saying this as respectfully as possible but. Do not put fandom content creators on a pedestal. We are also just fans contributing to a community just as you are. We have boundary on our own work and that’s it. What I say is not and should not be considered sth the whole fandom should listen to. I’m just a normal ass person ranting about things on my blog. Meanwhile Varian, fandom’s dearest, canonically does not care for the Capital AT ALL, his drive and his focus have always been his father and his village, he does not work for a illusion of a nation but instead for the community he grew up in (people who always had each other’s backs), his Corona started and ended on his village, the capital was nothing more than the path he took to reach the castle or their celebrations — and maybe for that, once the Crown turned its back on him (sorta) he ended up directing his fury to all of the capital, not just the “people above him” —, to make someone like that their royal engineer was truly one heck of a risky gamble for Corona. The genius who lets himself be blinded by rage and the genius who knows exactly where to direct his rage.
