demo prepared in #time bc we were one of the last groups my prof checked and even then part of the demo was not Correct. like. ALSO this particular lab is mcu #to mcu communication and technically i Have two mcus bc we bought new kits for this class even tho most of it is the same as a class we took #before but i gave my working extra mcu to my lab partner a few weeks ago bc he blew out some of the pins on his and only had the one mcu on #him so now i just have my usual mcu and his broken mcu that isn’t totally busted but idk How busted it is so i could very well end up #totally wasting my time if i work from #home instead of the two of us meeting and working together with two mcus we know work :/#also he texted earlier today that he could meet after 6 so i was there all day waiting for him like if you’re not coming say that!! why are #you waiting until i text asking where you are to tell me you don’t want to meet up after all

#ok I’m so proud of myself bc this involves finance which is something I avoid at all costs but like I did it!!#my work failed to process my check which I should have received yesterday. I’m now expected to get it next week #and part of growing up poor is like. idk. this learned helplessness or defeatist attitude with money problems #like ohh it’s my bad I should’ve had more savings to cover waiting an extra week or longer for my monthly check #and historically I just shut down and panic while doing nothing bc this is my biggest possible stressor to come across #but!!! being around rich people? I’ve learned they negotiate!! and demand to not be inconvenienced!!#my work was like ehh I’m sorry too bad so sad about your check and I was like actually no #I explained how this impacts my ability to pay rent. my credit score. how they didn’t inform me in time to stop bill autopay #and asked what their detailed plan is to fix this #and within an hour admin was scrambling. four different people emailed me apologizing for the mix up #and they worked it out with finance to get me a $2000 loan to get me by until the check hits #but I was like actually no. I won’t be paying interest on this because I shouldn’t be penalized for your error #and so they GOT RID OF INTEREST #0% interest cash advance essentially that covers all my bills #I picked up the physical check for the 2k today so it’s legit thank god #I thanked everyone involved and remained extremely polite #and they said if there’s any other questions you have please let us know #so I was like actually you know what lmao #I explained that I’ve incurred fees for overdrafts and returned items due to bill autopay that I couldn’t cancel due to them informing me #basically the day of my check being late #and so I specifically said I’ve incurred $270 in fees at this point as a result of your error and I shouldn’t be expected to pay this.#and!! they just said… okay!!! I just got an email that they’ve processed a secondary check for $270!!#so like?!?! what?!?! is this what life is like when you don’t shy away from discussing money?!#im genuinely shocked. this is a life lesson. I never would have imagined this outcome #thank god I decided to not take it lying down

i have all these draft documents of half finished fics full of lines i love but that are so fundamentally flawed i can't figure out how to finish them and can't kill my darlings mercilessly enough to get past the roadblocks so i just reread them over and over and think damn this is kinda fire. wish it was anywhere near shareable.
