movie night (jess mariano x gilmore reader) ♡.。.:*
Tumblr media
a/n: just letting you know before you read, i wrote this at like 10:30, i was super tired and i did not proofread 😭 i’m just trying to get this out tbh. also this is kinda just bc i may not be able to get out chapters 5 and 6 for iwmflyb this week. ik it’s not billy but maybe i’ll do something for him tmr wc: 1.4k
Tumblr media
“rory! where’s my white sweater?” you yelled to your sister. you walked out of your room and ran downstairs to her room. “can i give it to you tomorrow?” she asked with puppy dog eyes, pouting. you folded your arms in her doorway. “why tomorrow?” you raised an eyebrow. “dean’s coming over tonight.” rory told you , getting up from her bed. “hm, okay. as soon as prince charming leaves, i’m stealing it back!” you sassed. rory stuck out her tongue at you in which you did right back.
then a knock was heard at the door. mom forgot to get luke to fix the doorbell, so everyone had to knock for now. “coming!” you yelled. you ran out of rory’s room to the door. you opened the door to reveal a slightly messy jess. “oh, hey.” you greeted. this was very random. “oh, hey back.” he teased. he welcomed himself into your home and walked to the kitchen. “wait why are you here?” you followed.
he took off his jacket and put it on the back of a chair. “i thought we were hanging out today?” he stated, confused. “no, you’re coming over tomorrow, silly.” you walked over to the fridge and took out a chocolate pudding. “dessert before dinner? naughty, naughty.” jess joked. “shh.”
“your mom won’t mind right?” he questioned slightly nervously.
“mind what?” you replied with a mouthful of pudding. rory came out of her room in a rush but stopped in her tracks seeing jess. “um. what’s he doing here?” rory folded her arms and tapped her foot. “hello to you too. i’m great, thanks. how are you?” jess spoke sarcastically. “you guys are bad hosts.”
you ignored jess and turned to rory. “jess forgot that he was coming over tomorrow instead of today, ror.” you explained. “you mind of we change it to today?” he wiggled his eyebrows. “no! dean is coming over today and i don’t want you to ruin it.” rory whined. “how would i ruin it?” he responded highly offended. “yeah, please tell us.” you quipped.
“by being… jess!”
“now that’s a great answer if i’ve ever heard one.” you giggled. “i mean it though, dean doesn’t like him, he doesn’t like dean. you see the pattern?” she tried to convince you. “oh hush, you.” you silenced her, turning to face jess. “sure, you can stay. as long as you bring us the goods from Luke’s.” you ordered, standing taller. “i’ll go get them right now.” he winked.
rory rolled her eyes as soon as he left. you put your spoon in the sink. “why are you being so mean today? you’re friends with him!”
“okay, i’m sorry, but dean really doesn’t like him. i just don’t want him to ruin anything between us.” she confessed. “MOMMY! RORY’S HAVING BOY PROBLEMS!” you yelled very loudly. “shut up!” rory grinned, laughing. “NO IM NOT!” she yelled back upstairs.
the thudding of lorelai’s loud boots was heard as she ran into the living room. “spill it, sister.” she sat down excitedly. rory turned back to you. “he’s bringing Luke’s! i think it’s a pretty fair deal. and it’ll be like a double date!” you reasoned. “oooohhh. a double date!” lorelai’s eyes shone brightly like a cartoon character. “well fine, but what am i supposed to tell him? ‘oh, hi dean! do you mind if your least favorite person on earth joins us for our very romantic date tonight? thanks!’” she overdramatically acted out.
“ooh, ooh, i’ll be dean!” lorelai turned her chair. she furrowed her brows and her voice changed to a deep tone. “oh no way, rory, i repeat, NO. WAY.” you giggled at your mother’s impression.
“he doesn’t sound like that!” she tried to hide it, but rory couldn’t help grinning. “just don’t tell him.” you simply put. you nodded while rory scoffed. “whatever you say.” she walked back into her room. lorelai looked at you.
“she seems excited.”
Tumblr media
the first knock of the night was heard at 7pm. “knock knock!” rory went running to the door hoping it was dean first. but she was disappointed as it was jess instead with a box. “food!” rory cheered, grabbing the box from him. “thanks.”
jess closed the door and stepped inside. you were spread on the couch with a soft blanket on top of you. he walked over to where you were and bent over to kiss your head. “someone looks cozy.”
“i am.” you grinned. “what are we watching tonight?” he asked sitting on your feet. “Donna Reed!” rory yelled from the kitchen. jess rolled his eyes smiling. “that’s not a movie. this is supposed to be a movie night.”
“whatever. she still deserves to be seen.” you sat up and leaned onto jess’ shoulder. “dean says he’s gonna be here in five minutes.” rory announced walking into the living room with a bowl of popcorn. “ooh, ooh!! you should hide and scare him.” you giggled mischievously.
“no, that’s a terrible idea. that’ll make it even worse for him.” rory sympathized. she wasn’t wrong, dean would probably get super mad. “fine.” you shrugged. it’s alright, there will always be next time!
the second knock of the night was heard a few minutes later to which rory got up to answer the door. “hi, dean.” she leaned up to kiss him. he walked in and gave her the tub of ice cream. “what flavor did you get?” you asked him, shouting.
he chuckled and walked into the living room. “hey-“ he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw jess’ face staring back at him. he turned to rory. “wh- is this some kind of joke?” you could see the anger starting to rise.
“y/n wanted him over tonight. he said he’s going to behave.” rory soothed, handing you the ice cream and sitting down on the couch. his mouth formed a straight line when jess gave his little wave.
dean walked over and sat next to rory with his arms crossed. you gasped. “neapolitan!” you cheered. jess grabbed a spoon from the table and dug in with you. “what are we gonna watch?” dean questioned, taking some popcorn. “donna reed.” you and rory answered simultaneously.
“what’s that?” he manspread on the couch. “i’m sorry, what? you’ve never seen it?” you exaggerated, putting a hand to your heart making jess grin. “that’s a sin.” rory gasped. “that’s a cruel statement.” you quipped.
“so it’s like a show?” he asked, smiling softly. he was slightly nervous with jess being here. part of him didn’t know how to act. “it’s more than a show. it’s a lifestyle!” rory boasted and turned to you. “it’s a religion.” you pointed with your spoon and a mouthful of ice cream. rory nodded with you.
“oh jeez, can you put it on already? i’m dying over here.” jess groaned dramatically. you stuck your tongue out at him and pressed play.
Tumblr media
“bye dean!” you waved goodbye after watching a few episodes of the great donna reed. rory was quite upset, though. jess fell asleep on the couch while you guys were watching so you decided to leave him there for a few minutes to talk to rory privately. “how could he like that kind of stuff?” she whispered. “i think he just meant that the idea of a wife cooking for her husband is nice.” you reasoned.
“but i don’t think he understands the time period. what it was like for women at this time, you know?” she continued whispering. you nodded your head in understanding. you think she was being a little extra, but you kept that to yourself. “i’m tired i’m going to sleep.” rory kissed your cheek and walked to her room. “nighty night!” you whisper yelled.
you crawled onto jess and he shifted over slightly. “jess,” you shook him slightly. “wake up for a sec, babe.” you needed to quickly make sure he was allowed to sleepover without luke going into a frenzy before you could sleep comfortably.
you could hear him awakening from his slumber. “yeah, what’s up? you okay?” he sat up quickly. “i’m alright, are you able to sleepover?” you asked, rubbing his arm. he nodded and laid back down, bringing you with him. he stroked your hair as you covered yourself with the blanket. “goodnight!” you kissed his neck before snuggling into him. “goodnight y/n.”
you sat up all of a sudden. “my sweater!” you whisper-yelled out. “huh??” jess hummed. “i need to get my sweater back from rory!” you got up and ran down the hall to her room, slamming her door open. jess chuckled to himself. “I WANT MY SWEATER BACK!”

Bibliophile; Pt. ii
Kaz Brekker x Bibliophile!wife!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: After Jesper watches a display of affection between his boss and his co-crow (hehe) he talks to Nina about it, eventually involving Inej and the heartrender in an investigation
a/n: this part of the storyline takes inspo from @undiscovered-horizon’s fic “Four Crow Investigation” which you can find here! i rlly recommend their stuff you should check them out!
Warnings: Mostly the same stuff as last time, you will need to read pt. i so go check her out first, Kaz is less angsty bc he’s married blah blah blah, (i’m just going to copy and paste the ones from pt. i tbh lmao) Kaz can tolerate reader’s touch, mentions of alcohol and drinking it, fluff for DAYS, reader uses she/her pronouns and is described as female, marriage??, the crows are about 22 in this (which is what i imagine to be in the show), OOC Kaz (i tried y’all)
Pt. i !!!
“I’m telling you, Nina! He kissed her forehead! There’s something going on here.” Jesper’s hands flailed about wildly as he expressed his concern to the girl across from him.
“I don’t doubt you, Jes. We just need to go about this carefully. Tell Inej.” The heartrender sipped her tea and waved the boy to go find their friend.
~
“Oh, I’ve known. I just can’t tell whether they’re just dating or married, it’s hard when they go about it so delicately. It’s really sweet, actually.” A soft smile lit the Suli girl’s face.
“Argh! I need to know! The anticipation is killer, I need to tell more people about this. Wylan!” The Zemini boy sauntered out of the room shouting.
“Saints, Jesper, carefully also means quietly! They’ll know we know if they hear us shouting.” Nina cautioned him.
“Who’ll know you know?” Y/n entered the kitchen gracefully and quietly. Even Inej was slightly taken aback. “What do you know that’s so secret? Can I have some of this Nina?” She gestured to the tea pot.
“Sure! And nothing too important, just the usual barrel gossip.” The Corporalnik laughed cooly as Y/n began to ascend the stairs.
“Alright. See you guys.” She giggled and waved to her three friends.
“That was too close.”
Inej and Jesper nodded together, all eyes falling on the boy.
“Stop yelling about top secret information, idiot.” Nina whispered.
~
“They know, Kaz” Y/n entered his office and sat in the chair opposite himself.
“About us together or our marriage?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Probably just us together, but I wouldn’t put it past Inej to know. We should just tell them, love.”
“How do we tell without telling?” Kaz questioned his wife as she used her best impression of his famous scheming face.
“I have an idea.” She smiled
“Do you know?” The boy smirked back at her, ready to listen.
~
“Oh, Demjin left some papers out.” Matthias walked past the kitchen table with a buttered piece of toast in hand, eyes rolling and head shaking.
“What do they say?” Jesper rushed the table with vigor and looked through some of them.
“Nina, they’re married! For three years! They’ve been wed since they were nineteen! Their marriage certificate is right here! Can you believe it?!”
“I really can’t.” Y/n’s voice carried from the bottom of the stairs to Jesper’s ears as he whipped around and pursed his lips.
“Morning, Y/n.” the boy waved a little and scrambled to the couch to attempt to disappear.
“Mrs. Brekker. Thats her official title, anyway.” Kaz waltzed in and placed a kiss to his wife’s cheek and continued to his arm chair in their living area.
Nina ran a hand over her face and gave the sharpshooter a look.
“Good going, Jes.”
The group laughed, Y/n sat on the arm of Kaz’s chair and linked their pinkies.
“Tell us everything. How did he propose?” Wylan leaned toward the two.
“Well, we were on a job…”

boyfriends - e.b
Tumblr media
summary: after dealing with her boyfriend for years, she finally decides to end things with help from buck.
evan buckley x reader
based on the song boyfriends by harry styles :))
a/n: guys i’m on s5 and what the duck is happening. also pretend ravi has been there for longer bc i literally love him
the table was set with thin candles and ceramic plates under a maroon tablecloth. there were light rain noises coming from outside, calming the room with the dim lights. the aroma of homemade pasta and white wine was filling the room. dressed in her neat jean skirt and black top, y/n sat in one of the chairs at the table.
the door unlocked and swung open with an aggressive stomping coming in with a swaying man. “hey, princess! sorry i’m late i was just busy.” slurring his words together, he walks over as she stands up.
“i thought you were at work.” she states, quietly. she’s confused as he should smell like an office, but instead radiates a busy bar and whisky.
“oh, the guys wanted to go out, sorry about dinner,” he says, slumping on the couch.
“i planned this whole thing, cam. you really couldn’t blow them off for one night?”
“it was just dinner! it’s not like we didn’t have food here.”
“yeah, food for us, that i made for you!” she starts getting annoyed but it’s impossible to argue with a drunk person. “it’s fine, i’ll just take it to work.” clearly annoyed, she pulls the plates out and clears them off into tupperware.
“well don’t be pissed at me because i wanted to hang out with the boys,” he says, his words barely making sense. she doesn’t fight back, knowing he won’t even remember this in the morning.
“go to bed, cameron.” y/n says, before entering the bathroom and shutting the door behind him.
————————————————————————
dressing for work, y/n wakes up to throw on her uniform. she gathers her things to prepare for another long shift at the 118, and she notices his keys gone, along with his work belongings.
she walks out the door after grabbing the leftovers she had spent hours preparing for someone who spent hours not caring. she walks into the station to be greeted by her real family.
“hey, y/n!” eddie says, organizing one of the trucks with buck.
buck gives her a sweet smile, noticing the abnormal lack of excitement on her face. she walks over and talks to them a bit, drained of energy but still ready to force herself through the day.
as much as she didn’t want to leave her apartment, being at the station felt more of a warm welcome. stepping in through the garage doors, the cold air from her apartment and life outside had evaporated.
the team goes upstairs to the kitchen, as bobby is making coffee for everyone. y/n leaves her extra food on the counter to show people.
“what’s all this from, y/n?” bobby asks. “you didn’t have to bring this.”
“oh, it’s just my l-“ she cuts herself off. “i made this to bring to you guys. i made the pasta myself.”
“it’s delicious!” buck says, a mouthful of pasta and covering his mouth. he tries to lighten her mood after seeing directly through her lies.
he had met cameron before, never really being a fan of him. she’d brought him to one of the gatherings, and he spent the whole time ignoring her existence, and then getting mad at her for being upset. he knew she deserved better, and honestly, he thought, she deserves him. he wanted to help her, but didn’t want to cross the line and help where he wasn’t needed.
“really, buck? couldn’t even heat it up?” hen asks, slightly disappointed but expecting nothing else from him.
they all walk away back to their own chores around the station, as bobby stays in the kitchen. “hey, y/n!” buck runs up behind her.
“yeah? you ok?”
“that’s… kinda my question to you.” he stutters a bit. “it’s just- just wanna make sure everything’s okay, you don’t seem as… bright and bubbly as normal.”
buck and y/n had been friends for a long time, knowing how each other felt all the time. they were able to connect with one another so easily, and buck knew that something was wrong with her. he missed her happy mood, that seemed to have faded away more with every shift.
“oh, i’m fine, buck.” she smiles. “it’s just been a lot of work and sleeping, and repeat.”
she lies to him again about cameron, even though he knows the truth. “y/n/n, come on. don’t lie to me.”
“what?” she peeps out.
“talk to me, please.” he begs her to open up because he just wants to make her feel better. “is it cam?”
“n-no, buck. stop, it’s fine.”
that answer alone told him everything he needed to know. he doesn’t know all the details of their relationship, but it’s almost like cam pretends they aren’t even in one.
y/n doesn’t know why she defends him so much, or why she sticks up with it. she’s hoped things will change for a while, but usually nothing looks up. she loves him, she does. at least she thinks so. she provides so much for both of them, and has put in so much energy to their relationship, only for broken promises in return. she has hope that the time she’s put in was worth it, but every day when she goes home to him it becomes weaker. being a first responder, she wants to help everyone she can. she wants to be able to fix their relationship and she wants to feel valued, for once. people tell her all the time how she saved them, and she so badly wants him to realize that everyone needs to be saved. she’s given him the world, and it’s not long before she takes it all back.
“i know it’s not. i’m here for you, and if he’s not good to you i’m gonna be-“
“buck, just drop it! i’m doing the best i can!” her voice raises in defense, and he pulls her into the locker rooms. “im drained from this relationship, right now and i cannot get into this with you right now. this is my only escape, evan.” her light tears form in her eyes before her breathing becomes sharper. the other workers look at them, but with death stares from hen, chimney, and eddie they look away. they’re listening too, they never really liked him either but figured it was none of their business. it hurts to see their friend in this situation.
“i know, it’s gonna be ok.” he pulls her into a hug in hopes to calm her down. “you didn’t make that for us, didn’t you?”
“no, i made it for him. then he came home completely wasted and told me not to make a big deal out of it. i spent my one day off making this big ass dinner for him, and he couldn’t even take a minute to say thank you.”
“look at me, y/n.” buck pulls away and places his hands on your shoulders. “it is not your fault he’s not good enough for you. he is not. good. enough.”
“no,” she whispers.
“yes,” he says. “you deserve better than what he’s giving you.”
she shakes her head and his heart breaks more. there is no way that he has given her so much shit that she doesn’t believe it’s his own fault. the tears come stronger and run down her damp cheeks. “i can’t just leave him, buck. i cant hurt him like that because some part of me still loves him.”
“i know, but it is for the better.”
“i don’t think i have the power to end things. he wouldn’t listen to me and i can’t bring myself to break his heart.” she cries.
“you need to leave him before he breaks yours any more than it already is.” y/n calls back into his chest, and he sits her down on the benches. his own eyes are becoming glossy at the pain of watching his best friend have to deal with this. he’s had his own fair share of bad relationships, but they never meant anything because he is scared of this happening. it hurts his heart to know that she’s been carrying herself through this relationship as he’s just been more weight on her shoulders.
————————————————————————
the door of the apartment swings open again, as usually. surprisingly, the smell of liquor doesn’t hit y/n’s nose. cameron walks in, placing his bags on the floor by the door. “y/n?”
“y/n? where are you?” he calls out again and she makes her way out of the bedroom. “hey, you. did you make dinner?”
“no.” she says, maintaining eye contact.
“o-oh? we don’t have leftovers?”
“no, cameron. i took them to the station.” she says. “you would remember i told you that, but you were too drunk to remember.”
“what are you talking about, y/n? i went out for drinks, i don’t know why you have to be so bitchy about it.” she’s made her decision to leave, but the names still sting inside.
“well, you don’t have to deal with it anymore.”
“what the hell is that supposed to mean? youre not actually leaving me.” he let’s out a patronizing chuckle at her words, but she stands her ground.
“i am leaving you, cameron. my stuff is in my car, and we are over.” she doesn’t move from her spot on the ground, scared to move her glued feet like she’d fall over.
he laughs again with a critical grin on his face, again. “and where do you think you’ll go? i pay for this apartment, i pay the bills. you have nothing without me. y/n.”
