I think DnD lore is fascinating. The detail gone into building this universe should be celebrated, analyzed, and dissected. Pointing out inconsistencies and joking about - even becoming performatively "angry" at clumsy retcons or oversights in good humor - is the right of any devoted TTRPG player or fan.
However, I am really baffled by people who feel the need to point out or even reprehend creators who ignore or change part of the lore in their own stories to fit the narratives they they're trying to tell.
You know whats frustrating about trying to tell a story that takes place in a non-fictional world? That we have to adhere to the rules of how that world functions. Or at least we better do that or else a gaggle of sticklers will come barreling through all of the subtext, themes, and whatever point you the writer were trying to make, to instead point out that the *obscure and deeply debated* historical element you used was incorrect and took them out of the narrative, or ask why the character didn't simply "call the police".
The beautiful thing to me about DnD, on the other hand, is that it is deeply malleable. You can take things out or add things in or change them to your liking all in the name of serving the story that you want to tell and keeping it focused on what you deem important - instead of having to take random detours to explain how unimportant-event-that-slightly-facilitates-my-plot is possible. It was this magical rock. It was the Gods. It was fictional faction established in chapter two. It was this skeleton man I randomly met in a tomb.
I understand that this mindset might not appeal to people who want to read stories about strict and well-defined political and cultural conflict, or centuries-old Godly spats of biblical proportions based on ancient and well-established astral beef - if that kind of thing IS the main course for you, I get it. Go out there. Find it and eat it up.
But there is another section of people for whom those aspects are set-dressing, whose engagement depends more so on dynamics set between characters and their emotional development throughout the story - everything else is there to facilitate these interpersonal journeys and make it as concise and interesting as possible. Naturally, most people are going to be some mix of both archetypes, but I think they will always prioritize one over the other.
Regardless - remember, it's fantasy. You are arguing for (at times demanding, even) consistency in populations and creatures that have never existed. You GOTTA admit that that is a little silly.

The way Ein is treated in PDH S2 is genuinely so frustrating as someone who loves to pick apart characters and their mindsets.
This first section is built on speculation, but I feel like it’s heavily implied that the all-werewolf school he transferred from was very traditional in the way they handled pack politics and daily life. Sniffing people upon first meeting, strict adherence to werewolf rules and customs, how confused and/or uncomfortable he gets when things are settled in a more “human” manner, etc. Like how the fuck is he meant to know things don’t work that way there…? They keep throwing curveball after curveball at him and getting mad when he doesn’t react like everyone else. And it’s not like any of the other werewolves were gonna explain to him how things work at their school considering they all hate him, and Aphmau can’t help with that either because she’s absolutely fucking clueless about the culture she’s shoved herself into and doesn’t bother explaining to him why she leads the way she does outside of “this is how I do things!”. He suddenly went from a very rigid form of the pack system to this weird, mixed-up version, not to mention suddenly going from an all-werewolf school to one with students of all kinds of different races(?) with no adjustment period. Moving schools is already a difficult process for kids but I can only imagine something like that would make it a million times harder. Especially with no support from your peers.
Also I’m sorry but I do not feel fucking bad for Dottie, Daniel, and Rylan having to pick one of them to be the omega. Love them but they didn’t give two shits about bullying and isolating the omega until it got turned around on them and they realized it wasn’t fun being harassed. Maybe I’m just a petty bitch but if I was in Ein’s position and I could get back at someone who bullied me by putting them in my place I would do it too. “Oh well he went too far with it!” I don’t fucking care! He is a 15 year old child who suddenly went from being hated and harassed by his entire community to being in charge of all of them within a day. Obviously it’s going to get to his head. OBVIOUSLY he’s going to do stupid shit because he feels suddenly untouchable. I’m not going to blame a child for not being mature enough to responsibly lead an entire group of like a hundred other children or handle his emotions properly!
Anyway, proceeding to show Aaron keeping his role as omega instead of picking one of those three to make Ein look like an unreasonable asshole was also just an insane thing to witness cuz how on gods green earth was he supposed to know he could do that. The teacher’s reaction in the flashback shows plain as day that that is not something that’s happened before and it’s not like he told Aphmau or Ein they were allowed to do that so how the fuck was he supposed to know that was possible. And it’s not like he was even in the wrong for picking an Omega in the first place because he was LITERALLY TOLD TO. “Oh it’s different bc those three are pups! They can’t defend themselves!” and yet the weakest members of the pack are ALWAYS candidates to be the Omega? You can’t tell us werewolf rules and then expect us to think Ein is in the wrong for adhering to them, that’s fucking stupid.
And, a little bit of a tangent, the fact that the scene of Ein telling Kai he can’t compete to be the werewolf alpha is framed in a way to make it seem like EIN is the one in the wrong is actually fucking bonkers. Kai is not apart of that culture. He has no fucking right trying to insert himself in their politics let alone LEAD them. Ein was completely justified in telling him to fuck off no matter his intentions. Sorry not sorry.
And, love Jess to bits, not trying to come for her, but the entire “Ein was manipulating Aphmau all along” twist was fucking stupid. It relies almost entirely on you watching Emerald Secret alongside it in order for it to not be obviously out of left field. And I’m sorry but if you need to watch an entirely different series for your twist to work, it fucking sucks. The only actual hint toward it is the other wolves being weirded by him but even then it’s implied that’s because he’s 1. A transfer from a different pack and 2. The omega??? So it’s like okay what else do we have. Him finding Aphmau being the alpha as a human weird? Okay well that’s not a hint either cuz it literally IS weird considering she is not apart of their culture. Him insisting Kai can’t compete to become the alpha? Also not a hint because YEAH THATS FUCKING CRAZY???? Not to mention there is no 15yo on this planet who is that good at manipulation. Sorry but it’s true. I think the plot would’ve worked a lot better if they’d gone the “power corrupts’ route instead of the “secret evil master manipulator” route. But yk we can’t have TOO many people sympathizing with our villain, or else they might realize a grown man coming back to beat up this high school sophomore is fucked up! Speaking of.
The fact that we, as the audience, are supposed to see Aaron, a grown man, sneaking into the school in a stolen uniform, beating the shit out of this 15yo child because he tried to sabotage his relationship with another 15yo (which like, technically a dick move but also get away from that little girl), and then throwing one of the kids who is SHOWN to have bullied Ein out with him to make it look like he did it, and view that as a GOOD THING is actually horrific. Aaron gets a pass for this and all the other weird or straight up awful shit he does but god forbid Ein step one foot out of line or else he’ll suffer the narrative’s wrath!
And then he gets manipulated and exploited by a literal demon from hell and somehow he is still the devil! Yeah man! Whatever!
Anyways, rant over. I hate this series and this fandom for the way they treat Ein and refuse to see the nuance in his character.

Heyheyyy!!! I saw you right for for, if I may van I request for Poseidon, Apollo and hades? Dokusha is like a straight up asshole and is mean to everyone lol. Uhhmm Idk if u still write yandere, but if ur not comfy w that just normal ror than:) thank you, have a great day!!!🫶🩷
I’ll write Yandere if you like! I’d love to! I assume we’re a God so let’s go with that! No problem, we’re basically like Poseidon except maybe worse! Thank you, I have been wanting to write for more Record of Ragnarok for a while now! Hope we get more of the manga and I also hope to get a request for Nikola. I love Nikola Tesla in this series 🥰
Poseidon
Tumblr media
Poseidon despises your attitude. You’re disrespectful, you’re rude, you’re agitative, you’re catty… yet, he is so fascinated by who you are, even if you drive him up the wall by daring to berate him. The God of Gods, the King of the Seas and the man far above you, just a puny God/Goddess… he needs more of you and gets obsessed over it
Poseidon did just meet you and he has an uncontrollable obsession he didn’t know where it came from but he’s now addicted to it. You’re a desirable yet infuriating force; he wants you, he wants to shape you, he wants to mold you into a perfect lover, he wants to form you the greatest ruler of the Sea besides him
Poseidon, unlike his brother and nephew, will force what he wants on you very aggressively and he is the much more toxic Yandere lover. Kick and insult him all you want, you won’t get away from him and you won’t win whatsoever. You can be as much of an asshole as you want, he’s an asshole too. You can’t escape
Poseidon can actually handle your own hyper-hatefulness well… by using his own immense raw strength, using his authority as a Supreme God. Keep kicking against him as he drags you back to the room he labelled as yours, he’ll make sure you can’t speak for the whole night
Poseidon is obsessed to the point he will make you his wife/husband/spouse right away, like the moment he gets his hands on you and he often uses his marine beings to invoke constant surveillance on you. He doesn’t care what he has to do, he’ll get you and he’ll be able to smell your beautiful hair and he’ll have what he wants. YOU
Poseidon is a very possessive Yandere, he gives you orders and rules, and he suspects you to obey them. Do not and he’ll punish you for daring to disobey him in a rather… unfavourable way, the only man who’ll tolerate your utterlyunattractive bitchiness. Do as he says, he’ll praise and reward you. More food, more luxury, not a day in the semi-flooded cellar
Poseidon will absolutely kill every soul who just looks in your direction in the most violent manner possible. Do you think he has morality? None in the slightest. If you see him make eye contact with somebody, suspect him to spill their guts all over the floor. As divine punishment for tainting you with their filth called a existence
Poseidon is the embodiment of a very strict stern hyper violent Yandere, who gives you brutal punishments as to ‘fix you’ and isolates you from everybody, yet loves you infinitely
Apollo
Tumblr media
Apollo is a lot less aggressive, more eccentric and protective! He knows you’re so rude and you’re such a prick, you have almost no likability but you’re absolutely beautiful, so exotic, so sexy. He wants you, and he doesn’t have much boundaries so he wont take a no. He always gets what he wants, he is the most beautiful powerful desirable God in the Greek Pantheon!
