#i already don't like misako

ive mentioned before but in terms of age hc the more i think about it the more i really like the idea that lloyd was already technically the same age as / maybe even older than the rest of the ninja when he drank the tomorrow's tea, it's just that his oni/dragon heritage makes him physically age slower than humans, and he continued to age rather slowly after the tea. i like this bc it explains a LOT of things that don't make sense in canon otherwise like

inconsistency in the timeline as to when exactly misako concieved lloyd / when garmadon was cast into the underworld

the fact that misako seems rather old for someone with such a (seemingly) young child

why lloyd's voice didn't drop until s8 and why he STILL struggles to grow facial hair as of DR, despite the tommorow's tea and the length of time likely passing between these events

why his social development wasn't really as hindered as it seems like it should have been due to arteficial ageing (basically, why he seemingly takes ageing up a few years in an instant like a champ)

there's also some details that aren't inconsistencies, but just add some depth to canon with this interpretation

this read would mean that not only was he at darkley's for a lot longer than it would seem, he would have been developmentally out of sync with his peers, isolating him further

it makes his decision to take the tomorrow's tea more complex, bc an extra motivating factor would be to finally be seen as an equal to those his actual age, esp the ninja

adds an extra reason as to why he hesitates in acknowledging his nonhuman heritage

gives further explaination as to why he seeks to emulate wu so much in dragons rising as well. since he hardly got to know his father before his abnormal death and resurrection, wu is the only other oni/dragon hybrid he has as a model for his own socal development

idk there's like a whole slew of ways i can imagine this hc enhances the read and just makes the whole age situation make more sense

Ninjago character ethnicities headcanons

Kai and Nya

due to many headcanons I've seen through the years I've been in this fandom, I grew very fond of the headcanon of them being Hawaiians (since Kai's name is also a Hawaiian name), but I also really enjoy the idea that they might be Chinese (Nya used to wear a qipao inspired outfit in s1-2). So, Hawaiian Chinese!

Lloyd

Despite being blond, I believe he's half Chinese half Japanese. The reason for that is that Misako has a Japanese name (but an English last name) and, well, his uncle has a Chinese name. That's it. Chinese japanese

Zane

Okay, he's a robot, but mimics a human nonetheless. I like to imagine that Zane is based on some relative (maybe a son) Dr.Julien lost. To me, Zane's father was french with Slavic or Nordic roots, so Zane probably looks like these groups of people mixed in one.

Jay

Half Korean, half European. I like the idea that his mother was already half Korean, and I headcannon Cliff Gordon to be Korean, or at least have Korean ancestry/heritage (not so sure about what word to use here). Unlike some people, I don't like using Jay being ginger as an explanation for him being half korean, because ginger hair is a mutation, it can happen in any group. But anyway, since Jay wasn't raised by his bio parents, I'm including Ed and Edna here, and I believe that they could be Latinos. I also don't have an specific country.

Cole

Hear me out: afro-indian-brazilian. I have no reason for the Brazilian part besides me being Brazilian and an actors AU I saw that made Cole brazilian. And I LOVE it, so here. I think this would be from his father's side, who I also headcanon to be black, but Lily could be Hindi.

Pixal

I always thought she could have mixed characteristics, so, if she was in some human skin as Zane sometimes is, you wouldn't be able to identify just by looking. And when asked she also wouldn't be able to respond.

I follow the same logic in my 90s au, however, I headcanon her as albino!

Skylor

Very much obviously Chinese, there's not much to discuss here. Like I said, ginger hair is a genetic mutation, but she could be dying it red too. She's one of the few characters I don't envision being mixed.

Morro

Japanese. No reason for that despite him and Taigen from Blue Eye Samurai being SO similar (appearance wise).

Harumi

Also japanese (and also albino). No other reason besides her name.

Vania

I really don't know, specially since Shintaro is a confusing place. She wears an outfit that reminds me a lot o hanfu (chinese traditional wear), but her name is russian and Shintaro is a very japanese inspired name. so maybe russian-japanese? or russian-chinese? or the three together?

Valerie, Vanessa and Kenichi (and by extension, their family)

ethnically? french-japanese. however, i write them very brazilian coded, so they're brazilian (but still descent from french and japanese people)

I'm so conflicted bout rg/rbg siblings because on one hand I think the fanart is nice and kai and lloyds dynamic is one of my favorites in the show but on the other hand I don't like what it does for kai's character.

Like kai has been through a lot even from a young age having to raise nya when he was a kid and be her protector. So him feeling obligated to take care of lloyd (for misako) just feels like it's dragging kai back to that old turama.

Where he's stuck taking care of a teen when he himself is a teen and needs to be his protector when that's the thing that caused him to loose his childhood doing it with nya.

Kai grew up fast and so did lloyd in different ways. As much as I want to say that kai giving lloyd a chance to be a kid when he couldn't be one by taking care of him is just sad in my opinion and frustrating

Cause lloyd already lost that childhood with tommows tea! There isn't a childhood to protect if it's already been ruined. Then theirs him trying to protect lloyd but that doesn't touch me cause lloyds the super powerful chosen one, he doesn't need protection and if he does it shouldn't all fall on kai.

Like I get kai protecting lloyd cause he's important and him thinking he should protect the green ninja but it's when they start saying that it's something more personal that I'm backing out of.

Tldr: lloyd feels like a burden kai has to carry that just forces him to relive his bad childhood and put himself in harms way for no reason just in the sake of protecting the savior of ninjago of all people. Like everyone is putting lloyd on kai's shoulders and it makes me feel bad to see art of him big brothering lloyd cause of it.

Pictures

Misako finds old embarrassing pictures of Lloyd and herself, Wu and Garmadon when they were young. She decides to show them to everyone.

