just wanted you to know that i am absolutely in love with your lokius fics….have read them countless times. you totally get their dynamic and it’s so so good.

a random scenario for you:

i know both of your fics entail Loki seeking Mobius out or each seeking the other out, in order to get what they need, but I’d love to hear about what you think of Loki isolating himself when he gets to the point of needing Mobius and his gentle guidance, his quiet but firm voice, etc.

would Mobius sense that something was wrong, in this case? or happen to stumble upon Loki in such a worked up and lost state that he has no choice but to act quickly? many thoughts, head empty.

anyway your takes on these two are always amazing and i’m always floored. all kudos to you ❤️

I’m not gonna lie anon, when I first got this ask I was wine drunk at 2am and I had a little cry about it and then completely forgot to answer, but thank you so so much for the kind words<3

As for the scenario: I truly think Loki has mastered the art of pretending everything is fine throughout his long life, so when he gets to the point of needing Mobius he will instinctively pull away, and pretending nothing is amiss while doing so. He is way too scared of relaying on something that can be taken away, so it will scare him and he will isolate himself, no matter how much it hurts.

Mobius on the other hand, has mastered the art of reading all of Loki’s tells and habits, and will most likely notice straight away. The only thing he won’t understand is why. (and here comes my angsty Mobius hc’s) Mobius really struggles to realize it is him that Loki is afraid of needing and is therefore pulling away. Because Loki is a God, there is no way he feels that way for a lousy, ordinary analyst, right? So I think he will notice, but fail to figure out quite what the problem is before Loki completely breaks and Mobius has to find him and take care of him and that’s when it all makes sense.

And while it didn't always turn out the way I hoped-#-being messy and earnestly trying to do something different has been my favourite part of art.#There will always be a lot of room to grow - I don't think art and creativity has a ceiling.#I went from doubting that I was even an artist to joining a gamedev team as the lead artist! #happy world bipolar day to all my bp babies #(more thoughts at the end of the tags)#shameless #shamelessnet #shamelessedit #ian gallagher #cameron monaghan #*macygifs #bipolar disorder #hello pals how are we doin #i made this gif set in july of 2023 and never posted it because 1) i was terrified to share it and potentially see Bad Takes in the tags #and 2) because my hyperfixation was waning. and while both of those things are still mostly true (the fixation comes and goes)#i feel like it's really important to share as ian's bipolar storyline was not only so vital to his character it was a bit of representation #that isn't often given to the disorder and those (like myself) who live with it every single day #world bipolar day is a day where we can both celebrate ourselves and our resilience and also raise awareness of the reality of the disorder #which is both terrifying and beautiful at its core. this disease is not a death sentence or a sentence to an unfulfilled and miserable life #while there are challenges galore when it comes to balancing life with this disorder it IS possible to live a full and productive life #and i think it's really important to have representation of that in media - and while shameless dropped the ball on a LOT of storylines #over the years THIS is the one they really fucking nailed and i am incredibly grateful #i first started watching shameless while in the midst of a major depressive episode and i was later (finally) diagnosed during an extended #hypo/manic episode - this show and ian's storyline got me through so much and made me feel so seen and validated in my struggles #world bipolar day is also vincent van gogh's birthday (happy birthday buddy) who was posthumously diagnosed with bipolar disorder #and who experienced both depressive and hypo/manic episodes during his lifetime (and was regularly institutionalized)#it takes a lot of help and support to keep us going. it takes the support of our family and friends and *most* of all #it takes patience and kindness and understanding - which is so so so easy to give if you are willing to love and listen #so please. be willing. listen to our stories. be patient with us. show us love without conditions. support us in any way you can.#we are worth it #i promise #anyway. that's really all i wanted to say. happy world bipolar day to those who celebrate (me) and may all of us living with this disorder #go on to live happy fulfilling beautiful magical lives

i know this is old news but like. it is so fucking insane to me that convicted felons — who can qualify in every other way, citizens who are absolutely affected by elections and politics — are not allowed to vote in the united states. like that alone is fucking crazy. and fucked up and VERY intentional and on track for the usa. but still genuinely crazy to actually think about.

but worse is that donald mother god damn fucking trump can still run for president and could be elected while being a convicted felon. like. bro can't vote for himself i guess. but this guy could still legally become the fucking president. OFMD is so fucking earnest and that's still my favorite thing about it I think.

So often nowadays, whenever a piece of art dares to be weird, it has to be all quippy and self-referential about it. If you look at any MCU movie it's just full of characters being like "wow that was weird" because they're too scared to let it stand on its own.

And OFMD doesn't bother with any of that shit. Ed sees Stede as a mermaid and it's fucking beautiful. They kiss under the moonlight and hold hands like teenagers and play sweet little thumb wars and it works perfectly because it never tries to dilute it with humor where it doesn't fit. Ed and Stede get to cry and lean on each other for support and be their weird, goofy, cringey selves, and that's never presented as anything other than wonderful and beautiful. OFMD gives us everything with all it's got and it never flinches away from being heartachingly earnest.