“i work at the best fire station with the highest ranking paramedics and firefighters out there.” she retorts back. “i’ll be just fine without you, hell, i practically have been for the past two years.”
“you’re embarrassing yourself, baby girl.” y/n’s expression scrunches up from the cringe of the pet name that she’s always hated.
“don’t ever call me that again.”
“you have no where to go, you can’t stay at your stupid job forever.” he takes a step closer, and she takes another one back.
“actually, she’s going to stay with me until she can find an apartment.” buck says, coming around the corner, sensing her fear.
cam rubs his face. “y/n, please. we can do this together. you know i love you.” his immediate switches in mood is what she can’t control anymore, and she can no longer deal with it.
“some version of me out there still loves you back, and i feel insane amounts of nothing but pity for her.” y/n spits out at him.
“you’re a fucking psycho,” he says, and buck runs over to create more distance, standing between the two. y/n turns around, running her hands through her hair, trying to disappear.
“we’re leaving, y/n/n.” buck says, gripping your waist. “let’s go.”
“fuck, whatever. get the hell out.” cameron finally moves to the side and y/n and buck walk out of y/n’s old ‘home’ for the last time.
they stand outside in the parking lot, standing side by side as a speechless y/n stares in the distance. “i won’t stay for too long, i’ve found a few nice apartments to look at.”
“don’t worry about anything, y/n. you can stay there forever if it means you’re not there anymore.”
being faced with this much kindness and loving actions overwhelms her, making even more tears that she didn’t know she had pool in her eyes. “don’t cry, please. it’s ok, i’m here.” he pulls her back in and pats the back of her hair. “why don’t you drive over to my place, i’ll meet you in the parking lot.”
they go their separate ways and start driving to his nice apartment and already, it feels more like home than hers ever did.
buck pulls out his phone in the parking lot, in his car. he dials a few numbers and pulls the phone to his ear.
“hey, maddie. you busy tonight?”
————————————————————————
going up the stairs, y/n only had the energy to bring in a single bag to his apartment tonight. they walk side by side to his door together, his arm around her shoulders. buck fumbles with his keys and looks at her red, worn out eyes.
when he unlocks the door, y/n immediately notices all her family around bucks kitchen. she places her eyes on everyone, bobby and athena, hen, ravi, chimney and maddie, even christopher and eddie are there. “hey, y/l/n, welcome home.” athena is the first to say. and for the first time of the night, a fixed smile shines through her.
“hi guys, you all crowded in here?”
“thanks to this one, we wanted to be here for you, y/n.” hen says, pointing to buck.
“you did this?” she asks, sweetly, as if they all had just wrapped her hurt heart with the bandages of their love.
“i guess you could say that.” buck smiles, not wanting to take credit, but happy that he’s finally put some light in her mind.
“y/n, come over here and show us how you made that pasta.” bobby says, calling her over to start making dinner. “maddies going to start a salad.”
“ooh! i can make margaritas!” buck exclaims, excitedly.
“um, i can get behind that!” chim says.
everyone gathered around the kitchen, y/n notices her family all around, taking in the love they’ve given her. they would never have to take the time out of their day to come hang out in bucks tiny apartment if they didn’t truly care about her.
after a while, only buck and her remain in the kitchen. as everyone else squeezes into his living room, some people literally sitting on top of each other.
“hey, i don’t know how to thank you for all of this.”
“you don’t have to thank me for anything. this,” buck says, looking around the room. “is what you’ve deserved. and i will do anything to make sure you know that.”
they keep their eyes together, feeling everything from the day come down on them. both of them have their fears, but they seem to fade away and they forget about everyone else. realizing how much he really cares about her has changed everything for her. she loves buck more than she would ever have been able to love cameron. she reaches up impulsively, grabbing the sides of his face and pulling him in. she gives him a deep kiss and buck swears he’s levitating off the ground. his heart is on fire, waiting for this moment since they met. he didn’t expect anything in return, but he will say that this is a pretty nice reward.
buck leans back and shines a toothy grin at her, and she giggles. “you are very welcome.” he says, barely being able to get words out from his happiness.
they look over after hearing tiny giggles in the room. they both look over simultaneously, seeing christopher with an adorable, shining smile at them. he’s covering his mouth, but failing to conceal himself. “hi, christopher.” buck says.
“hi, buck! hi y/n!” he says, still not being able to wipe the smile away.
back in the living room, with maddies legs draped over him, chimney says to hen with a smirk, “and just like that, i am 20 dollars richer.”
“oh come on, chim, we all knew it was bound to happen.” hen laughs and they welcome y/n and buck back over.

George x reader (fem or gn you choose) so reader is the new neighbour, while they are talented too their parents didn’t make them work, got to go to college and have a somewhat normal life. However Lockwood & Co are the only people their age and they are lonely during summer so they decide to ask them if they want a hand (they are clueless on how agencies work) and Lockwood is so desperate with administration and/or stock deliveries he accepts. Reader starts working at Portland Row, never going on the field and while reader gets on well with Lucy and Lockwood, George is a bit more cold bc not only reader is treating this as a summer job, he resents reader for the opportunity of pursuing their studies and prob jealous of reader and their family next door. Too specific perhaps? Pick what you want but I need more George x reader 🫠🫠🫣
New assistant
Tumblr media
Character: George Karim × Fem!Reader
Type: fluff, tad bit of angst
Length: 3.2k words
Summary: (Basically the request above!)
Trope: Girl Next Door/Grumpy x Sunshine (I'm sorry i love George and this trope)
A/n: LONG A/N omg don’t worry about the ask being too detailed it actually helps me out a lot because I can just fill in all the details and this was the easiest one to write out of all my requests so thank you I really adore it! I did change a few things so I hope that's okay. Enemies to Lovers oneshot coming out soon (hopefully) also I’m so sorry this came out late I’ve been slacking big time!! Also if you guys wanna request for Gilbert Blythe from Anne with an E I would love it
"Hi." I greeted. "I'm Y/n the new neighbor next door and I just wanted to introduce myself and ask you something." I pointed with my thumb to my left referencing my house.
"Oh hello. I briefly spoke with your father this morning." He recalled.
"I apologize if he isn't the most talkative. My mother is the chatty one." I cleared my throat. "You're Anthony Lockwood right?" He nodded.
"Most people just call me Lockwood but please come in." He moved to the side. I stepped inside and the layout basically mirrored our house. It was very cozy and homey.
The walls were littered with artifacts it was almost like a mini museum to look at. It was really extraordinary to see. There was also a little bench and an umbrella holder mainly with rapiers in it.
He lead me into the living area and it was just as cozy as the hallway I sat in one of the chairs and he briefly excused himself. I looked around the room keeping my eyes busy.
I sat patiently just waiting for Lockwood to return. I heard some clattering in the kitchen then he soon came back with a sheepish smile playing on his lips.
"Sorry about that." He placed a tray of biscuits and tea in front of me. "I normally would have George do that part but he's out of the house at the moment."
"Oh, it's fine I really don't mind." I tried to calm his stressed mood. That's why I wanted the job. "So I overheard the other day that you needed an assistant? I was in need of a job so I was hoping I could help around here? Take some of the load off your guy's backs?" I asked nervously.
Since the houses were connected sometimes you could hear them talking in certain rooms. The other day is when I heard a male voice complain about needing more people and how there was never enough time for re-stocking salt bombs or preparing chains. I only knew so much about both items but I was sure willing to try.
"Ah yes, that would be perfect around here. We've all been working and we don't have time anymore for certain things." He chuckled. "Um, do you happen to have any talents? Just curious."
"Oh yes, I have touch and a bit of sight. I just never became an agent because I wanted to go to school." He nodded understanding the situation. "And my parents never forced it upon me. They always thought the business was too dangerous so..."
"Well frankly we really are desperate but you will get the same pay as George and Lucy. I want to thank you this will honestly be more help than you may think." I shook my head.
"It really is not a big deal I'm really in need of a summer job right now and this helps me too." Before I could elaborate the front door swung open and it revealed a pair arguing about something.
"No no no that's actually wrong!" The boy argued. I assumed that was George and the girl was Lucy.
"Please not in front of our guest." Lockwood gave them a desperate smile. "This is Y/n. She moved in last week." Lucy gave me a small smile and placed her bag by the entrance of the room. She walked over to me and shook my hand.
"I'm Lucy Carlyle. It's good to finally meet you." she looked at the other boy trying to tell him to introduce himself. He sighed as if I was causing him a problem.
"George Karim." He spoke before walking off.
"I'm sorry about him. He’s not good with new people." Lockwood apologized.
"It's okay! I understand." I let out a nervous chuckle.
The rest of the day was full of many things mainly the tour of the house/ where everything was located. It was a little nerve-wracking because I wanted to make a good impression and make sure I did the job right.
At the end of the day, Lockwood explained the times he wanted me here and when I could leave. Everything sounded good and maybe I would actually have a good summer this year.
As the sun started to dip down below the trees across from our houses, I quietly shut the door of Lockwood and Co easily slipping out of the house.
I pulled out the key and slid it into the lock. I opened the door and was hit with a pleasant aroma. Garlic, spices, it was some recipe I couldn't place.
"I'm home." I called out. I heard my dad in the kitchen and my mom was somewhere in the house. I filled up on tea and many biscuits over at the house so I wasn't exactly in the mood for something to eat. I slipped off my shoes and went up the stairs to my room.
-
Walking into 35 Portland Row the next day there was already chaos. Lockwood was running around searching for his tie, George was complaining about tea and Lucy was yelling about chains.
"Lockwood!" I got his attention and he slowed down a little bit. "I'll help you find your tie okay? What's happening what's the rush?"
"We have to talk about a case with a big company in 15 minutes, we woke up late and we were not prepared. They wanted to see our equipment and-"
"Hey. Again I'll find your tie, I'll pack up some salt bombs and flares. Slow down it's gonna be alright. You hired me so you wouldn’t be stressed.” He nodded and gulped lightly.
I made sure to stop by the kitchen first to see George in distress about how they somehow had absolutely no tea in the house.
“Hey you can go get ready I’ll be sure to pick up some tea later.” I proposed to George. He hummed as if not to care and walked out of the room. He has been so difficult already and I haven't even known him for 24 hours.
Lockwood’s tie was in the kitchen on one of the chairs. I snagged it and headed down to the storeroom. Lucy was a stressed mess going through chains and trying to go through flares at the same time. "Lucy." I interrupted her thoughts. "How about I sort and oil chains for you guys and I'll take care of the supplies. Go have a quick breakfast, George and Lockwood too.”
She sighed and briefly hugged me.
"Thank you."
"Yeah of course!" She quickly ran out of the storage room and I heard her head up the stairs.
There were many different types of flares to choose from, salt bombs too. I grabbed a few different kinds and placed three in a smaller bag down here obviously for missions.
I walked out of the storeroom and slung the bag of supplies over my shoulder to carry upstairs. Lockwood had been pacing in the kitchen and Lucy had a piece of toast in her hand. Not sure where George had wandered off to but I was nervous for them all to be on time.
“Tie and supplies.” I handed both things to Lockwood and a wave of relief washed over him.
“Thank you Y/n truly you’re a lifesaver.” I nodded and stepped back. They both started to drift out of the room and soon the house was filled with silence.
Well, that was one way to start the first day. What was I thinking? I don't know how to oil chains or how I'm supposed to sort them. How hard could it be..?
-
"Why did you let her put everything together?" George grumbled in the taxi.
"What do you mean?" Lockwood furrowed his eyebrows.
"She just started here and she acted like she could fix everything and how do you know she will just do everything right?"
"Because I hired her and I have faith. George, you just have to give her a chance." George grumbled in response and just stared out the car window.
-
Over time and working at 35 Portland Row I seemed to realize one thing that never seemed to change. George Karim.
It's like he goes out of his way to pick on things I didn't do correctly. It is possibly the hardest thing to deal with.
"We needed more salt bombs."
"Why didn't you get flares while we were out?"
“That’s not how you do it!”
Even when I'm not working and I'm hanging out with Lucy he will complain were "too loud" or "disturbing his peace"
He is extremely different around me. Whenever I walk into the same room as him it's like his whole mood changes. There's always this look in his eye I could never understand.
Anger? Hatred even?
He was friendly around Lockwood and Lucy but never me. I was really determined to figure out what I did to make him this way with me.
-
“Hey Luce?” I rolled over on Lucy’s bed.
“Hm?” She asked as she was painting her nails black.
“So you know why George isn’t fond of me?” She snorted.
“He’s fond of you even thought he might not like to show it exactly..?”
“It makes it sound like you’re just trying to make me feel better.” I groaned.
“Hey.” She looked at me pausing her nails. “Over these past couple of months, you’ve become like my closest friend. Why would I lie to you?” She put the nail polish brush back into the bottle and placed it on the side table.
“Because you’re Lucy Carlyle and you’re the most mischievous person I know.” She gasped before throwing a pillow at me with her non-painted hand. “See! Mischief!” Maybe and hopefully Lockwood would know.
-
"Lockwoooooood." I wined. He was surrounded by books in the library. He jolted up at my voice.
"Oh um hi." His eyes were wide and tired.
"Lockwood you need a nap." I frowned. He has a few empty tea cups surrounding him.
"Nevermind that. What did you need?" He blinked a couple of times trying to wake himself up. He looked quite a mess I wasn't even sure I should be asking him this right now.
"If I tell you, you must take a nap after." He nodded and kept blinking.
"Do you know why George doesn't like me?" Lockwood sat up and looked shocked.
"He doesn't not like you." I groaned.
"Ugh, that's what Lucy said! But it's true he obviously dislikes me I can see it in his cold eyes." Lockwood cracked a smile.
"He does i promise. But if you want to make any of us happy in this house.. food is the way to go."
"Thank you!" I beamed. Not only did I get a tip for George but for all of them.
-
I placed all of the bags of food on the kitchen table. I took Lockwood's advice immediately.
I made sure to purchase my own ingredients. George was picky about people using his spices or things in the fridges without his knowing and even if you did ask it was most always a definite no.
I wanted to cook for Lockwood and everyone else! Just a small nice gesture. And also to make George like me more.
I’ve had little experience from cooking but just enough to make this recipe. My family made it constantly and kept the ingredients and steps on a little note card in the kitchen.
I did my best and followed along as well as I could. I added everything as it should be, no more no less.
The smell attracted Lockwood into the kitchen.
“Oh Y/n. Hi.” I hummed. “I thought George was cooking.”
“Nope. Thought I’d do something for you guys. You’ve had a long week. You better have taken that nap like I told you.” The agents had many back-to-back cases making them extremely exhausted. Of course, I packed their gear each and every day and made sure they had something in their system before going off to fight visitors.
And since George has been tired he hasn’t been cooking meaning they’ve only been eating out.
“That’s very thoughtful. And I have by the way.” Lockwood flashed his signature smile and raised his hands in defense. "May I help?"
"Oh no, Lockwood! You sit down while I do this for you okay?"
"You've been doing so much all month! And the month before that too."
"Thats my job Lockwood." I chuckled.
"Just let me help a little bit." I sighed. I knew I couldn't keep him from helping since this is his kitchen and the boy is stubborn.
I don't know how but in a matter of minutes he made it so astonishingly messy.
"Hey if you keep making it this messy you're cleaning it up."
"Okay okay!" He laughed. With the extra help, the dish was being made way faster than before. Even if his real purpose was to mess up the kitchen and I swear it was.
"Can you go grab Lucy and George for me?" Lockwood hummed and he pulled his lanky body out of the kitchen and up to the bedrooms.
I started to place all of the food onto the table and I made everything as neat and pretty as I could. I wanted tonight to be special and I wanted George to actually like me. Even if it was just for tonight that wouldn't be all that bad.
One by one the members of Lockwood and co trudged down the steps and landed into the kitchen. A small chatter filled the room and it felt really nice to have this again.
Since they were always eating out this week I could never really join them and besides I was never at the house past the time they left at dusk. I always did the chores during the day and I only stayed if they asked me to.
They all pulled out a chair and Lockwood grabbed drinks and such . Soon they started grabbing their own servings of the food and their faces morphed into a interested grin. Except George of course he kept his plain look but I swear I saw the corners of his cheeks twitch as if he were going to.
The actual part where they tried the food was nerve-wracking. I was worried they wouldn’t like this but as soon as George spoke out my worries faded away.
"This isn't bad." George hummed
"Yeah, this is amazing Y/n! Where did you learn to cook like this?" She shoveled some more food into her mouth.
"Eh you know just my parents." George glanced down at his food.
"You should stay in tonight." Lockwood offered. "The food was great like they said and I'm sure we could all find something to do together."
I thought for a moment. The plan sounded lovely but I was sure I had plans later tonight.
"Well, my parents must-" George abruptly stood up and stormed out of the room and out of the house. The door made a loud bang. We all sat in silence.
I didn’t know what happened did but I for sure knew it had something to do with me.
I wasn't sure what to do so I followed George out of the house and saw him sitting on the steps with his hand propping his head up. I didn't say anything I just sat next to him.
"I'm sorry for whatever I did to you. I don't know what I said or did but I just don't want you to be angry with me." George was silent for a moment his eyes glued to the street.
"I'm not mad at you." He finally said looking over at me. "I'm jealous." He admitted. I almost laughed but I was genuinely curious. I was doing Lockwood and Co's dirty work for gods sake. And of course, I wasn't mad about that that's what I signed up for. But in that moment I finally realized that look he gave me. It was jealousy.
"Jealous of what?" I frowned.
"Your relationship with your parents." He sighed. I was shocked but it made sense. All I've been talking about since I arrived here was my parents. I looked at him waiting for him to elaborate. "My parent's raised my siblings to be so successful they were all born engineers and I was just the odd child. When I got fired from Fittes they looked down on me they were so disappointed they barely even let me tell them why."
I was partly glad that George didn't hate my guts but another part of me felt sorrow for him.
"You're not an odd child." George scoffed at that. "It's true! You're so smart I've seen it. You crack most of the cases and Lucy tells me how quickly you find the sources. I've heard how hard you work to do research for this agency. Coming into this agency I had absolutely no idea how anything worked and now being around you and all the others… I feel like I know everything.” He nodded softly.
I scooted closer to him and he smiled.
“I know what it feels like to not fit in. In high school and even college, I was always a loner. I didn’t fit in with the other kids. Most of them would have parties and have fun but I was always sucked into my studies and that’s what made people not notice me. Well, I couple did and tossed me around for it but usually, they were drunk asshole boys who just wanted to get into a girl's pants.” George gave me a concerned look. “But here I feel like I have a place. Like I’m heard from and you guys understand me. And George… we all fit in together.”