Apollo did just meet you a few days ago, you’re one of the few people that did not bend to his pure existence and fall for him. You were quite harsh and sharp, shocking him and that feeling… he is already hooked on it and he wants more. He’ll get more of you, rather you want it or not
Apollo does force you into things and he won’t even bother to tell you about what’s going on. He is quite narcissistic so his new-formed passionate obsessive love for you is mixing with his own self-centred mindset that he always weaves you into his choices, making you do as he wants
Apollo dislikes your attitude, it’s not regal or beautiful! He tries to fix your attitude so you’ll be even the more beautiful than you currently are. Even with your attitude, he’ll fight for your honour and he will not let anybody talk smack about you. He will enforce respect, even when you constantly disrespect everybody
Apollo may not be as violent and murderous as Poseidon but he isn’t as lenient as Hades. He will kill for you if absolutely needed and he enforces his superior position as the God of the Sun to ensure nobody will ever try take you away from him. You are his, you are his pet, you have his name marked across your heart!
Apollo is very clingy and affectionate, he follows you around all the time. He barely gives you time alone nor does he back down at your yelling and berating. He won’t leave you to be vulnerable! You need him to clean your back, you need him to escort you across Valhalla! Stop fighting him, he’s only here for you and your own good
Yes! Apollo has you meet his beloved older twin sister, Artemis and he wants you to bond with her since you mean as much to him as she does. He pushes Artemis to be patient with you and your snarky jadedness and since he is very tunnel-visioned, he believes you two are friends since you’re not trying to hurt her at all
Apollo is the hyperactive clingy affectionate needy Yandere, who unknowingly disrespects your wants and needs for his own wants. Though, loves you infinitely
Hades
Tumblr media
Hades is singlehandedly the most caring and gentle Yandere of these three magnificent Gods that he rarely forces you into stuff with him without your input. He deeply cares for your wants and needs and thoughts, he asks you for your opinions yet he just brushes past your steely belligerent attitude, to give you the love you deserve
Hades truly didn’t care how rocky and honestly awful his first meeting with you, just a minor God/Goddess, was. He only cared about this rapid beating in his chest your presence granted and your razor sharp cruel tongue induced to his mind that it doesn’t go away… is he a masochist? He can’t be… but, he wouldn’t mind you looking at him again
Hades gets it. He’s the King of the Underworld, he is the greatest King in Greece history and he has everything a person like you could want and all the more so come on. Down to Helheim with him, where he’ll spoil you rotten and make you his King/Queen. You’ll enjoy your brand new home, he’ll make sure you do… yet, he’ll never realise him kidnapping you is wrong
Hades gives love language through his multitude of presents. All very pricey and very luxurious, all materialistic objects that show his passionate deep unhealthy love for you. Look at all the hard work he’s putting into giving you all this, despite the fact you’re ungrateful and always tick him off. He’ll excuse it all since he loves you, even if it means he has to give a slap or two as punishment
Hades has the infamous; ‘collects things you once owned’ trait. He collects absolutely every materials and items you have made contact with as to absorb your mark on them. That hairbrush, it’s yours but he feels the hair to smell it. That soap bottle, it’s yours but he uses the shampoo to feel connected to you. He has a shrine of you, it’s that bad
Hades is not touchy because he is shy, he is too shy to be affectionate to you in public where Apollo has no fear and Poseidon’s very professional. Surprising, yes but it’s true. He holds your hand, even as you pull away and he kisses it and possessively rambles about how perfect you are, flawed but it can be fixed. He just goes on and on, he’s obsessed
Hades is also the least violent amongst the three. He doesn’t fear to stand up to threats harming his beloved and he will absolutely raise his Bident and drag his romantic rivals or enemies down to Helhelm for him to torment them… he just does it sparingly, in order to protect your view on him. He doesn’t want to hurt you…
Hades is the most emotionally-in tune possessive obsessed Yandere who has built his new world centring you and constantly excusing your actions, since he loves you infinitely

General Pokémon Villain HC’s PT. 1
((This is just a random list of head canons on these fellas and I’m not going to go by generation, chronologically))
Archie🌊
Despite his rough, intimidating stature, Archie’s a down to earth, chill guy. If anything, he’s the kind of person who doesn’t take life too seriously. Not too strict with rules, I mean he DOES incorporate some regulations, but for the most part he isn’t going to lose his mind if one of his Grunts does something stupid.
Speaking of Grunts, Archie’s relationship with his team would be that of Luffy’s crew. He cares about his teammates and will absolutely go up to bat for them and they respect the hell out him for it.
Shelley and Archie go way back. They are childhood friends that grew up in Lilycove up until Archie left for Kanto around his late-teens. As close as they are, it’s platonic, although Shelley has developed an interest in Archie, but he’s pretty dense about it. Shelley handles the more responsible aspects within Team Aqua and usually gives a final say whenever Archie might be incapable of doing so. She’s a lot more serious and tends to command more authority than Archie, but she never oversteps her bounds (he’s the leader after all).
Matt and Archie met each other a bit later on in life, probably when Archie was either 12-14. As a big, buff man, Matt tends to be perceived negatively by many people, thinking he’s a troublemaker with intent to hurt others. Archie never viewed Matt in that sense, rather seeing a sensitive and genuine side that holds a heart of gold that proves the many nefarious speculations wrong. As a result, Matt developed a fierce sense of loyalty to Archie, cementing him not just a boss that he’ll follow, but a bro for life.
The pirate inspiration came from the books that Archie used to read as a kid. Not really anything deep, but pirates have always fascinated Archie.
In relation to pirates, Archie lowkey looks to up Drake. Aesthetically anyway.
Archie does stupid shit all. the. time. It’s a miracle that he’s still alive. He could agree to a dare and won’t even question the details.
After the events with Kyogre, Archie had to take some time to reflect. Archie really thought that he was doing the world favor, or rather the Pokémon a favor, by awakening the Sea Basin legend, but totally didn’t expect the outcome. For sure, he felt like garbage and he took it hard. Of course, it doesn’t discredit the fact that Archie did do some bad things (stealing a submarine, Devon parts, a fucking orb) and he’s not the kind of person who makes BS excuses to save face (neither does Maxie). He’ll take responsibility and will figure his issues out with the help of Shelley, and possibly with May and Brandon. Heart was genuinely in the right place, but Archie was too blind to see red flags.
Surprisingly great with kids. You would think that a villain would despise children, but Archie doesn’t mind being around little scamps. He likes their energy and he can keep up pretty well. He’s like the big bro or chill uncle that a lot of kids can talk to, even though the adults think that he’s a bad influence.
Can hold his alcohol pretty well. Man can gulp down at least five to ten drinks before he’s completely cutoff. Hates wine though.
If he hadn’t formed Team Aqua, I imagine him being a super cool marine biologist teacher. His fields trips would be so awesome.
Pretty softhearted and gets emotional a little too easily. It doesn’t take much for this man to cry. Show him a cute baby Spheal learning how to swim? He’s sobbing in seconds.
Maxie🌋
Maxie is an awkward individual who’s so stern, so strict, that it’s almost comical. Everything he does, he does with a bullet pointed mindset. First this, then this, etc. Spontaneity does not apply to Maxie; he’s always prepared and unwilling to make any exceptions because, to him, that would be an inconvenience.
For all his sternness, Maxie can relent a little. He hates making mistakes and expects his team to perform at their absolute. However, he’s no perfectionist and understands that mistakes are always present. It’s a good thing that he’s exceedingly patient.
Tabitha met Maxie as the man was beginning to form Team Magma. He was drawn by Maxie’s keen eye for technology and his knowledge about geological discoveries, a topic that Tabitha took great interest while in college. Of course, Tabitha soon became the earliest member and stuck by Maxie’s side like glue. I would say that Tabitha might be a people pleaser as he does tend to do what Maxie tells him, although, here and there, Tabitha does harbor a bit of jealousy towards everyone praising the Magma boss a bit too much.
Courtney’s…..odd, to put it lightly. Her odd speech patterns coupled that with her robotic mannerisms has led many in Team Magma to wonder if she’s even human. She doesn’t particularly care about expanding landmass (personally) but rather harbors an unhealthy fixation on Maxie. His capabilities of a leader and how he carries himself draw Courtney in and she becomes super defensive against anyone to dares opposes Maxie’s ideals. Being analytical, Courtney studies Maxie’s abilities and feels certain that his way of thinking is the correct approach. Maxie doesn’t feel unnerved by Courtney’s presence and Courtney herself makes sure to not overstep bounds (disappointingly).
Maxie hates being touched, in an intimate sense. No hugging, but a handshake will suffice.
Doesn’t understand slang/texting language. This man is in his late thirties and texts so damn formally and refuses to learn any shortcut text forms. Everything has to be typed out fully, punctuation included.
