This Meeting Could've Been an E-mail
Sleepy King (Nanenna ver.) Masterpost
---
Diana, along with several other members of the JLD, were sitting in a meeting room. John had stood at the head of the table, having just finished outlining the situation for them, and it was grim. She knew if worse came to worse they may have to sacrifice the boy to keep the Ghost King from emerging into their world and wreaking havoc on a scale only Darkseid had managed before, but she prayed it wouldn’t come to that.
“Would not the boy also smell my father’s blood?” Raven asked.
“Unfortunately. You an’ me are gonna stay back and help plan based on what everyone else reads from the boy.”
Diana nodded along, likely that was also her role.
Bruce, in full Batman gear, came stalking into the room.
“About bloody time,” John said with a huff.
“I would hope you have brought them all up to speed on what you know of Danny while waiting.”
John made an annoyed sound, then moved to sit in a chair near the head of the table. “`Course I did, just waiting on you now.”
Bruce stood in the spot John had just vacated. “Oracle.” The room dimmed and the holo-projector in the table whirred to life. A picture of a small family standing in front of what appeared to be some sort of business run out of what used to be a family home (something fairly common in America, Diana had learned) took center stage. Obviously it was part of a website, Diana could see the web bar with several tabs across the top of the projection, but it was zoomed into the photo.
“This,” Bruce said, pointing to the teenaged boy in the photo from behind, “is Daniel “Danny” Fenton, the boy used in the ritual last night.”
Everyone leaned in closer to look the boy over. There was nothing remarkable about him, a bit thin perhaps but that could be due to the lankiness that comes with growth spurts.
“He’s from Amity Park, Illinois. The town advertises itself as the most haunted city in America, and from what we’ve gathered they earned it. Most pertinent is that last year they were under attack by the Ghost King.”
Oracle must have clicked to the next tab, the family picture was replaced by an online newspaper article titled “Ghost King Thwarted! Is Phantom a Hero?”
“I’m sorry, what happened?” Zatanna asked incredulously.
“There must be some mistake, there’s no way Pariah Dark got free without a single person feeling it,” Dr. Fate insisted.
Oracle scrolled down the page to show several blurry photos taken of a being that looked nothing like what they’d seen last night, alongside a sketch of the being. “Either this was well researched, or somehow this whole event was cloaked,” Bruce said grimly.
“Considering this wasn’t even the most recent attack on the town and a few of them sound like JL level threats,” Oracle’s modulated voice came from the table’s speakers as she quickly tabbed through a few more news articles before coming back to the one on the Ghost King, “I think it’s more likely something is blocking the whole town from us.” She scrolled down more to show several missing or broken photos. “Especially this Phantom person that keeps showing up in every article about ghosts. Even using the way back machine there’s not a single photo of him anywhere on the internet.”
“If the Ghost King has been out,” Captain Marvel asked, “where did he go? I doubt he’s spent the last year just hanging out in a small town in middle America.”
“According to this news article,” Bruce said, “Phantom, along with help from the whole town, managed to get the Ghost King back into the Sarcophagus and sealed him away again.”
John whistled, “That’s quite the feat, even with help.”
“Are you saying Danny was chosen as Pariah’s anchor because he’s from Amity Park?” Raven asked.
“Not just because he’s from Amity Park, his parents are also self proclaimed paranormal scientists and ghost hunters.”
Oracle tabbed to a few different pages, each one with a different picture of one of Danny’s parents proudly holding ominously glowing green weapons or with vials of glowing green goo. Sometimes one in the background of another.
John squinted at the photos, “Is that pure æther?!”
“How?!” Captain Marvel and Zatanna both asked incredulously.
“They call it ectoplasm,” Bruce stated.
John scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Ectoplasm is a word scam artists in the 1800s made up to steal money from grieving widows.”
“Nevertheless that is what they're calling it. Especially of note that the Fentons run their research out of their home.”
“Where their children live?” Diana asked, horrified at the implications.
“How are they still sane?” Captain Marvel asked incredulously.
“We're not sure they are,” Batman said grimly. Oracle tabbed to a street view of the Fenton home, easily identified by the large sign on the side. The strange addition to the home's roof was an… interesting choice.
The other attendees of the meeting were becoming agitated, several of them shifting in place as they got ready to speak.
“Before this goes any further,” Bruce stated firmly, “all this to say the cult that kidnapped Danny Fenton did so with intention. Amity Park certainly needs a full investigation, but it will have to wait until after this crisis with the Ghost King is dealt with.”
“Æther exposure might explain why the kid could handle being Pariah’s anchor.” John sighed then stood up. “Alright, if that’s all the info you got…”
Bruce grunted in acknowledgement.
“The clock’s ticking.” John left the room, the others all following after.
Diana hung back to speak with Bruce. “We’ll find a solution.”
Bruce just hummed to show he heard her. She knew he wasn’t handling the situation well, a child’s life was at stake and he had to hand the situation over to others. There was only so much she could reassure him, so she chose instead to go see the boy for herself.
The JLD members that had attended the meeting were all gathered in a kitchenette discussing logistics. Diana left them to it for the moment and simply went down the hall to the room she knew the boy was sleeping in. The lights in the hallway were already dimmed, thankfully, so she simply quietly opened the door and poked her head inside. Clark was sitting on a chair next to the boy’s bed. His posture was a relaxed sprawl, but his face was furrowed in concentration. He looked up and smiled when he saw Diana.
“How are you?” She asked at barely a whisper, knowing he’d hear her just fine.
“Guilty, now that I know he mistook me for his father.”
“Sadly this is an ask for forgiveness situation.” She gently pat Clark’s arm, trying to console him.
The boy himself looked like any other teenager, dead to the world while tucked safely into bed. She only hoped they would find some solution and tomorrow he would be tucked just as safely into his own bed.

Of Hushed Whispers
The glittering city of Treviso stretched out under the warm Antivan night, its cobblestone streets alive with the sound of music and laughter. The grand ballroom belonging to Dellamorte house was already packed with elegantly dressed figures, their masks gleaming under chandeliers that sparkled like captured starlight.
Rook adjusted her raven-black mask, her sharp eyes scanning the room. A surge of nerves threatened to unsettle her, though she did her best to bury it. Antiva’s crows were not known for their timidity, after all. Tonight, she was dressed in a sleek, dark red gown that clung to her frame, blending elegance with a touch of menace—appropriate for a crow, she thought.
“You clean up nicely, uccellina,” came a low, familiar voice behind her.
Rook turned to see Lucanis Dellamorte, his dark eyes glinting with mischief beneath a gold-lined mask. His midnight-black suit was impeccably tailored, the deep red accents along the lapel complementing the dark locs that framed his face. His gaze was sharp, but his smile was softer—dangerous, yet inviting.
“And you look entirely too comfortable,” Rook quipped, though she couldn’t help the faint smile tugging at her lips.
“Ah, comfort is confidence, no?” Lucanis stepped closer, offering his arm. “Come, dance with me. Let’s show these amateurs how it’s done.”
Rook raised a skeptical brow. “You think you can keep up?”
Lucanis chuckled, his tone dripping with playful arrogance. “Tesoro, I was born to lead.”
Without waiting for an answer, he led her onto the polished marble dance floor. The orchestra swelled, and the other masked dancers parted slightly to make way for the pair. Lucanis’s hand slid to Rook’s waist, guiding her as they began to move.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The music was a lively waltz, and Lucanis’s movements were fluid, confident. Rook found herself following his lead with ease, though she would never admit how much she enjoyed it.
“You’re good,” she said, trying to sound unimpressed, though her heart raced at the closeness between them.
“Good? Amore mio, I am magnifico,” Lucanis teased, leaning closer. His breath ghosted over her ear as he murmured, “And you—well, you’re dazzling tonight. It’s almost unfair to everyone else in this room.”
Rook felt heat rise to her cheeks but managed to roll her eyes. “Sweet talk won’t distract me, Amorino.”
“Distract you?” He smirked, spinning her expertly. “Why would I want to distract you when I can simply enjoy this moment, eh? You, in my arms, under the stars…”
“Under the chandeliers,” Rook corrected dryly, though her smile betrayed her.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Nearby, Teia and Viago observed the pair with mixed reactions. Teia sipped her wine and raised a brow at Viago. “Would you stop glaring holes into Lucanis?” she chided. “It’s unbecoming.”
Viago, whose dark eyes had been fixed on the dancing couple, scowled. His sharp features were framed by his usual untamed hair, and his black attire was as severe as his mood. “I’m not glaring.”
“You’re definitely glaring,” Teia replied. “Rook’s fine. She’s not some fledgling anymore.”
“She’s family,” Viago said curtly. “And Lucanis is—well, Lucanis.”
“Mm, fair point,” Teia said, hiding a smirk behind her glass. “But I think your sister can handle herself. And besides, she looks like she’s enjoying herself.”
Viago’s frown deepened as Lucanis whispered something to Rook, making her laugh softly.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The music slowed, shifting to a more intimate rhythm. Lucanis’s hand tightened slightly on Rook’s waist, pulling her closer. Their movements slowed, matching the sultry melody.
“You’re staring,” Rook said, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Can you blame me?” Lucanis replied, his voice low and velvety. “You are… breathtaking.”
Rook felt her heart skip a beat. “You’re laying it on thick tonight, aren’t you?”
“Only because it’s true, bella mia,” he murmured, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. “And because I can’t stop thinking about how beautiful you look when you smile.”
Before she could reply, the music ended, and the room erupted in applause. Lucanis took a step back and bowed dramatically, earning a soft laugh from Rook. She shook her head, but the warmth in her chest was undeniable.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Later that night, Lucanis led Rook back to his villa on the outskirts of Treviso. The air was cool and fragrant with the scent of blooming jasmine. The rooftop terrace of the Dellamorte villa was a world unto itself, far above the golden lights of the city.
Lucanis led her up to a blanket he had laid out. The view was stunning-stars scattered across the velvety sky, the city lights twinkling below like fireflies.
"Thoughtful," Rook said, sitting down and leaning back on her hands.
Lucanis sat beside her, his shoulder brushing hers. "I have my moments."
They sat in comfortable silence for a while, the quiet punctuated by the distant hum of the city. Eventually, Lucanis turned to her, his expression unusually soft.
"You know, Rook," Lucanis began, his tone softer now, "there's a saying about the stars."
"Oh?" She turned her head to look at him, curious.
He nodded, pointing upward. "They say the brightest ones are the souls of those destined to burn the fiercest in life. Dangerous, fiery, unforgettable."
She smirked. "Are you trying to say l'm a star?"
Lucanis smiled, his gaze shifting to something gentler. "No, uccellina. You're the whole night sky."
Rook stared at him for a moment, unsure whether to tease him or let the warmth of his words settle in her chest. She chose the latter, though she couldn't resist a small grin. “Smooth, Amorino. Very smooth.”
"What can I say? I'm a man of many talents." The playful glint returned to his eyes as he shifted closer, propping himself up on one arm.
Rook shook her head softly, then leaned closer. "You're not so bad yourself," she teased, her voice barely audible.
Lucanis chuckled, leaning in until their lips met in a slow, gentle kiss. His lips were warm and insistent, coaxing her into the moment.
Rook melted into him, her fingers threading into his dark hair as the kiss deepened, their surroundings fading into insignificance. When they finally broke apart, her cheeks were flushed, and she swatted his chest lightly.
"You're insufferable," she muttered, though there was no mistaking the affection in her tone.
"And you love it," he countered, stealing another kiss before she could reply. This one was quicker but just as meaningful, his lips lingering on hers before trailing to the corner of her mouth. "Ammettilo," he murmured against her skin, his voice low and teasing. "You'd be lost without me."
Rook arched an eyebrow, though her fingers stayed tangled in his hair. "Bold of you to assume."
"Not bold… truthful," he corrected, reclining back onto the blanket and tugging her down to rest against his chest. He pressed a kiss to her forehead, his voice turning serious, though there was still a playful edge to it. "I'm the perfect man for you, uccellina mia. Every touch, every kiss— it's all for you."
Rook smiled against his chest, her fingers tracing the outline of his shirt. "Then I suppose I should be grateful you've decided to share yourself with me."
Lucanis chuckled, his fingers gently brushing through her hair. "Cara mia, I'm not sharing— I'm giving my heart to you. And trust me, I'll be making sure you never forget that."
She lifted her head to meet his eyes, her gaze steady. "Oh? Is that a promise, Lucanis?"
He kissed her again, slow and deep, his voice barely a whisper as they broke apart. "Promise, amore. My heart is yours, now and always."
The stars above them seemed to shine a little brighter as they held each other close, the quiet moments between kisses full of promises, laughter, and the kind of love that burned as brightly as the night sky itself.
———————————————————————————
So this actually took me 4hrs. to write because I kept changing the ending 🥲
ANYWAYS, I’m turning crumbs to meals! Eat up!

── .✦ QUIET DEVOTION
⌗ PAIRING : Megumi Fushiguro x Black!femreader
⌗ SYNOPSIS : After a long day, Megumi waits for someone important to return from a mission. As exhaustion meets quiet affection, the night unfolds with unspoken care and fleeting vulnerability.
⌗ CW : fluff!, slight hurt/comfort tones, Mentions of fatigue.
⌗ SIA HERE ! : Was bored so I wrote this Lol, I have nothing else to say 😜
The dorm room was dimly lit, the soft glow of a desk lamp casting long shadows over the walls. Megumi sat at his desk, his eyes skimming over a book, though he wasn’t really reading. His attention kept drifting to his phone, which he’d placed face-up on the table so he wouldn’t miss any notifications.
“I’ll come over after my mission, promise. It shouldn’t be too long.”
He had read that text at least twenty times now.
That was hours ago. He wasn’t worried about your safety—he knew you could handle yourself. It was more that a certain quiet anticipation had been eating at him all day. He’d never admit it outright, but he had wanted to see you the moment the morning started. He even debated texting you to come over earlier, but he settled for waiting. Megumi was used to waiting.
When the soft knock finally came at the door, Megumi was quick to his feet. He opened it to find you standing there, looking utterly exhausted, but still managing to give him a tired smile.
“Hey,” you greeted softly, stepping inside.
“You’re late,” he said bluntly, though his tone lacked any real bite.
“Yeah, well, missions don’t exactly run on a schedule,” you shot back with a yawn, dropping your bag by the door and trudging toward his sofa. “Miss me?”
He rolled his eyes. “You look half-dead.”
“And yet, I’m still here,” you quipped, settling onto the sofa and stretching your legs out. “You’ve been waiting for me all day, haven’t you?”
“I wasn’t waiting.”