It looked like something clicked in his brain. Like he finally realized something.
“You shouldn’t have to get your parent's approval to be successful.” I nudged him.
“I guess I just always paid attention to what I needed to improve on or do better I never realized what good was happening in front of me.” I patted his thigh. “I always preferred everything to be perfect. I think that’s why I made comments to you so much.”
“I’m also quite glad you don’t hate my guts.” He laughed. “I’m serious! I actually thought you hated me.”
“I’m sorry. I’m just not a big fan of the unfamiliar. But you have been working here for well over two months.”
“It’s okay I just hope we’re okay from this.” I pointed between us.
“Yes yes.” He clarified.
“Now can we go back inside? And it’s quite hot and I want a donut.” I complained. George stood up and offered a gentle hand. I took it and struggled a bit because I swear I was almost melted to the ground.
We entered quietly and went back down to the kitchen where we saw Lockwood and Lucy giving each other very lovey eyes.
Me and George exchanged very well knowing looks.
“You know if you two are going to keep looking at each other like that you might as well kiss.” He spoke out making them jump in shock.
“Yeah it’s really quite painful you know?” I crossed my arms.
“No, we’re not like that I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Lockwood fumbled with his words.
“Yeah, we aren’t doing anything.” Lucy flushed. “Yeah well since when are you two partners in crime?” I shrugged.
“Now.”

o fearless girl-dad-Karl-agenda leader, if it wouldn’t be too much trouble could we have Papaberg and Lottie having a tea party?
bisenberg agenda and the girl dad agenda.... i have so much responsibility i don't know if i can handle this!! regardless, nonnie, i was feeling inspired by this adorable scenario and decided to write a little ficlet for you. c: I hope you enjoy!! Long live Heisendad. Tea Party Words: 1201 Characters: Karl Heisenberg, Original character (daughter) Wife also makes a brief appearance just to troll him bc I couldn't resist Warnings: None, unless you aren't cool with swearing Note: This is an escaped/mechanic AU because I felt like it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Knees up to his chest and forced to wear a moth-eaten bow tie he’d found at the bottom of the closet, Karl Heisenberg had never felt more ridiculous in his life.
It had been a normal Sunday, one he’d planned on spending working on that puzzling noise coming from under the hood of his truck. But when Lottie had marched into the garage and loudly demanded that he attend her prestigious tea party, complete with lip wobble when he’d almost declined, he knew he was doomed. And so here he sat, a person who had once thought of himself as the very definition of rugged manliness, in a cluttered bedroom at the mercy of a six year old girl. Karl was afraid to breathe lest the child-sized chair fighting for its life beneath him finally gave way.
His daughter sat across from him, carefully rearranging a hodgepodge collection of mugs and cups she’d stolen from the kitchen. There was a depressing plate of crackers with no toppings or sides sitting sadly in the middle. They didn’t own a fancy pot or teacups, so the whole production looked less like an esteemed gathering and more like the kind of set a community theater with a $3.00 budget might put together. The other two guests - Lottie’s ever present teddy bear, yet again missing an eye and covered in faded marker doodles, and what was once a doll given to her by Alcina that now lacked a head and whose arms had been replaced by pipe cleaners - stared back at him in silent horror.
Karl tugged at his collar awkwardly. “So, uh, what’re we supposed to be doing? This might blow your little mind, but your old man hasn’t exactly been to one of these before…”
Lottie opened her mouth to speak and then paused abruptly. “I don’t know,” she said at last. “But I think we’re s’posed to talk about stuff. Y’know, gossip.”
“Gossip?” Karl chuckled. “What kinda gossip you got in first grade?”
“Sarah from art class said that Veronica’s mom chased her dad with a golf club because he kissed our gym teacher,” Lottie said without even a hint of concern.
“W-” Karl nearly choked. “W-what? Are you fuckin’- I mean, Lottie, honey. Don’t think we should uh, talk about that.”
She shrugged. “I thought it was funny.”
“It is. It’s real fuckin’ funny.” He was absolutely going to have to snoop out if there was any truth to this information - he always hated Veronica’s dad. White collar prick. He steeled himself, willing his mind to stay in dad-mode and not shift into catty-bitch-Karl. “But we shouldn’t say stuff we’re not sure about, okay? We should wait until we’re certain before trashing folks to hell and back. It’s only fair.”
Lottie gave no indication she’d been listening. He noticed she hadn’t deemed it necessary to put on a nice outfit herself despite insisting he don his “fancy clothes.” She wore her usual old knit sweater beneath her overalls, permanently stained from endless romps through the muddy woods out back or whatever projects she helped him out with. He felt rather overdressed, to tell the truth. She rummaged around on the floor, muttering incoherently to herself, until she produced a pitcher that wobbled precariously in her grasp. It was overfilled and practically as big as she was. Karl made to reach for it, freezing in place when he heard his chair creak ominously. “Tea, Papa?” Lottie said sweetly.
He nodded, not cognizant of what came out of the jug, so focused he was on not unintentionally destroying any more furniture. He still wasn’t forgiven for the incident with the porch swing, he was pretty sure. Karl slowly lifted the “#1 Dad” mug to his lips, and swallowed with a surprised flinch. He coughed awkwardly.
“Is this…. Mountain Dew,” he didn’t even need to ask. There was no other substance on earth with that unnatural neon green color. “I thought this was a tea party?”
Lottie huffed. “The tea is too high for me to reach! You people act like everyone around here is a giant. I can barely see out the window to scare the mailman when he shows up….”
“You could’ve asked for help, Butterfly.”
“No,” she said defiantly, pouring herself a cup and splashing liquid across the plastic table. “I don’t need your cherry.”
Karl blinked. “You mean… charity—“
“WHATEVER!” Lottie threw up her hands in exasperation. “Ugh! This whole idea was a mistake! I don’t even know why I thought this would be fun. This sucks. Even Carlos said so.” The teddy bear gazed forward, dead-eyed. “Hon,” Karl started, leaning forward again only to stop with a FUCK when his shins banged into the table. “Jesus…. Fuck that hurt. Okay, what I was going to ask was why you wanted to do this in the first place? This ain’t exactly your style if you know what I mean.” Lottie sank down in her seat until all that was visible were two little messy buns peeking over the table. “I dunno. I saw it on TV. I think it’s supposed to be something little girls like to do but man, this is stupid.” Karl frowned. “You don’t have to do something just because you ‘supposed’ to. You know that. I do stuff I’m not supposed to all the time and look how I turned out!” Kris’s choked laughter from down the hall - of course she’d been listening - had him ready to shout something snarky back, never one to give up a verbal spar without a fight. But Lottie spoke again before he had the opportunity. “Maybe I just wanted to hang out,” she admitted with a twinge of embarrassment. “You’ve been so busy lately.” Guilt gnawed at Karl’s insides. He had been working longer than normal this week - business was good, but by necessity it meant he was away from home more often. Every time he felt like he’d gotten the hang of this Dad thing, it turned out he’d managed to mess it up again. Not on the level of his own abysmal upbringing, of course, but it was a nagging fear all the same. One that still kept him up some nights. In spite of his messy exterior, he was a proud man - and he was not going to let the title on his mug fall to some other asshole. “I’m… f-flattered you wanna spend time with me,” he said, searching for the right words and finding none. Lord, he was bad at this. “Hey, I’ve got an idea. Let’s do something you’ll actually like. You wanna go burn some of those leaves your mom made me take earlier instead? And we can bust into my good candy stash she doesn’t know about–” “Keep telling yourself that, babe,” Kris called again. “...instead of eating bland ass crackers.” Karl made a mental note that he would need to change his hiding place yet again.
“Fuck yes,” Lottie bounded to her feet. “Oh, Papa, can we also torch that awful dress Aunt Alcina sent? Please please please–” “With pleasure, Butterfly.” Karl enjoyed a hearty laugh for a few seconds before the chair finally decided that it had had enough.
Maybe we're wrong
Pairing: Sasha Williams x Reader (platonic or romantic, up to you)
Genre: Angst, comfort
A/N: Somethin' different bc I just rewatched 5x13 and wanted to write for Sasha. I love and miss her so much ;(
Tumblr media
Parties were never your thing, even before. Now, after everything you’d gone through in the past year or so, the crowded room and mindless chatter were even harder to tolerate. You’d hidden yourself in the corner with Noah before Glenn and Maggie found you, urging you to join the rest of the group and try to have a good time. That’s what led you here, standing next to your friends, tuning out their words in favor of watching the rest of the room.
You saw Sasha in conversation with someone, an unknown woman, and just by looking at her you knew it wasn’t going well. Still, Sasha’s voice startled you when she spoke.
“That’s what you worry about?”
The room fell silent, her words ringing in the air as she pushed her way out. Stunned observers began whispering amongst themselves, no doubt commenting on how weird the new people were. You’d had enough.
Excusing yourself, you skirted the edge of the room until you reached the front door, letting yourself out and into the fresh air. You took a deep breath in, relief flooding you as you were met with silence. You checked the street, and there she was: Sasha, stomping home.
You jogged up to her, your footsteps falling in time with hers. She cast you a quick look before returning her gaze to the street, jaw still clenched from her unseemly exit.
“I’m fine,” she said.
You nodded. “I know.”
Your shadows fell across the street, silhouettes marching in sync under the streetlights. She cleared her throat to speak, her words stiff.
“You don’t need to come with me.”
“I want to,” you shrugged.
You let the quiet settle between you until you reached the house, taking the steps two at a time onto the porch. Opening the door, you were greeted with a dark house, everyone either at the party or elsewhere for the night. You closed the door behind you and switched on the lights.
Sasha hesitated in the entryway, side-eying you as if waiting for you to ask. You didn’t. Instead, you walked into the kitchen, opening the fridge to grab two beers from the pack Abraham stole. You handed her one silently, taking a sip of your own and settling into one of the dining chairs. Reluctantly, she sat beside you, bringing the bottle to her lips.
The drinks were half empty when she spoke. “This is all bullshit.”
You snorted, raising your eyebrows at the woman. “Yeah, it is.”
“These people haven’t had to worry about anything this whole time. While we’ve been out there, living in it, watching it destroy us. Watching it kill…” Her words trailed off, eyes glossing over. Images of the people you’d lost flashed between you. Bob, Beth, Hershel, Tyreese…
“I know. It sucks,” you said, placing your hand over hers. “But at least we’re stronger for it.”
She met your gaze, her eyes glistening with tears. “I don’t feel strong.”
You set your drink on the table and pulled her close, wrapping your arms around her until she slowly reciprocated. Your shirt dampened with her tears, body vibrating under her weighted shakes.
“It’s going to be okay. This place…it seems like bullshit now, but maybe it’s not. Maybe we’re wrong.”
Her sobs subsided, throat choking on her next words. “I hope we are.”
Alexandria felt like a pipe dream. The walls, the people, the artifacts of an old world. But it was also an opportunity. A chance to let yourselves heal, to build something better. The day would come where you wouldn’t need to fight anymore. Until then, you would hold each other close.
What about older mechanic eddie being invited over for dinner as a Thank you for helping your dad fix his car. The whole time he's eye fucking you and making little innuendos about you. You hope they are about you but you don't wanna get your hopes up since he's older and has barely spoken to you. This is obviously before they hook up. But like thought of reader pinning for him and thinking it's one sided. Her never ever telling him bc even though she likes him he kinda intimates her too.
older! mechanic! eddie x fem! reader
you have blessed me with dirty thoughts anon, and i love you for it. 😫 also, sorry for the wait !! had a conflict the past few days with my schedules.
here’s pt. 1 that’s connected to this imagine!!
suggestive themes under the cut
。・:*˚:✧。
“the car’s been fixed, honey?” you heard your mom from the kitchen ask your dad who’s just arrived from the mechanic shop along with the following of other footsteps by the front door. you guessed it was a problem with the engine or something, you didn’t really care. absently watching the tv as your ears picked up your dad’s reply.
“yeah. munson did a great job on this one. and he charged cheaper than that one shop up downtown.” your dad’s cheery voice caught your attention with the familiar name. you tried not to think of him as you continued your attention to the shit being blasted in the tv.
“that’s great, honey! he’s such a sweet man.”
“he is. i’ve invited him for dinner, darling. as a thank you.” your dad smiled as your eagerness turned to the max.
“oh, he’s here?” your eyes widened as the footsteps from the front door came in. you could distinctly smell of his cigarettes as your cheeks turned warm.
“munson! you can come in now, don’t be shy. my wife’s smitten with ‘ya.” your dad laughed as your mother chuckled, you remained silent seeing as mr. munson came in with a huge smile on his face. greeting your mother with a kiss on her cheek, your father patting his back. god, did he look good. in a leather jacket with jeans on, a tight shirt underneath it and his familiar stubbed jaw in view. as much as he looked intimidating, you knew your mother was hesitant about your next door neighbor, he looked very— metal, as what you can describe. your dad, however, didn’t care, he was open to him the moment he knew mr. munson owned a mechanic shop. let’s just say that they got along talking about cars. typical.
you’ve seen mr. munson from time to time. well—usually, you knew him from the moment he had just sat on his porch. you could remember that day very clearly. he had move in his trailer five months ago, you were a curious gal, you had heard from your dad that there’s a new neighbor that just moved next in. you would usually dismiss that, not wanting to be inclined with anyone, let alone another old grumpy neighbor you’ve reckoned from the start.
well, no.
he sat there, smoking, a cigarette on his pink lips. beard freshly shaved, still a stubble but so very hot. almost like that movie moment wherein this slowmo scene starts, the main character’s eyes would widen and slowly utter the word ‘wow’ in slow motion. you were almost like that except that was in your stupid mind. he looked good, so good with his knees spread apart while he sat on the chair in his porch. looking serious and calm. puffing away with his tank top on and work overalls tied to his waist. sweat glistens on his biceps, and god those tattoos. finger-cladded rings held the tiny cigar as he blew a smoke out, gulping afterwards as his adam’s apple bobbed deliciously.
and you wondered what he’d be like when fucking. is he rough? demanding? gentle? experienced in tongue and fingers due to his matureness and probably his previous relationships? it’s shameful to presume he’s a sex god, and you did wondered what size of his cock was underneath those dirty and grease stained overalls. you didn’t know but he looked like a guy who would capture anyone’s gaze. certainly he had catch your innocent ones. would he corrupt you perhaps? call you his girl? make you his?
you would’ve bended your knees for him right now if he wasn’t a stranger. well, that didn’t matter anyway you’d still suck him off. slut yourself out for a man you barely knew. a man who probably doesn’t go for girls like you. he certainly looked like he was a rocker, metal kind of guy. he’d go for women like pamela anderson or michelle fucking pfeiffer. bombshell girls! you were none of that. you’re just his neighbor. and as intimidating as he is to talk to— which you never did, you’ve never denied you have a massive crush on him, you thought it would go away after a month. but no, surprisingly. he just has that charm. and you couldn’t understand why. you’d just wallow this stupid feelings up knowing the thoughts in your mind will never happen.
“it’s nice to meet you, mrs. y/l/n.” mr. munson smiled as your mother let out a giggle. his voice was 100% better hearing in person. you could dream about this later.
“gods, if i knew my husband would be bringing you here for dinner. i would’ve cooked something more for the occasion!”
“there’s no need for that! i’m flattered, mrs. y/l/n. i already heard from your husband you’re a great cook. been dying to taste your dishes.”
“you’ll love it, munson!” your dad roared, kissing your mom’s cheek as she chuckled.
“you’re very charming, mr. munson.” your mother blushed as you rolled your eyes. even though he looked intimidating, at least he was very attractive. the conversation lasted as you didn’t want to pry at them. only it to be broken once your name was called. fuck.
“oh, and my daughter, y/n. i’m sure you’ve seen her.” your dad added as he immediately eyed you from the couch to greet the guest. you stood up, a little nervous as you shyly walked over to them, mustering out a small hello to the man. he seemed to find you cute as his grin widened.
“yes. i’ve seen her. pretty girl.” his voice lowered, as you met his eyes for a moment. pretty!? your cheeks went warm seeing his gaze stay on you as your dad roared out stories of you to him. he absently licked his lips, you swore you could’ve died right there and now. he just looks so hot. you averted his gaze, shameful already thinking about a man who’s a decade older than you. very shameful indeed.
and he called you pretty. you’d hope it was just not for kindness but to be true. you didn’t want to be that desperate knowing if it was true.
“y/n, honey, why don’t you set the table? and get a beer for your dad and mr. munson.” your mother requested as you obediently nodded. the evening transpired as the dinner table was loud as ever, your dad roaring fatherly laugh joining in as mr. munson seemed to charm him of his stories and jokes. you quietly ate your food, glancing at him from time to time to admire him. get a nice closer look at your girly crush.
he was seated next to your mom, your dad was seated always on the end of the table. you were seated in front of mr. munson, next to your dad, getting a nice view of him. he seemed nice, complimenting your mother’s cooking now. and he hasn’t talked to you which was no surprise. the older adults were talking and you’d guessed that he’d be focused on your parents.
“and i tell you this, munson—“ your dad roared as you munched on the peas and meatloaf. kinda boring you couldn’t do anything. the peas were a little sweet to your liking, probably your mother added a little too much sugar when she cooked it in salted butter to balance it out. you let out a quiet sigh, seeing the salt and pepper shaker in the far middle, you were about to move and grab it, yet a large hand came to view and handed it to you with ease. oh god, you’d have to thank him now! he grinned as you accepted it from his hand, blushing a bit seeing him eye you.
your gaze lifted up to meet the man’s eyes as you quietly thanked him in a shy tone. he still looked a bit intimidating to hold eye contact. “t-thank you, mr. munson.”
“no problem, sweets.” he says, winking. you weren’t sure if you felt your lungs being grip out but your heart was surely beating too fast. and under your shorts, you felt damp as ever. god, this man!
throughout the whole dinner, you’d be talking a bit as your dad would tell your childhood stories to his neighbor, who’d look at you from moment wherein you’d be glancing at him. it was embarrassing to think how many times you’ve met his eyes, chocolate brown orbs that would have a glint once you’d notice him staring back at you. your panties felt wetter, the shorts you were wearing were feeling tight. the whole room felt warm and you were slowly breaking in the inside.
“sweetie, grab a cold beer for mr. munson, will ‘ya?” your dad smiled as you nodded. standing up, a little aware of your shorts sticking to your ass. you should’ve changed earlier but that didn’t matter as you rounded to fridge just right behind you.
“you’re not married, munson?” your dad asked.
“no. still single. unfortunately.” he chuckled.