Misako was softly humming as she cleaned the basement. For days, she had been trying to find the time to start clearing it out, but she had too much work.

Now that she had finally found the time, she didn’t want anything to distract her. However, one box in the corner strangely attracted her.

"Where do I know you from?" Misako wondered aloud when she couldn't resist the urge to check the contents of the box.

She sat on the floor and squealed with joy when she saw what was inside.

"I thought I lost this!" she said excitedly as she picked up the first of two photo albums in the box. She blew the dust off it and gently opened it.

She wasn’t mistaken; inside were pictures of her, Garmadon, and Wu when they were young. Nostalgically, she looked at the old photographs filled with happiness, joy, and newlywed carefreeness.

After half an hour, she finally moved on to the second album. "Our family pictures," she said quietly before blowing off the dust and opening it.

"I’m so glad I found this," she whispered, gently flipping through all the family pictures. There she was with Garmadon and oh, baby Lloyd. How cute he was!

Misako would give anything for things to be different so she could hold that little miracle one more time.

"Mom!" Lloyd's voice pulled her back from her trip down memory lane to the beautiful days of the past. "Do you need help?!"

Misako stood up and dusted herself off. "Has it really been this long?" she said, astonished. She completely forgot about clearing out the basement.

It was like that for her; when she got into something, she didn’t notice how time flew. Misako took the photo albums and walked over to Lloyd. Ninjas surrounded him.

"Do you need help?" Lloyd asked her again.

"Maybe tomorrow if you have time," Misako replied with a smile. Lloyd looked at her in surprise.

"Did you find something?" He smiled back.

"Do you remember when you asked me about your childhood pictures?"

Lloyd nodded. "You said you lost them."

"But I didn’t," Misako said joyfully.

"Seriously?!" Lloyd exclaimed happily.

"Wait, are we really going to see pictures of little Lloyd?" Kai asked.

"They're all here," Misako said, handing them the second photo album.

"Give it to me!" Jay shouted.

"I can’t see anything!" Cole complained.

"Hey, those are my pictures!" Lloyd said, snatching them back from Jay. "I’ll open it."

"Fair enough," Zane nodded. Lloyd opened it, and the first few pictures were sweet. Lloyd with his parents, him as a little baby. But as the pictures went on, they became increasingly embarrassing.

"What’s he holding in his mouth?!" Jay asked, stopping Lloyd in his attempt to quickly flip the page.

"No, Jay..." Lloyd protested, but Kai grabbed the photo album from him and looked at the picture.

"Hahahaha, you guys have to see this!"

"You really don’t," Lloyd protested.

"Is that Lloyd eating his boogers?" Nya asked in surprise.

"Indeed!" Cole laughed.

"Mom, why did you record this?!" Lloyd asked desperately.

"Garmadon took that one," Misako chuckled softly.

"Look, baby Lloyd is taking a bath!" Zane said curiously, taking the picture in his hands. "You look really cute here."

"Thanks, Zane..." Lloyd started, but he turned red when he saw the picture.

"Where’s the end of these embarrassing pictures?!" he said desperately.

"Give me that!" Kai insisted.

"No!" Lloyd protested, but Kai already took it.

"We're going to frame this at the entrance!" Cole joked.

"No, no, no!" Lloyd yelled, trying to catch Kai, who was running away with the picture.

"And the one with the boogers, don't forget the one with the boogers!" Jay shouted after them.

"Boys will be boys," Misako sighed and looked at Nya. She was flipping through the first album.

"This is you, Wu, and Garmadon?"

Misako nodded gently and took the picture in her hands.

"You all look great here!" Nya said, pulling out the picture to give it to Misako. Misako stared at it for a long time with a sad look, especially at Garmadon.

They looked so carefree, all three of them... It was...

"If only we had known what would happen." Misako sighed and gently ran her finger over the part of the picture where she and Garmadon stood.

They were both smiling, and he had his arm around her shoulder. They weren’t even together then...

"I agree," Nya sighed too. She saw her parents in one of the pictures, as well as other elemental masters.

"That’s why we have pictures to go back to those days." Misako tried to smile and decided to keep the picture she was holding and frame it somewhere.

"Some pictures just don’t age well!" Nya laughed as they listened to Lloyd chasing the ninjas and yelling,

"Give that back, no, give it to me..." Misako laughed sincerely at that. She could hardly wait to show Wu the pictures...

It was a shame Garmadon wasn't there...

"You’re not allowed!!" Lloyd shouted as the ninjas ran through the kitchen again. "I won’t let you frame that... Kai, listen to me. Zane, Cole, Jay, please..."

okay, so i have some thoughts about characters with Oni heritage and their aging.

Starting with Mystake: the fact that i have seen NO ONE talking about the fact that she's older than the First Spinjitzu Master. That's just cool. Imagine everything she has seen.

Speaking of the FSM: i found it interesting that during Never Trust A Human, he's at least a thousand years old already. I wish we knew more about him 😔 he is very interesting.

But onto what I was thinking about (under a read more bc this post will be LONG)

Wu and Garmadon, and how the FUCK they managed to age so quickly.

I hc that they were created asexually by their father. Someone else came up with the idea that beings who were created asexually age quicker than beings who weren't. I wish I remember who came up with this idea, bc it is very cool.

But there's no way they could've aged that quickly in like 10 years.

Or was it actually 10 or so years?

See, there's another character who looks like she aged way too quickly in that time: Misako. But she's 100 percent human. She should've aged normally. And I think she did, because while she's completely human, Lloyd isn't. He has Oni blood, and therefore should age more slowly than people who are completely human. We don't get to see evidence of this bc of the short span of time that canon covers (excluding flashbacks) and the Tomorrow's Tea complicating everything.

Here's my thoughts: what if he aged more slowly before we ever meet him, when he's a child?