“Sure you weren’t,” you teased, smirking as you caught the faintest flicker of annoyance in his expression. “Anyway, I’m here now. So, what’s the plan?”
“The plan,” he said, closing his book and standing, “was for you to get some rest, but clearly, you’re too stubborn for that.”
You shook your head, forcing your heavy eyelids open. “No way. I didn’t come all the way here just to sleep. We’re spending time together.”
“You can barely keep your eyes open.” He shook his head and sat down at his desk again, watching as you tried to sit up straight, clearly fighting your fatigue. “I told you to take it easy if the mission ran late.”
“I’m fine.” You sat up straighter, as if to prove your point, but the movement only made you sway slightly before you caught yourself. “See? Totally fine.”
Megumi sighed, crossing his arms as he leaned against the desk. “You’re going to pass out in the next five minutes.”
“I am not,” you insisted, though your voice wavered with exhaustion.
He arched an eyebrow. “Right. Because falling asleep mid-sentence would really make for quality time.”
“Megumi,” you groaned, rubbing at your face to stay awake. “I’m serious. I really wanted to see you today.”
His gaze softened, but his expression remained impassive. “You’re seeing me now. That doesn’t mean you have to push yourself.”
“I said I’d come over, and I meant it,” you said, your voice quieter now, as if the last of your energy was draining away. “I just… I missed you, okay?”
His arms uncrossed, his fingers twitching slightly as if he wasn’t sure what to do with them. “…I missed you, too.”
You blinked at him, surprised by his honesty, and your lips curved into a sleepy smile. “See? That’s why I’m staying up. Who knows when I’ll get another confession like that out of you?”
He scoffed, walking over to the sofa and crouching down beside it. “If you think this counts as a ‘confession,’ you’re more delirious than I thought.”
“I’m not delirious,” you murmured, though your voice was muffled now as your head lolled to the side. “m’ just… happy to be here.”
“Sure you are.”
“Mhm,” you hummed, your eyes fluttering shut despite your best efforts to keep them open.
It wasn’t long before your head fell to the side, your breathing evening out. A faint snore escaped your lips, accompanied by a small trail of drool, your body finally giving in to exhaustion.
Megumi sighed quietly and stood, walking over to crouch beside the sofa. His dark eyes softened as he studied your face, taking in the way your features relaxed in sleep.
“You’re impossible,” he muttered.
Megumi stayed crouched beside the sofa, his forearms resting on his knees as his eyes roamed over your sleeping face. Your features were soft in the dim light, peaceful in a way he rarely got to see. His gaze lingered on the curve of your cheek, the way your lips parted slightly as you breathed, the faint smudge of drool that had collected at the corner of your mouth. He reached out and carefully wiped the drool from the corner of your mouth, his fingers brushing lightly against your skin.
His eyes followed the strands of hair that had fallen over your forehead, Then, with the same cautious touch, he tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, his hand lingering for a moment. His fingertips brushed against your temple. The movement was slow, almost reverent, as if he feared waking you.
Megumi’s expression softened further as his gaze traced the small details of your face—the faint shadows beneath your eyes from exhaustion, the way your lashes fanned out against your cheeks, the subtle twitch of your lips as you murmured something incoherent in your sleep.
He exhaled quietly, leaning in just enough to notice how your breaths fell in time with his. His dark eyes searched your face as though trying to commit every detail to memory: the slope of your nose, the delicate curve of your jawline, the way your expression remained so utterly serene, even when your day had clearly drained you.
In that moment, Megumi felt something deep and unspoken settle in his chest—a quiet kind of gratitude that you were there, safe and close, even if you had worn yourself out trying to keep your promise to him.
The door suddenly creaked open, and Gojo’s unmistakable voice filled the room. “Hey, Megumi, I saw y/n walk in here. I was just wondering—”
Megumi’s glare was instant and cutting. He raised a finger to his lips in a silent demand for quiet, his expression making it very clear he was not interested in waking you up.
Gojo’s eyes flicked to you on the sofa and back to Megumi, a knowing grin spreading across his face. “Ohhh, I see how it is. I’ll just—”
“Quiet.”
“Got it.” Gojo backed out of the room, shutting the door with exaggerated care.
Once the room was quiet again, Megumi sighed and slipped one arm beneath your knees and the other under your back, lifting you effortlessly. You stirred slightly, your head resting against his chest as he carried you to his bed.
“Megumi…” you mumbled, your voice barely audible.
“Shh,” he said softly, laying you down and pulling the blanket over you.
He slid in beside you, careful not to jostle you too much. For a moment, he simply lay there, watching your face in the dim light. Then, leaning down, he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead.
“I love you,” he whispered, so quietly he wasn’t even sure if he’d said it aloud.
You stirred again, a soft laugh escaping your lips. “I heard that.”
Megumi stiffened. “Go to sleep.”
“You said it first,” you teased, turning to face him with a sleepy smile.
“Fine,” he muttered, his voice laced with exasperation but not a hint of regret. “I said it first. I love you. Now go back to sleep.”
“I love you, too,” you murmured, closing your eyes and nestling closer to him.
Megumi sighed, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he closed his eyes. “Good. Now shut up and go back to sleep.”
The irony wasn’t lost on him. For someone who carried himself with such practiced indifference, who rarely expressed his feelings in words, he had just uttered the most vulnerable confession without hesitation. He huffed quietly, half-annoyed at himself and half-amused by how natural it felt with you. Maybe that’s what frustrated him most—you had a way of undoing all the walls he worked so hard to keep up.

Fourth time’s the charm
Summary: In which Lando tries to confess to you but gets interrupted every single time.
Genre: Fluff
TW: None!
A/N: English is not my first language. I hope you enjoy it though! Requests are open and welcome!
Masterlist
Lando Norris had always been confident in most areas of his life. When it came to racing, he was a force to be reckoned with.
But when it came to matters of the heart, especially when it involved you, his confidence wavered like a leaf in the wind.
You had this way of making him feel as if he had never once had a solid thought in his head.
Everything about you was magnetic. The way you laughed at his jokes, even when they were terrible, the way you listened so intently when he rambled about his day.
You’d spent weeks teasing him gently, making him feel like you could read his mind—and it only made him fall harder.
It was impossible not to notice how effortlessly beautiful you were.
You were self-assured, sharp, and witty—traits that made him admire you from the sidelines. Every time you caught his eye, a fluttering sensation took over his chest.
He had to make a move.
It was just... well, asking you out seemed like such a monumental step.
The problem was that Lando had been trying to ask you out for weeks. And for some bizarre cosmic reason, every time he gathered the courage, something always seemed to interrupt him.
Today, he was determined.
Today would be different.
He would ask you out, and he wouldn’t let anyone get in his way.
Attempt One: The McLaren Hospitality Suite
It was early in the day.
Lando was sitting in the McLaren hospitality suite, sipping on a cup of coffee while trying to distract himself from the million thoughts racing through his mind.
He’d seen you earlier, sitting at a table, engrossed in your laptop. Your usual relaxed air and the way you made everything look so effortless only made him admire you more.
He watched you for a few moments, silently working up the nerve. He’d spent the last hour trying to figure out how to phrase it perfectly, but nothing sounded right. It didn’t matter how much time he spent perfecting the words; all that mattered was asking you.
“Hey, Y/N,” he said, making his move, trying to keep his voice casual.
You looked up from your screen, eyebrows lifting. “Oh, hey! What’s up?”
He cleared his throat, doing his best to sound confident. “I was wondering if—”
“Lando, mate!”
A loud voice cut through the moment like a knife. It was Carlos Sainz, entering the room with his usual jovial energy.
He clapped a hand on Lando’s shoulder, his enthusiasm evident.
“Have you seen the new lap data? It’s insane.”
Lando’s mouth snapped shut as Carlos carried on, excitedly talking about telemetry and tire wear.
He shot you an apologetic glance, but the moment was gone.
Carlos continued on, oblivious to the tension he’d just interrupted, leaving Lando feeling helpless.
As the conversation continued, Lando’s thoughts drifted back to you, only to be pulled away again and again by the sound of Carlos babbling.
The universe, it seemed, was against him.
Attempt Two: The Paddock
Later that afternoon, Lando found himself in the paddock area, looking for an opportunity to talk to you.
You were standing near the barriers, deep in conversation with a reporter.
Lando’s gaze immediately fixed on you.
The way you smiled and laughed, and the ease with which you made even the most mundane conversation feel important, was irresistible.
Now was his chance.
He walked over, trying to calm the nervous flutter in his chest. As he reached you, his heart pounded in his ears. “Y/N,” he called, smiling slightly.
”Can I steal you for a second?”
You looked up from your conversation, your expression turning curious.
“Of course,” you said, politely excusing yourself from the reporter.
But as he opened his mouth to speak, a firm hand landed on his shoulder.
“Lando, media’s waiting. We need you now.” It was his PR manager, pointing at him with a sense of urgency.
Lando exhaled sharply, frustrated. He shot you an apologetic look.
“I’ll catch you later,” he said quickly, before being whisked away.
You gave him a soft, understanding smile.
”No worries, Lando. Go on.”
And just like that, another chance slipped through his fingers.
Attempt Three: The Team Dinner
By evening, Lando had almost resigned himself to the idea that today was just not going to be the day.
The entire McLaren crew had gathered at a restaurant to celebrate the end of a successful race weekend.
Lando had been looking forward to the dinner all day, but now all he could think about was how he’d barely spoken to you.
As dessert was being served, Lando noticed you leaning in, chatting with a couple of teammates. His heart skipped as he found the courage to finally act.
“Y/N,” he said, voice a little quieter than usual as he leaned forward to catch your attention.
You looked up, that familiar warm smile spreading across your face as your eyes met his. “Hmm?”
Lando swallowed hard. This was it. “I’ve been meaning to ask you something.”
But before he could continue, the entire restaurant seemed to erupt into chaos.
“Toast time!” someone shouted from across the table, causing everyone to rise and cheer. Glasses clinked, laughter filled the air, and suddenly all eyes were on the celebration, drowning out Lando’s attempt.
He groaned inwardly, sinking back into his seat, helpless as the conversation moved on.
He was starting to feel like the universe was intentionally torturing him.
Final Attempt: Under the Stars
It was well past dinner, and the team was slowly filtering out of the restaurant. Lando, however, found himself lingering outside, hoping for one last chance to speak with you.
The night air was cool, and the city lights cast a soft glow over everything.
You were standing near the curb, talking to a few friends, laughing in that carefree way of yours.
Lando watched you for a few moments, once again finding himself paralyzed by your presence.
He took a deep breath and walked over.
“Y/N,” he said softly, cutting through the noise of the city.
You turned to face him, your smile instantly appearing, a sense of calm washing over him as he looked into your eyes.
“What’s up?” you asked.
Lando opened his mouth, finally prepared to say the words he’d been rehearsing all day.
“I... I’ve been trying to talk to you all day,” he admitted, laughing nervously. “But every time I’ve tried, something’s happened. Carlos, the media, the team, even toast time—”
You laughed, the sound sweet and genuine, like music to his ears. “I noticed,” you teased, raising an eyebrow. “You’ve been acting a little off.”
He chuckled nervously, his heart beating wildly. “I guess I’m just... I’m just nervous,” he admitted.
“About what?”
“About asking you out,” he said in a rush, finally pushing past the nerves.
“I like you. A lot. And I’ve been trying to ask you for weeks, but I didn’t know how.”
You stared at him, the soft night breeze swirling around the both of you. For a moment, everything felt still.
“I... I don’t know why I’m so nervous,” he continued, his voice barely above a whisper. “It’s just that every time I’m around you, I feel... I feel like I don’t know how to act.”
You took a step forward, closing the distance between you.
“Lando,” you said softly, “you could’ve just asked.”
And just like that, the floodgates opened. The tension, the hesitation—it all melted away in the warmth of your gaze.
Lando could only smile, feeling the weight of his fears lift as he finally said the words that had been bottled up inside him.
“Will you go out with me?” he asked, his voice genuine.
You smiled, your eyes sparkling under the soft glow of the streetlights. “Yes, Lando. I will.”
And for the first time that day, there were no interruptions.
Thank you for reading!

Part 1 Part 2
MAMA 2024 happened, the girls on stage, the bright lights, the well-executed choreography, the excitement, it all happened very fast. One moment the girls were on stage and the next Sophia was in your arms. The Filipino girl seemed happy and relieved that it was over, the comfort of your arms helped Sophia's breathing to calm down and everything seemed perfect.
Until you hear unregulated breathing. But not like that one when you're just tired, no, that one looked different. Moving away from Sophia slightly, you can see a Yoonchae seemingly hyperventilating. And then it was like everything got a little murky.
"Yoonchae, are you okay?" You said, your hand linked to Sophia's as you dragged the black-haired girl closer to the youngest.
Panic set in when the younger girl didn't respond verbally, just looking at you with tears in her eyes. It seemed that Yoonchae's legs would give way at any moment, and that's exactly what happened. Your sixth sense helped hold the girl before her knees hit the ground.
"CAN SOMEONE BRING A CHAIR, PLEASE!" You screamed.
"There's a sofa in the dressing room, can you take it?" A staff member says as he points the way.
You gently took Yoonchae in your arms, carrying it in bridal style. As you followed the staff, you could hear Sophia trying to calm the girls, who were coming quickly after you.
"Yoonchae, dear, keep your eyes open, breathe with me, I'm here, okay. It's going to be okay." You repeated it like a mantra.
"It's going to be okay," was what you kept repeating in your head, knowing that staying calm was best in this situation, because that way you had a better chance of calming Yoonchae down faster, and wouldn't leave the Kats in total panic.
Laying Yoonchae on the couch, you asked someone to get some water, Megan quickly stepping up. Daniela tried to stay calm along with Lara, the two wondering if they could do something to calm the situation.
"Yoonchae, here, I'm here. Breathe along with me, okay?" The younger girl shaking her head.
Yoonchae tried to imitate the speed of your breathing, holding your hand, the younger girl looked into your eyes. Megan had handed the bottle of water to Sophia, who was now looking at the scene with a heavy heart.
As Yoonchae's breathing calmed, everyone's nerves were lowered. Still holding your hand, Yoonchae drank water, receiving scratches on her head, from Sophia. Your girlfriend now looking at you, when your eyes met, you felt relieved, the comfort of knowing that you managed to handle the situation.
As the leader of Katseye, sometimes Sophia was called to meetings and things like that, you didn't know much, but you knew that whenever Sophia came home, all she wanted was to sleep clinging to you.
So today, you decided to go to the Kats' house to wait for your girlfriend to arrive, greeting the girls when you arrived and going to the room that Sophia shared with Yoonchae. You knocked before entering, even though Yoonchae was probably asleep. But the biggest surprise was when the younger girl opened the door.