“oh, heaven’s why? you’re too handsome to be without someone, isn’t that right, honey?” your mom quipped as you opened the refrigerator, sighing at the gust of cool air brushing against your skin as you bended down to grab the beer in the far corner.
“well, i haven’t really settled in with someone yet. nothing really clicked back then.” his eyes stared at your ass, you grabbed the beer with a snicker seeing it in the far corner. unaware of the set of dangerous pairs of eyes staring at you with heat. your parents asked why as he replied, feeling his jeans tighten underneath the table,
his voice lowered as he gripped his fork tighter. “just waiting for the right one, i guess.” he replied, gulping seeing you stand up now. your ass still deliciously being hugged by those goddamn shorts. your parents unaware of their own neighbor eyefucking their daughter’s ass. you sat back down, giving him the beer as he gratefully grasped it, fingers brushing against yours. you looked at him seeing his gaze become somewhat hungry as you shied away. his touch sparking something inside your belly.
“thank you, sweetheart.” he grinned, you nodded, averting his stare, feeling a little naked in his gaze. that hungry aura to it, you didn’t know if you were overthinking or not but it must be all in your head that he’s being overly flirty without actually flirting.
“obedient is she?” your dad laughed as he patted your back as you smiled awkwardly. “she’s always been a good girl to us. helping us out even if she’s busy in college right now.”
“really? a good girl? haven’t broke rules yet, sweets?” he joked as your parents chuckled. you shook your head embarrassed as mr. munson licked his lips.
“nope. n-not yet.” you replied, still a little shy. even though it was a partial lie. you’ve rebelled only once and that was with a boy back in prom. usual teenage horniness. your parents didn’t know shit about that.
“keep it that away, sweetheart. you never know when you’ll be tempted to break some.” he added, smirking seeing you blush furiously knowing the meaning. your parents agreed to it as he never tore his gaze from you. intent to make you feel hot in your spot. it was so cute to see you squirm in his eyes, now he’s wondering if you’ll squirm and wriggle the same once your under him for real next time. your sly glances and stares were not so sly now seeing as he confirmed his suspicions the past weeks. he’s got you in his trap. but for now,
he’ll hold on to your obvious crush on him ‘til you get the courage to ask him for a good fuck that he’ll gladly agree.
The now cold wet patch of drool you formed on your boyfriend’s sweater woke you up when you unintentionally moved your head, your cheek accidentally resting on it. Scrunching your nose at the uncomfortable feeling, you rubbed your eyes with the back of your hands as you sat up on the couch, the red blanket falling on the floor in the process and Minho’s arm, that was holding you just moments ago, slid down your back slowly.
The only source of light in your living room were the Christmas lights that, thanks to the cats, were hanging randomly and messily around the Christmas tree, which already lacked half of the ornaments for the exact same reason. It took a while for your eyes to adapt to the light, as faint as it was, leaving you blinking as you stared at your sleeping boyfriend.
“Why do you all have to sleep with him? You guys know I’m your mom, right?”, you mumbled quietly at the three cats sleeping on top of Minho, unable to keep a smile from creeping in at the endearing sight, “But I guess I’d choose him over me as well.” you chuckle before placing soft kisses on the top of each cat’s head, stopping yourself next to your boyfriend’s face. His brows would furrow from time to time, and he’d mumble some gibberish you did not understand. You noticed how long his hair has gotten, some strands falling right under his eyebrows and covering his forehead completely. You took some of those strands to the side with the tip of your fingers, leaving your thumb resting right between his brows where his skin wrinkled, and you felt his expressions soften under your touch. You kept his hair out of your way as you kissed his forehead first, the tip of his nose second and his cheek for last, not wanting to aim for his lips without him being aware of it.
You picked the blanket from the floor before standing up and covering Minho’s body parts that didn’t have a cat laying on them, laughing because only his arms and the top half of his chest were actually coverable.
Leaving the living room tip-toeing to not wake him up, you are followed by Dori into the kitchen who sits right in front of the lowest drawer, the one where you kept their food. “I’m your favourite now that I’m next to the treats’ jar, huh?”, you receive a loud meow in return as you give the gray striped cat three small cat-biscuits. Whether it was Dori’s meow or the sound of the jar opening you didn’t know, but soon after you had two yellow cats bumping their heads on your legs and a grumpy Minho leaning against the doorframe, complaining about being left alone and cold on the couch.
His eyes were barely open when he sat down on the chair closest to the window, “Jagiya, what you doing?”, his voice was still groggy and lower than usual.
“Tea, you want some too?”, you turn around right after turning the electric kettle on, just to see Minho nod as he yawns and stretches his arms out. “We slept a lot today,” you chuckled looking at the ticking clock on the wall, “it’s already past dinner time, should we go get something to eat?”, you ask, crouching down to pet a very needy Doongie.
“I don’t know, yn, maybe we should stay in,” Minho pushed the curtain a bit to the side as he looked outside the window, “it’s snowing a lot right now.”, he says nonchalantly, earning a loud squeal from you as you jumped up and ran to the window to see it for yourself, Doongie running to the opposite side, scared of what has gotten into you.
“It is really snowing!”, you squealed once more and Minho’s eyes instantly diverted from the view you were so much adoring to you, bent over the window sill to get a better look at the snowflakes that slowly fell from the dark sky into the already formed carpet of snow on the floor.
“Come here.” He stretched his arm out, his hand getting a hold of your wrist to pull you onto his lap, your body easily complied, almost floating to his as if you were magnets of opposite poles. His arms naturally wrapped around your waist, his head rested on your shoulder, and if it weren’t for the boiling water he could’ve fallen asleep again right there. But you didn’t move either, the kettle long forgotten by you.
“We should go outside.” You say all of a sudden, looking into Minho’s dark eyes waiting for a reaction. But he just frowned.
“What? Why?”
“It’s the first snow!” You say it as if it is the most obvious reason in the world, but it wasn’t for your boyfriend apparently.
“I still don’t understand the connection.” He chuckled, leaning back against the chair.
“You know that saying that when two lovers spend the first snow together their love will last forever?”, you once again waited for a reaction, but you knew him, and he was too sceptical about all these sayings, so he just raised an eyebrow at you in response, “Come on! This is perfect! Not only is this the first snow of the winter but also our first snow together! We should really go outside and make this,” you pointed at both of you, “last.”
Minho wasn’t able to keep it in any longer, and as much as he wanted to take you seriously, the whole situation was too amusing to him so he bursted into laughter, while you just stared at him with crossed arms and a pout, “I’m serious, Minho.”
“Oh,” he stops laughing and his face drops, “you are serious. You never call me Minho.”, he feigns sadness, as he too begins to pout now, one of his many tricks for you to fall into his good graces again. “Can’t we just watch it from here? Where it’s warm? Doesn’t it work like this? We’re together. It's the first snow. And we’re looking at it. Shouldn’t this work?”
“Well, you’re a skeptic so I’m afraid it will only work if it snows into your face.”
“We could open the window...”
“No, we have to go outside, please! It will be so much fun I promise! Don’t you wanna jump into the fluffiness of the snow? While it’s still fresh?”, your eyes grow bigger along with your enthusiasm at the possibility of going outside.
“No, I really don’t. But if you want it that much I guess we can go, but just for a little!”, your whole face lights up like fireworks and you squeeze your boyfriend’s cheeks together before kissing him about a hundred times, mumbling thank you’s in between. “But tonight we’ll sleep naked.” Minho retorted as soon as you stopped your kissing spree.
“With underwear.” You tried to negotiate, already standing up and walking to the door.
“Sure, whatever, we’ll see.”
You put on your boots, beanie and coat way faster than Minho, running out the door while he still had one boot in hand, laughing at how messily you squeezed your pajama pants into the white boots.
The freezing air hits your face as soon as you step outside and you shiver excessively from the contrast of your warm skin. Pulling the zipper further up, you step out of the porch and into the white snow, giggling at the satisfying feeling of stepping on cold crunchy cotton candy. You stood there for a while, looking up with the palms of your hands out to feel the snowflakes melt on your skin, having to close your eyes in the process.
Not long after you feel a warm and soft fabric being placed around your neck and slightly covering your chin, “You dummy forgot this.” You hear Minho say behind you.
As you open your eyes and turn to face him you feel your heart flutter like after the first time you two kissed, and you like to believe that it was the power of the first snow perpetuating your love for each other. Or maybe it was just because of how cute he looked wrapped in his pale green scarf and beanie, the tip of his nose already red from the cold.
“Your nose looks cold.”, you giggled, approaching him with the intention of kissing it. However, as soon as your hands touched his cheeks he flinched, pulling away from you frowning.
“Jagiya! Your hands are freezing!”, he looked at you with furrowed brows, proceeding to take his own gloves off, “You know you have like three pairs of these as well, don’t you?” He just kept scolding you for forgetting your gloves as he put his on your hands instead. You wanted to protest, saying that he’d be cold now, but you didn’t dare. It wasn’t worth it, not with him. He’d just say he’d keep his in his pockets, you were the careless one who’d want to play with the snow anyway. So, you just accepted his kind offer, like you always did.
“Can I kiss you now?”, you held his hands in your now covered ones, putting them inside the pockets of your coat instead of his.
“You should. I’ll freeze to death because of you.” He tried to sound annoyed, even rolled his eyes at you, but the way his lips smiled said otherwise, and you just laughed at him as you held his cheeks before kissing the cold tip of his nose, earning a very quiet giggle in return.
You stayed there with your hands on his cheeks and your foreheads pressed together for a little, your breaths warming each other’s faces as the snowflakes kept falling and hanging on the fabric of your clothes.
“If we try to pull away and our foreheads stay glued, does it mean this first snow thing worked?” Minho broke the silence and you broke into laughter, pulling away to look at the grin on his face, slowly breaking into laughter as well.
“Guess it didn’t work then.” You say as your laughter dies down and he brings you closer to him again, his hands still inside your pockets, “But I do love you, as weird and annoying as you are.”
His cheeks start to turn red, and you know it’s not because of the cold this time, but still decide to leave the teasing for later, not wanting to ruin the moment as he pressed his lips against yours.
“As stupid as you are, I love you too.”
Vaguely along the lines of the ask about the PSOLC gang in the future a lil prompt if you wanna do a more grown up bit - Haley tells Aaron she’s pregnant and he fully freaks out bc of his past and his parents and he’s like ‘I have no idea how to be a dad’ and Spencer is like ‘I mean you did a pretty good job being mine’ and all that cutesy stuff!! 💙
okay but now I am EMOTIONAL and I love them all grown up so much.
also there's a big reveal I'm doing with Hotch later on in Patron Saint (it happens around their winter break/beginning of the second semester of school) but I desperately want to start writing drabbles using that plot element. and some people have guessed it already. so poll time: should I start writing things with the big plot point? maybe tag it as a spoiler for anyone who wants to avoid seeing it?
----------
He had only planned on taking his dog for a short walk, but he was so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t realize he had walked the couple of blocks to his sister’s townhouse until he was knocking on her front door.
He glanced around. “How did I get here?” he mumbled to himself.
Before he could back away, the front door opened. “Hi!” Spencer said cheerfully. He was partially dressed for school and his hair wasn’t combed. “Are you here for breakfast? James made pancakes before he left for the hospital.”
“Uh…no,” Aaron stammered. “It’s fine. I was just-”
“Bug, is that Aaron?” Alex called from the kitchen. “Tell him I need his help for a second.”
Spencer raked his hair out of his eyes. “Birdy needs your help for a second,” he said.
Aaron sighed heavily. “Yeah, I heard,” he said.
He followed Spencer into the kitchen, his golden retriever trotting happily at his heels. It was still slightly jarring that Spencer was nearly as tall as he was; he had stayed small for his age until he turned fifteen and then suddenly shot up six inches overnight. Now at seventeen he was all gangly limbs and voice cracks.
“Oh, Aaron, thank god,” Alex said. “Can you please give me a hand with the baby?”
“I told you I could help,” Spencer objected.
“You need to go to class, you’ll be late,” Alex said. She shifted Ethan on her hip. “And if I don’t get the baby ready for daycare, then I’ll be late for class too. And I’m the teacher.”
“Uh…what can I do?” Aaron said.
Alex brushed her hair back from her forehead; she’d gone back to her natural dark brown color but she’d kept it long. “Either get him dressed or help me with the dishes, please,” she said. “He’s gotten syrup everywhere. Baby-led weaning is going great, by the way.”
Aaron swallowed hard. “I’ll wash dishes,” he said.
Ethan babbled something, grabbing hold of Alex’s hair in his pudgy baby first, and she expertly untangled his little fingers. “Are you okay?” she asked. “You look a little pale.”
“Haley’s pregnant,” he blurted out.
Alex and Spencer stared at him. Aaron gritted his teeth. “Bubs,” Ethan said happily.
Alex blinked. “Yes, baby, Uncle Bubba,” she said, still staring at Aaron. “Well. That’s…unexpected. That’s good news though, right?”
Aaron groaned and plunked down in the nearest chair. “She’s going to have you guys over for dinner tomorrow and she’s going to make a big announcement, so please act surprised,” he said. “I wasn’t supposed to say anything about it.”
“Well, congratulations,” Alex said.
“Thanks,” he said, his mouth tugging down.
Spencer took Ethan from Alex, and she sat down next to Aaron at the kitchen table. “You sound a little shell shocked,” she said gently.
He slumped down in his chair. “I mean, we weren’t trying but we also weren’t not trying,” he said. “I just figured…I don’t know. I thought I had more time to…”
His voice trailed off. “More time to what?” she asked.
“I don’t think I’ll be a good dad,” he burst out. “I mean, it’s not like I got to grow up with a good dad, I didn’t get to see what that looks like. It wasn't even a garden-variety shitty dad, it was." He stopped. He didn't want to dive into all of that right that second, he knew Alex would know what he meant. "And the kid isn’t going to come out with an instruction manual about ‘how to not fuck up.’ I don’t think I can do it.”
“Nobody gets an instruction manual,” Alex said. “I mean, they let me and James leave the hospital with our two day old baby and I was sure that someone was going to come back and tell us that there was a mistake because there was no way we were responsible enough for that.”
“You and James are literally the most responsible people I know,” Aaron said.
“If James and I were so responsible, I wouldn’t have had to take a pregnancy test during your wedding reception,” Alex said dryly. She reached over and squeezed his hand. “It’s going to be okay. You’re going to be a good dad.”
“I don’t what I’m supposed to do,” he said. “How am I going to raise a kid?”
“I think you’ll be okay,” Spencer said. “I mean, you didn’t have any experience before I got to St. Thaddeus, and I think you’ve been a really good dad to me.” He handed Ethan to Alex. “I got the baby dressed, but I have to go to class.”
“Wait, wait, just a second,” Alex said. “You buttoned your shirt wrong again.” He leaned over so she could fix his buttons and accept her kiss on his cheek. “James will be off at six tonight and he said he’ll make dinner.”
“Oh, thank god, he’s a much better cook than you,” Spencer said.
“I’m not that bad,” Alex protested.
She looked at Aaron. “You’re not that great,” he admitted. Alex smacked him lightly on the arm.
“Bye, baby,” Spencer said, kissing Ethan on the cheek and making him shriek happily and bat at his face. He scratched the dog behind the ears. “Bye, Indy. Bye, Aaron. Today’s my chemistry lab so I’ll be back at four!”
He loped down the hall. Aaron looked at Alex. “He did turn out okay, didn’t he?” he said, an unexpected lump rising in his throat.
“He’s turned out great,” Alex said. “I mean, he’s seventeen years old in grad school and he still sleeps with his security blanket, but he’s a good kid. As well adjusted as we could hope for.” Aaron squeezed her hand. “Remember when we were high schoolers trying to take care of him when he was nine?”
“It was worse when you went off to college and it was just me,” Aaron said. “I was a single father.”
Alex laughed. “See, I think you’re more ready to be a dad than you think,” she said. “And you still have some time to get used to the idea. Nine-ish months.” She handed Ethan over to him. “And in the meantime, you can practice with this one. Just please don’t let him get into the syrup again.”
hii! can you please make a natasha x reader fic where they both have been dating for a while and it's natasha's birthday and the reader surprises her with a brand new suit that she made herself and nat cries bc she never got a meaningful gift and the reader also surprises her with cake and more romantic gifts. you could make the reader tony's sister so it would make more sense that she's good at making suits but you don't have to!! thank you sm i need sum cute natty 😫
Birthday Suit
Warning: Use of the pet name Sunflower,
Match: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Genre: Fluff
A/N: So this one was fun. I hate my birthday but this actually was cute. I’m trying a new way of presenting the dialogue. aesthetically it looks better but I’m not sure how it reads. I've seen other authors do the dialogue on completely seperate lines so just lmk if this is good.
Word Count: ~2.5 k
Summary: It’s Natasha's birthday, and despite her acting like she hates it you shower her with love.
The smell of cooking cake fills the compound. Even from the workshop, where you are, the sweet scent permeates the air. You have been baking for long enough to know what that smell means, the cake is almost done.
You check the clock on the wall. 2:44. Nat would be home at 5.
“Shit. I need to get this done,”
You shake your head and set down your wire cutters. The list of everything you need to get done before she arrives rolls through your mind.
It was her birthday. She didn’t know her actual birthday so years ago she made one up. The chosen date was a closely guarded secret she only shared with those she trusted most. For the most part the assassin didn’t even celebrate. When you had asked a week prior what she wanted to do she had brushed you off claiming,
“I don’t really care. As long as I get to be with my love.”
She had kissed you, hoping the kiss would fog your mind from any further planning. Unfortunately for her you were a big schemer, always going as big as you could for your friend’s birthdays.
You walked out of the workshop, making one last longing look at her unfinished gift on your messy work table. No one was around today. The one Saturday everyone had off a month. Natasha had gone shopping with Wanda, a plan conncocted to give you plenty of time to get everything ready.
“Friday do you mind turing the oven off?”
you asked the A.I. as you headed down the hallway.
“Of course Agent Y/L/N,”
entering the kitchen you picked up a discarded list of everything that needed to be done. Two items were crossed off “Bake the cake, movie fort.” The unmarked items looked at you teasingly and you felt anxiety rise in your chest. What if you didn’t get everything done and this birthday made Natasha hate birthdays even more? You shook your head trying to chase off the thoughts and went to the oven.
“One perfectly baked chocolate cake coming up,”
grabbing an oven mitt you pulled the cake out of the oven and placed it on the counter. Carefully you coerced the cake from the pan and set it on the cooling rack.