We don't know when Misako dropped him off at the boarding school. He doesn't remember her, but if beings with Oni blood age slower, they should logically take longer to reach developmental milestones, like forming memories of your mom. Would his aging be affected at school? It probably would according to this logic, but since Lloyd is half human, he wouldn't age that much more slowly (plus we know the others at school didn't like him too much so this could've played into that).

If you take this along with Misako's aging, the idea of Garmadon being in the Underworld for longer than 10 years makes sense. It could've been something like 20 years.

But it STILL doesn't fully explain Wu and Garmadon's aging.

Here's what I think does explain it.

We know that with Oni blood comes shapeshifting. Mystake could definitely do it. The FSM could probably do it, since he was born to beings that do not resemble humans, and he literally created humans (at least in Ninjago anyway). I highly doubt his old man form we see in every flashback is his true form. Garmadon could change into an Oni form, as could Lloyd i am disregarding the dragon forms from crystalized bc i don't care enough to incorporate them into this theory. We never see Wu obviously shapeshifting, but it makes sense to assume he can, since his brother and nephew can.

I think that over the period of time between Garmadon's banishment and the pilots, Wu was shapeshifting to look older than he should've looked, and Garmadon copied this idea after he was free from the venom. This fic brings up the concept that Garmadon didn't know who he was without the venom and looked to Wu as an example. Brilliant concept, it just makes so much sense.

9 years — Little Lloyd will appear in several flashbacks, some of the moments we have already seen in the original series and some will be added not to the detriment of the canon of course. A younger Lloyd will also appear in flashbacks, namely at age 4, when the conversation turns to how he was sent to Darkley's Boarding School for Bad Boys and why.

17 years — After Crystalized, the next four years passed quietly. Lloyd tried to build a relationship with Harumi and spent most of his time with her, but it ended miserably for him after only a year of dating, as she was uncomfortable being with him after everything and decided to let go of the past and start life anew. After that, Lloyd started to have a difficult streak in his life, depressions and stresses, and every new loss and emotion only provoked Oni side. Harumi used to help him distract himself from bad emotions, they went on dates, gave gifts and just supported each other, but now she wasn't around. Misako, Wu, the ninja and especially his father helped him to keep his head up, and he did feel better until Master Wu died a year later. Garmadon returned to his lonely life, Misako immersed herself in research, Pixal returned to Cyrus Borg, and the Ninja were about to split up due to evil simply disappearing from the world. But it all ended with Lloyd forbidding the Ninja from splitting up, and due to his fear of becoming evil, he trained the Ninja every day so that they could confront Lloyd's Oni in the future. This split was the last straw for him, causing Lloyd to degenerate and withdraw into himself.

21 years — Although Lloyd trained the ninja, he himself only gave instructions and did not perform any tricks, which he did not even have the strength for over time. Candy and other treats always cheered him up, so Lloyd found solace in eating and watching TV all day, leaving the room only to rudely command the ninja what to do, and then returning to his comfort zone. All this changed Lloyd not only in appearance, but also in moral and combat terms. After two years of such a life, he noticeably gained weight, became very rude, lost his temper at every little thing, and even began to show indifference to friends and the outside world, although he understood that the situation was getting out of control. The ninja tried in every way to captivate him, offered to play outdoors or just chat, but Lloyd felt more vulnerable than ever and perceived this as a threat.

In one moment Agatha and Leo find the Monastery of Spinjitzu in the hopes that the ninja from the book of legends will help save her home from occupation. The ninja decide to do this and convince Lloyd to lead the mission, who treats Agatha with maximum contempt and mistrust, because she reminded him very much of Harumi. When the ninja were traveling on the Bounty at night through the Valley of Mountain Fires in search of Agatha's village, the ship was attacked and eventually the team crashed. This led to Jay and Cole getting lost, Kai, Zane and Nya being captured by bandits, and Lloyd, Agatha and Leo remaining unnoticed near the ship. Lloyd was the only ninja left on this journey, but this time he was absolutely not prepared to fight both physically and mentally. He simply could not imagine that he would ever pick up a weapon again, while the trained ninja were tied in shackles.

Soooo… these are just images for the Wiki infobox, but I thought it would be cool if I showed not only the characters (who I'm currently adapting for the final style of FotP), and also talked a little about the events. I'll do this for each one, since I need to get a lot of images for the pages so that people have a general introduction to the picture, despite the fact that it's still a work in progress. I don't talk about the Wiki now, but want to attract people there when I rewrite the information and put it in order (it's written based on old information, and haven't written about many things yet).

And yes, Future of the Past introduces a timeline of events, and considering that I'm trying to create a kind of fan sequel to the original Ninjago, trying to do it as well as possible, interestingly, and so that it simply evokes nostalgia and warms the soul! Even between the pilot and plot my au there are 12 years, purely symbolically, because the original series itself is that old :) Previously, I even tried to parody the WildBrain style for this, but it turned out to be unrealistic for a comic, so I chose this one. Of course, it doesn't look like what we've seen before, but… why not? “Future of the Past“, because it tells about the future of past. And just… there are many life lessons that I want to bring here, so that this story is not only interesting, but also teaches something.