It could be 80 degrees outside and Maxie will still wear his turtleneck hoodie combo. How this man does not get a heat stroke is beyond comprehension. He might be sweating bullets, but damn, I wish I had his stamina.
Not the best with his emotions, but not like Cyrus level of bad. He’s a blunt, direct individual and can’t really emote well. He’ll say he’s upset, but it’s more restrained, if anything.
Cyrus🪐
A sad, empty man who may very well be the grandfather of emo and nihilism’s best friend for life. Cyrus is a complicated person, so much so that he’s still talked about to this day. No one can quite read Cyrus clearly, not even his Admins.
Despite his impeccable leadership skills and prowess to hold his own in battle, Cyrus is a frail man. His physicality isn’t very strong and the lack of Vitamin D certainly shows as this dude is on his way to becoming a walking corpse. Needless to say, Cyrus doesn’t take very good care of himself and can pass out quite easily if left unattended.
Repressing emotions, as Cyrus strives to achieve, always has been a difficult feat. Although monotone and emotionless to a degree, Cyrus has slipped up and expressed other feelings that aren’t spite and frustration. He’s capable of feeling happiness but he pushes it down so much in order to feel numb. Most of his laughter are mumbled chuckles that are barely noticeable unless you have good ears.
Most of his Admins joined Team Galactic for their own reasons, but most common would be that they are all social outcasts. Cyrus appealed to them mainly for his personal outlook on life and similar experiences with being cast aside, which all three (Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter) could certainly relate to.
Charon joined Team Galactic after the events of Diamond and Pearl, so his reasoning for being there are mostly unknown. Deep down, Charon despises Cyrus and seeks to become leader himself, but no one on Team Galactic takes Charon too seriously.
Doesn’t stay in contact with his grandfather because he doesn’t want to involve him in his life due to the path he chose to pursue. One of the very few moments where Cyrus actually genuinely cares for another human being.
Speaking of his grandfather, he has tried multiple times to reach out to Cyrus, especially when he was little. The family shunned the grandfather for reasons unknown and contact being kept at a painful distance. Still, on the super rare occasions when Cyrus and his grandfather would reunite, it’s a pleasant time.
Cyrus doesn’t have too many hobbies, but tinkering with machinery has always been his passion. Give this man a busted up device and he’ll be showing off his skills proudly.
As a kid, he has tried to make friends, but everyone was put off by him and his strange behavior. Doesn’t help that his home life had its own challenges that made him feel like shit.
Parents weren’t physically abusive, but they were certainly dismissive and self-absorbed folk who would demean their child and shame them for their interests. They were emotionally and mentally abusive to Cyrus, the scars of which permanently traumatized this man for the rest of his life. Parents would pretend that he didn’t exist or sometimes didn’t acknowledge him when in front of company. This oftentimes led Cyrus to hole himself up in his bedroom to escape into his own world, full of machinery and quiet, where no one could bother him.
Cyrus just hurts. There’s not a lot of positivity with this character and, truthfully, he just needs to go to therapy.

how do you know you’re angelkin, i mean before I didn’t acknowledge kin but I definitely saw myself as something more divine but I didn’t acknowledged because I was scared to be wrong, too cocky or just plain disrespectful then one day I saw someone talking about being a demonkin and looked up realizing angelkin existed too!
Do I just label myself as one now? Could I be your 🐏🕊️anon? Too (*´v`)
I hope this wasnt sent too long ago, i dunno if my asks are working properly but YES YOU CAN BE MY ANON 🫶🏻 you can skip the parts of this that you think aren't useful to you, I just tend to use too many words when explaining myself 😭 and this is a topic that's very dear to me, especially the part about feeling like your identity's disrespectful.
Anyways - I think I found out in the cliché way, if you can call it that. Feeling like I wasn't human (ever since I was a kid), feeling like I was supposed to fly and getting frustrated that I couldn't. Also getting very mad at myself for being scared of heights, because it simply felt wrong.
How I found out:
I used to identify as a winged therian (i went from a butterfly to a dove and more), because my first shifts mainly consisted of vague phantom wings and a weird feeling that my body was lighter and floating. The thing is, I became aware of my divinity when I almost vividly remembered the gods I served. It felt like they were calling out to me because I was ready to awaken, and I did not reject their signs, because I always knew deep down that I was protected by higher beings - and that, even when I thought I was an animal, it always felt mystical and holy. An immortal owl, a butterfly who could fly a little too high for it to be realistic, a dove meant to spread peace and protect creatures. Do you see what I mean?
-> This is definitely very personal. I also understand that it can be of little help to questioning angels who don't worship any gods; however, as some in the community have said, you ARE a certain creature as long as you can say, for sure, that you identify as it. If you can look at yourself in the mirror and say you're an angel, that's enough. You dont have to rush to discover all the details about your memories, your past or your home.
About not acknowledging a kintype because it feels morally wrong:
Yeah, it took me a while to get rid of that mindset. But personally, for me, the problem was the religious settings in which I grew up in; they weren't strict, but even so, the way I had to approach Christianity wasn't healthy. So even if I strayed from it with little guilt, it made me feel like I wasn't allowed to have beliefs of my own. I felt a connection with gods that nobody around me worshipped, gods that had their own rules, their own followers and servants; I realized no one could tell me that my beliefs were wrong. They were not, because only I knew how they worked, and I wasn't going to give them up. You, too, are allowed to label yourself as an angel according to your beliefs and definitions of an angel. Things have changed; some modern sources view angels as spiritual guides and beings of all kind, not just servants of a god.
And if you're worried about being "cocky"... well. That basically implies that you're worried about how others might perceive you, but you know that your identity isn't about claiming superiority, right? If you know you don't want to appear cocky, it's clear that you don't mean to be. You can't control how people interpret your intentions, but you shouldn't let that keep you from accepting yourself as you are.
Being angelkin can be controversial. But that's because some people are close-minded, and that's not our fault.

The 9th House: Spirituality, Religion, Rituals
Part 1: Aries - Virgo
Tumblr media
Aries in the 9th house can be impulsive and righteous with their beliefs. They won't hesitate to fight for them. At times this may indicate an opinionated or zealous person, but Aries in this House may also easily get impatient or burn through beliefs and causes. Spirituality may be focused on what works for the self or one's desires. They can be adaptable and open-minded in some ideological and academic realms - their passion and fiery nature geared towards learning and teaching. Introspection can be a complex subject for them, tending to either lack it or have an overabundance of it. Aries in the 9th may find empowerment through higher education, traveling, teaching, studying, religion, or through a belief system. They likely aren't creatures of habit or strict ritual, and they may get a thrill out of learning about how other's tick, their culture, their values. Some with this placement may also be competitive with their beliefs or may have a short-fuse in philosophical debates and discussions. This is the warrior in the house of theory, knowledge, and religion and they are ready to play that role.
Taurus in the 9th House may be big on "believe it when I see it." They can be highly realistic and may be stubborn with their ideals and philosophies. Taurus in the 9th may have a strong skeptical side. They may also have a close connection to nature, finding inspiration or value in it, or even spirituality. Despite a practical or rigid approach to ethics, they can be very patient and willing to listen or at least be level-headed when dealing with others' beliefs. This placement can easily fall into materialism or greed, valuing hard work, loyalty, and reliability but also pleasure, reward, and security of the self. They may want the status of certain degrees or schools, or be most interested in the fashion, food, the tangible aspects of a culture or place. Their spiritual world and their hunger for knowledge is strongly connected to the physical world. Taurus is a routine sign that craves comfort, from this they can find it challenging to get into a different mindset or set of rules in terms of beliefs. They may crave belief systems that have a lot of structure. This sign can also be about beauty in life and peaceful ideologies.
Gemini in the 9th House can be incredibly curious and open-minded in the areas this house influences. They were likely the kid who always asked a million questions in school or church. But they can also be argumentative or opinionated about their beliefs. They may love a good debate, but that can sometimes go overboard into heated arguments. While Aries may act as a warrior or crusader for their beliefs, Gemini can also put up a fight for their ideals, especially via arguing. Gemini in the 9th can also have a talent for spreading the word, teaching, and persuading others to see their side of things or to follow different ethics. This placement may love to try new practices or rituals for the fun of it or for educational purposes. Someone with this placement who is very devoted to a faith or philosophy may still be open to new ideas or to learning about others spirituality or values, even if they are vocal about theirs being the "right one" or "best one". This placement could also struggle with the depth and focus this house sometimes demands. The 9th House is of long-standing vision and goals, study, theory, bettering the self or expanding horizons, abstract or very tangible beliefs and consequences. Introspection, patience, focus, depth, possibly planning or at least seeing the big picture work well in the 9th House's sphere. Gemini is a scattered, fast-paced, impatient, possibly shallow sign that is focused on the daily gossip, facts, or problems. Gemini in the 9th can swing back and forth from conformity to questioning. They may have a great love/hate relationship with things like higher learning, the media, storytelling, and long-distance traveling or foreign affairs. Overly simple beliefs or beliefs that can encompass a lot of variety and change may make sense to them.
