i haven't had any time to rewatch and formulate anything so we're coasting on vibes only. prepare for word vomit and canon divergences

started working for davenport industries after college, was friends with both brothers. he and douglas had a crush on each other, but never said anything since they were both still in the closet at the time.

then the incident with douglas faking his death happens.

in my version of canon, donald finds the kids after douglas' "funeral" because... idk, i just like it better. hurts more that way.

he doesn't tell adrien about them, but adrien figures out he's hiding something. combined with the grief over douglas (and adrien not believing he's dead, or thinking that donald had something to do with it because the brothers were fighting more just before it happened) they start drifting apart and fighting a lot.

adrien leaves the company at some point after this. i haven't figured out what he's up to in the space between here and the beginning of the show, but he pops back up at some point in the first two seasons (before the reveal that douglas is alive).

he's pissed (and hurt) that donald didn't tell him about abc because for god's sake donald, those are children and if you told me back then i'd at least have made an effort to treat them that way. it calls into question, for him, how much donald really trusted him. if donald ever trusted anybody but himself.

then he also has to find out that he was right -- douglas is alive. oh, yeah, and is also currently a villain. with another kid that is solely intended to help him get the other three back. that's a clusterfuck.

so much of this is just adrien going what the fuck davenport(s)

come season three (which i remember a little more of, yay) he hasn't forgiven either brother much for lying to him, but he can't fault the kids for that so he sticks around. he's sorta like the cool uncle.

he helps douglas sneak leo out of the hospital after his arm's crushed, and helps him work on the bionic arm. it's one of the first real opportunities they have to talk some things out.

rise of the secret soldiers- specific things, because there's a couple things here:

because adrien isn't bionic, he uses a pair of gauntlets he worked on pre-canon as a prototype and kept around. they're designed to absorb energy, so in practice they give him enhanced strength but he reworks them a bit (patterned after leo's bionics) so he can also generate laser spheres through nodes on the palms.

however, they have a limit to how much energy they can absorb before the user's body must take on some of the strain. krane overloads them, severely injuring adrien and putting him in the hospital (instead of donald).

everything else happens similarly to canon -- leo uses energy transference to save adrien, almost dies, the bionic soldiers save leo, etc. because of the gauntlets backfiring adrien now has scarring on his hands and experiences tremors / pain due to the nerve damage.

of course his response to this is i need to invent something better so he completely redesigns the gauntlets during season four / afterwards. the new design allows him to wear them all the time, disguised as simple bracelets when inactive.

other things about him:

not a power, but he can mimic voices. even if the voice is nowhere close to his. it's a disney show i don't care about logic, this is funnier /j. he and bree (since she has it but as an actual power) use it to prank the others by "switching" voices and leo is like "don't ever do that again"

douglas gave him a bracelet. initially adrien no longer wears it / doesn't mention it so douglas thinks he got rid of it, but after they talk during you posted what?! he starts to wear it again.

donald and leo both admit adrien (who is basically if ":) (threat)" was a person) scares them. leo had to clarify that it wasn't a compliment.

douglas, donald and adrien all have a habit of calling each other by their middle names when they're upset with each other / making fun of each other.

adrien's "dre" nickname comes from when he first met the brothers -- donald kept thinking his name was andre and adrien corrected him multiple times until he got it. douglas, however, thought this was hilarious and so the "dre" nickname stuck.

adrien and tasha friendship by virtue of being the mostly sane adults dealing with a davenport's nonsense is so real to me

gay as hell and definitely tells perry she's definitely barking up the wrong tree. and also no she can't have douglas, he was there first

Just read screenshots of the Aaron extra chapter and I have so many thoughts, so here they are:

It's always so funny to me to be reminded of the fact that the animosity between Aaron and Neil is mostly one-sided. Like, Neil finds Aaron frustrating, but all the antagonistic stuff he does to him is ultimately in service of helping him in some way and while he's angry when Aaron provokes him, he otherwise regards him with disinterest and even expresses the desire to see what he's like when he's relaxed and enjoying himself during the party with the Vixens. Meanwhile Aaron just really hates that man.

I really appreciated Nora using this chapter to clear up some of the gripes a lot of the fandom has had with Aaron's character in the past and confirm that Aaron's comments to Nicky have to do with his cousin making graphic and unwanted sexual advances on their teammates, and his accusations towards Neil were from a place of concern for his brother. I also liked that it was pointed out that of course he would have at least some internalized homophobia due to being raised by religious zealots in a conservative area, but is unlearning it due to Nicky.

On a similar note, I'm glad that we were provided the context that Nicky's inappropriate behavior is a defense mechanism to weed out people who might hurt him rather than legitimate advances, because I think the fandom tends to forget that he is also a character with extreme trauma written outside of the "perfect victim" stereotype. His actions aren't okay, but the entire point is that they are the result of what he's had to endure just like every other member of the team

The implication that Andrew specifically signed with the Foxes so Aaron could go to college

Aaron and Andrew have the same nervous habit of picking at loose thread

It causes me physical pain to see Andrew clearly trying to open up to Aaron about his self-harm, but because his way of communicating is less straightforward (he doesn't lie, but he because he stuggles to confront and be open with his emotions, he presents the truth in flowery, vague language) and because the two dont really know or understand each other, Aaron can't fully grasp the implications of what he's saying

On the subject of things that cause me physical pain: baby Aaron telling his mom that he wanted to be a neurosurgeon like the people on TV and her laughing and saying he'd never make anything of himself. Fuck Tilda Minyard, all my homies hate Tilda.

Andrew is so uncomfortable, someone Get Him Out of There.

Going off that and his nervous habits (that Aaron mentions he did often enough to be noticable as a habit premedication), I am highkey wondering if the reason Sober Andrew doesn't talk to anyone outside Neil is because he's just. Socially Awkward.

We get a little bit of insight into Andrew's "misogyny" (I personally think distrusting certain people as a result of extreme personal trauma is a little bit different than just being sexist, in the same way women distrusting men because they're used to being harassed and belittled isn't misandry, but that's up to your personal opinion) and that his distain for Katelyn comes from the fact that he thinks she's stringing Aaron along and will turn out to be awful like his previous girlfriends (there's also a notable implication that Aaron has the same self-destructive tendencies as Andrew, and may be why he went out of his way to get him into college and on the straight-and-narrow) also see that this extends to Bee as well despite their close relationship, with him being so afraid that she'd reject him for being gay that he can't even look at her while talking about Neil, probably made worse by the fact that she's a maternal figure for him, which is where this trauma response originates.

Aaron is the only person on the team who's aware that Andrew hasn't slept with Neil, and the only one to grasp the significance of the fact that they've gotten close to that point already despite Andrew's trauma, outside of Renee

It was overall really interesting to see inside Aaron's head (I actually wouldn't mind a book from his perspective, he has a similar way of thinking to Neil but much more grounded) and to see Andrew through the lense of someone who just views him as Just A Guy

He does these tiny things like brushing the hair out of his face or slightly turning his head when he laughs. You didn’t really realize how pretty he was for a while. Sure, you got nervous just staring at him but now you can’t even look him in the eye.

He blinked for a moment. He was in the middle of drying his hair when you said that. All he could think is “Oh wow?” He noticed that you’ve been staring at him so intensely for the past few days— maybe weeks.

He has that certain look to him. It’s different than Floyd even though they’re identical twins. Maybe he’s not aware how MMMMMMM he is but he has to.

Just the way he looks at you can get you weak on the floor. His eyes… You noticed how his eyes squint ever so slightly when he’s focused. He’s calm under any circumstances yet so amusing in his own way. He’s the type of person you’d want to follow around just for the fun of it. And in his own way… he’s just so damn cute too.

He quickly turned his head to stare at you. He’s not sure what you mean or why. It was so out of the blue. You’ve been stalking him for a while. Of course he knew and allowed it and treated it as if it was normal.

It’s already canon that Idia is very attractive from the character archives book and the ghost marriage event while being complete oblivious. He’s charming in his own way.

It’s hard to believe he’s so oblivious to his good looks. His smile is nerdy yet… attractive. His personality is rough but that’s what makes him so fun. Teasing someone like him is hilarious.

He immediately cranked his head your direction with a baffled expression. He shook his head and let out an irritated squeal.

“Wh-who says stuff like that to somebody’s face?! Online I get it but this is IRL! Why does someone like you even think that?”