Back when Wanda and you ventured into the baking realm you had begged Tony to put in a floor to ceiling blast chiller. The kind that was always on baking competitions. He reluctantly agreed, with the price of always having to give him a taste of your creations. The freezer was immensely helpful in tight circumstances. You were more than grateful for it now.
You set your cake into the freezer and went to the pantry to pull out all the ingredients you needed for icing. You poured the powdered sugar and placed the butter into the bowl. When you turned on the mixer a cloud of sugary powder exploded in the kitchen. You blinked and licked your lips. Bringing a hand up to wipe your face, you laughed hard. Sugar covered the entire counter and floor beneath you, not to mention your already grease stained clothes.
“Wow, is my little sibling doing coke in here? And without me!”
a snarky voice sounded from across the room. You opened your eyes and squinted at your older brother with a scrunched nose.
“Can it Tony,”
You growled, grabbing a towel and wiping yourself off the counter. Tony laughed at you and opened the freezer to look at what sweet treats awaited him tonight.
“A cake? Are we celebrating?”
He laughed and made a teasing face. You rolled your eyes and called out to Friday.
“Can you order me four containers of icing from the store to be delivered?”
“You got it!”
her chipper accented voice came over the audio. You threw the towel in the sink and landed a punch in Tony’s arm as you left to go change.
“You better not eat any of that cake until Nat has had at least one slice. I know where you keep those rare magic cards you think no one knows about and I will not hesitate to cut them all in half,”
He looked at you in shock. Whether it was because you knew about the secret stash or because you would dare cut them you weren’t sure. The only way to get Tony mad was to go for something he couldn’t replace with money.
“YOU WOULDN'T FUCKING DARE,”
You run away as he climbs out of his chair and chases after you. You run into your room and lay on the door to push back a Tony who was only a few steps behind you. When you finally force the door into the frame you turn the lock and fall to the floor laughing.
Angry mumbling came from the other side. Tony pounded on the door twice before, defeated. walking away. After catching your breath you pulled your sugar stained clothes off and changed into the outfit you’d set aside that morning.
“Y/N the man just arrived with the icing,”
Friday called out to your room and you nodded.
“Thank you Friday. Have him set the bags in the kitchen,”
Friday hummed in agreement. You stood up and looked in the mirror checking yourself out. When you were satisfied with the look you unlocked the door and turned to the right. You really needed to finish Natasha’s present. You wouldn’t even have time to test it properly. You really hoped the phrase “it’s the thought that counts,” was true. Her gift could be something that got you endless kisses or a real crash and burn.
Making it to the lab you set your hand on your head and groaned. You really hoped it worked. It was so pretty. You grabbed the wrapping paper and box and set it in with a kiss.
“Natty, I hope you like it,”
The gift finished the fort built, and cake baked, there was only one thing left to do, ice the damn cake. You could bake sure, but only Wanda ever mastered the art of making it look beautiful.
When you made it to the kitchen Tony was nowhere in sight and a plastic bag with what you assumed was icing was set on the counter. You pulled out a butter knife and dug in, hoping this looked somewhat edible. Wanda was the one who was skilled at decorating. You could make the elaborate pastry chef treats, but you could never handle the finer details of making it look pretty.
~
You were in the workshop when Friday alerted you that Wanda and Natasha were home. A feeling similar to anxiety or excitement fluttered in your chest. This was the first time you’d celebrated her birthday with your girlfriend. You wanted her to like birthdays again. To feel as special and loved as you can pour out for her.
“Thank you Friday. Please tell them I’m in the workshop and will be heading to the game room shortly,”
You set down the gauntlet you’d been fixing while waiting for them and brushed off your outfit. Your eyes searched over the shirt for stains, and when you were satisfied you were clean you headed to your “party”.
Wanda was the first to come in. She threw her hands to her face and “oood” and “aweeed” over the spread you had out.
“Y/N your cake! it’s…. adorable,”
you punched her in the shoulder with a frown. She fell over laughing.
“I TRIED! and I’m sure it tastes amazing.”
you crossed your arms and pouted. She sat back up still laughing and patted your back.
“She’ll love it Y/N. Even if it had ‘fuck you Nat’ written on top she’d love it,”
you smiled at the complement and stopped pouting. You were explaining the technology behind Nat’s present when the woman of the hour finally walked in.
“What is all this? Are y’all having a party? and didn’t invite me,”
she sat down next to you intertwining your fingers with hers and kissing your shoulder. You smiled as the excitement anxiety mix returned.
“Actually…. it’s for you,”
You smiled and kissed her hands. She looked genuinely surprised. You really hoped the feeling was happy excitement.
“oh- Y/N y-you remembered? and you didn’t have to do any of this. I thought I told you i didn’t care to celebrate,”
you felt Wanda stand up to leave with a pat on your shoulder. You smiled up at her and turned back to Natasha.
“I know I know, but I wanted to do something special. You love me so well and work so hard all the time. You deserve a day that’s unapologetically about you,”
You knew if Natasha didn’t have such complete control of her emotions she would be crying. The agape mouth gave that away. You smiled and leaned forward pulling her into a deep, intimate kiss. Feeling her smile against your lips you pulled away and leaned your forehead against hers.
“I love you Natashka. I will do anything to make you feel like Queen of the world,”
with that she started crying. You frowned and wiped away the tears.
“I really hope those are happy tears,”
she nodded quickly and smiled, sniffling a little.
“Very very happy tears. happy ‘I don’t know what on Earth i did to deserve you’ tears,”
“It is I who does not deserve you. The Great Black Widow. I’m just here to make you smile, it’s my life goal,”
you bowed as much as you could sitting down. Placing a peck on her lips you turned back to the presents and pointed.
“Which one should we open first?”
she pondered and then picked up a small box. Nimble fingers unwrapped the box and pulled out a Ring. You had managed to get her size weeks earlier fitting one of your own on her finger when hanging out. She looked at the little silver band with a carved sunflower at the head. A smile bloomed across her face and she hugged you.
“Oh my goodness Y/N, it’s so pretty…,”
she slid it onto her fingers, finding the one it fit best and stared at it. You hugged her shoulder and kissed her cheek.
“Well, you are my sunflower. It’s just a reminder when we are away,”
Her eyes lit up at the nickname. It wasn’t as common for you to use it as baby or sweetheart, but sunflower had always been her favourite.
She looked at the other boxes realising they were also for her. You picked up the next box, a medium sized one and handed it to her. You were saving the biggest for last.
She was just in awe and set it down before unwrapping it. Her hands snaked around your waist and pulled you flush to her. Her soft lips pressed kisses to your jaw and she set her head on your shoulder.
“Thank you so much Y/N, I- no one has done something like this for me ever,”
She hugged you tight again and then let go picking back up the present. You nodded and kissed her head. Pushing some hair out of her face you stroked her hair softly. Her hands once again unwrapped the gift. She squeaked at the sight of the book underneath the paper.
Natasha never got to read much on her own accord growing up. The red room picked out books for her education but never anything she would actually enjoy. Long ago Natasha had told you the first book she read after getting out of the red room was Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and since then she adored the book. You had found, and paid for with Tony’s credit card, a first edition of the book. The auction was rough but you needed that book for Natasha.
Natasha stared at the book once, again jaw hanging open. She wiped her hands on her pants before handingly the book with utmost care. She flipped it over and ran her fingertips over the indented letters and gold illustration on the front.
“Y-you like it? I know you said you like Alice in Wonderland. It’s uh… actually a first edition copy. Tony was about ready to kill me when he saw me pay for the bid,”
You laughed nervously. She turned the book around again and then set it on the coffee table. She tackled you and pushed you back on the couch kissing all over your face. You yelped in surprise then grabbed her hips, catching her lips and kissing her roughly. She melted into the kiss but you pulled away.
“As much as I love this Natty, let’s open your last gift and eat some cake,”
You sat up and pulled her so she was in your lap. You placed a soft kiss to the back of her neck as she reached for the last gift. It was heavy but the assassin had no trouble lifting it.
“After that we can makeout in the fort I made. yeah?”
You wrapped your arms around her waist and pulled her close to you, rubbing circles on her thigh. She laughed and nodded, blushing profusely.
“I like that idea Y/N,”
She opened the box and pulled out the gift you put months of effort into. This time her reaction wasn’t as instantaneous. You helped her pull all the pieces out and set it on the coffee table. She looked at it slightly perplexed.
“I’m sorry… I’m not exactly sure what it is,”
She pouted and looked at you. You smiled and nodded knowing she wouldn’t. You set it out so she could see all the parts.
“Well… uh it’s a new suit. You always say that you don’t like how tight and revealing your other ones are so I kinda beefed this one up so it focuses on functionality,”
She nodded along as you explained. A look of understanding crossed her face as she pulled at the sleeves.
“ohhhhhhhh. That makes so much sense. I- Y/N what the fuck. I can’t express it enough. You are the best, you listened to me and used it to give me the best gifts i’ve ever gotten. You are the most thoughtful partner,”
You beamed. The feeling you knew she was struggling to express, it was exactly what you’d wanted her to feel. Loved, heard, appreciated, and cared for.
“I’m glad sunflower. That’s what I wanted. To make you feel as good as you deserve. D-do you mind if I tell you a bit about the features? I didn’t have time to test some of them so I will need to do that before you take it into combat,”
She nodded and slid off your lap to look at you. You patted her legs and squeezed then held at the sleeve first.
“Well of course it wouldn’t be a suit for the Black widow without gauntlets. These can change through three different modes for different levels and types of stuns also a laser if you need that for aiming,”
You flipped on the laser and pointed it at a pot then turned it back off.
“Also I made it so the suit can suction to your body but be limp to put it on. a lot easier to slip on ya know. And there is mobile but thick padding on all major points of contact for falling. Shoulders, hips, elbows, knees, the like.”
Natasha ran her hands over the surprisingly thin padding and smiled.
“Wow baby that’s… amazing,”
You nodded and picked up the bag attached to the back.
“And uh there’s a parachute built in as well as pockets up the legs, arms and boots so you don’t have to have the belts. They are sorta magnetic so you can like open them easily but when they are closed everything stays in. OH AND THE BOOTS,”
You started to ramble on about the energy absorbing boots you worked with Shuri on that would allow Nat to drop from double the height of a normal human with no damage to her knees or feet. Nat just stared at you hungirly.
“Hey baby, I seriously appreciate the gift. It’s honestly the best thing I've ever gotten. Why don’t we try it out tomorrow and you can show me EVERYTHING. For now we can… sit in the fort like you said,”
She had a cocky smile and you blushed at her antics. You nodded quickly, cutting off your rambling. Her hands found your waist and she pulled you off the couch and into the pillow fort you had built.
“I uh- got a movie for us to watch. Do you want to?”
She nodded and smiled. A look that very much meant “Yes. That's sweet, but I doubt we will be watching it.” You pulled her into your lap, setting your hands on her waist. She draped hers over your shoulders and rubbed light circles on the back of your neck. You leaned forward and trapped her lips in a kiss. Soft but full of passion.
The rest of that night was spent watching the movie and kissing. When you finally remembered the cake a slice had been taken out of it, with
“You were busy with Romanoff so I took what I was owed. The package has been moved, try getting me now little sibling.”
On a sticky note beside it. Natasha had laughed, unsure exactly what had happened but sure it was a story she would much enjoy hearing.
She had moaned over how good the cake was after laughing at how “Adorably” it was decorated.
“So Nat… did I make this birthday worth celebrating?”
She smiled wide and nodded.
“Yes Y/N, if every birthday was like this I would never want to stop celebrating.”
Can I request a fluffy bucky x tall reader where the reader is shy/introvert and doesn't really get bucky's flirting until bucky kisses her and tells her he wants her to be his.
Crush
You walked alongside Wanda and Natasha as you all walked into the compounds movie room, carrying different blankets and pillows as you all began setting up the room as the boys started gathering the snacks. Making sure each chair and couch each had some of their own blankets and pillows, trying to make the room as comfy as possible before starting the movie.
Once each space was covered, the girls began taking their seats, Wanda sitting in the loveseat and saving a spot for Vision before you and Nat sat on one of the long couches, curing their feet up and each grabbing a blanket, hearing the voices of the boys getting louder the closer they grew closer to the movie room.
Nat smirks at you after hearing the soft sound of a certain super solider and pops up, moving to your other side and sitting on a nearby recliner, “ask Bucky to sit with you” Nat whispers, quickly looking over her shoulder to see if they have entered the room yet.
“What? Are you insane?” You laugh out, face turning red and feeling your heart race at the idea, “no way-“
“Snacks have arrived!” Sam laughed boisterously, Steve and Bucky letting out chuckles behind him as they all carry in a variety of different drinks and snacks.
Wanda pops up, grabbing some snacks from Vision before leading him back to their spot, a smile growing on her face as he pressed a quick kiss on her cheek, both of them cuddling up under the blanket together. Meanwhile, everyone else got up and grabbed some various snacks and drinks before returning to their spots as Peter presses play on the movie.
"Can I sit here?" You hear a voice ask, quickly looking up from your spot on the couch and nodding as you see Bucky standing in front of you, offering you a soft smile, before sitting down next you.
You felt like your body was on fire and it was a struggle to focus on the movie when you were sitting inches apart from him and you wanted nothing more then to just simply move your head slightly to the side, lay your head on his shoulder and take in the intoxicating scent of his cologne.
Suddenly, you felt his shoulder nudge yours, causing you to look up at him quickly giving him a confused look and he let out a soft chuckle, "sorry, what?" you asked, cheeks turning slightly pink.
Your face only grew redder as he scooted closer, an arm coming up around the back of the couch and he leaned in closer, "have you seen this before? I know it's only like 10 minutes in but I'm lost." he softly chuckled in your ear, pulling back and meeting your eyes and you found yourself getting lost in them all over again.
You simply shake your head, a soft giggle leaving your lips as you looked back to the screen and then back at him, "I don't really know what's happening either." you replied, giggling slightly.
You hope you kept your facial expression under control when you felt him pull at your shoulder, body coming closer to his as he replied, "glad I'm not the only one that's lost... maybe we can watch it over again sometime?"
Before you could reply, you both were suddenly hit with a pillow, causing your friends around you all to laugh as Sam sent you both a glare, "You two don't know what's happening because your too busy flirting! Pay attention!"
***
For the rest of the movie, Bucky had his arm resting around your shoulder, yours touching him just slightly from when he pulled you a bit closer to him, repeating the movement whenever he commented on something in the movie, making sure to talk quieter to try to avoid another pillow being hurdled your way.
Now, you were all gathered in the living room, sitting in a circle as you were all chatting together, sharing funny stories from the last mission that some of them went on.
"I'll be right back," You spoke to the group, "I'm going to go get another drink, anybody want anything?"
After a couple more requests, Nat decides to join you and you both make your way to the kitchen, grabbing drinks for yourselves and preparing some for you and your friends.
"You and Bucky looked cozy." Nat began, giving you a teasing glare, "I don't see why you don't ask him out, y/n, you clearly are into each other!"
"You're insane." You laugh in reply, shaking your head, "All he did was sit next to me! You and Thor were talking during the movie too but I don't think you two were flirting."
"Well, we also don't look at each other with heart eyes."
"Okay, now I know you're insane." you reply, laughing again and looking at your friend, "there's no way that he could ever like me back, we're just friends, Nat."
"I don't know, you're the only one other than Steve and Sam that he really talks to! Everyone else just gets the grumpy stare!" She explains, crossing her arms over chest as she tries to convince you, "and he gets you coffee all the time and he always wants to sit by you! All you have to do is make a move!"
"I-I don't know..." you shrugged, "it's just, why me? There's no way I could just walk right up to him and do something... I get way too nervous and I just feel like-"
A sudden knock on the wall causes you both to look over at the sound, seeing Bucky standing there, giving Natasha a nod as she looks over at him and then his eyes met yours, giving you a smile, "just wanted to see you if you two needed any help."
"Oh, we were-"
"Perfect!" Natasha interrupts you, looking at the two of you with a smile before grabbing a couple drinks and already heading out the door, "You wanna help y/n put together the last of the snacks? Thank you!"
The next thing you knew, it was just you and Bucky standing there in the kitchen together and he was standing next to you at the counter. You stood together in silence, preparing another snack platter and getting some drinks on a try to take out to everyone.
"y/n?" Bucky suddenly asked and you could still see his hands moving a few more moments before turning towards you and wiping them clean on a nearby towel and throwing it back on the counter, "I was wondering, I remember you talking to me about that new little antique store and I was thinking maybe would go and stop at the coffee shop nearby? Make a day of it?"
"Y-Yeah!" you squeaked, looking over at him quickly before shyly looking back down at your hands, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear before looking back at him, grabbing the now prepared snack trays, "is that what you guys were talking about out there?"
Bucky sighs, looking up at the ceiling before back at you, grabbing the tray from your hands and setting it down on the counter, making a bit of a mess as he moves quickly standing in front of you, one arm on each side as he boxes you in.
His eyes met yours intensely, his eyes trying hard to analyze your face as he furrowed his eyebrows as you stood frozen, standing against the counter as he stood in front of you.
"I like you. I really care about you and I want you to be mine, y/n. I want to spend time with you, just you, not with everybody else." He whispered, "I thought that I was making it clear but... if you don't feel the same way I completely understand and I'll give you space, but I just... I want you to be mine."
You stood slightly frozen, eyes widened as you looked into his eyes, "R-Really?" You whisper back, heart racing as you try to convince yourself that this is real, "you do? I-I... I like too, Bucky."
You watched as he had a huge smile grow on her face, head falling forward a bit and he pulled his right hand back, running it through his hair as he looked at you, a huge smile covering his face and he stepped closer to you, his face growing serious again.
"Can I... Can I kiss you?"
You nodded instantly, biting your bottom lip as your chest rose and fall rapidly in anticipation, "yes." you whispered out, "yes, please.
His right hand comes up to your face in an instant his eyes staring into yours before leaning forward, his lips slotting over yours and you instantly melt into his body. Kissing him back, your hands coming up and rest around his shoulders as his left hand meets your waist.
You both stood kissing under the yellow kitchen lights, the kiss soft yet passionate, the both of you dreaming of this moment for so long and yet somehow, it was better than either of you ever dreamed of.
Pulling back, your eyes meet and you both give each other shy smiles and you cover your hands with your face, trying to hide your blush from him and his hands come around your wrists, pulling them away and he looked down at you.
“You're so beautiful..." He whispered, leaning forward and pressing a long kiss on your forehead before pressing another on your lips, "so... how about that date tomorrow?"