Cancer in the 9th House may take things personally easily. This sign indicates a very deep and emotional connection to beliefs, spirituality, and growth. They may be very private about their beliefs. They can be loyal to their ideals and may have strong rooted beliefs that come from traditions or parents. They may also insist that their family should follow their same ethics. Cancer in the 9th may feel most at home with beliefs that are more understanding or that can stir emotion. Beliefs that promote introspection, looking to the past or at heritage are connected to them. They may be protective over their beliefs or those who share their values. Beliefs that can give them security, reassurance, and structure are likely of interest to them. Religion or a certain philosophy may encourage them to be more kind, compassionate, giving, or forgiving. Their spirituality can be a great source for inspiration. Cancer in the 9th may not long for faraway travels and may not desire the boasting rights of going to an impressive university. Cancer in the 9th finds a lot of growth and fulfillment from their family, community, or through more heart-to-heart relationships.
Leo in the 9th can be passionate about their beliefs. They may also be leaders in some form when it comes to their ideals or spirituality. Maybe this is seen by them inventing new and popular rituals or through preaching and teaching. They can certainly have pastor, priestess, or cult leader vibes. They may also act as a role-model by following their beliefs faithfully and/or hopefully. Leo in this house can be either open-minded or closed-minded with their beliefs, but whichever approach they take they are likely to make this clearly known. Leo in the 9th House may be outgoing and brave about their values or spirituality, or it may be a distinct part of their personality. Even without a personal planet in this house, Leo creates an atmosphere that encourages powerful and strong beliefs, ethics, or meaning. Those with this placement might find a lot of confidence through their philosophies on life, relationships, and humanity in some form. Feeling stable and inspired by their beliefs, through the knowledge they take in, or through their travels and exploration is important to them. Not feeling secure or feeling dull here can be a great source of struggle or pain. This placement might also find empowerment through beliefs or the exploration and learning about beliefs, culture, foreign affairs, and the world. The self-centered and stubborn part of Leo can make them blind at times to certain teachings. They may also be too focused on the big picture of things; they may struggle with details and important steps of a belief system. Getting carried away or easily disillusioned with beliefs may happen. They may need to be careful about becoming too biased, zealous, self-righteous, or power hungry in this area of life. This sign is very generous, and this may be someone who helps and takes impactful action due to their beliefs.
Virgo in the 9th House can be a studious placement that thrives in higher education or an intellectually challenging or stimulating environment. They can have a special devotion and interest or even obsession towards religion, spirituality, or philosophy. Their patience, humility, and need to help or be useful may be compatible with many beliefs and be a virtue in their practices. Virgo's need to always be improving may manifest in self-help verbiage and beliefs or be a source of meaning and inspiration for them. However Virgo's perfectionism and judgment may distance themselves from their spirituality or distract them from what they truly enjoy and/or believe in. Virgo in the 9th house can manifest as being highly critical of their beliefs and others. They may feel like they need to prove themselves through tasks, study, or sacrifice. They can be highly habitual and routine in their beliefs, traditions, or rituals. Virgo's overthinking may cause moments of frustration, misunderstanding, or confusion surrounding their own beliefs. They may easily swing from doubt to dutiful. Their wired mind may lead to unease, nervousness, or existential crises. But through spirituality or following an ethic code this placement may find a lot of depth, reward, and contentment. They need a sense of moral stability and a way to constantly understand and analyze the world. They may be cautious and practical when it comes to travel and worldly themes. But they can also be adaptable and clever in that area. Their curious yet grounded traits can lead the way in the 9th House.

reading Dune for the first time and i've always kind of known this but there's something so unrestrained and free about the way older books are written. so much of it goes against traditinal writing advice and the current book market.
yes you could say "that's because most of them were written on typewriter in one draft and only lightly glanced over by an editor" (i don't think this is wholly true btw but i think there probably some truth in publishing/editing being laxer back then) but i think it's also good to think that in the end, there are no strict rules in writing.
right from the start we already know paul is the chosen one; there is no mystery or reveal.
it throws you straight into the world and doesn't really explain what any of the jargon means.
it hops freely between characters' minds (omniscient pov, which i feel like is rarer to see nowadays because i suspect publishers fear it being confusing).
sure, the second chapter is just the bad guys sitting around and gloating about their deeds and discussing the politics of this world, why not.
it casually states who the traitor in the Atreides ranks is, again without mystery or suspense.
there is an abundant use of exclamation marks. it uses a lot of filter words ("he experienced a sudden anger" vs "he was suddenly angry").
i think it's all very interesting to study and think about, both in terms of how language and the mindset of publishing have shifted over time, and it's also freeing to know and have the confirmation that you can do whatever you want in your book. i think writing advice and rules can be useful for beginners, but at some point you have to realize you can literally just do whatever, as long as it works for your book.

The cards I pulled for you are:
King of Swords, Judgement, 6 of Swords
Tumblr media
So one of the beliefs/patterns/habits you need to let go of to face the new chapters in your life by 2025 has to do with this "head over heart" rigid mindset. Now this can be self-imposed or brought about as a coping mechanism, pick and choose which interpretation resonates with you the most.
Now it doesn't mean that you should abandon all forms of discipline, it's more of a suggestion to learn to flow with the unexpected flow of life. You, of all people, know that you can't control everything and everyone according to exactly how you want your life to operate, thank free will and the possibility of the unknown for that.
So that means, you know that the only thing in your life that you truly have control over is yourself and how you respond to whatever life throws at you. You are also aware that you, like every human being alive, have bouts of unpredictable happenstances. So, shouldn't you allow yourself some grace and compassion when things don't follow through your life by your design?
There's nothing wrong with having rules and discipline my dear. But being too strict with things and people outside your control is borderline concerning, don't you think so too?
You are aware that every human being alive is living by varying belief systems and values, potentially differing from yours. It doesn't mean that the other person is wrong, it also doesn't mean that you're always right. It's just that, in this world, two different truths can both exist at the same time.
This concept might be new to you so let me give a bit of example.
Let's say you were dating someone you absolutely love and want to spend the rest of your life with. You do everything you can to encourage them to work hard and be ambitious to achieve their dreams. So you kept pushing and encouraging them, supporting them in any way you could. You just want to be the best supportive partner for them. You're so excited for them to fulfill their childhood dream!
But, down the road, one day, they opened up to you and said that they can't take it anymore and were adamant in breaking up with you. They'd say that you're not really listening to what they really feel and you're acting more of a parent than a partner and they just couldn't take it anymore.
Whiplashed by the turn of events, you couldn't understand what happened. What pushed them to reach this decision? Where did they stray off to? What did they realize along the way that made them think that?
Then you'd start overthinking: What did you do wrong?
Now this is almost an all too familiar scenario, so let's get into the other person's POV.
I opened up about my silly childhood dreams but I know it's too far-fetched to become reality, and I'm content as I am right now with my partner (YOU). I don't have the skills to make it in this industry and yeah, it comes with perks but I'm happy where I am. But it seems that they(YOU) mistook it as a goal in my life, so they(YOU) started to push me to do it. It's so sweet that they(YOU) are so encouraging with my silly dreams until they're(YOU) taking it too far. Now they(YOU) keep nagging me to sign up for this class and do those things, and keep berating me about my current progress. Why can't they(YOU) see that it's just one of those silly kid dreams that seems fun at the time, but I don't really wanna pursue this as a goal in life? Now they(YOU) get mad for me not showing up to do anything to this "kid dream", it's getting out of hand. They're(YOU) assuming that this silly fantasy is what I wanted in life, but they're not actually listening to what I have to say. This is seriously getting out of hand now. I though opening up about this kid fantasy would just be like those small talks that kids do in preschool when asked what do they wanna do when they go up and some kid in class would say they wanna be an astronaut because their costume looks cool. But it seems that partner(YOU) kept assuming that I'm serious about it. No, I'm not. But every time I opened up about what I really feel, they(YOU) always dismiss my feelings by saying "Ooohh you're just saying this because you're tired/ you haven't made much progress yet. You'll get over it." No, I'm not just tired of putting efforts on a silly fantasy, I'm tired of them(YOU) not listening to me and smothering me like a child. I'm their(YOU) partner, not their child/project. I seriously can't take it anymore. I've reached my limit. I can't take it anymore. I'm breaking up with them.
So you see, both of you mean well, but what both of you lacked were mutual comprehension and open communication.
This is what I meant when I mentioned that you are called to let go of control because let's face it, you have a tendency to behave like someone's parent, rather than be their friend.
And doing right by those you love and showing up for them in your own love language is great for you. But you also need to be aware of this crucial thing:
No matter how genuine and intense your love is for someone, people tend to appreciate that effort and sincerity in their own preferred love language.
So imposing YOUR love language on someone else will likely be misunderstood and unappreciated because you showed love in a way that YOU wanted it to be expressed. But you might have the tendency to forget that other people might prefer various love languages different from yours.
It doesn't mean that you loved them less, there was just a bit of... mistranslation in the form of love given. So, with the first card, you are called to let go of this mindset that "Everything thinks and has the same values as me" because let's face it, they don't.
I'm sorry with how harsh the first card reading is but as always, I'm just a interpreter and messenger in readings like that. Feel free to not claim it if you don't resonate. Just like everyone, you too have free will, never forget that. Okay?
So the next card is suggesting that you let go of this hyper awareness and over-analyzing habits. This includes reading between the lines and hiding meaning in every little thing that inconvenienced you.
