“It’s fake” Dazai assures him, sitting with his legs crossed on his unmade bed “Totally, completely, absolutely just a pretend thing” Chuuya just stares at him, digesting it in silence as he slowly blinks at Dazai across from him and hopes some of his discomfort can pass for confusion. He wonders why Dazai sounds so desperate to convey this to him when this shouldn’t be any of Chuuya’s business. But Dazai huffs an annoyed breath at his lack of answer, wrinkling his nose in impatience and the soft sunlight catches in his face just right and he is so beautiful, with his stupid silly pout and Chuuya can’t even hold the denial in place for half a second apparently. So alright, Dazai is in a fake relationship and maybe Chuuya does care.

 Or, that one College AU where all the tropes apply, featuring Dazai’s attempts at communicating that only make things worse and the ensuing chaos

You know I've been drawing Loop as their Siffrin form so much that it's got me thinking. I've read and seen so many fics and artworks of Loop eventually getting back to looking like their old self, but I don't think I've seen any so far of Loop already being a mirror copy of Siffrin. So uh, yoink?

ISAT AU where the game plays out the same way (plot-wise at least) but Loop looks like Siffrin the whole time and while Siffrin is extremely perplexed that there's another him, he's still gotta accept their help because how else are they supposed to escape the loops? Good ol' Loop is here to help, helpful friendly Loop!

Bad Newts: Amphibians are in Serious Trouble

My colleagues and I have just had a paper published in Nature, based on our efforts to assess almost all amphibian species for the IUCN Red Lists. The major takeaway messages:

It is a bad time to be an amphibian

Two fifths of all amphibians are threatened with extinction.

Salamanders are the most threatened group; three fifths of all salamanders are threatened with extinction!

Climate change is a major driver of amphibian declines globally

Habitat loss, especially due to agriculture, is a problem for the vast majority of amphibians

Chytrid pandemics have caused and continue to cause catastrophic declines of both salamanders and frogs

Protected areas and careful management are working as strategies! They are actively improving the outlook of some species

As many as 222 amphibian species may have gone extinct in recent times; of those, 185 are suspected extinct but not yet confirmed.

i, like probably everyone else, assumed that was him signing 3-0-0 with his hands.

but no. he's signing F-0-0.

consider the ASL signs for F vs 3:

so what does F-0-0 mean? well, funny thing about that--you know hexcodes? those 6 digit codes that indicate a specific colour? well, there are also three digit codes as well, where you basically double each number to get the full 6 digit code. wanna guess what #F00 is?

yup, that's pure red babey!!

and, better yet, wanna know what its complementary colour is?