It's Better When The Sun Goes Down — Nanami x Reader
This is a piece for the Anilysium Server NSFW Collab! Make sure to check the masterlist to see other writer's works! This month's prompt was: "I can't hold back anymore"
I'd like to dedicate this fanfic to one of my dearest and closest friends. I'm not a Nanami simp myself, but they are. And I have fun writing for Nanami, and also I love writing angsty things and flawed characters. Reg, I hope you enjoy this as much as you enjoy my more casual writing.
(it's pink bcs youre Chancho)
Word Count: 5.4K
Warnings: Mentions of breakup and heartbreak, alcohol and drug consuption, public sex, ghosting, lots and lots of angst. This does not have a happy ending. This is also non proof read bcs I kinda left it to the last minute I'm sorry, I'll go back and edit it when I am not in a rush dcj nd
Summary: Nanami’s return to the Sorcerer life wasn’t so bad. It could be better if Gojo wasn’t determined to get him back with his ex. As Nanami tries to get on good terms with them, things get out of control, only to end up where it all began.
I made this playlist while writing, in case you wanna listen to it while reading. Preferably listen to it without the shuffle, but you can hear it on shuffle, no biggie.
Tumblr media
Nanami had forgotten how painfully unbearable Gojo could be. His return as a Sorcerer had been nothing out of the ordinary for a Sorcerer's standards. Missions here and there, or watching over some of Gojo's students. But God, he had surely stepped out of the line this time.
He couldn't even begin to explain how much he hated his current situation. Fighting by your side for the first time in years felt like rubbing hot oil on an open wound. The uncomfortable ignoring the elephant in the room between you two, as you two tracked and fought what felt like a million Curses.
When the adrenaline was at its peak, it felt almost nostalgic; though he'd then remembered everything else and immediately made his own reality bitter and awkward. Overshadowed by the advantage of years of experience ahead of him made him resent you even more. He knew it was childish and pointless to keep remembering everything that happened between you two, but that bittersweet memory would most likely keep him at bay.
You were still strong, witty, fearless, reckless and quick to act and defend yourself. The way you moved looked more swiftly and coordinated than you did back in your student days. Almost as if you were a professional dancer. He hated every bit of it. He couldn’t stop looking at you, thinking about you, and the possibilities of what you two would have become.
After the mission was over, no words were exchanged between you two. Aside from the: "Are you alright?" He told you as you simply gave him a thumbs up as you caught your breath drenched in sweat. An entire ride in an uncomfortable silence, until he reached the school and you got out of the car.
"Thanks. You did a great job. Keep it up" You said. Cold, and straight to the point. Closing his car door before he could reply. And soon, you were gone.
As Nanami tried to get his mind off the mission, Gojo made it difficult. He called him to ask for the details of the mission. He seemed amused and intrigued, as clearly you hadn't told him shit. And honestly, he could understand why. Gojo was meddling on things that weren’t his business, and things that had died a long time ago.
"Why are you interrogating me, Gojo?" He asked as he pressed hisnfingers on the bridge of his nose. "Ask your underling…"
"Because that jerk left for the bar as soon as they arrived" He explained. "And I know better than to annoy a drunk [Name], It took me a while but...I finally learned my lesson" He chuckled. “I knew they could hit hard, but damn, I had a big ass bruise…” Nanami could almost hear his stupid grin.
"You make it sound like it's a recurrent event" Nanami pointed out, slightly surprised as he didn't know you were a drinker.
"Oh, Nanami-kun, you really know nothing huh?" Gojo said, smiling widely as he had managed to manipulate Nanami into asking.
"Know what?" Nanami hissed as he now swore he could hear Nanami creepily grinning at his phone.
"No, nothing!” Gojo said as if it were nothing; trying and succeeding at peeking at Nanami’s curiosity “I'm not gonna talk over depressing things on the phone. Gotta go, bye! Kith kith, Kento-kun" Gojo sang and hung up, as he smirked, proud of his little mischief. He sighed deeply as he stretched in his bed. "Soon, those two will be back together" he smirked to himself.
Nanami hissed a curse under his breath as he locked his phone and threw it on his bed and went to the kitchen. If he had understood well, Gojo had just hinted at a possible drinking problem. He tried shaking his mind off of it. You couldn't, could you? You weren’t a drinker...You weren’t the last time he saw you. You were able to party and have fun without having to intoxicate yourself.
You were wild, cheerful, unpredictable. Everything he was not. And that’s what had made him fall in love with you back in your school days. You were so laid back, he could feel it permeating into him when you two hung out. The few times he’d broken rules was because you’d been the bad influence, however, you somehow managed to get away with it, and leave him with some distant memory in which he felt actually glad to be alive. He usually felt like he was walking on a cloud stuck in time, being present and enjoying the little things that made his everyday memories.
He’d really screwed up after breaking up with you...if he could call that a breakup... His life took a dramatic turn. And then, he turned his back to this world, and got immersed in the gray life the average man in Japan had. Away from what he's familiar with, away from his friends, away from you.
And now, apparently, you had a drinking habit. He wondered if he had caused it, or if he was one of the reasons behind it. The guilt started creeping in. The same guilt and regret he felt after ghosting on you. Not being able to bring himself to properly end things with you.
The guilt he’d managed to swipe under the rug for so many years creeped back out, and followed him around as the afternoon went by. After having a shower, changing into more comfortable clothes and in a lame attempt to cook dinner, he decided to test his luck. He put on a dark button down shirt and decided to go to the bar closest to the School. He felt the naive hope to find you there. However, if you had an actual problem, then his chances to see you there were higher.
Such was his surprise to find you there, trying to get rid of some insistent guy who kept talking to you despite your very obvious lack of interest. Before you could spot him, he watched you aggressively turn to the guy and talk to him in a rather rude tone. Sounding almost like a moody sailor as the guy’s face soon was washed with horror and disgust and walked away. As you turned your face back to your drink, your eyes scanned the bar, finally spotting him.
“Oh god” You whined as you pulled the glass to your lips. “It’s too early to be this drunk…” You hissed.
“Mind if I sit here?” He asked, pointing at the chair in front of you.
“Tell Gojo to go fuck himself…” You snapped at him as you stood up and stumbled your way to the bar asking for a refill. Nanami looked at you, feeling slightly sorry for your tipsy state, as he’d never seen you like that. And he knew being mad and drunk was never a good combination. As you turned around with your glass and made your way back to your table, you gave him a slightly repulsed smile. “You’re still here…”
“Gojo didn’t send me here, if that’s what you’re thinking” He replied.
“He might as well have manipulated you into doing so, has that crossed your mind?” You said with a sassy tone as you sat back down. “Why are you still standin’?”
Nanami took that as an invitation as he ignored your last comment, trying to refuse the idea that Gojo had manipulated him.
“Rough day, huh?” He said as you nodded and stared at your drink.
“Look, Kento. I’m glad that you’re back. I really am. You’re strong, and you’re smart…” You began. “But I’m gonna cut the chase, I’m kinda annoyed too. Ever since you got back, Gojo has been sticking his snobby nose into my business” You explained. “Many of the missions he sends you in, I’m supposed to be there as well, but manage to get busy by then and not go”
“So you’re actively avoiding me?”
“Yes” You replied bluntly. “Mostly because Gojo is trying very hard to bring us back together. But no, I learned my lesson the first time” You said taking a sip to your scotch, feeling it smoothly sliding down your throat, no longer feeling the burn from the alcohol.
“I haven’t apologized for that…” Nanami began.
“Don’t” You interrupted him. “It’s better this way”
“Are you sure? Because you still seem to have an issue with it…” Nanami said, managing to read you like an open book like he always did. He still had that ability.
You glared at him, angrily as you opened your mouth to snap back at him, but your mind was foggy and a big portion of your brain was focused on the little details surrounding him. His black shirt, the first buttons undone. His thick wrists, one of them hiding underneath a fancy looking watch, his blond hair pushed back, his sharp features...And god, his smell. The smell of his cologne luring you in like a fly to honey. Since any words made it to your mouth, your next step was to take another sip.
“You’re drinking too fast” He pointed out.
“None of your business” You said standing up and taking your wallet out and leaving a few bills on the tale. “I’m out” You said coldly and walked out of the bar.
Nanami sighed, frustrated that he hadn’t managed to get anything out of interaction. Aside from the pretty clear fact that you disliked him. However, he didn’t think of the possibility of you resenting him so much because you still had feelings for him.
As you walked out of the bar, the chilly wind hit the back of your neck, making you shiver. You cursed, knowing it was going to make you feel drunker faster. You made your way to the school with long steps, trying to make it to your dorm before your last drink made it to your head. Despite the cold wind, the hot tears in your eyes in a way kept your face warm. As you tried to keep yourself from crying, you heard steps behind you.
“Wait” You heard Nanami’s voice calling behind you as you stopped on command, against your own will. You swallowed the lump on your throat and managed to keep the tears still in your eyes, as you refused to look at
him. “At least let me walk you home. You can’t walk on your own like this…”
“Oh, so now you care?” You said turning around and looking at him, giving him a smug smile. “You’ve changed” You scoffed bitterly.
“Please” He said, knowing better than trying to argue with you.
Your stare on him softened, as something within you urged you to say yes. To have more time with Nanami and maybe cling to the bittersweet memories you were constantly reliving since his return.
“Fine” You said, very much to his surprise. He smiled and walked closer to you with the gentle smile that had been haunting your dreams as of lately.
“C’mon. My car is not far from here…”
You stopped coldly as he mentioned a car. Taking a second look at him, you wondered how much he’d changed. He’d become an adult through and through, hadn’t he? While you were still a mess...Or so you thought. To Nanami’s eyes, you were a far better sorcerer and warrior than him. And he envied you for it.
“Are you actually going to take me to the school?” You asked, suddenly growing suspicious of him, as you’d had plenty of experiences with strangers on the street and knew better than going into someone’s car in a drunken state.
Not that you didn’t trust Nanami. You didn’t trust yourself drunk.
“I was actually thinking of taking you somewhere for dinner and then to the school” He said.
“Not hungry”
“No, but you’re drunk. It’ll sober you up, and tomorrow morning you’ll thank me when you wake up without a hangover” He said as he walked towards his car.
“I don’t have any more money on me” You lied, looking for an excuse to avoid spending any more than necessary with him.
“I didn’t ask you if you have money” He said boldly as he managed to make you smirk for the first time since his return.
“Smooth, Nanami. You’ve grown” You said as you followed him.
The walk to his car felt like your chest burnt far more than the alcohol ever did. It felt bitter, it hurt and was nauseating. Was it really it, or was it the alcohol finally catching up with you? Like flashes of instant memories being erased from your memory, the drive to a restaurant felt like a poorly edited foreign film. The car felt like some intense themed park ride as you felt dizzy with the alcohol whispering everything you missed about him. It was gross and it was sickening.
The Ramen sign on the outside on itself managed to sober you up a little by taking your mind off Nanami. As you followed him, clumsily standing on your feet, you sat on one of the tables and tried to make sense of the dancing letters in the menu. More flashes of memories were taken off your head, as you wondered what was happening and how drunk were you for you to start blacking out.
“Not good…” you muttered under your breath.
“Did you say something?” Nanami asked.
“No. Nothing”
“How are you holding up?”
“I’m not”
“You’ll feel better in a bit. Don’t worry…” He said softly as he sipped from a soda you didn’t know he had. When had he ordered it? You looked in front of you to the nice surprise that you had one too despite not knowing how or when. “I ordered some ramen for you. Something spicy...It’ll sober you up faster”
You chuckled as you looked at him.
“And how do you know that?” You asked with a cheeky tone as he smiled softly.
“Went drinking a lot with friends from work” He said. “I learned a few things here and there”
More brief black outs kept lazily painting a rather miserable painting in your memory. As you ate your ramen, you found yourself relaxing more and more. Was it the hot spicy broth? In the beginning, the balck outs weren’t getting any less frequent, however, as the night went by, you found yourself sobering up like he said. Soon, the black outs were gone, however you were still somehow locked in a haze. Although it made sense. The amount of booze as well as the short time, it was going to take a lot more than just one hot bowl of spicy ramen to get you back to a sober state.
The conversation kept flowing comfortably as both of you ate. It was reminiscent of the old days, nostalgic and somehow morbid. As the both of you tried to grasp at the old days when your worries were limited to school work. Catching up like old friends who hadn't seen each other, as if you didn’t have hard feelings for each other.
After having finished your food, Nanami paid for both of your meals and went back out into the cold night. The sky black, stars hidden by the streetlights as you made it to his car and finally noticed the silver color in it.
As he drove back to the school, you noticed he took a small detour, instantly setting alarms in your head.
“Where are we going?” You asked, your voice considerably serious as he noticed the change in tone from the pleasant talk they were having in the restaurant.
“There’s somewhere I’d like to go…” He said as he briefly looked at you and gave you a tender smile.
That smile made your heart uncomfortably skip a beat as you hated the effect he still had on you. You didn’t dare to ask any further as you slowly recognized the route he was taking. As he slowly took one of the roads towards the edge of the city close to the coast line. He stopped in a rather deserted place, as he got off the road and stopped the car.
Despite the lack of light, aside from the few streetlights, you knew exactly where you were. A whole in your chest opened dramatically as you felt your eyes tear up and happy memories attached to the location flooded your mind.
“Kento…” You said chuckling bitterly.
“When I said I wanted to apologize, I meant it…” He said as you clenched your jaw and looked out your window, avoiding his stare.
“And I told you I didn’t want to talk about it…”
“You’re still upset about it, I get it. And I don’t blame you” He began as he felt his heart beating hard in his chest. “Look at me, please”
You wanted to say something to him. But you knew you would break down crying as soon as you opened your mouth. You took a deep breath and without saying anything you looked at him. His dark brown eyes gazing into yours, as he was looking at you with a rather pained stare.
“You remember this place, don’t you?” He asked.
A bitter laugh escaped your lips as you clicked your seatbelt, getting it off.
“I’m done” You said dryly as you opened the door and got out of the car.
“No, [Name]. Please, wait” He said as he mirrored your movements and excited the car walking around it.
“Of fuckign course I know where I am, Kento” You barked as you walked away approaching the door. “I know where I lost my fucking virginity, okay?” You barked as you stopped coldly and looked at him, tears finally streaming off your face. “Look, I’ll make us a favour and summarize this conversation. Yes, you’re a fucking asshole for just taking off one day and completely disappearing. Yes, I’m still mad about it. No, I won’t take your apology. No, I don’t care about whatever shitty excuse you have for me to listen to you. You bringing me here out of all places isn’t going to change shit…” You spat all in one breath as you stopped and took a deep breath.
“I loved you, Kento. I really did. And it hurt to have you just dissipate like you were a hallucination or something...You were my first kiss, my first love, my first everything! And one day I lost all of that. You ruined sex for me!” You yelled angrily. “I could never hold, kiss or sleep with anyone, because at some point I’d see your stupid face, and then be incredibly underwhelmed because I would not enjoy sex. I can’t feel anything anymore, Kento...The only way I can actually enjoy those things is by getting drunk or high” You admitted. “I can’t walk into bookstores, nor eat sandwiches or diet coke, nor drink tea because all those things remind me of you. And yes, it’s lame that all these years later I still care about those things. And this is why I can’t forgive you” You cried, as your voice shook.
Nanami’s heart broke little by little at each one of your words. He knew he’d screwed up and had hurt you deeply. But he wasn’t aware of the actual impact. He clenched his jaw as he felt his chest tight and a lump on his throat. Now the drinking problem made sense. Gojo had painted it like you were an alcoholic, but it wasn’t exactly the case. So you’d gone to the bar to get it off with some stranger, probably pretending it was him.
The dizzying pain and weight of his mistakes blinded him for a second as he walked towards you as you kept bitterly complaining. As you tried to walk away, you made a very poor effort as he caught up with you and cupped your face in his hands, bringing you closer to him and shutting you up by pressing his lips against you.
The sudden surprise made your heart stop. Your mind turning numb and blank at once as you struggled to bring yourself to push him away. However, truth be told, you didn't want to push him away. The poor attempt to push him away was more than obvious. The strong fighter you were, barely making any physical effort. Nanami's hands wrapped around your back and pulled you close, squeezing you against him as he sighed into the kiss.
Finally kissing him back, you locked your lips against his desperately, eager to taste the lips you've been dreading in your dreams. Clinging to him like he was going to disappear again, a soft whimper escaped your mouth. Your chest pressing against him as he felt his own world getting blurry.
He broke the kiss pulling away as he pressed his forehead against yours.
“You have no idea how much I missed you” He whispered as you clung to him.
“I-I…” You stuttered, the words tasting bitter before they even made it to your mouth. “Fuck, I want you, Kento” You growled as he pulled you in, kissing you hungrily again.
His hands posessively clinging to you as he slowly guided you back to the car. One step at the time as you both melted in a hungry sour kiss. As you ran out of breath, you pulled away, gasping for air as you gripped his collar in your hands.
“I can’t hold back anymore” You said as you pulled away and grabbed his hand, walking back to his car.
Your words unleashed a shiver down his spine as his heart skipped a beat and raced like crazy, as his pants started feeling tighter on his crotch. He chuckled softly as he realized his own judgement seemed to have disappeared with that first kiss. And before you could even make it to his car, he gripped your hips and spun you around as he bumped his forehead against yours.
“I can’t either” He admitted as he guided you to the car’s hood and pulled you over it. Ass you sat on the warm hood, he got between your legs and you wasted no time wrapping them around his waist. He grunted softly feeling your crotch against his as you pulled him closer to seal your lips together.
As you soon were absorbed by the dizziness of your rising heat, his hand went to your bare thighs as he slowly caressed your skin, going up and lifting your skirt up in the process. A soft moan slid into his mouth as he gripped your ass softly and squeezed it. The way your skin got covered in goosebumps and how you jerked your hips made him moan in response.
It felt good, and intoxicating. The driving desire burning his insides. The feeling of desiring to taste you all over and have you shaking underneath him. God, he’d missed that particular rush of adrenaline. His body reacting to the deeply buried memories now loose. He felt like he was in the best high he’d experienced. Lightheadedness and presence in the moment, he hadn’t felt this alive in so long.
Your hands were slowly undoing his buttoned shirt and were quick to explore his warm skin. He pulled away from the kiss, gasping as he looked at you. Your devilish smile matching your hungry stare. You leaned forward kissing his neck, nibbling on his skin every now and then. His hand gripped your hair tightly, pulling it lightly, making you look up at him as he stared at you.
He leaned forward, kissing you once more, this time a lot more slow and a lot more tender. It was sweet and it was slow and it took you by surprise. You felt his sweet kiss begging you, still holding on to the feelings you both decided to drown unsuccessfully. It almost hurt. It was the kind of kiss that told you how much you missed and needed each other. How much you regretted the mistakes you’ve done.