It's giving, making "everything into a sign that ..(insert worst case scenario) is gonna happen." My dear, please, for your own sanity, stop catastrophizing everything.
You are not in danger. No one is out to get you. Not everyone is an enemy. You are not the villain in everyone's eyes. You are safe to exist as you are. No one is judging you. Okay? Give yourself some grace and compassion please. Stop worrying about things you can't control. Stop maladaptive daydreaming of worst case scenarios when something goes out of your plan. I repeat, YOU ARE NOT IN DANGER. Calm down and take it easy, okay?
Even if things fall apart, you will make it out alive and it will be in your favor. It's because the more you catastrophize, the more you tend to hyper-focus on everything going wrong, while you disregard everything that's going right. So please, for the sake of your sanity, chill the fudge down... Go take a solo trip for your sanity. You need a freaking vacation from your overthinking. Do yourself some good and treat yourself. You deserve it.
Last thing you are called to let go off is your cut-off game. TBH this was the loudest message from your last card.
Just because they've inconvenience you because they don't know exactly how you wanted things to turn out without you giving them clear instructions, it doesn't give you the right to berate them.
It seems that you're quick to lose your temper and refuse all logic beyond your comprehension. So with the last card, it seems that you're called to learn to see things in different perspectives and to learn to speak and communicate with compassion.
Now they are multiple videos on YouTube about it, so just pick and choose which one you feel called to watch and take notes of.

Channeled song for you is:
8th random shuffle from my dice throw
Last Intuitive Message to end this reading:
Now this song, I found it quite interesting because it seems that this is your Future Self saying good bye to the old you. It's like a revenge glow-up theme song for you.
I doesn't feel like it someone you've been lowkey controlling over that's sending this song. Though some lines tend to suggest it does. But overall, the song is like a glow-up villain era theme song for you~
It's like your Future Self is at that time of your life where you've matured and evolved in a way that makes you happy and proud of your own character development.

Do you think villain Yoichi could’ve ever become a thing?
maybe an au where kudou never came and eventually Yoichi gave into afo?
Or maybe a scenario where Afo killed kudou instead of Yoichi in the sewer?
honestly? I don't think so.
in the case where no one came for him and he gave in I don't think he'll ever truly believe in afo's ideals nor want to take on a villain persona. I'll think he'll just say whatever afo wanted to hear, even if it meant saying things he hated to say, because it was better than being put back in the vault. his resistance against afo would've stopped and I imagine after being released by afo from the vault he would've been very depressed shortly afterwards. not only from having to deal with the trauma of being locked in a vault, but in also how no one can to save him and his belief that heroes always come in and save the day would've been broken.
I think he would still believe in doing good and helping others as a whole, but being faced with a reality that the comics he read and clung onto for comfort were wrong and that there's nothing he can do but stand by and watch his brother take over everything in a brutal fashion, yoichi wouldn't be in the best mindset. he'll stand next to afo, maybe afo will ask him for his thoughts about certain plans on occasion, but nothing more. it's hard enough to watch it happen, he couldn't bear being an active participant. a very unhappy life for poor yoichi.
afo seemed content with having yoichi be on the sidelines while he went and started gaining more power. so I don't think he would force yoichi to act like a full on villain. just having him next to him without resistance would be enough. hearing yoichi admit he was wrong would make him happy.
in the case where afo kills kudou in the sewers and takes yoichi back I think things would've been a lot worse for yoichi and their relationship as a whole. afo would've been far more strict and controlling with yoichi, he lost him once he's not losing him again. and I think there would be a whole lot more resentment on yoichi's part as afo killed one of the first friends he ever made right in front of him with zero remorse. besides yoichi finally got a taste of what it's like to live outside of afo's control and got to meet people who were passionate about stopping him, I think he would resist afo a lot more here. so no villain yoichi in this case either.
maybe if somehow yoichi's faith in kudou and bruce was broken when he was out there because of some incident that happened could've made him run further in his brothers arms and rethink about his stance on certain things? idk what that would look like, but just throwing it out there.
but I still think villain yoichi is a fun thing to explore in fic, and I like to think of scenarios where yoichi and afo both run the cult of followers afo built up. both can be charming in their own way and it would be fun to see how the dynamic plays between both brothers as they co-rule and see how their followers perceive them.

Good morning.
As we return to Ordinary Time, this year, we have one more solemnity to celebrate than usual. June 29th is the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. In other parts of the world, this is a Holy Day of Obligation… but in the United States, it's only one this year because it happened to rotate around to a Sunday without being stomped by another, higher-priority celebration.
And what a fascinating pair of saints to lump into a single feast day. I've written at length about Peter and his quirks: his tendency, in his zeal, to bite off more than he can chew, and to swerve this way and that in overcorrection when told that he's gotten things wrong.
But I've written much less about Paul. He's a fascinating figure in a different way: once a zealot who was running around putting early Christians to death for their preaching, then, suddenly, a zealot for the Kingdom instead. His encounter with Jesus on the Road to Damascus is so famous as to have made that road into an idiom in its own right, and is – as far as I can remember, and very unlike Peter – the only notable example of Paul changing his mind about anything at all.
Where Peter reached beyond his grasp for grand gestures, Paul pursued goals with dogged determination. Where Peter was quick to take correction, Paul was stubborn in his beliefs.
As you might expect from two extreme personalities like this, with such different tendencies… these two giants of the early Christian community – these two saints – sometimes disagreed publicly and bitterly.
The details of these disagreements are muddled, now, almost 2000 years after they happened, thanks in part to their successors wanting to give both of them sufficient face. Paul's own letters on the topic are difficult to reconcile with Luke's attempt in the 80s AD (the "Acts of the Apostles") at piecing together the historical record.
But it's certain that, at minimum, there was some controversy between them over the famous issue of what relationship non-Jewish Christians were to have with the Sinai covenant. Paul was, from the moment of his miraculous conversion, convinced by his own experience that the covenant model – morality on strict and comprehensive rules of behavior – was too heavy a burden to carry, and that the Gentiles should not be expected to take it up. In contrast (at least, according to Paul) Peter – who probably remembered Jesus describing his mission as "not to abolish, but to fulfill" – was reluctant to be seen interacting with Gentiles until the Spirit's gentle correction of that error led him to Cornelius's house.
In the end, Peter took the lesson of Cornelius to heart and used his authority to legitimize non-Jewish Christianity, so we could say that Paul ultimately "won" that argument. But that stubbornness wasn't always an asset to Paul; after all, this is also the man who, in an attempt to heal divisions between Corinthian Christians in how they worship, infamously spent half a chapter of the letter painfully trying to construct a religious argument for why women should (and men shouldn't) wear hats. Paul knew that this tetchy sort of rulemaking was counterproductive – that was the cornerstone of his message! – and yet he repeatedly fell back into this type of behavior, because he's the kind of person who changes his mind only very reluctantly and at great effort, and before the scales fell from his eyes, tetchy doctrine had been the only sort of spirituality that he knew.
And yet, he was a saint.
Not just a saint, but an honorary apostle, as important to the early spread of Jesus's message as any of the Eleven who had made up Jesus's inner circle back in the Gospels.
Not just an honorary apostle, but a martyr…. and just like Peter managed one last dramatic gesture with his famous decision to be crucified upside-down (so as not to upstage Jesus), Paul was also himself to the end, using his legalistic mindset to leverage "I'm a Roman citizen" into a quieter (and much less painful) martyrdom by beheading.
That imperfection, that quirkiness? And the differences between their quirks? Those should be a great comfort to us, as we re-enter Ordinary Time and focus on bringing the Kingdom into our daily lives.
Peter and Paul were given, after all, the same honor as Abraham and Jacob: God had something so important for them to do that he renamed them in honor of it. And what we would consider their imperfections turned out to be an asset for them when it really mattered; Paul's stubbornness defended the Gentile Christians of Antioch so that Peter had time to do one of his characteristically enthusiastic course-corrections on the topic.
Paul himself, in that same letter to Corinth where he made a fool of himself over hats, put it this way: what would be the point of a body where every body part was the same? What would be the point of a Kingdom where everyone in it was the same? We're not asked to be perfect; that's too high a bar, one even Peter and Paul didn't reach. No, what's important is the love… and expressing it in your particular way, as hard as you can do it and as far as you can go.
That's a sustainable goal. It's the goal Jesus tried to teach Peter after the Resurrection, when he asked for Peter's unconditional "ἀγάπη", but (when Peter tacitly admitted he couldn't give that) accepted his brotherly "φιλία" instead. It's the "race" Paul repeatedly wrote about running, where the important part was completing it at all... a race he eventually did complete.
It's a goal we, too, can aim for, day by day, in our long interregnum between the Spirit's coming and the Son's return.
Best wishes and blessings to you and yours.