He just gets really flustered and ends up rambling about how it doesn’t make sense. But when he looks back on it, it gives him an ego boost for a few minutes and then he’s embarrassed because— it makes him happy that you think of him that way.

Unintentional or not, Silver has been seeing you around a lot. He doesn’t think much of it since you’re in the same school so it’s not anything crazy but when he does see you, you’re always staring at him with this… funny expression.

Did he do something wrong? He tries to wave at you when he can but as soon as he turns his head you run away or start acting like you weren’t the one staring first.

But what were you suppose to do? Whenever you saw him, all your attention was diverted to his gentle yet sharp expression. His resting face was already so deadly, you couldn’t imagine if he were to smile.

Jensen had the kids sit down so you two could share the news with them about your engagement. You were equally excited and nervous. Especially with Arrow. “So guys, you know Y/N and I have been dating for awhile now. I love her and she loves all of us. Earlier today when I picked her up at the hospital I wanted her to know how much I love her and how I never want her to leave us, so I asked her to marry me and she said yes.” 

The kids looked between you and Jensen and then at each other. JJ was the first to speak, “Does that mean she’s going to live with us forever?” Jensen chucked and shook his head yes. 

Arrow looked over at you, “Are you going to be our mommy now?” You took Arrow’s hand and said, “Honey, I will be your step-mom. I am not trying to take your mommy’s place. I love the three of you like you were my own children, but I do not expect you to call me mom. That’s 100% up to you. Daddy and I want you to call me whatever you’re comfortable with. So you can call me Y/N, Mama Y/N, Mama, whatever you decide.” Arrow nodded, “Can I think about it?” “Of course you can, honey.” 

The kids all agreed they were happy you and Jensen were getting married. When they left the room you let out the breath you were holding. Jensen wrapped you in a tight hug and kissed your lips. “I love you so much, Y/N. You are a natural with them. Thank you for not only loving me, but loving them too. It’s more than I could ever have ever asked for.” You pulled him closer to you and snuggled into his chest, “I love you too, Jens. You guys make it easy to love you. I hope it was okay. I told the kids they could call me whatever they wanted. I don’t want them to feel like they have to call me mom.” “Sweetheart, it’s perfectly fine. I want them to be comfortable too.”

You took his hand and pulled him towards the kitchen, “Come on baby, let’s go cook some dinner.” The two of you went into the kitchen and worked together to make dinner. About 30 minutes later you were calling the kids down for dinner. The five of you sat around the table talking about the upcoming holiday, what the kids were most excited about, and other topics the kids brought up. The conversations were always so easy. 

With Christmas about a week away, the kids were especially good. You thought it was funny how their behavior shifted. Jensen told you it was normal because they wanted Santa to visit. 

“Hey, sweetheart, you haven’t told me what you wanted for Christmas.” Jensen said as he pulled you in his arms. “That’s because I have everything I could ever want, I have you and the kids. That’s all I’ll ever need.” You placed a soft kiss on his lips, “Besides, you’ve already given me this.” You showed your engagement ring. 

Jensen kissed you and smiled. “I guess I could always give you the wedding of your dreams, anything you want and it’s yours.” “Jens, this wedding should be the wedding of our dreams. It’s about us, not just me.” Jensen laughed, “You’re not going to let me spoil you are you?” You laughed, “Nope”. Jensen playfully rolled his eyes. “I love you so much, Y/N, and I’m thankful every second you’re okay.” “I love you too, Jensen, and I am too. I couldn’t leave you guys. I love you all too much.”

*Time Jump Christmas Day*

You fell asleep in Jensen’s room after several rounds of love making with him. You woke up to the sounds of little voices in the room and feeling them jumping on the bed. “Wake up daddy, and Miss Y/N! It’s Christmas!!” The three excited children were laughing and jumping up and down on the bed. “Alright guys, calm down. Head to your rooms and we will be up in a minute.” Jensen’s gruff voice boomed. The kids jumped down and ran out of the room giggling. 

Jensen rolled over and smiled softly at you, “Good morning, beautiful, and Merry Christmas.” “Good morning, handsome, and Merry Christmas to you too. I can’t believe I fell asleep here last night. I’m sorry.” Jensen cupped your face and placed a soft kiss on your lips, “Don’t be. You’re going to be my wife soon, so why not move in here with me? This will be our room. The kids were not bothered by it one bit, and neither am I.” 

“You really want me in here with you, Jensen?” “Yes, I do, more than anything.” You smiled and agreed to move your stuff in the room. “Anything you want to change in here, feel free to. This is our room, and I want you to be comfortable in it.”

You heard the kids in JJ’s room telling you two to hurry up. You and Jensen laughed. “Come on baby, the kids are waiting for us.” He said helping you out of bed. The two of you got dressed, and you went downstairs to turn on the Christmas tree and get the camera ready. You wanted to take pictures of the kids as they came into the room. 

Jensen and the kids came into the living room and their faces were beaming. You snapped pictures of them opening their gifts. You smiled seeing the joy on their faces. You handed them the gifts you had made for them and you held your breath. 

When you had family pictures made, you took pictures with each of the kids individually. You had the photographer take those photos and one of the family shots and digitally include Danneel in them. The ones of the kids and you, you had the photographer, place her on their other side. Those you had framed and that was one of your gifts for the kids. 

They opened the gifts and squealed in delight. Jensen’s eyes watered as he saw the pictures. The kids hugged you and told you they loved the pictures. You showed them the family picture, it had Jensen, you, the kids and the photographer added D into it as well. You told the kids you had her added, because she will always be a part of the family. 

After presents were opened and the kids took their gifts to their rooms, you told Jensen you had one more gift for him. He smiled, “Sweetheart, you’ve already given me everything I could ever want.” You handed him the package, “Just open it, Ackles.” You smiled. 

He opened the carefully wrapped gift and his eyes went wide as he thumbed through the album. “Damn baby, these are so good. You are absolutely gorgeous in them. The last one, where you’re wearing a veil and white lingerie, was a special one, because you had planned to wear that on your wedding night. You chose this picture as a little tease for Jensen. “This one is my favorite. He held up the last picture. I can’t wait to marry you.” “Me either baby.” He pulled you into a passionate kiss. “Thank you for these, they’re incredible.” You blushed and smiled, “You’re welcome.”

*6 months Later*

You were standing in your bedroom adjusting your dress and veil. Your wedding day finally arrived. You had been so nervous leading up to the wedding you were barely getting any sleep, and at times you were nauseous. Your best friend told you it was pre-wedding nerves. Jensen had stayed at his friend Jared’s house the night before the wedding, and his wife, Gen was in the wedding. 

The kids were running around laughing and playing as you finished getting ready. You had asked JJ and Arrow to be in the wedding as maids of honors, and you asked Zep to walk you down the aisle. He was excited he got to see you in your dress before Jensen did. 

Jensen and Jared were in the guest room downstairs getting ready, while you were upstairs. You were shaking and another wave of nausea hit you. Gen came in as you started vomiting. “Honey, are you okay?” She asked as she walked in the bathroom. “Yeah, it’s just nerves. I’ve been really nervous about the wedding and I’ve gotten sick a few times over the past few weeks. It’ll pass.” You stood, smiled at her weakly and brushed your teeth.

Gen looked at you “Y/N, are you sure you’re not pregnant? Being nervous about the wedding shouldn’t have been making you sick for a few weeks.” You looked at her thinking about the baby you lost, and how you haven’t been able to get pregnant since, you hung your head as tears pricked your eyes. “No, I don’t think I can even get pregnant anymore.” “Well, let’s find out. I happen to have a pregnancy test in my bag.” You laughed, “Why do you have one in your bag?” She laughed, “I tend to keep one on hand for myself or my friends. Now come on, let’s find out if a little Ackles is on the way.”

She handed you the test and you went back into the bathroom, closing the door behind you. After you finished taking the test, you washed your hands and stood at the sink for a minute trying to steady your breath. It would be so amazing if I was pregnant with Jensen’s baby, but what if I can’t give him a baby. What if I am pregnant but can’t carry the baby to term. Would he leave me? 

So many thoughts invaded your head. Gen gently knocked on the door, “Y/N, you okay in there?” You opened the door and Gen saw the tears in your eyes. “Hey, it’s okay. Everything is going to work out.” She pulled you into a hug. “Gen, what if I can’t have his children, or carry his baby to term. I know he has 3 already, but I want a baby with him. I’m afraid I can’t give him that.” Your tears fell freely down your face. 