As you melted against his lips, his hands slowly slid your panties off. You helped him lifting your hips a little but as you giggled against his lips.
“Eager?” You said with a playful smirk.
“You have no idea” He replied as he took off your panties and shoved them in his back pocket.
His hand made it back to your thigh, slowly going up until he palmed your hot sex. Stealing a gasp out of your mouth, he teasingly ran one of his fingers through your dripping slit, making him smile satisfied.
“I’m not the only one, huh?” He said as you looked at him with lustful eyes.
You took his glasses off and set them aside. You were about to go back to kissing his neck when he slid one finger inside of you effortlessly. A rather loud moan escaped your lips as you shut your eyes closed feeling your entire body tingle in a way you hadn’t felt in years. You smiled satisfied as you continued kissing his neck. Slowly, he got another finger inside. The delicious stretch of his second finger prompting you to bite his neck softly making him growl your name softly. His fingers explored the whole he knew so well, as he found your sweet spot almost by muscle memory. More moans came out of your throat sounding like music to his ears.
“Fuck, Kento” You hissed as you took off your top, not caring that you were outdoors and by the road. Up to this point, you were so pent up, you simply craved him like you’d never craved anything before.
Nanami wasted no time and kissed your neck, going down to your neck, gently biting your skin every now and then. Sucking delicately on your skin, leaving marks that wouldn’t last long. He pulle dhis fingers out of you, clinging to your body desperately. As you laid on the car’s hood, you devoured him with your lustful eyes, begging him to get on top of you. Wearing just your skirt by this point, Nanami groaned at the plain sight of you.
He undid his belt and his pants. Your hands playfully teasing your own body in an attempt to drive him crazier and crazier. He cursed under his breath as he couldn’t take it any longer. He pulled his painfully hard erection out of his pants. You watched hi, intrigued, stretching your hands towards him, gently gripping his dick. His breath hitched and you smiled proudly.
Nanami leaned over the car hood, slowly getting on top of you, his shaft resting on your belly as he looked at how much deep could he go inside of you. His tip almost reaching you belly button, as the idea alone made a shiver run down his spine.
"Please, Kento" you gasped, need dripping from your voice as you caressed his dick
He growled softly as he pulled away softly, aligning against your entrance and slowly going in. You gasped, pushing your head back and pressing your hips against his making him go deeper.
Hissing your name, he jerked his hips, his tip.kissing your cervix as sudden rush of pain jolted through your body, followed by pleasure. You dug your nails in his shoulders as he thrusted back and forth, hitting all the right spots. The sound of his gasps and grunts hypnotizing as you got wetter by the second. His length coated in your juices, echoing in lewd wet noises.
He was rough. He usually was. Back in student days, he was particularly rough. As quiet and collected as he seemed, he sure got his stress out if his body through wild sex.
Relentlessly pushing against you, stretching you in such a delicious way only he knew how. Strong and aggressive movements as your walls swallowed him whole every time, breathless moans escaping your lips with every push. The cool wind kissing your skin, only enhancing his warmth.
As you felt your orgasm progressively approaching, the realization of how addicted you were to him hit you. He was everything you desired. And it was wrong. Before the feeling of uneasiness started to sink in, a sudden electric rush ran through your body. Painfully and soothing, as you tightly clenched around himbsoon numbed your mind.
As you came around him, your walls sucked him in tightly, as he was right over the brink, your velvet flesh pushed him off the edge. He didn't have time to pull out. And honestly, he didn't want to pull out. The way your walls milked him felt delicious. As he rode you through your orgasm, filling you up as his head felt dizzy and the world was spinning faster than usual. His hot seed coating your insides, as you shut your eyes closed, feeling the very last of your orgasm fading away.
He pressed his forehead against yours. Loud pants echoing.
However, the world didn't quite return to its regular focus.
The rest of the night went by in a fuzzy hot mess of events. You returned to his apartment and kept feasting on each other, making up for the lost time. Both of you incredibly starved and needy, you desperately went at it over and over again. It was a rather long night. As you feared, no one made you feel as he did. All of him was addicting. His smell, his voice, his warmth, his skin...It didn’t matter how many strangers you fucked, or how drunk or high you were, he felt just right. He made you cum so easily, it seemed ridiculous everyone else couldn’t.
But you knew it was far more than that.
You were still deeply in love with him. No wonder why he had that effect on you. Just hearing his breathlessly gasp was enough to have you soaking wet and under his mercy. Between sweet kisses, fake promises and sweaty sex, he quite literally fucked you to oblivion. Until either of you could take it any longer and you two fell asleep in each other’s arms. It had been a long tiring night, as you knew many of your muscles were gonna be sore the next day. Your chest painted in red and blue bruises.
It was possibly one of the best night sleeps he’d had. In such a long time. The uncomfortable hole in his chest didn’t feel so wide now. Just like you, he didn’t know how much he actually needed you until now. His regrets, his guilt, the thoughts haunting him on how much of a jerk he’d been when he simply took off...All those feelings went away for a night. As he tasted the wonders of the universe under your skin. Feeling ecstatic and euphoric for the first time in years. However, nothing could’ve prepared Nanami for what he was about to experience when he woke up.
~
“What the hell is this?” Gojo asked as he waved around the folder you’d left a few hours earlier in the Headmaster’s office.
“Why the fuck do you care?” You said as you grabbed it, ripping it off his hands.
“You’re seriously leaving for Kyoto?” He whined.
“So my transfer was accepted? Great!” You said sarcastically as you opened the folder and saw the Headmaster’s seal at the bottom.
“What about Nanami-kun?” Gojo replied as the very last string of your patience snapped.
“Oh, fuck you, Gojo! You tried to force us back together, but it’s not going to happen” You snapped. “I’m done. I’m done with him, and I’m done with you sticking your nose in my business”
“Do you really think that running away will solve anything? You’ll still be depressed as hell”
“The less I know about him, the better” You said as you turned around, hot tears blurring your sight as you headed with long steps towards your room. “I don’t trust myself around him…” You whispered. “He’s my weakness Gojo, I can’t let that happen…” You said coldly.
You’d left that morning very early, before Nanami woke up. And you left leaving no trace of you ever being there. Unintentionally doing the same he did. It was unintentional because you hadn’t done it out of spite. Your thought process had been simply. You preferred to not have that conversation and simply leave without him noticing. You had had the exact same thought process Nanami had had all those years ago.
You didn’t waste time and soon started packing your things to leave for Kyoto right away.
“Are you nervous Freddie?”
“I think I’m the one who should be asking you that love.” He smiled as the two of you made your way up to the door of 12 Grimmauld Place. “You’ve been talking about this night for weeks.”
You sighed. “I know I know...I’m obviously not worried about you it’s..them. They can be quite..childish together sometimes.”
Fred stopped walking and hopped in front of you, catching you off guard. He grabbed your gloved hands in his. “Darling you do remember who you’re dating right? I believe childish is my middle name.” He said, causing you to let out a small smile.
“Look at me.” He continued. Your gaze shifted from the snowy ground beneath your feet to your beautiful boyfriend. His ginger hair was tucked messily underneath a hat you were sure Molly had knitted him, and his cheeks were rosy from the cold. “I’m not gonna run off when they start displaying your horrendously embarrassing baby photos.” He joked. You lightly punched him in the stomach at the comment, causing him to laugh even harder. “I’m all in with you. I’m afraid you’re stuck with me.”
You gave him an emotional smile back. “Kiss me.”
“Gladly.” He smirked as he leaned down to press a sweet but firm kiss to your lips.
You pulled away when it actually registered that the two of you were in the middle of the sidewalk during a snowfall making out. “Alright. Let’s go.” You laughed, grabbing his hand and pulling him up the staircase.
The door was unlocked when you turned the handle, your dad and his best friend obviously awaiting your arrival.
The long hallway was empty when you entered and the two of you began to take off your coats and many other winter layers you were sporting. “Dad?” You called out, signaling your arrival.
A few seconds later two familiar faces popped out of the kitchen and suddenly the house was full of life.
“There’s my girl!” Lupin smiled, pulling you in for a hug. As the two of you embraced, Fred hung up your coats. “And Mr. Weasley. Long time no see.” He continued.
“Good to see you again Professor.” Fred smiled, referencing the fact that your dad was indeed both of your defense against the dark arts professor a few years prior, before the two of you started dating.
“Ah come now Fred there’s no need for that. Call me Remus.” He chuckled.
“I don’t suppose you’re going to call me Professor too?” Sirius piped up, causing you to burst out laughing.
“Sirius the only thing you’re professional at is not cleaning up after yourself. Every time I come over I end up having to do your dishes.” Remus replied.
“All the more reason to keep inviting him over huh?” Sirius said and all of you laughed. He finally looked over at you with open arms. “(y/n). Come here sweetheart.” You went over to hug him while Fred and Remus began making their way to the kitchen.
“So he’s treating you right then?” Sirius asked after a moment.
“Better than I could possibly put into words.” You beamed.
“Good.”
The two of you then joined your dad and boyfriend in the kitchen, where Remus was fixing dinner. You all fell into easy conversation, and of course it took the turn you were absolutely dreading when Remus pulled out a worn out album you knew you to be filled with photos of you from your childhood.
“Oh Merlin...” You groaned and banged your head dramatically against the cabinet you were standing in front of. Fred was getting far too much enjoyment from this and you wished you had Harry’s invisibility cloak right about then.
“Now this. This might just be the greatest photo in existence love.” Fred stated a few minutes later. Your eyes shot open when you saw him holding up a photo of you flopped over on the ground crying and looking miserable.
“IS IT DINNER TIME YET?” You yelled over the three others in the kitchen laughing hysterically at your tantrum that was so wonderfully captured in the form of a moving image.
“Almost.” Your dad said when he finally caught his breath. “Sirius can I trust you and maybe Fred to get the dishes? I want to talk to (y/n) for a minute.”
“Go ahead. We won’t burn the house down right Weasley?” Sirius asked.
“Definitely not. We’re very trustworthy.” Fred laughed. You smiled at his playfulness before you followed your dad into the living room.
“What’s up?” You asked and sat down on the couch.
“You remember how nervous I was when you told me you both were together?”
“Of course. Though I knew you’d be nervous about anyone I ever started dating.” You laughed.
Remus smiled and reached out to grab your hand. “Well I just want you to know that I’m not nervous anymore. He’s great.”
A smile made its way across your entire face at his words. “Thank you.” You whispered. “I always told you he’s the best.”
“You did.” He nodded. “Just be careful of losing him to that one though...” He nodded in the direction of the kitchen so you knew he was talking about Sirius. “Them two have the same ridiculous sense of humor.”
You laughed at his statement. “Yeah I’ll watch out for that.”
The two of you wrapped up your conversation and made your way to the dining room. The utensils were definitely not in the correct spots and none of the dishes matched, but no one seemed to mind at all because luckily the house was still standing.
After dinner was over, you and Fred made your way to the couch while your dad and Sirius were cleaning up.
He sat down on the corner cushion and you curled up next to him, summoning the blanket draped on the chair next to you onto your lap using “accio.” Your head was on Fred’s chest as he gently stroked your hair.
“They love you.” You said quietly after a few minutes.
“Well that’s good isn’t it? Because they also love you and given the choice I have a feeling they'd choose you over me.”
You laughed. “Stop it! I really think Sirius might like you more than me.”
Fred laughed this time and leaned down to kiss the top of your head. You yawned and felt your eyes begin to close the longer you stayed in this position. You’ve never felt more content than in this moment, in the arms of the best boyfriend in the world, under the roof of the best almost-dad and real dad in the world.
~
You didn’t know what time it was when you woke up slightly after hearing some shuffling around you, but it must have been late because it was completely dark outside now. The only light came from a lamp on the other side of the room. You felt the steady rise and fall of Fred’s chest underneath your head, signifying that he was sleeping as well.
You were in and out of sleepy consciousness for the next few minutes but you were awake enough to process a few sentences.
“Sirius! Get the camera. This one’s going in the album.”
BABYSITTING WITH HIM
Tumblr media
characters ♡ oikawa, tendou & sakusa
tw ♡ children, cursing & mentions of arson
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TŌRU OIKAWA
♡ he is pretty much a professional babysitter, or so he thought
♡ which is why he accepted when you asked if he could help you take care of your nieces/nephews for the weekend
♡ i mean, he takes care of his nephew all the time so how hard could babysitting possibly be? it was basically a free pass to spend the day with you
♡ however, he began to regret his decision as he sat on your couch and realised that he wouldn’t be able to get even somewhat intimate with you when there was constantly an annoying little boy clinging to his arm, asking him if he had any games on his phone
♡ “sorry, kid.” oikawa smiled, clenching his jaw to hide the rage but it wasn’t very effective, “i’ve not got any games. maybe you could go play with your toys or something.”
♡ he let out a sigh, making the mistake of thinking that would be the end of their interaction
♡ “can’t you just download some?” the boy retaliated
♡ you snickered, watching as the energy visibly drained from oikawa, yet he still wore his frighteningly bright grin
♡ “i’ve not got any storage.”
♡ “then delete some of your apps or photos.” the boy said with a shrug, then proceeded to point at oikawa’s home screen, which happened to be a picture of him and you in front of an ethereal sunset, “start with that one. you both look like dorks.”
♡ you and oikawa’s unified gasps of offence were enough to show the boy that he was able to do exactly what he intended; piss y’all off
♡ hence, with a final mischievous snicker, he dashed off
♡ “i hate kids.” oikawa muttered, inspecting his homescreen to see if he really did look like a ‘dork’, “what is his problem?”
♡ “what if our kids turn out like that?” you joked
♡ his eyes widened momentarily, turning to look at you with an uncharacteristically sheepish expression, “our w--”
♡ “mr kawa!” a cry could be heard from the kitchen so without hesitation, you both hopped to your feet and rushed over there as quick as you could
♡ once you both reached the area the yell came from, you were fortunately not greeted by anything gruesome
♡ instead, you both got to behold two children trying to reach the top shelf with the power on friendship; the taller boy was standing on a chair, while the toddler held it still
♡ however, his grip on the jar of the Nutella must’ve loosened at some point as it now lay dejectedly on the ground, half spilled across the tiles and the other half drenching the toddler, not that they seemed to mind though
♡ in fact, it looked like they were having the time of their — albeit, short — life
♡ the container was only plastic, hence you didn’t have to worry about shards when you darted over to the poor, chocolate-covered baby and scooped them up into your arms, “are you guys, okay?!”
♡ “yeah.” the boy chuckled, noticing that holding the toddler was transferring the chocolate onto you too
♡ “if you wanted nutella, you could’ve just asked.” oikawa sighed, helping the boy get down safely from the chair before putting the object back at it’s intended spot at the dinner table
♡ “you could have gotten seriously hurt! i thought you would know better than to do something like this.” you scolded, becoming even more furious as the baby continued to playfully slap your face with their grimy hands, “please don’t do that again.”
♡ before they boy got the chance to do anything besides murmur a vague apology, oikawa interjected, “they won’t get the chance.”
♡ and he was right
♡ after cleaning everything up (including the child, which took forever), you didn’t let either of the rascals out of your sight until your duties as babysitters were complete
♡ “i think we handled that pretty well.” oikawa mused, gathering his stuff along with you as you both got ready to leave
♡ “yeah, maybe we should do this again sometime.” you suggested, but it was followed by a few second was complete silence
♡ until you both burst out laughing
♡ “yeah, never again.” you agreed
♡ “the kids can take care of themselves.” oikawa said with shrug, offering his hand to you, before you both strutted out of the disaster house
♡ ever since then, it was a common inside joke between you to, when in the vicinity of a kid causing mayhem or being a nuisance, whisper to each or exchange a look that says, ‘it’s a great day to not be babysitting.’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SATORI TENDŌ
♡ at first, you thought that asking tendou for help babysitting would be a bad idea bc he is just as hyperactive as the damn kids sometimes so he’d probably not be the best influence
♡ and you knew this bc one time you happened to run into him while out in the park with the kids and you asked him to watch them for literally a minute so you could run to the bathroom but when you came back all you almost had a heart attack because tendou was teaching them fkn tricks on the monkey bars
♡ however, you then realised that if the kids were busy committing arson with uncle tendou, then they wouldn’t be bothering you
♡ so here you are, playing monopoly with your boyfriend, a seven year-old and a one year-old
♡ well, it was less like monopoly and more like debate class since none of you could agree on the rules
♡ “well, uncle ten,” the older sibling began, in a very matter-of-factly tone, “if i burn your property down, then i  don’t have to pay you for landing on it.”
♡ “but then you also go to jail.” you pointed out
♡ “not if the police don’t catch me.”
♡ you burst out laughing, meanwhile tendou kept his business face on, “good point, but watch this.” tendou spoke as he rolled the dice, though no matter what if he got a number between four and seven, he would end up landing on somebody’s property
♡ he got a four
♡ picking up his piece, he moved it across each square individually and once he was due to land on your property, he knocked his piece over
♡ “whoops, i slipped.” he chuckled, though his friendly aura immediately dropped as he looked you dead in the eye and said, “i’m suing.”
♡ “you can’t sue me because you tripped!” you yelled
♡ “i guess i just fell for you.” he said, resulting in the kids both making gagging noises before he stuck out his hand, “100 monopoly dollars, please.”
♡ “like i said,” you tried your best to stay strong and not laugh at his shitting pickup line, “i’m not giving you any money, you fell!”
♡ “i guess we’ll have to take this matter to court then.” tendou said, tapping the shoulder of the one year-old who was currently chewing on a 500 bill which you quickly had to confiscate
♡ “judge, do you think (y/n) owes me 100 monopoly dollars for poor health and safety conduct?”
♡ “yes.”