I'm want to introduce new elements carefully, so that everything harmonizes with each other. In the end, even though Lloyd has changed in appearance, I'll make sure that it's unnoticeable and, on the contrary, dilutes his character. Wu died, but he will appear as a ghost and will help Lloyd (which will only make Lloyd think that he is going crazy (Agatha will not let him do this xD)). The storyline of Nya and Jay will develop brightly, considering that Nya will be in captivity and Jay will be free, which will make them remember how dear they are to each other. Old characters will appear (like Zane's falcon), some designs will reference old ones (like the Bounty), there will be a lot of flashbacks, and most of the new characters' stories will intersect with the events of the pilot season. The events of the Dragons Rising are also taken into account, I just made it so that after the Merger of worlds was created parallel universe, and each of them has a different history (same beginning - different continuation). Damn, I just wanted to create a small text book and abandon it right away, but… love blinded 😂😭

In the future I will create such posts for others, and at the same time will tell their story ^^ Of course, Agatha will be next, considering that she is a new character, I would like to cover her too (well, just take wiki-page one by one and start with my favorites lol)

Reader was walking around the city when she and her friends noticed the ninjas in weird uniforms "uhhh, why are they dressed like that?" Namir asked confused and a bit amused by their looks as reader sighed in embarrassment "it's... Wu's tea shops uniforms" she said sheepishly as she rubbed the back of her neck "you mean the one he's trying to make a business out of?" Phytios said as he took a bite of his candy"yup" she confirmed it as they all looked at the ninjas showcasing their powers"... where's your brother? Isn't he always with them?" Strymyr asked as he looked at each of the ninjas but didn't find Lloyd"I don't know, all I heard from his conversation with the ninjas is him going to the museum to help" she shrugged her shoulders, she never knows where her brother is unless she eavesdrops the conversations between him and his 'family'. After a while they got bored and it was time to go back to their respective homes so she walked back into the tea shop on the mountain "hi reader, welcome back..I didn't know you were out" Misako said with caring visible in her voice. Reader just nodded at her and went behind the counter to the cash register as the first two clients came, a mother and a daughter, clearly close to one another, making reader feel bitter as she only saw that happen between Lloyd and Misako. Just as she was about to give them the bill for the teas they chose, the ninjas barged in in a clear state of panic, all talking over one another "ninjas, calm down. Can't you see? We have our first clients" Wu said as he pointed at the mother and daughter. The little girl, who looked around reader's age, which is 10, stared at the ninjas in awe and admiration 'ugh, great another fan of the oafs' she thought in bitterness. She looked at Wu and to her surprise she saw a look of worry in his eyes "ninjas, you four weren't my first pupils" he said but gets interrupted by the little girl pointing outside. Reader follows her line of sight and sees Lloyd "Look, it's Lloyd!" The little girl said in excitement, but reader has a feeling in her chest, like a heavy stone is there as she looked closer 'that is not Lloyd' she thought.

One thing led to another and now she was hiding behind the counter as whatever took Lloyd's body was fighting with master Wu and Nya after the ninjas got defeated by him. She peeked her head from the counter before seeing some symbols coming out of the old staff that Wu always carries with him. Fortunately before the possessed Lloyd could ran away with the staff Nya let a shelf fall and stop him, making reader gasp out of worry for Lloyd but then remembering that that thing was not her brother. She soon ran out of the shop with Nya and to the Bounty, along with the others ninjas.

She looked around worried as she counted the people on the ship "where's Kai?" She said because even though she didn't like him or Nya, she didn't want for them to be separated like she and Lloyd now are, and for a while have been after the tomorrow's tea incident. The ninjas looked at her before noticing Kai fighting with Lloyd, or whatever took his place. Soon Nya brought down the Bounty's anchor and grabbed Kai as they flew away. Reader sighed in relief for a brief moment before noticing something "he's following!" She yelled loud enough to be heard . The others look outside as they noticed the possesed Lloyd flying on a dragon "quick use your powers!" She yelled at the ninjas "we can't! We lost them!" Jay tells out of panic "what?!" She yelled back, now panicking too. Soon Wu interjected before the panic could escalate "I need to deciph the symbol on the staff before he can!" And then Zain added "me and Kai will protect you while Jay and Cole fight off that guy!" He explained the plan as he, Wu and Kai already run inside "what?! Why do we have to do that?!" Jay said, still in a stage of panic "cause I'm the smart one" Zain added with a hint of cockyness in hus tone, making reader roll her eyes before running to hide in her room. As soon as she got there she sighed in relief before yelling surprised and shocked and scared as she sees a spirit in front of her "who are you?! Are you with whatever took my brother's place?!" She tells before the spirit kneld down in front of her "I'm not here to cause you arm. I know you feel useless, unable to do anything to help except hide and hope for the best. You want to help save your brother from Morro right?" It said as it voice was neutral and calm despite the situation "... Morro?..yes, I want to help. But I'm useless, my powers cause destruction. I inherited all my father's bad things and obviously Lloyd had to inherit all his good traits." She said bitterly as she felt the heavy feeling on her chest again "I can help you change it all. But this must require focus, determination and the understanding that it will come to a cost" it said to her, looking at her as it sat down in front of her by the door "...will this helping me save my brother from Morro? Whoever that it" she asked "you care for him, Why? He abandoned you for his new family with the ninjas and your uncle Wu? Why do you want to save him?" It asked curious "I'm not doing it for myself, I know me and him will never be close again. But Ninjago needs it green ninja and the ninjas need their brother. I will do anything, even sacrifice myself if I have to, just so Ninjago could have their precious hero back" she explained determined to the spirit "so can you help me or not?" She added with a glare, as menacing as it can be coming from a 10 year old as if to warn the spirit to choose wisely "you're determined, focused on your goal and ready for whatever the cost may be. I will train you, little lighthouse, to transform your darkness.." it took her hand and showed a black and purple flame on her hand "..into to light" it finished his sentence as it maked the previous dark and cold flame into a bright and warm one. She looked at the flame on her hand in awe before the Bounty crashed again something "I have to go now, but do not worry, I will be back" it said before disappearing in thin air.