Alter: Atlas
I’ve started reading the Quran. Our alter Shai is Muslim and I thought it would be a good place to start my own journey into spirituality. I hold a lot of our religious trauma and felt the bible was too triggering to start off with. We are also Navajo native and I’ve been in the process of connecting with elders from the Navajo Arizona reservation to learn more about our spiritual history there. There’s such a vast array of spirituality’s to explore and it can be a bit overwhelming having so many options, however it’s comforting to know that the religion we grew up in isn’t our only option and that many alters in our system follow different spiritual paths. We grew up in an evangelical Christian household and our dad was a pastor at a local church, so I have some reluctance to exploring religion and spirituality myself. However, I’ve noticed how beneficial spirituality has been for our co-hosts and I want to start my own journey into figuring out what my own beliefs are. Our co-hosts are Shai, Morgan, Daniel and Mia and they all follow something different. I haven’t subscribed to any one belief as of right now and I’m honestly not going into my journey with that mindset. Strict labels to religion have always felt off to me as I believe that spirituality and belief is fluid and ever changing and, in my experience, labeling my spirituality can feel like a box that I’m trapped into. We also have religious OCD stemming from our religious trauma and when I label my beliefs, it can feel like I’m trapped into religious observance that doesn’t always feel right or beneficial to me. I don’t want to speak for the others in our system, but for others it seems like labeling their beliefs can help them understand their beliefs and find an identity in it. I admire that, however for me it can be especially triggering. In evangelicalism there is a lot of literalism with God and the bible and absolute truths and life rules to follow and since I came out of dormancy and started my own journey, that hasn’t been my experience with my understanding of my beliefs and spirituality. I was recently in dormancy for about 11 years and was last host in 2014. A lot has changed since then. We have gone no contact with our parents since then which has given me the opportunity to explore my faith without the pressures of my family and the church. I don’t think this exploration would have been possible for me if we were still in contact with our family. I’m looking forward to where this journey leads me and to being able to share it with all of you.

How to Become the Best Teacher
“I want to be the kind of teacher students never forget... but how?”
If you’ve ever asked yourself that question, you’re not alone. Whether you're a new teacher trying to find your footing or a seasoned educator looking to grow, we all want the same thing: to make a real impact. But let’s be honest teaching isn’t as simple as standing in front of a class and delivering information. You’ve got different learning styles, disruptive students, tired days, and endless paperwork. And still, somehow, you’re expected to inspire young minds every day. So how do you rise above the chaos and become the kind of teacher students talk about years later with gratitude in their voices? That’s what this post is all about. We’ll dig into practical, experience-backed strategies that go beyond the textbook. I’ll also share some stories from my own 10+ years in the classroom—the wins, the fails, and everything in between. Let’s get into it.
1. Start with why: What does it mean to be “the best”?
Before we jump into techniques and tips, let’s define what we’re aiming for. Being “the best teacher” doesn’t mean being perfect. It’s not about always having the right answer or being loved by every student. To me, being the best teacher means: Creating a space where students feel safe, seen, and supported Making learning enjoyable and meaningful Helping students grow—not just academically, but as people Reflecting constantly and striving to improve Simon Sinek, in his book Start with Why, explains that people are driven by purpose, not processes. The best teachers teach why before how. That mindset changes everything.
2. Build relationships first—learning follows
“Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” – John C. Maxwell This quote hit home during my third year of teaching. I had a brilliant lesson planned on descriptive writing, but half the class wasn’t paying attention. Why? Because I had focused so much on curriculum delivery that I had ignored the humans in front of me. From that day on, I made a small but powerful shift: every Monday morning, I’d start class by just talking to my students. No grammar drills. Just check-ins, stories, or a fun question like, “If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?” Here’s what happened: they started listening more. Participating more. Smiling more. Tips to build strong student relationships: Learn names quickly – and use them often. Listen actively – when students talk, give them your full attention. Celebrate small wins – even “you didn’t give up!” goes a long way. Be consistent – students need to know they can rely on you.
3. Master the art of classroom management—without becoming a tyrant
Classroom management isn’t about being strict—it’s about being clear and fair. You can be the kindest teacher in the school, but if your classroom feels chaotic, no one learns. One of the biggest lessons I learned early on? Consistency beats charisma. I once let a student off the hook for arriving late because he was charming. Word spread, and suddenly, half the class started showing up late. That was on me. Effective classroom management strategies: Set expectations early and revisit them often. Don’t wait for problems to arise. Use routines – they give students structure and save you time. Be fair and firm. If a rule applies to one, it applies to all. Avoid power struggles. Keep your cool. If needed, talk privately. 📚 Research by Robert Marzano shows that effective classroom management is one of the top factors influencing student achievement. It’s not about control—it’s about creating a learning-focused environment.
4. Make your lessons unforgettable
Let’s face it—students today have more distractions than ever. So how do you compete with phones, YouTube, and short attention spans? You don’t. You outsmart them. You make your lessons so engaging that they want to pay attention. Strategies for engaging lessons: Start with a hook. A surprising fact, story, or image can grab attention fast. Make it interactive. Think pair work, role play, debates, or games. Connect to real life. Show how your lesson matters outside the classroom. Use storytelling. Even in math or science, stories stick. Switch it up. Vary your activities to cater to different learners (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). ✨ Real-life example: In a lesson on passive voice, I once turned the classroom into a “crime scene investigation.” Students had to write passive sentences like “The window was broken by an unknown suspect.” The room buzzed with excitement—and the grammar stuck.
5. Keep learning—and show your students you are
Great teachers are lifelong learners. Period. Your growth inspires theirs. Whenever I attend a workshop or read a new teaching book, I tell my students. Why? Because I want them to see that learning never stops—even for teachers. A few ways to keep growing: Read widely. Try Teach Like a Champion by Doug Lemov or The Courage to Teach by Parker Palmer. Join teacher communities. Facebook groups, Reddit forums, or local meetups can be goldmines. Observe others. Peer observation isn’t just for trainees—it’s a mirror we all need. Try new tech. EdTech tools like Kahoot!, Padlet, or Canva can boost engagement. 🧠 According to the OECD, teachers who engage in professional development have higher job satisfaction and student achievement. But also—don’t overwhelm yourself. Pick one area to focus on at a time.
6. Teach the whole child, not just the subject
You’re not just teaching English or Science. You’re teaching humans. Many students walk into your classroom carrying invisible backpacks full of stress, trauma, or self-doubt. The best teachers notice this—and respond with empathy. One of my students, Priya, barely spoke in class. But when I asked her to help organize a class activity, she lit up. That moment opened a door. Later, she told me, “I always thought I wasn’t smart enough. But you helped me feel like I matter.” Let’s never underestimate that power. Ways to support students beyond academics: Be approachable. Let them know you’re there for more than just grades. Teach SEL (Social-Emotional Learning). Skills like empathy, resilience, and self-regulation are just as important. Include mindfulness or reflection activities. Refer students to counselors when needed. It’s not all on you.
7. Reflect, refine, repeat
No teacher gets it all right all the time. And that’s okay. But the best teachers? They reflect constantly. After every lesson, ask yourself: What worked? What didn’t? What can I tweak next time? Keep a small teaching journal or even voice-record your thoughts. Those reflections are gold for long-term growth. I still cringe when I remember a grammar class where I confused my own explanation of past perfect. But instead of beating myself up, I noted it down, researched better examples, and nailed it the next time. That’s growth.
8. Prioritize self-care—because burnout helps no one
Let’s be real: teaching can drain you. Between lesson planning, grading, and emotional labor, it’s easy to forget you’re human too. But you can’t pour from an empty cup. A tired, overwhelmed teacher can’t be their best—no matter how passionate they are. Self-care tips for teachers: Set boundaries. Stop checking school emails at midnight. Take breaks. Even five minutes of deep breathing can reset your brain. Celebrate progress. Keep a “success folder” of kind notes from students or parents. Stay connected. Talk to other teachers. You’re not alone. 📊 A 2019 study in the journal "Teaching and Teacher Education" found that teacher burnout directly affects student engagement. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish—it’s smart.
9. Embrace feedback—even when it stings
Early in my career, a student wrote on a feedback form: “You explain well, but sometimes you talk too fast.” Ouch. But they were right. That comment made me slow down, check for understanding more often, and become a better communicator. How to handle feedback well: Ask for it regularly. Use anonymous surveys or informal chats. Don’t take it personally. It’s about your teaching, not your worth. Look for patterns. One comment may be random; three are a sign. Act on it. Small changes can have big effects.
10. Stay inspired—because passion is contagious
There will be hard days. Days when nothing goes right. Days when you wonder if you’re even making a difference. That’s when you need to remember your why. Revisit old thank-you notes. Watch a TED Talk on education. Talk to a mentor. Reflect on the impact you have made. Because you are making a difference. Even when you can’t see it. I’ll never forget when an old student emailed me years later and said, “You were the first person who believed I could be a writer. Now I’m in college, studying journalism.” That’s why we do this.
Final Thoughts: So, How Do You Actually Become the Best Teacher?