♡ “that is the only word they know how to say!” you cried, begrudgingly handing over the money
♡ “thank you, angel.” tendou cooed, adding your singular bill to the pile he had already stored up; the winner of the game had already been decided
♡ and although you and the seven year-old kid both cried later after getting your asses kicked in monopoly (the one year-old cried too but they were just hungry), you all went out to get food and actually had a pretty good time
♡ it became a routine for tendou to help you babysit whenever he got the chance and y’all would always play table top games
♡ also when tendou got accepted into culinary school, he’d teach/show the kids what dishes he has learned to prepare and let them help by stirring the pot, adding spices etc etc
♡ and even when he moved to Paris, on special occasions, a box of chocolates would suddenly appear at the kids’ door and all the little pieces would be shaped and moulded into some of their favourite characters or made out of their favourite flavours
♡ and at one point the kids even insisted that you teach them how to make chocolates so they can send some back to uncle tendou <33
♡ they weren’t the best, but when tendou received the misshapen, slightly stale chocolates at his apartment, addressed from you and the children, he cried
Tumblr media Tumblr media
KIYOOMI SAKUSA
♡ his first response when you asked if he could help you babysit was ofc ‘ew no 🤢’
♡ needless to say it took a lot mansplain manipulate malewifing to convince him to come over
♡ but once he did, obviously he was in his full protective gear; there was no way in hell he was going to catch whatever germs the little goblins have
♡ honestly he almost sprayed a chid in the face with hand sanitizer when they came running up to him with open arms, trying to give him a hug
♡ which was unusual because the kids don’t tend to be overly friendly with new people, but you just brushed it off and figured that sakusa must’ve been an exception
♡ during his time babysitting, sakusa spend most of his energy trying to avoid the children at all costs that it basically became a game of tag, with you helping the child try to reach sakusa, and him hiding
♡ but honestly you couldn’t complain since the whole time the child was playing, they were safe with you rather than playing with fire
♡ until later you were reminded of their odd fondness for sakusa when they insisted that sakusa carry them to their bedroom when it was their nap time
♡ and as you were shifting through the books, looking for a story to read, it hit you why they seemed to be so familiar with sakusa
♡ it’s because he looked exactly like the prince in one of their favourite story books; same hair, both tall and they even had similar moles to each other
♡ upon noticing this, you immediately showed sakusa and was quite amused
♡ in fact, he found it so cute that he gave both you and the toddler a lil’ kiss on the cheek, as a parting gift — mask off and everything
♡ he ended up reading the story and the kid fell into deep slumber by the time he reached the second page
♡ letting out a sigh of relief, sakusa slumped onto the ground, allowing his own eyes to flutter shut for a moment, “what a day.”
♡ you shuffled over to you could lay down beside him, “indeed it was, prince sakusa.”
♡ “shut up.” he teased, poking your rib slightly before absently intertwining his fingers with your own
♡ next thing you knew, you were both awakened by the sound of a grumpy toddler...
* * * *
You were in your room, sitting on your bed as your eyes looked around. Your room was painted your favorite color and it made your brothers jealous because their rooms were painted white, it was boring. Yours had posters, polaroids of you and your siblings, fairy lights, a bean bag chair, and a simple full body mirror. You heard a knock on your door and you looked to see that it was Tom smiling brightly with a plate of your favorite cookies.
“Hey.” He said softly as he entered the room and shut the door behind him with his foot while balancing the plate of cookies in his hands.
“Hi.” You smiled.
“Sam kicked me out of the kitchen, but I was there first and fortunately, I finished the cookies on time. I hope they taste alright.” Tom said as he sat beside you, the plate of cookies in between you.
“They smell good, so you did a good job.” You chuckled. Tom took one cookie and looked at you, “Taste test.”
He took a bite and chewed it a few times before saying, “It tastes alright. It’s not like how Sam makes it, but I’m not Sam. I’m Tom.”
Both of you erupted into a fit of giggles as you talked about random things. The plate of cookies were now on your bedside table and only half of the cookies were eaten.
“Hey, how’s your friend?” Tom asked casually. Both of you were laying on your bed, facing the ceiling.
“Which friend?”
“The blond one who had one hell of a musical talent.” Tom said. “He used to come here and play on Sam’s piano.”
“Oh, James! I don’t really know what happened to him. We, uh, fell out of touch.”
“I see.” Tom said. “I hope he’s okay.”
“Same here.” You told him. “My friend, Madeline, got a scholarship last time I checked. She got accelerated in school and she got to attend uni ahead of us. I’m really proud of her, y’know?”
“Where is she now?” Tom asked.
You looked at Tom with sorrow in your eyes. He glanced at you and he could see how hurt you were. “We don’t talk...anymore. We used to. She’s basically like a sister to me, but we don’t talk anymore. Regardless, I’m really happy for her and I miss her. Wherever she is, I hope she’s alright.”
Suddenly, there was a knock on your door and Tom sat up quickly. The door opened and revealed Sam. “Hey, it’s time to eat dinner. You’re washing the dishes tonight, Tom!” Sam said before leaving.
“That little shit.” Tom laughed. “C’mon, Y/N. Let’s eat!” He got up from your bed and you followed suit with worry and concern in your eyes. You shook your head and shrugged it off. What you’ll say can wait.
Both of you went down to join everyone on the dining table. You sat in your usual seat, but didn’t contribute in the conversation. You were just happy to be there. You looked around and saw how happy your brothers were. You looked at your parents and saw them smiling. It was a beautiful sight to see. After all, all you wanted was for them to be happy. They deserve to be happy.
Harry and Tom cleaned up as you watched them help each other. “Next time, we should cook Y/N’s favorite dinner.” Tom said. Harry looked at him and shrugged, “Why not? I never liked it, but I’m sure she’d appreciate it very much.”
The next few days were spent with Tom. He never left your side and he made sure you were alright. You were the youngest and as the eldest Holland child, he made it his job to look after you. He wasn’t close with you before, but somehow as you grew older, it changed. Tom was now excited to spend time with you. He loved talking to you and he loved laughing with you. In his opinion, you make his stress and worries fade away.
Your birthday is coming up and he wanted everything planned out. He already had plans, actually. He knew what cake you wanted, he knew what decorations to put up, he planned the food, and he even had a theme in mind. He was really prepared. Paddy had to go with Tom in town just to buy balloons. Tom was really going all out.
“Are you going to help me set up tonight? Y/N’s birthday is tomorrow and I want her to be surprised when she wakes up. I can already imagine her face.” Tom smiled excitedly as he parked the car in the driveway.
“I can’t help you tonight. I have homework.” Paddy said as he looked at Tom who just shrugged. “Alright. No problem. Stay in school, Pads.” Tom smiled before exiting his car with Paddy following him.
They walked in and Tom saw you sitting on the arm of the couch with Sam and Harry. Tom smiled at the sight. “Hey, guys!” He greeted, causing the three of you to look at Tom and Paddy.
“Wow, you went shopping for a lot of things.” Harry pointed out.
“Yeah, what’s up with that?” Sam asked with a grin.
“Nothing.” Tom smirked. “I’ll put these in my room.” Tom left and went upstairs to his room as Paddy walked to the couch and sat next to you. You looked at Paddy and smiled. You weren’t close with him, but you loved him dearly. You were only one year younger than him and he was always kind to you and you liked hanging out with him.
You looked at Sam and Harry and you held back a chuckle as you watch them annoy each other. It was a lovely sight to see.
Night time came and dinner was over a few hours ago. You were just standing in your backyard feeling the wind blowing and you knew that something was about to happen. You just didn’t know what. The backdoor opened and you turned around to see Tom with a small smile.
“What’re you doing out here? It’s cold.” He said as he tugged his jacket closer. He walked towards you and stood beside you. “What’s on your mind?”
You shrugged, “Nothing. I guess I’m just tired. I think I’ll rest now.”
Tom nodded. He suddenly remembered his plan and said, “Yeah, you can go upstairs now. I, uh, prepared your room.”
“Thank you.” You smiled at him. You walked towards the back door and stopped to turn around to look at Tom. He was already looking at you and you said, “I- Good night, Tom.”
“Good night, Y/N. Sweet dreams.” He smiled sweetly. You opened the door and walked in and went straight up the stairs to your room.
Tom stayed outside for a minute before walking in. He locked the back door and went to the living room where his brothers were. “Hey, guys! Ready to decorate?” Tom asked with a huge smile on his face. It was evident that he was excited.
“What’re you talking about?” Sam asked, looking at Tom with a confused face.
“Yeah, what’s happening?” Paddy questioned.
Tom scoffed and crossed his arms, “How could you guys forget?! It’s our sister’s birthday tomorrow and you guys aren’t preparing at all!”
Tom was yelling as the rest were looking at him sadly. Sam’s eyes were clouded with tears as he looked at Tom. Harry and Paddy looked at Sam, not wanting to be the ones to remind Tom. Sam sighed and closed his eyes and his tears fell. He wiped his tears and opened his eyes to face Tom.
“Tom, mate, she’s dead.” Sam said softly. “She’s been dead for two months now.”
“W-What are you talking about?” Tom shook his head slowly. He looked away from Sam and he saw you standing behind Sam. “She’s right there, Sam! She’s literally right behind you! How can you not see it?!”
“Tom, stop! She’s gone, okay?!” Harry exclaimed. “Y/N’s not here! She won’t be here anymore and it’ll be that way forever. We just have to accept that.”
“It was leukemia, Tom. She didn’t make it and we had a funeral and everything.” Paddy said softly.
You were confined in the hospital for about a week now and you were getting weaker and weaker as the days went on. Your family was trying to be positive, but all of you knew that it was your time to go. Before you were confined, you had written letters for them to read after you die and it was now hidden in their drawers.
Tom and Harry weren’t there when you passed because they were in a different country. They immediately went home when they heard the news. All of you knew that you weren’t going to make it, but all of you ignored that fact. Everyone except Tom was grieving. He held his mother as she cried and he stayed strong for his brothers. He couldn’t remember the last time he and his brothers slept in one room and he hated that they chose to do it again as soon as you were gone.
It was like a sleepover. They all talked about you and everything you did that the others didn’t know about. Turns out, you had secrets you shared with everyone except Tom.
“Wait, she told you guys about her secrets?” Tom asked that night.
“Yeah.” Harry nodded, eyes bloodshot from all the crying. “If something happens to her, she tells the first person she sees.”
“She never told me anything.” Tom stated.
“That’s because you’re the eldest. No one tells people about themselves to the eldest sibling.” Paddy answered.
“That’s unfortunate.” Tom frowned. “I wish I knew the things you knew.” He added.
“It’s alright, Tom. She didn’t have major secrets, anyway. Besides, she was just scared to tell you. That’s why she did that.” Sam explained.
Tom couldn’t sleep that night as he looked at his brothers. They were cuddled up next to each other and were fast asleep. Tom couldn’t help but think of you before finally drifting off. Days later, it was the funeral. The whole house was quiet and while your mum, Nikki, would appreciate it, for once in her life she wanted the noise. She wanted to hear boisterous laughing, heavy footsteps running up and down the stairs, yelling, the sound of Sam cutting vegetables, Dom’s loud typing, Paddy talking to his friend on the phone, Harry telling you to wake up and calling you a lazy bum for not being productive, and Tom playing with Tessa outside. Now, there was none of that.
When a husband or wife dies, the one they left behind is called a widow. When a child dies, what do you call their parents? No one’s ever come up with a word for that yet because it’s too painful to think about. You were young and you deserved all the best life has to offer. Nikki was devastated, but she knew that wherever you were, you aren’t in pain anymore and that was enough for her.
Tom wanted to scream, but he didn’t. He was numb. After the funeral, he and Harry decided to take a break from traveling to spend time with the rest of the family. He stopped working for a while and everyone understood that.
When they got home, Tom went straight to his room and cried. He cried and cried until no tears came out. His head ached, but he didn’t want to get up and get himself a glass of water. He grabbed his phone from the bedside table to ask Harry, but his phone died. Tom scoffed, sat up, and reached the drawer of his bedside table. He leaned over to look for his phone charger, but he saw a letter instead. It had his name on it and he realized that it was your handwriting. Tom quickly grabbed it and put his phone back on the bedside table. He opened the envelope and read what you wrote for him.
Dear Tom,
Hi. When you read this, you know that I'm gone. I'm sorry that we never got to bond a lot. I guess it's my fault because I was so scared of you. Despite that, I want you to know that I'm really happy for you and I'm proud of you.
You're my inspiration and please know that I'm very proud to be your sister.
I don't know where I'll end up when I'm gone, but please don't worry about me. I'll be okay, I can feel it. I'll just go where the wind takes me.
You're a kind person for the whole time I've known you. I'll miss everything and I'll miss your pranks and jokes. Please never stop doing those just because I'm gone. I hope you think of me whenever you tell a joke or pull a prank on Harry again.
I wish we bonded more. I wish we made cookies until Sam kicked us out of the kitchen because he needed to prepare for dinner. I wish we watched movies together and I wish we spoke often.
I'll miss you all the time and I love you. So much. Never forget that.
Your sister,
Y/N/N x
Tom cried again until he slept with the letter resting on his chest. The next morning, he got up to go to your room. He dreamt of you and he wanted to tell you about it. He glanced at the door and noticed that it was unlocked. He slowly opened it and to his surprise, he saw you standing there watching everyone outside from your window.
“Y/N.” Tom said.
You turned around and smiled at him, “Hey, Tom.”
“I dreamt of you! And in my dream, you were a ballet dancer. We did ballet together. Wouldn't that be something? It could be a bonding thing for us." Tom said with a big smile as he fully entered your room. All of a sudden, he forgot about your sickness, your death, your sickness. From an outsider's point of view, it was a sad sight to see. He was clearly in the denial stage.
Harry was on his way downstairs when he heard a voice coming from your room. He quietly opened the door and saw Tom excitedly talking to thin air.
"You know, I'm not doing anything anytime soon. Why don't we go out? It'll just be you and me, Y/N." Tom smiled. Harry's heart broke upon hearing this. His older brother was imagining their dead sister. Harry kept it to himself because he thought that Tom was coping that way.
It wasn't until Sam witnessed the same thing. Tom was in the kitchen and he was talking to thin air once more. Sam watched as Tom laughed and said a bunch of things. Sam kept it to himself too.
Paddy, however, was different. He went to Harry and Sam's room, unannounced. He closed and locked the door behind him as the twins looked at him in confusion.
"Okay, I can't be the only one to notice it." Paddy said with arms crossed.
"What're you talking about?" Harry asked.
"Tom." Was all Paddy said. The twins looked at each other before looking back at Paddy.
"What about him?" Sam asked, his eyebrows were raised a bit.
"Tom told me that he'll bake Y/N's favorite cookies tomorrow because Y/N said she was craving for it." Paddy explained.
"I saw Tom talking to thin air the day after the funeral. He was in Y/N's room." Harry confessed.
"I saw him doing that too, but he was in the kitchen this time. I'm worried about him." Sam said.
"What should we do?" Harry asked with a frown on his face.
"Let's just let him be for a while. Let’s just intervene when it gets out of hand.” Sam decided as the other two nodded.
They just let Tom be until they had enough.
Tom couldn't believe what his brothers were telling him. He felt sick to his stomach. His baby sister was gone and the thought of it ate him alive. He shook his head and Sam said, “Tom, everything will be alright. We’ll get through this together. We’ll be fine.”
“That can’t be true. I’ve been speaking to her. Stop fucking lying.” Tom cried.
“Tom, wake up! She’s not here, alright?! She’s not in her room anymore. Her things will forever be untouched and her books will be dusty. Her phone hasn’t been charged since she died and it’ll stay that way. All we have left are pictures, videos, and memories of her. We should accept that because no matter what happens, we can’t bring her back!” Harry said as his voice was raised.
“Just go to bed, mate. You’re tired.” Paddy said softly. “We’ll deal with this in the morning.”
Tom wiped his tears and went up to his room, slamming the door. He went to sleep and dreamt of you again. Both of you were on top of a small hill and the wind was blowing softly.
“Why can’t they see you?” Tom asked you.
“Because I only showed myself to you. I know that we haven’t been really close and I figured you’d want some kind of closure. In truth, I’m only here because of you. The light has been calling me and they want me to leave already, but I can’t because I know you’d be sad. I hate seeing you sad.” You explained.
“Then stay here.” Tom begged, but you shook your head.
“You need to let me go, Tom. It’s time. I can’t stay here forever.” You chuckled lightly.
“I just- I feel like nothing. When you were around, I felt like I had a purpose. Now, I just wish I could be with you.” He admitted.
“Don’t say that. Imagine how everyone will react if you’re gone. They’ll be upset. I’m so proud that you’re alive and well because you’ll get to go on with life and grow old. If you can’t do it for yourself, then do it for me. Live the life I never got to live. Trust me when I say that you’ll be happier when you move on.”
“I don’t want to forget you and I don’t want you to think that we’re having fun without you.” He said.
“I won’t think that way because all I ever wanted for all of you is to be happy and healthy. I love you and I miss you, but I want you to have fun and to keep doing everything you love. Don’t stop because I’m gone. Don’t let me be a hindrance because that’ll make me sad and I’ll haunt you forever.” You said as Tom chuckled. “Besides, you don’t have to forget about me. I’ll always be in your heart.”
“Alright.” Tom said. “I think I’m ready to let you go.”
You smiled and nodded as you walked away and stepped into the light. Tom shouted, “Happy birthday, Y/N!”
You looked back and smiled. With that, he knew you were thanking him not just for greeting, but also for everything.
Tom woke up and it was already morning. He decided to get ready and to head to the cemetery. He walked downstairs and saw his brothers eating breakfast.
“Where are you going?” Harry asked before eating his cereal.
“The cemetery. It’s Y/N’s birthday.” Tom said. “I’ll go now. I don’t know what time I’ll be back.”
Tom left and the drive to the cemetery was short and quiet. He parked the car and walked to your grave. He smiled when he saw a small, framed picture of you that Harry placed there not too long ago. He sat in front of your grave and smiled, “Hey, Y/N. I know you can hear me.”
“I guess I did look crazy for a while and I now understand how everyone felt. I, um, I read your letter. I’m sorry too, y’know? I’m sorry I never made the effort to spend time with you. I guess it’s because all my life, I’ve only known about having brothers and when you came along, I didn’t know how to act. But I’m really happy that I got to see you grow up and I’m happy with our few moments together.”
“When you were five, I was fourteen. It’s a wide gap and I remember being so annoyed because your toys were everywhere.” He chuckled at the thought. “Regardless, I loved you and I still do. I’m happy that you grew up to be kind and loving. I’m really fucking happy for that.”
“In your letter, you said that I shouldn’t worry about you. Y/N, I’m sorry, but I can’t promise that. I’m your older brother and that automatically makes me sort of like a second parent especially when mum and dad aren’t around. So, I’ll always worry about you even though I know you’re okay and not in pain.”
“I do, however, promise to always dedicate my pranks to you. I know you’d love that. I’d wish that we bonded, but we already did that. You gave me a chance to get to know the sister I never got to know and that, above all, makes me so happy and grateful. That’s enough for me.”
“I don’t want to say cheesy shit and ask for guidance. I don’t want to burden you in heaven. Like, it’s called a resting place for a reason and I want you to rest easy. I just want to say that I miss you so much and I love you. Happy birthday.” He finished.
Just then, he felt the wind blow in his direction and he knew that you were okay.