Soon the night came and they all looked at Wu for an explanation on what actually happened and so he explained the story of his first pupil, who he previously in the past thought was going to be he green ninja and was named Morro, making reader look at him in surprise as she reckoned the name from the spirit 'so he was his first pupil? Uh' she thought as they continued to listen before the ninjas asked their own questions and the falling asleep, soon getting followed by Nya and Wu. Reader stayed awake as she looked at the sky 'wherever you are spirit, I hope you are right and can teach me how to save Lloyd' she thought before falling asleep on the floor, nor having noticed said spirit looking at her from on top of tree branch with one thought in mind

EOTE HEIGHT HEAD CANNONS FOR THE NINJA!!!!

Ok so a while ago I was doing my best to design Hanna and I eventually got sidetracked and made a whole ass height chart for the ninja. Note: the silhouettes I used for everyone except Hanna are traces and solid color fill ins of someone else's art. I forget who made it, but the only one that is mine is Hanna's.

To break it down:

Nya is Five feet Five inches, or 165.1 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. I didn't think Nya was super duper short but I didn't think she was super tall either so I made her just a bit above the average.

Jay is Five feet Eight inches, or 172.72 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. I made him shorter than the others bc I firmly believe he just is shorter. And yeah ik that 5'8" isn't short but more like the avg but I say he's short bc he's standing next to the others who are literal giants.

Hanna is Five feet Ten inches, or 177.8 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. She is a tall girl because of her Harmonizer (not human) genetics, plus her dad is also freakishly tall so girlie got the tall genes.

Kai is Five feet Eleven inches, or 180.34 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. I also feel like Kai is the type to say he's 6ft tall even if he's an inch shorter just because he wants to.

Lloyd is Six feet One inch, or 185.42 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. Yes ik the fandom says Lloyd is short bc of the tomorrows tea thing in Childs Play s2, but tbh, bro is literally part Oni and Dragon. Those sons of bitches are hella tall. So respectfully, fuck anyone who hates me for making him tall.

Zane is Six feet Two inches, or 187.96 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. He's a nindroid. That's all I have to say.

Cole is Six feet Four inches, or 193.04 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. I am with the fandoms head cannon of Cole being a big guy, it's clear from the show he's the oldest (technically) and that he has natural super strength. Plus in s8 when we see how Wu found Cole prior to the Pilot Episodes bro already had a six pack WITHOUT training. And then the beach type episode in s2 bro had an 8 pack and continued to have one through the entire show basically. So, my Cole is a buff as fuck giant of a dude who looks like he could kill you but is actually a cinnamon roll.

Oh, and there's some extras for the side characters below. Slight spoiler warning.

Wu is Six feet on the dot as an old man, or 182.88 centimeters. But in his prime, like the adult Wu we saw in s9 (Hunted) was Six feet Three inches, or 190.5 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. Idk why I chose this specifically, I just did.

Misako is Five feet Five inches, or 165.1 centimeters like Nya. I just like this head cannon. Idk why.

Garmadon is tricky:

Sensei Garmadon(Old Garm from s3 &s4 plus a little bit from s5) was Six feet Two inches or 187.96 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. He doesn't hunch as much as Wu does in my mind, so he's Zane's height.

Lord Garmadon from the Pilot Episodes was Six feet Four inches, or 193.04 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. He grew some in his transformation from human to partial Oni but not much.

Lord Garmadon from s1 and s2 was Six feet Seven inches, or 198.12 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. He grows so much because he gained two arms and shifted into mostly Oni. I say mostly Oni because it's my HC that Garm didn't have only the Oni genes being expressed until Harumi resurrected only that side of him.

Emperor Garmadon from s8 and afterwards was Seven feet Five inches, or 226.06 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. This is his Oni expression height, but not the height of his Oni form.

Oni Form Garmadon from both S10 and s16 is Nine feet Four inches, or 284.48 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. Ik Oni height, according to Mythology can range from 8 to 14 feet (243.84cm to 426.72cm) and I would've made Garm taller but you also have to remember his Oni genes are mixed with Dragon and Human. Oni Garm's horns are eight inches tall, making him Ten feet on the dot or 304.8 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units.

Oh and, Adult Human Garmadon was Six feet Five inches, or 195.58 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units.

Lloyd's Oni Form is Nine feet Two inches, or 279.4 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. Again, would've made him taller but the show so obviously has it to where Lloyds otherworldly genes mostly expressed are his Dragon heritage, not his Oni side bc he stuffs it down. This height is only to his head, his horns add another foot making him Ten feet Two inches, or 309.88 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units.

Hanna's Harmonizer form is Seven feet Six inches, or 228.6 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. I'll drop Harmonizer lore at some point that helps explain this. Her antlers/horns give her another five inches making her Seven feet Eleven inches, or 241.3 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units.

Okay, how in the Hell is Lloyd Garmadon's son??

I am about to go off about this because it's honestly bothering me. There are many pieces of evidence pointing against Lloyd being Garmadon's son but there is nothing. NOTHING. Solid enough to really mean anything and it really makes me angry.

Me and my friend just recently got back into Ninjago from originally being into it when we were kids and we have proposed the idea that Lloyd is not in fact Garmadon's son.

Evidence 1:

This man, Lloyd, has blond hair. BLOND. You know what color hair misako had before she became an old hag? and Garmadon before he was fully evil? Brown. They both had brown hair.

You see this?? You see this shit!!? There is clearly some fowl play here.

Evidence 2:

There is no noticeably evil influence over Lloyd. Garmadon was bitten by the great devourer when he was very young and it almost immediately began to take effect in him. This venom took hold in every aspect of his being, mental, emotional, and physical. This is more speculation than anything admittedly but if it was powerful enough to change his entire completion it would have affected his DNA and therefore would have affected his child.