Not by having all the answers. Not by being a superhero. But by showing up—fully, authentically, and consistently. By building relationships. By keeping your lessons engaging. By continuing to learn, reflect, and care. By remembering that behind every test score is a young person trying to find their way. So here’s your challenge: This week, pick one area from this post to focus on. Maybe it’s connecting more deeply with students. Maybe it’s refining your classroom management. Maybe it’s taking that overdue break. Whatever it is—start small. Stay consistent. And keep going. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to care deeply and try intentionally. And that, my friend, is the real secret to becoming the best teacher. routines & different colored lenses.
while trying to navigate the world thru this new lens of ADHD and mental health recovery, something i want to make a staple in my daily routine is writing. just 10 minutes a day even, with no need to even be logical - just write. ideas can be workshopped and fine tuned at a later time, when i am mentally capable of developing them further.
journals, essays and and memoir alike can be therapeutic tools; unleashing thoughts otherwise unlocked. when the timing is right, the words flow out of me but until the right time comes, i compress those thoughts like a safe, behind lock and key.
i’m guilty of placing hardcore judgement on the former planner girls of youtube, allowing no white space in their day and having strict to do’s with set time limits composing their morning routine. it always comes off as so unnatural to me and like anything i view as unnatural, just rubs me the wrong way. in my mind, routines should be mindless and just happen. however, nothing has been happening. nothing. i am no better than anyone, for my “anything goes” mindset has only held me back thus far. so, its time to change that. its time to shift mindsets and approach things differently, thru a different lens.
i love notebooks and papers and pens. i love my hot pink filofax, filling it with my plans and thought dumps alike. i love checking off a to do list. and i (secretly at times) crave and thrive on structure. what’s wrong with creating a satisfying list i can complete each morning, to kick my day off in a way that best speaks to me and my needs for self confidence and success. my journalings don’t have to be complete thoughts. in fact, thats kind of the whole point. outputting raw emotion, both to get it out of my system and to have idea’s to be further developed when the feeling strikes. like my bank of ideas, so i don’t have to search for one in my clouded mind. as silly as it is, simply holding and writing in that perfect hot pink filofax makes me feel both happy and accomplished. writing my goals fills me with optimism. while i can be overly ambitious with to do;s / tasks at times, seeing them written out in front of me helps me keep my goals realistic and maintainable within the time i’ve alloted.
maybe one day i will change my morning writing goal to be more structured and rigid, perhaps with a word minimum? when i reach the point of having enough material i need to actually organize it like a book, attempt to tackle edits, etc i want to approach this project like an actual work that i could one day publish. i can see that being a very positive use of more structured independent work. but that’s not now, and that’s losing my point.
the whole point in taking time away from work is to mentally recover from a major mental breakdown of depression, anxiety and panic while also learning how to properly cope with this newly diagnosed adhd. what i was doing before wasn’t working for me. i crave structure, yet have none. the whole point in taking this time is to learn and achieve a maintainable way of life. i now have diagnosed and medically treated adhd. it makes sense for me to need a to do list in the morning, just to get up out of bed and moving, period. it makes sense. and its what i need. so i have to run with that. it’s not silly or taboo and even if it were, does anyone actually care? no. no i need to stop living my life, worrying how my every action could potentially be viewed by someone else.
i also know i need to start my day by consuming positive versus negative content first thing in the morning. this one feels like a compromise because it is a compromise. i want to be that person who doesn’t touch their phone until their morning routine is complete, whatever that routine consists of. but that feels too strict and rigid, to the point where i don’t do it. i love being a rule follower but when its self imposed rules that are too strict and seemingly don’t really serve a purpose, i’m the first to cave, almost instantly. lifting that restricton and shifting my mindset feels like a more sustainable shift that really places a choice on myself - to consume content that is going to be healthy for my mind, to get me ready to start my day. whether that be reading a book, an article, the news, weather….just anything that isn’t mindlessly scrolling social media with no purpose, or internet sleuthing for things that theres honestly no answers to even find so i just piece together this false narrative that explains the finding, upsets me to a unsettling degree, and holds no degree of truth in the first place. that’s clearly toxic, and consuming tuch toxins first thing in the morning only sets me up for a day filled with toxic habits and behaviors, derailing whatever progress i have managed to make.
i’m rambling now. but i’m ready to tackle sunday. i’m ready to tackle this week. and i’m ready to re teach my brain, so healthy habits and coping skills are already naturally engrained in my life, not something i am constantly fighting uphill to achieve.

Hi! I love your analysis on the characters because you always seem nice and open minded and not the kind of "I'm right, you are wrong", that's why I wanted to hear your opinion on this topic!
I've read that one of the most important character trait of Lan Wangji is being a sadistic, and instantly I was like "what but he's not AT ALL like that". I thought that person could be an anti but actually they wanted to praise the character. I have still thousand doubts because maybe it's me who totally read the character wrong after all this time, and because I've never read such opinion on the character, neither from the novel fandom nor from the drama or donghua fandom.
What do you think about it? :)
hi anon!! thank you 💓💕❤️ i'm glad you like them!!! (and i'm glad i come across that way, even though i have certainly slipped and said some things like that hahaha)
so my first reaction was "HUH?????" but i think i understand what that person must be talking about! and while i can't say that find his sadism "one of his most important character traits", it IS something that i think it's very endearing about Lan Wangji!!
(long post under the cut lmao)
so before we elaborate, lemme specify that in this case, i am specifically talking about the sexual, BDSM meaning for sadism. here, a sadist is someone who finds sexual pleasure in inflicting pain on their partner during sex, on the same vein that a masochist is someone who enjoys being inflicted pain on during sex.
most importantly however, this pleasure tends to be exclusive to the mindset one has during a sexual situation, and does not translate to regular everyday life, so if that person was saying that Lan Wangji is a sadist who obtains pleasure from hurting ANYONE or ANYTHING, at ANY MOMENT, then i absolutely disagree with it
okay, so... why do so many people LOVE that LWJ is a sadist? well, obviously i can't speak for everyone, but for me, i love it because of how well done it was. sadism IS an integral part of Lan Wangji character, and he KNOWS it, and for most of his life? it scared him
imagine it with me for a second: you are a 15 year old teenager, who's lived his whole life following very strict rules with a very strict view of how one should behave. you never once indulged in "common teenager behavior", you never felt the need to. then, out of nowhere, a gremlin boy comes into your life as the very embodiment of those behaviors—drinking, flirting, breaking rules, causing trouble, saying ridiculous things in class, reading... forbidden material,
that boy thinks you're a stick-in-the-mud. that boy wants you to loosen up a little. that boy tricks you into opening one of those forbidden books, and laughs at the face you make about it, then runs away happily. your blood boils, your face is red, you've never felt so hot and so frustrated in your life. you want to teach him a lesson
however, next day comes and that boy and his shidi join you on a nighthunt, and you come to the realization that he's actually... not as terrible as you first thought? he's a troublemaker, sure, but he's also incredibly competent, intelligent and even selfless if the situation calls for it. that... also stirs something in you.
then, that boy comes bearing "an apology gift", two cute, white little rabbits he caught himself, just for you. you know, deep inside, he's just doing this to get a reaction out of you. that's all he ever does. so when he makes an inappropriate joke and you (before you can even stop yourself) push him out the window, hearing him laugh joyfully even after he hit the floor, you feel that stiring again, that hot frustration, and at this point... you start suspecting something. something about what this feeling is
the thing is, for as much as you want to, you don't hate that boy. you hate how he makes you feel, but you don't hate him. in fact, you start suspecting quite the opposite. but you ignore it, and you push it aside, even as you catch yourself thinking about him, and doing the things he told you about—he's always in your mind... and you don't hate it. even when you catch yourself looking for forbidden material yourself, a type that not even that boy showed to you, a type that you can relate to, maybe even fantasize with
so, imagine now, that is how your very young life is going. then, one night... you have a dream, one very different. it starts out as a memory, but early on, it changes. in that dream, that boy teases you just a bit more cruelly, says some things with stranger implications, he pushes, and pushes you, and pushes you, and you break.
in that dream, you hurt him
and not just any kind of hurt. you do something unspeakable. the most immoral of acts a human can do. you hurt him as he cries and begs you to stop. you don't
and the worst part? you enjoy it
you were so certain, up until that point, that you were a good person. that you'd never want to hurt anyone, especially like this. so why does that dream make you feel that way? what does it mean?! that boy angers and frustrates you, sure, but you never ever wanted to hurt him. so you convince yourself that it was how your young, hormonal brain processes this anger, and tries to move on
and you don't think about why, by the end, you were holding each other close. why, by the end, you'd wanted him to enjoy it as well
KDFKSHC OKAY SORRY this ended up longer than i'd planned, but this? this is a VERY very common experience for teenagers who happen to have this type of sexual inclination to have. your mind is so young and you don't know much about sex at all, but your brain and your body betray you, and you feel drawn towards fantasies that by all means should disgust you. and it scares you, it scares you because if i enjoy these thoughs, then what does that make me?? so, much like lan wangji, those feelings get repressed and turned into something shameful for themselves
AND HERE IS WHERE WEI WUXIAN COMES IN!!! because that dream lan wangji had? it gets exposed in full sound and color to the very person it was about. now, up until that point, wangxian had already been exploring their sexuality together, and after their little fucking in the woods where lwj kept trying and trying to hold back as to not hurt him, apologizing and feeling frustrated that he can't (and who could, in his place?) wwx's reaction was to continuously rile him up more and more, because he DOESN'T want lan zhan to hold back!! no restraints, right? he wants all lan zhan has to offer!!! he wants lan zhan in all he can be!! he wants it, he enjoys it, even if it hurts!!