"Hey Yoonchae, I thought you were sleeping. I brought you some things." You said lifting the bag so the girl could see.
"What did you bring?" She asked, dragging you inside.
"Nothing much, just a few snacks." you said.
Minutes later you and Yoonchae were lying in the younger one's bed, a movie Yoonchae chose playing on TV while you and the younger one devoured the snacks you had bought.
When the door to the room was opened, none of you noticed. Sophia, who had finally arrived from a meeting, quickly got a warm heart watching the scene. The movie was still playing on television, but you and Yoonchae had been asleep for a long time. The younger girl's head resting on your shoulder, by this time Yoonchae had a blanket wrapped around herself, while you froze to death. The bag of snacks was almost empty, only one package of candy was closed, Sophia recognized that, they were her favorites.
The Filipino girl wasted no time, taking a picture of you and Yoonchae and making a mental note to post later on her Instagram. Lightly kissing your cheek, Sophia went straight to the shower, she couldn't wait to join you two.
Olivia Rodrigo's concert seemed like a dream for Sophia and Yoonchae. They were both extremely excited and even if you couldn't keep up with their excitement, it was great to see your favorite girls so happy.
Now, you've always been a calm person, few people had really seen a more aggressive side of you. Today, you didn't expect to be stressed, despite the huge queues and the large concentration of people in the same place, you were happy because Sophia and Yoonchae were happy. But now, you were no longer sure about it.
Forgetting your wallet in the car seemed like a normal thing, at least boring, I mean, people forget things all the time. Leaving Sophia and Yoonchae in line, you quickly went to your car and grabbed your wallet, oh, how you wished you hadn't done that.
As you walked closer to the girls, you can clearly see a guy hitting on Sophia. Normally this wouldn't make you so angry, but the fact that the guy was trying to hold Sophia against the wall made his blood boil. Getting closer you can hear Yoonchae say something, but all your decency was thrown into the air when you heard him reply "Shut up brat," while still holding Sophia to the wall with his arms.
Coming up behind the guy, you can see the look of relief on your girlfriend's face, which soon turned to concern when you grabbed the guy by the back of the sweatshirt he was wearing.
"Stay away from her, you fucking idiot." You said, holding on tight as the guy struggled.
Looking at the boy's face for the first time, you can see how pathetic he looked. He was a little shorter than you and slightly taller than Sophia, he looked like he was about nineteen and had horrible bangs.
"Sorry, please, I thought she was single." The boy said, it felt like he was about to start crying.
"I said she had her girlfriend you idiot." Yoonchae said glancing at the boy.
"And I told you to shut up!" The boy answered without thinking.
"HEY!" By shifting the grip from the back to the front of the boy's sweatshirt, you pulled him up to your eye level. "You'll never talk to her like that again, do you understand?"
The boy quickly shook his head.
"Sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't know she was with you, please let me go."
Not wanting to get in trouble with the security guards and also not wanting to ruin the girls' night even more, you let go of the boy with brutality, which made him trip and fall on his butt on the floor.
"Get the hell out of here before I change my mind, you asshole."
The boy ran away making you snort with such mediocrity.
"Wow, I had never seen that Yn side of you, it was always the calm Yn." Yoonchae said, while laughing.
Sophia just looked at you with a smile.
"Sometimes idiots make me mad."
Finally you could enter the stadium to find your seats. With Yoonchae a little in front, without leaving your view, you felt Sophia grab your bicep as she leaned close to your ear.
"That guy was an idiot, but I kind of enjoyed seeing you all mad..." The Filipino girl said as she bit her lower lip.
"You liked it, did you?" you asked, seeing Sophia shake her head positively, knowing exactly where this was going.
"I'll show you how much I enjoyed it when we get home."

Hiiii! May I request some platonic headcanons for MTMTE? I was thinking about a g/n human reader pulling some pranks on some bots on the LL (Ratchet, Rodimus, Rewind) and what their reactions would be.
Ratchet | Rewind | Rodimus [MTMTE]
In which you try pulling a prank on some of your friends aboard the Lost Light.
Reader is: Gender Neutral | Human | Autobot. Platonic.
Ratchet
Your friendship started with you making teasing comments, which eventually led to jokes and seemed to be verging towards pranks
Ratchet was a grumpy one, so while your jokes are welcome, there is a time and place for them
One of those times is not the first thing in the morning, especially when he's preparing to get into a surgery
And yet, as he went to enter his office, he was surprised to run into some kind of thin, transparent film that forced him back onto his aft
You'd spent the whole night lining the door of the medbay with several rolls of plastic wrap, knowing his optics would still be woken up
It came to bite you in the ass; he wakes you up from your sleep after the all-nighter by yelling your name and banging at your door
He's pissy, and now he's making you sit on his desk all day, watching the surgery, and banging his fist on the table every time you start to doze off
You can sleep when he's done and when he feels you've learned your lesson for startling him so early
Rewind
You were the life of the party, in many ways
A lot of Rewind's best recordings come from you
Were all humans this fun? Or were you some rarity?
Either way, he's a big fan, and he's always got his camera rolling if you're there
You also make him feel special because none of your jokes or pranks are aimed at him
In fact, you usually request his help with pranks, be it as small as catching it on tape or something like replaying someone's voice to lure another of the crew
That's what made your plan against him so effective; he never expected himself to be a target of your genius
Until one late evening, he enters the habsuite to get some rest and-
Wait
Why is everything on the wrong side?
Chromedome is there resting, and Rewind wakes him up to ask what's going on
"What are you talking about? Are you feeling okay?"
Chromedome fully convinces Rewind he may have something wrong until he pulls up a clip of the room
"Fuck." He hears your small voice come from somewhere behind Chromedome, and he's running at you
"Both of you! Traitors!"
Rodimus
Rodimus knew you better than most others, and while he pretended to scold you in front of Ultra Magnus all the time, he liked the energy you brought
Besides, he was always pulling small pranks of his own, usually on Ultra Magnus, which was cheap and easy, but pranks nonetheless
That meant he presented a challenge, though
Rodimus was very good at telling you were up to something and had caught many of your pranks before
Unfortunately for him, most is not all, and he'd once again been fooled by your trickery
You'd mixed powdered sugar into his paint polish, which made it look shiny at first, but once dried, it left him very sticky and matte and made his paint look uneven
Oh, he knew who'd done it the moment someone pointed it out, and he wasn't going to let you get away with it so easily
Next thing you know, Siren is over the ship's comms claiming there's an emergency and that Rodimus is severely injured in the med bay
Of course you go racing to see him, unaware the announcement was only to your hab suite
He sat there, Rewind by his side, recording as you burst in with emotions evident on your face, only to realize what he'd done
Asshole

hello! can i request seungkwan with fluff prompt #27?? thank youuu 🫶🏼
hello, my dear! you can :) thank you for requesting! 💜 hopefully you will like it!
fluff prompt: 'is that my shirt?'
'boo seungkwan!' you roar the second door opens.
'i know, i'm sorry!' seungkwan shouts back, quickly taking off his shoes and running to your room. 'i'm sorry, my dear, so sorry!'
you already packed most of the stuff for this three days away trip, so when seungkwan enters, you greet him with a stern glare and arms crossed over your chest pose. he knows you hate being late. he knows it's the only thing that you absolutely cannot stand and because seungkwan is late, now you two are late for the meet up time with friends, who are also going to that away trip.
'everyone is waiting for us!' you huff, annoyed. 'thank god tour bus is late or we'd be in trouble!'
seungkwan has bunch of excuses on the tip of his tongue. the truth is he simply forgot at which time he's supposed to get off work, but on his way home he came up with many different reasons that can, hopefully, lessen your wrath. and he's about to let out at least one of them, but then he notices what you're wearing and his brain promptly shuts down. you're narrating what's in the bags, pointing at each one, when he interrupts you with: 'is that my shirt?'
you pause, blinking back at him. you look down at what you're wearing and nod, trying to hide your blush. 'yeah, why?'
seungkwan is not sure how to answer that question. is it too early in relationship to let you know that he goes a bit mental at seeing you in his clothes? that some possesive side of him, which apparently existed and just chose to not to show itself, is over the moon at this view? that he wants you to wear his shirts all the time starting from now? 'nothing-nothing,' seungkwan mumbles, standing up when you motion hm to go. 'uh- looks good on you. very pretty.'
'oh.' you pause again, watching as he takes all the bags, meaning to carry them. 'thank you. wait, i'll take one of the bags!'
'not happening,' seungkwan says strictly and quickly goes to the door, not wanting to bicker with you about this as well. you two already lost enough time as it is. 'hurry up, slow pants! we're late!'
'yeah and i wonder because of who!' you shout back, making him laugh. 'wait, let me quickly grab one more thing!'
that one more thing ends up being seungkwan's old warm coat and before he can say that he actually doesn't need one, you put it on yourself. oh. seungkwan swallows.
'good to go?' you ask, opening the door, having no idea how his brain is barely working because of you.
seungkwan nods and tries not to let out all of his thoughts show on his face: 'yeah, let's go.'
a/n: request your own here! <3 - nini

Chapter 3
Madeline gave three solid knocks on the door of the third floor dorm room. She had taken Melody out shopping a couple of hours ago, and both of them got new outfits for their girls night out. But it wouldn’t do to have Mel fall asleep on the dance floor, so she let her best friend spend a few hours at her dorm room to get some shut eye in her room.
Maddie knocked a couple more times on the door, and afterwards, heard Luz’s voice come through. “Yeah! Just a sec!”
When the door finally opened, Luz was standing on the other side of it. “Hey, I-” Madeline began, but once Luz was in full view, she stopped. All the toned woman had on was a white tank top and a pair of women’s boxers. Maddie’s eyes wandered to Luz’s arm that was propped up against the wall, then back to her face, which she had just slicked her hair back from since it was soaked.
“Sorry about the wait.” Luz said, “You caught me just as I was getting out of the shower.” She looked behind her, pointing her thumb over her shoulder, then looked back towards Madeline. “Mel isn’t here.”
Maddie took a second to come back to earth, then nodded, “Yeah, I know. I came here to talk to you.”
Luz broke eye contact, releasing a large breath and stepping to the side while motioning with her arm for Madeline to come inside. “I’m assuming this is about last night?”
Madeline soon accepted the invitation, stepping in. “Yeah- Well, kinda.”
Luz furrowed her brow, confused, and let the door shut behind her friend. “Kinda?” Then leaned back against the wall.
“Yeah, I wanted to talk to you about your guys’ living arrangements.” She crossed her arms and hardened her expression. Distracted only a bit by the steam just off in the far end of the hallway. She wasn’t kidding; she did just get out of the shower. “You guys can’t live together anymore.”
Upon hearing what this was really about, Luz bowed her head and put her hands behind her back. “It’s eating her up inside.” Maddie continued, “and even if you wait until she’s out to invite your hookups over, it doesn’t stop it from keeping some wounds open.”
“I know.” Luz replied with an even tone.
Madeline looked genuinely surprised at first, uncrossing her arms. “You-” She waited for a beat, the small sense of shock making her interrupt herself. “You know?” Then, that surprise turned into irritation. “Then why haven’t you done anything about it?”
“I have.”
Maddie stared perturbedly, waiting for the taller woman to clarify her statement. Luz looked back up at her and shrugged in preparation of saying something extremely difficult. Something she didn’t really want to happen, but was going to anyway. “I’m gonna be crashing with Darrel for a couple months, or until Mel is,” She pondered how to put it, “better, I guess? I dunno.”
Luz brought her hand up, rubbing the top of her head.
Maddie’s eyes, for a split second, blinked towards the Hispanic woman’s adonis muscles that were partially revealed in the process, then refocused to her face again. “I wouldn’t know how to explain it. But I guess it’s just until she can get over me. She smiled sheepishly and let out a single, guilty chuckle. “I know I don’t exactly make that easy.”
Madeline could tell, as well. She could tell that Luz was genuinely trying to do the right thing, and that maybe she was usually trying to do the right thing and it just fell flat sometimes. Maybe Melody was right. Perhaps she didn’t always give the woman a fair shake.
“Oh, well,” Maddie began, not really knowing how to completely clear the air through the pent up awkwardness that had built over the last year from her and her best friend’s breakup. “Thanks, Luz. Really.” Maddie said, not really knowing how to completely clear the air through the pent up awkwardness that had built over the last year from her and her best friend’s breakup.
Luz nodded subtly. “Yeah, no problem.” Then she looked down again. Silent. As if waiting for Madeline to begin making her exit already.
Which the animal science major did. She began heading for the door, but in the process, had to actually walk past the half-naked woman to do so. When she did, she stopped and faced her. “Hey Luz.” She paused for a second, “You’re, um,” It felt strange being so real with the flirtatious woman. “You’re a good person.”
Luz lifted her head, her lips barely parted and her eyes looking as if they were searching for meaning, focusing on Madeline’s lips as Maddie continued to speak. “And I know I haven’t been as good of a friend as I could’ve been through yours and Mel’s breakup.” Luz’s eyes moved up to Maddie’s. “And I’m sorry about that.”
There was a beat that went by, and then a genuine, appreciative smile appeared on Luz’s lips. “I get it.” She sighed, stood up straight, then shrugged again. “You went up to bat for your best friend. I respect that, Mads.” Her eyes darted down, then up again. “It’s one of the things I like about you. But I, uh, appreciate it.” She spoke softly, “I do.”
For a moment, Luz had to look away. She wasn’t all too good with showing real, honest emotions. Not with Madeline, at least. And so, because of that, a more flirtatious demeanor took hold. As a sort of wall she could put up to hide herself. “But y’know, I’m no saint in all this either. So if you ever need me to say sorry, I’ve heard I’m very good with my mouth.”
Madeline scoffed and rolled her eyes. “Yeah, thanks, but no thanks.” She thought for a moment, then leaned in a bit. “But if you really wanna say sorry, you can slip me Darrel’s number. Mel and I are going out tonight and he seems like he’d be more my speed, if you know what I mean.”
Luz’s eyes faltered, for only a split second. For a single moment while she huffed out a breath. But it was just not-so-subtle enough to be noticeable. “Yeah, not gonna happen.”
Maddie smiled, leaning forward a little more to look up at Luz. “What was that?”
Luz released a tense snicker, “What was what?”
“That.” Madeline said again, leaning in a bit closer. “Oh my god. Luz Marcellus, are you-” she let out an amused exhale, “Are you jealous?” Her poking and prodding was, of course, meant in a playful manner.
The toned woman raised her eyebrows. “Me? Jealous?” She scoffed. “No.”
“I think you are.”
“Mads, watch yourself.” Luz playfully warned, taking a step closer.
“Luz, I’ve never seen that look on you before.” Maddie took a single step back, still smirking. “Oh, don’t worry though, I won’t be part of whatever body count contest you guys are having. I’ll make it abundantly clear to him going into it that things are to stay between the-”
Before Madeline knew what was happening, she was between Luz and the wall, with the butch woman’s forearm placed above her head. The wet strands of hair hung down in front of her face, barely letting her brown eyes show through and burrow their way into Maddie’s own. The shorter woman’s gaze went wide and she tried to look anywhere that wasn’t up or forward.
But that wasn’t exactly working.
Was that Luz she was smelling? What kind of cologne was that? She wore cologne? It was nice. That, mixed with the smell of the shampoo, was almost intoxicating in a way.
Luz flipped her hair to the side, giving that trademark charming smile with that stupid way she dragged her teeth along her bottom lip for half a second. It all made Madeline’s heart speed up a beat or two. But why? She didn’t like women like that. Maybe she didn’t view Luz as a woman?
Gee, that’s a shitty rationalization to jump to. Madeline thought the words, keeping them locked in her head.
“There’s a lot of sides of me you haven’t seen yet, Mads. But we can change that.” Her voice was deeper than usual, Maddie could swear to it. “Y’know, if you ever become interested.” Madeline felt humiliated that this was actually getting to her. She knew logically that this was all just to get back at her for poking fun at Luz in the first place. So, yeah, kinda should’ve seen something like this coming.
But Madeline thought it was like how Luz and Darrel joke with each other. How Darrel will say something to her that’s provocative, and she’ll tell him to eat a dick, but in a ‘bros being bros’ kinda way.
She put a hand on the top of Luz’s chest to gently push against her, adding a trilled laugh to her first word. “Yeah, okay. That would require me to find you attractive, cowgirl.”
But then, Luz’s expression just dropped. Like it would
In immediate response, so did Maddie’s.
“Wow, um,” Luz backed away to put space between them, releasing a single, hurt breath. “Okay…”
Madeline just froze for a good couple of seconds.
What did she say? It was the truth. She wasn’t attracted to Luz, because she wasn’t attracted to women, and Luz knew that. Those two things were obviously going to line up. Maybe she thought Maddie was calling her unattractive, in a general sense? Anyone with eyes could see that wasn’t true, though. Not only that, Luz has always been super proud of her body. So why was right now such a blow for her and not something she could just laugh off?
Maddie reached her hand out. “Luz, I didn’t-”
“No it’s- it’s cool.” Luz took another step back and kept looking to the side, clearing her throat and pulling her shirt down to cover her torso just a bit better. “I get it.” She nodded once, “I do.”
“Okay…” Madeline said, just kind of leaving it at that. She didn’t know what else to say. She didn’t know what was going on. “Did you, um,” She narrowed her gaze a bit, “ Did you wanna-” Then, she pointed her thumb towards the door, “I mean, tonight, with-”
“No, I can’t.” Luz cut her off. “I have work. Patrolling.”
“Right…”
Another awkward pause.
Maddie took a couple steps back towards the door, the apologetic sensation never leaving her expression. “Well, I’m gonna head out. Gotta make sure Mel wakes up in time for our girls' night.”
Luckily, it seemed like Luz had started to compose herself. She took a deep breath and returned to more of a neutral demeanor. “Yeah, well, you guys have fun. Take a shot or two for me.”
Madeline seemed relieved when her friend at least started acting normal again. She giggled, “Luz, we always take shots for you. You don’t drink.”
Luz shot her a friendly wink, “I know. Have fun tonight.”
“Thanks, we will!” With those final words, Madeline opened the door behind her and left the dorm room. All the way to the elevator, she couldn’t help but think about how weird that entire interaction ended up being. Had things changed that much with Luz in the past year? What hell even happened back there?
Maddie tried shaking it off as she got onto the elevator.
One thing was for sure; she would certainly be drinking enough to try and forget whatever the fuck that was.
10pm - Shivers Bar & Club Singles Night
A glass hit the bar underneath, and Madeline let out a high pitched, ‘Woooo!’ as the first shot of alcohol cleared her esophagus. She was wearing a red silken dress with an open back that had strings that tie around the back of her neck. It flowed down to just above her knees.
Melody laughed and put a hand on her shoulder. “Maddie! Easy, we just got here!”
She turned to Melody and put an arm around her shoulder. “Hey! ‘Easy’ is for people who get to do this more than once every couple of months!” She took the second shot from the bar and held it out to the crowd as she turned both of them to face it. “We came out here to have a good time, and dammit, that’s exactly what we’re gonna do. So do me a favor and down this shit!”
Madeline held the shot to Melody’s lips and tilted it back, to which Melody took the hint and opened her mouth, tilting her head back to let the drink flow down her throat. Maddie let out yet another cheer and put the now empty shot glass on the bar next to the other one.
Mel put the back of her wrist up to her lips, holding in a laugh at her over-ecstatic best friend. “Now, let’s get you and the sweet, sweet ass out on the dance floor, girl!” They both laughed and Maddie grabbed Melody’s wrist, holding it in the air and swaying her hips while she danced out onto the floor to begin their night.
11:30pm - Shivers Bar & Club Singles Night…
Madeline leaned on the bar, downing her third shot of the night, and she was starting to feel it coming on. She let out a breath, and a laugh afterwards, exhausted but having the time of her life.
“Hey, you here alone?!”
She heard a deep voice yell out over the music, and before even looking at the guy, smiled and retorted. “It’s singles night! What do you think?!” It was more of a playful tone than a snarky one. As she saw the guy for the first time, he looked pretty damn cute. Not the most built, but certainly not scrawny.
“To actually answer your question,” she continued, “I came here with my friend. She’s, um,” Madeline looked around. Where was Mel? It was difficult to see over and past the crowd, but as a few more people cleared the way at the end of the song, she saw her. And a huge grin came across her face.
Melody was on the other end of the bar, pressed against it, making out with a woman a few inches taller than her with raven black, shoulder length hair. “She’s busy.” Maddie said, turning back to the guy.
He looked down at her and smiled, leaning on the bar. “You and your friend come to singles nights together often?”
“Oh, it’s not what you think.” The music began to blare again as the next song started. It was difficult to convey the joking tone she wanted while talking over it, but she did her best. “She’s my manager!”
“Oh yeah?!” The guy played along.
Madeline nodded, “For sure! There’s some really raunchy stuff of me online! Girl’s gotta make a living, right?!”
The guys face formed an over exaggerated expression of understanding. “Oh yeah, for sure, for sure!” Then broke out into a grin again.
Maddie looked him up and down. Yeah, he passed the vibe check.
But before it could continue, she heard a familiar voice next to her. “Hey, Maddie!”
She looked over to see Melody standing there, holding hands with the woman she was just making out with. “Hey, Mel!” There was most certainly a teasing lilt to the word that made her best friend roll her eyes and blush, smiling like she was caught with her hand caught where it wasn’t supposed to be, and where it most likely was just a couple minutes ago.
“I’m gonna head back! I’ll call you tomorrow, okay?!”
“Yeah, yeah, sure! Go on girl! Have fun!” Once again, a lilting, teasing cadance took over the last word, and Madeline watched as her friend walked out with her new date.
She looked back to the guy she was talking with, “So, where were we?”
12:30am - Shivers Bar & Club Singles Night…
Body’s were rubbing against each other. The music was pounding. More drinks were being ordered. More drinks were being consumed. At this point, it was safe to say that Madeline was drunk. Five shots in for a person that doesn’t regularly go out drinking was more than enough.
She leaned back against the bar, making out with the guy she was dancing with. Turns out his name was Garrett, which she classily found out a few seconds before she started kissing him. They smiled into the kiss and he reached down, putting his hands on her waist and pulling her closer to him. “You feel fucking amazing, Maddie.”
“Mmm… Same do… you…” Well, it seemed like she was more drunk than she thought. But she’s been drunk before and that felt different than this.
Her hand reached up to hold her forehead, “Woah-” And when she looked back at Garrett, everything seemed like it was spinning. His head wouldn’t stay in one place. Afterimages filled her vision when things passed her view. She was starting to see double.
She heard Garrett’s voice, as if it was far off in the distance. Distorted. Like it was slowed down, but going faster somehow. “Maddie? You good?”
“No, I…” She reached into her pocket, her hand shakily pulling out her phone. “T-trouble… Gotta c-call… Some-” Her fingers tried their best to work on the digital keypad.
5… 8… 9…
But it was no use. Before she could do anything else, she dropped her phone and stumbled into the counter. The device clattered to the ground and Garrett reached out to grab her. “Woah, Maddie!” He steadied her on her feet as her head fell motionless backwards.
Barely conscious, she heard another voice. A familiar voice.
“Yo, what’s going on? Maddie? Maddie, you good?” Her head was held forward by someone different. It was Darrel. Darrel was here.
He looked at Garrett while keeping her head upright. “What the fuck happened?!”
“I don’t know, man! I think she was drugged or something.” Garrett seemed worried. Both for Maddie’s safety, and because he didn’t want anyone thinking he did it.
“Shit!”
“We’ve been on the dancefloor for like, the past hour. Only coming back here and there to grab a quick drink- I swear, she’s been fine up until this point!”
Darrel looked around on the bar for a second. He picked up a glass with his free hand and put it forcefully back down on the counter. “Are you fucking kidding me?! Yo! Bartender! No fucking drink covers on this shit; are you for real right now?! It’s a fuckin’ college town dipshit!” He pointed to the ground, “Hey yo, get her phone. Put it in her purse.”
“Darrel…” Madeline slurred the name, pouting, and a couple of silent cries came from her throat.
“I gotchu, babygirl, don’t worry. I gotchu.” He picked Maddie up and turned to Garrett. “Yo, Garrett! Call the cops, tell’em someone’s been drugged at Shivers. Give’em my address and-” He thought about it for a second, looked down at her, then shook his head. “Actually, nah, fuck that. Way too sus. I’m takin’ her to her room! Tell’em she’ll be in the junior and senior dorm!”
“Yeah, for sure man, I’m on it.” Garrett took out his phone and immediately started calling the police.
And that was the last thing Madeline remembered…
3:07am - Grayson Library Parking Lot
Luz sat in her patrol car with it turned on so that the heat was going. When it’s in the forties outside, saving on gas money during your break suddenly becomes a bit less important than staying warm. To help with that, she also had a coffee she picked up at a twenty-four hour diner down the street, too.
Her phone dinged, and as she took another sip and looked down at it, she smirked and shook her head. The message appeared at the top of her screen, from one of her hookups this past year on campus, asking if she was DTF tonight. She went to move her thumb to click on the message, but she just hovered over it.
She was conflicted. Ever since that talk with Maddie earlier, she couldn’t even let her mind wander anywhere else. It was like there was a blockade there, and it was something she couldn’t move past for some reason. Both the jealousy, and the stinging remark that Maddie didn’t find her attractive. For some reason, hearing that out loud from her friend, just stung. It was a constant parasite eating away at her brain.
Luz shook her head and let the message on her phone stay unread. She clicked the device's screen off and looked back up through the windshield. “What’s wrong with me?”
But she narrowed her gaze, squinting to try and see something in the distance. “The hell?” Out in the middle of the green just outside the library, she could barely see the figure of someone. From this distance, in the dark, it just looked like a shadow. It seemed like they were kneeling on the ground, maybe?
What were they doing out here?
Luz got out of her car and slammed the door shut. The sound echoed through the night air like the clap of thunder. Upon hearing it, the figure quickly got up and immediately began running off across the green, towards the main strip.
“Hey!” Luz yelled out, trying to make out anything she could about the figure. Though it was harder to tell anything about it, she could, at the very least, see that they were wearing a baseball cap and were about, five-foot-four from the looks of it. Maybe five-foot-seven or five-foot-eight?
She started jogging towards the figure, though it was obvious with their headstart that she wasn’t going to catch them. When the security officer got ten or so yards away from where they were originally kneeling down, she watched them round the corner and leave her line of sight.
Luz shakes her head, then looks down a bit and sees another figure. Her eyes squint, and she instinctively reaches for her walkie. “This is campus security badge two-five-six out on the green outside of Grayson Library. I got a possible two-forty, requesting local law enforcement.”
The radio immediately came back with a voice. “Heard, two-five-six. Contacting law enforcement and backup will be there shortly.”
She began pulling out her flashlight. “Yo, you alright?” When she clicked it on and the circular light came to life, it was pointed down at the ground at her feet. Instinctively, Luz looked down.
She squinted, trying to make out what the wind had just blown against her pants.
It was hair. Auburn hair.
Her breath sped up and she slowly pointed her flashlight up and along the ground. Her voice was almost caught in her throat, and she began walking fast towards the unmoving figure. “Hey, I said ‘are you alright’!”
As Luz got closer, her worst fears became a reality.
With chunks of hair cut off, and an excess amount of blood from the multiple stab wounds to her chest…
It was Melody.
“Oh my god-!” Luz rushed over, pulling her walkie up to her mouth, the tears already starting to well up in a panic. “I need EMT’s! EMT’s- SEND EMT’s!” Her voice broke as she shouted into the device, then threw it on the ground.
She practically slid down next to her as she collapsed to her knees, reaching out and turning Melody’s face towards her to look into her eyes. “Mel! Mel, look at me!”
She did; but there was nothing there. Her eyes were as cold as her skin.
Luz put her hands on the wounds, pressing down hard to try and stop the bleeding. “Don’t do this! C’mon, don’t do this!” She pressed down again, looking at the blood seeping through her fingers and overtop her hands, then back to Melody’s face. Tears began to run down her cheeks. “Fuck- Mel, c’mon!”
As she cried, she leaned down to put her face just inches away from her friend’s as she whispered to her. The vacant stare that gazed back surely burned into her mind forever. “C’mon, what do you want, huh? W-what do you want me to do? Y-you want me to say that I love you? I- I do, okay? I love you. I love you so fucking much, Mel, just please don’t fucking do this to me- Please, God don’t do this…”
Her words were strained, said in the middle of sobs as her hands came up to caress Melody’s face. The blood smeared on her extremely pale, lifeless skin as Luz’s thumb gently stroked her cheek.
Luz looked out all around her and screamed as loud as she could. “HELP! SOMEONE HELP!”
She looked back to the body of what was once her friend. “God, no,” Luz began to cry uncontrollably. “No, no, please no…” She reached down and cradled Melody in her arms, bringing her up to hold her close. To embrace her one last time. “Please don’t go…” The blood began to soak into her uniform, but Luz didn’t care. She rocked back and forth, holding the corpse of one of the only people on this earth she could ever truly say she had loved.
The only sounds left in the dead of night were the whining of incoming sirens, and the sobs of a broken woman…

It was supposed to be just a trip between old friends, but it turned out that spring found them, blossoming a forgotten passion.
Everyone ran from one side to the other shouting and singing while you felt your stomach churn as you laying down on the couch waiting for that damn nausea to pass, staring at the old, turned off television. The sun was slowly hiding behind the horizon beginning the night, but for you it only reminds you of the early morning you spent awake. With your eyes closed, you felt like a burden in that state. Through the reflection of the television, with half-open eyes you saw Hongjoong approaching.
— Are you better? — He said, leaning on the couch.
Your head throbbed just from hearing his voice a little louder. You grimaced, bringing a hand to your temple, almost begging him not to open his mouth anymore. Maybe it was a little rude of you.
— Uh, sorry — Then he noticed — I'll speak more softly.
— No problem, it's not your fault — You reassured him, closing your eyes to avoid the light — What time is it, Joong?
Your stomach growled, begging you to eat something, but you were sure you would throw it all up. Damn anxiety, it should have passed by now.
— It's 4:30 pm — he whispered thoughtfully.
Silence hung for a moment, but this time it caused you immediate loneliness. You felt something on your forehead, making you open your eyes with difficulty. It was just Hongjoong checking your temperature with his cold hand. His bright eyes were full of concern despite his expressionless face.
— You need to eat something.
Anxiety. Even the idea of swallowing something repulsed you. You always felt like this on long trips, it took a little less time for the nausea and anxiety to pass. Probably because this time you were traveling with just your friends for the first time, even though it was only a few days in your parents' old summer house, your intuition indicated that something was different.
— I don't want to. It'll pass soon. Besides, I don't want to throw up.
Let's just say that Seonghwa's car almost got a new decoration on the trip. However, not even this infamous reminder made Hongjoong give up.
— You're as white as a sheet, you need to eat – he said more imposingly — I'm going to make some tea and think of something decent, you're going to eat even if I have to feed you. Your mother will kill me if she finds out that I left you on the verge of anemia — That's an exaggeration.
It was strange how he always found a way to take care of you. Not strange, in fact very adorable, almost brotherly to say the least. Knowing that it would be smarter not to argue, you just nodded.
— Aren't you going to see the lake?
Almost as a reflex, Hongjoong picked up a pillow, hitting Mingi, who came into the room excitedly. Poor thing. You laughed softly, avoiding moving, causing a possible dramatic stab.
— Is she still sick?
— Shut up, Mingi! — he scolded once more, coming out louder than he would have liked. Realizing it, Hongjoong looked at you, pleading for mercy on his face.
Your lips twisted chuckling. The headache was going away. Mentally thanking yourself, you sat down and looked through the door that pointed to the huge lawn surrounded by the forest. You felt foolish for being in that state instead of reliving your childhood memories in that place.
— She’s fine, look — Mingi pointed out, regretting it in the same second due to the storm in his eyes threatening them — Ah… Hongjoong, we were thinking about playing marcopolo¹, maybe going into the forest once more. What do you think?
— Here’s what you do, Mingi — From the beginning of the sentence and Kim’s tone, you already knew what was coming — Why don’t you go ahead and whenever I shout “Marco” you shout “Polo”, we’ll run, I’ll find out where you are. It’ll be super fun — he said ironically, gesturing, that sharp smile was the cherry on the cake.
Giving you a discouraged look, Mingi left cursing softly. You let the laziness melt away from your body and stood up, your shoulders feeling lighter. You didn’t feel the slightest bit like running after butterflies or jumping in the lake with the boys, but it was a start.
— Joon, I’m going up to my old room. I want to take a shower but I promise I’ll come down to help with dinner.
Your feet touched the floor more firmly, a relief.
— No problem, just rest. I’ll be right up to get you something to eat, princess.
Just like the warm sun of that afternoon, that lovely nickname warmed your chest. You went upstairs, walking through the hallways lit only by the rays of sunlight through the windows. It was like reliving a perfect memory, you could smell the cookies your mother baked, perfuming the house, while you and Hongjoong played hide and seek.
You've always been together since you can remember. You grew up together, two children who used to fight over Pokémon cards now barely spent time together due to their busy lives. Seeing the man Kim Hongjoong become filled you with pride. Distant but so familiar, and even from a distance he found a way to take care of you. Maybe it's true that a girl's first crush is the purest.
Entering your room, you caught a glimpse of the wallpaper on the walls with some war marks, that is, chalk scribbles, and your clean bed with a stuffed rabbit on top. Everything was as it always was, as if you had never even left that place.
Stopping for a second you noticed that finally that anxiety and nausea had passed, relieved you looked for your suitcase that Seonghwa had left next to your old dressing table. Out of the corner of your eye you captured your image in the axed mirror. You were a woman now.
After a relaxing bath, you put on a white dress with yellow flowers, like when your mother would bathe you and tidy you up after playing all afternoon completing your memories. You sat in front of the dressing table, fixing your hair with a smile on your face. Just to see if it was just a daydream, you opened the drawers and proved to yourself that that room had stopped in time.
You found things that you didn't even suspect existed anymore, like an unfinished sketchbook full of folds and a photo album. You opened the small album, a little dust tickling your nose indicating the time the object had been forgotten. Each frozen image made a movie run through your head. Until you found a photo of Hongjoong and you together, his knee was scraped, next to the bicycle revealing the reason for the injury. You laughed to yourself as you remembered the story behind the photo. You decided that you were going to teach Kim how to ride a bike without training wheels, helped him, but only for the first 5 seconds before he took his body and the bike to the ground. In an attempt to help, you did as your mother did and showered him with kisses.
— Knock knock — speaking of him — what are you laughing at? I could hear it as I walked up the stairs — he said, entering the room, balancing a cup in his hand and closing the door behind him with his foot.
Was the house too quiet or were you really excited? Probably both.
—Try drinking a little, it might help ease the… anxiety — he got lost in his own words, but his proud face said what was necessary.
Hongjoong quickly admired you from head to toe, not wanting to be caught doing such an act. You nodded in thanks, grabbing the hot cup and leaving it on the dresser.
— I found some interesting things here. Want to see? — you asked, sipping his tea.
He quickly nodded and you made room for him to sit next to you. You put the cup aside and opened the photo album showing that funny photo, to say the least. When he saw the photo, his face lit up and his previously rigid shoulders took on a relaxed posture, but once again all you could pay attention to was that sweet and funny laugh.
— I didn't know that photo existed. My knee hurt just looking at it — he scratched his head
— Do you want a little kiss to make it better?
Adorable! Both of your cheeks turned a peachy shade. Every joke has a grain of truth. You wanted that, didn't you? — I mean, maybe it wasn't obvious, but you couldn't argue — Your fear was that you wanted that but it could be platonic, or worse, being rejected. Why would he, who watched you grow up and protected you so much, see you as anything more than a friend? But there was a small chance that he was thinking the same thing and that's what you clung to.
— There's one more thing I wanted you to see.
You rummaged through the drawer, fully aware of what you would find. Feeling the objects, you turned to him and placed them in his hands.
— Wait a second, I remember these rings — Holding the rings at his fingertips, he shook his head in disbelief — I bought us lollipops after school and they came as a gift. Later, we played wedding games.
He remembered, even more vividly than you. Hongjoong had a lot to say, questions to ask, it was clear but a lump in his throat held back his words. Suddenly he felt 13 again, looking at you still wondering if it was the right thing to do. A breeze hit the back of the man's neck, that silence creating the perfect environment just for the two of you as if the universe had finally aligned.
— I promised I would take care of you. Even if you left my side I would still be waiting for you — he laughed breathlessly, his eyes were aimless — After all these years... are you still mine?
Millions of fireworks exploded, clearing your mind, finally opening the horizon. It took a few seconds for you to formulate a cohesive sentence, if you knew how torturous those milliseconds were for him. You looked at each other calmly, looking like two fools. Finally, the two of you met again. You brought your faces closer, waiting for his reaction. He left the boy he used to be behind, without hesitation he started a warm kiss. It was sweeter than you could ever imagine, his soft lips against yours gave you goosebumps all over. Taking a liberty, he brought a hand to the back of your neck, deepening the slow kiss that like gunpowder ran through your body, warming you completely. It gradually took a needier turn, as if your bodies were now acting on their own, searching for a perfect connection.
— Joon… wait a minute — you separated, taking a breath. His lips shone, calling you once more, but you knew that from then on it would be dangerous territory.
— What happened? Did I do something wrong? — You wanted to pinch yourself. It was impossible for someone as kind as him to exist. Fool, that’s how you should feel for not having opened your eyes sooner.
— No, no, no. I just… — you didn’t want to say it, it felt wrong to say such a thing to someone who until a few seconds ago was nothing more than your best friend. But your mistake was forgetting that he knows you, from your tantrums to your silliest quirks.
— I don’t want you to feel obligated to do anything. It’s okay — you said, making your lips form a line that was still cheerful.
That wasn’t exactly what you wanted to say.
You placed a hand on his chest, pushing him weakly out of the seat and standing up with him gently. You looked deep into his brown eyes and gave him two short kisses that had an innocent undertone.
— I’m tired of waiting for your love, Hongjoong.
Your hands ran over his shoulders, stopping around his neck, caressing the area. In perfect connection, he moved his hands, adorned with silver rings, to your waist, further limiting the distance between your bodies.
—Me too — he murmured — No more games.
Your lips met once more without any secondary thought making you question, in order to explore hidden parts of each other. He sought your warmth in someone who only offered him cold. After so long wanting more than the title “friend,” Hongjoong tried to remain calm, always aware of which part of you he could touch, controlling his growing urgency. You knew what you wanted, it was no longer a surprise. Given that, you helped him take off his shirt, throwing it anywhere in the room. That unknown sensation enveloped you more intensely to the point of being irreversible.
You guided him to the bed and laid him down, untying his belt, as passive-aggressive as he was. You seemed like completely different people at that moment, leaving any modesty aside. Your mesmerizing eyes enchanted him as you crawled towards him, that perfect vision at the same time angelic, promiscuous and seductive. You distributed kisses along his neck, going up his jaw to his ear, moaning softly just so he could have a taste of how much you wanted him. He grabbed your hips, adjusting you on his lap, desperately trying to have some kind of friction, that's when you felt how hard he was.
— I've been craving you for so long…
He whispered hoarsely, bringing you the taste of all the nights you fantasized about his hands running over the curves of your body, saying how good you're for him.
— So don't be shy, taste me.
You took off your dress, revealing your bare breasts. At that moment Hongjoong observed you like the most delicate piece of art, but he wanted to mark you, claiming you as his. He changed positions, attacking your breasts with kisses and hickeys. His tongue working on one of your nipples while he played with the other, pinching it, caused a mixture of sensations of sensitivity, pain and pleasure.
— shit, you're so amazing — you whined
— Oh, you like that? I can do this all night long, princess.
He grunted, smirking. Your nipple between his teeth caused you a strangely pleasurable agony. However, a lack grows inside you.
— I had a very nice dream that started like this — He said, looking at you, smiling sweetly.
— And how did it end? — you asked, feeling your skin boil.
— you teaching me how to make you feel good while I ruin my little princess.
His calm voice saying something so obscene was a reward for all the waiting during these years. You caressed his face, the warmth of his cheeks brought back memories, now being replaced by new ones.
— Let's end what you started — you whispered, pulling your silver necklace to get his attention.
He gave you a few short kisses, smiling sweetly at each small distance. From now on, words alone would not be enough to express his desires and feelings. While one of his hands supported you on the bed, the other slid down your body. After a light squeeze on your waist, he entered your panties. The silver of his rings made your stomach turn. Circular movements began on your pussy. He observed the smallest of your reactions, always returning to the most torturous points that were indicated to him, sliding his fingers over your slippery folds. He kissed your forehead lovingly even as you grumbled about his fingers searching for more.
— Please, Joon... I need you inside — You sighed a little frustrated.
— We waited so long, what are a few more seconds? — he teased, laughing — I just need to make sure I won't hurt you.
He didn't just want to try to take care of you, but to make sure that only he could hurt you the way he wanted. Slowly you felt your insides stretch and the cold silver once again made itself present, making you gasp heavily. Two of his fingers invaded you while his thumb continued its work tirelessly. Your low moans incited him even more, if you kept up this pace you wouldn't be able to last much longer, but it was far from enough. You grabbed his hand when you felt your sensitivity slowly increase, that didn't stop him from giving your swollen pussy a few taps, making you choke on your own breath.
— Hongjoong... — his sparkling eyes, so pure, begged for mercy.
He wanted to make sure that your first time together was the best possible for you, unfortunately they would have to avoid drawing attention. Next time he'll make sure to make you scream his name to whoever wants to hear, but right now he needed to remember what it's like to have fun with you.
— I want to see you cumming on my cock so badly
Hongjoong was making a great effort to contain himself just to worship you, but he couldn't ignore his own desire any longer. He got on top of you and pulled down his jeans, showing his covered hardness. He pulled you by the waist easily, already showing his need. The wet base of his cock slid over your wet pussy before invading you completely, making a wet sound, you swallowed every inch of him perfectly, your cervix was pressed, causing you ecstasy making you ignore any discomfort, feeling only him pulsating inside you. He moved his hips slowly, sliding into your warm interior, increasing the speed as your moans escaped.
— Fuck, you feel so good — he said, running his tongue over his teeth with a wicked smile, completely different from the Kim Hongjoong you always kept your eyes on — my babydoll is taking me so well…
The weakly afternoon sun hit his face and made him even more attractive, his concentrated expression and his hoarse moans made you lose yourself for a second, inert in pleasure in all forms, that's when you were surprised by voices outside the house, it seems the boys came back from the lake.
— Shit — he cursed, pushing the strands of sweat-damp hair back — Chill, baby. Don't hold back.
He stood above you, resting one hand on the headboard of the bed, now making full eye contact, which was a complete mess. It didn't take long for him to return to his work and thrust into you more aggressively this time, making it difficult not to make a sound. That's when he grabbed your hips, reaching your deepest point. Your insides contracted and euphoria took over you, you moaned slowly but were interrupted by him covering your mouth.
— Look at me — he couldn't be enjoying himself more — We need to be quiet. No one but me should hear you like this, right? — he asked rhetorically, going slower but rougher.
You nod with teary eyes, and he slowly takes his hand away, allowing you to breathe in relief.
— I don't care about who's outside — you whispered — Fill me up, please.
He was as surprised as you were to hear those words spoken by your sweet lips. Your wish was his command. Hearing you begging like that, he thrust into you again, hard, in contrast to a soft kiss that he started in an attempt to mask his own moans. You reached your limit, leaving his lips, and he just watched you so vulnerable, cumming on his dick, your liquids mixed and leaking through your pussy, sensitive to the touch. He lay down next to you, cradling you in his arms, caressing your hair, distributing simple kisses over every inch of your skin, showing how proud he was.
— You know we’re not just friends anymore, right? — You turned to him, snuggling into his chest, wondering if maybe you hadn’t sounded too oppressive.
— We’re already married. Have you forgotten? — He joked, easing the tension in your mind —Honestly, I don’t care about the title, but I’ll keep trying until you’re mine alone.
You kissed, leaving any doubts behind, staying there enjoying each other’s presence for a few seconds until you noticed the unusual silence for a full house. A few grumbles revealed the reason for the tranquility. Hongjoong snorted, rolling his eyes.
— Marco! — He called loudly, looking at the closed door.
And outside the room he heard someone answering “polo!”.
— Damn…

Bones - Part 6 [Mack x David]
A/N: This chapter has a lot of items in it for what was sent in as requests for the series! I hope you loooooove it! It's spicy, funny, and sweet all wrapped up in one. Happy Saturday, bbys!
Favorite quote? "You my girl, Hischier?" 😍🥵😩
Word Count: 4.5k
It’s almost laughable about what is currently happening right now.
If Mack thinks about the last year of her life, she really could not have imagined everything that has transpired. A year ago, she was still seeing David as a fling, a hot fuck whenever she felt the itch needed to be scratched. Which was a lot because, well, he’s David. Now, all her belongings are packed into brown boxes, ready to be carted away to David’s apartment. Well, their apartment.
This is all happening willingly. A lot of conversations have been had about this in the months since Mack returned to New York. As much as David assured her they could slow things down, Mack didn’t see the point. If they’re gonna do this, they should really do it. Commit. Go all in the way they both deserve now. She already ran once and she’s not doing it again.
So when Mack went the whole month of February without going back to her place, she brought the topic up.
“What if I move in?” Mack had asked in his arms as they watched TV together on a Wednesday night. Mack had terrible cramps and his hand laid across the warm, heating pad covering her lower abdomen, massaging lightly.
“Haven’t you already?” He murmured. Mack looked around his place, seeing her stuff littered everywhere. Maybe she’s made herself a little too at home.
“Okay, what if I brought everything here?” She reframed.
“I’d say it would finally be home for me too.” He answered, kissing her puckered lips.
That was a month ago. Mack broke her lease four months early and now she is here, monitoring the move with an iced espresso in her hand.
She grabs her phone, taking a picture of her by all her boxes and sending it to her boyfriend. David is currently out of town for the last Rangers road game of the season in Philadelphia. It was exciting to send him off knowing when he came back they would be living together. Her and David discussed their furniture and were able to consolidate it all down to fit into his place. Most of her decor has been donated though. The overly feminine pieces wouldn’t have made sense in the current modern, masculine design. David has already given her free reign to make changes.
Right now, Mack doesn’t have the desire. She likes it just the way it is.
After the movers pack up the last of her boxes, Mack walks down to the office to turn her keys in. She waves goodbye to the leasing office agents then moves to the lobby where Ron waits, already teary.
“I knew you would be gone after that first kiss.” Ron admits to her. Mack tears up, nodding her head.
“He is impossible to say no to.”
“I am happy for you, Mack.” He says as she hugs him. “This is good for you. Being closer to Lucie will be good too.” Ron is right about this, especially as Lucie is expecting her second daughter later in the year.
“Thank you, Ron. For everything. I’ll pop by and visit, okay? Bring you some Swiss Chocolate when I go back home.”
“I would love that. Tell your parents I said goodbye." Mack nods.
“How about see you later instead?” Ron smiles then waves her off to her next chapter like the good, kind man he is.
The movers are already in motion when she arrives to her new, familiar building. She quickly rushes upstairs and then gets out of their way again. She sits at the dining room table, checking in on work chats and emails. They are done in under an hour. Mack tips them in extra cash for the quick service, then shuts the door behind them all. She leans back against the door and grins. She snaps another picture to send to David.
Welcome home, honey
Come home to me soon 🥺
I will. Don’t give away any of my shit until I get home.
Say please.
Please. Brat.
Mack snickers then sends him a thumbs up in response.
The rest of the day she unpacks her things. She is able to get all of her clothes and bathroom items put away before the game starts. Then once it does, she moves to the kitchen so she can multitask. Anything that there is double of, she leaves out on the counter for them to discuss.
Mack raises her gaze to the TV when the announcers exclaim that David is fighting with another player. She winces as David’s fist connects with the guys face, sending him to the ice with a bloody cheek. She shakes her head as David skates lazily towards the penalty box, unaffected. Men.
Mack is still unwrapping glassware in the kitchen when David comes home. She took a long, extended break to have dinner with Lucie downstairs. Then she helped read Stella bed time stories until she fell asleep. By the time Mack left, Lucie had been asleep on the couch too. This arrangement is already working out wonderfully for the Hischier girls.
“Honey, I’m home.” David calls out as he walks in. She laughs.
“How long have you been dying to do that?”
“Oh, forever.” He admits. He tosses his bag by the door, then walks into hug her in the kitchen. “Look at you lil unpacking machine.” He kisses her lips. “What’s all this?”
“This is the stuff we have doubles of.”
“Cool. I do not want to do this tonight.”
“No, tomorrow. I’m sleepy.”
“Did they set the bed up?” Mack and David decided to keep Mack’s bed and move his into the second bedroom where her office will be.
“Yep. I washed the sheets. We’re all set.”
“I have been so excited to go to bed tonight.” He chuckles. “Not just because of your bed, but knowing I get you in it every night now…” He trails off. Mack smiles softly up at him, then tugs him by his tie down to kiss him again. David’s hands wind along her back. “You happy, baby?”
“So happy.” She murmurs, chin resting on his chest. He smoothes her hair down at the sides, then leans forward to smooch her lips longingly. “My pretty girl.” He says against her lips, then kisses her deeper.
“You feeling lucky tonight?”
“Mhm.” He mumbles, hands sliding down to her ass. They grip there for a moment, then go to the backs of her thighs to lift her up. As he is walking her to the hallway, his phone rings in his pocket. He sets Mack down on the bed, then pulls the phone out to see who is calling so late.
“Hey Woody.” He answers. He pops the phone on speaker so Mack can hear.
“Hey, uh, can one of you, or both of you, I don’t care, come down and sit with Stella? She’s asleep, but Lucie woke up and is bleeding. We called her doctor and they want her to come in.” Mack sits up quickly.
“Yeah I’ll come down.” Mack says to Connor.
“Thank you. Can you hurry? I’m trying to get Luc there ASAP.”
“Yep, I’m on my way,” Mack reaches for her phone that was charging on the nightstand. She grabs a sweatshirt from the closet, then kisses David goodbye.
“I’ll change and come down.” He calls to her.
“Okay.”
When Mack gets to Connor and Lucie’s apartment, they have the door open, waiting for her.
“Good luck. I love you.” Mack offers to them both. “Text me whats going on when you can.”
“We will.” Connor answers for his wife who looks white as a ghost. Tears line her brown eyes as her husband leads her from the apartment. The door softly shuts behind them. Mack goes to the kitchen to get herself a glass of water, then gets to work on loading dirty dishes from the sink into the dishwasher. She needs to be doing something with her hands after that interaction.
A knock sounds on the door, then David comes popping in.
“Hey honey, did you talk with them?”
“Not really. Lucie looked pretty worried. They were anxious to get going.”
“Hopefully everything is okay.” He brings a hand to her shoulder, rubbing at it, providing her comfort. Mack nods, feeling her throat clog up with emotion. She’s scared for her sister. Pregnancy is no joke. The issues that both mom’s and babies can have are sometimes life threatening. Mack feels queasy just thinking about something being wrong with Lucie or the baby.
“I’m gonna go sit down I think.” Mack murmurs. David follows her to the couch, helping her sit. Mack swallows hard as David wanders back to the kitchen to grab her water for her. He hands it to her. Mack thanks him.
Little, bare footprints hit the hallway. David turns around, seeing a sleepy, pouty Stella appear in the lit hallway arch.
“Where’s daddy?” She asks, rubbing her little eyes tiredly.
“Him and mommy went to go check on your baby sister.” Mack tells her. She opens her arms of her niece and sighs contently when Stella wiggles into her lap. David sits down next to the two girls, offering his hand to Stella for her to hold. She grips two of his fingers with her little hand.
“Why didn’t I get to go?”
“Cause it’s late.”
“I got to go last time.” Lucie and Connor took her to the 20 week appointment so Stella could see her little sister on the ultrasound. It was the talk of her entire week.
“Yeah, this one is a little different, babe.” Mack murmurs, kissing her head as Stella drops it to her shoulder. David reaches up, smoothing back Stella’s wild brown curls.
The three of them sit on the couch like that, quietly comforting one another until Mack gets a text from Connor.
On our way back. Everything is okay.
Mack and David sigh in pure relief. David peeks at Stella’s face, seeing her passed out.
“I’ll take her back to bed.”
Mack allows him to pick her up then follows him down to Stella’s bedroom. In the doorway, she watches David tuck Stella into her little pink, princess bed. He brings the blankets back up to her mid chest, then re-arranges her stuffed animals around her like she prefers. Mack smiles. He’s so good at taking care of his people. Then with a gentle pat of her hair, David walks quietly out of the room. He weaves his and Mack’s fingers together and leads her back to the living room where they wait for Lucie and Connor to return. When they do, the four of them share hugs between each other.
“Thank you, guys.” Connor murmurs as he walks them to the door. Lucie has already padded down the hallway to go to bed, utterly exhausted.
“Of course. We are so thankful everything is okay too.” Mack tells him.
“How did the move go?”
“Good.” She assures him. Connor nods.
“I’m glad your close by now with this guy.” Connor clasps David’s shoulder. “Now I just need him to officially be my brother…” Connor’s blue eyes sparkle playfully.
“Okay, goodnight.” Mack smiles, patting Connor’s arm as she walks through the door.
“What, nothing? You two are really not gonna give me anything?”
“Nope.” David shrugs. “Goodnight.” He tosses an arm around Mack’s shoulders. He kisses her head, then looks back, smirking at his defense partner. Connor scoffs at them then begrudgingly calls goodnight down the hallway. The soft click of the door has Mack and David snickering to each other.
“We’ll never tell.” David jokes to her.
“Never. When we get married, let’s not tell him for like six months.” Mack tangles their fingers together at her right shoulder.
“Oh we’re getting married?” David asks slyly.
“You know we are.”
“I do. Just didn’t realize you did…” He trails off with a smug smirk.
“I don’t move in with guys I don’t see as my future husband.”
“Plural, huh? Damn, I thought I was special.” Mack laughs loudly as they step into the elevator.
“You know what I mean!”
“Yeah that apparently I got some competition somewhere.”
“No, you don’t.” Mack shakes her head. “It’s only ever gonna be you.”
“Ditto, beautiful.” He puckers his lips like a duck at her.
Mack kisses him deeply, then leads him out of the elevator to continue what they started in their bedroom before.
- - - & - - -
The heavy purr of David’s motorcycle beneath Mack’s thighs is weirdly comforting. Playoffs are starting tomorrow and all David wanted to do with his last, non-hectic day was to take out the bike. The weather is cooperating. It’s a warm enough day that Mack won’t freeze in the wind and the streets are mostly cleaned off from the winter time gunk. David had called Mack on his way back from practice, asking her to play hooky with her work day. So she did.
The breeze rolls through Mack’s hair, whipping it about in it’s pony tail that trails down her back. The helmet is making her face and head sweaty, but she doesn’t mind. Her hands spread out along David’s stomach, holding on to him as they take each lazy turn of the Hudson River trail. They’re well out of the city now, seeing the budding trees and the expansive rolling river as it climbs further North. Mack and David did this ride in the fall to see the changing leaves during a few day break for training camp. It’s fun to see the trees coming full circle with their Spring blooms.
David taps Mack’s thigh, letting her know they are going to be changing speeds. He slows down as they come to a scenic overlook. It’s a Tuesday afternoon, so they are alone on the road. David brings the bike to a stop. The shudders of the engine shake Mack as she flips her helmet off. David kicks the stand down, then stands, holding a hand out to help her off.
“You’re getting good at this, honey.” He compliments her as she fixes her hair back into a smoother hairstyle. He puts his helmet next to hers on the bike then stretches out his neck and shoulders as he walks towards the stone wall curving around the cliff. “Damn. If we didn’t start off in the city, I might almost be able to believe we are back home.” Mack smiles in agreement. They are quiet, observing the gorgeous, rolling hills of trees and the lazy flow of the river.
“This was such a good idea. Thank you.” Mack acknowledges. She has been feeling uninspired and antsy in her professional life, even as her personal life smoothes to a steady, comfortable cruise. She just hates everything she is writing. How is it possible she can be in such different places, but her words all sound the same?
“Thank you for coming with me.”
“Of course.” She acknowledges. “I’d go anywhere with you.” David smiles.
“Except Dallas?” Mack stills. Dallas and David haven’t come up together in months. Well maybe it has, but she hasn’t been searching it out like before.
“Oh?”
“What about New York?” Mack looks away, thinking about where this is going.
“I mean, yeah? We were just there.”
“What about if we are there for 8 more years?” Mack startles.
“What?” Her voice already is small and timid from trying to control her emotions.
“Paperwork is coming today.”
“I thought…”
“I did too. But they approached my agent about it last week and I said get it done. Whatever they’re willing to pay me, I’ll take it.”
“So a dollar?” Mack jokes. David tilts his head back and laughs loudly at the sky. Then he reaches for her, pulling her into his chest to hold her close.
“I’m already a rich man having you, honey. I don’t need anything else. I know I tell you stuff like that all the time, but I mean it. This is the first time something big is happening for me when I have someone in my life. I’m so glad it’s you. I love sharing all this with you.”
“Is this the same speech you’re going to give to Connor?”
“Yes.” David smirks. “Can’t live without him either.” Mack giggles, gripping the opening of his leather jacket.
“Wow. New York for eight years. A Ranger for life?”
“Mhm.”
“You’re going to be so old in 8 years… And I’ll still be young.”
“Yeah, don’t worry, we’ll get you passed on to your second husband by then.”
“I can do 8 years with you.” Mack nods in agreement. “I get half though?”
“Sure! If I get half of yours.” Mack gasps then shakes her head no immediately. Despite David’s NHL salary and his lucrative farming business, Mack’s money surpasses his by close to 10 million. Daddy’s money grew well over the years with various, hands-off investments. It will continue to do so in the next 8 years too.
“I’m happy for you. Proud too. You’ve worked so hard to get here. You deserve this.”
“Thank you.” He nods, looking stoic and proud. “I’m excited to see where we are in 8 years.” He squeeze her fingers as they pull apart, looking back out over the gorgeous view they’re in front of.
“Yeah.” Mack murmurs.
But after this last year, Mack knows there is no use trying to picture it now. She’s sure it’s all going to come together the way it should, better than she could even imagine it anyway. Plus right now, all she cares about is being who they are in this moment.
Two people at the starting line of love with a whole life left to live.
- - - & - - -
Inside MSG, Mack and Lucie hold hands with Stella as they walk down the concourse to their seats. All three ladies are decked out in their Rangers playoffs gear. Lucie and Stella have bold white letters with their last name and Connor’s number while Mack is adorned in Carlson and 14. Butterflies are swarming in Mack’s stomach that the margarita at dinner did nothing to fix.
“I wish I could drink right now.” Lucie mutters to her sister as the national anthem ends. The boys are in their home blues, circling around and then gathering at the bench for the opening face off.
“Yeah.” Mack breathes out. Usually, she doesn’t care. But today she does. It’s playoffs. The team has a real chance this year and honestly, with David’s long term investment being announced today, she wants him to play well. She wants him to show the fans and the team exactly what they’re going to get for the next eight years.
As David lines up on Connor’s right side. Mack folds her lip into her mouth. She crosses her legs, sending out safe vibes for her man.
Then the puck drops and utter chaos breaks out.
The game is intense. The crowd loud and in the opposing team’s face. Constant cheering and buzz swirls round them as the teams battle on the ice. David keeps getting into little scrums. Mack sighs every time she sees his gloved hand face wash someone. He jaws at number 44 on the opposing team half the time they’re on the ice together.
At the start of the third period, the game is tied 1-1. The Rangers need a push and it’s no surprise to anyone that David drops the gloves with 44. The two of them swing heavy blows at each other, some connecting, some wizzing by the others head. It’s David that ends up on top. As he skates to the box, he swings his arms up in the air, yelling at the crowd to get pumped. Mack giggles, looking over at her sister.
“Why is that so hot?” Mack nibbles her lip seductively, looking down at him in the penalty box. He runs a towel over his face and hair, leaving the black strands sticking up in places.
“I don’t know.” Lucie shrugs.
“Why did he fight?” Stella asks, looking over at Mack like she should answer for him. “Was he mean?”
“Yeah.” Mack settles on. She isn’t sure what else she could say. Stella is too young to understand the nuances of the game and truthfully, Mack doesn’t think she would care anyway. She’s all about trying to get her second bundle of cotton candy.
The team battles to hold their 1-1 tie game while David is in the box. Several dangerous looks are tossed on goal but the Rangers goalie keeps the team in the game. The crowd cheers loudly when David skates out of the box after his time is done. Now that they have fought, 44 and David keep their distance from each other. David has a game to win and his focus is on the next 10 minutes to get them the W.
It takes another 5 minutes, but the Rangers score. Lucie and Mack fly out of their seats, high-fiving and yelling loudly for their boys as they roll through the bench handshake line.
“Connor assisted on that.” Lucie beams proudly.
The next five minutes feel like hours. Several quick whistles hit. TV time outs play out then an on the ice time out before the opponents pull their goalie. Mack watches through her fingers as the clock winds down. David goes down to block a shot that has Mack yelping. He is fine, but she didn’t like that one. When the final buzzer sounds to signal a Rangers win, the building erupts. Fans wave their white towels furiously with their cheers.
The Rangers have one of their 16 wins.
After the game, Lucie and Mack hang out to wait for the boys. Media takes longer in the playoffs and it’s no surprise that both Connor and David are pulled aside for interviews. They walk out of the locker room together, dressed, with still wet hair as they discuss a few plays from the game.
“Next time, let’s look for a reverse there. I don’t think their forecheck can pick that off behind the net.” David says to Connor.
“I agree. Also I wanna see us stepping up more at the blue line. Light ‘em up.” Connor smirks at his partner as they come to stop by the girls.
“Really?” Lucie whines. “Don’t forget someone here is pregnant.” Her belly pokes out of her jacket as she puts her hands on her hips.
“I did that.” Connor sighs happily. He puts a hand on her belly then leans down to kiss her. David does the same with Mack, minus the hand on her stomach.
“Couldn’t resist, huh?” Mack asks David.
“Never.” He grins.
“I liked it.” She admits. “There is something about you all sexy and ruffled in the penalty box that gets to me.”
“Alright. Bye Woods!” David announces. He wraps Mack up tight into his side, almost head locking her in place. Mack laughs, holding onto his back as he drags her forward.
“Bye!” Mack yells, waving to them without looking back. David’s fingers run over the Carlson on her back as he opens the passenger side door for her.
“Speaking of looking sexy…” He trails off, grinning at her.
“Take me home, cowboy.”
David races home, weaving through traffic quickly so he can get Mackenzie Hischier stripped down to just that jacket on her body. When he slides his cock into her from behind, his low groan of appreciation has Mack buzzing as hard as the arena was earlier.
“Fuck. Look so good with me all over you.” David murmurs. His hands run under her jacket to grab her bare hips. His eyes take in her Carlson covered back as he pumps deep inside of her. Mack whimpers at the delicious fullness of him. His palms slide up to her chest, cupping her breasts as she takes him deep. Mack presses up on her hands so his chest meets her back, then she turns her face to moan into his mouth. “You my girl, Hischier?”
“Yes.”
“Mmm that’s right.” He grabs her cheek, keeping her face turned towards his so he can kiss her and fuck her at the same time. He helps her raised more on her knees so it’s easier for them to stay connected everywhere. “All mine.”
Their change in position makes everything deeper. Mack grasps at his neck to hold on while he pistons into her wet core. His other hand trails down her stomach, wiggling her clit in wild strokes.
“I love you.” He says, resting their noses together as he fucks harder into her.
“I love you.” She moans back. The back of her head hits his shoulder and he finishes her off after her desperate pleas for him to make her come.
He pulls out of her afterwards, gently peeling her jacket off to put it in the closet for the game on Thursday. Then he cleans up in the bathroom before coming back to take care of her.
After he is done wiping her clean, he kisses her deeply. Mack’s heart aches for him to be closer even as he pulls her into his chest to cuddle. It never feels like they are close enough for her. She wants to be pasted to him at all times. Mack brings the fingers of her left hand up to his chest. She traces zig zags down his sternum as a tiredness from their big day of activity begins to descend.
A thought comes to her as she thinks about the next eight years spent right here with him.
“I would have gone to Dallas with you. Or Seattle. Or anywhere.” She murmurs to him. “I only want us to be together. It doesn’t matter where.”
“I’m glad you say that because… I wanna be honest with you. This is my last deal and when it’s done, I wanna head home. Build a life there with you that is slower and quieter than this.” His fingers massage her scalp as he talks.
“I would really like that.” Mack tells him. “We can have matching rocking chairs?”
“Of course. I’ll build you one this summer.” Mack nods.
“I know we have some time before then, but I’m hoping you’ll come home with me this summer. Maybe the end of June? Depending on how things go?” Mack offers to him. She’s been thinking about how much she wants to show him of home. She got to experience him in Iowa and she wants him to see her at home too. In her parents lake house where he can get to know her parents and Sophie better.
“Yes. Of course. If things end early here, we can go right away. We could spend a whole month there if you want.”
“Okay.” Mack nods, smiling into his chest. “I’ll take you to the cabin. Show you were I realized how much I wanted this with you.”
“I’d love that.” He acknowledges, squeezing her in tighter.
It all sounds so easy, wrapped up naked in each other now. All the fear about how hard this could be or how it could not work out is gone. Instead, they’re communicating. They’re asking each other to lean in and sometimes compromise too. Both of them are so willing to do that now.
Because this is worth it.
No matter where. No matter what.

[16]: Think Fast
People who figured out what map you’re hiding on, let me know! :)
Reader has a very “slice of life” attitude. She takes things as it is, and if she can’t change things at first, she just accepts them, because what else can she really do?
Much longer than my other stories, btw!
⚠️THIS STORY CONTAINS SEXUAL CONTENT. BE WARNED.⚠️
You were so paranoid you feared your heavy breathing was going to attract a twisted.
Floor 24. 5 Twisteds. 8 machines. One you against all of it, and them.
At least you had full health, but that didn’t make TWISTED VEE, SPROUT, AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, DANDY ANY BETTER!
Funny, because you had a Vee and a Sprout in the team. Sprout died at floor 18, Vee at 21.
You would have screamed in anger if your sense of fear didn’t overrule it. You knew doing a Dandy run alone was risky, but this!? This was any solo runner’s worst nightmare.
You’d have just given up if you didn’t need research for that Dandy plush.
You have to stop hiding behind the shelves at some point. At this pace, you’ll never get off this floor!
How many did you have again? Looking up, you saw the big numbers right across the gray bar. 5/9.
Inhaling and exhaling slowly, you calmed yourself, checked both ways for Twisteds, and ran. You ran, and ran, and ran, for what seemed like forever. You heard footsteps behind you at one point, but you think you lost whoever it was. Probably the Tisha on this floor or something.
You quickly spotted a machine near you with a red light, and made a dash to it after you had regained a bit of stamina. Turning the valve as quickly but quietly as you could, you strained your arms to extract faster while also straining your ears to hear past the creaking and dripping sounds.
Okay, Dandy’s going to run over here as soon as I finish this machine. Legs, you better not fail on me now!
As soon as you heard the ding of the machine and heavy thuds coming your way, you instantly dashed around the corner into another room. Seeing a huge round…thing,(you didn’t know how to describe it other than it was a big cylinder that was see-through halfway up) you took it as your hiding place and crossed your fingers to not get caught.
After a minute, you slowly turned and peeked up over the glass. Your eyes widened and you slapped a hand over your mouth as you saw bright, pointed petals fanned out and blood-red eyes searching the area. His looming form towered over you; he was at least 5 of you stacked, if not more!
Don’tmakeasounddon’tmakeasounddon’tmakeasound-!
You ducked back behind the tube and squeezed your eyes shut, waiting for him to pass. It felt like forever until you heard the loud thudding of his footsteps getting quiet.
Was he gone? You quickly composed yourself and looked around. YES! That’s 6/9. You can do this, keep pushing! And maybe, as a sort of reward, you would get a break floor next! No blackout, all common twisteds, someplace where you could recover from your fear and rest.
Hurrying yourself, you pushed off the floor and sprinted to the nearest stack of boxes.
A memory of you pretending to be a spy as a kid came to your mind as you crouched there before you pushed it away. Now isn't the time.
Seeing another machine close to you, you were about to dash over to it before you hear the footsteps of Vee walking by your hiding place. You stay as silent as you possibly can, and when she finally leaves, jog over to the machine.
Dandy's going to run over here again. Where can I hide?? I guess I'll just have to hope he's not close by and I can get far enough away before he sees me.
Hearing the familiar thuds, you run to the nearest large shelf and kneel down, praying that he doesn't see you.The thuds grow louder, and after a bit, grow quieter. You look around the corner.
You're getting there! 7/9 done! Now, where's the last one?
You had already primed a machine near the elevator so you didn't have to risk going across the entire map in 25 seconds, so technically you had 8/9.
But after searching for it for a while, you were actually starting to panic when you couldn't find any more machines. But then you saw it.
A machine. In the MIDDLE OF THE MAP.
Oh, just great! They had to pick the worst possible map for the worst possible twisteds for the worst possible machine placements and then they decide to put me, the worst possible person on it and-
Your head was spinning at the thought of trying that machine. At least you had a high extraction speed?
You have to do it at some point.
So, you waited. You genuinely didn't know how long you sat there waiting for the coast to be clear, but it was a long time. It was always one of them that was there.
Finally, the middle was empty of twisteds, and you ran with all your might to the machine. Turning the valve as fast as you could, you constantly checked for twisteds around the corners.
Okay, Dandy is by the broken elevator, Vee is by the elevator…Sprout is…last time you saw Sprout he was off to the side somewhere.
Halfway done. The extraction was halfway done. Seeing a bit of green out of the corner of your eye, you duck behind a shelf again and begin the next long, long waiting session for them to leave the middle. Thank goodness the twisteds couldn’t hear your heavy breathing.
You would probably have fallen asleep if you weren't in such a dangerous situation.
Going back. ¾ done. Hiding again. Just a little more…!
You took a deep breath. This was it. Seeing the light change to green, you ran in the direction of the elevator, leaving the approaching Dandy behind to look at your finished work. See it and weep, flower.
…Turns out Vee was still there.
You let out a scream as your speed was halved, emptying your stamina bar bit by bit.
112/125. 84/125. 59/125. 31/125.
She wouldn't stop following you!
You sped around the corner, ducking behind boxes and trying to lose her, but her attention span was just too high! Slowing to a walk to conserve your stamina, you snatched a granola bar out of your pocket and hastily pulled off the wrapper.
Taking a large bite, you huffed as a tingling sensation flew through you. But it still wasn't enough, so you grabbed a POP can off the floor and tore off the opener, downing it and trying once again, to hide behind a shelf.
You were running out of items too now! This is looking bad…but you need to circle back to the elevator!
You slowed down again, shoes screeching against the floor in a sharp turn, before you let out an “Oof!” as you ran straight first into a wall.
Wait…that's not a wall. It just moved.
You fell back to the floor, nearly slamming your head against the ground. Quickly trying to get up again in a panic, you realized you couldn't move. You could only see bits of black ichor through your blurry eyesight, clouded with tears as you struggled.
You were so close…and yet so far…and now, it's come to an end. You made a good effort, but in due time, you would have died like the rest of your friends.
The restraints around you flexed, lifting you higher. A black…hand. So this is Sprout. Fair enough that you would die to one of your past teammates.
Mechanical whirrs and beeping drew closer, and you opened your eyes to see Vee's usual glare change into a sort of cruel smirk as she looked at you.
Concluding that you were dead, she walked away, leaving you alone to die.
Closing your eyes again and sagging in the fist that held you tight, you waited for him to kill you.
A sort of groan echoed through the room, and you were…let go? You couldn't tell, you had your eyes closed. No. You weren't let go. A wave of dizziness washed over you as you were turned, gravity pulling you down. Slowly opening your eyes again, you stared at the floor confused.
Was he holding you by the back of your shirt?
…
He was, wasn't he?
Shocked and annoyed, you flailed around, trying to get your shirt to rip and let go. There was a growl from behind you, but you didn't care. If you were going to die, you were going to put up a fight.
Ugh, he summoned one of those stupid tendrils again…what’s he gonna do now? Stab you? Actually yeah, probably.
You momentarily stopped struggling to glare at him in what you thought was your final moments, but your eyes widened as you heard a ripping sound and the cold air hit your back, making you shiver.
What the hell is he doing!?
You tried to look back in a moment of confusion, before choking on your own spit as you were thrusted forward. Tears pricked at your eyes as you felt pain invade your senses. Lots of pain. IT HURT.
What. The. Hell.
Is…
You refused to accept the fact that this was actually happening and tried to struggle again, but let out a whine at the friction behind you.
…You tried to process what just happened in your mind, but nothing came up. Mumbling curses to yourself, you tried to at least make yourself comfortable in preparation for what was to come.
The tendril in you was…cold, to say the least. Really cold.
It’s covered in ink, what did you expect?
I don’t know! I…nevermind, I’m not going into detail about that.
You grit your teeth as the tendril began to move, slowly at first, but gradually speeding up. It felt like it was destroying your insides, stretching you out in every possible way. The huge hand adjusted itself, supporting your weight to lay under you.
Was pain supposed to feel good? Probably not. But it did. You gripped the black ichor in front of you, your hands slipping and sliding off of it constantly as you tried to get a firm grip.
You let out a hiss as the tendril thrusted particularly rough. Huffing, you slumped your head to lie on the huge black hand as you gave up the fight. All you could really do was squeeze your thighs in response and let out pitiful whines.
Your eyes opened, as open as half-lidded eyes could, to stare at the floor.
How had you stooped to this level? You don’t really know.
…Did you even really care with how good it felt?
…
You jerked as the thrusts began to speed up more, and you laid your face back down in shame and pleasure.
Your stomach felt like it was twisting into knots, whether that was good or not, you really didn’t care. You couldn't even properly focus on it right now.
…At least you were flexible?
Oh, who are you kidding, trying to make the best out of the situation.
You groaned, feeling a coil tighten within you. Your nails dug into the ichor beneath you, the feeling of being stuffed imprinted into your mind.
This was sick. You were sick. This…monster was sick. You just wanted to see your friends again.
…That’s all you wanted.
You let out a loud cry as you felt the coil snap, gushing over the intrusion buried deep within you.
…
So there you lay…wasted and spent on the floor.
It felt like everything was floating around you, like you were in space, lying among the millions of stars.
The galaxies would swirl in masses right before your eyes, imploring you to reach out and touch them, but you could barely move an arm to do so. It helped you escape the shame of how much you had loved it. It was so dark…and yet bright, a haze like you would probably never be in again.
…
Footsteps…near you…being…lift…ed…wh…y…?

❝Somehow I didn't expect you to,❞ Law murmured thoughtfully. And he hadn't. Every time he'd allowed his thoughts to drift that far into an imaginary future - the one where she might come back to him one day, called home by the memories its fabric had conjured on the nights she'd remembered she missed him… He'd never expected an apology. For any of it - from leaving in the first place or taking his favorite shirt when she'd left to waiting however long it had taken to come back again.
Even when days had dragged on and her return had seemed more and more unlikely, and wishful thoughts had turned not to a tomorrow, nor to a week or month from now, but to some distant, far off future in which she might come back again…
Even when he had wanted to be angry - when hurt outweighed his hopes and he wanted her to regret what she had done to him, he'd never pictured Nami apologizing for any of it.
He hadn't wanted her to. Because if the day ever came when Nami did come back to him, whether he saw it a month down the line or three years down the line, if Nami didn't apologize for anything, then he wouldn't have to relive it. The way he had imagined it, if Nami would simply come back - come back to the place he'd promised could be a home for her if she'd wanted it, as if that were all it was - coming home after being away for a while…
If she waited for him at home one day as though none of it had happened, they could carry on as though it hadn't. He wouldn't need an apology because there'd be nothing to apologize for; she'd simply… be there, just like she'd said she wanted.
In all his wishful thinking, when a voice in his head had insisted that was all it was and that she wouldn't come back again, he had ignored it by pretending it could be that simple. They wouldn't have to tiptoe around one another or search for the right words to say as they were doing now.
He'd simply take the offered shirt back, shake his head as if she'd done something silly that hadn't hurt and hadn't mattered, and welcome her home again.
But here was that impossible future playing out around them, and it wasn't like Law had imagined. It was tentative and awkward. And though Law felt a surge of relief when she thrust the shirt into his hands and made for his bedroom, the reality had thrown things at him he'd never anticipated.
You know where they are, he wanted to tell her. Indication that she could take whichever of his shirts he wanted - that he thought of it not as his bedroom, but as theirs, because that was how he'd wanted this to go. In the version of this he'd been imagining all this time, Nami would already be settled in and he might have joined her in the shower.
But in this version of events, Nami hadn't returned to him alone. There was a journal on the living room table - a record of the life growing inside of her so far, and Law wasn't sure where that left them. Torn between the desire to make it normal again - to follow after her like it was natural or return to the living room to address the truth he'd yet to fully process, the words lodged in his throat.
Instead of teasing like he might have, insisting there was no point in her choosing a shirt when he fully intended to take it off of her like he might have in the future he'd imagined, Law only nodded and looked down at the crumpled fabric in his hands.
You can put them wherever you want, okay?
I want -
Unless you'd rather-
❝Right - well… It might take some time to get this one back to smelling right again. Guess you'll have to make do with another until then. In the meantime I'll go check on that movie. Let me know if you need anything,❞ he offered. Turning away before she could answer, he set off toward the living room, leaving the ginger to her own devices before one more thing he wanted to feel easy again - natural again could prove itself anything but.

pretty minor thing to think about, but i find it interesting how chapter 7 is the first chapter illustration to show chizuutan as chizuru (instead of chuutan)
like, i get it’s a flashback chapter, but we hardly got to see her as chizuru in the previous few chapters thus far… maybe we’ll get to see more of her as her true self after the hiyori fight/make up? only future chapters may tell, i guess…
#there’s like 5 weeks to go till chapter 6 is released into the rest of the world and i m n o t r e a d y—#man. chapter 5 still manages to ruin my mood no matter how many times i read it… man.#i was having so much fun with renren and concon and the 3 stooges and th e n.#imagine putting on a (somewhat) perfect/cute act to hide your true self because you know you’re unlovable the way you are#but then someone else runs along and screws up every step of the way without putting on any airs and is adored for it anyway…#i imagine chapter 6 will be much worse. especially since the start of the flashback begins there…#i sincerely hope the flashback ends in chapter 7 bc aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa#though. considering where we are now in the series. i think there’s a chance that vol 2 will come out at the end of december#ch 8 will prolly start to drop somewhere around the later half of november so it seems about right…#b u t if there’s the preorder bonus manga for vol 2 in dec can we have santa girl chuutan in it p l s—#i think we’ll need an incredibly cute bonus feature to lift the mood from whatever the heck’s going on with vol 2’s chapters#bc. idk. im sensing some self hatred with this one chizuchan… it’s as though she can only love herself if she’s dolled up as chuutan…#like. even in her aizo self-insert delusions she’s thinking of herself as chuutan… maybe im reading too much into this. hm.#but then again she even puts on makeup when she’s at home in her own room…#w a i t a sec what if this wack behaviour only came about bc of what’s about to be revealed in the flashbacks. wait. no. w h a t if—#i hope manga chizuchan will be able to love herself properly soon… we all love you chizuchan~~~~~~~~~~#this. too. is our oshi no—#dammit why is something set in the same universe as the [redacted] anime making me feel things??? i hate itttttttttt#anyways. wh. what if one of the h10w turns out to be an anime adaptation of the chizuchan manga#and they’re just waiting on. like. the final vol to announce it.#it’d make the most sense for an anime series at this point… since chizuchan is marketable and it’s set in the same anime verse#so there’s no inconsistencies to retcon and such…#but!!!! most importantly!!!!!! we’d be able to see animated renren and concon!!!!!!!#…but something like this will only appear in my delusions huh~~~~~~~~~~~~~~#mousou dake no kawaikute gomen anime#ok that’s enough thinking for the day; back to kimikawaii mv g o o d b y e~~~~#chizuutan chizpost

Chapter 5 ~ Having Some (Not So) Big Fun!
TW: SA - skimmed over because im not writing that in detail
They pull into the driveway of the house, the music able to be heard from the outside due to swung open doors and windows. Heather's stomach twists and tightens, her heart has began running a marathon and beats against her ribcage. She can feel herself starting to sweat and she hesitates to open the car door. Unfortunately Veronica isn't that oblivious and notices Heathers stress.
"Hey, you okay?" Veronica rest her hand gently on top of Heathers, causing the girls face to heat up.
"I'm fine, shut up" She pushes Veronica's hand away, she's horrid when it comes to handling comfort so she forces herself to get out of the car and start walking inside with Veronica trailing behind her.
The music is loud, echoing through your whole body. The room is thick and hot, the tremendous amount of sweaty, drunk teens filling the halls and main rooms. Chandler's stomach continues to squeeze to the point she feels sick and lightheaded, it felt like having a bucket of ice water dunked on her head. Veronica was close on the same line, being her first party she was pretty nervous.
As they walked to where people dropped their coats, the worst people arrived in front of them, the dreaded David and Brad. Chandler couldn't even focus on what they said, thoughts swirling in her head and her organs being squeezed to the max (well what she hoped was the max, the squeezing was extreme). She finally snapped back and tried responding without stuttering.
"Let's party.." She quickly spoke before they noticed she hadn't been paying attention, not wanting to anger David.
As the party goes on, Kurt and Ram rear their stupid drunk little heads and try to dance with them. Chandler is obviously uncomfortable and Veronica notices, feeling extremely jealous that Kurt is dancing with her, btu also how she doesn't even want to dance with him. She wants to step in but Ram has a tight grip on her.
After Kurt and Ram finally fuck off, Veronica can't see Heather at all, seeming to have just vanished. She looks around everywhere, running into McNamara and Duke. They are no help and she can't find the blonde anywhere. Eventually giving up, she sits on the couch, holding her Heather's coat on her lap to make her feel better, sipping away at her drink.
"Come on, David- Sh-Shouldn't we get back to the party?" She attempts to push him, feeling extremely uncomfortable with him so close and in her space, especially when he's forcing his stupid dry as lips onto hers. She rather be next to Veronica...
"We will! I just can't control myself.." He spoke in that stupid, wanna-be flirty voice. She knew what he wanted, saying no would be the worst decision she could make, he always found a way to get what he wanted.
-
Heather stood in front of the bathroom mirror, taking a cup of water and spitting the water in her reflection. She was so upset with herself, feeling gross with what she did, she let that happen, she let that disgusting thing touch her. She wanted to curl under the sink and hide away forever but she knew if she took too long in the bathroom, people would be upset with her so she left the bathroom.
Veronica began messing with a match, trying to see how close she could get her hand to the flame before it hurt. Eventually she got bored of the little game she made for herself and dropped the match in her almost finished drink, to her surprise the alcohol caught on fire. In a panic, she threw the cup out the window and being drunk, she didn't think it would do anything bad.
She kept waiting for Heather, fidgeting with the black coat. Then her worst nightmare happened, Brad came over to her and got uncomfortable close. He was obviously tryna fuck, but she rather do something like that with Heathe- No I can't be thinking that-.. She rightfully so snapped at him but he didn't get the hint, continuing to try hit her up. She snatched her coat from him and walked off, going back to searching for Heather. The alcohol was beginning to fade into sickness, her stomach dropping and feeling oozy. She leaned herself up against a wall, the overpowering nausea causing her to forget that she was looking for Chandler.
Little did she know, Heather wasn't far from her and Brad was snitching of Veronica. But he was blowing it out of proportion, saying Veronica insulted him for no reason. Heather didn't want it to anger David and him blaming her for her friend being 'rude' to Brad so she approached Veronica.
"What's your damage?? Brad says you're being a real cooze"
"Heather I'm feeling really sick so can we please jam now.."
"No! Hell no!!" She snapped before Veronica couldn't hold it in and she vomited on the floor, some getting on Heathers shoes. Embarrassed, she ran out of the party, trying not to stumble from her tipsiness.
Heather followed after her and an argument began.
"You stupid fuck" She spat.
"You goddamn bitch"
"You were nothing before you met me, you were playing barbies with Betty Finn!! You were a blue bird, you were a girl scout cookie. I got you into a Remington Party!! What's my thanks? It's on a hallway carpet!! I got paid in PUKE!!" Heather ranted in a drunk fit.
"Lick it up, baby! Lick. It. Up." Veronica remarked with a smirk, leaving Heather a little stunned. Heather didn't respond and just grunted and made her way to her car, Veronica following after.
"Where are you going??" She tried catching up and opening the car door but Heather had locked the doors.
"I'm going home to get cleaned" She growled.
"You're my ride! You can't leave me here!!"
She was mad but she couldn't stay mad at her, her messy hair was extremely-.. no stop thinking that! She unlocked the car and Veronica stumbled over to the passenger seat. She started the car and began driving.
Chapter 1 ~ Would you fight for me..?
In the cafeteria of Westerburg High School, Veronica sat with the Heathers, the Mythic Bitch of the three on one of her super long ass rants. After being friends with them for 2 weeks, she'd gotten used to the girl in reds pages and pages worth of rants. Veronica was eating her sandwich until a familiar hand slapped onto the table in front of her, she looked up and it was none other than Kurt Kelly with Ram Sweeney standing beside him. That stupid grin on his face IMMEDIATELY told the girl in blue of his intentions.
"Heyyyyy 'Ronica, Heather, Heather and Heather. What are you loooveelyy ladies doing this fine lunch hour?" Kurt said in a awful attempt at flirting tone.
"Eating, what does it look like!?" Heather Chandler spat, her icy steel blue eyes piercing through the jocks brown eyes, but he didn't take the hint.
"Easy there, baby. Why are you using your little harsh eyes on me?" Kurt tried at his horrible flirty tone again. "My buddy Kurt just asked you a question, babe." Ram touched Heather's hair and she completely flipped.
Veronica didn't see it all too well, but quickly realized what happened as she heard Ram yelp and fall to the floor, a mix of red and slight purple quickly washing over his cheek.
"Holy shit!" Heather Duke and Heather McNamara blurted out.
-
Why when you see others fight, Does it look so horrible yet feel so right? I shouldn't watch this crap, that's not who I am. But with this Heather Chandler... Dayumn.. ........ But everyone sees her that way, right?
Hey, miss Demon Queen, so what is this feeling? But would you fight for me And hey, could you face the crowd Could you be seen with me and still act proud.. ..... Hey, could you hold my hand .....In a platonic way.. Well, whoa, you can punch real good You're a lot stronger than I thought you were.. "Holy shit"