Evidence 3:

The timeline doesn't fit. Garmadon had left for the underworld a while ago, how old was Lloyd when we first see him? Like 12 maybe, at most. Wu and misako are young adults in the picture above and that picture is from right before Garmadon left for the underworld. Misako I guess could have greyed that much in a little over a decade, but Wu?? No. Absolutely not. Completely impossible for that amount of aging to happen in 13 years at most. This amount of time is a generous estimate.

The Theory

Garmadon is not the father. You know who is? Wu. Lloyd has to be Wu's kid. Wu has blond hair, the same hair color as Lloyd. Misako always seemed more affectionate towards Wu than she did towards Garmadon, even after the second season when he became good again. Wu was there when Garmadon had left and misako had no one. Wu wanted to take Lloyd in off the street and give him a loving family when the serpentine had all left him to fend for himself and when the ninja couldn't care less for him. He went to the entire underworld to fetch his brother, the downfall of Ninjago itself, so that Lloyd could be saved from the snakes.

The Flaw:

Basically the only flaw in this argument is the fact that recessive genes exist. This argument, however, IS BULLSHIT BECAUSE GUESS WHAT FUCKERS THAT'S NOT HOW STORYTELLING WORKS. You don't make a character blond with two brunet parents when the blond is actually from those two parents. And recessive genes also do not account for the timeline of when garmadon left and when Lloyd was born.

The only question we're left with is why. Why did this happen? Why doesn't Garmadon know? Why doesn't Wu say anything?

Honestly, couldn't tell you. My friend and I have some thoughts though. They think that Misako sleeps around a lot and they don't know that Lloyd is Wu's kid. That or they told Garmadon that Lloyd is his son in order to give the dark Lord an emotional attachment to something and therefore a weakness of sorts. Really I'm not sure what to think, I think maybe Misako knows who's kid he is but it's possible Wu doesn't. Potentially Misako was with Wu and she received the letter that was from Garmadon that actually turned out to be from Wu and she decided to dump Wu for Garmadon even though she had already gotten pretty close to him, close enough to make Lloyd even. This theory doesn't go with the timeline but you know it's whatever, that's just a theory after all.

HAND OVER YOUR RAY AND WU FRIENDSHIP (OR ROMANTIC) HEADCANONS. /nf

OOH ah dang idk if I have any on hand one sec ummmmm yeah shit idk they were just besties for a long time (comparatively at least, since Wu's so old), they hung out and went on adventures all the time, Garmadon was sometimes there (all this is basically canon lol it's just Kai: Ninja of Fire stuff), Wu always had a lil bit of a crush on him but he's such a wuss about admitting his feelings (see: Misako) and Garmadon actually got to him first (he had a habit of doing that with Wu's friends, it pissed Wu off). Wu was heartbroken when Ray told him not to come near his kids, he was actually really angry about it, cuz fuck man it's not his fault that danger seems to follow him everywhere, but he was careful not to react badly in front of Ray because he didn't want to completely ruin their friendship.

Ray and Maya's disappearance/supposed death took a massive toll on him, and that was not long after he'd accidentally sent his brother to the Underworld so he was already in a terrible state of mind, no wonder he aged so much in such a short period of time.

He had a lot of fun with Ray when he was at the Monastery during Seabound, it was the first time he properly got to hang out with his best friend in like a couple decades, it was great.

Anyway yeah I don't have anything particularly special or insightful to say about them I just think they're silly

Green Brothers s4 - 5 lore drop? Please? I am so excited about this AU!

Of course! It's a bit long

So Zane dies still at the end of s3. Morro had already been distant and angry since the end of s2 but watching one of his best friends die was a huge tipping point like it was for the rest of the guys. When Lloyd goes gathering all the ninja, Morro just happens to be working at the Chen's Noodle House they go to. He's there to witness the invitation to the island and got one himself.

The plot still basically goes the same. Spy plot. Skylor still covers her tattoo and is the spy. But now there's 2 spies. The ninja would never have guessed it was one of their own. Morro is on the side of Chen to the point he has an Anacondrai tattoo.

Morro is only revealed during the transformation spell. He's there with Lloyd and the crew. Garmadon falls to his knees in pain and Morro also collapses. Everyone is shocked of course and that's when Chen and crew swoop in to take the blade copters and Roto Jet. Morro takes off and joins them without an explanation.

Lloyd is of course devastated because why would his cousin (doesn't know is actually his brother) join Chen. Garmadon assumes Chen manipulated poor young Morro with a promise of power. They're not mad at him yet, just disappointed.

Cut to Morro overhearing Chen tease Garmadon about the letter and he's horrified but also extremely upset. That man is the reason for his family issues. So he takes off on his own. He's upset at himself, upset at his family, upset at Chen. That was the last poor Morro was seen alive.

Chen and the other fake Anacondrai are sent to the Cursed Realm and Garmadon sacrifices himself. Lloyd asks if anyone has seen Morro but he's nowhere to be found. Wu and Misako still don't tell Lloyd about Morro fully. He just lost his dad, he can't have them telling him he could've also lost his little brother.

Meanwhile, Morro is running. He gets as far away as he can. He disappears into an old yet familiar set of mines. The Caves of Despair. Perfect, he thinks, exactly where he belongs. Morro curses himself. He's angry and sad. He's then trapped in a cave during a localized earthquake and can't get out. Rocks fall and hit him in the head, the cave starts to fill with toxic gas. Morro slumps down against a rock and passes.

Sometime passes and Lloyd is still trying to find Morro when he's summoned to the museum. Strange things occur and once the ghost reveals himself, Lloyd is horrified. There's Morro. A ghost. Attacking and now possessing Lloyd.

Season 5 still plays out basically the same. Morro reveals that Lloyd is his brother, yells at Lloyd that he took everything from him, and that he's going to have his revenge.