(how lucky, that this repressed little sadist found love in someone who turned out to be a repressed little masochist LMAO)
what is endearing about that incense burner extra is that lan wangji is visibly nervous and embarrassed about this dream, even now, even after him and wwx got married and have had sex many times. this is STILL something that lwj is ashamed about. and wei wuxian's response? to be as open as possible, to reassure him that he finds it SO hot, that he loves it, that he wants him to fuck him like that RIGHT NOW!! that there's nothing to be ashamed about cause guess what? wei wuxian is SO into it too, he's egging on little 15yo lan zhan on his actions against his own younger self!! and lan wangji finally lets it go!!! he accepts this part if himself, because now he knows it doesn't mean anything bad, it doesn't mean he's a horrible person who wants to see wei ying hurt and crying (he has, already, back when everything was falling apart), because he only wants it when he knows that wei ying wants it too. he only wants it if it's a way for wei ying to also enjoy himself
soo yeah, this is what i think that person meant when they said lan wangji was a sadist. he is!! actually, for as much as i love what the incense burner means to them, i personally don't even like reading it because of how violent it can be, and i cannot blame anyone for not being able to read it, but it IS very important to his character, and such a compelling look into his mind!
but you can also imagine how much it would have scared little lan zhan, and how validating it must have been years later, to finally know that hey, it's just a dream, and me? your husband who loves having rough mean sex with you? finds that EXTREMELY hot and it only makes me love you more ❤️💞💕

Could you do obey me with riddle like mc
You have a strong commitment to maintaining order amomg your peers. You made it your duty to uphold hundreds of rules, no matter how strange or insignificant they are. You could be strict and intimidating by the people around you because of this.
You unfortunately have the tendency to lash out at someone who disagree with your way of thinking, as you consider your values to be right no matter what. But you seemes to find a way to compromise now, instead of instantly punishing rule breakers.
a/n: hello I haven't been updating or even answering any asks and i am very sorry💀i may or may not forgot i wrote here so I'll try to make it up to my bbg /j and my tumblr family
btw why cant i space in tumblr anymore my god this looks so messy
Lucifer:
you're officially the second in command in the house of lamentation
its usually who screams the loudest who will be in command that day
you're strict, he's strict
you gave scary punishment, lucifer gave scary punishment
no one dared to cross either of u in the devildom
its straight up one man for themselves once they saw the both of u
if y'all ever got into a fight, all of the brothers find a spot to hide
whether it be behind the couch, inside the oven, on the ceiling, they WILL save themselves first
because you both are SCARY when the other disagrees with the other
which, thankfully does not happen a lot bc yall have the same mindset sometimes💀
but when the fight did happen??? oh devildom someone save the wall it have a whole hole
even cerberus is in fear😰/j
but overall?? a powerful duo💪 both gave people enough reason to fear them
tho lucifer is kind of upset with u sometimes
not bc you're bad, no no
its because you're ACTUALLY rivalling him🤨😔he cant have someone being better than him yknow? his pride won't allow that
like you're smart and got 90+ on all ur exam papers???
suddenly lucifer is putting extra effort into his studies even tho he's smart enough
you're diligent and hardworking and always got praised by diavolo himSELF????
uh oh why is his work hours increasing😰😰
someone stop him before he marry his own desk
Mammon:
always got collared by you
well at least it's not lucifer punishing him this time😰
ur punishment is less scarier than lucifer's
still scary anyway
he usually dropped to the floor and sobbed whenever he got collared
not literally ofc
but then walked off to the casino a few minutes after like nothing happened with the collar on his neck
everyone in the casino that day: 🤨what kinky shit u doing⁉️
mammon: it's nOT-
hides his grades from u bc u absolutely will not tolerate any fails
failed miserably just like his grades
u knocked on his door and enter his room the next day with a thickass book
hes lowkey scared you're abt to knowledge whack him
until u tell him u personally read through every single book u can find that might help him and shorten them as best as you can into a book
and told him to memoriza everything inside
he cried
bc of two things
one OMG YOU'RE DOING THIS FOR HIM?$!$????? U READ THROUGH SO MANY BOOKS FOR HIM?$!$??? HES SOBBING AND CRYING AND WAILING AND-
two HOW THE HELL IS HE SUPPOSED TO MEMORIZE ALL THAT
he did try at least
well a lil
sometimes he just gave up and go do his things again before he got caught by u
Leviathan:
his grades lowkey improved tho pls be proud of him🥹😂
well u did encouraged him a little after that☺🙏‼️and with an almost whack of knowledge!!
got into ur hellish (literally) lessons on why he shouldn't stay in his room too much and avoid socializing
he is now sobbing
he doesn't really care bc he can do whatever he wants!!
he said that in a whisper yell voice so u can't really hear him
which leads him to another lesson on how and why he should speak up LMAO💀
he's on edge but he's trying not to piss u off so he just listens through everything
don't wanna be like a certain someone now right
COUGH COUGH mammon COUGH COUGH
lucifer is snickering at him btw
lucifer is leaning on his doorway and is watching everything
honestly he mostly avoids being in ur line of sight so u wouldn't mind him and hopefully and not hopefully forgot abt him!!^^
pls don't forget abt him he'll be sad but pls forget abt him so he'll be able to escape ur ways
as u can see, he is pretty conflicted
on one hand he loves those times you're more relaxed and is more willing to spend time and do the things he likes
but whenever its weekdays, my god😥
see its so bad he said god
HELP IMAGINE AT LIKE 4:30AM
you who just woke up seeing levi: good morning, its rare to see one of u up so early in the morning for school levi, who was about to go to sleep: uh-
Satan:
frowning and stomping his feet when he first saw u bc why are u kind of like lucifer??!!@@!?!!?
one is enough, he doesn't need another one😡
kind of tolerates u
u can understand why he avoids u a lil but u did try to make an effort for him to warm up to u bc yall live in the same building
went from "FUCK THIS LUCIFER WANNABE🙄🤬"
to "i still hate this person but only I get to hate on them"
its a love hate relationship
he loves having small debates with u
got mad when he loses and u have that smug look on ur face tho
same goes for the other way around
he may or may not have shared his fav books with u
u would find the time to read it even with how busy u are
bc it looks interesting + youre glad hes warming up to u a lil!!
idk what to write sorry yall
i havent been playing obey me for a while forgive this poor soul i can be a good discord kitten /JOKE
Asmodeus:
gushes about u so much
you're scary? too bad, not in his eyes!
insists on dressing u up every single day bc you're just too cute in his eyes that he can't resist
Beelzebub:
you're fine with him doing that as long as its not too flashy and is neat
you're not all that into fashion so u always just go to him for advice if theres anything u need help with
he have shiny eyes
he was also clutching his chest from the overwhelming happiness
one time he tried to gossip with u and u go "no, that is wrong"
he goes "😕🙄anyways so-"
he continued the gossip btw
u listened to him anyway bc its not like u can stop him💀
plus hes calling u boring bc of that so u just 🧍🏻‍♀️
if someone ever gave him a strawberry tart while hes on a diet, he'll just pass it to u
bc he said ur sparkly eyes🥺are totes adorbs he could not hold posting u on social media<3!!
pls don't cry bc of that part
doesn't care as long as u don't hurt nobody
Belphegor:
u kind of tiny tho🤔or maybe he's just too tall
prolly mentioned it once and it got u going tomatoes
learned his lesson from that day onwards to never mention anything about your height
its ok u lowkey forgot abt it!!
/j u made remarks abt it here and there☺🙏‼️ofc not everyday, just when youre feeling a tiny weeny bitzy petty
beel is very helpful about everything tho!
u need help with that book that someone deliberately put up so high for the laughs? he got u
its like those kdramas moment
"is this what u wanted?" hands touched, shiny screen, flowers everywhere, slowmo, music playing
as thanks u helped him with his workout
which is literally him doing pushups with u on his back reading a book
sometimes u join him on those workouts bc u need a balance between studies and sports‼️
beel tried his best to uh😅lay down a bit for ur sake😅
like sure he can do 100586496 pushups but that doesn't mean u can and hes honestly worried abt u pushing urself💀
speaking of pushing urself, if he ever saw u so busy with ur studies and the shenanigans around devildom, he'll give u a half-eaten strawberry tart
he tried not to eat it on the way but no promises yknow😚☺
u thanked him for it anyway KSKAKSNS
look at this tiny chihuahua on the other side of the bars im in😂😂😂
he said that to himself
bc he knows he would ruin his chances of having u pull him outta the ceilint???? wtf was he in again????? if u heard that
OH RIGHT ATTIC I HOPE THATS HOW U SPELL IT
how he even got u to go up there when you follow the rules so much?$!$??? idk but he do him ig
HELP IMAGINE HIS PLAN FAILED FROM THE START THAT'LL BE EMBARRASSING
"mind ur own business and never go up there" "oh ok my bad"
and then the end he never got out
its ok i'd like to ignore that possibility and make u go up for plot reasons
i have no plots actually im just telling u to go up there
honestly i dont think he'll be able to kill u??????5"5???
because like
imagine trying to hug the homie to death and bro just pulled out a book worth of hundreds of rules and flipped to page where it said no touching before marriage💀
could probably whack him with that same book if he tried anything too so!!☺
im giving how to escape belphegor's death hug tips
plus you're a mage(?)!!!😂🙏‼️you'll survive!!
after all that shenanigans you absolutely does not approve of how he live his life
why are u sleeping on the floor!?!?!!!??? GRT UP
STOP SLEEPING IN CLASS🤬
belphie after he have to deal with both u and Lucifer:
