my bias is such that the final season of expanse is really thematically all about drummer and naomi and trying to navigate the impossible space they exist in between oppressors, without having any clear or good path ahead of them, after seasons of being buffeted by situations outside of their control and also they're in love
#which fits because my bias is such that the last books which werent filmed are increasingly about naomi#i mean they ARE but also I'm emotionally mostly affected by her narrative as it all comes together#the expanse#naomi nagata#camina drummer#i am finally at the last episode of s6#rip the last three books werent filmed but such is the way i guess#wouldve loved to have seen how they would have shifted with the changes in the show#esp drummer being such a main focus#the *theyre in love* seems flippant but canonically they love each other

not to be that person but studio bones could and would change the ending of bungou stray dogs if they so desired. how do i know you ask? because that’s what they did with fullmetal alchemist and soul eater.
#the fma manga was being simultaneously released along w the anime and when the author couldn’t keep up w the deadlines#bones veered off and gave the anime a completely different ending#it wasn’t until 2009 that they decided to do a remake of the series to keep it canon w the manga and its ending#not complaining bc fma 03 was one of the greatest things i’ve ever watched but#my biggest fear is that they’ll actually let dazai die and have chuuya destroy everything and die himself#bones loved giving fma 03 the most heart wrenching horrible ending#having edward die in the final battle having the elric brothers separated in different timelines#nothing is too tragic for studio bones. nothing is so inherently implausible that they wouldn’t think of doing it.#i am. i am not prepared for wednesday. this could just be our last episode😭#manifesting stormbringer or smth of that sort i am actually sobbing at bones’s feet#perhaps they’ll animate another light novel and leave the main plot altogether? and then revisit it in s6 (i’m delusional)#bungou stray dogs

My thoughts on these last two episodes:
Though things seems to have gone back to what they were, I believe they are also completely different at the same time.
Because although being a vampire was Guillermo’s dream, I think in the years he’s spent with the vampires, the main reason he wanted to be turned was so he could be considered a valued part of the team
He wanted the vampires to see him like family, to care about him the way he does for them.
And that’s come true, all the vampires care and love and worry for Guillermo now.
They all demonstrated this in their own different ways this season:
from Laszlo actively trying to help Guillermo, showing up at his motel to apologize for not being as helpful (which was actually very sweet of him) to that final scene with Derek
to Nadja taking Guillermo to the vet and protecting him from being harmed
To Colin stopping by the motel to give Guillermo a farewell gift.
They all were worried about him. They all didn’t want him to get killed, that’s why they kept his secret despite knowing how hurt and upset Nandor would be. It’s such a three sixty from the beginning of the series. The found family vibes really made me want to cry in the best way.
(But since I am a huge nandermo shipper I saved my Nandor points for last because I’m gonna dive in DEEP)
I knew that we wouldn’t get a love confession this season, I believe that Guillermo will either be turned into a vampire in a last ditch effort to save his life (hopefully by Nandor)
Or he’ll eventually change his mind and ask Nandor again to be turned and I think if he were to ask again (after everything that’s happened) I think Nandor would do it if he believed Guillermo was sure.
Guillermo did mention to Nandor at the fake ceremony that he really still wanted to be a vampire. (So who knows I wanna keep hope alive)
But overall, I loved this season.
We got a rare peak behind the curtain at Nandor.
He not only deeply cares for Guillermo and can’t imagine losing him but he also knew all along that Guillermo was not ready to be a vampire.
(Remember that scene in s3 where Nandor tells Guillermo that vampirism is a curse? And that he cared too much about him to do that to him?)
The fact that Nandor memorized Guillermo’s letter to him when they first met just speaks volumes about how much he actually loves Guillermo.
Nandor has grown so much this season, it was so refreshing to see. I mean all those self help books really paid off. Cause, not only did he set his own hurt feelings aside and forgave Guillermo despite how important loyalty and honor are to him but
he also didn’t act impulsively when it came to Guillermo transitioning. He let Guillermo experience vampirism and observed his reactions and emotions before stepping in.
(I hope we continue to see more character growth like this and that hopefully in s6 we finally get some romantic plot for these two because fuck I’m in too deep to quit this show/ ship lol)

OK, follow-up to this post about Cameron's apartment's, let's look at Chase's. Because set design is fun!
We never see Chase at home in early seasons: the closest we get is in Human Error, the end of S3, where Cameron is visiting his place. We never actually see inside, and it's not even clear if this is like, his front porch or just the entrance to the building; he's a former rich kid so it could be either, but I assume the latter, because he's a trust fund brat but not own an entire townhouse rich.
The next time we hear anything about it is in The Itch:
CHASE: What time you done? We could try that new sushi place next to my house. CAMERON: Why don't we stay at my house tonight? CHASE: We always stay at mine. CAMERON: That's what I mean. We used to split it. What happened? CHASE: I don't know. Closer to work. CAMERON: By five minutes. And my house doesn't look like it was decorated by a drunk rugby player.
(I am fascinated by this line and all its implications. It is not decorated by a rugby fan but a drunk rugby player. What does that look like besides probably atrocious.)
Sadly, we never see this apartment. The next time we see him at home it is in the last episodes of S5. He appears to have moved in with Cameron; since this apartment doesn't match her old one and isn't plastered in sports posters, she either gutted and redecorated the apartment or, I think more likely, they got a place together (we first see them "at home" once they're already engaged). We first see it in Under My Skin:
And then we get several good looks at it (including the bedroom) in S6:
(the last two photos are a bit awkward but useful for layout: cameron exits the bedroom and is directly opposite the front door, meaning the bedroom is to the right of the hallway arch; meanwhile the front door is behind chase and you can just see the TV to his left, making it the final wall of the living room in the s5 set.)
Finally, at the end of Teamwork, we get a nice view of the living room/kitchen from the windows: it appears the kitchen might have an alcove to the left for a dining set (although when we've seen them eating, it was on the couch — relatable).
Chase stays in this apartment — same layout and architectural details — through S8, although once Cameron moves out he completely redecorates, which is fair. This is also interesting, because it shows he has a completely different style than she does; Cameron's apartments are all decorated the same (beige Pottery Barn-core), but Chase has a more… well, masculine aesthetic, he likes darker colors and more color in general.
We very, very briefly see his apartment in After Hours, when 13 calls him:
It appears Chase is lowkey a nerd: he's reading a book on the Crusades, he has a stack of books on his nightstand, and the top one appears to be a goddamn diary. Incredible.
We next see it in Chase: from the first shot we can see it is the same apartment as before; from the second we see the ensuite connected to the bedroom (and that he's gotten rid of the bookcase that used to be against the wall).
Finally, Park briefly stays with him in Gut Check, and we find out that a) the apartment has at least two bedrooms (and likely two baths, given the en-suite), and b) the redecoration did continue:
(why the hell does he have four TV remotes on his coffee table????) I actually like the orange couches (and the implication that Chase threw out every single one of Cameron's decorative tchotchkes), but it's a different vibe for sure.
Because we actually get so many different looks at the place, it's pretty easy to make a map of the layout; the apartment looks something like this:
This post is so pointless. However, I do not apologize.
#i really like fake and real architecture actually#malpractice posting#robert chase#i guess……………it is a post about him technically

Dragon Prince S6 Thoughts
"Sometimes the line between mercy and cruelty can be thin." Aaravos and Startouch Elves
Well holy shit, that opening really went from wholesome Viren (who is alive) hugging Terry and celebrating Aaravos’ supposed “lie” to OH GOD CLAUDIA KILLED A CHILD. God, it's really terrifying seeing Claudia give so much to save her father...it really hits home how Viren felt responsible for leading her down this route. The tragic thing is that I think Viren knows deep inside that as of now, he can't help her...but he hopes he can inspire her to turn back. Despite everything she did, Claudia's actions to save her father were all for nothing. She lost a leg and her soul (it is yet to be seen if her soul can be brought back) and yet by the time she reached home, her father died yet again...this time for good. Claudia's screams were really chilling and sad.
At least, Terry is always there for Claudia...though I'm worried about what will happen to him given Claudia's increasing mental dive into darkness and insanity. He rightfully points out how revenge is different from love and how it drove Aaravos to the deaths of God who knows.
I really love that Viren didn't choose to reveal what he did to heal Soren. It would've just caused Soren more grief and pain. That's one of the most best things Viren could have done before his sacrifice. He carries on the absolute shame (I felt chills when I heard how he obtained the last part of the spell) that he caused rather than “pass it on” so to say to Soren.
Viren’s true death feels fitting for him. All this time everyone close to him ask if he was willing to risk his life for another. Dark Magic has ruined so many lives and yet also saved so man in some cases. There is a price to be paid. But finally, he proved that he was willing to do that rather than find some other way to pay the price or back out. This time he paid the price and did a truly selfless action where nobody had to get hurt...other than him. He lived his whole life choosing what he felt was pragmatic and selfish with only a few moments of his good self showing...he chose to finally die a servant of his home. While Soren will understandably never forgive him for what he did to him and the world, he will remember him for his last act of unselfish genuine goodness and living up to his desires of atonement rather than going back. I also love how his last words are the last words spoken by Harrow to him.
"I am a servant. I am a...servant." Viren's last words
That entire ship episode is so hilarious with the meta-commentary. The Celestial Elves were a really cool sub-ect of Skywing Elves. I also love the parallels between dealing with Ice Behmeath in the present and the Magma Titan in the past. Instead of killing the beast which left people killed, they found what made it so sad and everyone lives.
Also Callum and Rayla are back together! So happy and I wished we didn't have the break-up personally but still finally.
I now understand the Soren and Corvus ship, and I approve.
I'm so happy that Amaya and Janai finally got married at last. Too bad Karim had to ruin all the vibes temporarily, thankfully, the two were able to salvage it. Amaya and Janai truly deserve the world.
The build-up to when Ezran and Corvus realizes the true plan of Karim is really chilling.
S6 really has me lowkey ship Ezran and Aanya haha. Two badass, wise, and compassionate young rulers who lost their parents...speaking off, I can't imagine seeing Ezran in S7 now that he knows his kingdom is destroyed.
Sol Regem really is responsible for the events of the show. While it is dark how he died and it's horrible how he was responsible for his soulmate's death, I can't say he didn't deserve his death at all. He was the one who laid the seeds for humanity's conflict with elves and utterly despises humanity. He literally choked and burned on his own element.
Katolis being destroyed made me sad since it was our primary setting in the human realm for 6 seasons.
The Startouch Elves gave me so many Collector vibes. Aaravos really is the Ardyn of Dragon Prince with a bit of Collector and I'm all here for it. Now all that is needed is for him to get a stylish hat and turn the sky into an eternal darkness. Also, Aaravos was really that big in his natural mortal form...which made S5's horrifying reveal of what he said make a lot of sense.
A major theme of S6 and the show is how revenge won't get you anywhere but further metaphorically drown yourself. Another major theme is love (platonically and romantically), whether familial, platonic, or romantic.
S6 really is an amazing return to form, and it felt like the quality of the first three seasons was consistent. I cannot wait for the final season of this saga. I did hear about them wanting to make three more books and I wonder how they can go from here...but I trust them to do right based on S6.

Buck & Eddie: 2023 - 2024 Rereleased and Unreleased Photos
A timeline of the photos that were released by JS, JCC & TM since 6B.
After TM (9-1-1 showrunner) recently released two "never before seen pictures" of Buck and Eddie, one as recent as last night, I started thinking about all the photos and videos that have been released of them since the start of 6B and it was quite interesting to see it all once I put them together.
Reminder, Buck and Eddie were barely shown to be work partners let alone friends for 98% of 6A and after 6x13 aired, they were shown to be living separate lives again for the remainder of 6B after Eddie was forced into dating again even though he said he wasn't ready. Aside from the Buckley-Diaz Family scene in 6x1 and the small amount of time they shared at the end of 6x7 and the time they were partnered in 6x13 (my favorite episode which was the finale for me since the last 5 episodes could have been yeeted to the sun); they didn't work side-by-side like they did before Eddie quit the 118 in 5x10. That's why the timing of the rereleased and unreleased photos and video is so jarring.
First, in April 2023, JS released the picture below of Buck and Eddie at the poker game before 6x13 aired and he spent most of that three-week mini hiatus counting down to the day when he was going to reveal it on Twitter or X or whatever it's called this week.
Second, in April 2023, a photo of the clapperboard was released weeks in advance for 6x17 which was an episode JCC directed. It includes a picture of Buck and Eddie at the bottom of it.
Third, also in April 2023, after 6x15 aired, several posts alluded to Twitter users being in an uproar about the introduction of ND and how Buck hurt Eddie’s feelings with that BS line about her seeing him (which everyone but Buck knows was a bunch of BS).
Don't try to debate me on this because Buck’s words hurt Eddie and it doesn't matter if they were intentional or not. He broke Eddie’s heart with that $hit so... I digress because thinking about it still pisses me off (it's been months but I'm still not over the way S6 ended).
Anyway, it was posted on Reddit (linked here) that JCC posted the photo from season 3 below on 9-1-1's TikTok account but the question is why would he release it since he didn't direct 6x15? The OP of the thread explained how he never posts things about episodes he didn't direct so it was interesting to read this information but since I only saw it on Reddit and nowhere else, it's unclear if there was a motive behind it.
Full disclosure: I don't have a Reddit or TikTok account, so I don't know if this post was legit but the date on it is April 25, 2023.
Fourth, in May 2023, right before 6x18 aired, TM decided to release a video of Buck and Eddie from season 2 but why did he do that? Especially right before that BS episode that had Eddie acting like he was in high school again and giggling over some chick he witnessed almost kiss her brother in the mouth in 6x5 and Buck settling once again for a woman who only wanted to use him for his "Firehose" and nothing else like AC, AM and TK did?
What exactly was the point? Was he trying to tell viewers something or was he just piddling around on FB like he did last year when he responded to a viewer with a long post about the storytelling decisions he greenlit for LS?
Reminder, TM was working on LS for the past two seasons while he left OG in the hands of KR who literally destroyed all of Buck’s character development and growth by regressing him with TK, LD and now ND. Seasons 5 and 6 went into a tailspin of Buck not growing or learning from his mistakes and the responsibility for that lies solely at the showrunner's feet and who was in charge? It was KR.
The way Buck's gazillion storylines ended was not long form storytelling especially since he was constantly being regressed. He said he didn't want to make the same mistakes but he kept making them and instead of letting him go back to therapy (which he clearly needs) she let him flounder and read self-help books and donate his sperm to that loser Connor (reminder Connor wanted to run out on his pregnant wife because the baby wasn't biologically his but I still believe the baby is his and not Buck's). She wouldn't let him talk to the team like he used to do so they could offer him some good advice about the important life decisions he was trying to make but in Season 5 she had no problem letting Buck tell the 118 about his dumpster fire of a relationship with TK.
Fifth, in January 2024, TM was at it again with posts on Facebook (I don't use FB) but this time he posted two unreleased photos of Buck and Eddie. Apparently, he released the one below a few days ago but it was discovered by a blogger who posted it on 911blr. Based on Eddie's appearance, it looks like it may have been from season 5, possibly sometime around 5x16 "May Day" but who knows.
Sixth, last night, the photo below was released by TM and it's never been seen before either. Based on Eddie’s appearance, this picture looks NEW like it might be from Season 7 but who knows with all the unreleased promos and pics from previous seasons that started circulating in S6.
In the photos above, Buck and Eddie are shown in every season except for the most important one... Season 4. The shooting is missing and so is the will reveal. (I don't count the picture on the clapperboard because it appears to be one JCC added to it for whatever reason and it wasn't an official photo or video like the others.)
So, are they still using the shooting and the will as the catalyst for them becoming a CANON couple? Only they know what they're doing but whatever it is the question has become why are they doing all these cryptic Buck and Eddie posts and releasing photos of just the two of them? What are they trying to say, if anything?
Hopefully it's not so they can do a repeat of the things they did at the end of seasons 4 and 6 and delay them getting together yet again.
If they're going to finally let them be together then it's time to stop with the delay tactics and get rid of all those one-dimensional LIs. Leave N and M in season 6 where they first appeared and should have remained.
If they aren't planning to make Buck and Eddie CANON then they should let them stay single. It's been 6 years; how long do they realistically believe viewers who actually care about them as characters are going to keep waiting? In the past, actors and actresses have left shows around the fifth, sixth and seventh seasons so hopefully that won't happen on 9-1-1 but nobody has time to wait around for 15 seasons for Buck and Eddie to get together.

My top 5 of things I hope next ML seasons will explore
(In no particular order)
The Guardian Staff
Remember Furious Fu episode? I know people don't like Su Han but he did brought up a detail : Ladybug never received her Guardian Staff when she was made Guardian by Fu. It might not have been a necessary element for S4 and S5 thus why it wasn't on the burner, but that doesn't mean it has been forgotten. Just reserved for later.
(And yes, I am still hopeful that the Guardian Staff is destined to Chat Noir one way or another).
The New Permanent Holders
As we know, at the end of the S5 finale, Marinette distributed all the Miraculous among her peers who are now in charge of protecting their respective Miraculous and Kwami. However, while Ladybug has the most experience as an Holder alongside Chat Noir and has the knowledge of the Guardian, she is still fairly "new" in leading such a large group of people at the same time.
It was one thing when it was just her and Chat or when it was necessary for her to distribute the Miraculous herself for one mission at the time.
Now, we still have 15+ permanent Holders whose job isn't necessary well defined and who can potentially intervene all the time. (That includes Chat Noir but I will talk more in details in a separate point).
And Ladybug might have learned a lesson during Penalteam, but mastering being a leader to an entire team of several people is a whole other league.
For some, their role is already pretty clear. Argos will probably only involved himself if the conflict concerns Sentis matters. Bunnyx will be called upon only as a last resort. Rena Rouge has experience of being a permanent Holder and with Carapace, they are the most experienced Holders after LB and CN, I could see them take over some patrols or being delegated tasks or even a small team for side-missions. But even for them as well as all the other classmates Holders, this bring up the question will they be always there and if not, when and why they wouldn't show up?
I don't expect everyone to appear for every Akuma Battle, and I don't expect the show to do that either unless for the season finale, yet I still want to know the reasons why those new permanent Holders aren't helping. That is the challenge with suddenly getting such a large team.
So, I'm guessing a part of S6-S7 and S8 will have the Miraculous Holders figure who they want to be as individual and superheroes, further exploring what are their respective cause and value. To them, and to us. They did bring something like that with the new school model that will take place with the start of S6. So, I can see those two elements align narratively. Even with our main characters.
And just like Alya's values clashed with Marinette's during Rocketear, I am expecting that all those new heroes to each bring their own spice in challenging Ladybug in her perspective, opinions and bias.
Chat Noir's Fears
For real, Plagg, what if I ended up destroying everything around me? Without even meaning to. -- Adrien, in the Paris Special
Simple question, but how do you make a very powerful character not overpowered? One way is by adding a limitation in using their power. Be it physical... or psychological.
Superman restrains himself because he doesn't want to hurt people, including villains. Batman and his bat family don't kill. Same could applied to our heroes.
It is great that Ladybug and Chat Noir can use their power without having to transform back now. But unlocking the ability to use consecutively their superpower doesn't mean that the job becomes easier. In a way, it becomes harder. Especially for Adrien.
Due to the nature of his power, Adrien as Chat Noir has to have self-control, but during S5, his arc involved him starting to fear to lose control over his power.
Of course, I am not expecting the tone to become angsty. As a civilian, Adrien has now a more stable life. He will find new hobbies. He will explore and learn more about who he is and who he wants to be. Find out what he likes.
But Adrien also has the tendency to put a mask on and conceal things up in order to not bother others with his problems. But if he is ignoring or even repressing his fear of his own power and not getting help, that might bite him in the rear later on. The message from the broadcast in the last scene of S5 is very telling on what will be carried on next seasons: "If we don't listen to what our fears, sadness or anger are trying to tell us--". And that message was cut short. (More on that in the next point).
But more importantly, Chat Noir's absence during the battle against Monarch imo will affect him. It might turn him into overcompensating either out of guilt or because he was angry at his own powerlessness or both.
If he had been there, maybe Monarch wouldn't have been able to make the Wish.
If he had been there, maybe the Butterfly wouldn't have been lost.
If he had been there, maybe his father would still be alive (btw I'm expecting a lot of conflicting emotions about that last one).
If he hadn't been that powerlessness against his father, maybe the whole ordeal could've been avoided.
Basically, I expect Chat Noir to involve himself a lot more, finding distractions and outlets, while limiting how he uses his Cataclysm, unless triggered.
The Ladynoir Conflict
Let's be clear, Ladybug did take accountability for the way she treated Chat Noir during S4 and recognized it was a mistake to have rejected his help over and over before finally accepting his helping hand and rely on him for the course of S5.
And Chat Noir stayed and stood by her side against adversity (and also because he feels part responsible for what had happened to the Miraculous as well).
Until the S5 last battle against Monarch due to outside circumstances, that is.
Still, S5 ended where it started : on top of the Trocadero.
Visually, the parenthesis on the Monarch chapter is closed. It is now daylight instead of nighttime. The dark days are over. The Miraculous are back with the heroes instead of being in possession of the villain. Yet some things that has been put on hold for the greater good might resurface again.
As stated in the previous part, Maribug will continue to develop and refined her skills as a leader as well as what kind of leader she wants to be. She may now rely on Chat to second her (at least, I hope she does), but because she is the Guardian, she may again take again too much on her shoulders that what she could bear or have her mind too wrap-up in her own problems and duties, that she may forget to pay attention to her partner.
Judging how Adrien talked when he is forced to go to London, how he is blaming himself or underserving of Marinette's love (which is a parallel with how his father's blame himself for Émilie), his self-esteem is still not at the best level (thanks Gabriel). So there is still a lot of work to do and now, he technically has the safe space to do so.
However, add the fact he wasn't there to fight Monarch and that he believed his father died during that fight and you have some ingredients to cook with him next seasons.
I don't know if I'll ever manage to be like him.
The more I hear the line, the more I cannot help chase away this ominous feeling : what if he is saying "I don't know if I'll ever manage to be a hero like him".
As Chat Noir, over the 5 seasons, he had a bit to much the tendency to sacrifice himself for Ladybug. For him, this is a selfless and heroic act.
Even if Marinette tells to Adrien to focus on who he is instead, I'm theorizing that Adrichat thinks that being himself is not enough.
Adrien might be physically free from his father, but that doesn't mean that he is yet free from his father's ghost haunting him (in the narrative sense).
Adrichat did grow, both as a civilian and as superhero during S4 and S5, but Adrien still has to find out who is he and who he wants to be. Him questioning his purpose in a team has been brought during episodes such as Gamer (S1) and Kuro Neko (S4).
And when he stopped modeling, just look at the state of his room during this brief Jubilation scene :
(Side note, but they sure love depicting Adrien playing video games when his sense of self and worth is low).
And Adrien will probably holds to what bring him joy (Marinette) and might focus on that for a while. But he cannot avoid the underlying negative emotions he has nor hide them forever.
So how is that having anything to do with the LadyNoir conflict?
Well, I bring you back to the last scene S5 in Marinette's room again. Like I have mentionned in the previous point, the broadcast about what our emotions are telling us has been cut short. But another detail was that Marinette wasn't watching it. She was doing something else instead, not paying any attention to it, making it more a background noise.
Meaning that next seasons, Maribug will again be too focused on the problem she has to deal with (the new Butterfly Holder), that she will probably not notice again what is actually going on with her partner until it is too late. Like Kuro Neko. Or like with Kagami during Perfection.
Basically, the Ladynoir conflict is continuing and is evolving. On the surface level, things have been patched and new cracks and hiccups will also gets fixed, but the core of the issue remain and will continue to grow. That is my feeling.
The Secret™
S4 also involved a lot of secrets impacting Ladybug and Chat Noir's team which put their team at risk and got exposed one way or another. And now, for S6, Ladybug is still covering another secret. A bigger one. This time to a whole lot of people. She is keeping a secret to the whole city, to most of the team which I think might also include Chat Noir (London Special, I beg of you, GIMME ANSWERS), but also, more importantly, to Adrien, covering the truth to him out of all people.
We know that Alya, Su-Han and maybe Alix (we'll have more clear answer with the upcoming Special London) know that a Wish was made, but when I look at the ending scene of S5, in Marinette's room, I cannot help but think she wasn't telling the whole story. This is why I have my eyes on the Special.
Notice the pause she took after Su-Han asked her the question about the Butterfly Miraculous whereabouts? Notice how we cannot see her face nor that she is not looking at either Alya or Su-Han.
Did she really told them everything that has happened during that last battle to them or is she covering something to them too?
And the secret was one element of miscommunication and divide between Ladybug and Chat Noir during S4 (though the main factor was Ladybug refusing Chat Noir's help nor letting him assist her).
But with this new secret (or should I say secrets?), what will be the consequences this time? Will the new Butterfly Holder manage to use it to her advantage? What will be the impacts on Ladybug, Chat Noir and their team? How will the world react if the truth comes to light to them?
Honestly, I am not expecting anything out of S6. The upcoming special might explain some decisions before the season slowly sets the table with the ingredients simmering in the background (that is what the show writers love doing).
But I will bide my time. This secret is too huge. Something is bound to happen with it. And whether Ladybug knows it or not, she isn't the one in control and cannot protect Adrien forever.

5. FIRST DATE being an episode that screamed LOVE (so the entire episode but also the last convo, ’’i am not ready for you to not be here’’ and glances)
BONUS IN CAPITAL LETTERS: tell me you love me (i love you, you know i do) tell me you want me (i always want you) scene (no when i am telling you i was down bad for this moment i was truly down bad) ++++ ’’If you try anything again he’ll kill you…and more importantly i’ll let him’’, Buffy finally saying that 3 words 8 letter aka I LOVE YOU (and no matter what Spike said, it’s confirmed he knew she meant it) I was a broken mess (you know how hard it was putting this outside of top 5, but the buffy saving spike scene was so ahhhhh<33333</333333)
EXTRA bonus: the bday episode in s6, buffy breaking down in front of tara talking about her feelings regarding spike, buffy dreaming of spike and her being in her bed after the trio made her think she had killed someone, buffy defending spike to giles, ’’he is in my heart’’, ’’clearly you don’t cause that whole having my pride thing was just a smoke-screen’’ ’’oh thank god’’ ’’i don’t know what i would’ve done if you had gone up those stairs’’ *caresses cheek*, when spike wakes up from his dream and asks buffy if something is wrong after she’s done talking with the first disguising as herself (idk it seemed so domestic to me, also the way he said her name), THE FADE OUT MOMENT IN CHOSEN, when the evil is controlling spike and normal spike is talking to buffy and being like i could never forget you and it’s still all about you and i didn’t go to hell to retrieve my soul and back only to hurt people again and how he can’t live with himself for hurting buffy
#mine#spuffy#buffy#i might forget something but i covered a whole bunch of them#also all the petnames spike has for her :(

What did they say about Gabriel in the interview? (Also is this different from the episode commentary?)
(I am talking about the commentary - specifically the final two episodes. I just refer to it as an interview because that's how I saw it. Here's the link of the translation if you want to read it yourself - https://www.tumblr.com/little-mari-on-a-roof/732920291246882816/along-with-finally-airing-the-season-5-finale)
Spoilers (and salt below)! Readers beware and all that!
Apparently - Gabriel is supposed to be seen as a hero at the end of the day. His backstabbing Maribug and getting the wish are him "Finally mourning Emilie and giving up power out of love for his son" according to the writers since he and Marinette "have the same wish for Adrien to be happy" 🤦♀️ (Oh but it's fine since it's "still Marinette's victory" despite losing to her main villain since she got him to "lay down his weapons" (which she absolutely didn't but whatever)). Also, apparently the woman in the last episode next to Nathalie is Amelie, which also means Gabriel didn't use it to revive Emelie and "chose to die with her since he couldn't live without her", which means we spent 5 seasons watching him tormenting all of Paris and his own son for nothing. Gabriel won for no reason other than a twist no one wanted (except the writing team). Nothing actually mattered in the end! Ain't that just something!
Oh and bonus - Adrien not being part of the final fight was planned from the very beginning (The writers really wanted the Bugnoire VS Monarch fight, so they had to get rid of Chat instead of...anything besides that), so there was never going to be a confrontation between Adrien and his dad. And the writers said that they "already discussed/covered what they wanted to" with Gabriel in Season 5, so no Adrien finding out the truth or any sort of backlash/consequence to the main villain wining and rewriting all of reality to fit his personal whims. We're just moving on to Lilamoth and whatever circus they're going to pull out for S6!
Doesn't this make you feel like you dedication to the series was properly rewarded! Don't you just feel all sorts of narrative satisfied and fulfilled!

Okay, so, I don't know if I'm typing this out to make myself feel better because I can't believe THIS is the thing I'm gonna be right about in this fucking show BUT back in May last year, I added some tags on a post about how Buck is in Eddie's season 5 arc, so he would break up with Natalia pretty early on and Eddie and Marisol would go off to build stuff together (It's the only post I can find that proves I had the thought before all this because I don't know if I put that in a meta or not, I think I did on a post talking about how Buck and Eddie mirror each other narratively, but I cannot find it) but the thing is, season 6 for Buck mirrors season 4 for Eddie, which would put them in season 5 but from Buck's side. It was the main reason I kept saying I believed Natalia would have the same treatment as Ana, and go away early on in the season to open space for Eddie's journey of self-discovery, which is what happened, Natalia went away to open space for Buck's self-discovery journey. I was betting on a Buck breakdown, but bi Buck works. Why did I had that thought the second Eddie called Marisol in the s6 finale? Well, Buck and Eddie are literally running parallel to each other but slightly misaligned. You have tiny things like the way the first loss on the job for both of them is someone falling to their death, but Devon didn't want to live and the gross dude did. Or the shaky relationship with their parents that runs opposite because Eddie had too much responsibility placed on him while Buck was literally treated like he was invisible. Or more aggressive things like the way the well mirrors the lightning (set on that if you need help visualizing), with the way both of them volunteer into the rescue, the well is in the middle of nowhere, Buck gets struck in the middle of the street, Buck is in the sky, Eddie is underground, the rain aspect, the 118 as audience, they are even on mirrored sides of the frame, and I think even the way Buck needs to choose to get out of the coma mirrors the way Eddie saves himself. There's also the breathing things since Eddie almost drowns and Buck's lungs stop working. The well mirroring the lighting put Buck in season 4 for 6b, the "'I'm fine' *narrator voice* he wasn't fine" era, which would put Buck in season 5 now, the "I'm dealing with what makes me who I am" era, which he is, go Buck.
Well, this works with love interests on a ridiculous level. We have the ABSOLUTE MADNESS of the way Shannon comes back, next episode Ali shows up, Shannon dies, next episode Ali is gone, Eddie meets Ana, Buck keeps complaining about the struggles of being single (while Maddie totally sets him up with Josh, because now that Buck is canonically bi, the fact that they are in blue and green is too on the nose for me to ignore), nothing comes of Eddie and Ana, they both stay single, Eddie asks Ana out, next episode Buck is dating and Taylor comes Back, Buck starts dating Natalia, Eddie starts dating Marisol. The only ones who are not aligned are the breakups with Ana and Taylor, because Buck chooses to hang on for too long. We also the way they have the first love who left them and never really gave them the closure they needed, we have the inconsequential girlfriend they only got because people kept telling them they had to move on. Shannon works for Eddie the same way Abby works for Buck. Ana works for Eddie the same way Ali and I guess Natalia do for Buck. That means Eddie needs a Taylor. Someone he meets on a call who comes back later on. Check. Someone he's supposed to work with in theory but never had a real fighting chance. (I say that because if Taylor were as intense about Buck as she is about the job, they could've been a very interesting installment of golden retriever boyfriend/black cat girlfriend, but they never try). Something about their personal journeys is that Buck tends to take longer to learn, while Eddie tends to need a stronger hit. Buck's takes more time and Eddie's tends to be more intense in a sense. Like the way Shannon dies and Abby just leaves, but they actually kinda paint Buck as hung up on Abby all through seasons 2 and 3. Or the way Taylor goes away for a whole season, just to come back and stay for 3 half seasons. So the Marisol of it all. Taylor had more dept in the helicopter than Marisol has right now, but sure, let's say the point here is to make Eddie do something stupid in the name of not being alone. Because that's what Taylor is. The whole time, Taylor is about Buck being scared of being alone, even hooking up with her the first time is about how he didn't have Abby to hang on to anymore. Taylor and Buck are also fundamentally incompatible.
Again, I know nothing about Marisol. They gave her no dept beyond being a glorified babysitter. Nothing in her relationship with Eddie so far has been about Eddie and her. Even their dates seem to be something that will be about watching other people. I don't wanna say buddie canon, because Lucy is her own category (I miss her) but, Eddie looking at Buck and Tommy and making the very harsh decision of asking her to move in "I'm gonna die alone" moment, I don't wanna say makes sense, but could work, even more considering that the Buck/Tommy/Eddie/Marisol date seems to be mirroring the colors of the Buckley-Diaz family + Taylor dinner in outside looking in, and the next episode is a madney episode. It's the same progression of events. I doubt Eddie is gonna cheat and panic ask Marisol to move in, but they are not so on the nose with the actual storyline parallels. I don't have the brainpower to come up with any theories about what he might do, but considering how rocky his relationship with Buck could be, considering the last episode, I can absolutely see Buck triggering that (that would make me accept I am right and Eddie is aware of his feelings and I won't give that up even if the show explicitly says he wasn't) because Eddie's abandonment issues make him overcorrect. And that's never a good thing. Do I think Marisol is going past the season finale? No. Eddie's understanding arcs are usually shorter than Buck's. How would she leave? No clue. The fact that Taylor hurt Buck's family, in a literal sense with Chim, and the focus on her relationship with Chris as someone taking care of him, also the ominous shots of Chris and the whole theory that Chris would get hurt last season makes me scared tho. It could be something that's not her fault that she doesn't reach Eddie instantly, like, Chris cuts himself or something and she doesn't call, that can even work to push Buck and Eddie closer, and put buddie explicitly in a parental role together. My brain keeps saying appendicitis for some reason, but no idea why, maybe I just don't want to believe the show would make someone purposefully endanger Chris. Eddie kind of snapping in a hospital makes sense? Let's say Chris gets sick while at school and someone calls the house trying to reach Eddie because he's not answering and he chews her off. But that's just like, the only thing I can come up with with the correct energy.
So, yeah, Marisol is Taylor. I'm too tired to keep typing, but I can't believe the one theory I don't fully type out is the one the universe is gonna give me oaksoaksoaksoaksokasa
If you read this I love you. I don't know how this made you feel, but I hope it makes sense.

I loved the battle of the dumpster, enjoyed every second, every frame, cried from the second it started. I am so, so lucky to have seen it on the big screen, what a pleasure.
having said that, we can all agree our perfect haikyuu ending would've not been movies (obviously).
perfection for me would've been the following:
(spoiler warning for the manga)
season 5 would've been like S3: shorter in length but completely dedicated to the match.
nekoma would've been given the shiratorizawa treatment with 10 episodes dedicated to only the match so that nothing from the manga (or at least very little) was cut.
fukorodani's match would've been an ova, I love them so much and would love to see their match animated, just don't see how they could've done it within a season and not cut most of it.
s6 would've been like S4: split into 2 parts but opposite now.
instead of pt1 being chill and all about growth (camp and japan youth) and pt2 the match (inarizaki), S6 wouldve been pt1 the match (kamomedai) and pt2 chill and growth (graduation and time skip, focusing mainly on hinata in brasil).
finally, after those two beautiful seasons and ova we would get to the main event, the culmination (or first of many) of all their hard work: a movie in cinemas lasting no less than 2hrs for the entire black jackals v adlers match, seen on a big screen as the universe intended it.
bonus points: the credits roll and there's a post credits scene, and we see all our faves getting ready in front of their tvs and then we cut to a court and we see hinata, kageyama, atsumu, kiyoomi, bokuto, wakatoshi, hoshiumi, kiryu, yaku, aran, motoya, suna and iwaizumi and kuroo with their official uniforms for the japan national team entering the olympic court and opposite them the argentinian team with oikawa among them.
that's my dream
#i had to share#my dream haikyuu ending#haikyuu#i will become a millionaire one day and produce all of this#hq#haikyuu anime#haikyuu manga#haikyu movie#haikyuu msby#msby black jackal#haikyuu adlers#schweiden adlers

e https://impalementation.tumblr.com/post/188475654600/if-youre-still-taking-asks-you-mentioned-you-had hi, if you mind reading i link this to you
Okay, so I'm finally responding to this ask lol. Sorry for the wait.
I understand what this person is saying and I'm not going to go into every point because that's their interpretation. There's nothing to be discussed in how someone chooses to see symbolism because that's abstract and subjective.
What I am going to address is this:
"the point of seeing red is that buffy is capable of growing past that instability, is capable of saying no and meaning it"
Buffy had already been saying no before Seeing Red. She had been saying "no" from the beginning but even if we want to argue that the consent was left "ambiguous" in most of their encounters, Buffy had already reached that moment in her arc that OP mentions before Seeing Red. Buffy ends her "relationship" with spike several episodes earlier in As You Were.
Spike was the one who, as usually, wouldn't quit, wouldn't leave her alove. He insisted with her and bitched about it in the subsequent episodes, he even hooks up with Anya after she's left at the altar by Xander in a very deliberate "rebound" move from both of them where they're both kinda like "fuck our exes". So yeah I think he understood what Buffy meant and, most importantly, Buffy had already moved past that "uncertainity" and instability phase, she was making her decisions and sticking with them. It was Spike the one who couldn't/wouldn't accept what she decided. Who would follow her around and try to pressure her into budging, trying to make her doubt herself again. He was the one who pushed the situation to get to the point it got in Seeing Red, it had already ended as far as Buffy was concerned.
"with that in mind, i see buffy loving spike by the last episode actually as a matter of her loving herself [...] i see buffy’s advocacy re: spike throughout s7 as a direct, deliberate reversal of how she treated him in s6. just as she was determined to see him (read: herself) as a thing in s6, she is determined to see spike in s7 as deserving of forgiveness, as not a thing."
Like I said, I won't discuss whether this person is right or wrong for seeing spike as "the id" of the show (I think you could argue that for all vampires in the show, spike is just the one who stays the longest but his behaviour is not any different from any other soulless vampire when it comes to the common traits usually pointed out but anyway). So yeah I won't discuss whether that's right or wrong because that's their interpretation.
Because of that, I can understand why someone who sees Spike as the representation of Buffy's repressed id (something that could also be argued about Faith, which to me holds a bit more water since she's also a slayer) would say that her treatment of Spike in S6 and S7 mirrors how she sees herself. I can understand why someone would think that if that's how they see Spike's role in the show.
The issue with this interpretation and the subsequent defense of S7 is that it engages in abuse apologism because of the way that it whitewashes Spike's actions to merely being a reflection of Buffy's feelings. Similarly to the point made about the ambiguous consent of their relationship earlier, it places a responsibility on Buffy's shoulders for failings that are entirely Spike's. Buffy being depressed and feeling shitty about herself does not grant permission for another person (monster or not) to abuse her. It does not give permission for another person to take advantage of her vulnerable state. And that is true to any person, whether they're a superhero like Buffy or not. Someone being in a really low point of their life, struggling with their self-worth is not an open invitation for others to take advantage and it's not their fault if someone does it.
I understand that Buffy might have felt like she needed to forgive herself for how she acted in S6 but the truth is that she didn't do anything wrong. By choosing this line of defense of how S7 handled the lack of acknowledgement of the abuse in S6, you're implying that Buffy did something wrong that she needed to forgive herself for. And she didn't. Buffy could have an arc about "forgiving herself" without the show brushing off what happened, without leaving what happened between them in this ambiguous place where no one was at fault and because of that implying that both of them were. Because they weren't equally at fault. Even worse, this interpretation heavily suggests that what happened was actually entirely Buffy's fault - if only she wasn't so repressed, if only she was more at peace with her id, she wouldn't have fallen in a self-destructive path that would lead to "monsters" like Spike, who just don't know any better, taking advantage of her and hurting her.

okay. mourning s1-s4 tim minear anon here. just finished my season 3 rewatch and ohhhhh boy oh boy. honestly I could write so much about that finale alone because s6 and s7 have made me forget what a good finale can be (athough I will say that the s3 finale has me thinking a wholeeee bunch of insane things about the s7 finale like buddie things and how the writing choices are were insane (complementary) that I will not elaborate on here because Im already rambling too much about how good s3 is). but genuinely all the character arcs were SO GOOD this season its insane. athena (hate the copaganda here but the general emotional journey with athena and athena/may): establishing what being a cop means to her -> showing that not even the murder of her fiance could sway her from policing and finally arresting the man that did it -> experiencing something traumatic first hand that makes her question her ability to do the job again. and then may: hating what her mom does, going as far as to write her college essay about it, then insisting on taking the pictures with her mom for prom despite her injuries from policing/not being ashamed of her. and also appreciating it to the point of also wanting to help people but as an acab truther pursuing a different way of doing it (911 operator. also imagine they made may a cop thank god that didnt happen lmao). michaels feeling of loneliness and isolation leading up to his diagnosis, then ending the season by meeting his endgame and knowing he gets to live. buck starting the season being insecure about losing his place with the 118 and being the person left behind again and ending the season confronting the last person who left him + feeling secure in his relationships with the 118. bobby's refusal to let buck do anything at the beginning of the season due to his injury + general recklessness vs doing buck's suggested rescue to save both victims. both the henren IVF/fostering arc AND the hen arc were great and thank god because the henren of it all was seriously lacking before this season. but hitting the girl with the ambulance -> reconnecting with her first rescue -> introducing her issues with Drs and their ability to listen and help patients to their full ability -> pursuing med school SO GOOD. and remember when madney used to get character arcs UGHH soooo good. developing chim + his mom/albert/his dad more. having maddie actually confront what happened with doug via therapy (btw maddie stalker plot good example of how to do an insane storyline well!!). this leading into the love confession and also the conclusion/start to the pregnancy arc they set up in !!! episode 1 !!! them not just dropping the josh arc completely after the heist trauma he suffered and seeing it through to a satisfying conclusion. and like I do have one nitpick in hindsight like the eddie arc was so good up until he got caught in the fighting ring and he cried about the divorce and then it was just never brought up again in favour of doing the mini chris stories in 3x10/3x12/3x15. like you literally had a chance to address and conclude eddie's mourning shannon arc in eddie begins or the episodes surrounding that and just didnt LMAO idk maybe they had plans and it got scrapped for the buck/red/abby arc because connie agreed to come back because really it was the only thing that did not feel concluded relative to literally every other character arc this season. anyways where is this tim. TIM WAKE UP!!! come back and give your characters arcs!!! one thing that is super obvious from rewatching the early seasons is there is still SO MUCH interesting stuff to explore with these characters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am begging please give eddie a story with a satisfactory conclusion please give maddie and chim stories please stop torturing hen and karen via fostering/adoption please conclude a buck plot in satisfactory fashion please have bobby and athena explore his past properly please make ravi a main
ohhhh my god THIS MADE ME MOURN S3 TOO 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 what the fuck COME BACK TIM 😭😭😭😭😭 i want him BACK 😭😭😭😭😭

What is the couch theory? 😅
oh anon, where do i start!!!!! this is possibly my favourite subject of all time so apologies in advance if this gets rambly askdjfh
okay so the couch theory goes all the way back to s5 of 911. at the start of 5B buck asks taylor to move in with him, right? and because she brings all her stuff with her it means they have double of everything, including two couches. so buck gets rid of his and they keep taylor's
however in 5x18 buck and taylor break up so she moves out and, of course, takes her couch with her
when we meet buck again in s6 a few months later he still hasn't found a replacement couch. over family dinner with eddie and christopher, chris makes a joke about it (like father, like son) and buck tells him and eddie that, "he doesn't want to choose the wrong couch again" heavily implying he means he doesn't want to choose the wrong romantic partner again (he also says his last two couches came with girlfriends since ali presumably helped him pick out the first one when he moved into the loft in s2).
the episode ends with buck moving his armchair to the place his couch used to sit and sitting down with a smile on his face, suggesting he's content on his own for now and thus, the couch theory was born:
buck's next couch/romantic partner will be the Right one
so we go through the whole of 6A with no couch developments and no real allusions to it be tHEN in 6B after the lightning strike buck's parents comment on his lack of couch and his mother decides she's going to buy him a couch (which is the adult equivalent of getting him a new bike when he hurts himself but that's a different post)
so margaret buys buck a couch but obviously, it's all wrong. because buck didn't choose it himself. it's not comfortable, he can't relax on it, can't fall asleep on it. and in an episode where buck is feeling smothered by everyone's attempts to check in on him it doesn't offer the comfort he needs so what does he do???
go to eddie's house of course!
and you'll never guess what happens, anon:
buck falls asleep on eddie's couch in about five seconds flat!!!!
to say 911 had me by the throat at that point would be an understatement lmao
bc that means eddie's the couch, right?????? what other implications could there possibly be when buck has been using his couch as a metaphor for a partner and he falls asleep on eddie's couch so quickly, suggesting he feels safe and comfortable there??? i said it that time but it would literally have been less suggestive to have him sleep in eddie's bed than it would've been to have him sleep on the couch at the point skdjhf
(and none of this is even getting into the fact that when buck wakes up eddie is the first person buck is honest with in the episode about how he's feeling after the accident, further cementing the idea of him being buck's safe space)
anyway by the end of s6 kameron gives birth on buck's couch and effectively ruins it meaning it's time for him to get a new couch again. now this is where everything falls to shit and i WILL be bitter about this for the rest of my life lmao but basically because of the fear of cancellation s6 sort of pivots in the last few eps and the finale makes an attempt to give each of the characters a mini happy ending in case it really is the overall series finale. and buck's 'happy ending' was to ask natalia (who he'd recently started dating) to help him pick out a new couch
now my personal opinion?? i Hated that. not even from a buddie perspective, just as someone who is very dedicated to buck's seasons long romantic arc and the couch theory, i thought it was really weak and far less satisfying than if he'd just ended the season single. especially bc the point was buck was supposed to pick the couch himself. but!!! some people are suggesting he still doesn't have a couch in s7 (though it's hard to tell since all the shots we've gotten have been in the kitchen) so i am privately holding onto the hope that the couch theory lives on aksjdfh
TL;DR the couch is eddie. eddie is the couch 🛋️❤️

help whenever mxdzt posts from you popped up on my dash i assumed it was another acronym for like, a webnovel or donghua or something but i only just looked it up and learned it's a cvariety?? anyways please go ahead and pitch it to me/ramble if you want because i am intrigued
THANK YOU FOR ASKING AAAA <3 sobs a little bc mxdzt/明星大侦探 is so niche here but to be honest, i think it is one of my top comfort shows if not The comfort show and i usually feel very alien to the term 'comfort show'. it feels fair to say mxdzt is one tho TT
Concept:
It IS a variety show, you're right. It's like a reality show but mostly a murder-mystery show, initially co-hosted by CCTV presenter Sa Beining and the He Jiong, the He laoshi himself that everyone and their mothers know ...except, for once, they're not there hosting as the top MCs they are. They, and the guests, 85% of which soon became regulars, are playing a murder-mystery game. Each episode, each of the guests embody a character within a story, and a murder (or several) happens, that the players have to solve together. Among them hides the murderer (or several), who is the only player allowed to lie, and whom the other players have to try and vote out at the end. Also among them, one player will be the Detective, who has an extra vote, and has to act as a leader of the good guys.
(Side note: From S4 onwards, there is also a Detective Assistant, who's basically a smart non-celebrity helping to take notes, sometimes having a minor role to move the plot along...In time, the team of Detective Assistants have gotten their own spin-off show called 名侦探学院, because they're a riot (Xiao Pu is my favorite))
It's almost jarring the 1st time you watch it if you know them as celebrities, because the show starts and they're in-character right off the bat. They break in and out of character, sometimes to laugh their heads off, but mostly, they act a role with different levels of seriousness throughout the episode, so it's a very different vibe from regular c-varieties where they're themselves :D At the same time, it's clearly a reality show in which those people are extremely familiar, casual and silly with each other. Players often refer to each other only by their last names in the show for this reason, so that it refers to both player and character.
So yeah, there is 开始推理吧 with Zhou Shen and Liu Yuning, and there is MXDZT, which is its still enduring predecessor. mxdzt is pure murder-mystery without the escape room element. But it does have a lot of times where the guests are really pulled into the story, and events happen in-game, moving the story along. And oh boy, those are intense stories sometimes...
General facts:
Each season has 12 episodes, and there are currently 9 seasons. Most episodes are stand alone, even when verses are recurring, it's fine to watch them out-of-order. S8 is the only exception where it introduced a central character and a story that tied half the season together (TT<3). Another exception is the season starters and finales (eps 1-2 and 11-12 of each season) which tend to be stories in two parts with a deeper mystery behind the setting.
From S1 to S6, Sa Beining and He Jiong were the main hosts, with regulars being the likes of Zhang Ruoyun, Da Zhangwei, Wei Daxun, Bai Jingting, Wang Ou, Yang Rong, Gui Gui, Wei Chen and Liu Haoran. After S6, Sa Beining left due to CCTV not allowing him to work in other channels' shows :( but more regulars returned or joined, like Wu Xin, Qi Wei...An array of people I didn't know much before watching but all grew to love.
The show functions using rounds of group discussions and evidence-searching time, and then final votes, to get to the murderer and reveal the story. Players will not speak about themselves unless triggered by the right evidence, but once evidence is found, they cannot lie about it...unless they're the murderer.
Charm points?
The stories...While S1 was still simple, MXDZT evolved rapidly over time and by S4-S5 became a mammoth of story-telling, creatively exploring a whole range of themes like smiling depression, societal obsession with beauty and its tragedies, toxic masculinity, generational conflicts and reconciliations in families, mob mentality, the danger of cults, and the individuality of thoughts vs collectivity etc etc...in more and more depth, through intricate stories with memorable characters and great delivery and wild plot twists. There are always clever ways in which something will trigger a character story, mixing story and gameplay, and it helps that most of the players are actors: sometimes, they do get invested in their own characters! The range of acting goes from exaggeratedly bad for laughs to heartwrenching and elegantly grave. You thought it was a donghua I was babbling about for that reason in part, bc it's as much variety as it is about stories TT The show reuses its verses sometimes, too, so it's always a pleasure to see the running gags or the expanding lore.
The laughs. As the seasons progress, the show did go from a simple game to building real poignant, and deep stories with a message, some of which have made me cry ;~; BUT all the while being an absolute laugh-riot full of Ace Attorney-style names (pianist called Zhen Huitan? sketchy doctors called You Maobing? a man called He Baodan?) and so many PUNS and jokes and a loving post-prod that is so good at putting the right captions and effects. Not only this, but the show is not afraid of swerving back-and-forth between outright crack and the most touching storyline. Emotional whiplash is a big thing in the show. But when it's funny, god, it's FUNNY. and it is So often funny...
Cast. As mentioned, most of the cast rapidly became regulars. The show requires a lot of IQ, focus, thinking and also relative eloquence, and just a set of skills that isn't for all celebrities tbh. So those who stayed did for a long time, and grew comfortable with each other. I rarely watch a variety in which the cast has so much chemistry and are so chill with each other. They casually ship each other (so many ships), poke fun, develop their inside jokes... He Jiong x Sa Beining alone was the epitome of a self-proclaimed married-and-divorced-and-remarried-and-re-divorced miracle. It's also difficult to explain before watching but it's a very refreshing feeling to watch them slip in and out of character, giving this seamless mix of players being themselves, and also a character within a story and a fictional universe.
Gameplay! You can solve murder too as you watch! You can figure it out along with the players. But if you don't want to, you can just watch and wait for it to unfold! Both are ok!
Freedom to cherry-pick: While 9 seasons can be daunting and the episodes are Long TM, the show also makes it incredibly easy to watch out of order... or just watch the ones that intrigute you.
Episodes Recs:
IF you are a looking for an episode to start with, my rec is always S5E1 and S5E2, called Pianists on The Sea. You can skip the piano competition at the start of Ep1 (it's so incredibly cringe and lasts 10 mins. i love those idiots but it's so cringe). S5E1 is a murder-mystery as we know it taking place on a cruise, but what's wrong with the boat...and then S5E2 is just. oohhhhh my god. so much is wrong with the boat. The reason I pick this one is that it illustrates very well the kind of breadth the show has ;W;
Also, S6E1 and S6E2 Midnight Hotel which packs an absolute PUNCH.
I would recommend watching S6 as a whole, every ep is fun. Same with S8, which punches me in the gut again and again.
I also have my other rec lists here (with some explanation on the premise of eps recced) and here (i believe this was before S8 broke my heart (positive)) if ever helpful.
Voilà, here is my rambling for MXDZT, thank you for giving me the opportunity to babble about it <3 I haven't encompassed everything that makes this show wild and incredible, but it has to be lived. One thing is for sure though:
MXDZT is a show in which anything, and i mean literally anything, can happen.
And it's beautiful <3
#mxdzt#who's the murderer?#difeisheng#replies#i m crying about this show tonight i love it v muchTT#it's very special#he jiong#sa beining#bai jingting#wei daxun#zhang ruoyun#wang ou#da zhangwei#aaaaa what a show!!!!!

Sorry for the rant … But i am SO tired of the bummy fans, everyday we have a fight and everyday it's getting worse. Like ? who are they ? they just appeared like a disease after 7x04. I'm sorry but Tim created a monster and i hope that man will be gone SOON
i know buddie fandom can be really toxic too ( not everyone ) but come on, I think they are WAY more problematics. I'm tired to see their tweets everyday on my TL, i'm tired to see them trash talking journalists and everyone. i'm tired to see their comments on abc post with their '' I don't think eddie is gay and buddie should not happening" " Tevan endgame '' I'm tired to see them insulting Ryan/Eddie while their man is a racist, sexist and fatphobic person
I'M . TIRED .
If that man is still here at the end of the season i'll not have the strenght to go through another round of hell with him around. I really think this season is our last chance to have buddie canon/ gay Eddie and i'm afraid it'll be our biggest win or biggest lose worse than s6 finale and anything we have endured since all these years. It's now or never. And i'm really scared because i don't trust the writers …
Go on anon and rant away. I’m going to trust in the writers until the very last episode ever. Let’s hope for the best of Season 8. I have an inkling something is gonna happen for Buddie and it’ll be amazing.