At the end when Morro gets grabbed by the Preeminent and gives Wu the Realm Crystal, Wu apologizes to his son and begs him to come back to them and that he forgives him. Morro cries and takes up the offer and gets pulled out to safety. Lloyd comes back out of a Realm portal, sees Morro and gets ready to attack, but Wu stops him and tells him Morro is ready to apologize and reform. Then the whole family hugs and apologizes. Morro finally gets a full family hug. And that's how season 5 ends

So many people hate Misako for making one bad decision in an impossible situation(no matter what,Lloyd would be the Green ninja,the inevitability of Destiny is a common theme in the show).Lloyd forgave her.Lloyd loves his mom(look at the entirety of Island and some other scenes from s2,s5,s7,Oni trilogy and so on).Garmadon who the fandom praises for being a good dad nearly killed him,wasn't in Lloyd's life too,constantly belittled him in Crystallized and the only good memories Lloyd has of him(and they're tainted by his later actions) is whatever time there was between s2 and s3,s3-s4+some from ToE and his final words in Possession.Way less that Misako.Sure,there was gd's venom, prophecy and Harumi,but if Garmadon can be forgiven all that,why can't Misako be forgiven one irrational decision in a moment when it was impossible to think rationally?Especially if we don't know much about that from her pov: maybe she tried different options,maybe Darkleys lied to her and to a lot of other parents about being a safe boarding school,maybe Darkleys were the safest option she could find considering Lloyd's heritage.

There are also parents that have similar situation and yet aren't hated as much:Ray and Maya.They too were in a situation where they had to choose and motivation was to save their kids,but they ended up hurting them anyway.THAT'S THE WAY THE COOKIE CRUMBLES.This is literally what happened with Misako and Lloyd.Misako apologized,was forgiven and became a part of Lloyd's life,his family.

Another argument I see in Misako hate is that Lloyd was forced to forgive her:HE WASN'T.Wu offered her to join the team and she said only if Lloyd wants her to.Lloyd was free to choose.

Also,would the ninja really allow someone who is a bad parent into Lloyd's life?No.Cole calls her Mrs.G at some point,she gives advice to Nya and constantly helps out with her knowledge. Misako in on good terms not only with Lloyd,but all of the team.

Wusako.The love triangle was bad writing.That's it.Only other love triangle in ninjago is cole-nya- Jay one and it's not written great either.Garm made a choice that based his relationship with Misako on a lie and also affected Wu.Why should she be obligated to still love a man that changed beyond her recognition and lied to her about an important thing?Besides,there really hasn't been much of Wusako.There was something in s2, love triangle in s4 and the rest of their interactions seem more platonic.'Lloyd should not have to watch his uncle become his father'. That did not happen bc as previously stated, Wusako was barely there and if the two were to ever become a couple,they'd likely talk with Lloyd about it.Also,Wu is already a father figure to all of the ninja including Lloyd.

Hi, typing this on my computer bc I'm actually going insane and I'll fry my phone trying to type this all on there.

So my roommates and I finally watched parachutingkittens' video on misogyny in Lego Ninjago (not relevant to the rest of the post, thought I should mention it bc neither of my roommates are into Ninjago but the video was why we were discussing Ninjago) and it was extremely good.

Afterwards, we were talking about Misako a lot, and one of my roommates asked if Misako and Garmadon knew about the prophecy about Lloyd before having him. Which like, idk if they did, idk if it even existed before Lloyd was born, I don't remember if it was ever explained, but anyways, it made me realize something sooooosososo devastating about them and you KNOW it's crazy that I'm talking about this bc I NEVER post abt Garmadon and rarely abt Misako, but LISTENNNN OK

Imagine the prophecy did exist, and they knew about it long before Lloyd was born, also taking into account the fact that Garmadon didn't fully succumb to the venom until after Lloyd was born. So because of this, they decide not to have children in an effort to prevent the prophecy from playing out. But it's been literally thousands of years since Garmadon was bitten, and he and Misako have been together for quite a few years already and they make the ultimate decision that he's been ok up until this point and he's doing literally fantastic despite the venom, and they might be in the clear on that front even though it's still a risk. They deem the risk factor to be very small, and decide to have Lloyd. And they do! And they're happy! And then the literal horrors happen because Garmadon can't fight the effects of the venom anymore! And I just think it's devastating, as someone who doesn't spend a lot of time even thinking about Garmadon and Misako.

AAAA kinda old art (that's a lie i made it like three weeks ago) but I wanted to talk more about the supporting characters of the High Tide AU! Those being. Misako, Maya, and Ray (I had no idea what to do with Wu so i've. set him aside for now)

This isn't going to be anything super in-depth. Just a little . idk. recap?

Misako and Maya become very close (that's. platonic) in the weeks following Nya's sacrifice. They already knew each other to an extent, but after she and Ray went missing, Maya never had the chance to get to know Misako as a true friend. But now she does! And they're like besties! The two bond over their shared experiences of motherhood and Misako uses knowledge gained from years of love and loss to help Maya through the grieving process.

Maya and Ray stay at the monastery for a few months after Nya's sacrifice to support Kai. Ray didn't know Nya the way Kai did, so they often reminisce on what she was like when they're together as a way to reconnect. Kai really struggles with feeling overly-responsible for the other ninja as they navigate their way through grief together; he feels as if it's down to him to do everything in his power to prevent his friends from suffering the same fate as his sister, but is quick to lose himself in the process. Being able to retell these memories with his father allows Kai to process his grief, and strengthen his relationship with the rest of his family too.

I'm doing my best to be as angst-free as possible with this AU and I hope it's paying off <\3 I don't want this to be the most devastating story ever, I just want to rewrite the scenario of Nya's sacrifice in a way that brings the ninja together instead of tearing them apart.

Entertaining Sensei

Sensei Garmadon had an operation and is now under the influence of meds and is becoming loopy. Misako has to deal with him while the ninjas enjoy everything that is happening.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Misako asked Sensei Garmadon as they were returning to the monastery.

Sensei Garmadon had undergone surgery and was full of meds.

"Of course, I'm fine," he said casually, waving his hand.

Misako frowned. From the plane, it was clear that he was under the influence.

"Maybe it's best if you sit down for a bit," Misako suggested when they entered the monastery.

Sensei Garmadon reluctantly obeyed.

"I'm going to change, you stay here," Misako said, finishing up and heading to their room.

When she returned, she found him spinning around in the kitchen.

"Garm?" Misako asked as she approached him from behind.

"I'm just cooking dinner!" Sensei Garmadon cheerfully declared, continuing to stir.

"If you're hungry, you should have asked me to cook something for you," Misako remarked, glancing to see what he was stirring.

"But it's more fun when I do it myself," Sensei Garmadon insisted.

Misako almost fainted when she saw what was in the pot. "You're really not okay," she said in an exhausted tone.

"Don't you like it, dear?" Sensei Garmadon asked with a grin.

Inside the pot were two eggs in their shells, two silver spoons, and some milk.

"I'm so proud," he said, adding ingredients like oregano and bits of cutlery.

"Maybe it's best if you let that go," Misako advised, cautiously trying to take the pot away from him.

"If you don't like it, you don't have to eat!" Sensei Garmadon retorted defensively and pulled the pot closer to himself.

'KNOCK KNOCK!'

"I'm going to open the door, and you better get rid of that by the time I get back!" Misako said sternly.

Sensei Garmadon watched her leave, then hastily turned on the oven and shoved his creation inside. God, he was really hungry.

"Hello, Sensei!" Kai came to greet Sensei Garmadon.

"Hello, strawberry ninja!" Sensei Garmadon greeted him without enthusiasm. "Did you prepare yet another catastrophically funny hairstyle for us today?"

The other ninjas chuckled at this, while Kai clenched his fists in annoyance.

"I won't take it..." Kai angrily marched toward Sensei Garmadon, but Lloyd stopped him.

"What's wrong with you, dad?"

"Ah, here comes my little green frog," Sensei Garmadon laughed heartily, patting Lloyd on the head. "And let me hear you croak around, what do you call it? Oh right, fighting."

The other ninjas were nearly dying with laughter, and Lloyd was completely blushing.

"What's wrong with you?!" he asked indignantly.

"He just had surgery; he’s literally drugged," Misako interjected, glancing at the clock.

"Go, Misako, if you have to, we'll stay with him," Nya said to Misako.

"And leave him in this state with these five?" Misako sighed.

"Oh come on, Misako," Jay tried to persuade her. "It’ll be fun."

"More fun than the fact that he’s wearing his pants that are down?" Sensei Garmadon asked.

"Aa!" Jay said, attempting to lift his pants that weren't even down.

"Just a joke." Sensei Garmadon continued to laugh.

"Hey!" Jay frowned.

"I really think you should take a nap, Garmadon," Misako said as she approached him.

"I'm not sleepy," Sensei Garmadon shrugged.

"You’re going to sleep," Misako insisted.

"Or what, are you going to call the police on me?" Sensei Garmadon raised an eyebrow.

"Garmadon..." Misako sighed, already irritated.

"You could take some medicine to help you relax.You're to mady."

"Don't bug me right now!" Misako shouted at him. "You're under the influence. You have to lie down; that's what the doctor said!"

"Remember that time when the doctor told you not to leave the house, but you went out anyway and got drunk, and then you were..."

"That was a completely different situation, and you know it!" Misako shot back, turning red. "By the way, what’s that smell?"

"Ah, my dinner is ready!" Sensei Garmadon proudly proclaimed, opening the oven.

"I told you..." Misako groaned and facepalmed.

"Record this; it’ll be funny," Jay whispered to Cole.

"Now!" Sensei Garmadon announced, pulling out his creation. "Who wants some?"

All the ninjas were dying with laughter, and Misako watched wearily.

"Good job, Garmadon, but unfortunately, no one is going to eat that." She sighed.

"Zane, please come here." Sensei Garmadon called him over.

And when Zane arrived, Senssi Garmadon smashed his dinner in Zane's face.

"Food fight!" Sensei Garmadon yelled.

"No!" Misako shouted. "Enough! This is too much!"

"The fun is just beginning!" Sensei Garmadon whistled and started to unbutton his shirt.

Misako tried to stop him while the ninjas all filmed and enjoyed watching their serious Sensei in such a state.

"What happened?" Sensei Garmadon asked when he woke up.

He didn’t remember much, just the surgery...

"Garmadon, is that really you?" Misako asked, looking at him.

"What happened?" Sensei Garmadon looked at her worriedly. "I didn’t..."

"Look at the videos," Misako sighed.

Sensei Garmadon turned on his phone and started watching everything. He saw himself trying to take off his clothes, climbing trees, and doing even worse things.

All the while, Misako was trying to stop him. Later, the ninjas chimed in, and Misako angrily told them to keep filming so they could show him how he had behaved.

"I'm sorry..." Sensei Garmadon said quietly.

"It's okay; I'm just glad you're back to normal," Misako said, kissing him on the forehead. "You really drove me crazy, but I know we’ll laugh about this one day."

"I won't be around much longer," Sensei Garmadon said shamefully, swallowing hard.

He was completely red. He didn’t know where he could ever go in front of anyone after all this.

He hoped no one would ever see it, but knowing some of the ninjas...

"I heard you had a great time, brother?" Even Sensei Wu couldn't resist teasing him.

All the ninjas were laughing, and Sensei Garmadon was blushing. It would take them a really long time to forget this.
