#hi! im alive and back and etc.#six the musical #six the musical fanart #katherine howard #thinking of that post going 'i think eventually you become the person you needed most' and like maybe that's the thing with my art #this started out as a redraw and <improvement meme> i think i've finally reached the stage where i'm making the things that my younger self #aspired to create. like i can do this now! i've reached That level of technical skill! tiny me would be so proud. it's very gratifying #redraw from august this year actually. i've made a surprising amount of improvement HAHA maybe it was the adamandi stuff getting me #back into digital rendering. i think that obsession has quietly slipped away but yknow. one never truly leaves a fandom. just less intensit #also speaking of old fandoms! we're back with the six stuff haha. as of writing i'm in the midst of blog revamp- figuring out how to chill #multifandom status doesn't mean ditch all the old stuff ! but i do feel much freer and less stressed. i think hiatus has been good for me #notes on this piece particularly: redraw about cutting hair and thinking of the lyric above. also lowkey &j ref + pinterest poem excerpts #of female suffering. and maybe a dash of amanda heng let's walk inspo. this work is really just full of contradictions..#1. the mirror and cutting hair as an act of self liberation 2. the & is part of the lyric but also a nod to &j (in another iteration it was #pink but the white looked better) and like. &j is really all !!! girl power!!! etc. and i was like hmmmm. also matching pink shiny aes #3. the frame as a cage; the mirror as a self reflection idea (ie. saville's propped insp) but also as a sign of vanity. 4. sparkly costume #and pretty pose- read one too many poems about women feeling like they have to be pretty even in their suffering. something i wanted to #explore. and also in 5. the show itself... all you wanna do is. despite all the dancing and pink and sparkly the content of the song is #darker. and even though it's a story of her suffering it's still presented as a shiny fun pop song and ajshdhfhfh ok... 6. the lyrics fall #outside the frame. sort of a caught inbetween. sort of a trapped in the narrative and yet #within the frame it's all. vaguely handwavy breaking free vibes. like i said contradictions?#7. cutting off the long ponytail vs the pull my hair lyric at the end. yeah #8. the blocked off & looks a bit like scissors. positioned to cut right at the neck #anyways yeah irl remains hectic! but if i get around to more doodles they'll appear here :)

The independent religious bookstore is the only place you can go on an overpriced shopping spree and feel good about it.

#i was going there to get a baptism gift #(guess who gets to be godmother again!)#(those girls are going to be getting identical presents their whole life)#i went with a crucifix for the baptism present since their statues are very picked over #and the godfather already got one for her (kind of) patron saint #i also got a holy card for her definitely patron saint #and a blanket that was way too expensive but it was pink and guardian angel and also had her name #so it's like it was made for her baptism #and then there was a gorgeous nativity set advent wreath for 75% off so that's for me #plus two 75% off slightly damaged children's book versions of the christmas story #so there's a christmas present for both goddaughters #then a book about catholic motherhood for my sister-in-law since i have her for secret santa #and then i threw in an advent devotional that looks pretty good #i wasn't even trying to buy stuff it all just jumped out at me #but when you're buying from the cute friendly old lady you don't even feel bad about buying more than intended #i feel kind of bad having her wrap the crucifix for me #but also i can't turn down the nostalgic joy of having your present gift-wrapped at the shop #i think that 'gift-wrapper at department store' is one of my nostalgic obsolete dream jobs

#I'll take good care of her~#*ahem*#the stuff in caps is from me earlier when i first had the idea #she wanted that to be the text but didnt think i might want to.. talk about the drawing process. thats why this awkward transition is here #anyway.. when drawing characters simply i like to draw them like little miis or perhaps teru teru bōzu #thats why her skirt is longer and why she doesnt have arms #also.. i dont use colored pencils often. and while i do have quite a few this is the closest i could get to the Bocchi the Hot! Pink #(or should it be Bocchi the Hot Pink! ?)#anyway.. i also only wanted to use the Bocchi the Hot! I’m going to get cancelled for this, but I do love when Saito draws her blonde Utena. Especially next to her black-haired Anthy. Utena is so allegorical that giving them natural hair colors grounds them in a way that borders on reality and allegory.

Sebastian has been on my brain lately which means Cornella exists in my brain, too. They're best friends and have been since grade school. Their parents both run big companies and they're supposed to inherit them and Sebastian's dad is really upset that he's such good friends with her but whatever. (His mom loves their friendship) But her parents are just absolutely miserable that she's still in contact with him.

So he sneaks into her building on his lunch break and does work on his phone or tablet and just avoids all security cameras with his pathing and he knows which ones are busted and he knows which windows he can climb in for less cameras. One of her employees asks why he bothers since everyone that works for her KNOWS that he's there. Why not just ask the security to not report him, like, the security people KNOW he's there, too. He doesn't understand why that's a question because obviously giving anyone any evidence to use against him is bad. (and "also that's on you, buddy, you still haven't reported the camera in your office isn't working so I'm gonna continue using your office window as entry")

I can tell this playthrough is my favorite because I just spent 30 minutes buying dye for everyone's armor based on what I think they'd like to celebrate finishing all their personal quests. An in character shopping trip where my Tav was like, "We've come so far, and we need to look good for the ending! Everyone's getting new drip, my treat!"

Whereas last time, I didn't care about outfit cohesion in the slightest.