Gen held you tight, “Shh, it’s okay. If you can’t get pregnant, it’s okay. Jensen loves you no matter what. Now, let’s push those negative thoughts away, and finish getting you ready while we wait.”

Gen helped you finish your hair and veil, and then your timer went off. You took a deep breath, “Gen, I don’t know if I can look at it, can you?” She shook her head yes and went to look at the test. Gen walked out of the bathroom and over to you. She threw her arms around you and hugged you tight. Your heart was beating wildly in your chest. “Guess we better switch out your alcohol tonight.” 

You looked at her confused, then it hit you, “Wait, does that mean..” Gen smiled and shook her head, “Yes! You’re pregnant, Y/N!” “Oh my god! I can’t believe it.” You both cried and hugged. 

A little while later it was time to start the ceremony. The girls and Gen walked down the aisle followed by you and Zep. Jensen was standing at the end with tears in his eyes as you walked towards him. You smiled and held Zep’s hand all the way to Jensen. 

Jensen took your hands in his and leaned over, placing a soft kiss on your lips. “You’re so beautiful.” You smiled and blushed, “Thank you baby. You look incredible, Jens.” The ceremony continued and soon you were saying your “I do’s” with tears streaming down your face.

You couldn’t believe how your life had turned out simply by making one choice to take a job at a Ranch. You had no idea when you drove into this town you would meet the man of your dreams, fall in love with him and his children, get married and have his baby, but here you were, standing hand in hand with this incredible man who was now your husband. 

Jensen practically dragged you up the aisle when you were leaving. The whole way the two of you were giggling like teenagers. Since the wedding and reception were on the ranch, you and Jensen ran upstairs to your room to change into your reception clothes. Jensen was going to wear a nice button down shirt and his black jeans, and you were going to wear your short, white lace dress. Of course both of you had to wear boots to complete your outfits. 

When Jensen pulled you into your room he pushed you against the door kissing you and helping you out of your dress. “Jens, we can’t, we have a ton of guests waiting on us.” You giggled and panted out. “Oh come on, they won’t miss us.” He smirked. “Oh no, no one will miss the bride and groom.” You laughed. 

“Thank you, Y/N.” Jensen said as he pulled you into his arms and kissed you. You looked at him puzzled, “Thank you for what?” “Thank you for making me believe in love again, for loving me and my kids, for giving me everything I could possibly want in life.”

You smiled at him, “You’re welcome. I love you.” “I love you too, darlin’.” As the two of you started to get changed another wave of nausea hit you, sending you running to the bathroom. You brushed your teeth and came back out looking up at Jensen. 

“Sweetheart, maybe we should see a doctor. You’ve been sick for a while. It’s starting to worry me.” Jensen said with concern in his voice. “Yeah, I should see a doctor. I’ll make an appointment soon, but Jensen I need to talk to you.” Jensen sat on the bed looking a little concerned, “What’s going on baby?” You took his hands and then took a deep breath, “Jensen, I’m pregnant.” Jensen sat on the edge of the bed looking up at you with wide eyes. His mouth was slightly open but he was silent. 

“Jensen, honey, please talk to me.” Tears pricked your eyes. You instantly started to panic. “You’re pregnant?” Jensen’s voice was low. You started to tremble and tears started to fall, “I’m sorry, Jensen. I didn’t mean for this to happen.” Jensen stood and pulled you into his arms, “Shhh, no, honey it’s okay. It’s more than okay, it’s amazing. You’re pregnant! You’re having my baby! We’re having a baby!” He pulled you flush to his body and kissed you. 

“So you’re not mad?” You asked. “Mad, why would I be mad, Y/N this is the best news ever! We’re actually having a baby?!” You shook your head yes, “But let’s not tell anyone yet. I want to just be careful.” Jensen nodded his understanding, “Come on baby. Let’s get back to the party. God I love you! I can’t wait to welcome this baby into our family.” Jensen kissed your lips again and the two of you walked into your reception hand in hand. 

*8 months later*

You were standing in the kitchen cleaning up from breakfast. The kids were upstairs cleaning their rooms and making their beds, Jensen was out tending to the animals. You dropped the towel you had been drying the dishes with and let out a frustrated huff. 

“Shit! Ugh! I can’t bend over and grab the damn towel.” You huffed loudly. Suddenly behind you was a stifled chuckle. You turned around and saw your husband’s green eyes staring back at you. He leaned against the doorway with his arms crossed laughing in amusement at you and your overly large belly. “What’s so funny, Mr. Ackles?!” “You are Mrs. Ackles.” He laughed as he walked up and kissed your lips and then your belly. “How are my babies doing today?” He asked as he rubbed your belly. “We’re fine. I’m ready for him to come out and stop kicking my ribs, and I’m sure he’s ready to be out and have more space. You turned to the side, “I don’t think he has any more room. I swear he’s going to be the height of a toddler.” 

Jensen laughed as he bent down to grab the towel for you. “Here baby. Why don’t you go rest and I’ll finish the dishes.” You nodded and Jensen helped you to the couch. You were incredibly uncomfortable and due any day now. Your due date was about a week away, but the doctor felt he could come at any time. 

You were thankful the baby was healthy and he was active. Every kick or movement brought with it a rush of relief, because you knew it meant he was okay and still alive. Jensen knew how anxious you were so he was thankful his son was overly active.

Jensen and Clif had spent countless hours getting the nursery ready, and you and the kids put the crib together and decorated the room. They were so excited you were having a baby, Zep was even more excited because it was a boy. 

You were sitting on the couch watching your shirt move with every kick and you placed your hand on your belly. You laid your head back and closed your eyes, savoring every movement. Arrow came into the room and looked at you, “Um, Mama, can I feel the baby too?” Your eyes shot open, she’d never called you “mama” before and you were shocked. Jensen heard her too and looked at you and smiled. “Of course you can, baby, come here.” Arrow sat beside you and you took her hand and placed it on your belly. Pressing gently to make the baby kick. When he kicked she laughed. 

She hugged you and leaned down to your belly, “I love you baby brother, I’m gonna teach you so much.” She hugged you and kissed your cheek and left the room. 

The tears you’d been holding back began to fall. Jensen sat beside you, “She loves you so much. I can’t believe she called you “mama” , that's incredible.” “I know. I’m incredibly thankful she trusts me enough for her to call me that. I can’t believe it. I love them all so much, and this baby boy is the luckiest little guy ever. He’s got such an incredible dad and three amazing siblings that are going to love him so much.” “He also has an incredible mother who would do anything to keep him and his siblings safe.” 

Jensen pulled you into his arms and kissed you. “I love you, Y/N.” “I love you too, Jensen.”

A few days later you woke up early. It was about 4am and you of course had to pee. One thing you wouldn’t miss about pregnancy was the constant need to pee. You went to the bathroom and used it. As you crawled back into bed you felt a sudden rush of warm water run down your leg. You quickly realized your water broke. 

“Jensen, honey, wake up. My water just broke.” Jensen was half asleep, “I can go get you a new one. Hang on a second.” He said groggily. “No, honey, my water broke, I’m in labor.” Jensen’s eyes shot open and he looked over at you, “What?! Are you sure?”

You nodded yes. Jensen jumped up and started to get dressed. He called Clif and he and his wife were going to come watch the kids while you two went to the hospital. 

You changed out of your wet clothes and grabbed a towel to sit on in the car. Jensen grabbed your bag and as you were walking down the stairs, Clif and his wife came in. He hugged you and kissed your head, “Go have that baby. Good luck sweetpea.” “Thanks Clif, and thank you both for watching the kids.” His wife hugged you and told you good luck. 

Jensen helped you to the car and ran around to get in. As he drove you to the hospital, the contractions started to get worse. Jensen hated seeing you in pain. He held your hand the whole way there. 

As he pulled into the hospital, the contractions were about 3 minutes apart. He ran and got the nurse and a wheelchair. By the time you got into the room the contractions were right on top of each other and the pain was worse.

The doctor came in and checked you and said you were ready to go. You took a deep breath and looked at Jensen with tears in your eyes. “I’m so scared Jensen. What if I’m not a good mother?” Jensen rubbed your head and kissed your forehead, “Shh, you’re already an incredible mother. He’s going to fit right in with our other three and you are going to do an amazing job with him, just like you do with the other three.” 

He kissed your head as the doctor said it was time to start pushing. After about 45 minutes of pushing, you delivered a healthy baby boy. He weighed 8 lbs and 9 oz, and was 22 ½ inches long. Jensen beamed with pride and you cried when you heard his sweet cry for the first time. 

Jensen was able to cut the cord, the nurses wrapped him in a blanket and put him on your chest. Jensen leaned down and kissed both of you. “He’s perfect, baby. Thank you for giving him to me.” You looked down at your son and then back to Jensen, “Thank you Jensen for him and our other babies. Thank you for loving me.” 

Jensen took pictures and sent it in a text to family and friends: 

Jensen: Y/N and I would like to introduce you to our son, Austin Ross Ackles. He weighed 8 lbs and 9 oz, and was 22 ½ inches long. Mom and baby are healthy and happy. We are so in love. 

Congratulations texts and phone calls steadily came in. You and Jensen had decided no visitors in the hospital, so the three of you could bond. It was planned for Clif and his wife to bring the kids the next day to meet Austin before you all headed home, but for now, You and Jensen would get to spend the rest of the day staring at this beautiful life your love created. You were now more than ever grateful to have taken the job on The Ranch.

making a list of good things that happened this year because there's too many and i need them recorded for posterity

visited bonus mom in england and it rewired my entire brain chemistry. i did not blog about it a lot i don't think and i don't talk about it often because it was such a joyful celia is fully present experience, but i will say that when i first arrived at the airport i was so fucking nervous and i was all kinds of shaky and fucked up and terrified that this six year long relationship would fall apart when we tried to translate it to irl and then i saw them there with a sign for me that is now on my wall in my apartment and something in my heart snapped into place and i literally physically flung myself at them and tripped over my suitcase and my knees gave out and i ended up dragging them down to the floor and we hugged for like at least ten minutes (conservative estimate probably). true story

jess is an entire bullet point on this list. funny sweet important passionate talented dedicated hardworking academically iconic definitely needs to take more naps keeps me apprised on extensive sims lore is coming out to visit in february is incisively thoughtful and we've made up beef for our dnd characters together. i love you a lot jess. i would say more things but i bet even these things are going to make you hide under a pillow. so.

so many other friends! like??? insane???? quite a few irl friends which is so cool! particular love for hal and silvain and rj (calendiles dnd crew i love you i'm so glad me putting down jenny has not meant putting down our friendships bc you're all such marvelous people) and gabby and silvain (silvain gets a double mention for Reading Literally All Of My 200K Word Fic reasons. erudite, and immensely appreciated)

and the new bg3 friends i'm beginning to associate with who i don't wanna name by name bc i'm shy and i care overly but PLEASEEE know if we've texted more than once about bg3 i probably adore you greatly and admire your creativity and thoughtful opinions and am trying to play it cool but im bad at it. yes this is about you. i deeply hope we will continue talking. probably about jaheira bc im obsessed with that woman.

being part of like 2 different dnd campaigns this year right around the time i started playing bg3 for the first time was REALLY fucking cool.

ACTUALLY ON THAT SUBJECT THE WHOLE BG3 THING WAS REALLY FUCKING COOL. it feels really special to not like....idk, this year is the first year of my life i have not been labeling myself as That Jenny Calendar Girl! i don't feel like i'm That Jenny Calendar Girl. i am celia :) i like a lot of different things! i like video games, i like bookmaking, i like drawing, i like cooking and food, i like fashion, i like writing, i like little calico critters <3 ironically my url is still the same but i think i am going to keep it that way for a little while, because i like remembering what brought me to this blog in the first place.

fell in love with my neighborhood! it was always bound to happen, but the moving-in process was rough, and it took me a while to connect with the place. now i know what drink i like to order at the local cafes, i know where i want to go for coffee and for pizza, i know about farmers' markets and local events, i know that There Is A Fucking Swimming Pool Across From My House. i do not think i can ever leave.

started to FINALLY feel comfortable in my job! i still don't totally know what i'm doing, but i don't feel like i'm sleepwalking through work while badly dissociating, and i really love the work that i do + the position i fill. i'm so hopeful that i can continue to work with teens. being a teen librarian is oft a difficult position to find

learned how to cook! did not do it often this year but oh well. i was busy.

went to the chicago art institute for the first time ever and got to see a sunday afternoon on the island of la grande jatte by georges seurat which was really insanely meaningful because sunday in the park with george is one of my dad's favorite musicals, and he went and saw that painting a long long time ago, and he also went and saw the monet paintings, and we texted a bunch about it

kept connected with my dad and my brother, and am starting to realize that having my own adult life means i fit a lot easier into theirs.

was briefly and meaningfully reunited with the actual love of my life (the pacific ocean)

VISITED A ROCK BEACH IN ENGLAND. if no one else got me i KNOW rock beach got me. everyone i have talked to is like "no, beaches need to be sandy" but i don't think they understand the sensory experience of sitting among 10000000000 rocks and picking them up and playing with them and finding a piece of rock chalk and drawing faces on the rocks and leaving all the rock faces for someone else to find and hopefully be unnerved by and then having your bonus mom's partner be like "celia are you just abandoning your children there" and reconsidering a lot of life choices but not enough to take the rock faces

i love you lake michigan im sorry i spent 80 percent of this year being mad at you for not being the pacific ocean im done having emotional problems i promise

went and saw wicked 3 different times

went on a couple of really meaningful and sweet dates and even if they didn't go anywhere i think the fact that i'm capable of feeling like that about another person is super awesome to know, and makes me so excited to keep on trying with that

went on a bunch of REALLY wonderful friend-dates and made new friends :) who i have been hanging out with on and off when our schedules allow for the last few months, and who invite me to parties and things!

received some really incredible and personal holiday gifts from a couple of friends, making me subsequently realize that maybe i'm not impossible to give gifts to

drew an entire wall of art for above my bed

bought a four piece microwave safe dish set in colors i love that remind me of marigold. for $10. will absolutely never let anyone forget that or change my blog title (which is a reference to the fact that i went insane that day to the extent that a woman leaving the shop saw me sitting outside with my cardboard box of dishes and went "are you still enjoying your dish set?" and i did not know who she was bc i blacked out and told everyone in the store about how much i loved the dish set. apparently)

i cannot even talk about marigold without getting so unwell and feeling in my chest just this indescribable feeling. i spent like eight years unwaveringly obsessed with a minor character from a 90s tv show who i really was just making into my own original character, but she never could feel fully mine, and the experience of creating my own girl from scratch (baking her, lol) when i was regularly dissociating and vaguely suicidal and having her be the thing that made me figure out how to connect with things and be happy again has been probably one of the best things i have ever experienced. to know unequivocally that the thing that makes me feel strong and centered is something i made for myself out of all the complicated insecurities and worries i feel. she brings me so much joy. i don't think i'm ever going to put her down. that 90s girl was not my baby, and that 90s video game woman, as beloved as she is, may not be around in my heart forever (though i strongly suspect it's going to be another decade, lol) but marigold? that's always. i love her. she's the girl i made for me

i'm trying to write fanfics myself & potentially even run a writing blog! could you share a few writing tips?

i’ll let you in on a secret: i started actually publishing my fics in 2020, but i since abandoned them because they’re embarrassing. however, here’s one as a starting point. i look back at it and cringe A LOT, but it was my foot in the door, and 15 year old me was very proud of it, so i didn’t want to straight up delete it.

i didn’t start out on tumblr because i get nervous being forced to interact with people because im a pretty abrupt person and i talk about the things that i like too much and im aware that can scare people away. it was about halfway thru writing old habits before i actually posted something. that was this and i posted it because i knew what little audience i had knew ME because i wrote a scaramouche fic. so. scaramouche content.

and because of the tumblr tagging system, people saw it, they liked it, and some people wanted more.

i then interacted with other writers slowly even though i was scared and frankly still am. you dont have to go around asking to be moots or spamming hearts left and right and putting their dicks in ur mouth, but being nice and having a scope around on what other people do on here helped me develop this ugly little blog i have.

i got really into hsr so i write a lot of hsr. i get a lot of people that ask if i could write more genshin impact, and i could, but at the end of the day, it’s my blog, and if i dont want to, i dont have to. i lost interest, so i dont really have to care about it, nor pay it any mind. do i still write it? sure! rarely, but i do. i don’t play wuwa anymore, but im down to write a piece or two if i get an idea, etc etc.

another thing is: don’t write in the hopes that you’ll post it on tumblr. same way i don’t think artists should draw just for the sake of posting. i have so much shit laying on various docs that won’t even be shown on this site, because it doesn’t need to be here. not because it’s bad, or it’s weird, but because i don’t have to post it, because it’s my blog.

the thing is you just be yourself and write whatever the fuck you want. i write horror & weird shit; my audience is probably well aware of that by now, and im not really worried to post anything super weird because its sort of what’s expected of me.

i know horror and romantic cannibalism connotations and yanderes and unsubtle sexy threats is not everyone’s thing, and that’s ok! they don’t have to like what i put out, and i don’t worry about it, because people who like your shit will interact, and people who don’t will not. and people that don’t like ur shit and still interact are losers. hit the block button & move on.

someone is always bound to like your works.

i guess the ‘funny’ comes from the fact that i try to write dialogue how real people would speak. in fictional context, someone like kaedehara kazuha could wax poetry for three hours without stuttering in game, but realistically, nobody can probably do that without pauses, stammers, messing up words, etc. so i try to incorporate a sense of realism into everything, even if it’s a fanfiction in a world where a small boy in white tights is a god and everyone gets tiny little orbs that give them magical elemental powers.

i remember that even though these characters are fictional, i write them as though they could potentially be real people that do things real people do: fidget, stutter, blush, try and be funny and fail, they have problems large or small, etc. you have to mould your personality and writing style to make these characters alive on what you put out—childe seems like a great husband on paper, but is he all that good when he has unchecked mental health problems and has violent outbursts and desires? think about it.

another thing: don’t doubt your skill and prowess, especially in comparing yourself to posts with like 10000+ notes. most of them are note farming bullshit anyway—and a lot of the reader community is more likely to click on porn fics than normal fics. its why the popular posts on the x reader tags are usually porn. it’s half the reason why confiteor is infinitely more popular that old habits when im pretty sure scaramouche is a bigger character on the popularity charts.

strictly nsfw blogs that people make i can guarantee you are a lot more popular than their main blogs.

which brings me to: dont hop on trends. don’t do it. youll burn yourself out. just write what you want. fuck everyone. do whatever the fuck you want. if porn is popular but you’re extremely sex-repulsed or not comfortable, don’t write it. dont write to please people; it’s your blog and your time you’re putting into to do what YOU like, and you’re sharing your work for FREE on a public platform. a lot of people can’t do that. there’s people that follow my blog that openly admit they don’t like yandere/horror/whatever content. am i going to change what i post because of these people? no. not my problem. don’t care. i don’t exist to please everyone, and neither do you. stick to what you like.

don’t write for fandoms you don’t give a shit about just because they’re popular. even if what you like has a small, non-existent fan base, i promise you’ll enjoy writing for that more than something that you’re creating for clicks. notes are nice, but again, you don’t have to post everything you create. half the joy in writing is rediscovering old shit you don’t remember writing for a fandom you actually like. it’s like a reward.

So, I'm writing a fanfiction of sorts going over the relationship between Scourge, my beloved rat and his adoptive daughter Ribbon whom he found. There's a lot of editing going on and I'm just nervous I'm getting his character wrong. Anyways, this is a little snippet of the story cause I think it's cute and shows how even early on Ribbon (Aka Nugget as she's referred to in the story) likes him. He is smelly though and its funny to me.

Here's some more of what I wrote and I think here I kind of captured Scourge and his balls of steel with his way of demeaning Shadow's grief and is just horrid in general. To be fair, he's talking to a baby that literally knows nothing about the world so he's rambling cause he's a chronic yapper.

And the latest piece I got for now. Again, I am but one person and a lot of nuisance flies over my head so please do help! Anyway, I do think Scourge would admit a lot of his more inner thoughts to Ribbon when she's this young because she won't remember anything. He hates to admit it but the fact she hasn't been aggressive or cried every time he's held her makes him a little mushy on the inside. He cares a lot about her but I think Imma aim for it to be a little more on the subtle side of things. He won't be as open to her about his feelings but I think he'd be more physically affectionate like hugging her and holding her close. If you're wondering why Scourge refers to himself as Ribbon's uncle, the TLDR is that he's trying to make up a cover story as to why he took this kid in. In his infinite wisdom, he claims that he's her uncle and doesn't think about much else. one thing that i was talking about with a friend semi recently that infuriates me to no end is how certain people on ao3 (which to be fair i won’t name because i’m not a total ass) interpret taka as an sa victim only to. how do i put this. write him like a submissive slut like 2 fics later. as someone who has gone through some form of assault myself, something about headcanoning taka as a victim, yet also as someone who’s just an innocent baby who doesn’t know anything about sex, but ALSO as lowkey slutty (only to mondo tho) feels SO SO ICKY. you can write taka as an abuse victim, but don’t like??? do weird shit with him later as if that headcanon only applies to one specific fanfic??? this is again really incoherent and barely scratches the surface but. what the fuck. yeah don’t like don’t read fiction doesn’t affect reality until you’re literally writing taka fantasizing about being r*ped.

and mondo sometimes just… he’s written so controlling and even straight up abusive sometimes. like it goes beyond “he would not fucking say that” because mondo isn’t just written as a hot macho dom, he’s literally just. mean. if you’ve seen me ranting about booktok you’d know why i have such a big problem with this. it feels so gross.

Yesss finally, people are asking for Lilidia headcanons! FINALLY… I’ve been training my whole life for this.

Once again, I am very happy you guys are enjoying Lilia/Idia, this is so special and so fun.

A quick note before we start: we’re obviously posting this way before Crimson Muscle and Gloomy Samurai meet irl, if you know what I mean, so these headcanons are more speculative than usual. I’ll just cross my fingers and wish that every single thing I’m about to describe becomes canon lol

With that out of the way, the headcanons:

When Idia first realised that his gaming buddy he’d been crushing on is actually Lilia, he got a little bit concerned, because Lilia is quite different from the image of an experienced and mature dominant older man he had in his head. Before the realisation that Crimson Muscle is Lilia, Idia had sex dreams about him, even though the image of the man was very vague and kind of like a combination of certain traits Idia would find attractive, or just his avatar character. Although what Idia does remember very well every morning is the way the man groped and fucked him in his dreams. It goes without saying, but these dreams always leave Idia very horny and frustrated. Idia finds this whole thing extremely cringy and embarrassing, but at the same time he can’t really help it. When he first saw Lilia himself in his dream, it became even more embarrassing. This mysterious man just has this weird ability to transform Idia from smug and confident into shy and trembling inside in one sentence. And when Lilia gets intentionally flirty, Idia is completely at his mercy. Lilia has tons of fun with how obvious Idia’s reactions are even through the monitor: he had sensed that Gloomy Samurai is quite submissive way before he found out that he is Idia.

And Lilia himself is, once again, very dominant. He is definitely going to act cutely at first, just to flirt and playfully mess with Idia, but when he sees that the cute part doesn’t really do anything but make him uncomfortable (which is also fun for Lilia, to be fair), he’ll start treating him the way he’s always treated the boys he’s slept with: with teasing, but demanding tone, experienced yet very selfish and greedy touch, and actions that would be too much for a regular pillow-princess type of a virgin, but perfect for Idia.

Lilia is very talkative. Sometimes he is playful and even mocking: he’s asking Idia embarrassing questions about how he feels and comments on how tight and tense he is. But it’s not like he’s all fluffy, sometimes his comments get quite harsh and degrading, especially since he sees that Idia enjoys it when he’s being mean to him. It’s not unnatural for general Vanrouge to talk to his lover this way though, he’s done much, much worse.

It’s also not unusual for Idia to mention some bizarre sex thing he’s seen in some hentai as a joke, and Lilia’s reaction is almost always “yeah, I’ve done it”. This scares Idia, but at the same time kind of intrigues him. Although he’s always afraid that Lilia is just trolling him (he isn’t). Or even worse: if Idia expresses that he doesn’t believe Lilia, he’s just going to do that thing with him to prove a point (he really is going to).

Lilia is definitely taking advantage of the fact that he can float, both with regular sex and oral. Idia is very tall, but it’s never an issue for Lilia: he can reach his butt literally whenever he wants. Sometimes as a surprise, just because he enjoys the way Idia flinches and jumps when spooked.

Lilia bites. He’s not as horrible as the tweels, but he does like to leave a bite mark or two on Idia’s neck, when he gets especially aroused during sex. It’s like Idia is dating a vampire or something…

I feel like I owe this one to people: Lilia is bigger than he is supposed to be logically and anatomically. He’s not as monstrously big as I (half-jokingly) draw him, but still big enough to make Idia feel him surprisingly deep and choke on him. To Idia, it really does feel like he is inside some hentai doujin sometimes. Especially when Lilia fills Idia, and Idia feels like he’s about to pass out, because this isn’t even a cream pie anymore, this is something indescribable.

every other kid there gives him the death glare because these mfs KNOW he is loving the attention and the massive ego boost it gives him.

mammon: the disgrace

ok my southeast asian homies (and maybe south as well) we all know this mf

the main antagonist of the auntie gossip

often comes in the form of a sketchy uncle

has at LEAST two tattoos and one of them is probably a dragon (i am projecting my own disgrace uncle on to him so hard)

got in a lot of trouble for either scamming another relative out of money or gambling away their families money

smokes on the balcony during gatherings (if he's even allowed to go)

actually pretty nice and funny but nobody wants to be around him because hes a lowkey faliure. most of the older kids like hanging around him, but often dont stay around him too long as their parents are worried of his influence.

also he probably took up modeling which made the aunties hate him even more

eyes flick to mammon as he seats himself at the dining table, and he responds to them with a nervous smile. "mammon," one of the adults starts lowly, in a belittling tone that made him sick to his stomach. "didn't bring anything to the gathering, not even 古老肉..." they look at him before adding another taunt. "oh.. that's right.. you never learned mandarin, did you? nothing to contribute lah. always take, take, take with you. just LIKE WHAT YOU DID TO MY HUSBAND'S MONEY!!"

ruckus erupts as everyone on the adults table simultaneously starts yelling, as though the family tension built up over the past year head finally snapped.

Leviathan: the teenager

congratulations dude, you just got the most underrated type of asian at a family gathering.

doesn't get as much attention as lucifer due to being relatively mediocre and not as talented as him, but will occasionally his parents will flex his coding skills or an award he got at school.

doesnt really talk due to not much people at the family gathering being his age group, so he mostly sits in a very solitary corner of the kids table on an uncomfortably small plastic chair and plays games to pass the time.

SPEAKING OF GAMES

the moment the asian parents kick the kids off to the nintendo switch or wii u so they can freely argue about politics or whatever (im not sure im still stuck at the kids table 😭), this man completely shifts.

beats everyone MULTIPLE TIMES. makes them fucking bawl. oh my gosh its actually so funny.

the little kids hate him because he beats them so often in mario kart.

s01e03 - Dead in the Water

We now get into episode 3, Dead in the Water...

It's a fantastic episode and great insight into Dean Winchester.

That's it, that's my whole intro.

So before I start my breakdown, I just want to say that I genuinely love this episode. The monster of the week aspect is fine, and the water aspect is very creepy and really works.

But, how they start to unpack the enigma that is Dean Winchester is my favourite thing. Dean in season 1 is very different to who he ends up being - part of that is good writing and part of that is an accident which ended up creating - imo - the greatest male fictional character on tv.

This is an episode that I can point to and say 'yes, that is the Dean Winchester that I see in the later seasons' because while the foundations are laid for who he is, there isn't a lot of obvious similarities between later seasons Dean and s1 Dean - but this episode unpacks the gentle side of him and how we know going forward that a lot of Dean Winchester is posturing and seeming tough, while actually being very caring and very loving.

I don't have a fear of water, but I am nervous swimming in lakes and any dark water, and this episode does not help with that anxiety. We open on a woman swimming and she gets dragged under, which is terrifying!!!!

It doesn't need to be said every episode, but my god Dean is pretty!!!

Sam annoys me a little bit with his whole judgement of Dean sleeping or flirting with anyone, like... it's entirely unnecessary, and makes him look like a bit of a dick. Its a very conservative view of sex and I suppose in 2005 there might have been a want to have the promiscuous brother - Dean - and the romantic brother - Sam, but now as I watch it in 2024 it feels a bit slut shamey. 

Sam is very touchy about finding dad, he gets annoyed about it very quickly, and it's funny because Dean isn't annoyed at Sam, until Sam implies that Dean doesn't care about finding John as much as he does. Dean goes on the offence and talks about Sam not being there and Dean being with John 'for the last 2 years'. 

This to me reads as Dean feeling attacked rather than actively trying to make Sam feel bad. The one thing you can always believe about Dean is that no one - other than Sam, maybe - cares about their family as much as Dean does, and Sam implies that Dean doesn't care which sets him off on the defensive, because Family is top priority for Dean, always.

Again Dean highlights the importance of saving people, not just finding dad. Another instance of his want to help people and not just kill monsters or be on a mental revenge quest.

Agent Ford and Hamill... God, some of the aliases are just not it.

Another example of Dean trying to go with someone to get to the truth, he messes up with the Dam and just goes with the punch to try and save face. It's not a massive thing, but it's funny to note that he's done that in this episode and the last. 

Dean meets Andrea, he's friendly, shakes her hand, isn't creepy or leering at her. Then he sees her son, Lucas, and immediately switches his attention to wanting to know how he is, when he doesn't reply, he moves on - but it clearly stays with him that Lucas doesn't talk. 

Him asking Andrea to take them to the motel is definitely veering more on the side of wanting a hookup, but the whole walk he is asking about Lucas, he doesn't do it well... but he is asking about that and not anything else. I don't see him asking about Lucas or saying 'kids are the best' as a chat up line, it's just Dean got a bad vibe from Lucas and wants more information.

Sam again doesn't know his brother all that well, because as we will find out, Dean Winchester is amazing with kids - from young kids all the way to troubled teenagers. It shocks me that in the same episode where we see Dean being so gentle with Lucas, we have his brother implying that Dean doesn't interact well with children. Like, that is not a way to show the brother bond, how Sam doesn't know that is beyond me - Dean raised Sam, how does Sam not see that Dean is a very nurturing and caring figure. I suppose it goes back to how differently Dean presents himself in front of Sam compared to how we end up knowing Dean to be, and maybe highlights how Sam remembers their childhood and how those 2 years away may have skewed his view on his brother.

Dean's caring instincts kick into overdrive when he finds out that Lucas saw his dad die. We literally see him look at the scenario in a totally different light, and he immediately can relate to Lucas. 

Sam does not have the same emotional reaction, he looks at it as a case, and sounds very calm about everything and is just stating the facts. This is the first clear instance we get of this case being very different for Sam than for Dean.

The minute Dean see's Lucas he has a one track mind for seeing if he is okay or knows anything about the lake.

Sam is finally understanding that Dean's care and interest in Lucas is not related to trying to sleep with Andrea.

Dean seems to see himself in Lucas almost immediately, which we will see more later in the episode, but to me, that is why Dean is so certain that Lucas knows something and saw something.

The scene between Lucas and Dean while they are drawing is amazing, its one of the core reasons why I love Dean Winchester, and part of that is Jackles and how he manages to make Dean sound so gentle when he talks to Lucas, but he also doesn't talk down to him. He manages to convey that Dean just cares... about everyone. He cares about this kid we met 5 minutes ago enough to understand that Lucas doesn't want to talk, but will listen and maybe just needs someone to understand him.

His voice and the slight break in his voice before he says 'that's... my mom' is so telling of how Dean is still not over her death, and it still affects him even 22 years on. These are all examples of instances where Jensen just does something, that he - even 3 episodes in - understands Dean Winchester.

'Kids are strong. You'd be surprised what they can deal with'. If that isn't Dean talking about himself - and most likely Sam, because Dean always puts Sam first. These throwaway lines give you an idea of what they had growing up, and how they likely had to persevere through a lot.

Clearly Dean trying with Lucas makes an impact, because Lucas trusts him enough to want to give Dean a clue and draws him a picture.

The whole hand in the sink thing is the second thing that creeps me out about this episode, it is awful!!

The boy are smart again - and I am here for it. They put together that it's coming from the lake not 'something that controls water'.

Dean not talking after Mary's death is one of my roman empires, I think about it so much. Because it makes total sense that he would stop talking. Dean feels so much all the time, so the idea that he was so scared after Mary that he couldn't talk makes sense. 

Dean very obviously sees himself in Lucas and through that he can connect to him, and also open up in a way he probably doesn't do a lot. 

We understand that Dean tries to be brave every day because of his mom, which is a knife in my heart. 

The blocking of the shot, and the fact that we see Dean talking to Lucas with Sam and Andrea lurking by the door is interesting, because at some point, the camera pans past Dean and makes him a blur and shows Sam very obviously and as the centre of the shot, and clearly you are meant to care about Sam's reaction to what Dean is saying and him learning something new about his brother. 

This plays into my belief that at least in season 1, Dean and Sam have a relationship that is slightly less brotherly, and leans into the fact that Dean raised Sam. This is a factor, because as everyone gets older, you start to understand and learn about the person that raised you, you start to see that when you were a kid you may not have noticed everything. Season 1 to me, is Sam learning about the man who raised him, and realising that how he remembers Dean may not be the true Dean, it would also explain why the softer and more vulnerable side to Dean is slightly alien to Sam, because as a parent, you try to hide the insecurities or struggles, and that's what Dean has done for Sam his whole life.

Sam tries to bring up the whole selective mutism thing that Dean has just talked about, but Dean is very quick to shut down any talk of that. Dean is very emotional and is not averse to talking about these things. But I think he needs to feel in control of how they are brought up and talked about, he needs to be the one to open up and not have Sam ask about it. It's part of Dean and his need to put up a front, he doesn't want to talk about things that make him emotionally vulnerable unless he decides to, and he will just shut down when he doesn't want something talked about - which I relate to.

This won't be the last instance of Sam learning something about their childhood, we get at least 2 more that I remember off the top of my head.

We get a lore dump, and some traumatic stories from an older woman. We also Mr Carlton talking to the lake. All the norm for Supernatural.

They go to the police station and are talking about the case. Lucas gets upset and tries to cling onto Dean, another way to show the trust Lucas has in Dean.

The boys get called out for not being rangers, and very aggressively get told to leave. They both stay quiet and agree to leave - even if they don't actually.

Dean's conscience gets the better of him, and we assume he heads back into town. Sam is doubtful, but Dean is very sure that they haven't solved the case, he says that Lucas was scared and he doesn't want to leave until he's sure Lucas will be okay.

Sam yet again has no clue who Dean is, because he is shocked that Dean cares about Lucas.

If there were water related deaths happening in my town, I would not be having a bath. Just saying.

Lucas is banging on the door, as Andrea is flailing around in the bath. Thankfully tv magic is at play and Dean and Sam come at the perfect time to save her. Dean stays with Lucas, and Sam saves Andrea.

Lucas begins to creepily stare out the window and then walks out to the shore line. Kids doing things while just staring is very off putting.

We realise that Andrea's dad and Bill Carlton killed Peter many years ago and the spirit is going after his family - which fair enough, if someone killed me, I'd be coming back as a spirit to get them.

He DROWNED a boy and he says they didn't mean to!!! Holding someone underwater is not an easy thing to accidentally do.

Lucas gets pulled underwater by the spirit and Dean jumps into save him.

Jake sacrifices himself to stop Lucas from being taken, and Dean gets Lucas.

Jensen talks about filming this, and it sounds terrible. Apparently he had divers holding his legs and trying to pull him under while he was holding the little boy who plays Lucas. Now I'm a strong swimmer but that still sounds awful, and they are wearing layers, so many layers.

Sam says that 'they can't save everyone' but he and Dean seem to be taking it hard that they didn't save Andreas dad.

In a very cute moment, Dean makes sure Lucas knows to say 'Zeppelin Rules' which is just adorable. Dean also gets another kiss from a woman he hasn't been flirting with but oh well, it's supernatural in 2005, its gotta happen.

Overall,

This is a very good episode, and the first since the pilot that keeps me entertained the whole way through, we steadily understand who Sam is as the show goes on and every episode so far has given us something new.

But there is something about uncovering who Dean is that just makes it feel more impactful, it might be that it just feels like we are getting an insight into something that the other characters don't see, and it might just be down to how magnetic Jensen is, that we constantly want to learn more about Dean and we learn things slowly.

I moved on sometime after S3 ended and I found another hyperfixation but now new content is coming out with S4 so I’m back on my The Boys bullshit. I’m a Butchlander shipper, BILLY BUTCHER AND HOMELANDER CONSUME MY THOUGHTS. I AM BEYOND OBSESSED WITH THOSE TWO! I need them to kiss…. And-and more. Anthony Starr and Karl Urban are my current celebrity crushes that I’m only able to think about. If you follow me in insta it’s just been The Boys 24/7 that I’ve talked about since new content started dropping thanks to S4. HOMELANDER IS MY BABYGIRL I WILL DEFEND HIM I DON’T CARE FOR HIS CRIMES I DON’T CARE IF I’M SUPPOSE TO HATE HIM, I LOVE HIM. BILLY BUTCHER MY GOTH BOYFRIEND I WILL DIE IF YOU DIE. Invincible is my other current hyperfixation, S1 was so good and I can’t wait for S2 to continue. They should’ve dropped all the episodes at once that way I don’t have to wait but whatever. Vigilante is my little meow meow from Peacemaker. I love Adrian so much, hate that I gotta wait till like 2025-2026 for S2 possibly.

Night at The Museum came out when I was 7, I’m 24 now, I haven’t moved on. It was my first hyperfixation and ship before I even knew what that all meant. I’ve written like 30 JedTavius fics. I’m a Venom fan first and a Spider-Man hater second. I will defend Venom at all times and Eddie and him are definitely in love. When the FNAF film came out it brought me back to my FNAF phase, Foxy’s my favourite with Bonnie being second. I watched the film about 20 times. Then in November I started a personal rewatch challenge on Insta where I watched it all month long. Meaning I’ve probably watched it at least 50 times and I still haven’t gotten sick of it (also I love the Josh Hutcherson whistle meme. I don’t care how much people hate it I think it’s funny.) I’m a huge Marvel fan, I literally grew up with the comics, I’m not kidding those were read to me as my bedtime stories. My favourite characters are Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes as a result I ship them. I never shipped Stucky, that never made sense to me whilst Sam and Bucky have so much chemistry. Sam Wilson is everything to me, I adore SamCap he’s MY Captain America (still love Steve though!) Roger Rabbit is my favourite fictional character of all time, my biggest comfort character. Growing up I really tried to base my personality off of him, the world might be obsessed with Jessica Rabbit but I’m obsessed with Roger. People need to draw, edit, and cosplay him as much as they do Jessica. I’ve been a huge Simpsons fan since I was like 10 and my mother dropped me off at my aunts house and she left leaving me alone with my cousin who was watching The Simpsons and it took off from there. Nelson Muntz is my funky little son and they need to make Nelisa canon. Maleficent is my favourite Disney character (actually like quite a bit of Disney, second favourite character being Donald Duck) I based a lot of my style around her, and I have a lot of Maleficent collectibles. I absolutely love the Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent films (totally ship her with Diaval).

There’s a few other things that I really, really love. I’m also a huge horror fan my favourite being Chucky/Child’s Play as well as Killer Klowns from Outer Space, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (not 3D), Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc. Sanrio, Kuromi is my favourite second is Pochacco, I really love animated films and cartoons. IT, Monster High, and more. I’m also a collector of all these things.

So there you have it. Those are all my hyperfixation and fandom’s that I’m in. Right now especially those first 3 that I talked about (seriously can you tell I really like The Boys? Lol)

his sudden voice makes you jump out of your skin and snap the book shut

"Is this how you spend your down time?" not accusatory tho, genuinely curious even though his voice comes out bored lol

he says nothing else as he raises an eyebrow at you then walks away

only when the next time you get down and dirty with him do you realize he must have been looking through your books and seeing what you liked and didn't like from your annotations in the margins

he's a really fast learner

Her name is Saulus. She is sassy little Dark Urge Tiefling Bhaal Battle Beer Bard, dreaming of a retirement with Astarion at Moonrise Towers with best friend Thisobald Thorm.

The Tiefling bard is banned from most gnome weddings and some cities in Faerûn 😂 There is some fun rivalry between her and Volo 😄

Her dream is to marry Astarion, start a family and settle down with him at Moonrise Towers to reopen the Waning Moon Distillery.

(The party, "Opa" Ketheric, bhaal cult and the undead horde are babysitters)

She uses two hand crossbows, wanted to be an evil bhaal babe, but ended up doing all the right things 😄 The Urge is still strong in her, so better not making here angry 😈

She is absolutely in love with Astarion and the owl bear cub (her son) and Thisobald is her best friend.

She is insecure about her Tiefling look, holding her tail when she is nervous. Saulus plays dirty funny limericks with the lute and mostly lyra but with two missing strings at the moment💀(maybe she doesn't take criticism very well😅)

She likes gnomes but is banned from most gnome festivities because she confuses them with kids and is singing too many dirty limericks (at children's birthday parties thinking it is a wedding; but also inappropriate for weddings though... 😅)

Saulus: "Let me tell you my bardic epos:

After all fires in Baldur's Gate are extinguished only one remains: Cazador's palace. I burn it down, so Astarion is getting his head clear and get over his Ascension Master God Complex. And because the handymen failed to build a palace door in owlbear size for our son the owlbear cup. In consequence of I won the drinking competition against my bff Thisobald Thorm I inherited (more or less official and legal) the propery deed of The Waning Moon.

Ketheric is still alive and our grandpa Ketheric now.

I marry Astarion, start a family and settle down with him at Moonrise Towers to reopen the Waning Moon Distillery.

And when Opa Ketheric is holding the little half Elf Tiefling Vampire baby for the first time, you can see how the light and will to live is coming back into his eyes.

I am the bard at the bar, barkeeper and my own best customer.

The party, "Opa" Ketheric, the bhaal cult and the undead ghoul horde of vampirelord Astarion are the babysitters. (Everyone wants to look after the baby but the party is failing miserable and Dammon is giving them babysitter lessons because Karlach is also pregnant and is lending Dadstarion Clive til her baby is coming. Opa Ketheric is always babysitter of the month, but surprisingly closed followed by the ghoul and bhaal assassins. Father bhaal is not really welcome but Sceleritas of course!)

Needless to say we still have a vacation home at Baldur's Gate and coming back there with a little family.

When we are walking through the city, we do it in single file and every child (also the owlbear cub of course!) is holding the tail of the sibling in front, so no one is getting lost in the big city. One child do not have a tail, because it is more elfish than the rest, but he is wearing a costume tail to be part of it and he insists that Papa Astarion is also wearing a fake one, so that they are all similar.

Astarion and I always must pay reparations, because the owlbear cup grew to like rose pedals at the wedding and now it destroys the gardens at Baldur's Gate.

I perform dirty limericks and funny songs about our friends and adventures at the Elfsong Tavern. And especially by the order of Lord Gortash many songs about Dragons(born).

Yeah almost everyone is alive.

Astarion and the party are the bouncers so everyone must watch the whole concert. Yes Astarion supports everything his wife does! The stupider, the better. And because as the only one he is wearing earplugs.

Romeo and Juliet Vikdecai AU

So I'm seriously considering making a full Romeo and Juliet AU. I was having breakfast with my roommate and he helped me fit in a few gaps that were missing crucial characters, which then snowballed to me being bale to complete fitting in the character list.

I'm tempted to turn this into a large fic or (more realistically considering my schedule) a series of small comics. If I turned it into a fic: it would be very long. I'd either have each chapter be each scene, or 5 chapters revolved around each act (longer to write). It'd be true to the original play to the best of my abilities. If I turned it into a comic: It'd be quite scattered and all over the place.

I may do a mix of both? Write the fic and draw complementary scenes to post here. I'm mostly trying to think about my college schedule and everything I have to write for my creative writing courses. (Maybe I could talk to my short fiction prof about this!)

Here's what I have so far:

Missing characters: Zib, Wick, Lacy, Nina, Gracie, Zulie, Virgil, the pig farmers, rest of the band, Church, Kehoe, Ruby.

Not all of these missing characters need to be filled, and there's a few where I have an idea how to incorporate them (namely the band and Zulie, I have an idea that during the Act 1 Scene 5 party they could be there,) and there's a few that aren't relevant enough to truly be needed for this au (the pig farmers, Gracie, Church, Virgil.) In a perfect world I'd have a place for all of these characters and it would work out with no gaps, but this is a Romeo and Juliet Vikdecai AU. It was never meant to fit perfectly because obviously Tracy never wrote these characters with this sort of AU in mind..

Elaboration for why I cast other characters the way I did under the cut (LOTS OF WORDS):

Viktor as Romeo is... a little tricky. Same with Mordecai as Juliet.Obviously, they're not going to be changed fundamentally JUST to fit the au. I have the plan for Viktor to be more of a sad sack than a romantic, hence why Viktor's canon wife has been cast as the girl who rejected Romeo (also he's bisexual.) Viktor starts this AU in such a sad spot, but the hard part comes in when you remember that there is no war trauma. There is no PTSD. This is my biggest hurdle when writing most aus, not even just Vikdecai aus. (You should see the cowboy au!) Now Mordecai, I have a plan. He's very true to the Mordecai we see in canon, just without the Heller family (as they wouldn't exist here.) There's no Rose, no Esther, and no Mama Tzipporah. But when you think about it, that doesn't quite stop Mordecai from being the way he is! He's still this nerdy, rude, analytical twerp that Viktor grows attracted to. I am most excited to work out the party scene. Perhaps Mordecai catches Viktor's eye not because of his beauty, but because he's the 'brought a book to a club' trope. The other's can wait, why the hell is this guy reading at a party.

Atlas and Mitzi are the Montagues, because this idea revolves around Viktor being of the Montague house, but seeing how Mordecai is part of the Capulets in this AU, I felt the need for Atlas to be dead so it's more true to the canon story. It also saves me on writing Atlas, a character we don't know much about personality wise (we can only theorize and speculate.) Rocky as Mercutio WORKS TOO WELL. I know there are some people who would make this au with a RockyxMordecai focus (I hate that ship too much) BUT IT WOULDN'T WORK! ROCKY IS NO ROMEO, ROCKY IS A MERCUTIO. THE QUEEN MAB SPEECH PEOPLE! Freckle as Benvolio is just very funny to me, and very fitting with Rocky as Mercutio. I have ALWAYS read Benvolio as this nervous little guy following around Mercutio, and if I'm remembering this right Benvolio is good in a fight. This just works!!! Balthasar is Romeo's trusted friend, and the one who tells him of Juliet's "death." I didn't know where else to put Ivy, honestly, and this is the closest we'd get to 'Romeo's trusted friend.'

I don't know what to do about Lady Capulet? She's a very important character in the play, as she speaks with Juliet many times, but there is no canon character who would be Asa's wife, and I don't know if Asa even HAS a wife. Perhaps I could put Nina there, but that would be VERY awkward seeing how Rocky and Freckle are part of the other house. I may make an oc for that role? Someone stuck up and stiff to contrast Asa's dad vibes. THAT OR: since Juliet's gender swapped in this I could cut Lady Capulet altogether and have Asa be the one to come talk to Mordecai about the marriage and such. Might just do that... Mrs. Bapka as the nurse is an idea from my roommate that I love too much to not do. She wouldn't speak a word in english, obviously, and that can cause a lot of issues story-wise, but 1. who else would the nurse be, I'm struggling and 2. THE COMEDY OF IT ALL. And also-I like to think Mrs. Bapka does know Mordecai! He goes to visit Viktor and this tiny little grandma comes over without warning and they know each other! And she's a neutral party who could want the best for them both.

Dom as the Prince is purely because who else would go there, and the Prince is a character who keeps the peace. Almost like Dom is trying to keep the peace in St. Louis by putting an end to the criminal bootlegging? I think it's a good fit.

I think Serafine as Count Paris and Nico as Tybalt is the funniest option. I almost had those characters filled in as Wes and Fish (inspired by @melffen 's Beauty and the Beast fic having Wes be Gaston, and Count Paris is trying to marry Juliet, you can see where my thought process was) but then I realized,

Where do the savoys go

That doesn't QUITE fit the personalities I'm going for (works in the BatB au since Serafine's better as the witch! I loved the subtle casting of her as the with more than you'll ever know)

Wes and Fish as the two Capulet's who get into a fight at the start of the play is a much funnier outcome.

The Arbogasts as the clergy characters is too funny for me to not do. Originally I had the idea of Abelard as Friar Laurence, but I was hesitant due to 1. main couple is gay and 2. HELLFIRE, so I swapped him and Bobby when I remembered Friar John exists. Elsa is a good fit for the apothecary, since you know. Nurse. Quackenbush is a backup who's more like a stunt double just in case something goes wrong when writing her character.
